Cool beach to spend your summer holidays! It has a perfect infrastructure, nice sand, warm water. For us, it's the nicest beach in Europe.

Long straight beach with white sand. Easy on the feet. The water is shallow so very suitable for kids. Coffee shops and others along the shore. I traveled there in Autumn.

I love it 🇪🇪💙 so pure and crystal clear water, soft sand and large beach. There is also nice bar and very best big sweet drinks /smoothies and great music and children were dancing also friday night .

It's not quite summer, but -18°c in deep winter! There is a lot to see on Pärnu beach, the bay is frozen, people are walking and enjoying the sunset!

Long, clean beach. Was completely empty in September. The water is very shallow: after 20m, my ankle was not completely under water. Probably a good thing if you want a photo of you walking on the water.

Nice beach, the sand is clean. there are plenty of parking spots available around, There is also a restaurant along the beach, kids activities to play with, beach volleyball or soccer infrastructures are available.

One of the best beaches I've ever been at the baltic sea. Even in summertime not too crowded. Not to compare with beaches at the German Ostsee. This in Pärnu ist classes above.

One of the beautiful place in Latvia. You can walk, you can bike, you can hike, attractions etc, good food.

A very nice place to visit. It has a diverse list if places to visit: castles, valleys, rivers, caves, bridges, etc. I have visited all regions in Lithuania and I didn't expect such nice scenaries anywhere in Baltic countries. From the castle tower you can see only trees around for multiple kilometers. There is an interesting industrial village as well (Ligatne). I recommend to visit this national park.

Nature surrounded by pine trees and with the nice River Gauja running through it. One takes the train from Riga Central Station to Cēsis, which itself is very charming with the old ruins there set in a lovely setting. There are also many buses per day, more than trains. Maybe train up and bus back, or vice versa. I did a quick 3hr walk from the town to the river, but tracks are very poorly marked. I ended up walking along an old overgrown logging or access trail, coming out accidentally onto the back of someone's property. The boundary to this property was, on one side, marked by a fence with evil looking signs saying , 'entry forbidden', in Latvian and Russian. The meaning was rather clear in any event. Was happy to leave that particular spot. I think if one takes a bit more time and finds the best trail, it's nice to do, but nothing special.

A stunning national park. I hope to have a chance to visit it in different seasons.

i visited here on a day-trip from Riga. It's 2.80 by bus and about 90 minute journey. The main highlights are Turaida castle, the hiking trails and I particularly recommend Paradise Hill.

Great place for a day long walk with some lovely bits of nature and history all around. Trail is easy to follow.

A great medieval castle. We bought a family ticket for only 5€ and it was definitely worth it! The castle is a nice showcase of medieval gothic architecture. You can access two towers and one of the walls, from which there is a nice view of the town and surrounding nature. Around the castles you can find information checkpoints, which offer insight into the castles history from its founding by the Livonian Brothers of the Sword in 1207 to the most recent renovation. There is a lot of places where you can just sit and soak up the atmosphere. Staff is friendly.

This place is a must visit when in Latvia/ Riga! Easy to visit with a 1hr train ride. The walk from the train station is beautiful and much scenery to see along the way. The castles themselves are legit. Kid and family friendly. Feels as if you traveled back in time 🙏🏽

We had a day trip and were presently surprised at how near the castles were to the train station, 10 minutes walk. You get value for money here as there are 2 castles on the same site ,the old and the new. They have some lovely independent shops on site selling local ,and handmade products, do try the Hot Raw Cacao .

North of Sigulda, on a small rocky plateau that rises some 70 metres above the Gauja River valley, stands the impressive ruins of the Livonian Order Castle. The castle was built in 1207 by the Livonian Brothers of the Sword, the knightly order that was founded to bring about the conversion of the Latvians, Livonians and Estonians (by means of a crusade). These Brothers of the Sword were not the most obedient knights, as they regularly clashed with Bishop Albert of Riga (whose castle -Turaida Castle- can be seen on the other side of the Gauja River). The order was dissolved by the Pope in 1237, after only 35 years, and was incorporated into the Teutonic Order in the form of a separate branch, the Livonian Order. Since 1432 Sigulda Castle was the residence of the Land Marshal of the Livonian Order, the second highest officer of the order. In the 16th, 17th and early 18th centuries, war and destruction alternate with peace and reconstruction, until the castle is finally no longer restored and from the early 19th century it is cherished as a romantic ruin (albeit with some reinforcements and adjustments). The 20th and 21st centuries are mainly characterized by historical and archaeological research, and renovations to protect the ruin from decay. The Sigulda Medieval Castle is therefore an interesting and beautiful ruin that you should definitely visit!

Worthy a stop if you are in the neighborhood, otherwise not worthy the trip. The new castle is a modern residence, the old one partially scenic ruins used (as it was the case today) for event and cocnerts

Great place to visit, also had cafe and ice-cream shop. Multiple little units for clothing, jewellery, leather, woodwork and pottery. Was great to look at options and at a wide range of prices.

Large, old and sad. Gutman Cave is the largest cave in the Baltic States, not quite in depth (18.8 metres), but in entrance (12 metres wide and 10 metres high). The cave was formed at the end of the last ice age, when meltwater eroded its way through the sandstone some 10,000 years ago. Gutman Cave is one of Latvia's oldest tourist attractions, with inscriptions dating back to the 17th century. It is still a popular tourist destination, so it can get busy at times. It is also the location of the sad end of the Rose of Turaida. For hikers, the cave (and the entire area) is a great destination or stopover.

We visited Gutman’s Cave in the evening, and it turned out to be a great decision. There were no other tourists around, which made the experience feel calm and almost magical. We had read that the place can get very crowded during the day, so going later allowed us to enjoy it at our own pace without the usual hustle. The cave itself is interesting to see — not particularly large, but it's steeped in history and legend, which adds a special charm. The walls are covered in old inscriptions and carvings, some of which date back centuries. It’s worth spending a little time reading about the stories and myths associated with the cave before you visit. The area around the cave is part of a beautiful park with many well-marked walking trails. It's a great place for a peaceful walk in nature, and there's plenty to explore. The surrounding forest and riverside paths make it ideal for a longer hike or just a relaxed stroll. Parking near the cave (200 meter) costs €2.50, but when we went, the office was closed and the barriers were open, so we didn't have to pay. This might not always be the case. All in all, Gutman’s Cave is definitely worth a visit, especially in the evening if you want to avoid the crowds.

