Beautiful but very hard to walk ....a lot of stairs

What a lovely neighborhood with gorgeous houses and views-! Was a very pleasant stroll-!

If you make a trip to Hamburg you definitely have to see the Treppenviertel at Blankenese. But make sure that the weather is fine. It’s easy to reach via S-Bahn. 5000 steps are waiting to be entered. The landscape itself is breathtaking. You can easily spend a whole day out there enjoying the sea and the nature.

The most beautiful city ever

Walked here all day and got a little lost in the forest close by, but this was truly the most memorable walk on my trip!!!

From the Blankenese Train Station you need to walk about 5 minutes before you find the first flight of stairs (there is more than one). The flights are usually narrow, I can imagine it can feel a little crowded in the summer. You can walk along the Elbe and get very nice views of Blankenesen from the shore. Nice place to visit (located in the westernmost part of Hamburg)

Nice place to have a walk from a wealthy neighborhood down to beach. There are some cafes and fancy hotels, restaurants around. Fresh air. No wonder it s the most expensive residential area in Hamburg

We have been there a number of times and found the park very nice and fun to be in with kids. There was a very nice big playground and many things to see and do. We will go again and we can only recommend this to anyone.

We had an amazing time at Wildpark Schwarze Berge! The park is beautifully laid out, surrounded by peaceful forest and plenty of space for the animals to roam. You can really feel that the animals are well cared for and that the staff are passionate about nature and education. The walking paths are scenic and easy to follow, and there are so many species to discover — from wild boars and deer to owls, lynxes, and wolves. What we especially enjoyed was the Fuchsfütterung (fox feeding). It was such a unique and intimate experience to watch the foxes up close and learn more about their behavior. The keeper explained everything in a really engaging way and made it feel personal and special. Seeing how curious and playful the foxes were was definitely the highlight of our visit. The park also has great viewing areas, clean facilities, and a nice restaurant with local food. It’s a perfect spot for families, couples, or anyone who loves animals and nature. We’ll definitely come back again — and next time, we’ll plan to stay even longer!

Huge park to entertain your kids. There are plenty of animals to see and areas that you can relax have a Picknick. Also they have an area where you can have a BBQ if you bring your own things to grill. Can spend the whole day with kids and family.

Large and clean animal park with spacious enclosures, but sometimes difficult paths with quite a gradient. The path through the park is paved and can also be visited with handcarts, wheelchairs and prams. Plenty of clean toilets, rubbish bins and food is also provided. Dogs are allowed! Large and open animal enclosures for very close contact.

My Daughter enjoyed every moments and to see animals and some to touch them. Surprisingly enough there is many people visit on weekend but since the place is bigger you don't see or feel it is crowded. The challenge if you take a bus it runs after every 45 min and during summer most of weekends the bus is full

Great fun park for young kids. Plenty of carousels, some faster, some slower. There is also a fairy tale walk where different fairy tales are presented.

Great spot for kids up to 8 years old. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash payments in the restaurant — I had to use up all my coins. Pretty ridiculous in this day and age… if payment device is broken, please consider to provide a spare one!

It's such a shame that this park is not well organized. We visit the park 4 person on a Saturday afternoon. We waited at one food station 1,5 hours, finally when we arrived in front to order the electronic sistem was broken so they start to close. We went to the next food station were we waited for 4 pizza 1,5 again, because there was working only one boy who was sooooooooooooooo slowly... It was like a bad joke. So we lost 3 hours only waiting in the lines for food. For 81 euros 2 adults and 2 kids IT WAS NOT WORTH IT! Never again we will come here and we don't recommend. Shame for the animals, this was the only nice thing here.

