Sights & Landmarks
Malbork is a charming town with a beautifully renovated railway station constructed of red bricks. The interior features coats of arms representing local areas, adding to its historical charm. The station is conveniently located about 10-15 minutes' walk from the impressive Malbork Castle. Visitors can make use of storage lockers at the station or opt for a free locker near the castle ticket office when visiting this stunning attraction.
Beautiful and charming train station! Fantastic design. Ticket sales people do not speak English, so prepare to have your Google Translate ready.
Buster I — Google review
Malbork Railway Station is a beautifully restored neo-Gothic building that serves as the main rail hub in the town of Malbork, Poland. Originally opened in 1890, the station underwent significant renovations between 2010 and 2011, preserving historical elements such as bullet marks from World War II and intricate architectural details like coats of arms and wooden ceilings . The station is conveniently located in the city center, approximately a 10–20 minute walk from the renowned Malbork Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site . It features four covered platforms accessible via an underground passage and offers connections to major Polish cities, including Gdańsk, Warsaw, and Kraków, through Intercity (IC), TLK, and regional Polregio services . Facilities at the station include a ticket office, a waiting room, restrooms located in a separate building, a limited number of luggage lockers, vending machines, a small bar, and a fast-food outlet. An ATM is available in front of the station . While the station provides essential amenities, travelers should be aware that the number of luggage lockers is limited. For those planning to visit Malbork Castle, additional luggage storage options are available near the castle’s ticket office . It’s also advisable to check train schedules in advance, as regional trains can be crowded during peak times . Overall, Malbork Railway Station combines historical charm with functional services, making it a pleasant starting point for exploring the town and its famous castle.
R — Google review
A few coin lockers for big luggage in the train station. There also some relatively smaller ones in the Malbork castle. (Train station ones are bigger but fewer)
HY C — Google review
A very beautiful station, a bit dirty. They got a storage locker that you can put your stuff in. 2 big ones and 3 small ones with a cost. If you plan to visit the Malbork Castle, there is a free locker under the ticket office which is free but you will need a 2 zloty coin to use it but you will get it back when you return the key.
Tanan S — Google review
If you are coming to Malbork from say Gdansk by train you will arrive here. The station is constructed of red brick and is in great condition. The interior is many coats of arms near the ceiling of local areas. The station is about 10-15 minutes walk from the Castle and you take the route through the town.

Priyadarshani S — Google review
Nice building of the railway station in Malbork. Everyting is clean and well-groomed. It took us about 45 minutes to get from the main train station of Gdansk to Malbork. And the center of the town is in 10 minutes by foot. The building made of red bricks is beautifully renovated.
Marta K — Google review
Small stop if you’re coming from Gdańsk to visit Malbork Castle. Taxis are outside on the left, but ask for the rate to the Castle (15 PLN in Jan 18). Not easy getting a taxi back from the Castle but it’s a short 15 min walk.

Museum
Malbork Castle, also known as the Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork, is a 14th-century fortress that was originally built as a stronghold by the Teutonic Knights. Situated on the banks of the River Nogat, it served as their headquarters for almost 150 years. The castle now houses a museum with medieval artifacts, paintings, and an impressive amber collection.
Absolutely worth a visit! Tickets include an interactive online audio guide that not only tells you where to go but also shows key highlights on the screen. The range of available languages is impressive. The castle exhibition is massive, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The whole tour takes about an hour. I recommend it more!"
Dovile J — Google review
It’s a fascinating place to explore, full of winding halls, towers, and hidden corners that really give you a feel of its medieval past. Walking through it is both fun and atmospheric, and you can easily spend hours discovering new details. The audio guide is excellent—clear, engaging, and full of stories that make the history come alive in a really enjoyable way.
Анна А — Google review
Okay wow! This is a world heritage site and a must to visit when in Poland. So much history here and the engineering has stood the test of time. There's translation devices for most languages when you enjoy the walking tour. As an Orthodox Christian I can still enjoy the beauty and pure massiveness of this romantic place from another time.
Asia A — Google review
I've never done a self guided or audio tour before, but this was definitely an awesome experience if you're into exploring historical sites. The audio guide was fairly detailed and the English speaking version was great. Each section had me engaged and excited for the next part of the tour. The whole experience was one I won't forget and I really wish I could've brought my family to experience it with me. I'd love to post more pictures, but I don't want to take away from the experience.
Ed L — Google review
An amazing castle to tour. The audio guide is wonderful and guides you to all the rooms and gives interesting information. The castle is really fascinating and beautiful! The restaurant is also worth a visit with super delicious traditional food.
Ms S — Google review
Really great tour experience. Self guided with English headset MP3 type of device. Easy to stay walking distance at nice hotels. Ordered the ticket type we wanted online the night before and simply go to the ticket office and receive an audio device.
Kelly G — Google review
The castle is very interesting amd definitely worth visiting! The building is split into multiple parts so the complex over all is HUGE and you can easily spend several hours just walking around. When I went the audio guide was included which was fairly nice, but a bit dry in terms of the content. It is difficult to find your way around the castle as most doors are not marked so the audio guide which literally tells you where to go, what door to open etc, was very useful for navigation. As a historic site it is really worth taking a day trip to visit the castle and the castle grounds.
Renate S — Google review
Impressive architecture. With the audio guide it's a great history lesson. While it's pretty much an unfurnished castle there are some great displays such as the Amber Room, the armory with weapons ranging centuries from both European and Eastern countries. In addition, the cellar restaurant was surprisingly excellent and fairly priced. Recommend!

When visiting Toruń, make sure to stop by the Nicolaus Copernicus Monument, a bronze statue erected in 1853 to honor the renowned Renaissance astronomer. Standing at 2.6 meters tall, it is the second oldest monument in Poland and has become a symbol of the city. The statue is a must-see for its historical significance and as a beautiful landmark in Toruń's Old City Market Square.
A popular landmark to meet with people at the heart of Torun's old town. A homage to the great scientist Nicolaus Copernicus, born in Torun.
Saikat M — Google review
I took 27 different photos of this one statue. He was a very important guy. I recommend
Tadeusz G — Google review
Nicolaus Copernicus (19 February 1473 – 24 May 1543) was a Renaissance polymath, active as a mathematician, astronomer, and Catholic canon, who formulated a model of the universe that placed the Sun rather than Earth at its center. In all likelihood, Copernicus developed his model independently of Aristarchus of Samos, an ancient Greek astronomer who had formulated such a model some eighteen centuries earlier. It’s a MUST SEE in Torun. Kopernik is a PRODUD for polish history. Definitely recommend come and see and read about that astonished person.
Adrian W — Google review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You can't visit Toruń without appreciating the magnificent Nicolaus Copernicus Monument. I find this statue amazing. It dominates the beautiful Old Town Square in the best possible way, serving as a powerful symbol of the city's most famous son. I think it’s more than just a statue, it's a daily reminder of the revolutionary thinking that changed our understanding of the universe. Absolutely essential to experience.
I ( — Google review
The monument of Nicolaus Copernicus standing in the Old Town Square is one of the most important symbols of Toruń. The monument was placed in its current location in 1853, making it the second-oldest preserved statue of Nicolaus Copernicus in Poland. The figure of the eminent astronomer was cast in bronze and stands over 2.5 meters tall. The sculpture was created by Berlin artist Friedrich Abraham Tieck. The Latin inscription on the pedestal indicates that the commemorated person is Nicolaus Copernicus, a Toruń native, who set the Earth in motion while halting the Sun and the sky. It is challenging to capture a photo of Copernicus alone or against the monument backdrop without other accompanying individuals, as the statue is typically surrounded by tourists.
MIRELA G — Google review
Old Town Toruń is a true architectural marvel and a treasure trove of history. The beautifully preserved medieval buildings, cobblestone streets, and charming squares transport you back in time. Exploring the narrow alleyways reveals a delightful mix of Gothic and Renaissance architecture, including the iconic Town Hall and stunning churches. The vibrant atmosphere, lined with cozy cafes, restaurants, and shops, adds to the charm. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply seeking a captivating stroll, Old Town Toruń is a captivating destination that will leave you spellbound.
Asad U — Google review
Beautiful place for photos day or night. 😎 Nearby: for a few złotych, buy tickets and climb to the roof of the clock tower above Copernicus' statue. It's worth it! Such a view! You climb right past the bells that chime the hour. (Stairs aren't even, so be careful. It's an adventure!)
Kami M — Google review
A place you must see in the oldtown center of Torun, it’s a amazing city that I could say one of the most beautiful city in Poland, even better than krakow and Wroclaw in someways. Hardly destroyed in WW2, therefore a lot of historical buildings survived. Torun also happened to be the hometown of Nicolaus Copernicus.

