I love this place. The William Kentridge exhibition was exceptional, but the collections hold some gems too (Matisse, Gauguin, Nam Yune Paik, Rodin, Mondriaan) and well curated. We came with our 6 year old who’s not very interrested in art and still spent 3 hours! The museum shop has a great book selection.

Architecturally the building is amazing. The permanente collection is overall pretty good, has quite a few contemporary masters and some interesting minors particularly from the Neue Sachlichkeit and I did not pay. But really need a curatorial overhaul, thematic rooms are maybe good for kids, not for a thinking adult. In particular if the themes are so abstract and the paintings do not speak with each other. Also you can’t put Braque and Picasso right beside a festival poster. I found very interesting & cool the scoring system for paintings’ provenance during WWII, to rank how clear or murky their history was. I wish the same would be done for the “exotic” pieces they have but I guess we would see a lot of red dots. The staff were incredibly friendly and the temporary exhibition was interesting and well curated.

I joined at Kluse (one stop down from the main train station, next to the cinema) and grabbed a ticket - although cheap (only 1.70) I found the machine doesn't take credit card, so come prepared with coins. The railway isn't big - only two carriages - but they are pretty frequent so if you miss one (or it's full), you don't have long to wait for the next. The carriages have been modernised: they're brightly-lit with clean seats that don't look worn in any way. Sitting at the back gives a good view down the river and along the roads during the trip, but as I tried it last evening in winter most of my trip was quite dark. I travelled south-west all the way to Vohwinkel (the terminal stop) where it's possible to see the other carriages parked, so there's quite a few cars. I then grabbed the one on the other side and travelled back the other way. Quite leisurely, a pretty smooth ride and fairly quick, given the age of the technology. Well worth the trip!

The museum is a hidden gem, specially for expats like me or tourists from abroad, as it has plenty of text and audio in English (unfortunately not that common in Germany). The reconstructions are incredible and are definitely the highlight! But the museum actually offers very good content, with detail in the scientific disciplines involved and including important civic takeaways. It is also quite interesting for families, since the permanent exhibition includes a lot of interactive elements and an audio guide with voice acting for immersion.

The 165th anniversary of Cologne Zoo is celebrated with evergreen content: dinosaurs. But also with a Panini sticker album. So, if you want to give your children a treat, buy the Dino kombi ticket with the sticker album. Do so online to jump the queue on site. I highly recommend to also book the Dino VR experience in advance - it is a ten minute visual aid (in coop with local VR hero TimeRide) and adds to the animatronics dinos scattered throughout the park. Otherwise, the 14 dinos add a nice distraction to the regular inhabitants of the lovely zoo. Some are animated, others really huge. One of the oldest zoos of Germany sports some nice attractions but also undergoes some considerable refurbishments. Some areas are closed off, others are currently under construction (giraffe house). But some historic buildings (old elephant house) surely add to the flavor. We paid €98 for two adults and 2 kids. So plan to bring your healthy snacks and drinks with you, otherwise better top up your Amex ;)

Although zoos are not my favorite place to travel, this zoo surprised me. Animal rights were relatively respected and different and rare animals were collected in this zoo. Only the see through pool of the hippopotamus had an eco problem and was very cloudy,which was why they weren't fed for the public. The ant eater looked bored and moved repetitive. I liked the space of the cheetah which looked very natural. Entrance is expansive,but if you buy tickets online you get a daily free ticket for public transport

The Cologne Zoo is very small. The elephant house and fake dinosaurs take up most of the space. The zoo is a dreary, bleak, and absolutely ugly place, captivating depressed animals. It's truly awful, giving an abandoned desolated and apocalyptic area. Anyone who doesn't feel pity for them probably won't feel anything else either. Every enclosure is super tiny. A lot of animals were also not there. The tropical house was closed, as well as every snack bars except one.. on a weekend.