Great wee place to take the kiddos. I wouldn’t recommend fir kids over the age of 12-13 they could get bored but the wee ones will love it!! You can also bring your dogs as long as you keep them on a leash and they are used to crowds!

if you're neither looking for crazy rides nor a theme park that pretty much yells "I was made in 2023! I'm super modern! Look at me how shiney I am!", then you should go to this theme park if you're into 'vintage' parks. This park is a bit on the older side of life but made with so much detail and love. My friend and I are always coming back because it just makes you feel "at home". Nostalgic classic rides, nostalgic colors .. love it! Also, it's great for smaller/younger kids, not so much for teens who usually want to go on fast rides ;) it's definitely worth it (as an adult) to come here in the late afternoon for a price reduction

Serengeti Park Hodenhagen absolutely exceeded our expectations! We had an amazing time exploring the self drive safari. It's incredibly well organized and gives you a rare chance to see exotic animals up close from the comfort of your own car. From giraffes walking past our windows to rhinos grazing nearby, the whole experience felt like a mini African adventure right in Germany. What impressed us the most was how smoothly everything ran. Entry was well coordinated, the drive-through routes were clearly marked, and there were friendly staff around to guide and assist if needed. The animals appeared healthy and well cared for, with plenty of space to roam. But the fun doesn’t stop there. The amusement park section was a fantastic surprise. There’s a great mix of rides and attractions for both kids and adults. The park is clean, spacious, and offers a lot of variety to fill the entire day. Overall, it’s 100% worth the visit, especially for families or anyone looking to do something unique over the weekend. We left with so many great memories and can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend!

We went for the Halloween special and we really enjoyed it. It wasn't too busy, and not too scary. We were able to enjoy all the rides without a wait on most occasions. Unfortunately, both rollercoasters were not operating, I dont know if this is normal for the winter months. We stayed in a safari comfort lodge, which was clean and perfect for the three of us. It was quite small, but we were only in there to sleep. The accommodation is immediately next to the park and restaurant. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was included in our package. We didn't have time to experience the safari park this visit. We will definitely be returning next year.

An interesting park with a lot of different animals. My recommendation is to go through the park in your own car instead of the bus, as it is really safe and better for seeing the animals. Touring by car takes about 2–3 hours, after which you can visit the amusement park within the same area and spend another 3–4 hours having fun—rides, winning teddy bears by throwing into baskets, food available around. There is also a place where you can feed and pet goats, sheep, and llamas, which is truly wonderful for animal lovers. Overall, a very nice experience and recommended.

It is a really great place for a whole day family trip! The safari part is incredible, we were on our own car and haven't regretted it. You can see animals really close, they have plenty of space and look really healthy. And we loved the amusement park! Surprisingly there were almost no ques, we didn't have to wait more that 5 mins for a ride. Top place, highly recommend!

One of the best Safari park in northern Europe ! Very large, organised, clean and must visit. The rides are also a bonus and included, if you want to cover both I recommend to start early spend 09.30 to 12.30 at the safari, have lunch and spend rest of the day at the rides. The rides are for all age groups and parking facility is quite good, so can easily walk around. There is also an indoor play area for younger kids. Overall can easily spend a full day with family having fun and good memories !

We had booked the Tongasoa lodges. What they don't tell you is there is a hard deadline for check in. The reception closes at 7pm and they were available until 8pm for late check in. The keys and the room no. information are all provided only at the reception, if you come late, we aren't sure where you will need to spend the night. We were very lucky to have caught them just when they were locking up and they were kind enough to help us with our checkins after their work hours. Apart from that everything else was really nice. They rooms were nice and clean, the beds were comfortable and all amenities were functional. The breakfast the next day at Manyara restaurant was just fine. If you are a vegetarian, you will be able to get sandwich and cereals and for vegan probably just fruits and salad vegetables. Safari the next day was really fun, we went with our own cars. The animals were very close and approached the cars. I thought I read you shouldn't feed the animals, but some of the cars in front of us were feeding apples, bananas and carrots and nobody stopped them. The amusement park was also fun, it came with the safari tickets, we didn't need to pay extra.

Inevitably a very thought provoking experience. A very detailed museum with photos, video artefacts etc. Outside it was not fully clear where to go, take the free map. Nice to see Anne Frank's memorial, her story has moved me for over 50 years

Free to enter and walk around, the scale of the area is massive and you can easily spend 2-3 hours walking around. You don't truly understand the scale of the camp until you walk the grounds. Although none of the original building stand there are plenty of maps explaining certain areas dotted around the grounds. The POW cemetery is separate from the camp, roughly a 5 min walk and is now connected via a sand path that crosses the training area. All signs have an English translation and the exhibits in the museum also have English translations. There is a cafe and library on site, but I didn't visit.