Took the cable car and walked down. Wish we'd taken full day to walk and discover all the wood area before reaching the cave. It was a really sad story about the cave but what a magnificent place

It who was an interesting place, it's only a small cave with a lot of inscriptions, Dennis was a walk around the park it was not worth the one hour drive.

We hiked to the largest cave in Latvia to enjoy the natural formation. Sadly, several people have chosen to carve their initials or names in the stone to detract from the natural beauty. These engravings become part of the cave’s history now Worth the stop on a hike.

Cool cave and very accessible from road without any ascent or climbing. I walked here from train station, takes about 20-25 minutes with the highest staircase I've ever seen. Not far from the castle.

A truly peaceful and picturesque place. The castle itself is modest, but the surrounding gardens are stunning — beautifully designed with thoughtful planting and a perfect harmony of colors and textures. Walking here feels like stepping into a living painting, a real moment of serenity. Huge compliments to whoever created and maintains this landscape!

We visited in November. Turaida castle is really worth visiting. When you arrive to a parking lot, there are plenty of spots to park. You can pay for it in the museum which is like a minute away and you don't have to go back to put it in your car, just take it with yourself, it costs 2€. The ticket for the castle was just 6€ which is honestly not much, we saw many castles in different countries which where not that worth as this one and were more expensive. Except of the castle you can visit many other places and building here, like the church, the souvenir shop or the jewelry shop which offers plenty of beautiful hand made jewelries. Turaida castle itself is right now in reconstruction but was really beautiful. You can go inside every door which you can find, meaning that you can see plenty of expositions with stuff found during excavations, see some photographies, old armors, go up in the tower to see the whole castle and it's surroundings. The whole place is quite wast so you can spend there hours walking around, enjoying the atmosphere.

Beautiful castle with stunning views from the tower. Plenty areas to explore, many old building with a person in each building to explain more details, great information too. There are parks and pathways to explore. Easy access to toilets. And we were luck as there was live music concert on the stage next to castle.

Our group of 11 travelers from 5 countries journeyed to the castle complex Today. The guided tour from the entrance through the church as the guide told the story of Rosa de Turaida fave full delta to the castle. The small museum shows the reconstruction of the castle that allows visitors to climb 139 steps to the top for a va race point of the complex and the greenery

Nice castle to visit plenty of info and amazing view. The exhibition carries on in all the other buildings around the park (church, little houses…) - make sure to save enough time to visit the whole park and all these different exhibitions, it’s a lot to take in but it’s worth it.

In case you're planning to visit Turaidas Castle for the first time DO NOT follow your google maps. Instead take the parking spot on the 'mountain' (if you're driving a car) and cross the street to get tickets in the Museum entrance. You can pay by parking at the Museum register (same place where you can get tickets). Also the cost for tickets change twice a year — once in Autumn and once in a Spring.

Great place! Didn't find the cafe, but found the picnic tables and signs pointing to where one probably was - might have been closed after 3pm. Very pretty, scenic, rustic. I can imagine many a mediaeval or period movie might have been filmed here

The museum was bigger than we expected. We spent there more than an hour just walking amongst all the houses and the trees. The ticket costs just 6€ and it's absolutely worth it. You can enter few houses and I loved how the staff had a local clothes on them 😊

Wanted to go here ever since we booked a trip to Riga and it didn’t disappoint! Just wow. Stunning scenery, spectacular buildings and an incredible, special, peaceful place. We went on a midweek day when it was fairly quiet, and felt very lucky to experience it in such peace and quiet. Hands down the best thing we did on the trip, and would recommend to anyone. Would love a revisit on the craft weekend!

Peaceful and interesting. Beautiful nature and exhibits. You will need a couple of hours and I would recommend getting there in the morning before it gets too hot. There is a lot of walking but it is mostly flat and accessible. They also had a very welcoming cat near the gift shop.

Interesting and educational. The area was quite large with lots to see, so it took a few hours to walk through it all (and my feet were complaining towards the end). Many buildings were closed, but I didn't mind it too much since the weather was good and enough were open to get a sense of the indoors. The forest was beautiful too, and I even found some bilberries! The bus ride from near the city centre took about 40 minutes, but it was worth it.

A very nice museum of an historic Latvian village. The place looks like it was taken from a fairytale. On the entrance you get a map which takes you to visit every part of the village, in each part there is an explanation also in English. There are clean restrooms in few places and a little restaurant in the middle of the village.

One of the best experiences we had in Riga. It’s a bit outside the city, but there are busses that you can take. It’s well worth your time. Be prepared for a lot of walking. When we visited, the restaurant was not open so I recommend packing a lunch.

Visiting this zoo was quite enjoyable. In the beginning of the zoo, there were a couple of very small animal enclosures, which made us feel a little sad for the animals. After getting more into the zoo it became better and better. The tigers and rhinos were very cool to see, and the aquarium was enjoyable as well. There were also a couple of cool snakes and turtles. We had seen everything of the zoo in around 2,5-3 hours, which is a good amount of time. We liked that it wasn't too big, but it also wasn't very small. The entrance fee is low, which is great. The only downside is that that were quite a lot of the same type of animals, and there wasn't that much variety. Nevertheless the price/quality balance is really good, as we found it worth our money

We decided to take a walk through the zoo on a cold, rainy autumn day and were pleasantly surprised. There were very few people, but we still got to see many animals. They all looked healthy and well cared for, which was great to see. The only thing as others have already mentioned is that the hippo really needs a better home.

If you love zoo, you must visit it. As an animal lover, visit it frequently. There is wide variety of animals, starting from exotic ones (tigers, lions, puma etc) and ending with casual ones (owls, donkeys, utters etc). Animals live in spacious places. And since there are so many animals, you can always find there new animal babies. 🎉

Quiet and just fine zoo, there was low amount of visitors, so it is peaceful. There are different animals, there were a few I did not expect to see, some of the animals look exhausted. For tourists coming take in mind there is only a few information boards about animal facts and description on english, mostly Latvian only. Worth a visit if you haven't been to a zoo in a long time and/or want to hang out in a park. Tickets' prices are not friendly, they cost more than in Prague for example, which had much better zoo.

