Max-Morlock-Stadion

Stadium
Sights & Landmarks
The Max-Morlock-Stadion is a football stadium in Nuremberg, Germany. It was venue for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The stadium has excellent public transport connections and is easy to reach each point of the city. The atmosphere inside the stadium is great despite its size from other stadiums I have been to. I would recommend going to a local match vs Dortmund if you're in the area.
Attended the Bundesliga 2 match Vs Hertha Berlin in October! I was blown away with the passion of both sets of fans! German football fans really are unique and proud of their teams no matter what! I managed to get seats next to the FC Nürnberg Ultras and they were fantastic throughout the whole match! What particularly amazed me how the stadium is located on the grounds of the former rally grounds & the amount of history you can explore before you attend a football match! I will hope to be back again some day!

Devil's Cave

Mentioned on

Nature & Parks
Caverns & Caves
Devil's Cave, also known as Teufelshohle, is a fascinating multi-chambered limestone cave with impressive stalactites and stalagmites. The cave earned its name from local folklore attributing the disappearance of livestock to the devil. Discovered in 1922, it revealed animal remains that had fallen into the cave. Visiting the cave involves navigating through different chambers with tight passageways and low ceilings, making it unsuitable for strollers or carrying infants.
Nice cave, a pleasant guided tour (in German). Inside the cave there are quite a few staircases, be ready you go up and downstairs quite a lot. We were there on a long weekend, it was quite crowded. You buy the ticket first and get a time slot to visit the cave. In our case slots were available in about 30 minutes. The tour lasts about 45 minutes.
Дамир Б — Google review
We did the 40 minute group tour and found it interesting and informative. It is cold and wet inside so appropriate clothing and footwear is a must. Also, be prepared for a long walk. There is paid parking outside the caves and the max duration to park is 2.5 hours. There is a café at the exit. It also sells a few souvenirs.
Padmini S — Google review
The best place to visit near Nuremberg, amazing atmosphere, Nature at its best, chilly inside the cave with a lot of stones made of water drops over the year and one was 2000 years old. The guided tour with the German and English language and the guide was super nice. The ticket price was just 9 euros for adult, it was around 45 mins of tour inside the cave. Once in a lifetime experience for me. Deutschland Ticket works there in Schmetterling Busses. What are you waiting for?
Rahul P — Google review
It's wonderful! I'd recommend a guided tour and warm clothes. Not for disabled people. Lots of stairs and tight on several parts of the way. Absolutely worth it. Dogs are allowed.
Sabine W — Google review
We visited on a Sunday, early afternoon. It wasn't overly crowded. The tour guide also spoke in English. It was worth the trip. It was a good experience. After exiting the cave, you can enjoy a nice refreshment at the cafe, go for a hike, or visit the coaster park (up the mountain). We were very pleased.
Jody R — Google review
Great fun and very unique cave! The audio- and visual effects inside were fun too - and the exit outside of the cave was almost magical! Really beautiful grassy and moss-covered rock formations and mountain cliffs. Beautiful sight, our kids had fun here!
Emil K — Google review
Love this cave tour however, they play the English language guided tour after the group moves on — kinda rude lol but overall, its a nice tour/hike.
Kayla L — Google review
This cave is a Nice place to visit. with Kalk Deposits for over 1000s of years this place is unique to see. Cannot use Kinderwagon, babies need to be carried. Some paths are very very narrow . Only guided tour as per slot (in German) . Parking in Automat. View after the tour was also amazing (autumn season) 9 euro ticket for adults. Will be very interesting for kids.

Falkenhof Schloss Rosenburg

Sights & Landmarks
Castles
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Interesting all around. The Burg has a self walking tour with local history and animals that have been preserved. Cafe/restaurant/beer garden offers good food and drinks. Toilets are modern and clean. But the absolute highlight is the birds and the show. It was very informative.
Kosziescha D — Google review
Great place to visit while in beautiful Riedenburg. It's such a beautiful castle....the birds of prey exhibition/ falconry shows are wonderful to watch. There is also a great museum showing much history of the castle and history of animals in this area of the Altmühltal. It's a great way to spend your day whether with family, friends, or alone. I will definitely come back and bring more family and friends next time.
Mar Z — Google review
This was a cool experience! It was a very windy day, so the birds were struggling and they took care for that, but it was very neat to learn the history of falcronry and to see all of the cool birds. Do note- no big lenses on cameras!
Jennifer M — Google review
We love doing this trip every year. The kids enjoy the show, and it is exciting to see. Staff are kind and so many awesome birds to see. Even with the show being only in German we still have a great time.
L ( — Google review
The castle offers a pretty cool birds of prey show at 11 am and 3 pm every day except Monday. Entry costs 10 euros for adults and in that price is also included a visit to the small but nonetheless interesting museum. There's also a restaurant that can only be accessed with an entry ticket to the castle; food is decent but the prices are a tad too much for what is offered and the waitresses seem in a rush to get rid of people as fast as they can. If in the area, I'd recommend doing a circular hike to all three castle ruins: Rosenburg, Rabenstein, Tachenstein; it takes about an hour and a half and there are great viewpoints.
Lavinia I — Google review
Good place for kids and bird show was amazing. Little bit sad by seeing all birds in cages. But castle and place location was amazing. Entry free is about 8 euros and please check show time before going there. There are two show happen in a day, one at 11 and other at 3.30.
Ankit R — Google review
Excellent excursion outside of Regensburg! The flight show is definitely a must see. It's in German though, so it helps to have a German friend with you to translate. It's definitely worth the €8 ticket. There are only 2 flight shows a day, at 11am and 3pm. The museum is small but informative, included in the ticket price so might as well visit. From up the museum, you can see the beautiful view of the Danube. Transport: by car or bike, not really close to public transport

"City glasses"

Wonderful stone old bridge crossing the river. Right by the cathedral so nice to walk along the river and admire its architecture…
Alex B — Google review
Perched gracefully over the Vils River, the Stadtbrille—literally “City Glasses”—is a late-medieval water gate and part of Amberg’s historic city fortifications. Constructed between the late 14th and early 15th century (first recorded in 1454 as the “passage over the Vils”), it spans about 46 m across the river. What makes it magical is its two semicircular arches, which—paired with their bright reflections in the Vils—form the appearance of giant spectacles hovering on the water. It connects the former Electoral Palace (Kurfürstliches Schloss) on one bank with the old armory (“Zeughaus”) on the other. In the late 1500s, additional towers and stacked upper floors were built by court architect Hans Hauck. These were removed in 1698, giving the Stadtbrille its current elegant silhouette. Uniquely, this water gate is considered the “fifth city gate”, complementing the city’s wall gates. A third central arch—long forgotten—was rediscovered and reopened in 1996 during restoration efforts. A photogenic gem, especially at night when illuminated—perfect for that iconic “glasses” reflection shot alongside St. Martin’s Basilica.

