Unreal experience with Exclaim Enduro Tours! What an incredible day riding through the Troodos Mountains with the amazing team at Exclaim Enduro Tours. From start to finish, it was one of the best things I’ve ever done. These guys are more than just guides, they make you feel like part of the family from arriving at the start point. Each run was carefully tailored to match our skill levels, so everyone was challenged but never overwhelmed. I rode the Beta 300 RR 2T, which was an absolute beast and handled the terrain beautifully. We ended the day with a cold beer and a great chat, the perfect way to wrap up an unbelievable experience. If you’re into enduro or just want to push yourself in a stunning setting with proper support, this is the place to go. Can’t recommend them enough. #ExclaimEnduroTours #CyprusEnduro #TroodosMountains #Beta300RR #RideWithTheBestb

Awesome trails. Awesome bikes. Awesome family. Awesome experience. No matter your level of riding skill these guys will make sure you have a fantastic time. I came solo from the other side of the island whilst on a family holiday and I was overwhelmed by the welcoming I received upon arrival. We did a 68km loop in the Troodos mountains, including the K1 challenge which is the most awesome hill climb I have laid my eyes on! It's been 2 days and I'm still smiling like a cheshire cat at how brilliant the day was. I personally can already not wait to return... hopefully sooner rather than later!

I've had a lot of rides with Exclaim and not going to stop! Everything you want to get from enduro, you'll find it here. You can learn something new (there is a multi-level training program) or just ride incredibly spectacular routes of different complexity. Richard has an excellent talent to explain complex things in simple words and his sense of humor is amazing :) Strongly recommended!

Had a brilliant day riding with a combination of challenges. Richard was a great host and lead rider. Would recommend and will return. 👍

I was on holiday with my family but couldn't not miss an opportunity to ride for at least one day in Cyprus. The ride with Exclaim Tours was fantastic, we had a proper hard day with Rich and his son Alex, 35 degrees whole day tour was a blast, very challenging but so enjoyable. I would recommend it to everyone, to all levels. Richards was very adaptable, it was 2 riders in the group, myself and Roman, we were similar level but stamina wise I asked for some challenges and Richard was happy to provide them to me. It was an amazing day, full of challenges and I was very happy with it. We had a long good chat with a beer afterwards also, so it was a great to discuss not just the riding stuff but also some general topics. I will definitely ride again with Exclaim Tours if I visit Cyprus in the future. Cheers.
Marek K — Google review
Definitely a 20 out of 10 experience and the best time I had in Cyprus. Had an AMAZING time Raiding with Richard and Alex. It was my first time on Enduro bike (I ride adventure usually), and now I think I need to get one Richard and Alex were super helpful and professional. They did an excellent job of adjusting the riding level for each rider. Richard took me on the tour through the chicken lane while Alex took Michael (other guest on the day) through the more advanced obstacles. Definitely recommend and definitely will be back to enjoy the amazing lanndscape and playground. Next time, I plan to come for several days that will include proper training. Thanks Exclaim team, for an awesome experience!! Can't wait to be back. Cheers!🍻 Tomer

Holy Monastery of Panagia Machaira

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Machairas Monastery, established in the 12th century, is located in a remote mountainous area and boasts picturesque panoramic views. The journey to reach this destination is breathtaking, with beautiful hills and interesting points of interest along the way. Visitors are encouraged not to miss this rare opportunity, as it offers an unforgettable experience during winter with light snow on the slopes. This peaceful location features a main room adorned with paintings and ornaments that are highly enjoyable to visit.
One of the most beautiful monasteries in Cyprus. The Monastery sits high in the hills of Cyprus (around an hour from Larnaca). Its white walls and red roofs stand out against the green hillsides, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. As you approach, you pass through a simple stone archway into a quiet courtyard, where flowers and olive trees add to the sense of calm. The cobblestone path leads you to the main church, where the famous icon of the Virgin Mary is kept. This icon, believed to have been painted by St. Luke, is beautifully decorated with silver and gold, and it draws visitors from around the world who come to pray and find peace. This monastery with its 1000 years of history, is a place of quiet reflection, offering a glimpse into Cyprus's rich spiritual heritage.
RJS — Google review
Beautiful and well maintained place with kind and helpful monks and staff. Herbs and flowers are very high quality and beautiful, not to mention that the on-site shop offers a huge variety of products, produced by monks. Oils, teas and tinctures are high quality. The church is beautifully maintained and open to the public without any fee, this is rare in Europe. Unfortunately pictures are not allowed inside the monastery but that is the magic of the place. Mountain roads are well maintained and but dangerous regardless.
Balázs B — Google review
I’ve never experienced anything like this before. Machairas Monastery is not just an old church in the mountains — it’s a place where something shifts inside you. As soon as I walked in, I felt like time stopped. Suddenly, I started crying — without any clear reason. No words, just silent tears. It was a deep, pure emotion I couldn’t explain. There’s a powerful stillness here. Real monks, ancient icons, and the sense that you’re touching something sacred. The small shop offers oils, herbs, candles, icons, and prayers — many of them with healing or spiritual qualities. This place stays with you. You just want to be quiet, listen, and be grateful.
Oksana O — Google review
The Monastery is a piece of heaven. The place is very calm and quiet. I did not stay too much as this is a place to pray and I did not want to disturb the monks. This is the place to stay a couple of days if possible to rebuild the connection with God.
Bogdan V — Google review
A beautiful Orthodox monastery nestled in the mountains. Men in shorts are given a robe to cover up. Only the church (a glorious sanctuary full of reverence and splendour) and the gift shop are accessible. No photos allowed in the church area. The shop sells icons, literature, honey, jewellery, Greek literature and more.
Steve G — Google review
The Holy Monastery of Panagia Machaira is one of Cyprus’s most significant and picturesque monastic sites, nestled in the lush Troodos Mountains near the village of Lazanias. Founded in the 12th century during the Byzantine period, the monastery is dedicated to the Virgin Mary (Panagia) and takes its name from the miraculous discovery of her icon, said to have been revealed to two hermits by divine guidance and freed from a cave by a “machaira” (knife) — hence the name Machaira. What distinguishes this monastery is its sacred icon of the Virgin Mary Machairiotissa, attributed to Saint Luke the Evangelist, which has been venerated for centuries as a source of blessings and protection. The monastery has long served as a spiritual refuge and cultural stronghold, playing an important role in the island’s religious and national history. Architecturally, Panagia Machaira blends Byzantine and monastic simplicity, featuring stone walls, wooden balconies, and a peaceful courtyard surrounded by forested slopes. Inside, visitors can admire beautiful frescoes, gilded iconostasis, and monastic treasures, all reflecting the deep devotion and artistic craftsmanship of Cyprus’s Orthodox tradition. Today, the Holy Monastery of Panagia Machaira remains an active religious center, home to a small community of monks who preserve its centuries-old traditions. Its serene setting, rich heritage, and enduring spirituality make it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the sacred heart of Cyprus.
Marek G — Google review
It’s a beautiful Orthodox monastery tucked away in the mountains. If you’re a guy wearing shorts, they’ll give you a robe to cover up. You can only go into the church — which is stunning and full of reverence — and the gift shop. No photos are allowed inside the church. The shop has icons, books, honey, jewelry, Greek literature, and a bunch of other interesting things.
Ewan H — Google review
It was a lovely 1 hour drive from Nicosia. The drive through the winding, twisty road through the Machairas Mountains was breath taking. Its Spring time & all the terraced fields were shades of green. The almond trees were starting to burst in to flower. The air was crisp & fresh. We arrived at the Monastery just before the start of Orthodox Lent. The monks were preparing the Church and grounds. You can feel the sacredness of this place. Full of peace, calm, beauty & sanctity.

Lined with delicate palm trees and small pools, the wide promenade features wooden piers and a park of sculptures. This picturesque area boasts numerous amenities such as cafes, restaurants, local retail shops, playgrounds, bike paths, fountains, and even a small skate park.
Nice walkable space just on the sea. Plenty of space for kids to play as well. You have a bunch of resting places in the whole length and a bunch of bars to choose between. Full of people when it start to get dark, it’s one of the main landmark in the city. Designated area for pedestrians, bikes, rollers and skates.
Ilaria T — Google review
Molos Park is one of the nicest places to visit in Limassol. It’s a long and beautiful seaside walkway where you can enjoy a walk, ride a bike, or just relax by the sea. The park has wide paths, green trees, fountains, and benches. There are also fun playgrounds for children and outdoor gym areas for people who like to exercise. You can also see many modern sculptures along the path, which makes the walk even more interesting. There are also wooden piers that go out into the water, perfect for sitting to relax, or taking photos. Many people come here in the morning for jogging or in the evening to enjoy the sunset. Nearby, there are cafes and kiosks where you can buy a coffee, ice cream, or a snack. It’s also close to Limassol Marina and the old town, so you can easily visit other places too.
Panayiotis M — Google review
Molos park is a perfectly designed modern infrastructure with long pathways, kids playground, restaurants and cafes, open gyms and many more. Very close to Marina and old city center. Loved the experience.
Mahesh S — Google review
It can be very popular in the morning before the heat of the day arrives - but this is a nice walkable space just on the sea. There is quite a lot of resting spots for picnics etc; and many cafes / bars to choose from. There is also plenty of space for the kids to play. An area for pedestrians, bikes, rollers and skates.