Muzeum Piernika, located in a historic 1863 granary, offers an immersive experience into the tradition of gingerbread-making in Torun. Visitors can engage in hands-on baking activities and explore the city's rich history of gingerbread production. The cobblestone streets are filled with the enticing aroma of ginger and cinnamon, leading to numerous Piernik shops where visitors can sample some of the best gingerbread cookies.
This is a place you can’t miss when visiting Toruń. From the moment you enter, you can feel the great atmosphere—people are friendly and fun. It’s a fantastic spot for everyone, whether children or adults. You can learn how gingerbread was made in the past and even bake your own at the end of the experience. I recommend booking tickets in advance, as availability is limited and they sell out quickly.
Mateusz R — Google review
We visited as a family and had a wonderful experience. We joined the session with simultaneous English translation, which was very well done. The visit begins with a storytelling session that takes you through the history of gingerbread in the region, followed by a hands-on activity where you make your own gingerbread with traditional tools and guidance — a great mix of fun and learning. What stood out to us was not just the content of the museum, but also the warmth and professionalism of the staff — from the hosts to the interpreters, everyone was incredibly welcoming and engaged. There are also additional small activities that make the whole visit even more enjoyable, especially for kids. It’s truly an experience that appeals to both children and adults. Torun itself is a beautiful and impressive city, and this museum is one of those special places that reflect its rich history in an interactive and memorable way. Highly recommended, especially for families looking to enjoy something meaningful and fun together.
Taylan A — Google review
This was pointed out to us by friends as a fun thing to do, so we bought tickets and waded in. It's a museum plus interactive venue where you actually get to make some gingerbread. You are actually informed, however, not to eat the gingerbread you make as the process is rushed and the recipe is not quite right. Fun nonetheless. It's fun and informative, so give it a go.
Steve R — Google review
I was really excited to attend the Ginger Bread Making Tour and even planned my entire day around it. English tour... I was given earpieces to listen but extremely poor quality sound systems. It was such a poor experience(they only working hard on the sales of thier gingerbread) which was deeply disappointing given how much I was looking forward it. Anyway just interesting for kids.
Frida1907 — Google review
Amazing experience! Super fun for the kids and adults! Staff is amazing and do a great job!
CAMO P — Google review
Very Good and Interactive muzeum from learning what gingerbreads are made from to making them yourself and them there is a chance to decorate your own gingerbread for an extra 8PLN that you can eat. There is 2 parts the medieval time and the early 20th century. When you are exploring Toruń it is certainly worth a visit. The show in English is at 2pm but in Polish it is every full hour.
Mike N — Google review
We joined the 2pm English-synchronized tour and it was an overall great experience. I don't get those reviews that complain about the synchronisation. In our case, the guy that did the live translation added so much value. I guess humour is a matter of taste - but this was exactly my taste; give that man a raise! 😃 It was a very entertaining/interactive experience and the Polish language parts made the experience even more authentic to me.
Elias B — Google review
Wow, what a great experience for kids and adults. The gingerbread class workshop is such a memorable experience. Excellent performance by the friendly staff. Would recommend it to anyone having a spare hour in old town Torun. Great location. Exit through a gift shop. Well worth the ticket price.

Planetarium. W. Dziewulskiego is a remarkable destination in Torun, offering captivating shows on constellations, planets, and galaxies alongside interactive exhibits. The city itself boasts a rich history and stunning medieval architecture, including Gothic cathedrals, the Old Town Hall, and the ruins of the first Teutonic castle in Poland. Visitors can also explore the Gingerbread Museum and encounter mysticism at the planetarium.
One of the biggest tourist attractions in Toruń is Planetarium. It is the most technically advanced planetarium in Poland and due to its characteristic architectural design - the semicircular dome and rotunda shape, the building is easily recognisable among other structures of Old Town. I remember I was there with school as a kid and I was amazed of the performance. Now I came back after years and still was impressed of atmosphere. Book in advance on their website. I have no idea if they have also English performances.
Paweł — Google review
A great place to explore the wonders of the universe, with engaging shows and fascinating astronomical exhibits. A must-visit for science and space enthusiasts!
Mateusz R — Google review
Thank you for bringing back great memories from my childhood when we used to had planetarium in Riga. 😊🙏 I enjoyed a Macrocosmos show. My colleague felt a little sick, but overall experience is great and worth a try. Those who suffers from seasickness not recommended.
Gita M — Google review
It's possible to pay in cash and using a credit card. During weekends all tickets are discounted to the price of a student ticket. The shows are quite interesting, but made with 3D graphics that looks really outdated, during some parts of the show one may feel a little sick, but overall experience is great and worth a try.
Rafał P — Google review
Tried phoning all morning and afternoon to book tickets but no answer, they answered a few times but hung up straight away. That didn’t seem to be helping so I started emailing someone at the same time who was extremely unhelpful and sarcastic over the messages. Tried registering/signing up on the website to see if I could book tickets that way but it just tells you to phone. Again no answer
Robbie M — Google review
Great attraction, most shows also in English (ask at the ticket office), friendly staff.
Mr Z — Google review
Great place for families with children. Movies are designed for children without too many scientific facts so it can be enjoyable for them. There is no cloakroom there what is a pity but from the projection people are coming out directly to the street. Make sure you have your mask on as many people ignore the risk and do not wear it inside coughing in the tight interiors. If you reserve your ticket online you have to buy it earlier than 15 minutes before the projection or you will loose it.