(Translated by Google) If you walk through the city glasses in Amberg, you'll enter the old town. It consists of three arches. However, the river Vils flows through only two arches. Above the arches is a kind of wall with beautiful windows. There's also a roof above the wall. Between the arches is an angular vault. Definitely worth seeing.

Altes Rathaus Regensburg

Mentioned on

Historical landmark
City Hall
The Altes Rathaus Regensburg, or the Old Town Hall, is a captivating blend of Gothic and Baroque architecture that stands as a testament to the city's rich history. Dating back to the early 14th century, this remarkable structure was once the heart of civic life in Regensburg and hosted significant events like the Imperial Diet of the Holy Roman Empire from 1663 to 1806.
Awesome tour! I attended the German tour at 1200, and used a device that gave English translations at each stop. There is an English tour available at 1400, but I didn’t have time to wait for that one. Very awesome experience and beautiful scenes to witness in person. I highly recommend to all history lovers to attend this tour. Well worth the 7.5 Euro.
A. T — Google review
Rathaus is one of the most historically significant buildings in Regensburg. With its origins dating back to the 13th century, it served not only as the seat of the city council, but also as a key political centre of the Holy Roman Empire. From 1663 to 1806, its Reichssaal hosted the Perpetual Imperial Diet (Immerwährender Reichstag) – a unique institution of European diplomacy. Today, the building combines Gothic and Baroque elements and houses a museum that offers guided tours through the historic council chamber, courtroom, prison cells and interrogation room. The Altes Rathaus complex is accessible via guided tours which generally run between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with extended hours to 5:00 PM in the peak season (April–October). Tours commonly start at 10:00, 11:30, 13:30, 14:00, 15:00 and 15:30. Guided tours are usually conducted in German—English tours are available by prior arrangement through the local tourist office.

Beautiful historical old town worth visiting. If you have only one day to visit the city, make sure you spare one hour for a river cruise. We had a fun 45-minute boat trip with some drinks, food, and beautiful views.
Liz — Google review
the 400 dating rathaus maybe older. a very good english guided tour and the guide is funny, well informed and gave clear informations about the building. you will start from the counsel room of the 7 leaders till the meeting room and then the great ceremony Hall. you will then get downstairs to the dark side of the building with well preserved interogation rooms and tools with prison cells and the canons in the backyard market. interesting tour for the whole family. entrance os 7.5€ and duration around 1 - 1.20.
David A — Google review
We visited on friday, while there were wedding parties going on, so we couldn’t tour the whole townhall. We saw only the cellars with the torture chambers, despite that the tour was amazing and the tour guide very kind and friendly. There is an english tour at 14:00, however audio guides are available for every tour at the information centre.

The Old Stone Bridge, also known as Steinerne Brucke, is a historic medieval bridge in Regensburg, Germany. Constructed in the 1100s in Romanesque style, it spans 300m over the Danube River with its impressive 16 arches. For over 800 years, it served as the city's sole river crossing and played a crucial role in trade and government activities.
Visited on Sunday and was so busy at that time on the bridge. so stunning views and the wind come from the Danube river make so much of a pretty environment there. The perfect place to stay and enjoy your vacation day. The river bank of the Danube is so stunning in the afternoon.
Kasun A — Google review
Regensburg is a charming old city and this bridge is its emblem. It was built over 800 years ago. It offers splendid sights over the Danube. Lots of people go there, as well as on a picnic around it on the banks of the river. There are ducks living around too.

Regensburg is a romantic and a very beautiful city. The bridge area is a very dynamic area with a lot of people, many souvenir shops, terraces of all kinds. The atmosphere in summer is super pleasant.
Monica A — Google review
A beautiful bridge built in the Middle Ages with many arches across the Danube river. On both side of the river are the many tourist attractions and eateries. We came during some kind of festival and so fun to see so many people dressed up in the traditional clothings.

Go on a Sunday. It's less touristy and you can do a short walk for just about an hour around the place, take good photos and leave for other towns nearby.

It's one of the sightseeing sites you shouldn't miss once you're in Regensburg. Lovely, mediaeval bridge crossing the Danube.

We visited Regensburg for the 2024 Christmas market season. The old town is very walkable. We were able to visit all the Christmas markets on foot including the small market just across the bridge. We had the best pork sandwich with horseradish at this tiny market. One of the best things we ate during our 9 day Christmas market trip. Took this beautiful photo from the bridge.

St. Peter Cathedral, a magnificent example of High Gothic architecture, stands proudly in the heart of Regensburg, dominating the skyline with its impressive bell towers. Originally constructed around 700 and later rebuilt in 1273 after a fire, this stunning cathedral is not only an architectural marvel but also home to the renowned Regensburger Domspatzen choir.
Amazing place to Visit. Such an incredible architectural work. But if you need to go inside, you have to see their religious activities time. Because at that time doors were closed to the visitors.every thing was fine and tremendous work and were well maintained to the future generation.
Kasun A — Google review
St. Peter’s Cathedral is absolutely breathtaking. The Gothic architecture is stunning, with soaring spires, intricate stonework, and beautiful stained glass windows that create a peaceful, awe-inspiring atmosphere inside. It’s hard not to be impressed by the history and craftsmanship. Even if you’re not typically into churches, this one is worth the stop. It’s right in the heart of Regensburg, so very easy to visit while exploring the old town. Highly recommend taking a few quiet moments inside—truly a highlight of the city.
Todd R — Google review
Massive pure Gernan gothic church that was built from the end of the 13th to the beginning of the 16th century using the architecture of French cathedrals as an example. The inside is dark and has beautiful details like the silver altar. The stained glass windows from the 13th and 14th century are impressive and the most extensive, still preserved, collection of medieval stained glass in the German-speaking world. An interesting detail was a large waterwell with a hoist and bucket inside the church which was used as a secure source of water for the clergy, cathedral staff and cleaning.
Seimen B — Google review
The cathedral is truly impressive! A magnificent structure that’s hundreds of years old. I can’t even say whether I liked it more from the outside or the inside. Every day in summer, the organ plays at noon, it’s absolutely amazing! An architectural masterpiece that definitely deserves attention. The only downside is that the exterior has been under renovation for many years.
Boltomatis — Google review
Learned so much about German history from our Viking excursion to Regensburg Cathedral. Stepping into this medieval masterpiece, we were instantly awed by its towering Gothic architecture and the sheer scale of the place. The amazing stained glass windows, glowing with centuries-old craftsmanship, were absolutely breathtaking. Our guide wove fascinating tales about the cathedral’s medieval sculptures and its historical significance as a key center of Christianity in Europe, making the past feel alive and vibrant. The world’s largest hanging organ was a true marvel, suspended like something out of a dream, and its presence added to the cathedral’s awe-inspiring atmosphere. Learning about the Regensburg bishopric’s influence gave us a deeper appreciation for the city’s role in shaping European history. This cathedral is a must-see for anyone visiting Regensburg—its beauty and stories will leave you speechless. Highly recommend making time for this incredible landmark!