We visited at October. No waiting and animals were active. Easy to get there with public transport. Big area so prepare to spend whole day there!

The Riga Zoo is such a nice surprise! It’s set right in the forest, so walking around feels more like a nature walk with animals along the way. There’s a good mix of animals, the place is well kept, and it’s really relaxing to spend a few hours here. Great for families or just a quiet escape from the city.

It was OK..nothing really amazing. Seen a horse had very little space come parried to a few goats. Two Hippopotamus had earned no space to move. Could have been more water points for drinking water. Also some building could do with cleaning gutters. Not very well maintained. Bench could do with a clean...

Access gravel road is not the best and you have to pay parking, but the area is kept nice with good views.

Very nice place with many wooden paths. We experienced a beautiful sunset at this place. If you come with a car there is a paid parking lot: 2€ per one hour.

Public beach, not crowded, but there are no toilets. Overall, the beach is clean and well-maintained, but there are only a few small spots that offer shade. Therefore, if you want shade during the day, bring a sun umbrella with you.

Another amazing beach walk. You are walking along the beach on the wooden path with the option to come down to the actual beach. There's a children's playground. The view is spectacular.

Museum with interesting exhibition (please be attentive to details :-)) surrounded with nice activities for kids and grownups. You can find several trails around the museum as well. There are 2 options for trails through the magical forest - shorter and longer trail where longer reaches see what is absolutely a must if you like walking. Nice place to spend a day!

Nice place to visit but anyway a little overrated. Price isn't worth it but to visit this place once is ok. Would be somewhat boring for really small kids. Big exhibition of lots of things, even those that are not about Münchhausen but still interesting. Lots of taxidermy animals ))) For kids would be interesting to play outside - there is for additional fee a big wooden ship made as children playground. Haven't been on wooden track - decided not to pay that crazy price just for a walk in the woods ))))

Charming museum, beautiful grounds and playground with huge ship in the middle. My kids 5 and 9 had a blast there! We didn’t have time to go through the forest to the beach but wil come back!

Beatiful small museum , well organised about Munchhausen , second in the world. Everything about Munchhausen on a first floor, wax museum of Latvian celebrities and historic figures on a second. Huge playground for kids to enjoy. Fee applies. 1 km long walk and walk to the Baltic beach with white sand. Beautiful view. Interesting place to visit.

Kids playground is dangerous and run down, no maintenance done in along time, poorly made repairs possessing serious risks of injury. Forest trail has seen better days.

Very cool! The taxidermy was really cool to look at, the staff was very nice and friendly - even had a nice chat. The wax people were a little creepy, but i loved it. Especially Hercogs Jēkabs, felt like he was lookin right back at me, looked into my soul. Overall, great experience.

Very nice hotel in an excellent location. The beach is close by. The general appearance of the hotel is modern. We had a room with a balcony with a great sea view. Our beds and air conditioning were ok. The spa with a good selection of different slides was a nice experience. The customer service was good. The breakfast did not fully meet expectations due to the limited selection of warm meat dishes. Usually just small sausages and fried bacon. The shower in our hotel room was a big disappointment because of too weak water pressure. However, the overall rating is very good.

There has definitely been a downgrade with this spa hotel. They don’t clean the rooms during your stay, even if you stay for the whole weekend. Generally the cleanness could be better! Spa area is little bit outdated, I didn’t see anyone cleaning the area during the stay. There is one bar but there is only one worker and often the bar is even empty and you have to wait for a long time for someone to come. Also - our baby got awful rash from the pools. Next day we saw that the pool in sauna area was closed.. maybe there was something in the water then. Breakfast wasn’t very good either. I wouldn’t visit it anymore, I think there are better spas in Pärnu!

Spa Hotel Tervise Paradiis is an excellent destination for both relaxation and family fun. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and offer beautiful views of the sea, making it a truly peaceful place to unwind. The breakfast buffet is good, with a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. The water park is a major highlight, especially for kids and families. It features four exciting slides and several fun activities, making it easy to spend hours there. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and stress-free. One thing to be aware of: the water park uses a high amount of chlorine. If you have any sensitivities, allergies, or skin issues, it might be something to keep in mind. I experienced a bit of a reaction myself, so just a heads-up for others in a similar situation. Aside from that, everything was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a family vacation or a calm seaside escape.

I really enjoyed the hotel. We had a rainy week during our stay at Parnu so the water park was extra useful. The kid really liked it. The small indoor play room was also great for the kid. The room was clean. The food in the hotel isn't very tasty. Not in the buffet or the restaurant.

Nice rooms. Waterpark beside hotel is excellent. Hotel spa treatments were nice and good. Basic breakfeast. Terrible buffet dinner, price was 26e! Neptun grill was also good and fast food.

Visited spa - took sauna package with spa. Uselessly spent extra 15€. Saunas were full, small, impossible to use. Spa/water centre was full as well, with poor hygiene- floors were never mopped, dirty. Do not remove shoes! Be careful in the pools -tiles are extra slippery. For the price that we paid and gas money from LV it was not worth it.

Convenient for families, beach front, fun waterpark, not very clean or fancy, too expensive for what it offers. I liked: 1. Big rooms, family rooms (2 connected rooms) are great for families. Big balconies. Clean, modern rooms. 2. Waterpark is very fun for kids and adults. My 4 yo loved the slides and the baby pool. 3. Location on the beach, near the bog. But a 25 min walk to the old town. 4. Big parking (but not free) 5. Dinner buffet was good quality, although not many options. But it included soft drinks and coffee. Would not get the half board option again, but it's good for families with kids, for convenience. Didn't like: 1. Cleanliness is lacking significantly. Didn't see any staff cleaning anything during our stay. It gets very dirty and messy by the evening. Aquapark is run down, old and rusty. Needs a renovation. 2. Aqua bar - just one person is serving, cashing, preparing the food. Big ques, not efficient. 3. All AquaPark feels understaffed. Nobody supervising slides. Nobody cleaning. It's a no man's world. 4. Hotel communal areas need a serious renovation, it feels like an old communist hotel. 5. Average breakfast. 6. For the huge price paid I expected a sea view room, but got rooms looking over pipes and ventilations. Very disappointing. Also very noisy at night. 7. Weird dinner hours 17-19. Inconvenient for my family. 8. Sauna world is a joke. It's very small and crowded, only has 5 saunas, a small pool and an onsen. Would not pay again, you can use saunas in locker area. Also cleaning lady came to close saunas at 21 00!! 9. Everything opens at 11, very inconvenient, especially on a rainy/cold day and closes at 21 30, although it says everywhere and on their site that closing hour is 22 00.