Beautiful place to visit , the prices are pretty expensive thought. Big free parking People with babies I would suggest a harness and not a pushchair as it’s kind of rocky and not straight pavement. There are few restaurants and a kids park. Zip line purchase separately at 25zl Entrance 47zl per person under 6 go free.

Interesting place to learn more about the WWII history of the region. Unfortunately a bit expensive for what you get. And most of the information is only in Polish.
Ghgames — Google review
We mistakenly thought this was a large outdoor museum but it's relatively small and you can't go in all the houses. It's an interesting way to spend 45 mins to an hour and is not expensive. There's also plenty of parking. There seemed to be a couple of restaurants but they weren't open in early April. We drove from Gdansk thinking we would be there hours, but never mind, the scenery around the park was nice.
Tracy S — Google review
Three parts, the first educational, the second fairy-tale and the third climbing. The fairy tale part needs fixing. Climbing is best for children and educational for older children. I gave one less star because each part is paid separately.
Tomas O — Google review
We visited this place for the second time. It is still very interesting but we were very disappointed that most of the buildings were closed! In MAY! It was totally unacceptable to pay full price and get only 30% of buildings open.
David — Google review
Not disabled friendly at all, all the paths are uneven bumpy and lots of hills and stairs. Not the place to come if you struggle with your mobility or using a mobility scooter.
Wesley M — Google review
A very interesting "gravity defying" piece of architecture and construction work. A must visit place in the outskirts of Gdansk through a very scenic road . Everything inside & outside the house is upside down. Some people find get a bit dizzy after some time inside the house as human brain could take a bit of time to get adjusted to this unusual place. I had too much fun. There are basically 2 floors inside the house and one can go to both levels. Some interesting paintings are in the "second " floor. Good place for photography too.

I loved this park. It is vast and has got many different areas such as: beauty flower arrangements, green grass area, little forest, pond with a bridge, herb garden, so you won't get bored. There are cafes inside and restaurants as well as public toilets. You will find ice cream parlour, outdoor gym and kids playground. I was very happy to spend a day there.

Basilica of Our Lady of Licheń

Vast, modern, Catholic pilgrimage site with a golden cupola & a 130m tall free-standing tower.
I visited this place on a Sunday and had a blast. It was very well kept and peaceful. There were a lot of people so I'd advise to visit at rather early hours.

Beautiful place of worship. You’d need 2 full days to come visit this place and check everything out. Everything to visit is free, gift shops are there, food / drinks are there. Ice cream shops too. There is a policy to follow regarding how you dress.
Patrycja K — Google review
This is called the Polish Vatican and is the largest church in Poland, and one of the largest in the world! I was there during a week day and it was very quiet. There is parking all around and it's free. If you bring some empty water bottles you can fill them up with holy water there. I highly recommend a visit to this amazing basilica.
Roderick V — Google review
This place is really a gem; usually when I think of basilica's, they are hundreds of years old, and this one is only 20. It is a testament to Polish Catholicism.
Rachel F — Google review
Overhelmingly impressive building (6th largest church building in the world), especially interior. Worth visiting and experiencing, also for non-catholics. Was not aware before that such impressive art, architecture, mosaics, other details are here, always passing by on autobahn tryin faster to get to ski in Alps. Nice park&garden, inspiring John Paul's II statue outside. 5 organs, one of which - the4th biggest in Europe, and the church-bells - this is something...the biggest one weighing over 11 tons. Spectacular!

You could say it’s a Polish take on Taj Mahal. Gold, history, religion, and nationalism seem to all come together seamlessly, or… do they? In any case, it’s definitely worth visiting the place for its impressive architecture and a bit surreal atmosphere.

Przechodzący przez rzekę

"Przechodzący przez rzekę" is a striking sculpture in Bydgoszcz, Poland, depicting a young man crossing the river on a tightrope. Created by artist Jerzy Marian Kedziora, it has become an iconic symbol of the city. The sculpture commemorates Poland's accession to the EU and is one of the most popular and photographed attractions in Bydgoszcz.
This sculpture is a real surprise, which, at least for me, has become a kind of symbol of the city of Bydgoszcz. Both the symbolism - balancing on a rope in the middle of the river - and the integration into the environment of the old city are fascinating.

“Przechodzący przez rzekę” in Bydgoszcz is a unique sculpture of a man balancing on a tightrope above the Brda River. Symbolizing the city’s transition to the future, it’s an impressive and iconic piece that beautifully blends art with the urban landscape.

“Crossing the River” sculpture in Bydgoszcz is definitely an interesting piece of art. It’s designed in such a way that it truly looks like the figure is balancing on a wire, trying to maintain their balance. A very creative and eye-catching installation — definitely a great photo spot!”

It's a sculpture to commemorate joining Poland to EU. It is one of the most popular and photographed sculptures in Bydgoszcz, but in my opinion, there are a lot of other, better ones. In one hand he is holding a pole. In the other hand he is holding an arrow and on his neck there are Roman sandals, both of which refer to the oldest city's sculpture and the main symbol of Bydgoszcz - Łuczniczka (The Archer).

It is probably the most visited and photographed place in Bydgoszcz. The ‘tightrope walker’, also known as the ‘man crossing the river’ (Przechodzący przez rzekę) is a sculpture of a naked man holding a pole and two arrows while balancing on a wire. It stretches across the Brda River by the city centre and was created by Jerzy Kędziora. It was unveiled on May 1, 2004, the famous day when Poland joined the European Union and is designed so that its centre of gravity is below the wire, which gives it its balance. Definetely it is one of the city’s iconic points of interest. It is probably the most visited and photographed place in Bydgoszcz. This is a new artwork, that seems to ignore the laws of physics. That acrobat is guarding day & night, summer & winter, under the rain and snow and also under the strong wind, the central bridge over Brda in Bidgoszcz.

The Muzeum Mydła i Historii Brudu is an exhibition center that showcases the history of soap and dirt. The museum offers soap making workshops, guided tours, and a shop where visitors can buy various products, including candles and soap. The exhibits cover the history of soaps, perfumes, and prejudices related to personal hygiene from different countries worldwide. The guides provide detailed information about the exhibits in different languages.
Went here today and had a great time. The staff spoke good English and were very nice. Making the soaps was fun and I have a nice memory of the place. The museum tour was very interesting and fun. Would recommend it to anyone and thank you to the lovely people working there for the good time.
Hessel S — Google review
Small but a nice experience. You can tour the exhibition with an electronic audio guide in English. This is a script read by a non- native speaker so I did wonder how easy it would be to understand if English was not your native language. It contained all the key information though. In addition, the staff spoke good English and were kind enough to find us at the soap making workshop to translate for us. The workshop is about 15-20 zł extra on the entrance fee and is well worth it as it is fun and you get a nice souvenir to take away. Soap making is once an hour so we bought tickets then went to the Mill Island to wait for our slot.

Great experience and really underrated place in Bydgoszcz. Must visit if you’re around. The possibility of booking tour in other than Polish language is appreciated, since it’s not common in some places anyways. I recommend for everyone, especially with soap making workshop. The whole tour is not long, so you’re able to give 100% focus on the story telling, which is great!