Beautiful and lively seafront promenade, perfect for a walk any time of day. Clean, well-maintained, and lined with palm trees, cafes, and playgrounds — great for families and evening strolls. Plenty of benches, bike paths, and sea views. Parking is available nearby, though it can get busy in the evenings and weekends. A must-visit spot in Limassol for both locals and tourists.

Wow! What a great find in Limassol. This place serves incredible gyros. The mixed pork and chicken pita was one of the best I've had. The food is super tasty, the service is quick and friendly, and it's very cheap. If you're looking for an authentic and delicious meal, this is the spot. Highly recommend!
Adi F — Google review
One of my favourite seafront walks ever. Views of the sea are beautiful, the sculptures are absolutely gorgeous. Plenty of beaches to take a seat and enjoy atmosphere. The swimming pools add a very modern touch.

Limassol Castle, located in the heart of Limassol's old town, is a medieval fortress with a rich history dating back to the crusades. The castle was rebuilt around 1590 and served as a prison until 1950. It stands as a dominant presence in the old town and offers tours for visitors interested in its historical significance. The castle also houses the Cyprus Medieval Museum, which boasts an impressive collection of antiquities spanning from 400 to 1870 A.D.
Lemesos Castle – Cyprus Medieval Museum 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Lemesos Castle is a fascinating historical site and home to the Cyprus Medieval Museum – a must-visit for anyone interested in history, architecture, or Cypriot culture. 🏰📜 The castle itself is beautifully preserved, with thick stone walls, arched halls, and a peaceful courtyard that takes you straight back in time. Inside, the museum offers a rich collection of **medieval artifacts**, including armor, coins, pottery, and religious icons – all carefully curated and displayed. ⚔️🛡️🕯️ The views from the rooftop are also worth the visit, giving you a great perspective over Limassol Old Town and the sea. 🌊🏙️ 📍Location: Centrally located in Limassol Old Town, surrounded by cafes and shops. 💵 Entry Fee: Low and totally worth it for the experience. Highly recommended for both tourists and locals – Lemesos Castle is a window into Cyprus’ medieval past and a lovely stop during your Limassol visit! 🌟🏰📚

Small but interesting place, where Richard the Lionheart married Berengaria and crowned her Queen of England in 1191 apparently (the only British royal wedding taking place abroad so far). The entrance fee is 4,5 euros I believe and it’s worth it. Not really for the views after climbing to the top, but mainly for the little exposition they have going on. Not wheelchair accessible. Highly recommended, you’ll spend maybe 20 minutes here.
André M — Google review
A bit less than what I would expect considering the history behind the place, the ticket cost 4.5€. You can walk around it and inside in 3/4 different levels with a bunch of stuff showing from different époques. Would recommend to go early in the day and be careful with hours, should be open from 9 to 17 but I found it close at 16:30 once. It takes 20/30 min. No wheelchair accessible.
Ilaria T — Google review
Limassol Medieval Castle was built in the 13th century on the site of an earlier Byzantine castle. It is the town's most popular attraction because according to fame the castle stands on the site where Richard the Lionheart married Berengaria of Navarre and crowned her Queen of England in 1191. Cells in the basement were used as prison until 1950. I’ve enjoyed the visit.
Montserrat H — Google review
Fascinating place,we visited on a Sunday when Limassol was quiet and we went to pay but where told it was free of charge that day. Spent around an hour looking at all artefacts found close by from excavation or replicas that depict things from the time. Really fascinating to see everything from weapons to coins to plates. Well worth a look if you're in Limassol old town.
Anthony S — Google review
The Castle and Church has an amazing history and a brilliant museum. All the artifacts are beautifully displayed. The Castle is in the old port of Limassol and is definitely worth a visit. The surrounding old town has lots of beautiful architecture with lovely restaurants.
Andrew S — Google review
Lemesos is a beautifully preserved castle in the heart of Old Town. The interior is a fascinating museum with interesting relics, which are well described in both English and Greek. The cost of entry is cheap and it took us about 30 minutes or so to tour the whole site.
Stephen M — Google review
Tickets are cheap $4.50, its in a cool area of town. Worth a stop by even for 30 mins, the castle is out of the heat and is interesting historically. I would not recommend making a day out of it, but the area is great, price cheap, and history interesting.

The fabulous Marina Breeze at Limassol Marina was a meal to remember. Situated alongside the marina you can arrive by boat and moor up alongside or arrive in the normal manner on foot. This was the best meal of our holiday. Great service, classic and modern cocktails, and superb food together with an affordable wine list including local wines. They even give you bread to feed the fish in the harbour. A lovely unforgettable evening.

Fasouri Watermania Waterpark

Mentioned on

Temporarily Closed
Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
The Υδροπάρκο Φασουρίου Watermania is a typical water park that offers various attractions including pools, slides and a manmade river. The park has friendly and helpful staff with lifeguards present in every attraction ensuring safety. The restaurant on the premises serves a wide variety of food which is delicious and the employees are polite. This park caters to families as there are many kid-friendly activities available as well.
Loved it! We went there with a group and had the best time. The park itself is very clean and well kept. They have many slides which are loads of fun. Eating inside the park is also not crazy expensive which we thought it would be. It was €30 per adult and parking was free. There are lockers inside you can rent however, we just left all our belongings on the chairs and they were fine. We were able to take our water bottles in as they don’t check bags when entering. If you get the pasta from the pizza/pasta spot Inside, just know you won’t get any sauce with the pasta! Pizza slices were good! Limited gluten free options and they don’t take American Express cards.
Rebecca — Google review
Very good waterpark. Food options inside are fast food like hot dogs, pizza and hamburger. They also have a few salads and wraps. Food is reasonably priced. Also lots of snack options. Recommend coming early if you want sun beds, but not really necessary since you don’t spend much time sitting anyways. They have lockers for rent inside the park. They are pretty small and a bit pricy. My only critique is that they could have done a better job separating tubes from different rides. Lots of people carried tubes from the slides into the lazy river creating a shortage of tubes. People were aggressively trying to take them from each other. The overall experience was still very good and highly recommend a visit.
Oskar S — Google review
Safety first. I don't understand the complaints from some people who leave bad reviews based on nonsense. Let's understand how much effort the staff puts into keeping customers safe, and you're complaining about cold pizza? I think the lifeguards are very well trained, and everyone who works there is very friendly and does their best. Warning signs are posted everywhere. Anyone complaining should also look at themselves and keep an eye out for potential danger. We had a wonderful day there with our family. It's a great place for children. We felt safe. I highly recommend it!
Magdalini H — Google review
To begin, using GPS you can find the park very easily. We went on a Tuesday so there was plenty of free parking in their car park. Upon entrance nobody checked our back pack for food or drinks even though we did not bring any as we planned to eat at the Park. Once entered we rented out a locker for 7.00 euros but got back 2.50 upon key return. Its best you leave your caps, sunglasses and footwear in your locker as they don't allow any of these on the big slides keeping in mind it just about fits a back pack. Its been years since I last went on rollercoasters or water slides so it was an enjoyable day for me and the Mrs. A bit tiring going up the metal stairs barefoot carrying the rubber dinghy"s but we managed. The good thing was that there wasn't that many people like the weekends. We ate at Pirates cove, burger and wedges and coke for me which the burger was dry as they had been cooked and packaged and left on the rack. Greek salad, spring rolls, water melon, slush puppie, and water for the Mrs total 40euros. After lunch we went to the Garra Fish Spa we did 12mins each for 8 euros each which was quite pleasant as it was the first time I have tried this type of treatment. The young lady supervising advised us if we come again (the same day) she would give us a 50% discount 2nd time round. After that experience we went for a Gloria jeans for coffees, a hot cappuccino and an Ice latte 9.50 cents. Place is clean with lifeguards around the park. It is a nice day out from the norm so give it a go. Overall with the discounted tickets, food, drinks, it came to about 50 euros each person.
Panayiotis J — Google review
The park could be more organized. Food is quite expensive considering the entrance fee, and the variety is limited. They could collaborate with restaurants to offer better options. There are small stands for mini donuts, crepes, and drinks, but prices are high, and with only one van open of donuts, the line was huge. Overall, it’s a fun place for families, but cleaner pools, more family tubes, and better food options would make it much better.
Thea ( — Google review
Great waterpark but overpriced. 30eur for adults. 17eur for kids. Food and drinks inside are also overpriced especially for what you get. The burger in the picture is like €7 on its own.
Gazza M — Google review
This is the most heartbreaking review I’ve had to write, honestly this place has gone downhill so much! I’ve been coming here for years but this year was just so bad! It was absolutely packed, loads of sunbeds and umbrellas were broken, the queue to get in was manic, the tubes were really limited, there was a wait to get into lazy river because you’d have to wait for tubes, also the worst thing is, the wave pool you’re no longer allowed past the 1.60 mark, which is basically pointless for adults now, definitely not going back! Tried to buy tickets on line but there isn’t an option apart from memberships.
Charlie K — Google review
A big and fun waterpark near Limassol. Although it was full when we came it was still very pleasant, and lines were very fast so it was not noticed at all. A wide variety of slides and other attractions for all ages. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced too.

