What a peaceful park in the middle of the city center! It’s easy to reach by public transport. You can walk, run, or sit on the benches while watching the sunset. The atmosphere is calm, with many ponds and lovely birds. People walk their dogs, and it feels very relaxing. I ate my salad here and rested for a while. The botanical garden was temporarily closed, but the park is still beautiful and definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful park with Beautiful landscape. You can find different terrains and multiple varieties of plants and flowers. The water ponds and sitting areas are great. Perfect for small picnic and children friendly. We saw light show which starts at 10pm and runs for 30 mins with different melodies.

Very good National Landmark to visit in Berlin because of different reasons. The arquitecture and history are some of the most important facts to learn at this location, but also specially the view! Take the elevator or walk up the tower, it's "only" 500 steps! Once at the top enjoy the incredible views from Hamburg! Very recommendable spot to discover in Hamburg!

I would highly recommend visiting St Michael's church as the view from the top of the tower is probably the best in the city! To go up there is a small side building to buy your tickets and any souvenirs you may want, we only got the tower tickets at around €8 each. To get there you have to climb a few sets of stairs before reaching the main elevator to the top. Once on top of the tower you'll have full 360 panoramic views of the city, just beware the bell does still ring up the top and it made my friends and I jump!

We had a blast at St. Michael's Church today! The view from the tower of Hamburg was incredible. There is an elevator but be sure to either walk up or take the stairs down so you can see the tower clock mechanics! The crypt wasn't great, but seeing CPE Bach's burial spot was awesome, especially for a music lover. 😉 The church itself is gorgeous, and we even got to hear an organ concert with all three main instruments. The acoustics were amazing – like a 5-second reverb! Go on a Saturday morning by 11:30 for the noon concert/service.

If you’re up for it, you can also go and see the other photo spot next to the “Stage Theater An Der Elbe”, 20 minutes on foot. That will bring you closer to the Elbphilharmonie building.

Absolutely do the guided tour. Frau Sabine Bendig led our group in English and it was amazing. Each room is so beautiful and meaningful right from the wallpapers to the busts and paintings. It's classy and rich without being gaudy.

The construction is incredible and the detail statues and adornments are incredible. You can enter the budding behind the fountain and enjoy the restraint located beneath the building.

I visited the Hamburg Rathaus in 2023 and it is one of the most impressive places in the city if you are into architecture. The building is truly imposing, with a massive façade and fine details that make it stand out even more, catching your eye as soon as you arrive. The central tower is very tall and can be seen from many points in the city center. Right outside the Rathaus on the Rathausmarkt there is a bronze scale model of Hamburg — a great little landmark to check out.

I loved how much attention to detail was put into everything, and the design often includes funny little scenarios—like taking a bath with a penguin or the sheep pyramid! It’s incredibly creative, yet the landscapes still feel realistic. The night and day versions of the cities are a very cool twist. Also, all the robotics and technology behind the functioning train system—without any crashes—is mind-blowing. I especially enjoyed getting a behind-the-scenes look at the newest addition. One thing to note: it’s a huge place to explore, so plan your visit accordingly to give yourself enough time to enjoy it without rushing from room to room. It can also get quite busy, so be patient and dedicate a full day if possible. There’s a café and food area if you want to take a break during your visit. Definitely recommend it! I’d love to come back and get even more lost in the details.

You could easily spend 3–4 hours here and still not catch everything. It’s not just for model train fans — it’s for anyone who appreciates creativity, craftsmanship, and a bit of magic. The nighttime lighting effects, airports, and little surprises hidden throughout make it incredibly fun for both kids and adults. It can get crowded, so I recommend booking a time slot early in the morning or later in the evening if you can. There’s a café inside with good snacks and drinks for a quick break between sections. Truly a must-see — whether you’re visiting Hamburg for a day or a week, Miniatur Wunderland is worth every minute.

Sometimes very hidden. Food is fine. Okay price. Reminded me of IKEA. There could be more washrooms. Also, the regular ticket isn't valid for reentry. That's a bit of a bummer since opening hours are until 1am.