We visited a small alpaca farm that had just a few animals, but it was still a pleasant experience. The alpacas were friendly and gentle, and it was nice to see them up close. While the farm is quite small and doesn’t have many animals, it makes for a quick, relaxing stop if you enjoy nature and want to meet these calm creatures.

Definitely recommended! Alpacas are so cute and friendly. You can also buy food (carrot) and feed them. The area itself is not too big, which was good for us and is good if you’re with kids. We were two adults and we enjoyed the time spent either alpacas. Very nice farm.

Such a wonderful place with many animals (sheep, alpacas, llamas, goats..). You can buy carrots and feed them. The staff were really nice and they told us more about the animals.

Very nice place to visit while in Pärnu County. Friendly staff and over 200 animals there. Llamas, Alpacas, sheep, rabbits, chicken, Ask questions and very helpful workers there will tell you awesome storys 😊😊😊 100% worth the visit if you love animals. I do!

Good number of Animals- sheep, rabbits, Lama on the fields. Would recommend to keep food options such as sandwiches, salad and fruits in cafeteria for visitors:)

Such a cute place to go to. It’s just a short walk around the farm. Children love this, would recommend.

The staff were very friendly and told us many interesting things about the animals. The animals were sociable, had big pastures and looked very well kept. It seems they take very hood care of their animals!🦙

Be aware!!! For €19 per person you get a lift to 21st floor - where you can buy other “experiences” like silly pictures or VR whilst sitting on the chair. There apparently is some history exhibitions but it was unfortunately closed on the day of our visit and nobody bothered to tell us beforehand. Still full price ticket. They are showing “art” of a lunatic and you can buy an espresso for €3.50 at 22 floor. So for €19 you are taking a lift to see dirty carpet, dirty toilets and not working floor windows (except 1) - absolutely pathetic. Now I know why they do not accept ICOM cards - they would have to be ashamed for what they are actually selling. Absolute SCAM - as those places are everywhere in the world free - when you are having a restaurant or cafe in the top where you can spend your money ((

Very big disappointment! So many things are wrong about this place. When you buy a single full admission ticket online it’s 18 euros, same ticket on the spot will be 19 - cashier didn’t give heads up about it while selling the tickets. There’s almost no exhibition, really just several photos and fun facts, all looked old and used, and seemed that designed for children, not adults. There’s a small exhibition on the 2nd floor, also auditorium, then on the floor 21 there’s 360 degrees observation spot (not impressive, same old and used) and on the floor 22 - restaurant and small part of the open terrace where you can walk behind the wire fence. Overall, really overpriced place, and I cannot understand why do many positive reviews… We do not recommend it!

Really enjoyed our visit here! Definitely worth taking the time to see, especially if you make sure it's on a clear day. Wonderful 360 views of the entire city and great educational areas about the tower.

The TV Tower offered good views and a simple layout for exploring the upper levels. The outlook across the city was impressive and worth the trip, but the experience itself felt limited. Beyond the observation deck, there was not much in terms of interaction or engaging features, and it could easily be developed further to make it more memorable. Staff were polite and efficient, and the tower was well maintained, though the overall visit felt short. It was worth seeing once for the view, yet the tower itself could make more of its space and history to improve the experience.

The Tallinn TV Tower is a very interesting and modern place to visit. The highlight is the edge walk — you can even take photos sitting on the edge, which is such a unique experience! Our guide Annika made the tour really fun with her great explanations about Tallinn. Definitely worth it!

The Skywalk at Tallinn TV Tower is an unforgettable experience! Walking along the edge, 160 metres up, was both thrilling and a bit nerve-wracking—especially with the wind, but the views are absolutely spectacular. Sitting on the edge and dangling your feet over the ground is something I’ll never forget. If heights aren’t your thing, you can still enjoy the views from inside, check out interactive displays, or try the VR flying experience. The staff were friendly, the gift shop was reasonably priced, there’s plenty of parking, and the panoramic views over the botanic gardens and the view to Tallinn and beyond are amazing.

Got a combined family ticket for botanical gardens and tv tower - 39 euro. Not expensive and nice way to spend a relaxed afternoon

If you want a nice overview of Estonian art, definitely worth visiting. Additionally the building/architecture is incredible. Surprised not to see more visitors here. Staff was friendly and respectful.

The Estonian Art Museum is located in an extremely interesting building in the middle of a beautiful park. Its art exhibition is split among 3 levels with level 5 currently being in renovations. Level 3 hosts incredible and stunning art pieces including the heads of multiple known people and their voice in a choir. Level 4 also hosted nice paintings however the last part of the exhibition was utterly horrifying. It included absolutely disgraceful, disgusting and unsettling displays of humans running around naked. As well as other terrifying displays which make you feel sick (black liquid coming out of a mouth of a human etc). It was gore and uncomfortable for a normal human being. I been to many modern art displays before and nothing ever compared to what I have seen there. I do not recommend bring children to the last part as it will leave them with scars for life.

It is big, beautiful. The art from old times is especially beautiful. You can put Your stuff/backbag in the free compartment boxes and then have free hands to enjoy art.

Beautiful park and easily reachable with public transportation. It has really nice walkable paths and hosts several museums. It's a must for a several days itinerary in Tallinn. With gloomy weather this park gives Irish/Scottish vibes.

A must when visiting Tallinn which in turn is a lovely city in a forward looking small country of Estonia. Its people has suffered from Russians for centuries yet they do not give up. The park is beautiful, and the city wall of the old city, are the two of the sights with rich histories.

This is a beautiful scenic park in Tallinn with manicured gardens and ample green spaces. I highly recommend visiting!

Wonderful little chalet with an impressive art exhibition. We were there at the special exhibition about flowers in art, and the paintings were stunning. Lots of Breughels, and dozens of other paintings from old Dutch masters. They also have a very interesting "Wunderkammer", with all kinds of curiosities, like the skeleton of a mermaid, or a two-headed chicken. Also, the architecture of the building itself is quite beautiful, inside and outside. There also is a courtyard in the back, where in summer lots and lots of flowers will bloom. And in front of the chalet, there is an extensive park.