Sights & Landmarks
Kolossi Castle, a 15th-century fortress with an extensive history of rulers including King Richard the Lionheart who married Lady Berengaria there, is a must-see landmark. This well-preserved castle boasts dungeons, original fireplaces and a mural of the crucifixion. The grounds include a church, aqueduct and an ancient tree over 1000 years old.
Very beautifull! When we arrived it was just us. This place makes you feel like you’ve travelled back in time and you can imagine how life was back then! The detailed descriptions and pictures inside help you envision how people were living back then! Even if it’s quite small, it’s a must visit!
Patricia P — Google review
Small castle with not much to see. We hoped to find some stores nearby selling the Commandaria wine, but we didn’t find any. Easy free parking. The entrance fee was 4,5 euros per adult. Some steps inside so not wheelchair friendly. The views from the top are also a little disappointing with all the construction around. You’ll maybe spend around 20 minutes here.
André M — Google review
Great place to explore. Castle is restored enough to walk around, all the way to the roof top tower.interesting facts about the castle are written on boards all around the castle.you can walk around the grounds aswell.2.50 euro each to go in the castle Toilets, shop and a cafe next to the ticket office.the man who was in the ticket office was very helpful and we found out he used to live near Birmingham, UK, and owned a chip shop!which we know of!

It was an interesting castle. I wouldn't call it a must see, though. If you only have limited time, I'd prioritize Kourion. But definitely still worth a quick visit here too, if you have the time.

The castle as a structure is well preserved, but its empty inside. It also lacks any descriptions or multimedia materials that would tell you the story behind it. Worth lobbing by, but don't expect anything remarkable.
Adam B — Google review
A reasonable stop if you are going past, but not worth going out of your way for. There's not much to it, but what there is is interesting. It won't take more than half an hour to go round, but it is well priced for that.
Jon C — Google review
Built in 1454 this is another must see historical landmark while visiting Cyprus, the site was once used by the Knight Templar and has a fascinating history dating back to the early 1300s, it's wonderfully preserved having great views from the top, id definitely recommend a visit
Jason G — Google review
Get to the top, and you really understand why the castle was built here. The spiral stairs are brutal and do not favour those with mobility issues or easily fatigued. The entrance fee is 2.50 euro and worth every cent.

The Holy Church of Panagia of Asinou is a UNESCO-listed stone church located in the Troodos Mountains, just 4km southwest of Nikitari village. This ancient church is dedicated to the Virgin of Phorbiottissa and features stunning 12th-century Byzantine paintings that adorn its ornate interior.
We came here the Tuesday after Easter and the place was so packed! I gather from the reviews that this is usually a quiet place...it definitely wasn't when we went. Frescoes are amazing, especially the one of christ inside the copula before you leave. It was very busy so I couldn't take photos as I would have wished but it was still worth it. 1.5 hour drive from Limassol.
Arash S — Google review
What's not to love about a 1000 year-old UNESCO heritage site tucked in the middle of the Troodos mountains. Every single interior wall is adorned with stunning frescoes, all of which still retain remarkable color depth. The drive is quite beautiful, as well.
J M — Google review
The Holy Church of Panagia of Asinou is one of Cyprus’s most celebrated Byzantine monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located near the village of Nikitari in the Troodos Mountains. Built in the early 12th century, this small yet magnificent church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary of Forviotissa and is world-renowned for its exceptionally well-preserved Byzantine frescoes. The interior of the church is completely covered with vivid wall paintings that span from the 12th to the 17th centuries, illustrating scenes from the life of Christ, the Virgin Mary, and various saints. These frescoes are among the finest examples of Byzantine and post-Byzantine art in the Eastern Mediterranean, showcasing incredible color, detail, and emotional depth. Surrounded by pine forests and mountain landscapes, the church exudes an atmosphere of quiet spirituality and timeless beauty. Its simple stone architecture contrasts beautifully with the rich decoration inside, creating a deeply moving experience for every visitor. Panagia of Asinou is a masterpiece of faith and art, offering a glimpse into the spiritual and artistic soul of medieval Cyprus — a must-see for lovers of history, culture, and sacred heritage.
Marek G — Google review
A beautifully-decorated ancient church, covered on every interior surface with intricate icons. "Small but perfectly-formed", as they say. Entry is theoretically free like with all South Cyprus museums/attractions, a small donation in the church box is expected. When we arrived at 09:30 in February there was no one there, but we asked the restaurant opposite, who called up the priest, and 5 minutes later an old guy turned up with the key! There are public toilets right next to the church, although they weren't very clean.

The Holy Church of Panagia of Asinou in Cyprus is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning 12th-century Byzantine frescoes. Nestled in the Troodos Mountains near Nikitari, this small chapel offers a peaceful, spiritual atmosphere. Visitors praise its well-preserved interior art and unique rural charm. A must-see for history and art lovers, the church reflects centuries of religious devotion and Cypriot cultural heritage. Photography inside is usually not allowed.
Dani B — Google review
It's such a beautiful church set in beautiful surroundings. When we arrived there, the church was closed even though it stated on Google that it was to be open. We were there in December 2022. We drove back to the village and found the priest who was more than willing to open the church. Father Kyriakos answered all our questions and guided us around all the wallpaintings in the church. Beautiful preserved and restorated. The church is a heritage site by Unesco. Well worth the visit!

Millomeris Waterfall Trail

Waterfalls
When leaving from this trailhead be prepared to go down one side of the canyon, up the next and then down again. It can be somewhat strenuous in some sections. For those not in good shape recommend driving to the parking area at the base rather than walking the trail. Good scenery!
Eric W — Google review
Beautiful. Very short hike though. Not accessible by wheelchair but is more accessible to get closer to by car before walking down and 2 minutes paved track. We did the 2.5km trail which took about 15 minutes to walk.
Rhi W — Google review
The 25-minute hike through the wilderness is very nice and has fantastic views. However, I need to note that in the summer months, the waterfall is minimal due to the drought.
Vikki R — Google review
Well, it is a nice small waterfall. Two ways to reach it: by a car 3 min walk and there you go or by foot from the village above where goggle points you to. We took the trail down and I went up to take the car and pick up the family from below. Nothing special there. Can be packed with people. Cold water and not that deep. Nice pass time trail. Maybe in the spring it looks better.
Nir F — Google review
More of a scramble than a trail. Proper footwear essential. Not for the faint hearted. Waterfall beautiful and peaceful.
Donna M — Google review
This trail isn’t easy, with lots of rocky patches, narrows, steps, inclines, and declines. The condition is pretty good, though, and there’s a nice valley view. I’m not sure a waterfall is worth the trip.
Vadim I — Google review
The waterfall is about 15 metres high, making it one of the taller natural waterfalls in Cyprus. The water flows from the Krios Potamos spring/river, creating a cool, moist environment with dense vegetation around it. There is a small pool / basin at the bottom of the fall where people sometimes swim. But water is cold (especially outside summer). Access is relatively easy: there’s a dirt road, parking, and a hiking path (~1-1.2 km) from near Platres village (starting near Panayias Faneromenis Church).
Stylianos K — Google review
Nice trail, but with small kids incase you are coming from the platres big parking can be challenging. Forget your babytrolley, just with carrier for babies and toddlers. The google maps is writting 10 minutes walk. Is more like 20-30 minutes with very big level differences. When you know the expectations, is different but dont beleive for the goigle maps 😅 there is a closer parking close to the waterfallcoffes. A lot of benches on the road so you can have a seat and snack. Also most of the area is good covered from the trees

Nestled in the picturesque village of Pano Platres, the Kalidonia Waterfall is a stunning 42-foot cascade surrounded by lush cypress and pine trees. The journey to this natural wonder is just as enchanting, with the Kalidonia Trail offering a delightful 2.5-kilometer walk through vibrant greenery and melodic birdsong. While the trail is moderately easy, be prepared for some slippery spots near the water's edge.
It took us about 1h to reach the waterfall (we didn't go further than that). Being early March we didn't see many people and have been able to park by the starting point. Wear appropriate shoes, it's not difficult but some tricky parts. We did enjoy this little hike.
Julie M — Google review
We did the 9km hike, first 3km ascent. Last 6km descent. Great views especially on the descent. We had overcast (see pictures) but with clear ski this should be a lot better. Tip: go to the trout farm restaurant!
Tonny H — Google review
Beautiful trail but not suitable for old people or people who can't walk and climb very far. There are a lot of rocks but the trail is worth the views! Made it to the waterfalls!
Ingrid H — Google review
A tricky hike up to the water fall - lots of rocks, tree roots and quite steep in places. 40mins to get to waterfall from where we parked. Make sure you have sturdy footwear and a bottle of water. And yes it was worth the hike.
Mathew T — Google review
Walked up from the trail starting 300 m down from the New Helvetia Hotel in Platres. It takes about 30 minutes. To me it was more as I regularly paused to look around. The landscape, trees, roots, stones, vegetation, are scenic and eery. Wear appropriate shoes and if in the summer do take water with you! It's not a hard walk but at times it's a bit challenging and turns a bit steep. And because it's very dry due to the drought, it's quickly slippery on the way down. I still would advise trousers although most people wear shorts due to possible snakes (vipers). Definitely worth it. Very appeasing.
Helene D — Google review
Great hike, peaceful nature and of course a modest waterfall at the end of the journey. Note that it takes up to 1.5km to reach the waterfall. The billboard at the beginning says only 1km
Alex N — Google review
You have to visit this place for sure , not expect HUGE waterfall , his small not so high - but “cute”. The most beautiful part it is trail to waterfall, easy trail recommended for kids . Few places for rest , beautiful nature, sound of water. Was there beginning of spring .
Oleksandr S — Google review
Highly scenic walk up to the falls. There are multiple paths to the waterfall so you have a series of options to get there from a 1 mile walk to much longer options. The water is natural and beautiful. Worked up a bit of a sweat getting there so it's a good work out. Lovely place to visit.