Walhalla is an imposing neo-classical edifice located near Regensburg, Germany. The marble hall inside houses plaques and busts of illustrious Germans throughout history. Visitors can explore the area, which offers clean facilities and refreshments. The temple's awe-inspiring architecture features intricate carvings and majestic columns. It provides a fantastic view of the Danube river and the city in the distance, especially at dusk when visitors can enjoy a beautiful sunset.
Simply a splendid spot! This beautiful, grand monument offers magnificent views over the Danube river from the high above. There is a cark park 5min walking distance away (€2.5 per car) and public toilets free of charge next to the monument. Walhalla itself is free to admire outside and it costs around €5 to enter inside. This is a perfect place to spend an entire day just sitting, admiring and relaxing, if weather permits. I loved it 🤩
Beata Ł — Google review
Magnificent views as the temple is perched on a hill. Trail connects the parking area to the temple grounds. Only outside the temple was accessible. Multi-level balconies at the front gave different perspectives of the temple. Plenty of parking on site. 2.5 Euro per car paid at a booth Cafe within the grounds. Free toilet as well.
Eugenio B — Google review
A great monument well worth visiting. The views are stunning, and the best part is that it's accessible for people with reduced mobility or families with strollers. A must-see if you're in Regensburg.
Macarena P — Google review
Impressive monument inside and out. The walk from the car park is around 20 minutes with some small slopes but it is worth it. The view from the top is amazing and the temple is impressive too. Doesn’t feel like Germany. I visited inside for a small fee I think around 7 euros. To be honest it isn’t worth it if you’re not that much into architecture. It’s just a one big room that you can see from outside. There’s not informations inside too which was a bit disappointing. But it is worth paying if you want to take your time and see more details. It’s a very impressive place!
Melanie M — Google review
We were in the area and had a friend tagging along this travel trip. We decided to visit Wallhalla and let him see this wonderful building, the inside and the outside. He was a little mobility challenged, and did not take the steps. There is a pathway around, and although its a longer walk, the slope is a gradual upward walk. It was misting and thus we did NOT walk down any of the steps because of the risk of slipping. I have been on a dry day and feel much safer descending down the step when they are dry. I cannot stress enough to be safe and go slow as any misstep could result in serious injury. Please follow all noted safety precautions too. I've attached some pictures of this visit. Note, walking around is free. Parking cost approx. $2.5 euros.
Geo-T22 P — Google review
A very imposing monument that is well worth a visit. The view from it's location is breathtaking and worth it just for that. The architecture is also awesome and gives you an appreciation for the awe Greek temples must have inspired in they heyday.
Patrick S — Google review
A very powerful place! Perfect spot for photos, with a stunning view of the Danube. There’s parking and a nice café nearby.
Boltomatis — Google review
We have driven past by this building/ hill on the motorway so this year we decided to check it out. About 15 minutes drive from the No3 motorway. Nice little curly road running up to the hill, to the car park behind. From the car park another about 10 minutes very comfortable walk needed to reach out to this magnificent building. If you have ever been to Athens (Greece) your brain probably gets confused for a second! The whole monument was magnificent, really great, with superb views over the German countryside and of course the river Danube! I’m glad we stopped as it was a very unique experience! It is suitable for wheelchair users (with some support). On the hilltop there’s a little bar and of course restrooms, too.

Flossenbürg Concentration Camp Memorial

Mentioned on

Museum
Cemetery
The Flossenbürg Concentration Camp Memorial is a must-visit for anyone interested in history. The memorial site has undergone significant changes in recent years, and it now includes two museums that display a wealth of images and historical information. Visitors are advised to allocate at least 2 to 3 hours for their visit, although those who wish to delve deeper into the details can easily spend more time exploring the memorial. Entry to the site is free, as is parking.
Remarkable place to visit. Being very carefully renovated to an excellent standard. Lest we forget!

This is part of Germany’s history, a very dark and sad part. The moment I stepped onto the grounds I felt very sad and emotional. I stark reminder of how evil people can get.

A very sad and memorable visit. It is an important memorial to a terrible period in history. I recommend spending some time here.

Although it was closed by the virus, it was still hauntingly real. It was so cold and then it started snowing and one could just imagine how it was. So heartbreaking and so necessary! We should never forget where hatred for "different" people led us!

A trip there is necessary to understand history and see it with one’s own eyes. Very sad yet very needed in those time of increasing hate in the world. RIP to all those who have lost their lives in the Concentration camps. You will shall never be forgotten.

Chebský hrad

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Remains of a castle complex built in the 12th century, with historical exhibits including weapons.
Unfortunately when I went there, it was closed as it was a Friday. I just walked around and made few videos and some photos. Definitely I’ll come again during its opening time. The bridge looks very ancient and surrounding is also very beautiful. This place is also not far from the centre, worth visiting it.
Adeel M — Google review
Kebský hrad is a wonderful place for a relaxing visit. I really enjoyed being able to explore the castle in peace, and the view from the tower is absolutely superb. I highly recommend this place!"
Adrian P — Google review
Nestled in the picturesque town of Cheb, Chebský Hrad stands as a testament to the grandeur of medieval architecture and the historical significance of the region. This stunning castle, dating back to the 13th century, is not only a remarkable sight but also a vital piece of Czech history. As you approach the castle, its towering walls and intricate stonework draw you in, inviting exploration. Inside, visitors can wander through its well-preserved chambers, learning about the castle's storied past and its role in local lore. The exhibits showcase artifacts and displays that narrate the tales of the noble families that once resided within its walls. Beyond the historical allure, the castle also offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Climbing to the castle's ramparts rewards visitors with sweeping vistas of Cheb and the lush countryside beyond. This vantage point is perfect for photography enthusiasts looking to capture the beauty of the region. The surrounding gardens provide a serene escape, ideal for a leisurely stroll or a peaceful moment of reflection. Chebský Hrad is not just a castle; it’s a cultural hub where history comes alive. Regular events, including guided tours and exhibitions, allow visitors to engage with the castle's rich heritage. Whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or simply in search of a unique experience, Chebský Hrad promises a memorable journey through time in a stunning setting.

The Palatium itself is beautiful and historically fascinating, but I was deeply disturbed to see live birds of prey tied on short ropes as part of an exhibition. This cruel and unnecessary display adds nothing to the history of the place and only leaves visitors with a very negative impression. Such treatment of animals should have no place in modern world.
Asia S — Google review
We spent a short visit in this place and everything was very interesting to us. Located nearby the heart of the city and very easy to find out. When you are in Cheb, this attraction should be added into your list.
Ngoc N — Google review
It's a nice place to visit. Lots of information and views. If you have a dog, you can only walk on the grounds but not go inside the buildings. I hated that they had a eagle and owl and I think a falcon or so sitting there all alone and bored on a tiny enclosure bound with a short leash. That's why I actually wouldn't visit again.
Sonja — Google review
It is a nice castle to visit but better if you speak czech or german as it is mainly in those two languages. The view from the tower is really nice and I wish there would have been one from the mill. Price is ok for what you get to visit. And we were lucky as most of the constructions were not affecting the visit.
Amélie V — Google review
This location was truly a gem to visit. Not knowing all of the history in Cheb, it was nice to go in and read the signs, and see the set up to their Hrad. The castle walls have stood the test of time.