Poignant and moving. Very well narrated in the stories and pictures in the museum which is new. Camp site tells the story well although it is only the foundation now as it was destroyed at the liberation due to disease concerns.

We did a guided tour. She was amazing and explained everything really well. Enjoyed the parts we could see. She said that the chapel won’t be accessible starting on December until March due to reparations so take into consideration.

Visited Celle Castle in February and absolutely loved it. I didn’t go inside, but just walking around felt like stepping into a fairy tale. A charming stop if you’re in Celle!

Although I never toured the inside of the palace. I thoughly enjoyed the architecture and green space surrounding the site. Some nice views of Goslar behind the palace. Great place to visit.

Very helpful staff that made my visit with a mobility scooter easy and very enjoyable! Informative audio guide saves reading all the info tablets and gives good background information on all the exhibits. Well worth a visit!

I really enjoyed it. We got the audio guides which helped explain a lot. I really liked all the imperial art and the explanations behind the depictions. I have never been very good at art history and the symbolism and all of that and the audio guide explanation was very helpful.

I took the train/ mine option and greatly enjoyed the ride and temperature change (it was hot outside). Although the tour was in German I was able to infer as it is a very visual and interactive tour. The tour guide was really good. Hard to believe what these workers had to go through to earn a living. An amazing experience I would highly recommend! It's rare to get to walk in the shoes and take the same mine train the miners took back in the day, deep into the depths of this mine and UNESCO World Heritage site. The rest of the museum and exhibitions are also interesting but the mine rail tour is a must!

Very impressive! It was for me the first time to visit a mine like this, it feels you go back in time! The groups weren't that big, so you could see a lot of the mine. It was quite cold, so wear warm clothes. The train underground was an amazing experience!

Very deceiving for such an emblematic place. It is still a quite impressive place full of history which is nice to see. I expected more... First of all, there is no tour in English. For a UNESCO world heritage site, you will expect at least one tour in English. For the museum part, it is interesting but everything is disorganised and it is not appealing. Some parts are only in German. I hope one day, this place would be made more accessible for non-german speakers.

I recently visited the Rammelsberg Ore Mines with my husband and had an incredible experience. We took the guided tour in English, called the Röder Stollen, led by Mr. Christian Etzrodt. He was super friendly and humorous, making the entire journey interesting and engaging. I really appreciate him going out of the way to add fun to the tour. It was an amazing and adventurous experience, and I highly recommend his tour. The reception staff were also very friendly and helpful (she helped us choose the appropriate tour), as was the lovely lady at the shop. Overall, it was a fantastic visit! We really enjoyed the experience. Oh, yes! Make sure to wear appropriate clothing and shoes. You would need to walk a lot and climb steep steps. Would not recommend this tour to people with claustrophobia, nyctophobia, panic disorder, breathing issues, pregnancy, etc. It is colder and dark and might be a bit slippery. P.S. I personally give bonus points for the "Stimmungsring" at the shop, haha

I went there by taking M830 from Goslar Hbf. There is only one or two time each hour,and need to check the time in order not to wait for a long time. The church is very beautiful and attractive. Very impressive. It’s worth visiting. There is a hotel near the church is also quite beautiful.

This little church is seriously stunning! If you're into checking out the impressive woodworking skills that showcase the local architectural style, you're in for a treat. The folks running the place might not have been the friendliest, but we still had a good time during our quick visit.

Absolutely gorgeous and very interesting history of this church. Entry is 2€ - if you like the organ you can book a tour as well. In case the main gate is closed walk up and around to the right to find the entrance. There is parking available close by.

Great experience. First time going up with two kids and a dog. Really happy the dog could have been taken in with us! We took the ride Tal- Berg-Tal. Could exit at the Mitte stop to take a walk in the forest. Then we went to the top where all the skiers go. Magnificent views! We didn't ski this time so can not comment on the slope itself. However there were plenty of skiers and snowboarders of all ages, so I suppose the snow was also good.