As a model railway enthusiast, I have been looking forward to coming to Hamburg to visit Miniatur Wunderland and the truth is that it worth it! I was delighted with the visit and I want to congratulate the whole team for all the impressive work that goes into every part of the model! The technique, the operation, the quality of the details, I love everything in general, especially the airport!! I also really enjoyed being able to eat in the Miniatur Wunderland restaurant. The port is just huge! We took a tour on a boat for 20€ in order to admire the majesty of the cranes and the huge ships parked on the deck being loaded by containers. There are so many things to see but you need a guide to get the full experience

Go to the elbphilharmonie and watch the beautiful view of the port of Hamburg and entrance is free, if you have kids you can use the lift, if you boat trip at night is a bonus and costs around 20€, then a bus trip during the day also costed around 18€ for 2 hours and I must say everything was worth it

One of the favorite places for a sunday stroll. Plenty things to see. Make sure to catch the ferry 62 for a round trip on the river allowing you to see things from different perspective. Moreover there are plenty of places to eat a nice "Fischbrötchen"!

I spent 5 to 6 hours here , totally worth the commuting to this memorial. Even on a rainy day, it was worth it, it actually gave a deeper experience. Very wide big place. Advise hearing the audios of testimonies and take some time for reading to emerge into it. Altought peaceful, heavy.

Very informative and eye opening experience. The premise is spread over a very big area. So be prepared to walk a lot in the open. Unfortunately we visited on a rainy day, so couldn't explore much of the ground. But exhibition is very informative with lots of original photos and documents. Entry and exhibition are free.

It's hard to rate a place so full of sad memories and dark times. But the place itself is quiet, somber, and very respectful of its history. The displays are thoughtful and deep. I was particularly moved by the albums that were about a single person. When you read them and realize that over 100,000 passed thru the camp, it's an overwhelming moment.

This concentration camp became a prison after WWII, before becoming an exhibition centre. Therefore, there aren't many original features of the camp which remain. There is a lot of learning material available in the exhibition space, with photos and information. You have to pick up separate cards at each exhibit point if you want to read in English French or Polish. The reception desk has a map which suggests a one hour or two hour route of the camp.

Free to visit. You can still feel the menacing atmosphere. Many old buildings still intact and the exhibitions were interesting with lots of old stuff from the camps.

Recommended if you want to know more details about the World War 2 and the life of prisoners in this concentration camp. We can only imagine the effect that it left on so many families.

Perfect place for family with kids! Very cleanly maintained. Kids will enjoy definitely the park and the play area. Also there are bird shows and animal feeding sessions. Not recommended on a rainy day as the roads are muddy. You can take your own food too. Baby stroller can be taken too. Plenty of car parking available.

We had a great day at the Wildpark, definitely recommend it. The bird show was interesting and entertaining. We didn’t get to see the tigers, guess they were hiding or sleeping but we plan to go back again. The view from the top was breathtaking, if you go definitely do that too.

We had a wonderful day at the park! There is a great variety of animals to see and the landscape is beautiful, perfect for a relaxing walk. Our kid loved exploring, and the many playgrounds throughout the park were a fantastic bonus. We also rented a pull cart on-site, which is super convenient for families with young children. The only downside (as others have mentioned) is that some animals seem to stay very close to the fence, clearly waiting for food from visitors. Overall, a great experience and definitely a place we would recommend for a fun day out with family or friends!

A very nice zoological park. Lots of animals to feed and enjoy. Do be careful when walking through the deer paddock. If you stop in one spot don't feed the deer, they try to chew on your clothes! No damage was done and we had a good laugh, but our clothes went straight into the washing machine when we returned home.

We visited this house with friends and had a great time taking silly pictures and enjoying the atmosphere. It’s definitely a unique spot and perfect for a quick stop (only takes about 30 mins inside) and some laughs. That said, the entrance fee felt quite overpriced for what you get. It’s worth visiting once for the experience, but be prepared that it might not fully match the price tag.