This is one of the best art museums I have visited. There was a lot of good artwork, and the pieces were very well displayed. The building itself is beautiful, so even if I had not enjoyed the art, I would have enjoyed the decoration of the rooms. You must leave bags in the lockers. These are free to use. There is a small cafe. There are toilets. These were in a clean condition. There was a small souvenir shop. My only complaint is that when purchasing one of the beautiful cards, I was not provided with an envelope to go with it. I did query this and was told they do not have any to fit the card, so now I have a card I cannot post. The cashier was also rude. You have to buy tickets to enter. There is a ticket desk or a machine in the main entrance. The last Wednesday of each month has a reduced ticket price. You get free entry with a Tallinn Card. There is partial access for people who use a wheelchair. There is a lift, and portable ramps are used for some steps. The Russian art collection on the third floor is not accessible. There are accessible toilets There were tactile plans in the museum.

It is an amazing historical and beautiful museum with a garden at the front. It is worth visiting, taking photographs, and one can walk to the nearby parks.

Visited in November. Nice colorful castle with a connecting garden and park. Lovely to have a stroll around to get away from the city. Tram Line 1 stops just outside the park for easy access to and from the city. You can also walk straight down to the sea and the Russian monument there.

Beautiful location, the gardens are gorgeous, the building is nice, not a lot of things to see inside though….just a few rooms with good art collection and gorgeous fireplaces.

The Kadriorg Palace is a stunning Baroque masterpiece, surrounded by peaceful gardens that make the visit even more special. Inside, the Kadrioru Kunstimuuseum offers elegant rooms and a refined collection of European art. The interiors are beautifully preserved, and the atmosphere feels calm and sophisticated. A must-visit spot in Tallinn for art lovers, history fans, and anyone who enjoys charming architecture.

If you love history and nature, this is a "must visit" for you. Take a ride on a ferry, ca 15 min from Helsinki and spend a day on this island. I suggest taking your time, the whole day, if you want to explore the island. There are cafes and restaurants, if you get tired or hungry. There is a supermarket, where you can get coffee and warm pastries. There are museums which are defenitely worth visiting. Walk along the shore and enjoy amazing views. Go explore the tunnels for sure, if you dare. Have a picnic if you wish. There are so many things you can do and see. The guide is also available. WCs are everywhere. It is easy to spend the whole day there and swith off the rest of the world.

I had heard great things about Suomenlinna and I wasn’t disappointed! Such an adorable little island. It is filled with history and just lovely to walk around. Such easy access to get to, you don’t want to miss this on your next visit in Helsinki:)

Frequent ferris daily to reach the island. Enjoy the tranquility time travel walk. We arrived there before daybreak, the unmanned visiter information center was open, supplying warmth, wifi, toilets and maps.

Suomenlinna is an incredible place to explore and soak up Finnish history. The island is full of historic fortifications, museums, and scenic walking paths, with stunning views of the sea and Helsinki’s harbor. It’s peaceful and easy to wander around, with plenty of spots to relax and take photos. Perfect for a day trip, whether you’re interested in history, nature, or just enjoying a unique part of Helsinki. Highly recommended! Also the ferry’s to and from the island are efficient and come very often. Also free with the HSL transport ticket!

Fantastic day out to this set of small Islands, good restaurants and cafes with lots to see. Cost of the ferry €3.20 one way. Free entry into the Islands, bring the kids and be prepared to do a lot of walking the ferry takes 15 minutes, plenty of toilets everywhere.

Only fragments of the fortress survive, mostly stretches of old stone walls and a few scattered pieces of artillery such as catapult remnants, yet the site is still a great place to wander and enjoy sweeping sea views. It can be extremely windy and cold, even in summer, so bring a sweater or other warm layers. If you like open landscapes mixed with a touch of history, it is well worth a visit.

Half day trip destination when in Helsinki. Fairyboat ride back and forth, couple of restaurants over there, really beautiful nature, well preserved history elements... All in all excellent destination to escape from the city crowds and chaos

It is a pleasure to visit, and it is quite outstanding. There are many tourists. We can go inside but it is a small Orthodox-style church. If you are not particularly interested in churches, tou can still appreciate the exterior and the city view from its terrace.

Uspenski Cathedral is a striking and beautiful landmark that you can’t miss when walking along the harbour. Its impressive red-brick exterior and golden domes stand out against the skyline, and the closer you walk towards it, the more magnificent it becomes. You can also enter the cathedral, which adds to the experience. I visited on a weekday morning, and it was already lively with many tourists. Wandering around the area and taking in the details of the architecture was a lovely way to spend time. During my stay in Helsinki, I found myself noticing the cathedral almost every day, and it left a lasting impression on me. A must-see spot when visiting the city.

Truly wonderful architecture! I made sure to add this as a stop on my trip to Helsinki, Finland! The walk to get to the cathedral was easy (I just used the map on my phone). The views of the surrounding areas are great once you climb the stairs! This is definitely worth the trek!

It is located close to the Helsinki waterfront, and I was personally captivated by its brick-red color. Around 700,000 bricks were used for its construction, brought from the Bomarsund fortress in the Åland Islands. 2 | The church features 13 gilded domes, symbolizing Christ and the twelve apostles. The main dome rises to a height of 33 meters. 3 | You have to climb several steps to reach it, but it’s worth it. Entrance to the church outside of service times costs €5.

The architecture is truly astonishing! It has various charms by being viewed from different angles. The location is great and can be accessed by multiple walkways. The interior is beautiful and very well maintained, and you can learn about the history of the cathedral by easily scanning the QR code for the digital guide.

I mean it’s a square alright. Very nice buildings around. Obviously topped by the big dog, namely the Helsinki cathedral. No fee to enter obviously, it’s a public area. The downside was that there was work ongoing in the cathedral which kind of dulls the photos but hey, it was still great

Visited Senate Square during our time in Helsinki 🇫🇮 — it’s one of the main tourist spots in the city and the starting point for the hop-on hop-off bus 🚌. The square is clean, spacious, and offers a stunning view of the iconic Helsinki Cathedral ⛪️. A beautiful place to sit, take photos, and soak in the city’s calm charm. Definitely a must-visit! 🌤️

Senate Square, located in the center of Helsinki, Finland. The square is the oldest part of Helsinki and is Europe's most beautiful square. The large white building at the back, with green dome is Helsinkis cathedral, constructed between 1830 and 1852, as a tribute to Emperor Nicholas I of Russia. It is covered due to repairs and maintenance. Alexander II's statue, is in the center of the square, remembered for supporting Finnish Economy. The square is surrounded by neoclassical buildings like Govt. Palace, Helsinki's university building etc. Quiet awesome I must say, fabulously so.