Great place to visit and get some knowledge about the soap and dirt! I was really impressed by knowledge of the guide and the great way of briefing the history. I liked the workshops of making the soap- the unique experience! In small shop you can buy nice candles, soap and different products
Kasia R — Google review
Spectacular!!!! At the begging we made some soap (they gave it to us at the end) and then we learn about the history of soaps, perfumes and prejudices of the middle age... Also we learn a lot of details for many countries across the world. The guides were amazing... But I have to admit that I had my personal audio guide so if you want a tour in English the best that you can do is to ask first!
Christina M — Google review
Cool little museum with some interesting information on the historical aspects of bathing and personal hygiene. You get to make your own soap, which is handed to you at the end of the tour.

Great place to visit to get some cross history knowledge on dirt and soap. Opportunity to make ons's own piece of soap. The venue is run by young enthusiasts, eager to help with everything. The store offers all kind of souvenirs. Highly recommended.

Historic Walking Areas
Mill Island, or Wyspa Mlynsk, is a captivating gem nestled in the heart of Bydgoszcz, surrounded by the serene Brda River. This picturesque locale boasts an array of 19th-century industrial architecture alongside charming restaurants and cocktail bars that line the canal. Known as Museum Island, it features a delightful mix of historic red-brick buildings and unique museums such as the Modern Art Gallery and the Archeology Museum.
Well renovated Mill. It hosts two exhibitions, one is about the mill, beautifully done, hands-on explorations for adults and kids alike. Also, there is exhibition on Bydgoszcz history. Both are well done. The roof top offers the panoramic view. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Loved the experience. Tha you!

I really liked Mill Island in Bydgoszcz. The buildings are beautifully restored, and the entire area is very well maintained. It’s an interesting and definitely must-visit spot when you’re in the city. There’s also a free viewing platform – the view isn’t particularly impressive, but it’s still worth checking out.

So fun renting the paddle boats to get away for an hour. Downstream is easy but coming back you should prepare yourself for the upstream current. Recommend two people.

This is the Old town of Bydgoszcz. There are few buildings which has historical value. Very attractive architectural buildings are standing there around. Brda river is the greatest treasure in bydgoszcz and there are many water events river sides in June. You can visit there and can have enjoyable moments. Better place for walking as well. And there are few good restaurants to have a coffee or meal with your families.
Priyadarshani S — Google review
A really pretty area for a walk. There is a playground area for kids. There are some museums in the area as well. And there are plenty of good photo ops. I also noticed many nice restaurants and cafés in the area even though I didn't get a chance to eat there. Definitely worth your time.

Not a trail, really. Nice museums, a cafe with a large terrace, and lovely green areas and fountains.

One of the best places to take pictures, enjoy events or even resting or going for a walk or chill closer to the Bay. Clean, with toilets, accessible to handicapped people and safe. Definitely, worths the visit.

Mill island by the Old Town was Bydgoszcz’s hive of industry from Medieval times. There are a few mill buildings standing here from the 1800s. They have been spruced up and turned into attractions. Island has green spaces bordering the peaceful loop in the Brda, which has clear water and waterfowl on its banks. During summertime yiu can rent a rowboat, potter around the quaint specialty shops or sip a cold beer outside in one of many restaurants.

I had an amazing time here! It perfectly covers the history of Polish archeology. Definitely recommend!! (Note: i was here on my school trip.) It's just a little crowded on the weekends. Other than that, it's perfect!
Noah V — Google review
We had a wonderful time exploring the museum. The fact that the staff were dressed in period clothing and busy "going about their day" mending fishing nets, making pots out of clay, cooking food or selling their products made the experience very transporting. We could imagine what life looked like for hunter-gatherers or in an early medieval settlement. The staff were very friendly, eager to share information and most spoke English, which was very helpful for our mixed language group. All in all, a fantastic day trip both for kids and grown-ups.

The Biskupin Archaeological Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into how people lived hundreds of years ago. I visited the site with my kids, and they thoroughly enjoyed learning about daily life in the past. Onsite, you’ll also find a variety of souvenirs—such as whistles, bamboo flutes, and more—that make for wonderful keepsakes to take home.
Simeon S — Google review
A great and immersive place, me and my girlfriend spent the whole day there seeing everything (took about 5 hours), great food, and good handcrafted trinkets and pieces of art, some of which we bought, very much recommended for history/archeology enthusiasts.
Joseph F — Google review
Excellent museum, very interesting! Gives you an inside of how people lived in pre-historical times. Also very much appreciated: the enthousiastic explanations of the students in archeology in the most ancient parts of the museum! Improvements still possible: - mark museum on high way to make the museum better known - have English speaking people at the check-in - provide better facilities for wheelchairs

Lake Malta is a picturesque man-made lake that offers a variety of activities such as running and cycling. Adjacent to the lake, visitors can explore attractions like Jezyce with its street art and vibrant cafe scene, Kornik Castle where the legend of the 'White Lady' lingers, and the charming 'Vine Bridge' restaurant. In June, the Midsummer Night festival illuminates the sky with thousands of lanterns.
Reminds me of Pancharevo ezero in Bulgaria, a very nice walk around, but even better because of the many things to do around. There's a train, two roads - strictly for pedestrians and one for bikers only, ice cream and some restaurants at the far end as well as a whole amusement park and a zoo if you continue a bit further, But it's fine even for just a walk. Takes about 1 - 2 hours depending on your tempo. I loved that they put an honour to the medalists!

There are also ‘beach’ type place where you can play beach volleyball and football. Not for swimming or u can swim but at your own peril…….

Park Cytadela in Poznan is not just a simple park, but also an open-air gallery with sculptures by various artists and part of the fortifications from the Prussian era. It's a valuable place for nature and biodiversity, making it popular for picnics and leisurely strolls. The park houses the historic Cytadela Fort from the 19th century and remnants of the former military fortress.
Enormous park not too far from the city center. Super great playground So many things for kids plus lots of art all over the park! Very green and it even has a museum with planes and tanks from world war 2. Interesting a d funny looking restaurante/bar next to the biggest playground You can even get pizza to go. In imagine that during summer the place must be packed.