Churpfalz Park

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Family-friendly theme park with water rides & slides, roller coasters, go-karts & miniature golf.
Very good place. It has for everyone anything. For adults and kids, for extreme time and relaxing time. You can find different types of zones. It was a good family day and it was fun for everyone.
Йоана Г — Google review
The park is nice for being outdated. prices are a little steep for what is offered at the park. Customer service, some of the workers there really need to understand that if they work with people they need to have a little bit of people skills, specially that dude working at the outdoor go karts. Smoking in the park should not be allowed as there are a lot of kids walking around at adult hand height and can be burned by the cigarettes, it happened to us. A no smoking park can be controlled by the owners, have a designated smoking section, just like other places do. Overall it was a good experience, updated areas could make the park more attractive, prices could be a little lower for the amount of rides.
Richard M — Google review
Great place for kids aged 4-12. The rides were really perfect for our 5 and 9 year old kids. Not too boring, not too scary, but a perfect fit. Plus, there's two bumper car rides (in German: autoscooter). You don't have to pay and wait for the ride to start, but grab a car and join. I also like the atmosphere in the park. It is a little bit older, but very attractive and down-to-earth.
Thorsten H — Google review
Children over 3 y/o even tho under 1m still have to buy tickets even though there aren't many rides where they can get on due to height restriction --> unfair pricing. Prices are too high for what is offered (very few rides, dirty bathrooms, ...) --> NOT recommended. Some employees seem not particularly friendly (this is an understatement)
Tu P — Google review
A wonderful time with our Granddaughter. The entire park is made for everyone to enjoy. Rides for all ages included withing the entrance price. Wonderful walking paths or ride around the park on a park train. Enjoy the Flower Gardens and there are 2 BLACK SWANS for you to enjoy.
Dave M — Google review
We were there with our 2 year old. Its very huge park with many many rides and attractions. It has something for everyone. I was surprised to see how many rides for 2 year old are allowed, some of them were even bit risky, but you will have plenty to enjoy. Its has rides, spielplatz, sandbox, indoor speilplatz, waterpark so just name it. Food from restaurant is very tasty with many options. Ticket of 28 euros is worth. Parking is free and plenty. Now on other side park is really dated. You can see the age on everything so dont expect something which is in mint condition or very well preserved. They need to prepare some shades its literally open ground and on sunny summer day its really hard to find relaxing space. Like park, its employess too need some refresher course on how to be in hospitality industry as some of them seems to be not so friendly. Food takes 30 minutes to prepare due to high demand and only 1 kitchen. Overall its park in its old age and deserves one visit. I wanted to give it 3 stars but 4 th star is for its variety and inclusivity of all age groups.
Viraj D — Google review
One of the best amusement parks , especially for you family with 3yr old kid. All the rides are enjoyable. We visited on Monday and enjoyed fullest. Service is friendly. People can spend 3-5 hrs. Many kid friendly rides and designed for kids. Go for it if you go near by. Update: 14May2022 3rd time in the park as we love it. But this time on a Saturday, the park is little busy. There is some waiting time for Dashing Cars, Go-cart, and water rafting ride. The Park closes at 5PM. Other rides are ok. So, don't go on weekend.
Murali K — Google review
2020 - Nice, especially for kids under 12. 2022 - We was back this year and a little has changed. A lot of attractions are managed by young guys or girls: once they start the machines they keep on watching the celly phone instead of the kids, they even seem to be working. This happened a lot of times. To the owner: be careful of the security of your guests and take a look of the workers always playing with telephones.

Singing Fountain

Fountain
Sights & Landmarks
The Singing Fountain, also known as Zpivajici Fontana, is a popular tourist attraction featuring over 250 water jets that dance to classical and popular music. Lit up after dark, the fountain offers seasonal displays with hourly performances throughout the day and evening. Built as part of the reconstruction of the Maxim Gorky Promenade in the 1980s, this architectural marvel was designed by Pavel Miksik and features specially composed music by Petr Hapka.
This fountain, embedded in the spa gardens, is uniquely magnificent and touching. It comes to life every odd hour, plays music and creates a unique water display. We were completely amazed and blown away. The flowers and the harmonious planting of the promenade and of course the Kursaal are also very worth seeing. One of the most magnificent spa towns I have ever seen.

The musical fountain was opened in May 2025 after reconstruction. It is very beautiful. We were there at 7 pm.

One of the most interesting attractions. Beautiful place and par around. In summer the best option is to go there after dark, because you will see a light show, not just music

Kolonáda Maxima Gorkého

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Kolonáda Maxima Gorkého is an iconic and stunning colonnade that epitomizes the essence of Marienbad. Its architecture, reminiscent of Carlsbad colonnade, exudes a feminine charm in its design and accents. Despite being surrounded by shops, it remains a beautiful historical site that adds to the city's character. The hall within houses several shops and restaurants, making it an interesting place to visit.
Lovely place, I enjoyed it so much. Worth visiting for the E song. Very quite and beautiful place. Streams are very rich on Iron and worth trying.
Richard B — Google review
Three sources to get magnesium extra doses and more…Edward cafe is very chic but you can also get a bottle of Don Perignon for 25.000csk a bit further down in the next cafeteria further down in the city. Fancy little kiosks in the source drink hall, cash point, great body care natural products for a gift, historical reference source beautifully presented with a modern interior. All we missed was a proper restaurant nearby: only coffee, ice cream and maybe minor snacks don’t fit the beautiful view - where is a great lunch/dinner place nearby if it s not in one of the hotels which do not offer the view????
Astrid L — Google review
Very beautiful and highly recommended to visit but before coming to this place you need to choose with whom!
Zaidan B — Google review
Under renovation but still very nice to visit.
Ildikó K — Google review
Iconic and yet very gorgeous colonnade which represents the whole Marienbad. It is very similar like Carlsbad colonnade and what is very cute, that u can feel, that it is feminine-like architecture in its form and architectural accent. It is not worse nor bad, it is simply Marienbad icon, which represents the character of this place. The only thing which is bit sad is the flooring, which should be reconstructed and changed to some marble, limestone or other much higher quality material that will last. But by the end of the day, still beautiful.