We did the introduction walking tour of the gpsmycity, the tour was 3.1km in length and took us a few hours to complete, including taking pictures and stops. The tour started right here at the square and and ended at the Temppeliaukio Rock Church. It was a good introduction and the scenery was marvelous.

Visited Senaatintori, the historic heart of Helsinki, but unfortunately much of the square was under renovation during our visit. The main cathedral and surrounding buildings were partially covered with a temporary facade, which made it hard to fully appreciate the architecture. The square itself is spacious and historically significant, and it would normally be a stunning spot to admire Helsinki Cathedral, government buildings, and cobblestone layout. Worth visiting if you’re in the area, but be aware that the view may be obstructed during renovations.

This is the main square in Helsinki. It’s not very big but it’s definitely a must see. Apart from the statue of Alexander II you can see the most important buildings of the city from here.

Big and beautiful park. One of the most beautiful places to walk in Helsinki and is incredibly central. You can go nearly anywhere from this park and Biennial pieces can be seen here. The history of the park could be found in the pictures i provided which is pretty interesting.

Central Boulevard park with some local artists being featured and some live performances. There are plenty of ice cream stands lining the boulevard as you walk through and it is very scenic with many green plants. Excellent when it is nice out. Still pretty good when it is not.

A lovely experience. Sit and watch, listen to live music, hear Helsinki around you, vibrant and full of life. A beautiful city park.

Our group of 10 strolled through this park, entertainment venue, and sculpture collection twice. The greenery is great for breathing fresh air, sitting in the benches or reading the history of the park. I enjoyed the statues

Located in the heart of Helsinki, this area is surrounded by plenty of shops and restaurants. You can visit Stockmann, a large nearby mall, or stop by Starbucks or the Moomin Shop. There’s also an Arabica store where you can find some cute Moomin-themed items. A great place to explore and enjoy the city’s atmosphere!

Esplanade Park is a very popular small park in the city centre of Helsinki. At the other end of the park there is famous Swedish Theater with its restaurants, and at the other end there is even more famous restaurant Kappeli. On a beautiful summer day, Esplanade Park is full of people sitting there, eating ice cream or drinking a beer or a cola and enjoying Finland's all too short summer.

Esplanadi is a lovely spot right in the heart of Tampere. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, as it is clean, well kept, and full of life during the summer months. There is a good balance between green space and places to sit and relax, which makes it ideal for a coffee break or simply watching people go by. The location is perfect too, with shops nearby and close to the main attractions. I give it 4 stars mainly because although it is beautiful, it can become quite crowded during the busiest hours, which slightly affects the peaceful vibe. Still, it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the city.

Beautiful church. Unfortunately, it was being renovated on the exterior when I visited... so that took away from the overall astetics. Also, the inside was a little stark compared to other cathedrals I've visited in Europe, but I still think it's worth a visit if you are in Helsinki.

Beautiful cathedral! Make sure to also visit the nearby Uspenski Cathedral. Unfortunately, this one was under construction, so we couldn’t experience it fully, but the restoration work was covered nicely, giving a good sense of its full appearance. The interior was lovely — definitely a must-see if you’re already in Helsinki!

We had a special experience visiting Helsinki Cathedral as they were displaying Luke Jerram’s MARS within the cathedral. Cathedral is beautiful in itself but seeing the scaled replica of Mars with the sound track made for a unique experience. The cathedral is something to see when visiting Helsinki

Helsinki Cathedral is a landmark right in the heart of the city, and it is truly breathtaking at any time of day. Morning, afternoon, or night — the atmosphere changes beautifully, and each visit feels different. You can climb the steps and enter the cathedral, where the calm and solemn interior offers a moment of quiet reflection. During my stay in Helsinki, I found myself visiting almost every day. From 28 November onwards, a Christmas market is held in the square in front of the cathedral, making the area even more lively and festive. My schedule didn’t allow me to attend this year, but watching the preparations made me want to return and experience it in the future. A stunning place that never fails to impress.

It was a pleasant tourist attraction with a large square. Regrettably, several areas were undergoing renovation during our visit. However, there were still a considerable number of tourists present.

Helsinki Cathedral and it truly lives up to its reputation as one of the city’s must see landmarks. The white neoclassical building looks stunning both up close and from the Senate Square below. Inside it’s peaceful and beautifully simple a nice place to pause for a moment away from the city noise. Don’t miss the view from the steps outside; it’s a perfect spot to sit, take photos, and just enjoy the atmosphere.

Beautiful from the outside but undergoing many renovations that make it very inconvenient and hard for foreign travelers to find any services. When I finally found the VR office, employees ignored me until they finished their personal conversation. The beautiful wooden doors are a major pain when it comes to getting through them with luggage-wish they were automated

The Airport Express train stops here which is right at the city centre. Navigation can be slightly confusing but you’ll eventually find your way around it. Stunning architecture as well!

Helsinki Central Station This is the last stop coming from the airport. As many cities in Europe, this train station have restaurants, restrooms and other amenities. This is the main station in Helsinki. The main entrance is beautiful.

Beautiful, effective, easy to navigate (even if you only speak English), obviously very central! We arrived in from Tampere and had no issues finding our way out and to our hotel, easy peasy!

Very large main train station to the center of Helsinki. Plenty of ways to get here and relatively easy to read the signs to figure out where to go. Trains and terminal are relatively well covered so you only need to venture out occasionally in the bad weather to get to your train.

Railway station is very historic and the architecture is fabulous. And it comes with all the modern facilities like locker storage, info center, VR office, and other shops like subway starbucks and fancy restaurants. The waiting area is huge, however benches are limited which are mostly occupied with drunk people if you come late or early morning. Connected to most of the areas with metro and tram and also a cab station.