The Cologne Zoo was Fascinating and I had a remarkable time looking at and watching all the different types of animals. One exception is that they could zone the animal regions so you know what animals are where based on their location they are found. My father in law, Gary enjoyed watching the penguins and the seals jump and dive into the water, Gary said “looks fun to be one”. We both had an amazing time in the Dino VR which tells you how the dinosaurs went extinct and how they lived before. It’s fascinating and a must see, the food selection could be better but overall a great zoo experience. One of the better ones i’ve seen!!🙌

The ticket is just 5 euros and you go up 28 floors pretty fast. It’s just 10-15 mins walk, across the bridge. And totally worth it. Could be windy there so carry a jacket.

There was no queue when we arrived, 5euros for a ticket, get on the lift to the 28th floor and your free to roam around the top. The Cologne Cathedral is absolutely amazing and breathtaking! Its enormous size and stunning Gothic architecture make it one of the most impressive landmarks I’ve ever visited. Even though it’s often crowded, everything feels well organized, and the atmosphere remains peaceful and respectful. It’s also right next to the Hauptbahnhof (main train station), so it’s very easy to reach — perfect for a quick stop or a longer visit. The gift shop is lovely, with nice souvenirs and books about the cathedral’s history. I especially recommend visiting on rainy days — the interior feels even more magical and calming, with the sound of rain outside and the light coming through the stained glass windows. Truly a must-see spot in Cologne!

During our Rhine River Cruise, we came here to see this great piece of Gothic architecture. We came with our guide. Since they are not allowed inside, we saw it ourselves. It took more than 600 years to complete this magnificent Church. It was declared World Heritage Site in 1996. It is most visited landmark in Germany. More than 6 million tourist visit every year. It is the third tallest Church in the world. This medieval Church is continuously renovated. It is very beautiful from inside. The stained window glasses and other piece of art and paintings are magnificent. It's open from 10 to 5 from Monday to Saturday and 1 to 4 on Sundays. Minimum one hour is required to see it properly. The trolley bags and other big bags are not allowed inside.

We came for the Christmas markets but were wowed by this cathedral. Absolutely stunning. It is free, which is amazing!!! We walked right in. We did pay €20 for the whole family to go up the south tower. We did not buy these ahead. It was a little tight up the stairs. 535 of them. We saw the bells and they rang when we were by them, which was cool.

Huge space, lovely landscape, the whole family (adults, kids and dog) loved it! There is a mini-golf at the entrance, also a restaurant a bit further, playgrounds, and a dedicated big place for dogs to run off the leash.

Was a really great park! I studied abroad in Bonn for a month for the Summer of 2024 and I ran through this park several times a week, an absolutely beautiful place with several great events, bike paths, running/walking paths, and natural areas to explore. While i never took advantage of it myself it also has amazing sports related facilities. I was also able to visit the monthly flea market while I was there which was an absolute blast!

People can do grilling, picnic dates play with friends like volleyball, badminton, football, inline/roller skating, riding a bike, going for a walk playing fetch with your dog, skateboard, and many more. The exhibition atm is smaller than expected. The upper floors were under construction & the lowest floor was about Roman period. After Hilter exhibition is on the ground floor. Educates you about Germany after WWII and quite informative on historical events that remain relevant to today's unfortunate time. Their cafe is pricey but the museum's admission is free, staff are friendly, and their lounge is perfect for students or remote work - quiet and modern. I would love to come back for the other parts of the museum.

For understanding modern German history in Bonn, I think this is a great place; it presents the period from post-war years up to reunification in a clear, chronological way, plus it’s free to visit and very easy to reach. What a gorgeous castle. We stopped in on our way to Cologne. The little train tram was fun. The many stained glass windows were so cool. The little cafe was good, we got tea and coffee and snacks. Views were amazing.