The Museum of Glass MOSER in Karlovy Vary is a celebration of the city's rich glassmaking heritage. As part of the renowned Moser glassworks, this museum showcases over 2,000 exquisite examples of glass craftsmanship that have contributed to the company's global reputation. Visitors can enjoy guided tours, witness live glassblowing demonstrations at the factory, and even purchase these beautiful creations.
Coolest thing ever seeing how they blow glass in person. There was no one else in our tour group so it was basically in private tour through the area showing and explaining to us how they create glass. Also tour guide spoke prefect English so it was easy for us to understand.
Reven S — Google review
We took a guided tour through the glassworks. We were shown how glass is blown in general, not more than that -- ain't anything special. How crystal is cut, how it is gilded and finished, getting its final magnificent look - this all is behind the scene, not included in a guided tour. The impression is spoiled by safety measures at the glassworks - workers work with liquid glass wearing worn-out open-toed shoes, wearing their dirtiest pants and tshirts that have long since served their time in the garage or garden. No hint of work uniform or modern protection gear, and while the guide assured that there are no accidents at the factory, one worker had his forearm in bandages.
Valery G — Google review
The guide was excellent (speaking great English). The tour took us through the factory and on to the museum. Leaving you free to browse the retail outlet if you were interested.
Richard S — Google review
We went on the English tour and it was fascinating! We got to see the workers blowing and shaping hot glass into a vase. Our guide was great, offering interesting explanations to our group of 15. The tour ended with a 15-minute video about the interesting history of the Moser family. Highly recommend!
Gert S — Google review
The Moser Museum where you must to visit when you come to Karlovy Vary. Because Czech is very famous about the full-color glass with cup, toy, collection,... But the price is very high for buying one cup. You can study and explore the process of creating glass, it's great for everyone and kids.
Tuấn T — Google review
The museum is small but beautiful and the glass works are real peaces of beauty. You can find free parking at the place, the cafe has a very nice design and the the museum provides an audio guide explaining the history and the works of art at the place After the museum you can find the glass shop where you can find beutiful glasses and vases for a bit of high price but the quality is amazing
Tom K — Google review
A visit to the Moser museum glass factory is well worth the trip. Although the factory is small, we had an english speaking tour guide who explained every aspect of the process in detail. The tour ended in the shop where you could buy various items handmade in the factory. They were quite expensive, however, after seeing that every piece is handmade it is understandable why.
Georgina A — Google review
"I had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Glass MOSER and was truly impressed by the beauty and craftsmanship on display. I was struck by the stunning architecture of the museum building, which was once a glassworks. The exhibits inside were equally impressive, with a wide range of glass objects on display, ranging from delicate figurines to intricate vases. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Museum of Glass MOSER. Whether you're a fan of glass art or just looking for a unique and interesting museum experience, you won't be disappointed. The museum's beautiful setting and impressive collection make it a must-see destination for anyone in the area."

The Diana Observation Tower, also known as the Dianaturm, is a 35-meter-tall tetragonal brick structure built in 1914. It offers breathtaking views of Karlovy Vary and its surroundings, with visibility extending up to 70 kilometers on clear days. Visitors can reach the tower by taking well-marked trails from the town center or enjoying a short funicular railway ride.
Diana Observation Tower is a great spot for panoramic views over Karlovy Vary. You can either hike up or take the funicular, which runs (at least in summer) every 15 minutes. Funicular is located right next to the Grandhotel Pupp. Once you reach the top, the tower is just a few steps away. There’s even an elevator inside, so you don’t need to climb the stairs—especially nice on a hot day. From the top, you get stunning views of the city and the surrounding forest. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town! 🗼

The ride up by funicular is scenic and relaxing, and there’s a lovely forest walk if you prefer hiking. The café near the tower is cozy and perfect for a short break. A must-visit place for anyone coming to Karlovy Vary!

Beautiful 360 degree view of the region. There's also a small, budget-friendly kiosk selling street food and drinks in front of the tower. If you don't have any serious limitations, I suggest getting a one-way ticket. Take the funicular up and walk down while enjoying the view. Observation tower itself is free. You pay for the funicular.

The Mill Colonnade is a grand structure in Karlovy Vary, boasting a Neo-Renaissance design and housing five hot springs. Situated near the Tepla River, it's considered one of the town's most architecturally significant landmarks. This twin-aisled walkway features 124 columns and hosts free concerts by the Spa Orchestra. Visitors can sample the mineral waters from the five springs along the colonnade, each labeled with its temperature and mineral content.
Out of all the colonnades and hot springs in Karlovy Vary, this one was my favorite. The Mill Colonnade is truly beautiful—especially from the outside, with its grand columns, palm trees, and the lovely street that runs alongside it. It feels like something out of a postcard. ⛲️ Inside, you’ll find several mineral springs, including some of the most well-known ones like the Mlýnský pramen (Mill Spring). The colonnade has a timeless elegance that makes it a must-visit spot on the spa walk.

Great place to visit and relax while drinking spring-water. On the vacation season there are classic music concerts going on in the afternoons. Totally worth going in the day and night, and it’s also safe to go alone, while there was no strange activity even if that is an ald city centre.

Absolutely beautiful placeThe Mill Colonnade is one of the highlights of Karlovy Vary elegant architecture, peaceful surroundings, and a true symbol of the city's spa culture. We loved walking through the colonnade, sipping the mineral waters from the different springs (each with its own taste and temperature). The atmosphere is calming, and the sculptures representing the months of the year add a lovely artistic touch. It’s amazing how you can feel the history all around you. Hot Springs & Geysers
Vřídelní kolonáda, also known as the Sprudl Colonnade, is a concrete structure built above natural hot springs in Karlovy Vary. The best-known spring, Vridlo, is the hottest at 72°C and shoots water up to 12 meters high at a pressure that releases 2000 liters per minute. This geyser and four other springs can be sampled for free inside the functionalist building from the 70s.
A beautiful city, the place is very special. Of course, you can't heal or strengthen your health from a single visit to these springs, but the experience of feeling and connection when I walk from spring to spring and taste the water that important people from all over Western and Eastern Europe drank, for hundreds of years, this experience is very special. You don't have to taste all the springs, but you can ask people which springs are best to taste in order to get an impression. I also bought the famous glass with a straw on which all the springs of the place are written. And now this glass stands in a vase as a memory of my visit to this special place
Elisha L — Google review
The Hot Spring Colonnade is home to Vřídlo—the hottest and most famous spring in Karlovy Vary, and usually the first stop on the town’s "spa trail." The water here reaches an impressive 74.4°C and shoots up as a powerful geyser inside the glass building. ⛲️ While the spring itself is fascinating, I’m giving it 4 stars mainly because of the building’s heavy, almost communist-era vibe—something a few other visitors have also pointed out. That said, it’s still a must-see. You can also learn some interesting facts inside—like how the local mineral water is used to produce unique stone souvenirs by letting minerals slowly solidify over time. Definitely worth a quick visit as part of your spa town experience!
Cyntia P — Google review
A fascinating spot to discover in Karlovy Vary! This landmark is not only part of the city’s rich history but also one of its highlights. The hottest spring reaches 72°C, shooting up to nearly 10 meters high. Built in the 19th century with a filtration system, the water here can be safely enjoyed straight from the source. It’s an experience you shouldn’t miss – just remember to bring a cup!