Pissouri Beach, also known as Pissouri Bay, is a popular destination for water sports and relaxation. The beach offers various activities such as boat hire and has several dining options nearby. It is considered the best spot for swimming in the area due to its clear waters. Visitors can also enjoy hiking trails around the beach. Despite being a bit of a drive, it offers ample parking, free public facilities, and natural shade under trees.
🏖️ A hidden gem nestled between dramatic cliffs! Pissouri Beach offers a spectacular blend of golden sand and crystal-clear Mediterranean waters. The mountainous backdrop creates a stunning amphitheater effect that makes every sunset absolutely magical. The beach is well-maintained with plenty of space, even during peak times. Water sports enthusiasts will love the consistent waves, while families appreciate the gentle slope into the sea. Local tavernas along the beach serve fantastic fresh seafood - perfect for a lunch break. There's ample parking and the facilities are clean. Definitely worth driving out here - it's less crowded than other Cyprus beaches and offers a more authentic experience. Must-visit if you're in the area! 🌊✨

A fantastic beach! Clean water, perfect for swimming, it is both an equipped beach (with sunbeds and umbrellas) and a free one. There are public toilets, there is a fantastic restaurant right on the beach, there are changing rooms. The parking is very big and public, so it's completely free. And it's very near to the beach
Erminia — Google review
Definitely enjoyed this beach, for some reason it was almost empty when we went at the end of July, so loved the quietness. There’s ample parking, a free public toilet and shower area, we found natural shade under some trees. The water was very warm… not clear, but pleasant. There’s a luxury hotel nearby.
Alexandra P — Google review
Pissouri - the rocky beach. Blue flag one, calm and clean. Get your aqua shoes and enjoy the beauty of that place. Walk along. It stretches out as far as you can see.

Amazing beach although the water isn’t crystal clear it’s very blue, quiet, super beautiful. The picture doesn’t do justice to its beauty!
Bluerain716 — Google review
Lovely beach, not crowded, you can find some shade under trees for free😀 or pay for an umbrella. Sea water is clean here virtually without seaweed
Pawel W — Google review
I like the fact that the main road runs parallel with the beach with shops restaurants nearby. The beach itself is a mixture of rocks and sand but it doesn't stop people from swimming. Water sports are available, also clean toilets, showers, changing rooms car parking and sunbeds and parasols to rent for a reasonable price. Overal we liked it.
Derek D — Google review
Very few people. Beautiffull sea. Clean water. Sunbeds and umbrellas are everywehere and are really cheap to rent. Lifeguard always present. You can rent pedal boats, water scooters and motor boats on the beach. Also you can find nude beach at the end of the beach.

Beautiful beach with interesting rock formations. There’s a big and free parking lot nearby. The stairs down to the beach are not too slippery and once you arrive at the beach, it’s indeed very beautiful. We were lucky because there were not too many tourist (we were there at around 10:30), so we could enjoy the place and take some photos. You can also come and stay at the beach, although it’s rather rocky, so we just came for a quick visit and admire the views.

The Stone of Romeo is absolutely stunning! It’s a beautiful coastline, and pure natural beauty that leaves you in awe. It’s a very photogenic place that I’ve visited in Paphos. The only downside was the waste bin there: it was full, overflowing, and clearly not well maintained. It detracts a little from an otherwise perfect experience. Still, the scenery more than makes up for it, and hopefully the authorities clean up the bin situation so visitors can enjoy the beauty without that eyesore.
Kristina P — Google review
Nice place to set on beach and enjoy the view. Free entrance and parking. No lifeguards, seats nor umbrellas. Some people swim but the beach has many rocks.

Beautiful and iconic place with amazing views and rich mythology. The beach is rocky but very scenic, especially around sunset. It’s worth a visit for the atmosphere and photo opportunities. However, there are no facilities nearby, and the sea can be rough for swimming. Still, a great stop if you’re exploring the area. It is free and northern need to buy and tickets

The Aphrodite Hills Golf Course in Paphos, Cyprus offers a fantastic experience with excellent service. This course is known for its forgiving layout and unique holes. Players are treated to breathtaking views and well-maintained fairways and greens. The entire staff provides exceptional service from the moment you arrive until the end of your round. The caddy master greets you warmly and ensures that everything is ready, including buggys and clubs.
This is a gem of a golf course with breathtaking views throughout the round. The course was in immaculate condition with very slick greens and manicured fairways. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The buggy rides between holes are quite long in places but offer the chance to get the spectacular views. Green fees are not cheap, but, as much as I am not a fan of expensive golf, I would go back.

WOW, what an amazing golf course. ALL Staff friendly, welcoming, very helpful. The buggys & club hire very nice, great technology on the buggy. Course plays extremely well, amazing how they keep it so good in these weather conditions, they should be very proud of themselves. I can not fault this place at all, highly recommend.

Just back from a lovely time at Aphrodite Hills Resort. Played the course twice and have to say from the pro shop to the caddy store and starters the welcome was fantastic. Big Ian was great. A rugby guy not even a golfer ha ha. Helpful on the course and some good tips beforehand. The course was in great condition and the greens where fast with breathtaking views. The par 3 7th over the ravine is up there with one of the best par 3s Ive played from the black tees. Hopefully be back soon as this is a fantastic course set in an amazing location.

Aphrodite Hills Golf (Paphos) - stunning setting, strict pace I played Aphrodite Hills at the end of October. The setting is spectacular. The course sprawls across the hills with luxury villas and natural ravines all around, and there are frequent views of the Mediterranean Sea. It is a big, spread-out property. You will need a buggy. Between two holes there is even a transfer of almost 1 km. Condition was excellent. Fairways were well kept and the routing through the hills is scenic and varied. Greens were close to perfect and definitely on the quick side. I only noticed a few wet patches where sprinklers had recently run. The range is tidy, many mats have built-in TrackMan, and shade sails keep it comfortable. Balls were €8 for a half bucket. Hole 7 is the postcard moment. You hit over a valley to the other side. The shot itself is not especially difficult, but the carry and the view make it memorable. Service and policies were the downside. Staff were extremely strict about pace of play. The buggies have GPS that tracks everything and you are monitored minute by minute. Two-balls were merged into fours, and arriving 2 minutes early to the 1st tee to get ready led to a telling off. Prices for extras were not clearly published. I had to phone to get rental rates and emails went unanswered. After my round the rental set was said to be missing an iron. I am confident I did not lose a club, yet the possibility that the set went out incomplete was dismissed and I had to leave my credit card details pending the greenkeepers’ search. That cast a shadow over an otherwise great golf day. Bottom line. World-class scenery and course conditioning. Be prepared for strict pace control, verify rental details before teeing off, and enjoy the views.
Wouter W — Google review
Lovely course, however the Caddy Master today was extremely rude to us saying we should have been at the tee earlier even though I was there 5 minutes before. We also had a nightmare with them allowing a spectator, they claimed I was going to be in a 4 ball yet I ended up playing on my own. Sounds like we had a similar experience to other people reviewing regarding customer service and courtesy from staff
Anish M — Google review
Just returned from a golfing trip to Cyprus with the lads - all of us agreed that this was the 2nd best course in the Paphos area, beaten out of 1st place by Minthis Hills. The course gets off to a slow start hole wise, not very intiguing and then on your 1km (yes that's right!) drive from the 2nd green to the 3rd tee, make sure you spot the pro tee for the hole on your RHS as you drive down the hill... the 7th is obviously the signature hole and to be fair the quality of holes thereafter is good. It has to be noted though that some of the tee boxes are not in a good state, and there are minor scruffy elements off the course, which does not give the course the premium feel that you think it should. The AH golf ball next to the water on 18 has paint/pieces falling off it, when you arrive its hard to know you're at a golf course of stature - you feel like your in the service area of a hotel. There's also some maintenance works being completed where you're dropped off and there are cones everywhere (which is fair enough) but then they've made little effort to ramp the floor where the works are taking place, so you and your buggy get rattled around. No ice in the buggy coolers for your drinks either. Small issues, but they all add up and if AH want to be the premier destination for golfers in Cyprus, they need to address these and perhaps even venture to Minthis to see how they deliver a premium golfing experience...