The outside of the station is stunning with its clock tower and the Lantern Bearer statues. Inside it was clean, light and airy. There were places to eat, luggage storage and toilets. You do have to pay for the toilets. Cards are accepted. I did not use them, so I cannot comment on cleanliness. There was a ticket office. For HSL trains, you can choose your zones and tap on when you board. AB tickets are valid for 80 minutes and can be used on other transport modes. ABCD zones are valid for 110 minutes and allow transfer to other modes. Tickets can also be purchased online. Day tickets can be purchased. The station is disability accessible. There is an assistance point at platform eleven. There are accessible toilets.

Very small Chapel in the centre of Helsinki. Nicely designed mostly wood . Closed on a Sunday which I found odd for a religious building. Inside silence must be observed .

Strangely enough, the chapel is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Nevertheless, it is so remarkable that it’s worth seeing even from the outside. 3 | The entrance fee to the chapel is €5. I can’t really say whether it’s worth paying. 4 | The chapel was only opened in 2012, designed by the Finnish architectural studio K2S Architects. It is 11.5 meters high, and the section with the altar has no windows at all.

Interesting building made from a variety of woods. Inside it is very quiet if you are not inside with rude tourists! You are asked to be silent inside the chapel. It is just the chapel room, we were there maybe 10-15 minutes max so it’s easy to slot into a busy schedule and take a breather.

Its serene atmosphere and central location make it a true gem in Helsinki.

Temppeliaukio Church, also known as the Rock Church, is a stunning example of modern architecture. Designed by architect brothers Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen, the church was completed in 1969 and is carved directly into solid granite. Its unique design features a massive copper dome and natural rock walls, creating a serene and awe-inspiring atmosphere. The interior is circular, with natural light streaming in through 180 window panes, highlighting the rough-hewn rock surfaces. The acoustics are exceptional, making it a popular venue for concerts and events. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful ambiance and admire the innovative design that blends nature and architecture seamlessly. While the €8 entrance fee is reasonable for such a unique experience, it's advisable to check the schedule for any events or services that might be taking place during your visit. Overall, Temppeliaukio Church is a must-visit attraction in Helsinki, offering a memorable experience for architecture enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.

We visited this "stone church" or "church in the rock" on purpose. The relatively expensive admission fee (€8) is surprising, as it discourages tourists who are only interested in taking photos, but also those who would like to appreciate the unique architectural design and modern sacred atmosphere, which is truly unique. We sat listening to pleasant ambient music for about 40 minutes and silently watched the preparations for the event, when hundreds of (unfortunately electronic) candles were lit. The visit was pleasant, and the space invites you to return just for the atmosphere. However, due to the not-so-symbolic admission fee (especially for poor visitors from Eastern Europe), I would think twice about it.

I loved the architecture of this church beautifully made - never seen anything quite like it !! Thus i find the ticket pricing should be at least 5 euros when theres no service as theres not a lot to see , its just one main room.

Unique church, luckily a pipe organ artist came in to practice when we were visiting. The music was phenomenal. The church is very acoustic, must be ideal for a concert experience. And there’s no cross in the church. We learned it’s the open heart of Christ accepting everyone with any religion.

The smoke saunas are truly authentic, and we met plenty of locals while we were there, which is always a good sign. It is very easy to reach by public transport and also makes the perfect stop after a hike on one of the many beautiful nearby trails. Practical tip: Bring your flip-flops and shower gel, though both are available for purchase on site. You can also rent towels if needed. A word about timing: The smoke sauna opens at 2 pm, and the temperature gradually drops throughout the day. Because it is heated in the traditional way, there is no thermostat, so the temperature cannot be controlled or predicted precisely. Early in the day, around 3 pm, it can reach up to 135°C (275°F), which most people would find far too intense. By the end of the day, it may drop to around 50°C (122°F), which could feel a bit too mild. From what we gathered, the sweet spot tends to be between 4 and 7 pm for most people, but it really depends on the day. If the smoke sauna happens to be too hot or not hot enough during your visit, the electric saunas in the main building are excellent. There are two for men, and we assume there are also two for women. Each one has its own character and charm. They are designed in an authentic Finnish way and offer a great alternative or complement to the smoke sauna. Important to know: Swimsuits are required in the smoke sauna and in all outdoor areas, including when cooling down in the lake. In the electric gender-separated saunas, however, you are not supposed to wear anything and are expected to use a seat pad. We went in naked, but we did notice that even some locals kept their swimsuits on, so it seems you are free to wear whatever makes you most comfortable. The lake itself is lovely. It has a few clearly marked very shallow areas, ideal for children or anyone who prefers not to go too deep. But most of the lake is deeper, especially by the wooden deck, reaching about three to four metres, which is perfect for a proper swim. At just €16, it is truly excellent value. While visits are technically limited to two hours, the atmosphere is relaxed. No one is watching the clock, and you will not be rushed out if you stay a little longer. There is also a cosy café serving tasty food and drinks, which makes a perfect way to wind down after your sauna session.

I stay around 6kms away from this place. It’s just two months since I landed in Finland and this place has already attracted me so much. I have been to this place twice so far. I take a walk on the side of the woods, take the 1.8 kms lake circle walk, feel the fresh chill breeze, journal for sometime. I love the tranquility and calmness of this place. The nature at its best. There is a proper swimming partition on one side of the lake and there are free saunas available. You can see lots of people taking bath even in end of autumn and beginning of winter. When you visit here plan to spend some good amount of time. There is also a grill available outside on the other side, so if you wanna have some grills and enjoy the nature, its a perfect place.

Beautiful natural park where you can swimming, jogging or go sauna. There is also restaurant where you can buy drinks and food. Recommend to visit in summer time.

I simply love this place - lake, the forest path and it's easy to come by bike here, cause of the straight asphalt road heading here. Grilling and swimming are always a big plus. PS If you do not tired you can explorer in the Sipoo National Park at the same shoot!

Please with this. The garden is beautiful and the place itself is a walk into a history book. The building itself is stunning and the rooms nicely kept. You can see a lot of the old ornaments and catch a glimpse of the of how people lived during this period. The garden is stunning and well kept. Very interesting home museum of the Finnish national composer Jean Sibelius.