A very interesting place to visit, rich with history and plenty to learn. The site offers most of the explanations in multiple languages (Czech, English, German, and Dutch), making it accessible for a broad audience. The staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful. I rarely give 5 stars to anywhere but this place is fabulous. Top sight in Klatovy. It’s very modern with good explanatory information. A few video reels as well. The mummies are amazing. Most preserved I’ve ever seen a yet in the world. As they explain, it’s natural mummification because of the hot dry atmosphere. A must see in Klatovy. Unfortunately I can’t post pictures of the mummies because it’s not allowed by Google. Same as art that shows nudity. Art censorship

Lots to see and learn here, much more than I expected and more interesting too! Definitely worth the price and a visit. Edit: the mummies are definitely scary/disturbing to look at! May be too much for kids.

Loved the exhibit, which was well organized and full of interesting history. My only concern was the lady at reception who was unprofessional. Older lady who seemed easily offended. Felt the need to intimidate me for no apparent purpose.

Outdoor Activities
Plzeň Zoo is a must-visit destination for animal lovers, offering the chance to see a diverse range of species in a beautiful setting. The zoo is home to 1300 animals, including rhinos, cheetahs, hippos, and many more. It's known for its breeding program and conservation efforts, particularly for endangered species like the maneless zebra.
This is an amazing zoo. I’ve never seen a white kangaroo before. So many lions. It’s huge, we spent almost 4,5 hours there. Would recommend to use the ticket machines, very easy to use and faster than the cash desks.
Dominika N — Google review
The Pilsen Zoo is one of the best in the Czech Republic. The territory is very large, well-maintained, and green — perfect for walks. The collection of animals, reptiles, insects, and plants is impressive and diverse, making it interesting for both adults and children. There are playgrounds, convenient infrastructure, cafés, and small shops. A great place for a family day out.
Дмитро — Google review
Great non crowed zoo. The place was clean and lots of things to do. It was my first time at any zoo that I have seen lions ans bears up close and active. They also have a great Dinosaur park, you have to pay extra but overall very affordable.
Daniel P — Google review
Despite the rain, this zoo visit was absolutely worth it! The living and maintenance conditions for the animals’ welfare are a huge plus. The zoo is spacious, clean, and well-organized for both visitors and animals. Besides admiring various animals, it’s also very informative and educational. There are plenty of toilets and resting spots to enjoy a snack. It’s a very large zoo, and you’ll need almost half a day to see everything. I couldn’t see it all, but that just invited me to come back again. On all points, a well-deserved 5 stars!
Ar — Google review
It is a big place but most of the animals are either not available or no where to see .
Dobroiu M — Google review
I have visited zoo's across many countries. This one is an average one. No elephants and the setup for the animals too is not so great. The only highlight would be the lions at the entrance. So I would prefer visiting other ones like an actual biopark rather than zoo that has very less animals. It will not take more than 2 hours to cover entire place. Not sure why others have quoted that it takes more time!!
Anil P — Google review
Very good experience overall. The Dino park is very childish and small and is only good for children but it is very expensive. Don't waste your money for the Dino park. The zoo is beautiful and has lots of snack bars around. Quite big and we needed about 5 hours plus as there are many many animals to admire. The lemurs are the best as they roam freely around you. That alone got our money back which is very fun! The birds look the most unhealthy in the zoo as the cages have been built too low. The birds are not able to fly at all. The leopard mother is very fierce but her 2 cubs are extremely adorable. Recommended to go if you are in that area!
M T — Google review
It is a very nice zoo. We love giraffes and lions and tigers! The most awesome, though, we find the dinosaurs! The food at the dinopark was not very good, we will try some other place next time. The toilets were clean and easy to find.

Cathedral of St. Bartholomew

Sights & Landmarks
The Cathedral of St. Bartholomew, a Gothic masterpiece located on Republic Square, is a prominent feature in the historical center of Pilsen. Inside, visitors can admire the renowned Pilsen Madonna on the main altar, representing Czech Gothic art. Outside the cathedral, a small metal-forged angel is believed to make wishes come true with a touch. The cathedral's tower offers stunning views of the surrounding region and holds the distinction of being the tallest church tower in the Czech Republic.
It is stunning gothic cathedral as a central point of the main square. You should not and can not miss to visit it. It is even more beautiful inside then outside. Church tower is 103 meters high, making it the tallest one in Czech Republic. We did not manage to experience the view from the tower as we visited pretty late in the day so it was closed. Definitely recommend to stoo by.

Stumbled into this church while visiting Plzen town square and it was quite beautiful. Church is free but tower is 110CZ pp. Didn’t make it up to the tower this time but I imagine the view of square will be best from there! Chanced upon a choir performance during my visit!

We visited this church this past weekend while visiting the Pilsen Christmas Markets. A beautiful cathedral in the center of the Pilsen Square. Recently renovated over the past few years. We did not go up to the bell tower, but the views from the top must be amazing.

The St. Bartholomew's Cathedral in Pilsen is a Gothic cathedral from the late 13th century, adorned with Renaissance paintings and boasting the tallest church tower in the Czech Republic. It is centrally located on the main square and is beautiful both on the outside and inside. (Translated by Google) This over 400-year-old unique building has a beautiful Gothic portal. It was built in 1541 and was used until 1889, when a municipal water supply network was established in Pilzno. Until then, it powered four fountains in the corners of the square. The water tower operated on the principle of continuous vessels. The tower formed a continuous vessel with a fountain and a spring on the hill, which forced water into the fountains, often from quite a distance. The underground part of the building is currently part of an underground tourist route. The above-ground part serves as a multifunctional space with a contemporary art gallery and a museum dedicated to an important Pilsen family - Škoda. Do tego czasu zasilano z niego cztery fontanny w rogach placu. Wieża ciśnień działała na zasadzie naczyń ciągłych. Wieża tworzyła ciągłe naczynie z fontanną i źródłem na wzgórzu, dzięki czemu wtłaczała wodę do fontann, często z dość dużej odległości. Rabí Castle

Ancient Ruins
Hilltop, fortified castle complex ruins, dating from the 14th century, destroyed by fire in 1720.
The castle is in good conditions, everything is clean and the staff is friendly. Also, they have special rates for kids, adults and seniors. If you need English translate, they provide you a guide where you can read all about history. There is a small beverage corner if you need to refresh. For people that enjoy archery….50czk to try it! Amazing place!!!
Beatriz L — Google review
We skipped the tour with regrets. The tour is 50 min and you get a lot more access to explore the ruins. If you have the time spend the little extra and fully enjoy this incredible site.
Matthew J — Google review
This castle ruin is easily accessible from the center of the town Rabí. The parking now costs 100 Kč per car, guided tour 160 Kč per person, discounted 130 Kč. We chose limited unguided walk for 50 Kč as we were pressed for time. The short access directly to the ticket booth and castle gate is extremely uneven and steep, full of jutting stones and slippery on a rainy day when we were there. Once you get in, the walking gets much easier, as there are more level dirt paths and maintained grass areas. Inside the restored horse stable was a nice photo exhibition of Šumava localities. When you are done here, consider a stop at the well known restaurant in the town square.