Kykkos Monastery is a historic complex situated on a lush mountain peak and renowned for its precious Virgin Mary icon. Founded in the 11th century, it has faced destruction from fires over the years, but the current grand structure dates back to 1831. Visitors are advised to arrive early due to increasing crowds later in the day and should dress modestly, although cover-up clothing is available. The monastery features stunning paintings and artwork, with a museum showcasing historical pieces.
A place of peace and beauty. We drove from Paphos, and the roads are challenging. The journey took about 1h 40m, but it was so worth it. The monastery has a museum that is so well presented and kept that it rivals some countries' national museums. I can not state enough just how absolutely jaw-dropping it is.
The L — Google review
It's beautiful, but it didn't leave a big impression. It's convenient if you don't want to/can't go up, there's a golf cart that takes you almost right to the temple, and it goes back and forth all day.
Lina G — Google review
Amazing paintings and architecture. Everything inside and outside was spectacularly well preserved. Monastery lacks intimacy of other more hidden sites, but it makes it up by the scale of wealth and arts inside. There's 5 euro museum inside, we didn't go in, the "free" part was more than enough.
Adam B — Google review
The nicest Monastery I have ever seen. 5Euro entrance but I would pay 20, it is so well kept and rich. Highly recommended.
Ildiko T — Google review
Beautiful tranquil place. Long winding mountain roads to get there but definitely worth the trip. The mosaics and artwork are beautiful. There is a restaurant and tourist shops opposite the Monastry and a small snack/drink shop at the entrance. Robes are available, as you need to be covered to enter - no bare shoulders or shorts/short skirts for women. It is free to look around. There is a museum which costs 5€ per person (free for children 12 and under) which has a host of religious artefacts and further information about the Monastry and its formation.
Jordy C — Google review
I loved this place. The mosiacs were fabulous. There are many historical artifacts in the museum, ticket entry required. We'll worth taking the time to explore. When visiting, please remember it is a holy place and should be treated with reverence and respect. If you don't, expect to be shouted at or thrown out: Ladies, cover up exposed breasts, midriff, and thighs. Guys, wear a shirt or short sleeved tee shirt and long shorts or trousers. It was embarrassing to see this happen. And remember to respect the wishes of the monastery and not take photos inside the church.

Kykkos Monastery is truly an awe-inspiring destination, a magnificent testament to Orthodox faith and a must-visit for anyone traveling to Cyprus. Nestled high in the Troodos Mountains, it offers not just spiritual solace but also breathtaking vistas that stretch across the island's rugged beauty. From the moment you begin your ascent through the winding mountain roads, the journey to Kykkos Monastery is an experience in itself. As you reach its elevated position, said to be on one of the highest peaks, the air becomes crisp and the panoramic views are nothing short of spectacular. It's a truly amazing and breathtaking setting that instantly connects you with the serene and powerful presence of nature. For anyone with an appreciation for Orthodox Christianity, Kykkos Monastery is iconic. It is one of the wealthiest and most significant monasteries in Cyprus, renowned throughout the Orthodox world. Stepping inside, you are immediately enveloped in a rich tapestry of history, art, and devotion. The monastery is famed for its incredible collection of icons, particularly the miraculous icon of Panagia Eleousa (the "All-Merciful" Mother of God), which is believed to have been painted by St. Luke the Evangelist himself. While the main icon is traditionally veiled out of reverence, the sheer number and intricate beauty of the other icons, frescoes, and mosaics adorning the monastery's walls and chapels are simply stunning. The gilded woodwork and vibrant religious artwork create an atmosphere of profound spirituality and artistic grandeur. Beyond the main monastery, a short drive or walk uphill leads to the "Throni of Panagia," where a large statue of the Virgin Mary stands, and the tomb of Archbishop Makarios III, Cyprus's first president, who began his ecclesiastical career here. This spot offers even more expansive views and a deeper sense of the monastery's historical and cultural significance. Kykos Monastery is more than just a religious site; it's a cultural treasure that encapsulates the heart and soul of Cyprus. The sense of peace, the historical depth, and the sheer beauty of its location make it an unforgettable experience. Whether you are a devout follower, an art enthusiast, or simply seeking a place of profound beauty and tranquility, Kykkos Monastery will leave you with a lasting impression. It is truly awesome.

Kykkos Monastery is one of the most stunning and spiritually rich landmarks in Cyprus. Nestled in the Troodos Mountains, the monastery offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a deep sense of reverence and awe. The architecture is magnificent, blending traditional Byzantine design with intricate artistic detail. What truly stands out are the beautiful mosaics and paintings of the saints that adorn the walls and ceilings. Each image is rich in color and symbolism, telling stories of faith and devotion that span centuries. The charm and craftsmanship of these artworks are simply captivating. The monastery also houses a small but powerful museum filled with religious artifacts, ancient manuscripts, and priceless icons — including one believed to have been painted by St. Luke himself. The atmosphere is serene, and the sense of history is overwhelming. Whether you're religious or simply interested in culture and art, Kykkos Monastery is a must-visit. The drive up is scenic and peaceful, and the spiritual energy of the site leaves a lasting impression. It's a perfect place to reflect, admire, and connect with Cyprus' rich Orthodox heritage.

While they have some conventional wines, they also have incredible natural wines, the friendliest service imaginable, and we were there around Easter and he brought out some of his family’s lamb pie which was so nice and we stayed for HOURS. Such a beautiful place as well, you must go here and my only regret is that we didn’t stay at his Airbnb

All the wines are made from indigenous grapes: xinistery, Spourtiko, Morokanella, Vasilissa, Mavro, etc. All the vineyards are close the the winery at 800-1100 metre altitude. The winery is family ran by a farther and his three sons, out of which two have studied in Florence and are currently working as enologist in the winery. The route up the mountain is really nice and the place is a pleasant escape from the hot of the cities and beaches. A must in Cyprus.

Highly recommend a visit to this lovely family run vineyard. Food and wine was all delicious, not to mention the great hosting and friendly service. Go here and spend a beautiful afternoon in the summer sun tasting local homegrown food and wine, you won't regret it!! ☀️

We took wine testing, all the options 8€, 12€ and the special 15€. The second and third special vines we're nice, other than this all the others were below average and we didn't like at all. The service was really slow. If you go there, at least one person should try the 15€ as it had some nice to wine, the others are not good.

We visited for a Vineyard tour and wine tasting. The location and site is amazing, as are the stories / education of organic natural growing from Yanni's and Maria. Topped by a tasting session with local and home made produce was a lovely experience

An amazing place to visit for wine tasting! The service was amazing with really delicate identification of vin yards and the history behind the winery! 🍷

Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
High-elevation monastery built in 1770 housing religious icons, a winery & a cafe with valley views.
Set high in the mountains with a scenic journey to the small village. The monastary is in very good condition, most rooms are open to the public including the bedroom with a brass 4 poster bed. The church is beautiful inside.

Pretty monastery. It's very small though, so I would not drive all the way there just for a visit. (We came from. paphos, which was a 40 minute drive. Would not recommend this)

A very well kept monastery with a beautful church a yard and a veranda with breathtaking views of the valley behind it. It is worth a visit if you are travelling in tne area and combine with other sights. The shop just outside sells local produce nuts, honey, shoushoukos etc.
Panikos K — Google review
A very old and distinctive monastery that is well looked after. Founded in 1770 by a monk ans is dedicated to Virgin Mary. I have attended and evening service which was very moving. There's a shop on the grounds of the monastery selling icons, books and their own wine from the monastery's vineyards. Also there's a courtyard at the rear of the monastery with great views. Appropriate wear is a must and if you haven't got any the monastery got some to borrow the visitors. Before you enter the monastery by the parking space there's a 130 pinus brutia tree. A great place to visit.

If you're in Paphos, Cyprus, and want to take a break from the coastal heat, it's worth visiting this monastery and exploring the surrounding area, where the temperature is more comfortable and the air is filled with delightful scents.

Small monastery in the top of the mountains. Must be very old and is dedicated to Virgin Mary. Small coffee shop just outside. No pictures allowed inside the church.

The Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery is one of the most serene and spiritually rich monastic sites in Cyprus, located near the village of Panagia in the Paphos Mountains. Founded in the 12th century by Monk Ignatios, the monastery is dedicated to Our Lady of the Golden Pomegranate (Panagia Chrysoroyiatissa), a title symbolizing purity, abundance, and divine grace. According to tradition, the monk rescued a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, said to have been painted by St. Luke the Evangelist, from the sea and enshrined it here. Since then, the monastery has been a place of pilgrimage and devotion, surrounded by peaceful vineyards and breathtaking mountain scenery. The monastery complex, beautifully preserved and still active today, features Byzantine architecture, a charming courtyard, and an ornate church with gilded icons and frescoes. Visitors can also explore a small museum of religious artifacts, and even taste local wine produced by the monastery, continuing a centuries-old tradition. Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery is a perfect blend of spiritual heritage, natural beauty, and Cypriot hospitality — a must-visit for those seeking peace, history, and a touch of sacred authenticity in the heart of the Paphos region.

Shopping
Kings Avenue Mall in Paphos, Cyprus is a modern indoor shopping center that opened in 2013 with the aim of becoming the ultimate shopping and entertainment destination for both locals and tourists. With over 120 stores, including high street and designer brands, it offers a wide range of shopping options. The mall also features a food court and a movie theater, providing visitors with dining and entertainment choices.
A nice, modern shopping mall with different stores and some fun places for kids. The food court has a good choice of cafés and restaurants at fair prices.
Dan O — Google review
Decent mall that offers a broad variety of shops. However, they are mostly chains or smaller shops that are not really offering quality goods. The facilities overall were clean with the exception of the food court. Lots of tables were not bussed and/or left behind dirty. Of course the general issue is that the people leave their things behind but there should also be more trash options so it’s more apparent for everyone. Parking is offered for free which is great. There are plenty of parking spots in their own garage.
Fabian V — Google review
A great shopping mall with plenty different shops l, food court, cafes, a supermarket and kids playing area. The mall is clean and easy to navigate. Plenty of parking.