Its an interesting place to enter. I got headache when i went it but it is fun and unique. My childrens age 8 and 3 seem to enjoy their stay there. The entrance fee is included with the parking fee.

A short trip to Lüneburg is the natural consequence after visiting Lübeck. The salt that made Lübeck rich actually came from Lüneburg! At the former harbor in the water district (Wasserviertel), you'll find this "Old Crane," a (secret) symbol of Lüneburg. This is where the precious salt ("white gold") was shipped, bringing great wealth to the city during the time of the Hanseatic League. In the Middle Ages, the crane was an important tool for lifting heavy loads, especially salt bags, onto ships or onto land—thus allowing the salt to be transported further to Lübeck through the Stecknitz Canal. Two old ships can still be seen there. And there are plenty of lovely Cafés around the square - a true tourist magnet! 🤩

The restaurant has amazing location near by the river, and it is a big one. As you can see from the pictures they have nice view and atmosphere. The staff was very warm, friendly and quick service. They serve Lavazza coffee and the cakes were fantastic, and also normal prices. Strongly recommend and if I have the chance I would definitely visit it again!

Must see for any military armor enthusiast. Took my father who had been waiting for a decade and he was not disappointed. Extensive collection of well preserved German tanks as well as Russian, British, American, and Israeli. Little English used in signage but it didn’t detract from the awesome condition these machines are in.

Very nice tank museum. Lots of tanks obviously, not only German one's. Also well supplied gift shop with many options to spend additional money 😁. Two points of critic - majority of description is in German only. It seems they are trying to improve since there were some English description but only on few places. Not many interactive options though, only one tank available to get inside and few of them cut so you can see inside and that's it.

Excellent place to visit, your inner(or current) 12 year old/adult self will thank you for making the trip! As some have mentioned, they do not have signs in English, but they do have an app on the phone that has translations for 95% of them. Definitely a must see if you're into this kind of thing (I am 😁), and plan on spending 2-3+ hours if you want to read/watch everything

Great museum for any tank enthusiast, with a diverse collection ranging from WW1 to the modern era. Most vehicles are greatly restored and the layout is easy to navigate. Payment by card is possible and the gift shop also has coffee and snacks.

The collection is quite impressive. I guess most tanks used by the Wehrmacht if not all, are in the museum. The Panzer series, the Jagdpanzer, the Tiger tank, 8.8 Flak, several PAK, they are all there. The staff is kind and very helpful. For this reason I rate the museum with 5 stars. One kind remark for future reference, the texts near each object are in German only. It would have been handy if there would be English descriptions as well. Loved it!

A huge and very informative exhibition of various tanks and other armored vehicles. Some of them you cannot see anywhere else! They have i.e. the First-world.war tank Wotan, Tigers and King Tigers as well as Abrams etc., up to tanks from the modern era. Concerning tanks, this is one of the best places in Europe! A must!

Serengeti Park Hodenhagen absolutely exceeded our expectations! We had an amazing time exploring the self drive safari. It's incredibly well organized and gives you a rare chance to see exotic animals up close from the comfort of your own car. From giraffes walking past our windows to rhinos grazing nearby, the whole experience felt like a mini African adventure right in Germany. What impressed us the most was how smoothly everything ran. Entry was well coordinated, the drive-through routes were clearly marked, and there were friendly staff around to guide and assist if needed. The animals appeared healthy and well cared for, with plenty of space to roam. But the fun doesn’t stop there. The amusement park section was a fantastic surprise. There’s a great mix of rides and attractions for both kids and adults. The park is clean, spacious, and offers a lot of variety to fill the entire day. Overall, it’s 100% worth the visit, especially for families or anyone looking to do something unique over the weekend. We left with so many great memories and can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend!