Tracey S — Google review
You only get to see the views if you pay for the full guided tour. The rest is not very interesting
Itai L — Google review
The largest castle ruin complex in Czechia. To see more than the first courtyard, you need to pay quite a steep entry fee of 150 CZK/person, which also includes a 40 minute long tour guide in Czech. The tour starts at the precise time, no matter what the weather conditions, which can be harsh if it's windy or rainy (remember, it's a ruin). Our guide was a bit rough around the edges and sometimes shouted at the kids or adults in the group to stay quiet, but I personally enjoyed his no BS character. Overall interesting, but I couldn't find the price justifiable, because the complex gets enough visitors and doesn't aim to restore the castle into its full original state.
Joe L — Google review
Castle ruins in a beautiful state with a great location above the city. Well seen from around the city as well as great views from the castle over the surrounding area. Only the inner court and the old stables can be visited without a tour. Various tours are offered (here even in English) to see all of the remaining buildings of the castle you need to book various tours. Due to time limitations we only could take the palace tour. Would definitely visit again to explore the rest of the site.

Impressive looking chateau from the outside, the central part now a hotel. Guided tours only of the chateau & old chateau (220kc/190kc) so nothing to see inside unless you take the tour. Gardens quite small & limited to the immediate area of old chateau (the hotel area is off limits). VERY narrow stone gate posts at main entrance only wide enough for a car. Anything large go to back entrance past police buildings, parking in front of house
Gill C — Google review
Impressive chateau and hotel. You can walk around the outside and grounds for free, or take the guided tours with two options. We walked outside, very helpful staff took our photos very well. Steep paths and deep valley at the rear. Large main car park. There are two entrances from the road, one is only just wide enough for a car and great care is needed to avoid the pillars, our motorhome is 2.35m wide and wouldn’t pass through on the way out so we had to turn around. If it had been a busy day that would have caused chaos.
Alan ( — Google review
My husband and I spent nearly 2 weeks in the Czech Republic and Chateau Zbiroh was our favorite hotel. We have told several friends and family that they MUST include a stay at Chateau Zbiroh when they travel to the Czech Republic. We loved getting outside of the bigger cities and enjoying the serenity of the woods. We booked the Zámecké pokoje deluxe podkrovní Castle Rooms deluxe attic Breakfast & Dinner package. It included breakfast and dinner daily, an indoor tour of the chateau, and two 1-hour spa visits. We also opted to do the outdoor tour of the medieval part of the hotel. The lady who checked us in was so pleasant and friendly. The process was easy and seamless. The room was spacious. Windows could be open to let in fresh air. We had an AC unit but did not try it. There wasn't a shower, just a tub with a shower head and extendable hose (typical for Europe). The furniture was well-made and appropriate for a castle without feeling antiquated. There was a small mini-bar and fridge. No coffee maker, tea kettle, or ironing. Robes and slippers were provided. Free parking. For guests, parking was just outside the reception area. Our meals at Chateau Zbiroh were BY FAR THE BEST meals we ate during our nearly three week trip. I am salivating just thinking about the apple strudel and chocolate cake. At dinner our package enabled us to choose two dishes, any combo, for free. Drinks were extra. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful. From pastries to cold cuts to eggs and bacon - there was plenty to choose from. Do yourself a favor -- if you don't buy the dinner package --- make sure you eat at the restaurant at least once. It is divine. The waitresses were very friendly and the customer service was top notch. The spa was a unique experience. My husband wasn't too excited about it but it was just us and situated in a really unique location. You can also order massage services (we didn't). The chateau tours were conducted in Czech but had English audio guides. The indoor tour was at 10:00 am. The Czech tour guide was excellent and we could tell she was giving a lot more information than on our audioguide. So that could probably be improved. The audio guide for the outdoor castle tour was excellent! I believe it was relatively new but it had a plethora of information and we didn't feel like we were missing out at all. We used our own cell phones (so make sure to have your own headphones). It worked off the castle wifi as I didn't have cell service abroad. The outdoor tour is seasonal and was at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. There are several walking paths through the woods around the castle. We loved taking morning and evening strolls. It felt like we were in a fairy tale.

Zbiroh Castle is a true gem of Central Bohemia. Entry to the grounds is paid: visitors are charged 30 CZK for access to the garden. Photography inside the castle is prohibited, so it's best to enjoy the atmosphere in person — the largest privately owned chateau in the Czech Republic has over 200 rooms, a deep well (163 m!), and the oldest tower in Bohemia. The grounds include a hotel, a medieval-style restaurant, and souvenir shops. Especially impressive are exhibitions linked to Alfons Mucha and the Templars. It’s a place where history, legend, and comfort meet. Even without photos, you can feel the powerful energy of this fortress of three emperors.

Just one hour away Prague Just a little over an hour from Prague, easily reachable by car or train, you’ll find a beautiful castle and park perfect for the whole family. Blatná Castle is one of the best-preserved water castles in the Czech Republic, once owned by the noble Rožmitál and Hildprandt families. Surrounded by a 42-hectare park with freely roaming deer and peacocks, it’s a charming year-round destination, and with a cozy café right at the castle (and several nearby), it’s definitely worth a stop.

Nice place for a weekend entertainment. Medieval castle and a big forest/park with many deers, alpacas and peacocks. Previously, it was possible to feed the deers and they were walking on the yard closer to the castle, but now they are located mainly in the forest and not coming close to the people.

Truly incredible and beautiful castle which is within an hour from Prague without the traffic. We had amazing time a day trip. In the castle you have options depending on your interest and time availability. We took 100 minutes which was in czech language the tour included the whole castle. There is the shorter version too I think 45 minutes. Our tour guide Libor was full of interesting stories, facts and pure history. It was very informative and educating and many things to see inside the castle. Totally worth it and the time passed quickly. Many thanks to him. The castle has few options: shops with wooden decorations, gingerbread, souvenirs, cafe shop and restaurant. The best part was that it was not busy at all, very relaxing atmosphere. Attaching photos and videos from my personal experience. Enjoy 😊

When you arrive at the location you are required to take a guide. Everything would be fine, except the guide only speaks the local language, Czech, so you don’t understand anything at all and they refuse to speak English. As if that weren’t enough, you are forced to follow them, you cannot visit on your own. The castle is empty, it has no furniture at all, just empty halls. All in all, DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE – the staff are hostile and the location has nothing worthwhile to see.

This is a very old castle, very well preserved. Off course because of the fires it was rebuilt multiple times. You can enter and have a Czech visit. Or you can scan a qr-code and download a pdf with translation. But the translation does not have so much details like the guide gives I recommend to visit and hike in the area around.

I really liked the castle and surrounding area. The tour inside the castle is guided only, which I'm not a fan of but I was told our guide was very good and made some nice jokes too. (I don't speak Czech, but of course information sheets are given out in other languages that explain the rooms, you just miss out on the jokes). No photos allowed inside the castle, but there are beautifully styled rooms, large collection of shotguns and deer antlers. Even one that was shot by Franz Ferdinand!