Not really a fan of malls - but this one is not bad. It seems spacious and more airy than most. There is a food court area on the top floor which has access to an outside dining area, which is a very nice feature. A coffee and a bun at Cinnabon was a very pleasant, if calorific experience!
Karen J — Google review
Very moderns and clean mall, lots of shops and actually very reasonably priced in most
Ian H — Google review
A nice and comfortable mall and it has all you need: - easy to get there and enough parking slots - drinks/ food - shopping needs (supermarkets, clothing...) - its comfy (climatized, clean...) A good option for too hot/ rainy days. ... And also a crap store (sorry i mean Temu store, sorry I mean Jumbo store with loads of cheap plastic 🫣)

Nice mall to look at different stuffs as compare to the street. A nice food court, However I will prefer to eat along the resturant along the street. Interesting to see a cinema but dont seem to be easily spotted or know what movie is going on...

Ancient Ruins
Kato Pafos Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980, is a sprawling complex that encompasses remnants from various historical periods. This includes prehistoric sites, medieval structures, and Roman-era monuments. The park is renowned for its well-preserved mosaic floors depicting scenes from Greek mythology, found in several Roman villas within the site.
If you’re in Cyprus, this place is an absolute must. From stunning Roman mosaics to the Odeon theatre, Agora, ancient villas, and sacred sites — every step here takes you deeper into the island’s ancient past. We spent hours exploring the park, and it felt like walking through a massive open-air museum. The mosaics alone are worth the visit — especially the House of Dionysus, where colors and details have survived nearly 1700 years! The Odeon was another highlight — a small Roman amphitheatre with perfect acoustics and incredible atmosphere. It’s quiet, peaceful, and almost surreal to sit where Romans once gathered for music and theatre. ✅ Useful tips: • Go early in the morning — by midday it gets very hot and there’s little shade. • Wear comfortable shoes — paths are rocky and uneven. • Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen. • There are water vending machines placed around the park — super helpful!
Oksana O — Google review
Amazing Archaeological Site! Some of the best and abundant examples of roman mosaics ive ever seen. We went in August and it was hotter than hell so be prepared for the heat as there is very little shade and it's a very large site! Wasn't very busy, very cheap entry and plenty of free parking!
Damian C — Google review
Great place lots to see, very hot but the sea breeze helps. We spent approx 1 hour. If you can imagine it’s like an whole village has been discovered. The mosaic’ s have been well preserved and are stunning in the level of detail. What would be good is for a vitual/3d model was produce to bring the place to life as it would have been like I have seen on some documentaries. Take water.
Hayley C — Google review
Absolutely amazing place, if you like history and you are in Paphos you have to come here so many things to see that I recommend at least couple of hours preferably in the morning because of the heat and sun. Tickets are so cheap less than 5 euros and you get to see so much, from mosaics, ruins and entire amphitheater even a lighthouse to beautiful view of the coastline, definitely a must see in Paphos.
Kol2388 — Google review
This is a fascinating and extensive site. Some of the mosaics are amazing. It's well worth downloading the UNESCO app so that you can find out more as you go round. Good shoes required.
Jon C — Google review
This is an amazing place, the scale of the building remains and mosaics are incrdible. I had no idea it was so big when we paid a minimal amount to enter. The mosaic examples were preserved so well.
Emma T — Google review
A large park, no shade, bring water. Spend 2-3 hours there. You will see beautiful mosaics!

Castle
Paphos Castle, originally a Byzantine fort, has a rich history of destruction and reconstruction. Over the years, it has served as a prison and warehouse for salt. The castle stands at the edge of Paphos harbor and is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. It hosts various events throughout the year, including operas during the Paphos Aphrodite Festival.
Paphos Castle is a small but interesting historic site right by the harbor. It doesn’t take long to visit, but the views from the top are beautiful, especially at sunset. Worth a quick stop while walking along the promenade.
Yara B — Google review
Being so closed to the Archeological site, it’s a must. 2,5 euros per person to go in. Some steps, no lift available, not wheelchair friendly. You’ll spend maybe 10 minutes here, just to admire the views (not a lot to see besides that). It’s still worth it for the views. There’s an excellent ice cream shop nearby.
André M — Google review
Nice little place to visit on the harbour. Entrance fee was a few euros each and kids were free. Good vantage point across Paphos. One of the many treasures to explore here
David F — Google review
I'm afraid I have to disagree about this castle. Aside from the architecture itself, there was really nothing inside. And access is restricted to the platform only, with no possibility of visiting the tower. Considering the entrance fee is the same as for other castles in Cyprus (2.5 euros), I believe more could be done to enhance the visitor experience. Perhaps by adding historical displays or providing more information about Paphos and the castle’s significance.
NANA D — Google review
Restricted access and took us less than 2 minutes to walk up the stairs and around the top. €2.50 each Views were stunning. We went up for the sunset BUT they kick you out at 4:30pm (20 minutes before prime sunset time) Probably not worth the money but go once and then you’ve seen it!
Sophie L — Google review
You only need around 30 minutes to view the two floors of Paphos castle. There's not much to see inside except the history of the castle at the entrance, but you do get nice views of the Paphos harbour. Entrance fee is 2.50 euros.
Kypriopoulla — Google review
Not really worth the money (2,5€ p.p.). Staircase to the top floor (roof) is closed. Panel in the entrance is the only information about castle you will find. Just rocks and views

Archaeological Site of the Tombs of the Kings

Mentioned on
+95 other lists
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The Archaeological Site of the Tombs of the Kings is a vast necropolis dating back to the 3rd century BCE. It boasts underground tombs that were meticulously carved out of rock. The site offers a glimpse into ancient burial practices and architectural ingenuity. Additionally, visitors can explore nearby attractions such as the Medieval Castle, waterfront restaurants, ice-cream shops, cafes, and bars with stunning views across the water and harbor.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ When Dead Kings Flex Harder Than Your Holiday Villa Right, so you come here expecting some dusty old tombs carved into rock (which, fair enough, they are), but what you actually get is nature absolutely showing off whilst ancient history does its thing in the background. The archaeological site itself is properly impressive—massive underground chambers, intricate columns, and the kind of craftsmanship that makes you wonder how they managed without power tools and a decent coffee break. 🏛️ But here's the plot twist: the landscape steals the entire show. The way the golden stone contrasts with that ridiculously blue Mediterranean sky? Chef's kiss. The wild herbs growing between ancient stones? Pure poetry. You'll find yourself spending more time staring at the horizon than reading the information plaques (guilty 🙋). Top tips: Come early morning or late afternoon for the best light and fewer crowds. Wear proper shoes—it's rocky and uneven. Bring water and a hat because shade is scarce. And for the love of Zeus, don't rush through it. This place deserves at least an hour of your time, preferably two if you fancy some contemplative sitting on 2,300-year-old steps. 📷 Absolutely worth every cent of the entrance fee. Ancient royalty knew how to pick a view. 👑
Tom D — Google review
It's okay. We got some nice pictures. I quite like history/culture, but we walked all the way there and then walked around the huge site, so we were knackered before even starting. We didn't see the bus that takes you there until we'd explored the area a bit more, so I'd recommend looking for the tomb of kings bus if you don't have a transfer or bringing a card for a taxi, if you're not staying nearby. As others have said, they're not tombs of kings: they're tombs of officials, which was a bit disappointing to be honest. There are plaques dotted around to look at, and the map is perfectly readable (despite what others have said). However, you do have to buy the booklet for it. I think for the two of us the tickets and booklet came to about 10 euro. There's an early exit facing towards to beach, but I'm not entirely sure where it leads since we didn't take it. Final warning for the ladies - don't make the mistake of wearing flats and a long dress, if you visit. The area has lots of small rocks and stairs in and out of the tombs.
Jo — Google review
Very spaced out and hot, but beautiful ruins if you're into seeing them. The underground pillars, as I have photographed , were so beautiful. Not overly crowded with people, especially since it's spacious with a lot to see
Kyle F — Google review
An impressive site where you could spend half a day if you wanted, reading all the material and exploring every tomb. There was no queue to visit at midday on a weekend when I went, and the two euro entrance fee is very reasonable, which you can pay for by card. There’s not much shade around so take plenty of water but if you’re in the area then it’s a must visit.
Steve B — Google review
Must-See Historical Site (With a Major Caveat for Wheelchair Users) If you're a history enthusiast who loves exploring ancient structures, this site—with its incredible ancient tombs—is a must-visit. The experience is greatly enhanced by the small, informative notice boards placed at different locations, which give you excellent context on each tomb as you view it. The historical value alone makes this trip highly rewarding. Critical Accessibility Note (Power Wheelchair Users) Please read this if you require mobility assistance: While the site is spectacular, the paths are not wheelchair-friendly and present a significant challenge. They are very uneven, strewn with rocks and boulders, and navigating them was often more than difficult. I was lucky to have my daughter with me to help me through several difficult stages. I was unable to enter the tombs themselves due to these conditions, but I still found the visit worthwhile, if only for the magnificent views across the landscape. A positive note: I was not charged an entrance fee when visiting with my power wheelchair. In summary: Come for the history and the views, but be prepared for a very rough ride if you use a mobility device, and plan to bring assistance if possible.
Jacquie T — Google review
CLICKBAIT. No kings were buried here. So.. just tombs of rich families. Still pretty interesting. You will walk a lot, but i recommend downloading app "Pafos Unesco Park", which comes with easy map and audio guide, combined with tables on the site it's good enough. We spend here ~90 minutes.
Jozef R — Google review
A very interesting site where you could easily spend three hours exploring every nook and cranny, but is also easy to get round in an hour without feeling that you have missed anything. It's worth either reading up about the site or getting a guide book as there isn't a huge amount of information as you go round. We went off season and it was nice and quiet and a nice temperature. Good footwear and water needed. Well worth it.
Jon C — Google review

Coral Bay is a picturesque crescent-shaped ocean bay located six kilometers north of Paphos Town in Cyprus. The bay offers clear and calm waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming and water sports such as water skiing and diving. The area also provides amenities like boat rentals, inflatables for children, and nearby dining options. Visitors can enjoy the spacious sandy beach with plenty of parking spots, toilets, and a café.
Beautiful beach! Got here with the family. Got 2 sun bed (7.50€) next to a restaurant. You have water sport activities, we took the sofa couch (20€each). It was lovely!