We went for the Halloween special and we really enjoyed it. It wasn't too busy, and not too scary. We were able to enjoy all the rides without a wait on most occasions. Unfortunately, both rollercoasters were not operating, I dont know if this is normal for the winter months. We stayed in a safari comfort lodge, which was clean and perfect for the three of us. It was quite small, but we were only in there to sleep. The accommodation is immediately next to the park and restaurant. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was included in our package. We didn't have time to experience the safari park this visit. We will definitely be returning next year.

An interesting park with a lot of different animals. My recommendation is to go through the park in your own car instead of the bus, as it is really safe and better for seeing the animals. Touring by car takes about 2–3 hours, after which you can visit the amusement park within the same area and spend another 3–4 hours having fun—rides, winning teddy bears by throwing into baskets, food available around. There is also a place where you can feed and pet goats, sheep, and llamas, which is truly wonderful for animal lovers. Overall, a very nice experience and recommended.

It is a really great place for a whole day family trip! The safari part is incredible, we were on our own car and haven't regretted it. You can see animals really close, they have plenty of space and look really healthy. And we loved the amusement park! Surprisingly there were almost no ques, we didn't have to wait more that 5 mins for a ride. Top place, highly recommend!

One of the best Safari park in northern Europe ! Very large, organised, clean and must visit. The rides are also a bonus and included, if you want to cover both I recommend to start early spend 09.30 to 12.30 at the safari, have lunch and spend rest of the day at the rides. The rides are for all age groups and parking facility is quite good, so can easily walk around. There is also an indoor play area for younger kids. Overall can easily spend a full day with family having fun and good memories !

We had booked the Tongasoa lodges. What they don't tell you is there is a hard deadline for check in. The reception closes at 7pm and they were available until 8pm for late check in. The keys and the room no. information are all provided only at the reception, if you come late, we aren't sure where you will need to spend the night. We were very lucky to have caught them just when they were locking up and they were kind enough to help us with our checkins after their work hours. Apart from that everything else was really nice. They rooms were nice and clean, the beds were comfortable and all amenities were functional. The breakfast the next day at Manyara restaurant was just fine. If you are a vegetarian, you will be able to get sandwich and cereals and for vegan probably just fruits and salad vegetables. Safari the next day was really fun, we went with our own cars. The animals were very close and approached the cars. I thought I read you shouldn't feed the animals, but some of the cars in front of us were feeding apples, bananas and carrots and nobody stopped them. The amusement park was also fun, it came with the safari tickets, we didn't need to pay extra.

Inevitably a very thought provoking experience. A very detailed museum with photos, video artefacts etc. Outside it was not fully clear where to go, take the free map. Nice to see Anne Frank's memorial, her story has moved me for over 50 years

Free to enter and walk around, the scale of the area is massive and you can easily spend 2-3 hours walking around. You don't truly understand the scale of the camp until you walk the grounds. Although none of the original building stand there are plenty of maps explaining certain areas dotted around the grounds. The POW cemetery is separate from the camp, roughly a 5 min walk and is now connected via a sand path that crosses the training area. All signs have an English translation and the exhibits in the museum also have English translations. There is a cafe and library on site, but I didn't visit.

Marienburg Castle is absolutely stunning — one of the most impressive medieval castles in the world. The architecture is massive, detailed, and perfectly preserved. Walking through the halls feels like stepping back in time, from the brick courtyards to the Grand Masters’ rooms and the beautiful views over the river. The museum exhibits are excellent, very organized, and full of history. The audio guide makes the experience even better, explaining every corner of this incredible fortress. It’s a long visit, but worth every minute. Highly recommended for anyone who loves architecture, history, or just wants to see something unforgettable.