The Croissant Museum, also known as Rogalowe Muzeum Poznania, is a cultural museum located in a Renaissance tenement house. It is dedicated to showcasing the history of baking croissants, particularly the traditional St. Martin's croissant. Visitors can participate in interactive displays and exhibits to learn about the secrets of making this special pastry. The museum offers an experiential opportunity to bake their own unique Poznan specialty, the St.
Nice experience. The lecture about Poznań and the history of croissants is humorously led by young guides and is definitely worth a visit. We also got to taste a croissant. You can also sign up as a volunteer and participate in the production of a croissant. We bought the tickets online.
Marta V — Google review
Very nice and fun activity. The guy doing the show were really lovely and funny so it’s definetly a time you’ll enjoy. They tell about the origins of this tradition and explain how to make yourself a St Martin croissant. At the end, you have. A privileged view to the goats show on the town hill clock. I recommend this experience if you have time to spare in Poznan.
Juliana P — Google review
The Rogalowe croissant museum in Poznan, Poland is a fast paced talk, delivered with humour & lots of information. We found out the history of St. Martin & then how this very special croissant is made. It is interactive but not for the whole audience. They like to have between 6-8 helpers who complete different stages of the process of the croissant making. I have to let you into a secret that I did not enjoy the flavour of the croissant but knowing where it originates from more than made up for it.
Sally D — Google review
It is more of a workshop than a museum, where you can learn how to make Poznan's famous St. Martin's croissant. Even the baker explains it so interestingly and with such a sense of humor that you feel like you are on a talk show. It was so interesting and fun that we didn't notice how time passed. In the end, we couldn't help but watch the clock strike in Poznan's town square from the window. Although I bought tickets in advance from the website, it was also possible to buy tickets at the door.
Hüseyn Q — Google review
The St. Martin's croissant making experience is great fun! Suitable for all ages, very entertaining and well presented, and everyone gets to have a turn if they want to participate. The experience is very sensory friendly and child friendly, as they allow visitors to move around, leave the room for a bit, or take part in the class as they wish. Both hosts were knowledgeable and funny, they presented the history and tradition of these little pastries very well, and at the end of the class everyone got to taste a bit as well. There's also a great view of the town hall goats, if you join the 2pm class. Definitely book ahead though, as it does tend to sell out.
Bianca W — Google review
An entertaining experience and not what I had expected. The two guys running it were fun, made jokes and got the audience involved. From a little bit of history, to local dialect, to how they are made. 14:00 was the English version which was basically most nationalities that do not understand Polish. Worth a visit and definitely a nice way of spending an hour.

Unassuming rooms in a steam locomotive facility offering a museum & guided tours.
It is a unique place where you can see steam locomotives going according to the timetable. The depot and museum are worth visiting, especially for steam engine lovers.

Steam Festival May 2025. The advantage of the 'VIP' area is that you have a seat and a reasonably good view of the 'parade', run pasts, which was impressive. However, you can't see the opening ceremonies, brass band, cheerleaders, etc. It was very crowded with limited seating areas but quite a few food and drink outlets and retail goods. The evening light show was disappointing.

After wanting to visit for a few years, I finally made it. The displays were incredible, but I was truly sad to learn there is no longer a daily train service, only limited and on Saturday. I wish I had known that before arriving. However, I’m so glad I had the chance to visit; it felt like Disneyland for this railfan, and I may well be back!

Interesting museum especially for the enthusiast with several running trains and a number of dilapidated ones left alongside. Some old carriages the various descriptions even a snowplough that attaches to the big trains. I would recommend this place as probably one of the few places left runnung these beautiful masive living steam machines especially, if you are an enthuast, If you re not, still worth a visit and you can ride on a working steam train which I understand regularly runs on commercial tracks. So whilst I am not an enthusiast my wife seems to enjoy this sort of thing. Could probably spend a good half day, running back-and-forth on the steam train and combining that with the museum. They have a couple of trains that have featured in some well-known films, including the one in Schlindeler's list. Incidentally, that was a brilliant emotional historical film. If you are in the area and have some time, it is worth a visit.

Statue of Christ the King

Pilgrimage place
Sights & Landmarks
The world's largest statue of Jesus Christ, financed by donations from the town's residents.
My goodness this was amazing. The towns people donated the money to make this. It’s really really good. Steps are a short cut but there is a round pathway up to the statue. Nice because there are also other signs and statues to see as well. Also some statutes on the far side of the property. Some are behind trees so they are hard to see but the few I saw are very nice. They have out houses but we went into town and used a toilet there instead. Maybe a mile. This is right off of the highway. You see it from far away and easy to get to. Worth it.
Bobbi S — Google review
Very impressive! It's just off the highway, so it's definitely worth a stop over. It's taller than the statue in Rio de Janeiro, a lot less busy and completely free! Built using donations from the town's residents. Free parking too.
Christian C — Google review
Was definitely worth it stopping by here after seeing it from the town. Pretty cool and impressive that I actually saw Jesus here. Free parking and a food truck available for a drink on the go, which is nice. Not much to say about this place besides it being impressive and cool to see and visit Jesus Christ. We liked it, worth a stop.
Nikolai M — Google review
A huge statue of Christ. It is described as larger than the one in Rio de Janeiro. The statue is 36 metres high and weighs 440 tonnes. Parking was free. You can park a motorhome in front of the bridge. Visiting the statue was free. There is a small bar in front where you can buy drinks. You can take dogs into the park, but not to the statue.

The Christ the King statue in Świebodzin is truly impressive and worth seeing in person. It’s huge, visible from far away, and offers a beautiful view of the town from the hill. The place has a peaceful, spiritual atmosphere and is very clean and well maintained. The only downside is that there aren’t many cafés nearby, but overall, I definitely recommend visiting!

The sheer scale and precision of the ship lift left us in amazement. It’s incredible to see how effortlessly it raises and lowers massive vessels, a testament to human ingenuity and craftsmanship. The entire experience was both educational and exhilarating, offering a unique glimpse into the workings of a historic yet fully functional piece of engineering. If you’re ever near Berlin, we highly recommend taking the time to visit Schiffhebewerk Niederfinow—it’s a sight you won’t want to miss!

An impressive structure and it was awesome to see it in action. Fair warning though that the walk to get on top of it may be challenging for less able bodied people.

I never knew that there was something like that in Brandenburg. If you go there in a warm season, make sure to take a boat tour. We were lucky to get the last boat tour this year: it is an unforgettable and unique experience to sit on a boat being lifted to a higher river level! During the boat tour you get guide explanations, so you will still learn a lot even if you prefer the boat to the classical excursion 😉

Very cool the see the ship elevator and the price to enter is very reasonable

A building straight out of Starwars, but actually bigger, very real and without a cheesy love story! One of these anywhere would be a good reason for a visit, but here they have two! cancel your Dinsney subscription and visit Niederfinow, ideally u come by boat and take a ride!

This could be 5 star + We paid 5€ to walk around the old boat lift. Unfortunately all the information boards were in German or Polish. It was amazing to see the huge structure and to see how it worked lifting the boats, both were still in use. However, I found the whole experience a bit of a money spinner, you have to pay to park, pay to activate the App, pay to use the toilet and the only way to see the new boat lift is with a tour guide, but that's only in German! With all this money they are generating they could put some English information out. There is a small information centre which is free to enter and they had information boards on how it was erected and fortunately it was in English too 👍. The staff member we spoke to was very helpful and fortunately spoke some English which was a great help.

A lift for cargo ships working the waterways between the Oder and The Havel rivers. One that can lift 6000 tonne of ship and water 36 metres to navigate the differance in water level between the two rivers. Quicker than locks could ever do.

Something different - if in area definitely worth a visit We did a 3-day road trip around the Brandenburg region and this definitely was a highlight. During our exploring, we saw many beautiful castles, townships and lakes to this was something different. We were travelling with a Labrador. You can take a dog up. Dog-friendly. At the ticket kiosk, they gave us a pass that gave us entry via the door, rather than the rotating gate. Parking - there is one main car park - when leaving make sure you get a token (costs 3 euros for a car) from the parking machine next to the toilets, right by the drive-in/ out. Ha ! I thought you had to put 3 euros into the exit barrier machine. ...but no, it just takes the tokens.