Sandy beach, clear water, and a beautiful relaxing atmosphere, suitable for families. The prices are the same as other beaches we visited in Cyprus: €2.5 for a sunbed, €2.5 for an umbrella, or €7.5 for a full set (2 beds + 1 umbrella). Highly recommend, one of the best beaches in Paphos
Nader D — Google review
Great beach! Loads of sand and free onsite parking. You can rent sun beds or just flop out a towel like we did :) Nice and safe to leave your stuff on the beach whilst you swim, no pickpockets about! 1€ to use the showers (BYO towel), free to use the toilets. They have somewhere to rinse off your feet too of course. Happy days! ☀️

Nice sandy beach, clear water. Little bit more crowded than other beaches we were at, but still nice, we were at evening and during sunset, but in a day there must be many people
Natália K — Google review
One of the largest sandy beaches in the area. You can rent sunbeds or stay on your towel, you can buy drinks and snacks. You can try some water sports also. Parking is also available.
Armand G — Google review
We visited Coral Bay Beach in June during our family holiday, and it quickly became one of our favourite spots in Cyprus. The beach itself is stunning – soft golden sand, calm shallow waters, and a backdrop of limestone cliffs. Perfect for families, especially with kids. Services & Facilities: Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent (around €2.50 each), and lifeguards are on duty. Toilets and showers are free to use and kept reasonably clean. There’s also a small kiosk where you can buy drinks and snacks – water is sold in plastic bottles, which is convenient but I wish there were more eco-friendly options. One detail we loved was the box with free beach toys for children – buckets, spades, and other sand-play items left by other families for anyone to use. Such a nice community touch that made Amelia’s day! Fees: Access to the beach is free, you only pay if you want a sunbed or umbrella. Parking nearby is also free, which is a big plus. Overall, Coral Bay is not just beautiful, it’s also well-organised, safe, and family-friendly. A place where you can spend the whole day swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the view – without worrying about a thing.
Oksana O — Google review
The best beach of Paphos: sandy and protected. Beautiful in the morning. Very pleasant to swim in the late afternoon. Unlikely there are too many houses all around.
Paolo V — Google review
Our first beach in Paphos! This is a great beach with minimal waves to relax at. It is also a great spot for sunset. The water was refreshing and much warmer than the beach by the Aphrodite Rock. Rental for chairs/umbrellas was very affordable at 7 euros. There are also a ton of spots to just lie down with your own towels. Family-friendly and ample parking.

Really fantastic experience, all the staff was amazing and explained everything very carefully to us. We took a full day boat for a couple was great! Could explore the coast on our pace and enjoy! They did provide ice and a cooler box so for the summer heat you are all set! The boats are all new and spotless! Special thanks to Archie who did our briefing!

Wonderful and professional from start to finish. Super easy to book and find the spot, and really reasonable pricing. We rented a little speedboat and got a demo as well as instructions, plus recommendations where to go. When we went out to the ocean we realized the motor wasn’t working well, so not only did they bring out a different one to where we were, they also restarted the clock, so the rental time wasn’t eaten into. Awesome place to rent from!

Had a Mum/Teenage son October half term holiday focused on watersports. Used Latchi Watersports due to reputation online. They are a large facility with a lot of staff based in the marina at Latchi and at Anassa Beach for jetski, wakeboarding and sailing. We did: Wakeboarding lessons Tandem jetski Tandem parasailing Diving refresh & discover Further diving Rented a motorboat Safety was a strong feature which I liked. Staff were generally lovely and special note to Howie, Mike, Toby, Mikhail & Alex who were always friendly, smiling and happy to help. It was end of season and a few jaded smiles & pep talks so these staff were especially great at keeping up the enthusiasm for our holiday. Costs were perhaps a little high and given we had booked at least one activity every day for 10 days it would have been great if we could have made a package deal and received a little discount. However we were given a nice upgrade to our boat on the last day which was great, thank you. Diving here is great for refresh or learning: Marine life seen by us diving & snorkelling in October included: Cornet fish Parrotfish Baby grouper Wrasse Sea bream Rock Goby Puffer fish Moral eel Octopus Red Sea goatfish Squirrel fish Sea cucumber - Red Sea worm Lionfish Bearded fireworm Sea urchins Red starfish There are limited sites near here but other wreck sites can be visited elsewhere in Cyprus. The grass beds, amphora/pots and geology of the area is very interesting to see though & they offer many dive courses to improve your skills and as the water is beautifully clear & warm it’s a nice area to dive. We hired a boat to go and snorkel and have fun along the coast and you only need a drivers licence for this as they have a safety system where they take you out of the marina and pick you up so no tricky manoeuvring required and safety boats patrolling the coast to help with anchoring or anything else. A professional approach, the staff appeared happy and spoke highly of working there, and appears very well managed, we will most likely return.

Great and fun experience. We took boat Eden 18 which is the best choice if you’re two people. We got everything explained, so driving was easy even for a first timers. I would recommend to take full day instead of a 4 hours as there is plenty stuff to do.

Outstanding service and extremely knowledgeable and pleasant staff. Arriving at the waterspouts centre we were warming greeted by a very helpful member of staff who introduced us to our instructor for the use of the self drive speed boat. Our instructor John was very knowledgeable and helpful, answering any questions and advising us on the best locations and tips for area's to moor our boat. If you are a first time speed boat driver John's knowledge. advice and humour will be very reassuring. All of the staff were very polite and helpful. Our trip was great value with payment and deposit paid with ease. We had an absolutely fabulous time and would thoroughly recommend their services. We were so impressed we are now considering their diving and parasailing and look forward to returning again next year. Thank you all at latchi watersports for a really great time.

The beach offers wonderful views and a relaxed atmosphere, making it perfect for a day of swimming and sunbathing.
Lovely beach with sun loungers and umbrellas. Lots of people in the sea including children. Good snorkeling a little further out. Nice breeze and plenty of free parking. Great beach side bars and restaurants.

Great beach, comfy sun loungers with a good choice of restaurants. Very clean and modern toilets.

If you like a quiet beach, with a lot of space and pristine water, this is definitely a must to visit. It is a very clean beach, there were maybe 20 ppl in total end of July and the beach was veery big, also the sea even if a bit wavy, was super clean and clear. It was just perfect. Everything is there but shower is not free. Also there is a nice restaurant directly on the beach 5 minutes by walk that was very good. Definitely recommended. The only downside is to see human plastic trash everywhere, unfortunately there people not educated enough to appreciate this pearl and to think that everything is their property.

Nice beach and very clean water- shingle not sand, so beach shoes advised. Comfy sunbeds €2.50 and brolly €2.50. Nice and quiet 2nd week of September. Nicer than the busier beaches near Coral Bay, but obviously need a car to get here (40mins). Lovely harbour a short walk away, with local fishing boats and fish restaurants, and a supermarket for cheaper drinks etc. It's no Mauritius or Caribbean beach, but it gets 4 Cypriot stars from me.

Latsi Beach in Paphos is a coastal delight that offers a refreshing change from the more developed areas of Cyprus. The beach’s coarse sand and pebble landscape is complemented by the clear Mediterranean waters, inviting visitors to swim, sunbathe, and relax in a serene environment. The beach is praised for its relaxed vibe, which is a stark contrast to the bustling tourist spots. It’s a place where one can enjoy the simplicity of a seaside day out, with ample amenities like on-beach showers, toilets, and changing rooms ensuring comfort. For those who enjoy marine activities, Latsi Beach provides opportunities for snorkeling, especially around the man-made stone breakwater, where an abundance of fish can be observed in their natural habitat. The beach also accommodates less able visitors with a boardwalk that facilitates easy sea entry. Parking is convenient and reasonably priced, and the availability of sunbeds and umbrellas for hire adds to the ease of spending a full day at the beach. The local harbor and nearby ice cream shops offer delightful dining options, with smart, not overpriced menus that cater to a variety of tastes. In summary, Latsi Beach is an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful beach experience. Its combination of natural beauty, thoughtful facilities, and a laid-back atmosphere make it a must-visit location for both locals and tourists looking to escape the more crowded areas of Paphos.

We want to a few beaches in western Cyprus and this was the best in my opinion. The downside for some is the gritty sand / pebbles, but with decent beach shoes you'll be fine. The advantages are low cost, great food in the beach restaurants, nice views (particularly at sunset) and, above all, relatively small and quiet. There are some changing booths and showers and good toilets by the harbour (across from the Inca cream place).