On our way back from Hanover to Einbeck on a sunny summer afternoon, we made a quick stop at this beautiful castle near Pattensen. Even though it wasn’t open for tours at the time, it was absolutely worth it: easy access from the road, plenty of parking, and a big green area perfect for a short walk or just relaxing in the sun. The castle itself looks like something out of an old fairytale, with lots of authentic details and stunning views from every side. It’s a lovely and memorable stop that I’d recommend to anyone driving between Hanover and Einbeck!🏰🌳

A long overdue piece , I visited this absolutely beautiful cathedral in April, it was a cloudy morning and I was incidentally in time for Ms.Monika's famed church tour (it was around 11 am ) , and boy was i was amazed. She breathed and lived the cathedral's rich history, dark times and the subsequent restoration. Her impeccable attention to detail and careful explanation bought the cathedral to life. A proficient bi -lingual (German and English) , she did an outstanding job to weave the narrative of the journey of the cathedral from past to present. The tour itself is about an hour and free , the cathedral has stood the test of time and is a testament to faith, history and changing times of the surrounding regions. The architecture (gothic- renaissance) is a splendid remainder of the rich history and cultural heritage of the city itself. The staff and local agencies involved are doing a wonderful job of preserving this splendid piece of architecture, if Braunschweig is not on your radar, give it a try, gems like these won't dissapoint you.

Stunning City Palace with a remarkable history. The old home of the Dukes of Braunschweig, the last of whom abdicated in 1918, the Schloss was destroyed twice, first by fire and then of course in the bombing raids of the Second World War. Against massive protests it was demolished in the 1960s and finally rebuilt in the 2000s to cover a shopping mall. You can easily spot the parts that came from the original Schloss. The architecture is beautiful and the site is in the centre of the city so absolutely a must visit when in Braunschweig. There’s a small museum in the left hand wing of the palace that is free, as well as the lifts to see the Quadriga at the very top that’s also free for the time being. The entrance is just to the right of the main entrance.

In Brunswick's schlossplatz stands the stunning building known as Brunswick Palace. When I passed by this majestic monument on the route to Gaussberg Park, I must admit that it was awe-inspiring. Only when I travel to the UK do I see monuments like this. According to what I was told, this palace was constructed sometime in the 18th century and underwent a number of renovations over its existence. I have heard that it once served as a residence for the Brunswick dukes in the 18th century. Wonderful to pass past this building.

I went there by taking M830 from Goslar Hbf. There is only one or two time each hour,and need to check the time in order not to wait for a long time. The church is very beautiful and attractive. Very impressive. It’s worth visiting. There is a hotel near the church is also quite beautiful.

This little church is seriously stunning! If you're into checking out the impressive woodworking skills that showcase the local architectural style, you're in for a treat. The folks running the place might not have been the friendliest, but we still had a good time during our quick visit.

An amazing experience I would highly recommend! It's rare to get to walk in the shoes and take the same mine train the miners took back in the day, deep into the depths of this mine and UNESCO World Heritage site. The rest of the museum and exhibitions are also interesting but the mine rail tour is a must!

Very impressive! It was for me the first time to visit a mine like this, it feels you go back in time! The groups weren't that big, so you could see a lot of the mine. It was quite cold, so wear warm clothes. The train underground was an amazing experience!

Very deceiving for such an emblematic place. It is still a quite impressive place full of history which is nice to see. I expected more... First of all, there is no tour in English. For a UNESCO world heritage site, you will expect at least one tour in English. For the museum part, it is interesting but everything is disorganised and it is not appealing. Some parts are only in German. I hope one day, this place would be made more accessible for non-german speakers.

Recommend booking in advance for English tours.

I recently visited the Rammelsberg Ore Mines with my husband and had an incredible experience. We took the guided tour in English, called the Röder Stollen, led by Mr. Christian Etzrodt. He was super friendly and humorous, making the entire journey interesting and engaging. I really appreciate him going out of the way to add fun to the tour. It was an amazing and adventurous experience, and I highly recommend his tour. The reception staff were also very friendly and helpful (she helped us choose the appropriate tour), as was the lovely lady at the shop. Overall, it was a fantastic visit! We really enjoyed the experience. Oh, yes! Make sure to wear appropriate clothing and shoes. You would need to walk a lot and climb steep steps. Would not recommend this tour to people with claustrophobia, nyctophobia, panic disorder, breathing issues, pregnancy, etc. It is colder and dark and might be a bit slippery. P.S. I personally give bonus points for the "Stimmungsring" at the shop, haha