Great place to visit. We parked the car for three hours and took the lift my to the highest point in Northern Germany The top has big playground and activities for kids. Quite an experience for my two girls and chill out with a hot chocolate with a view

The lift will take you to the top or the Middle Station. There's a separate lift for your bikes if you need for the Mountain bike trail. 6 per Cabin with a great view of the whole area.

The cable car was worth the 19 euro per person. The view from the top, overlooking the Harz Forest, was stunning, although it was sad to see that much of it appeared dead. The service provided was excellent and contributed to a pleasant overall experience.

The prices for a ride on the cable car in one direction is €9, there and back is €15. Stopping off at the middle station is possible and pleasant. Walk into the valley about 4 km gravel road, hiking boots required, large parts of the spruce are dead. There is a big parking lot, the price for one hour is €1.

The Hercules monument in Kassel is absolutely breathtaking and truly one of Germany’s most impressive landmarks. Standing high above the city in the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, the sheer size and presence of the statue and the pyramid it rests on is awe-inspiring. The panoramic views over Kassel and the surrounding hills are worth the trip alone. What makes the experience even more special is the unique water feature system – when the cascades are running, you can watch the water rush down step by step through the entire park, ending in a dramatic fountain. It’s a spectacular show of Baroque engineering that still feels magical today. The walk up can be a bit demanding, but the combination of nature, history, and architecture makes it unforgettable. Whether you come for the view, the history, or simply to enjoy the peaceful park, the Hercules monument is a must-see highlight of Kassel.

Beautiful place...as everyone knows it has 500 steps...that you have to climb slowly because you arrive out of breath...you can have a picnic at the bottom...but I went in the summer and the castle was horrible. And it's under renovation. Don't go inside the castle to go up and down for at least two hours while you walk around. If you have more time, even better. The fountains do not have water like in the videos for these dates and the heat was 33 degrees....

The waterfalls and fountains are operated on Wednesdays and Sundays on the afternoon. It’s a wonderful and quite unique spectacle being a UNESCO cultural site. To follow the path of the 5 stations you have to walk over 2 Km, mainly downhill.

Stunning views! Came the first week of November (so naturally the fountains/water were not running), but got some beautiful autumn colours and some blue sky. There is no fee to wander around the monument. I believe there's a museum there, which costs money. Unclear on if anyone is allowed to climb further up the monument (able to walk around the base at the top of the stairs), but there were locked gates blocking off when I went (around 1500h on a Monday). Helpful hint, I took the bus to the Herkules monument and then walked down through the park. It's a lot of stairs to walk up to the top, but really enjoyable walking downhill.

Very bombastic venue, however it is being repaired and not a nice visit ( as of Nov 2035). I wouldn't pay the €8 to go up, unless you wish a wonderful view only, the the construction is rather hideous really. The cascade is worth a walk up and down. Wear good footwear; 535 steps. You can access the staircase cascade free. Chech the timings as the water is only switched on during the summer months, around 14:30hrs. Still worth a visit.

Absolutely stunning. A lot of walking but there is a shuttle bus from Hercules to the Schloss. A lot of beautiful statues. Allow a good chunk of the day to visit and best on a dry day.

Marvelous piece of man made wonder. Gigantic, rusty and majestic. Nice to trek with the family and have excellent opportunity to explore the nature. From HBF, you can take tram 4 to wilhelmspark and from there either ride with bus line 23 untill Herkules or trek the 3 odd kilometers. Also there are parking opportunities near wilhelmspark tram station but it's filled quickly on Wasserspiel days (Sundays, Wednesdays and public holidays in summer). Worth and recommended.

Absolutely gorgeous park, but be prepared to hike! Walk from the info center to the Hercules statue was about 3 hours one way. The water attractions get filled on Wednesday Friday and Sunday, so try to be at the Hercules statue around 2.

Such an amazing castle with beautiful views. The path leading up to the tower is a moderate hike with a lot of stairs to climb but the view from top is worth the hard work.

The view is amazing. It's a good walk, so bring water with you. It was raining and foggy, but it was still worth it. They have some light shows at night, so I recommend going later.