It‘s definitely worth a visit, the place is nice and spacious. We chose to go up with the tram mainly because of the children but i would recommend to take the trail hiking up instead. Very nice winery, great wine

We had a nice visit of the cellar. After that we enjoyed tasting few wines and bought more than dozen bottles of riesling and pinot noir. Arrived at home, we opened two of the six riesling "S" we got. Both of them presented a sour sparkling presence (it should be a still wine!!!) which was not present in the wine we tasted at the winery, which was totally smooth and nicely mineral. Most likely the wine they sold us had an unintended fermentation in the bottles resulting in CO2 generation. After calling the winery to complain, they refused to refund for the faulty bottles.

It's an old, nice winery, good for keeping wine and for buying, but not for staying(imagine how is the host stays there for the whole day, it's so cold). The level of flooded water can be seen on the wall even after the year passed. But they didn't stop and continue produce nice wine for us.

Good paintball arena with 3 areas to choose from. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They got well-maintained equipment and a good play time management system. Ammunition refill can get expensive for a few rounds, but I guess that's what you need to pay for this sport. Otherwise recommended!

Interesting open-air museum to learn about the different architectural styles in the region. Many of the old buildings were moved from other villages to this location or recreated. They are well-preserved and contain original furniture and objects with specific themes. You can also find some farm animals, but children cannot touch them (kein Streichelzoo).The signage to get there is quite poor. You also need to walk up a hill from the parking lot to the entrance, which is difficult if you have a cart or stroller. Forget about going in if someone is in a wheelchair. Most of the paths are covered with cobblestones (Kopfsteinpflaster), making it quite difficult and uncomfortable to walk. The park area is absurdly large, and you cannot visit all the points in just one day if you are with small children or people in a wheelchair.The restaurant offers good food options, and the staff is friendly.

I have been driving around Europe for 14 weeks so far, 8 different countries, many different attractions and this place is up there with the best. So well set up, it's like going back in time. Much bigger than I expected with beautiful paths thru the forest to each section. I LOVED it so much, can't recommend high enough, not to be missed

It is an amazing place! A lot of attractions is there. Try to go during good weather because you have to walk a lot outdoors. Highly recommended.

Very interesting place for people, which like walk and imagine. Here you will find old houses with old furniture inside, old mill and interesting exhibition with wax figures. Good restaurant, not high prise and 2-3 hours for walk in wood.

This is a nicely expanding open air museum. Since last year and our last visit there are a few new item to see, combined with the extras today with the horses and tractors meeting it made for an interesting day out. The children always have a lot of fun to see what has changed and to see the animals as well. As said the horses were an extra highlight. As this was all included in the lvr family card it makes it a real bargain as well. Well worth a visit and always worth getting some fresh bread which they make on site.

Nicely built and well arranged according to geography and/or time period, with lovely walkways in-between, with many roads and directions for a long or short or thorough visit. Authentic interior. However, while the description on the outside is in English, basically all of the exhibits or stories inside the houses are explained in German only. Very interesting is the exhibit "Wir Rheinländer", telling the story of this particular area from early 1800 until late 1940s, where you walk along a city street and peer into windows, looking at wax dolls in different settings, adding a couple of years for each window, and seeing how culture and people change as time goes by. For a full visit of the entire museum you should plan at least 4-5 hours.

If you like walking and historical architecture and pretty countryside then you are at the right place. Just a marvel of a place. Well worth it. Also local food, ie breads,cakes and meats available at the eateries there.

Absolutely awesome experience driving Numbergring yesterday. Love Fabrice (my instructor) yelling at me the whole time “gas, gas, gas, you have the whole track”. “Don’t brake, don’t brake” Unbelievable & surreal experience. Will come again if my wife let’s me! Thank Jay (Australia)

Absolutely amazing! Did the First Timer package, and the guides were incredibly friendly. Cars were clean and well maintained, and the preparation they provided before the track laps was great. The instructor that came with me knew the track incredibly well and was able to guide me around quickly and safely. Highly recommend!

Very professional outfit. The setup on the car was great (BMW M240i RSR) I got to run some laps on their Fanatec simulator first to warm up, which really helped a 1st timer like me. Everyone there made the experience enjoyable, and it couldn't possibly be in a more convenient location. Absolutely a 5 star experience.