A lot of reforestation effort needed. Trails are good, Marked accordingly. Activity Center are exceptionally good. Walk in Mines and Caves, also Train to Brocken are a must visit during a trip to Harz

Nice place for hiking

In Germany, one of the best place to trekking especially in winter. I have been to Harz twice. I witness both summer and winter. I like winter more than summer. That view , snow fall, trees, everything was amazing to see... Total 18 km trek. Take some juice , fruits and food. You will definitely need it. I would recommend you guys to go and enjoy the beautiful place. I liked it.

Beautiful nature park with easy mountain peaks, stunning views and scenery. Expect some gravel paths, a few bicycle paths and lots of elephant paths. Make sure to check out the highest peaks around and go for the boulders at the end to fully enjoy the highlights this area has to offer. You're able to fly your drone here as well. Few camp grounds around, so you're able to plan your multiple day hiking trip around those.

We stayed in Harz for a good few days with friends. The amount of beautiful trails, viewpoints, ... Is incredible. In every season stunning. I suggest winter and the peak of autumn. Wake up early and enjoy. Brocken is amazing at sunset! But dont forget to take the train back on time.

I come here for 50 years now and keep coming back. It is a mesmerising area that really calms you down. There is so much to see and do, from nature and culture to outdoor activities. For me the place to go if I need a break.

Fun experience, but tickets are really expensive.

I have to admit I didn’t make it all the way to the top. After being packed in the back of an open train car for an hour, I got off and took a train back down the mountain. The 96 euro cost for two adults is an insane price to pay for no seat assignment. The regional trains are very nice, affordable, not packed, and air conditioned. The nostalgia of steam isn’t worth the hassle.

Beautiful castle with spectacular views of Wernigerode and Harz mountains. Very busy during my visit & somewhat disorganized. Could only find paid parking nearby with additional expense for a shuttle bus. However, there are several shuttle bus companies and you can't tell which is which until the driver kicks you off. But, still a nice place to visit.

Beautiful beautiful castle! Absolutely worth the visit. It has such a special atmosphere. There’s not much to see inside, but the view of the city from the top and inside courtyard are stunning. We were there on Sunday, end September, and there was no line.

Not allowed to take pictures inside, so I cannot post inside pics here. But it is incredible! The most beautiful woodwork, stunning small church, great to have a local beer in the courtyard. Worth the visit!!

It adds a touch of effort, a dash of cardio, and a full dose of “I earned this view!” Once you reach the top, all the huffing and puffing pays off. The castle is beautiful, the views are spectacular, and the photo ops are endless. Whether you're into history, architecture, or just soaking in amazing scenery — this place has it all. Pro tip: Go early or late in the day to avoid crowds and heat. Bring water, good shoes, and a bit of adventurous spirit!

Worth the walk uphill. Go early to beat the crowds. Enjoy a beer at the cafe inside. It’s a lot quieter than the one outside. On the walk down I took a detour on some of the paths. Very green and beautiful woods.

Nice views. Cafe is busy and a bit expensive. Shop is a treasure trove of second hand bits. Very dangerous approach to drive JCB diggers at speed through the site - see photo.

I would give it more stars if I could. Definitely the most beautiful castle I have visited. It's like you're back in the middle ages. And so many nice details!

Nice town with a far sized pedestrian zone . Caught a Christmas market while there. The chair lift to the pub restaurant and walking/ Trecker paths on top of the hill for small money 4.50 € up the top and back down. Parking very reasonable in the town also.

Lovely short ride to a neat mountaintop restaurant. Unfortunately the staff on duty wouldn't speak English, so a girl had her leg pinced and the operator didn't realize it, didn't understand the girl talking and gesticulating and didn't help. Hope the poor girl figured on her own how to unstick her leg. Else the short ride might have been unbearably long for her.