Sprawling health center with thermal pools, saunas & steam baths, plus a salt room & spa treatments.
My Buddy and I had a fantastic time here. We spend over 10 hours here. The Sauna options are awesome. So many great choices. Everybody is friendly. A very relaxed and chilled place to enjoy a day of relaxation. They have Hefeweizen on Tap which is really great. The Food in the Restaurant was awesome. We had lunch and later dinner there. I can't saying anything negative about the food or service. We mainly chilled on the rooftop patio. Sunday is a great time to come, no many people around. The pools are fun too. Loved the floating quite pool. We had such a great time we will be back. Can't wait. Thanks for letting us enjoy the facilities to the end. We where some of the last to leave. Thanks for your patience. The employees make the place special. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Huh somewhere between 3 and 4 tbh, but somehow more for three. So in consideration of price, and comparing price this price with vabali I would say that this spa fails the most. 6h with saunas and therme included is smth like 95 euros and ok its fine but I would for this price expect few basic things: - there is no shower gel.. - really limited and hidden places for taking water even in new buildings there is no place for drinkable water - towels not provided - because of location I would expect that's cheaper And then few things that I would expect for this money: - Ordering in a restaurant is like you need to go to the place order food and then they will bring it to you, it's kind of a half self service - would expect a lot of more sun beds it's almost impossible to find one that's free and many of them are just covered with someone's towel. - just found at the end that it's forbidden to take pictures, I don't have an issue with not taking pictures but it's really not so obvious Positive things: - really nice big pools, salty water, sound pool - Thai restaurants have really good food - new building panorama sauna and last floor terrace is awesome Overall, most of sauna's are really small so for sauna part if you want to visit there is much better sauna focus spa and it's in the center of Berlin. But for pools, I would definitely choose this one over the Vabali.

The worst possible experience to come all the way from Berlin to Bad Saarow Therme with the family to experience that this place solely dedicated to senior citizens/adults on Fridays and Saturdays. Children-free days are Friday and Saturday. What a “family-friendly” approach :( Terrible! BIG NOT thank you to the management of this place for ruining my son’s weekend! :(

I've been to better spas..... My wife and I went here last night because we received a gift certificate for our wedding. We spent a little over 6 hours in the pool and sauna. Unfortunately, we didn't like it that much. While the saunas themselves are great, our favorite was the panoramic sauna overlooking the lake, everything else is tiny and feels cramped. The large saltwater pool is nice, but not as relaxing. And again, the space between the pools and the beds is very small and hard to walk around. A big positive surprise was the restaurant. We had the edamame, gyoza, mangu curry with shrimp and bun bo nam bo. It was delicious. Probably one of the best Thai meals I've had west of Phuket. Unfortunately, the evening ended on a sour note as the parking garage is also - surprise, surprise - super cramped and I scratched the rims of our car going down the super narrow ramp. To sum up: we've been here, but we prefer the SpreewaldTherme in Burg or the VaBali Spa in Berlin.

This spa is about 1 hour by train from Berlin then around 20 minutes by bus. Ideally you should spend at least 3 hours to really enjoy it. It offers jacuzzi, swimming pools and sauna. I loved the jacuzzi and the lavender sauna along with many cold and hot showers. Daily pass cost Euro 27 and 10 extra for sauna. Unfortunately, the food is very limited and the sitting is just wooden benches with ants crawling all over the tables. Obsulatly disgusting! There is a nice park overlooking a lake next to it , it's worth a visit.

This is one of the most relaxing and clean public thermal and spa places I've seen. It's affordable, you can reach it by train and public transport in less than an hour and half from Berlin. They have different kinds of pools inside and outside. I would like to give a plus point for the pool with underwater music and its relaxing atmosphere. I heard its textile-free for adults on Saturday. Make a phone call and reassure it before you head on to this beautiful oasis.

Super cool feelings during the winter time! There are lots of pool to chill inside and one of them in outside which is the coolest one! For 3 hours cost is 17 euro around, I paid in January 2020. They give a bracelet for entrance and locker to put your stuff safely. Only one thing was really annoying if you go there really busy time, after bathing when you’re exiting from the place you need to wait in the line to give your bracelet and for payment! It’s horrible system which I saw first time in my entirely life! Why they’re not taking money at the entrance and putting a box to want us to put bracelets... I didn’t expect from Germany sorry but disappointed.

Very rude service in the cafeteria of sauna area. They took my water bottle from my bag when I was not there, because it was a glass bottle, which is okay. I didn't know that it was not allowed to take glass bottle and it was not written anywhere. After visiting sauna I was thirsty and asked them to give me some water from my bottle. He started with very nonsense arguments and pour the water so angrily and gave it to me. I have no idea how it could be the behaviour of a service personnel.

We only used the SPA facilities and not the hotel, but the former where unexpectedly excellent (the hotel looks great too, if you like the sort). Spacious, new, impeccable with a large variety of thermal baths, fed with water from a salty hot spring 1,350mts deep, and an outstanding sauna landscape! The food and service at the restaurant in the SPA area was also excellent and can be accessed from within the bath area or from outside. Finally, great value for money!!

Good place to relax but has some downsides. 15 minutes of waiting in line to checkout and entrance to the facility. Moving around in the locker room was uncomfortable - narrow changing rooms, narrow passages and narrow lockers. Poor hair dryers. Showers - no soap to wash the body before entering the pool area. Children splashed around in the high-salinity pool - salty water in the eyes was not pleasant. I was positively surprised by the baskets for the private belongings of the guests of the facility, which should reduce the unused sunbeds, occupied by 'towels'. Floating in a high-salinity pool was a nice experience. Same as 'jumping' between hot and cold pools. It's a pity that everywhere descriptions are only in German. Only in the restaurant part I saw information in Polish. I do not know how many foreigners visit these thermal baths, but I think that signs/descriptions also in English would be useful. If I have the opportunity, I will come here again and try the sauna area.
Vanalai — Google review
The number of stars is the same because the pool area and the sauna area cannot be evaluated separately. The pool part deserves five stars, everything is modern, the pools are hot, the food in the restaurant is better and beautifully designed than in most normal restaurants. The sauna part deserves one star for the pleasant sitting by the fireplace, but that's all. A couple of saunas, the rituals are only done in one small sauna and they are so boring, no music and all more or less the same. Also, someone could occasionally wash the glass on the sauna door. And very kindly staff.

The place is amazing, it has many adequate facilities and you get quite relaxed. Statt was friendly and we had a good time. The only thing that made our visit a unpleasant was the fact that we are not white European looking people and if you go during the week, be ready to be the focus point from all the older visitors who sometimes seemed to be very uncomfortable with our presence there. It took me a while to get relaxed with so many people keeping the eyes on what I do.

Wow! This is the nicest place I’ve been to in a long time, there are indoor 5 pools of varying temperatures and salt contents, one pool is only 18C. Also inside there is a large hot tub and a snack and drink bar. There is also an outdoor pool. For an small extra fee you can use the sauna area, this includes multiple indoor and outdoor sauna and one outdoor pool. In this area there is also a drink and snack bar. The staff here are very friendly and helpful and I would strongly recommend it here to any one who has not been before.