Highly, highly recommend RSR Nürburgring - long review ahead because we only have amazing things to say! My husband had the best time of his life, and it was an incredible first experience at the Nürburgring, all thanks to RSR. This trip was planned specifically to fulfil his dream of driving at the green hell, and after tons of research, we chose RSR for their First Timer Package - and it truly couldn’t have been more perfect. We arrived at 9.30am to kick off the day with a road tour. This was such a great start as it gave us more insight into the history of the Nürburgring, including a visit to the Südschleife - the forgotten section of the old Nürburgring, and some scenic view spots around the track. It happened to be Industry Pool Day, so we also got to see various German automotive brands testing their vehicles, which was an unexpected bonus! The road tour was especially cool because we were allowed to use the same car we’d be taking on the track - in our case, the M2 G87, which was clean, well-maintained, and an absolute joy to drive. The tour included some spirited driving on B-roads (all within safe limits), which gave my husband a feel for the car before the track session. After the tour, we were given museum tickets and had a break for lunch - both nice additions to the experience. Before the actual track time, we returned the car so RSR could do a check - it was reassuring to see that they take safety seriously. Next came the safety briefing, which was comprehensive and very well conducted. Then it was finally time to hit the track! My husband was assigned an instructor for the first lap, and he was fantastic - clearly experienced and very knowledgeable. He gave great guidance and tips, which helped my husband feel confident. We ended up adding another lap with the instructor and then my husband finished with two solo laps, putting what he learned into action. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch the instructor’s name, but he made a huge positive impact on the experience. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the Nürburgring. RSR is professional, passionate, and truly knows how to create a top-tier driving experience. We'll definitely be back - and if you're considering doing this, don't hesitate. Just book it.

Top experience for the best value. Can only recommend the guys and the cars. The process was very smooth and friendly, they explain to you everything, they are flexible and very kind. Also having an instructor with you is vital for the first lap at least, and they have cool instructors, so book one. The i20N is perfect for the very first 10-20 laps, it‘s powerful enough believe me. And don‘t crash it, I‘ll need it back soon, cause I‘ll come back for sure :). Thanks a lot guys!! Marian

I attended the RSR event at the Nurburgring and Spa-Francorchamps from August 1-5. To be sure, the tracks were as amazing as I had hoped them to be and driving them was the fulfillment of a dream. The joyous insanity of the Nurburgring is equaled by the elegance and precision of Spa. But the overall experience provided by RSR was so much more than providing access to the tracks. Every detail of my weeklong trip was handled with such precision and personal attention that I went home wondering what part was the best: Was it the driving? Was it the first class accommodations (trackside at Nurburgring and a Michelin-quality resort in Belgium)? Was it the exquisite food (including gourmet dining at Hotel Le Val d' Amblev for our nights at Spa)? Was it the people handling all the above? Ultimately, it was clear that the people involved in the event made it as good as it was. Ron has assembled the most amazing team, and they ALL make it their mission to ensure that everything is simply perfect. Jonathan's management of the event and our group was superlative. He so clearly finds joy in his work, and that job is executing the vision of a perfect driving holiday in Europe. (Jonathan ... mission accomplished!) Ray was a most welcome addition to everything he attended, with his South African accent and big smile. The cars were in excellent condition, and they were maintained expertly and quickly throughout all phases of the events. If they needed fuel, air in a tire, a tire change (as track conditions changed), oil, a windshield cleaning or anything else (including the fastest change of brake pads I have ever seen), the mechanics almost magically put things right so that I could return to the fun in the least amount of time. The other support staff -- from event managers, photographers, etc. -- were always ahead of us and prepared everything for our arrival. Those events included a VIP lounge dinner at the Nurburgring GP track to watch the old timers racing one night, as well as literally creating a lounge in a garage for our days at Spa. Finally, Ron appeared to take great joy in mingling with his many guests, and he even afforded many of them the pleasure of taking them out for proper fast laps at Spa. (Ron, my wife still thinks you are a rock star for driving her more ably and faster than I ever could. Thank you.)