The museum is good enough to enjoy the stories of the Greeks. However, it has no ancient monuments as it contains prototypes for statues, vases and temples. However, It contains some nice art work and it is the only place in Kassel to buy souvenirs as postcards and magnets 🧲 😀. A bit expensive souvenirs, but it's okay..

Toskana Therme in Bad Orb is a lovely place to relax and unwind. The saltwater pools are a real highlight—no chlorine, just soothing, mineral-rich water. The food was excellent, and the prices were reasonable, making for a good overall experience. However, there were a couple of minor downsides for me: the water temperature in the outdoor pool could have been a bit warmer, and there weren't enough chairs for the number of guests. Additionally, the area around the pool could use a little more attention in terms of cleanliness. Despite these small issues, it's still a place I would visit again if it were closer.

Despite I am not a big fun of thermal baths I think this one is a nice one. Very new, modern and well organized. Unfortunately the swimming pools are not very big and it tends to be quite crowded especially at peak hours. The inside restaurant does not have a huge variety of food and it is quite basic. There is a very large sauna area with many different types of sauna although you need to be prepared to be totally naked to enjoy 😀. Overall a nice experience!

I really enjoy the swim hall very much. However, tonight, the bubble machine (pumps) were not operational. Part of the enjoyment of the warm salt water is the water features. This particular evening, the music was excessively loud, even in the sound room.

To everyone who is ok with an average spa which is also focused on a normal swimming pool atmosphere this is the place to go. To everyone who is used to a more intimate, quiet and luxurious experience this spa is not recommendable. Showers and clocks are broken, toilets aren't clean, sauna area is crowded at least at the weekend (even though late in the evening).

I’ve been to many saunas and thermal baths before, this one didn’t impress me. Thermal baths were great, we could swim in 2 indoor pools, chill in the jacuzzi and enjoy swimming outdoors surrounded by nature. Sauna area was not so nice. Several saunas were closed. We could only go to 90 and 55 degree sauna and hamam. No cold pool where you could cool down after heat. Jacuzzi had a barely warm water instead of hot. Showers are really uncomfortable to use because the water stream is literally hitting you while changing from hot to ice cold all the time. No shower gel provided. Small details are missing. We also had to decide on and pay for the time of staying before going in. 2 hours 20€, 4 hours 26€ per person. If you stay longer, you have to pay extra for every 30 min. Overall it was okay. But you could feel that there is no soul in it.

Nice place , if someone likes churches, good german food and beer.The path to the Golgotha group leads over a stone staircase . It's one of the oldest of its kind in Germany , built in 1710. ( counting the stairs is really good fun not only for kids :-D ) . The panoramic view from the top of the hill is also beautiful.

I visit frequently and sometimes use the sauna, which has various types with different temperature levels. There is also a relaxation area upstairs with hanging chairs and spectacular views of nature. It’s important to note that this is a nude sauna. If that makes you uncomfortable, it’s best not to pay the additional fee. Additionally, there is a floating pool with a high salt concentration that allows you to float effortlessly. Many people don’t know that there is a Dampfbad (steam bath) upstairs, which is free to use and doesn’t require an additional fee. The facility is wheelchair accessible, and there is even a dedicated pool for people with disabilities. As for dining, the ice cream is delicious, and you can sit indoors or outdoors. The food is quite good considering it’s a pool, spa, and relaxation center. Overall, the atmosphere is excellent, and the staff is friendly and professional.

We spent 2 hours in this thermal bath. Very nice place for family, and also has a quiet place. I have had eczema in my hand for years which keeps coming back. After one day here my skin improved and healed so very fast, less that 24 hours. Our stay here was only 1 night and I wish we had more time to stay longer for my skin’s complete healing. I will definitely return and plan to stay longer in this beautiful and quite town for relaxation time and healing.

I was there 2 weeks ago. I really enjoyed my time there. It's worth to go there for all day long like I did. It's a perfect place to Relax and everyone find something. During a day they have a lot of different activities.for example 3x per day you can try some face mask. There is a restaurant, food was tasty and bar outside with nice cocktails. All place is nice and clean.