€7.50 for 2 sunbeds with an umbrella. Some marine life for worth a snorkel. Steep beach to get in and out but lovely and warm (September) Nice atmosphere with restaurants along the front. Friendly staff. Nice gelato place. There is a car park right next to the beach which isn’t on maps but it was very busy. Plenty of parking between polis and latsi. Most take coins (roughly €2 for 6 hours) Pebble beach

Lara Beach

Lara Beach is a stunning and secluded coastline in Cyprus, accessible by a long dirt road that requires off-road vehicles. The beach offers pristine sandy shores, shallow waters perfect for swimming, and the chance to spot sea turtles nesting in the area. While the journey to reach Lara Beach may be challenging, the breathtaking views and tranquil atmosphere make it worth the effort for nature enthusiasts seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience.
A super nice beach with really shallow and warm water. They do turtle conservation here so the place to sit is limited as you need to keep enough space from the nesting areas. The road there is a bit rough but manageable with most cars if you don't go too fast

This beach is super secluded and its pretty hard to get here but its doable. The road to get here from coral Bay is pretty difficult if you don't have a 4×4 but it's definitely manageable even in a standard rental car. Even during the season, its rare you'll actually see a turtle here as they mostly come to lay eggs late at night unless you get to see them hatching. It's definitely cool to see even the left over eggs shells laying on the beach from the turtles. The water was very clear and the beach was also clean. Overall, I recommend this place for people who want a bit of adventure
Nadia C — Google review
The beach itself is AMAZING with so many turtle nests. HOWEVER, really disappointed about some people's behavior here. No umbrellas or tents allowed during the nesting season and there were still many! No respect for the nature. We also collected different kind of trash and plastic bottles left on the beach by the visitors. Really disappointed about people just thinking about themselves and their fun and comfort only.. Please be respectful, do not disturb the nests and clean after yourself 🙏

Off the beaten track...literally you navigate to this protected beach via a track that in places ideally requires a 4x4. There are lots of 4x4 buggies/ off road quads that are available to hire to travel around the Akamas. We took our regular hire car to the bay and just took our time and didnt come into any problems. The bay itself is protected due to it being. A nesting site for turtles. During our visits to Lara bay we snorkelled in the beautiful crystal clear turquoise warm sea and saw a varierty of tropical and Mediterranean fish as well as Green and LoggerHead turtles. We have fallen in love with thia bay definately worth the effort to get there.

A true gem in Cyprus, pristine beach, surrounded by hills and turtle nests. Well worth the 30 min one way drive on a dirt/gravel road. We had a regular rental car, no fancy 4x4 - you don't need these, it seems to be a scam that you do. Note that there aren't any facilities such as toilets etc, but this + road make it quite difficult to access, so the beach itself isn't too crowded - you have a sense of a part of the beach to yourself.
Adam B — Google review
A perfectly calm, uncrowded beach — ideal for families or groups of friends. We didn’t see any turtles, but the stunning landscape, crystal-clear water, and pretty easy access by rental car more than make up for it. See the picture below for the best route to the beach parking area.

Beautiful clear water, sand beach and if you visit at the right time, you will see some turtles hatching! Be careful and dont step on the nest/ and avoid using umbrellas...

ALL INFO THAT YOU NEED! Don't listen to the people that say that the road is bad!! I went from the direction of Coral Bay, do not go from Peyia! I made it to the beach just fine in my fwd Nissan note, I went 20-40kmph, took me around 20 minutes from start the of the off-road to finish. Maybe the road was bad last year, but it's ok right now. There are some rough patches where you have to slow down for a bit, but nothing crazy or scary. The drive is totally worth it. It's a secluded beach with no sunbeds, umbrellas or bars, as these are not allowed, so be sure to take sunscreen, food and plenty of water when you go there! Also there are no showers, so I would recommend taking some regular water to wash off the salt from yourselves. The water is warmer than on most beaches because it's quite shallow, you can walk out into the water for ~10m and it will still be at your waist, but you can swim further with no problem. The sand underwater is super soft. Unfortunately the beach itself is a bit dirty, you can spot pieces of plastic in the sand, sometimes even in the water. Most visitors pick up some of the trash on their way back, there is a big dumpster at the entrance. (Edit: went there again a couple of times in the middle of June and the dumpster wasn't there both of the times, just FYI) Now about the turtles. I went there twice in May 2025, saw a couple metal cages at the beach, under which there are eggs, but you can't see them as they are buried in the sand. Not too far from the shore I saw 2 turtles' flippers poke out of the water for a minute or two, I guess they were eating the seagrass. I wasn't expecting to see them at all. The views are breathtaking, there are mountains to the right of the beach, and the beach itself is like a bay. I think it would be a nice place to come to if you have kids as well, as they could play in the shallow waters and you wouldn't have to worry about other people. This is a MUST VISIT if you are coming here on vacation! Just make sure that your car rental company allows you to go off-road, some of them might void your insurance if you go off-road.

Restaurant Baths Of Aphrodite

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Baths Of Aphrodite Restaurant is a family-owned gem with stunning coastal and sea views. The owners and staff go above and beyond to provide exceptional service, even assisting with unexpected needs like helping mothers with strollers or capturing beautiful photos for customers. The food is amazing, offering a variety of dishes including omelettes, hand-cut chips, village salads, and delicious tuna sandwiches. The restaurant provides fantastic value for money in an idyllic location that's perfect after a swim in the sea.
I came across this restaurant in a stunning location while visiting the Baths of Aphrodite! Not wanting a full meal, I ordered a latte, dessert, and vino! The views were breathtaking, the weather was perfect, and it was one of the most relaxing times of my trip! Truly memorable!!

I really liked the restaurant, the food was delicious and fresh, the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is by the sea, on the very edge of the cliff. The view is amazing. Beautiful view during the day, and also after sunset. You can see the entire coast, illuminated by the lights coming from the local towns. Thanks to the hosts for a great evening.

🌟 Such a wonderful experience! The staff here are incredibly nice — so friendly, welcoming, and generous. They even offered us several things on the house, which made us feel extra special. On top of that, the view from the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal. Highly recommend!🌟

Excellent experience! The seafood was fresh and delicious, with prices that were very reasonable. The view was outstanding, and the service was quick and friendly. To top it off, we received the complimentary desserts, which was such a touch. Highly recommend!

The view is amazing. The food is ok, could be better (more tasteful). They did however brought complementary bread with garlic and watermelon as well as a very delicious honey pie at the end of our dinner. That was a really nice move.

Such a nice restaurant with an incredible view! The staff was so nice and welcoming (especially thanks to Niruda for your generosity and kindness 🙏🏼🥹)! The food got served really quickly and it was really tasty (best mangoes!) and also the wine is recommend. Will definitely come again 🩵

Amazing views from the terrace, make sure you ask for the light menu as they only gave us the mains at 15-20 euro each. Sandwiches start at about 10 euro. Really good value for money and worth a visit

Beautiful terraced taverna with stunning views across the coast stretching over the Akamas peninsula. Food was tasty, service attentive and quick, good fresh fish options. Really enjoyable.

Bodies of Water
Remote cove with calm water for swimming & a snorkeling reef, plus a few pocket-sized beaches.
Brilliant day out, only draw back was, advertised with snorkeling equipment and they do not have on boat... woukd if been nice to have known and i would of bought some prior ... skipper was great,
Mark B — Google review
Tourist Trap during the season ! Super crowded with many boat and tourists boats, makes it a poor experience. Yes the blue water is there but no way to have a decent and safe swimming. So find some beach and go there instead of waisting time ! Have fun
Rami L — Google review
Its a must. We had a great time by boat. As you can imagine, full of tourists, but enough space for you to enjoy the clear and deep waters.
May V — Google review
One of the must-see tourist attractions in South Cyprus. Water is beautiful and crystal clear. The water was chilly (understandable), you can swim or snorkel. Due to constant docking of tourist boats, you probably won’t be able to see much of sea life. The depth of water is about 2-3m. There are two options how to get there – by the boat or with the car / mountain bike. If you go by car, be sure to use jeep or any off-rode car. When I visited it in March, luckily it was not overcrowded.
Matúš K — Google review
Make sure you are professional hiker if you decide to take a walk/hike to the Blue Lagoon, otherwise you will get exausted when you get there and you will still have to make a way back somehow. Especialy if you are with kids, you are doomed. Recommend taking one of these offroad cars to make the way to and back. Moreover, the blue lagoon itself is very beatiful but very rocky and is not meant for swimming - there is no beach. But views during the hike are stunning, plan the whole day for it.

Lovely bit of snorkelling while mountain biking over the Akamas. Only accessible by boat or with off-road vehicles or mountain bikes.
Derek S — Google review
Amazing experience, try to take a quad if you can. Pull off and go swimming at different spots, blue lagoon is nice, but so much more to see along that coast. Lots of families / locals will just claim portions of the beach but plenty of room to share. Not much shade so bring a tent or cover if You plan on staying long. Also be careful as some roads are dangerous
David H — Google review
We have been here in mid-October, it was wonderful. We came with jeep from Aphrodite baths, it was convenient and not too bumpy. We think it is better than the boat, because you can lay on the beach, and stay longer. The water is crystal clear, nice snorkeling spots at the left side.