After seen Sibelius Monument in Helsinki, it's just natural that one wants to see Ainola, the home of Jean and Aino Sibelius where they lived some half a century and which is now open for visitors as a home museum. The ticket price is 16 euro (summer25) which sounds a bit expensive if we think that the entrance costs to Kiasma, Ateneum and other big museums in Helsinki some 20 euroa. But maybe the ticket price doesn't matter so much if one is really interested in life of Finland's most famous composer.

A visit to Ainola had long been on my bucket list, so I arrived with high expectations. It's easy to see how the last 20 years or so of Sibalius' productive career, could have been influenced by such a stunning place. Today, the environment is a little spoiled by the proximity of a trunk road. But the house and gardens are unchanged since those days past, and you will appreciate the beauty and calm they install within you.

Home of Jean and Aino Sibelius, a very interesting history. A real home, did they say 99 ashtrays....he smoked cigars.

Visited the manore together with a Ukrainian guide who gave us a nice excursion into the life and world of three renowned architects and their families who lived there. Now the museum is open only in the part of Saarinen premises. The entrance fee into the museum is 10-15 euros. The territory around is wonderful. There is a open air cafe open from June there. Definitely worth visiting.

Great place to visit in the summer! Interesting unique interior, nice surroundings- garden and a small beach down the hill, interesting history of the place. Definitely worth coming here at least once! Free entrance with the museum card. Better come by bike because the car parking is usually full

Very nice mansion complex and museum for a day tour near Helsinki. Though I do not have much knowledge of architecture, I still managed to enjoy the well-designed studio home and the amazing view. ”Work is the key to creative growth of the mind.” Btw, it is covered by the Museum Card.

A marvelous place that brings visitors serenity. We strolled through the forest and alongside the lake whole afternoon, enjoying summer sunshine to the fullest. - The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday during summertime.

In a city full of neoclassic, minimalistic and functional design, this building still stands out as one of the best examples of Finnish architecture. The view over the lake is glorious at almost any time of the year. It is well maintained and organized.

I love, love, love the buildings. I could imagine living there. Beautiful place with many lovely designs from the times when people still crafted things by hand.

Nice place to spend time lot for kid to do. Get little overcrowded inside when they close outside due thunderstorm for a while. Get very load noice instead when all people was inside same time. Food at place very slow, ketchup was empty many say about it took over 10 min for them to refill it. Que to buy food and they close second place to order food instead to have both open. Buffé not to recommend and burgers was soso. Work to buy todays ticket when buy ticket instead to upgrade afterward.

For a family of 5 and all kids above 8yo awesome place as all attractions are suitable. Highly recommend renting the cottage as well.

Great overall experience. Perhaps they could do something to ease the queuing for food in hot weather. They could have some water fountains as well, that would help as I heard a mother telling her kid not to drink from the pool as she saw a floating piece of poop. I want to believe it was just her way to warn her kid from the dirty water. 🥲

Parking 5e per day. You can park and pay at the machine near the entrance. During 12pm, there was separate queue available for advanced booking. They allows outside food and there are dining spaces. Better to go with swimming suits or shorts as all others will be wearing those. Locker facility available in the dressing room, take 2euro coins to access them. Hair dryers are available in the dressing room. Many rides are indoor. First aid medicines are kept there.

Serena is the best water park in Finland and open all year, although the outdoor attractions are closed during the winter season. About half of the water slides are indoors, and the indoor area is warm all year. The park offers waterslides for the whole family, and the biggest ones serve also the slightly daring ones. A mediocre restaurant offers burgers, a buffet lunch and some smaller snacks and during summer time there is also an ice cream kiosk. Serena is a great day trip distance on a beautiful summer day.

Good waterpark, a lot of sides for all ages. But if you looking for saunas and relaxation, better go somewhere else. Also, you have to bring money or card if you are going to the restaurant, it is not so convenient.

This place is a hidden gem. I loved the experience of being pretty deep underground with deemed lights and the quiet sound of water dripping from the ceiling somewhere. There's some mining equipment and a lot of information about the mining process, which is quite interesting. Also, the Christmas decorations are great, one can even meet Joulupukki there.

A very informative and fun tour. The temp is cool down there. If you don't have a jacket, they have blankets. The hi-tech and low-tech is on display. Allow 2 hours for a thorough experience and take lots of pictures. Don't miss the sauna and the troll.

It was an interesting exhibition of Lohja's old Tytyri mine. There was a lot of old mining equipment and a few mining vehicles on display. - The temperature in the mine/quarry is +8°C year-round, so remember to bring a jacket! - The entrance fee was €18. - You are also required to wear a helmet when visiting the mine, which will be provided.

Absolutely amazing place and so much bigger and better executed that I expected! A lot of information about the history of the mine and the lift down was an experience in itself. Definitely recommend for an unusual activity, especially with children. We were just 2 adults on out own but had do much fun😍 Loved the troll...so cute and got a hug from him so that made my day. The entrance fee of 14,50 euros is very reasonable considering what a unique experience you get. I've certainly never visited anywhere like it. Very friendly and helpful, knowledgeable staff and a nice little coffee and gift shop too. 10/10❤️

It's a nice place to visit on a rainy day. The Kone elevator brings you down 350 meters below the surface. There is plenty to see down earth if you take it slowly and read the signs. The staff were able to speak to me in English, so I got a good explanation about the mine. I recommend to go here, it's a nice way to spend some time in the weekend!

Exciting and beautiful glimpse into Finnish mining history in Lohja. We had a blast! The staff in the mines were extremely knowledgeable about the mine history. If you are in southern Finland you need to make it here!

I really enjoyed the experience. There are really few places in Finland where you can spend 2 hours in a guided tour for such a low price and the experience is really interesting. From the super fast elevator to the tunnels and the art exhibition. I would recommend it for families with kids and for people interested in geology or science in general.

If you like bogs - this the place for you! The national park of Torronsuo covers over 30 square kilometers of bog and forest. They have nice well signed trails of various lengths around the park. I like the 8.5 km Suontaival trail which covers most important places. It is a wonderful walk with long long duckboards. I would highly recommend taking it. There are two parking areas with toilets along the trail. Remeber that during the summer there might be a lot of mosquitos so prepare for them accordingly. The park has english www-site with maps.

Nice trail that leads deep to a swamp. Views are special and so different from what I've seen. Quite and peaceful. The only bad thing was a part of the trail goes along a big road with 80 km/h speed limit. It spoils the impression. Moreover it is dangerous as there's no pedestrian line.