Both are really gorgeous pedestrian bridges with splendid views from the bridge and of the bridge from shores. Similarity continues in number of tourists and locals crossing them. I have had opportunity to cross the bridge in the morning before local winery stand opens and in afternoon. Much more palatable in the morning. After wine stand opens, the bridge becomes really congested and hard to cross.

One of the best strolls in the area : crossing the bridge and leisurely walking up to the fortress in the midst of vineyards. Strongly recommended the castle tour and enjoying the view from the top gardens.

I’ve hiked to the fortress crossing Alte Mianbrucke bridge and going gradually on Zeller Strabe and via chain of town gardens culminating in ascent to back entrance of Marienberg Fortress (with benefit of sightseeing much more than the forest). Given limited amount of time, I have not chosen interior tour, but full loop around the fortress afforded beautiful town and nature views. Returning back to the town via main entrance to the forest was quick and easy descent.

Worth a visit, even while renovations are underway. At the moment the main part of the fortress isn't accessible, but the museum is still well worth the ttrip. If using public transportation, take the #9 line to get as close to the main entrance as possible.

The Marienberg Fortress offers a fantastic view over Würzburg and looks beautiful from the outside. Unfortunately, there is currently a lot of construction work going on, so a large part of the area couldn’t be visited. We only stayed outside and didn’t go inside, so I can’t comment on the interior. Even though Festung Marienberg was partially under renovation during our visit, the experience was absolutely worth the climb. In fact, the construction almost faded into the background the moment we started walking up the hillside paths surrounded by vineyards and those classic Würzburg panoramas. When we reached the top, everything was covered in thick fog — the kind that makes the whole place feel mysterious and ancient. The fortress walls, towers, and archways appeared like shadows in the mist, and honestly, it added such a cinematic touch. We thought we’d lost the view for the day… but then, a few minutes later, the fog slowly opened up. And that’s when the magic happened. The entire city revealed itself beneath us — the river, the old town rooftops, the bridges, and the rolling hills. It felt like watching a curtain lift on the most beautiful stage scene you can imagine. The contrast between the fog and the suddenly crystal-clear panorama was surreal. You could feel the whole crowd around us go silent for a moment, just taking it in. Even with renovations, the fortress remains a must-visit. The atmosphere, the history, the climb, and especially the views — everything comes together perfectly. If you’re in Würzburg, you simply can’t skip this place. And if you’re lucky enough to catch the fog lifting like we did, you’ll remember that moment for a long, long time.

The path to fortress is incredible and the view from top along with Main river view reminded me of Prague and the bridge resembling some what to Charles bridge. The red roofs and architecturally decorated view was splendid. I would definitely go again.

The decorations were wonderful, and the optical illusions on the ceiling were so impressive that I could have mistaken them for real sculptors. I took a guided tour in English, and they explained every detail, which was very educational. Towards the end of the tour, there were photos of the building that were devastated during World War II, and I was impressed by how well it had been restored.

Perfectly manicured and incredibly serene, they create a stunning contrast with the palace’s ornate interior. If the weather is good, take your time — the angles for photos are endless. In spring and summer, it’s absolutely magical. Overall, the Würzburg Residence is a must-visit. It’s grand, inspiring, beautifully preserved, and one of the crown jewels of Franconian history. A true UNESCO treasure and an unforgettable experience.

We spent some time in the gardens of the Residenz which you can do at no cost. The place is neatly maintained and you can get stunning views of the huge baroque palace. There's also parking on the other side of the building as well as a free public toilet nearby.

This is a beautiful place to visit. The opulence is almost overwhelming. It was a little warm inside but not unbearable. The gardens are INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend, very walkable.

This is a unesco world heritage site. Very well maintained especially given that it was damaged during the second world war. The key highlights are the glass room, ceiling art and the gardens. The total visit time would be 2-3 hrs. Do spend time in the gardens. The rooms can feel repetitive after a while with the same greek themed tapestries

Neue Residenz is the elegant palace building at Domplatz. It is a 40 room Baroque complex which houses the State Rooms and State Gallery along with a charming Rose Garden. Opening hours are 10am to 4pm daily and entry is €6 per adult. The Rose Garden can be accessed freely and affords lovely views of the lower section of the historic centre of Bamberg. Neue Residenz was constructed mostly in the 17th-century and is a fine representation of Austrian-Bohemian Baroque architecture. The State Rooms are highly decorative with outstanding ceiling frescos. The Imperial Hall fresco works by Melchior Steidl (1709) is a masterpiece, probably one of the finest of its kind in Franconia. The State Gallery is where you find European masterpieces mostly from the Baroque period. This makes for a nice art viewing experience as well. Easy to spend 45-60 minutes between the two, make sure to allow another 10-15 for the Rose Garden as part of your visit as well.