Water & Amusement Parks
Tropical Islands is a vast water park with accommodations like rooms and cottages, featuring an indoor rainforest and a lagoon. The Aquapark AMAZONIA offers outdoor heated pools, water slides, and Balinese beds for relaxation. Conference facilities are available for business events. Guests can enjoy various dining options on-site. While some visitors had issues with check-in, they found the park impressive with its diverse activities and natural elements like animals and plants.
We had a great stay, but yes they use too much chlorine in the water and since chlorine is a gas and is not trapped well in warm water the atmosphere is feeling heavy of chlorine. This is unfortunate. Having said that, we had a great stay. Not all the staff are polite as expected but the greatest majority are good. They are just not very confortable with English. The service was good however. We stayed at the sunrise houses and it was a great surprise. It was clean and very fresh, almost new even.

It’s an incredible experience that I will never do again. The waterpark aspect is nice and huge, but every beach chair is taken by towels… You can change to swim wear in the dome but there are not enough closets for everyone and the ones that seem available are broken. Meaning the lock doesn’t work. The food is bad and the service to get the food is worse - it’s horrendous. They have hired just about 1 server per restaurant and they only speak German. Today our dinner restaurant at Ohana hotel where we stay, had run out of 2 food items, of 5 available, and ketchup. At least they said that they might have it tomorrow, but no guarantees. The room in Ohana is nice. And one elevator is broken so always a queue to get up to your room. You can buy a refill cup, that you can fill every 45 minutes, but there was always a queue and multiple times we experienced that drinks had run out or no ice… If you like regular quality food, then this is not for you. If you like good food, then Germany is not for you. So, all in all it’s an experience - not be repeated.

Tropical Islands - a place that will test if your team would survive on a deserted island. I came to Tropical Islands for two days with a group of 16 friends. I booked four tents (bookings were made simultaneously, from one account). Upon arrival, I discovered that two tents were in Zone 1, and two more in another one – about 5 minutes apart. It seemed absurd to split the group, but I decided it wasn't worth arguing about. Upon arriving at the tents, we discovered that one of our assigned tents was occupied by strangers, leaving my guests with nowhere to sleep. I spent approx. 1.5 hours at the reception desk discussing the situation, and the staff sent me from one employee to another, with no specific action. Each employee kept me waiting, without telling me how long or for what I was waiting for. The manager suggested moving one tent to Zone 1 and leaving the other four guests separately in Zone 2, or putting four people in a "house" in a completely different area from the rest of my guests. This would have meant we'd be housed in three different areas of the complex. We weren't given the option of moving all of us to the same area. The only comment from the staff was "we are overbooked, we can't do anything about it - you can write a complaint". When I asked ironicaly if I could give a one-star rating on Google Maps as compensation, the employee said yes. What I'm doing right now. After the argument, we were given a tent that leaked and was completely wet (pics attached). The staff told us, they don't have any protective foil and we had to deal with it by ourselves. When asked what kind of compensation we will receive for the inconvenience, wasted time, and ruined atmosphere, the employee said we could get 4 coctails vouchers. After commenting that there were definitely more of us and the whole group was now waiting and getting upset, the employee decided the problem was limited to one tent. Ultimately, we received 7 vouchers, which could only be used in the area outside the main water attractions. The worst customer service I've ever experienced. The entire complex advertises itself as an amusement park, although the attractions included in the ticket price are two swimming pools (one of which is a children's playground), four indoor water slides, one pool and one outdoor slide. During our stay, the outdoor water wasn't very warm. The outdoor slide didn't have enough water, and we stopped at every turn, having to push ourselves off the walls. The bar and food court, as well as most of the attractions, close at 10:00 PM – this isn't a place for adults looking to spend a pleasant evening, enjoy an exotic evening drink on the beach, dance, etc. If it weren't for the fact that I wasted a lot of time on Saturday arguing with the staff and having team-building activities planned for my guests for the evening, we would have left right after breakfast on the second day, as there was absolutely nothing to do for more than 4-5 hours. On the positive side, I came with fantastic people who organized themselves, made a great atmosphere and wanted to have fun together. Breakfast was also good. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it. The Polish Suntago is definitely more attractive, better organized, and has a wider variety of attractions for everyone and stuff is more pro-client.

We arrived at 6pm and waited in line for a little over 1hr to get checked in. Check in person was friendly but overwhelmed. We had to find our way around during our stay but it’s ok because my husband and my son are very good in memorizing the way. The frustration started when we wanted to check out. They have some check out machines that many people use to check out, but many of them are stuck because the machine won’t take the payment so in the end they can’t finish the self check out. After waiting and observing the situation, we decided to do check out at the counter. The person (a beautiful lady) told us how much to pay and I reached my wallet to pay to the cents with coins. This, apparently, created frustration for the beautiful lady and she had to shake her head while looking at what I was doing. VERY UNPOLITE, but also very German! Honestly, we had a great time at tropical island and in the end she had to ruin that experience. WHYYY???? I just don’t get it. But be prepared for this kind of customer service wherever you are when in Germany!

Impressive at first glance but we wouldn't come again. The initial impression is really cool, the jungle area and overall size of the dome is nice! But afterwards, you'll notice some things: - Food and service are absolutely horrible. We waited 10 minutes to be seated at a restaurant, and there was no one in front of us and the restaurant was basically empty. - Almost all arcade games and tables in the game area are just broken. Overall, our group agreed that it was a nice one time experience and maybe really cool for a single day stay with small children, but we wouldn't go there again.
Alexander M — Google review
The venue itself is genuinely beautiful and well-kept. The environment is immersive, clean, and provides a pleasant tropical atmosphere, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the unique setting. Dining Disappointment: The food quality is poor. It mostly consists of low-quality frozen products sold at the price of normal, fresh meals. This is a significant drawback for a day-long visit. • Locker Trouble: The changing room situation was frustrating. Lockers for personal belongings are open and seemingly available, but are unusable, which causes inconvenience right at the start of the visit. • Service Hit-or-Miss: The staff attempts to be nice and polite, but the execution of good service is inconsistent. Their efforts are visible, but the helpfulness and efficiency vary.

On balance a great experience enjoyed by us all. Would advise an overnight stay, as facilities can be used prior both check-in and check-out. Arriving around 17:00 ~ albeit in November ~ using the QR code meant little or no delay, leaving time for the pools and water-slides prior the buffet dinner. Likewise with an early start we were able to use many of the facilities ahead of the day-trippers before a buffet breakfast. An imaginative way of using a remarkable historic building, and an interesting contrast to the autumn weather beyond! Our only criticism stems from using the regional railway service to arrive (30 mins delay) and depart (120 mins delay)... maybe the trains ran on schedule back in the day?
Colin H — Google review
It was the most horrible experience. We arrived at 11:30, none of the lockers were locked. We tried dozens of lockers. We, like many other people, had to leave our things in an open locker. Or we had to carry everything with us. We were with three small children, so carrying everything with us was not an option. The air and water inside were not warm enough, everyone was freezing, both the children and us. Very few hair dryers. Finally, when we were leaving, I accidentally noticed the extra 10, 15 and 25 euros. When I asked the cashier what it was for, he said that it was for the bracelet that closes the locker, 2.50 euros and he didn't know anything more. He sent us to the information desk and didn't want to solve the problem. The information desk showed that it was a charge for our numerous attempts to close the locker. Of course they took 50 euros from us, but we spent a lot of time arguing and our tired children barely survived the whole time. I can only imagine how many people didn't notice and just paid whatever they were charged. And for all this terrible service we paid 200 euros and an additional 100 euros for food (only for two adults and three small children under 5 years old).