To start this review, I would like to share my appreciation for the gentleman and lady in the front office. They were lovely, professional and really welcoming to make sure we got the experience we came for. I couldnt share a higher appreciation for their service. Secondly, amongst all the rental providers we enquired with, RSR was by far the most established and professional service, happy to talk us through any concerns and make sure we had the most suitable car for our needs. They were clear about the risks involved, and made sure the appropriate level of caution was exercised resulting in a safe but memorable experience. It is clear that RSR has the largest car selection around and the level of safety checks and regular servicing to their cars cant be faulted. I wouldnt not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and would only consider going back with RSR.

Don’t think about it, just do it! After some research, rented the Spyder RS from these guys. Had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend. My coach was Taylor and he did a great job. I was happy to have the coach as it gave me confidence to drive faster than I would have otherwise. Everyone I asked said the Supra is the way to go as their cars are highly modified. I went for the visceral experience of the open air where you smell the track and hear the noises of the raging flat 6… I don’t regret my decision and would do the same again. Had to wait in the queue to enter the track as well as to exit. Shortly after we finished there was an accident which shut the track down for a bit. Again, Taylor did an exceptional job and I was happy he was in the car with me. They provide everything included in the rental price. Ticket for entry, the fuel, helmet, and an SD card with track and in car video.

From the initial booking experience all the way through to getting your video of the drive at the end, it's an incredible experience. Marc was very easy to work with on picking out the right car. He is the owner and cares about the customer experience. He doesn't try to push you into anything you don't want or need. I ended up picking a Porsche 911 GT3 RS and that car is unbelievable. Nash was my instructor and he was really great. He was an American to so it was nice to have someone who knows racing in the States as well as Europe. He helps you understand how to navigate the track easily and I never felt worried even though this was my first time tracking a car. Their place is really close to the ring entrance so it only takes a few minutes and you get to get familiar with the car before jumping on the track.

Over the last 20 Years I have been the the 'ring at least 10 times, each time I have come with my own car and smashed out a few Tourists Laps. My Daughters tick list was to join me at the ring and have a "Race Car Experience" but with Dad as pilot. I did a bunch of looking around and found Rent4Ring, they had a great website and fantastic selection of cars. So I booked, I promptly received a booking confirmation and all was set. As a car guy, I am not going to lie I was expecting battered, poorly looked after cars, basically not what was advertised. How wrong was my expectations, these guys have it nailed. They made us feel extremely welcome, provided excellent insight into laps and standards. There cars were really well set up and presented. I elected to go for the MINI for two reasons, number 1 so I didn't go full knob and bend someone else's car and 2 they had a pink one... Perfect for Girl Dad! The car was excellent, shod with full cage, buckets harnesses. Extremely well set up on its coil overs and shod with cup2's, although by the time we had finished there wasn't much left today then (Sorry guys lol). No hidden charges, totally transparent. I will never take my own car again when I need to scratch that itch, I will always use these guys!

I hired one of the Minis in March 2024, I only planned on driving slowly around the track which I have always wanted to do, however I decided to pay for a driving coach as well and I am very happy I did as he told me exactly what to do and allowed me to be much more confident in driving faster than I was planning to. Highly recommend Rent 4 Ring! I think after the lap the coach guy said I drove very safely which I remember as a fun side note.

We rented Minis, they are very well prepared with a cafe, track tyres and suspension. The staff are excellent. I used to take my own car but this makes far more sense now insurance excludes the Nordschleife. Highly recommend the increased insurance for peace of mind.

Great communication and service. Rented a Mini and it was very well equipped. Both my wife and I drove some laps and now she has agreed to drive some more events at other tracks. Thank you for the great coaching :)