Touring the Neue Residenz and its art galleries in Bamberg is insightful and short enough to be digestable as well. The art galleries were thought-provoking. In the Residenz, I appreciated that historical context was given. The furniture and art in the rooms were arranged to convey their original feeling. I enjoyed that it gave me a glimpse into a different time-period. The entrance was inexpensive and the staff friendly. Outside the building, there is a beautiful rose garden with a stunning view over Bamberg. After the tour, I highly recommend a short rest in this garden (no entry fee and accessible without having to tour the building).

The art part of the museum was not that impressive to me, but the 3rd floor intro he residence and rooms was amazing and worth the visit.

A beautiful and historic building again close to the old town. Is right next to the historic old court and Bamberg Cathedral. Although it looks really promising from outside we couldn’t manage time to visit inside. It has a beautiful garden with mostly roses in the inner yard. Next time we would be visiting inside too.

Didn’t go inside, though the interior looks stunning. Just as pretty on the outside with its baroque architecture. Interesting shape too to admire in an L shape enclosing the Domplatz. Right by other sites such as the old court and the Dom. Absolute must visit when in town!

What a wonderful place to visit in Bamberg. The staff throughout the residence are exceptional! They all have a found knowledge of the history, architecture and paintings. Throughly enjoyed my visit here it’s definitely a must in Bamberg. €6 entry a private tour of the private rooms included, make sure you ask what time they are. The tours are only spoken in German, however if you go early enough they might translate to English as well (depending on numbers).

No if you want to get a sense of the towns history visiting the Cathedral and exploring the connected / nearby buildings is a great place to start. We visited on a busy weekend but found it easy to move through the Cathedral at our own pace on a self guided tour. There were people available to answer questions and were were free to roam respectfully. Walking down to the catacomb was also a unique way to get a sense of history through the life of the space, which has had multiple fires. The stonework and scale is massive. I’m told they have music with the pipe organ on Saturdays but don’t know the details. I can only imagine what the massive organ sounds like during services.

Beautiful cathedral. Make sure you go inside and see the only pope remains in Germany. Very cool!

Pope is buried in the back and on the square side door is relief of Jesus return. Worth the visit and cool on top of the hill.

We were not able to go inside the cathedral during our visit. Only took some pictures from outside. There was alot of constuction going on. The architecture is exquisite yet somehow feels depressing. Just my opinion. Much more beautiful things to see in Bamberg.

Bamburg Catheredal of St Peter and St George. Construction of the church was completed in the 13th century. Great to visit.

It was much bigger than I realized. Perhaps not as beautiful as other cathedrals but seeing Der goldener Reiter inside was a Highlight.

According to legend, the city's citizens built it on an artificial island in the middle of the Regnitz River after the bishop refused to grant them land. It now houses the Ludwig Collection, a museum of porcelain and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

One of the iconic images of Bamburg. Really pretty building and a really scenic view. Detailed decorative architecture and fresco-ish external painting. The best view is from the bridge that shows the front of the building. Which is by the Tower Lots of cool stuff in that area to see as well.

Probably most impressive looking Rathaus in Germany is also one of the most picturesque buildings. Originally built in 14th century, it was remodeled in 18th century in Baroque style. According to legend, it was built on the river on artificial island because the bishop refused to allocate the land, hence the bridge just straddles Regnitz River. Frescoes are very charming blending medieval and Baroque origins of city hall. Couldn’t resist going in circles around it…

Location is the only good about this place. Rooms are really small, I mean REALLY small. I've booked a room with separeted beds, got a double. When I got back the reception, to have it as I booked, the receptionis said this is all the rooms like, sepearate the beds. Yeah, maybe I should bend the space, so it would have enough room for it. We were there for 3 nights, the room never got cleaned. The whole place could use a renovation. Breakfast was ok, not good, just ok. Staff is below ok. For this price it is expensive.