Nestled in the Marzahn-Hallersdorf district, the Gardens of the World is a stunning 40-hectare park that celebrates global horticulture and landscaping. Visitors can wander through beautifully crafted gardens inspired by various cultures, including Japanese, Chinese, Middle Eastern, Balinese, and Italian designs. Each garden reflects meticulous care and artistry.
A Gem in Berlin: Gardens of the World My recent visit to Gardens of the World (Gärten der Welt) in Berlin was an absolutely wonderful experience. This expansive park is a true highlight and offers a delightful escape from the city bustle. What truly stands out is the incredible diversity of the gardens. From the tranquil Chinese Garden of Harmonious Coexistence with its traditional architecture and serene ponds, to the meticulously designed Japanese Garden, and the vibrant colours of the Oriental Garden, each section transports you to a different part of the world. I particularly enjoyed wandering through the English Garden and getting lost in the unique landscapes of the Maze and Labyrinth. The attention to detail in every garden is remarkable, and it's clear a lot of care goes into maintaining these beautiful spaces. Whether you're a keen gardener, a nature lover, or simply looking for a peaceful place to relax, there's something here for everyone. The pathways are well-maintained, and there are plenty of spots to sit, reflect, and enjoy the surroundings. I highly recommend spending at least a few hours, if not a whole day, exploring everything Gardens of the World has to offer. It's an enriching and incredibly pleasant way to spend your time in Berlin.

Kids won't be disappointed as there are many attractions to keep them entertained (classic playground, water playground, make garden etc.). You can also enjoy the cable car with separately sold tickets. If you came here by car, leave it on the parking lot located next to the entrances, it's free of charge.

I have the year card. When I miss my motherland, I come to Deyue Garden (得月园, “Get the Moon”), the Chinese Garden. Yaoyue Pavilion (邀月亭) means “Invite you to see the moon.”半区丘壑是新开,几处亭台成小筑 means “This area is newly built, with several small and beautiful pavilions.” The Chinese character of the Korean Garden “将军” means General, and the character “女” means woman. The Japanese Garden 融水苑 means “a garden in harmony with water.” 融合如水以成和 means “harmony like water, bringing peace.” But I only understand the Chinese part of the two Asian gardens. The Chinese Garden has a teahouse, and the staff are 100% Chinese. Chinese garden has many fish inside; this kind of fish is only for viewing. In China, we say the Jinli (锦鲤) brings you luck. I hope the officials can make Chinese Garden postcards. It is a really well-designed traditional Chinese garden. Confucius is also a representative of ancient educators. The German sentence written beneath his statue is the original translation of “Do not impose on others what you do not desire yourself.(己所不欲 ,勿施于人)”. Have fun.

I went to Gardens of the World with high hopes. I love visiting botanical gardens in major cities, and I was expecting something along those lines here. The space itself is massive, with gardens themed after different countries and cultures...which is a cool concept in theory. In practice, though, a lot of the gardens felt underwhelming. Some sections were nicely done, but many just looked like patches of native grasses rather than carefully designed landscapes. If you’re hoping for beautifully manicured gardens and vibrant floral displays, you may end up disappointed. That said, it wasn’t bad for the price of admission, and it’s still a pleasant place for a long walk outdoors. With a bit of updating and attention to detail, this could really shine. As it stands, it’s an interesting but imperfect attraction in Berlin.

Gardens of the World is a beautiful and peaceful spot in Berlin, perfect for a day out with friends or family. You can even enjoy a small picnic here. It’s easy to reach by public transport, and there’s parking available too. There’s also a Lidl nearby, great for picking up snacks on the way. The cable car ride offers amazing views, and the gardens reflect different countries , a treat for nature lovers! Don’t miss the maze garden, it’s super fun, and you get a map at the entrance to help you explore. Tickets can be bought online, but I recommend getting them at the entrance — there are two quick counters. A must-visit if you’re looking for peace, fun, and a bit of adventure in the city!

Museum Berlin-Karlshorst

Museum
Historical place museum
Nestled in the eastern part of Berlin, the Museum Berlin-Karlshorst stands as a poignant reminder of World War II's conclusion in Europe. This museum is located at the historic site where, on May 8th, 1945, German forces signed their unconditional surrender. The building itself has a rich history; it originally served as the officers' mess for the Wehrmacht pioneer school and later became the headquarters for Soviet Military Administration in Germany.
A must-visit for anyone interested in European history. The Museum Berlin-Karlshorst offers a powerful and detailed insight into World War II, especially the Eastern Front and the events surrounding Germany’s surrender. The exhibitions are informative, well-organized, and emotionally impactful. It’s not just a museum—it’s a place that makes you reflect. Highly recommended for history enthusiasts and anyone wanting to better understand Europe’s past.

An amazing museum and completely free of charge. The exhibitions are well-curated, covering WWII and post-war history with depth and balance. All displays are presented in German, Russian, and English, which makes it accessible and easy to follow. There’s a lot to see inside, including authentic documents, weapons, propaganda, tanks outside, and multimedia content.

My favorite museum in Berlin. Simply the place where Germany signed its surrender during WW2. After the war ended, it was a headquarter for the soviets in Germany, with even Zhukov's office. The museum is a must visit for everyone that loves wars and history, like myself. You won't regret it. The entry is free but I'd strongly recommend some tips to help the maintenance of the building.

I visited the Museum Berlin-Karlshorst today. What an amazing experience to visit the site where WWII ended. A short ride on the S-Bahn from Berlin Alexanderplatz and another short (but beautiful) walk to the museum. The museum is free to enter. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They even have free lockers to store belongings. The main floor is simply breathtaking. The very room from where Germany signed the surrender from the greatest war in history. The tables, the flags. The microphones. Everything is there. The detail explaining everything is there as well. On the 2nd floor are amazing artifacts from this era. Very well done and explained. Outside is old Soviet Military equipment from WWI. Having been to the Wannsee Conference house, and other sites, another house that played a major role in world history. This is a Must visit for history lovers. A do not miss while in Berlin. I loved my visit.
Michael M — Google review
Extremely informative museum, it displays the events on the Eastern Front in a way that is not influenced by politics nor propaganda and is generally ill-covered in school or documentaries. It features lots of original photos and documents, complemented by several small arms and four armoured vehicles outside, perfectly preserved. I would suggest planning one hour for a short visit and a bit less than two hours for a thorough tour.

A hidden gem outside the city’s main tourist path. Why go? This is where the unconditional surrender of the German armed forces was signed, officially ending World War II in Europe, truly remarkable! Everything is well organized, the location is conveniently close to an S-Bahn station, and the staff super profesional and welcoming.