Karlštejn Castle, founded in 1348 by Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor-elect and the King of Bohemia, is a stunning Gothic castle located in Central Bohemia. It holds great historical significance as it houses the Imperial Regalia, Bohemian/Czech crown jewels, relics, and other important items. The castle has undergone various reconstructions and architectural style changes over the centuries.
Love this castle! Went with some family friends when visiting the Czech Republic to visit family. I’ve been in the past as a little kid also and I always love it. It’s beautiful and so fun to explore, really takes you back in time. I recommend if you’re visiting the Czech Republic or a resident! There are also nice walks nearby which I do recommend.

A really beautiful and lovely medieval castle with a rich history. It is quite a walk uphill from the train station or the car park, but it is definitely worth it: the castle is just amazing. You can visit the courtyard for free, but you can enter the castle only with the guided tour. I recommend to buy the tickets in advance, as it is likely they will sell out at least in peak season.

Tour of CZK300 per person for Charles IV apartment, went on November weekend but wasn’t too crowded (was able to get tickets upon arrival for a tour starting in 10 min). Note chapel is closed in winter and that’s the main attraction here. The tour wasn’t very informative about the history and felt a little rushed - would be okay to skip. The view of castle is very nice on the walk up from village and castle grounds are quite nice too (even the free accessible parts). Took about 45 min-1 hour each way from Prague + 30 min walking between village and castle.

The train station is just a 7 minute walk from the beautiful high street of the tiny town, with many f&b option. The street then leads to the steep incline to the castle, and it’s a 10 minute walk - lots of children make it up as well - so shouldn’t be an issue. The views from the castle are brilliant. There is a short 5 minute video with English subtitles being played in a small room below the visitor center and it is interesting. Recommended…!

First time doing a level 3 tour (small group of 6, all family members) that allowed us to see the castle in its entirety and on much more personal level. It was about 3 hours long. We had tickets bought in advance, online, no wait to get in.

I loved Karlštejn. The castle has an amazing history. Yours are both in English and in Czech. All the staff at the castle was super friendly and we even made friends with the local blacksmith. We had a really lovely time and highly recommend the castle as just outside of Prague adventure.

There is designated paid parking and transport at a cost up to the castle. Although steep at times you can walk through the town and shops up to the castle, we drove up and walked down. There are various guided tours with different sections of the castle. Book in advance to plan your trip if you want to do more than one tour. More shops operate during peak season in summer. A few shops where open, October. Would recommend the Snack Place for something to eat and drink, with a view of the castle and the Antique shop. We did the basic tour.

One of the national treasures of the Czech Republic this iconic castle is definitely worth a visit. The castle founded around 1347 is set in the picturesque scenery of mountains and the Berounka river and it is linked with the emperor Charles IV. There are several visiting tours to choose from. The tickets can be bought online. If you have the possibility, make sure to choose the tour including the castle's chapels. The breathtaking gilded interior of the St. Cross Chapel is absolutely amazing.

Lidice Memorial

The Lidice Memorial, located just a short bus ride from downtown Prague, is a poignant tribute to the village of Lidice, which was decimated by Nazi soldiers in 1942. The memorial includes a museum that provides insightful and powerful information about the tragic events. Visitors can also stroll through peaceful rose gardens and view touching bronze statues honoring the innocent victims. Many find the experience deeply moving and feel a strong connection to the village that once stood there.
A very strong reminder of the doings of the germans due world war || Not for the faint hearted, but a visit you will never forget... You will, if you are normal, get a lumb in your throat and tears in your eyes.... This is the proof of the most evil animal on the planet.......the human being......period....

A beautiful memorial site to remember the victims of the tragic event that occurred here on 10 June 1942. We all have a responsibility to ensure events like this never occur ever. I recommend visiting this memorial.

Having both Czech and German ancestors it is unbelievable to me how cruel people can be, being so similar to each other. This is one of those important places everybody should visit from time to time to never forget what can happen if we fall for political parties that make us believe some human beings are less important than others.

Such a beautifully maintained and respectful memorial to the events here in June 1942. We visitedvtge memorial exhibition at the side before and after walking around the site and this was a good idea as it gave us an insight before and then clarification after. A special thank you to Jan for taking the time to answer our questions so thoroughly and educate us further - so dedicated to his role and he really made us feel like very special guests. His passion reinforces everything that us good about visiting the darker places of history. Thank you Jan! The children's memorial is the most poignant and powerful I think I have ever seen.

If you love Prague, you should visit the Lidice Memorial, at least once in your life. It’s the tragic history of revenge, of the Nazi’s, after the assassination of Heidrich, in Prague. The Nazi’s decided to completely erase the village of the two brave Czech troupers. Men were killed, women deported, and the children were first deported and then killed. And the then the village was erased, asif it never had existed.

A beautiful memorial. Its a lovely tranquil place and the silence and what appears absence of the wildlife here, enhances the emotions that are felt. My son left a teddy at the child's memorial, and there are candles and lanterns. We didn't visit the museums but walked the friendship and peace gardens and through to the children of war memorial. Dogs are welcome kept on a lead and there are plenty of bins but bring bags to keep the place clean.

A very sad place. I have been here many times to pay respect. Lidice was destroyed by the Nazi’s during WWII after Reinhard Heydrich was killed (died from his wounds related to assassination attempt on his life in Prague). The Children of Lidice statue and memorial is one of the most powerful and sad statues in the world that I have come across. To think humans can kill children is just beyond words.

Intense experience but absolutely worthwhile to make a visit. The memorial does honor to the horror that occurred here. The memorial is peaceful and expansive due to the large open space and walking trail that leads you through the grounds. Be prepared for some emotions.

The first impression of any business are its employees. Not all of us speak Czech, so we asked the host to tell us the rules in English and her answer was just NO. I would maybe understand if she said I am sorry I don't speak English or tried to find help or use google translate or anything really, but her answer was just plane NO. Fortunately we had people in our team who understood some Czech. Just wondering what would happened if we didn't have a native speaker in our team. She was so eager to tell the rules as fast as possible and to go back to her post. As for the games we spent around 4 hours playing and still it wasn't enough to finish everything. There were so many games, some of them very physical and not so easy, so you would need more then few atempts

Took a group of 40 students here. The staff just didn't seem to care, they gave us written instructions and walked away. The lunch selections were poor, and they expected the students to serve themselves, not very realistic! Teachers ended up serving the food. There was never any communication from the staff to the students about who had won, or any follow up to the game itself. Long way to go for nothing too interesting

Great experience, everything in the park was in English, the rooms varied so it was never boring. It gave us a lot of adrenaline, I recommend this adventure

Great experience, many challenging rooms, and each requiring little different set of skills. We had a lot of fun during competing the other teams. It was worth the travel to the quite detached location. Only issue was that we didn't fully understood the rules before the game and had to repeat the first room several times before understanding how to correctly initiate the game and how to finish. So learn all before not to loose time as the game is paid by play time. Recommended.

Perfect for fun activities but needs to improve on the accommodation side. Overall a quite nice experience for us, over 1 night stay.