The only modern/budget hotel in the old town. Ask for rooms facing the street side (better view) and ending in 15 or 19 (larger). Not the best Ibis shower that I know (they're generally excellent), the shower floor levels with the bathroom (don't wash too enthusiastically), and there's a GREY shower curtain that doesn't let light it (now that's a first-timer!).

My husband and I arrived, during Christmas Market time. The concierge's name was Abdullah, who was very professional, personable and helpful. This hotel was close to the festivities and had underground parking. Parking fee was $20 euro for the parking, which was convenient not trying to find parking elsewhere or the possibility of walking long distances, with suitcases. The room and bathroom were very clean, location mostly quiet (in the middle of the night, there were people smoking and speaking loudly outside, which wasn't the hotel's fault), beds and pillows were comfortable and the temperature pleasant. If one didn't want to eat at the hotel, Cafe Luitpold was nearby with a delicious, fresh and nutritious breakfast. If we would travel again to Bamberg, we would consider this hotel again.

The central location is by far the best feature is this Ibis Bamberg Altstadt - you are just five minutes waking from Altes Rathaus, in the heart of the old town. The installations are very clean and functional. The bathroom is extremely small and they charge for the subterranean parking, which is something I didn’t see in the website. But anyway, in terms of cost benefit, it is definitely well worth.

Everything was great here!!! Breakfast, Clean rooms, quiet warm place, park for additional Euros, but not much. Excellent Staff service as they are very nice and kind. The location is another great item, very close to the most popular city tourist attractions. I do recommend it.

Historic house well located in the center with friendly staff. While rooms are clean and big enough, they lack atmosphere (I guess that can be expected from an Ibis?) and some maintenance (dents in furniture, plastic covers of light switch and remote control broken,...). Breakfast is OK to good, paid parking available and WiFi is slow (unless you pay extra).

Very nice and alot of games and many places to set and take a rest . Recommend for all ages and very nice for family.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Kids had an excellent time and did not want to leave. Food options are great and prices are expected to be a bit higher so no surprise there. There a re variety of rides for everyone of all ages. Glad it wasn't too crowded when we visited on 03 July. My favorite ride was the boomerang. Also there a husky friendly rides for my guys who wear a couple XX's in their shirt or waistband. Can't wait to go back next weekend.

Great theme park, food and drink prices not too expensive. Rides are very varied with something for everyone.

In general we had a lovely day there. The park is not that big but offers a wide range of activities for all age groups more suited for families and children. If you are an adrenalin junky you will find a few attractions but not that a variety as in other parks. We liked that there were food stalls and toilets everywhere and the wildlife areas to calm down a bit from the excitement. Some of the attractions seem a bit dated, though they are still fun to ride. The new area that was opened this year (Asia themed) looked nice, but the dragon rollercoaster didn't live up to our expectations. (no real light show or exciting exhibits, could do much better!) If you are looking for a nice family day, this will suit you fine 😉

This is a great day out for a family with attractions suitable for all age groups. The park is well maintained and the layout offers plenty of shade and diversity. This would have been five stars from me if the prices were a bit more moderate. Kids pay full price from 1.40 m size, no family tickets and on site food, drinks and ice-cream are quite expensive. I recommend big families to bring their own food and drink.

Its a strange collection of attractions, some clearly left overs from earlier decades or second hand from other large attraction parks. But, nice atmosphere, green surroundings, not too busy. So, you pick what you like and go over and over again in the same attraction. For younger children lots of fun options. For teenagers too limited. My 13 and 15 year old enjoyed it for a couple of hours, but too few really exciting rollercoasters etc. Prices for food and drinks are high with 3 EUR for a black coffee. Zero vegan options. It's all just s bit out of date or conservative. Maybe exemplary for Bavaria?

Today we visited Geiselwind. We came from the USA and decided to see. Honestly this was one of the best experiences I have had. The rides were awesome, people were friendly. Definitely would recommend for parents with kids or even for adults!
