Had an amazing experience today! The instructions were clear, and the safety briefings laid out exactly what to expect, answering all our questions. Every member of staff was approachable, friendly, and really helpful. Even though low cloud cover delayed our jumps until the afternoon, the day still flowed smoothly. I had Gary as my tandem instructor, and he was fantastic. He kept me chatting on the way up, which really helped calm my nerves, and made sure I felt confident about the instructions for a safe jump. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would absolutely recommend it to anyone thinking about giving it a go!

We had a lovely day out to this place a few weekends ago. The weather made the day more enjoyable. I’d say it’s definitely worth spending the day here if you go. There is plenty of to see here including all farm type animals you’d expect, you get to pet and feed the lambs, baby chicks and bunnies. The owner was extremely friendly and being a dad I like most of the other people there enjoyed his dad jokes throughout the day, including him walking a group of us round the pigs, turkeys, ducks and chickens, very informative and funny. I would also recommend the yoghurt lollies on the way out from the gift shop. All the staff were very friendly and helpful too. Also there is a very nice picnic lunch area by the car park too.

Lovely place for a family day out. Cafe could work for longer hours, but overall is good place to visit. Has lake, multiple playgrounds and fields to run around or to have a summer party.

We had good seats over looking track, service was decent, young staff but who wants to work weekend evenings eh... Didn't have to leave booth, food & drink service was to table & could also place bets at table. Made for a nice relaxed evening & could enjoy the racing!

A beautiful piece of magnificent history right in the centre of town. So many stories to discover and amazing architecture to admire. Well worth a visit and if you're lucky, you might hear the choir practising, or the organist playing a tune!

We love botanical gardens when we travel. This is my highest recommendation for a visit. The atmosphere and garden itself is emasculate, beautiful and pristine. One of the best £8 you could spend for a day or even hour stop. Nice staff, good food, well maintained. Would definitely go back, you can get lost in the vast beauty of each section for hours!

Visiting the Museum right as it opened was a fantastic idea. We had many of the galleries to ourselves, which made the experience even more special. The collection is incredibly diverse, spanning from ancient Egyptian artifacts to masterpieces by famous painters. The building itself is a work of art, and it's a great place to spend a few hours exploring history and culture. Best of all, it's free to enter!

VISIT DATE: SAT 16/08/2025 VISIT TIME: 13:45 - 18:00 Visited with my 6 year old daughter and my Mum, but didn’t arrive till the afternoon, which was a shame as there is so much to see. I have been to Audley End in the past, but it has been a long time, so I couldn’t remember much of the site. The house itself is lovely, full of wonderful paintings and objects of interest, through less so foot a 6-year old, with the exception of the nursery which features clothes to dress up in and toys and games that would have been played by the children of the house. My daughter was disappointed to find she is too big to ride the rocking horse, but she enjoyed stroking its mane. Outside there is a beautiful parterre garden and lovely grounds to explore, featuring lots of accessible paths, with tree lined sections and hidden gems around the lake. There is a service wing next to the main house, which has a lovely cafe for visitors (and toilets, including accessible ones), as well as the main shop and visitor centre. A short walk away you will find the stable block, which has interesting exhibitions to look at, as well as the children’s shop (where you can collect your English Heritage pop badge), then you can walk through the kitchen gardens, which were full of flowers, fruit and vegetables at the time of our visit, making it an absolute delight to see. You can also then go to the court yard play area, where there is another, smaller cafe and more toilets. There are generally activities for children to take part in on the lawn, but as we visited during the summer holidays we were also able to take part in the Taskmaster games which were being held at a number of EH sites during the summer of 2025. This provided an extra level of fun. Overall, Audley End House and Gardens is a fantastic place to visit, especially in the summer. There were a good number of visitors, but it never felt crowded and we were able toto move around the house and grounds at our leisure. I would definitely recommend visiting and suggest you get there earlier to really make the most of your visit. Free entry for EH members, £22 for adults.

Fantastic place to visit, plenty to see and discover. Some amazing exhibits, the American Museum was particularly impressive. If you’re lucky then you might get to see something old get airborne. I was fortunate to visit the day after a big Airshow so there were a few visiting aircraft still there. £30 sounds a lot but you can easily spend a whole day here so really it’s great value for money. Food not cheap but it never is at places like this, though plenty of outdoors seating if you bring your own.

I absolutely love visiting this place time and again. It's small yet beautiful & peaceful place to be around with a loved ones. A long river walk in the morning, hiring boat, canoeing then going around the cannal, enjoying Coffee and cakes at the tea house and the children loved to swim around the pond. I highly recommend this beautiful place to visit once in your lifetime.

It's a great little line,what I like is the enthusiasm that the place gives off,services are ran by diesel and steam and its just a nice trip down memory lane.who doesn't want to ride in a slam door carriage and feel the spring in a 70's coach seat..excellent, you can taste the age that the trains come from in the sights and smells..Also riding the vintage buses between epping,North weald and Ongar is a special treat to.long may these experiences continue. And of course lovely countryside of Essex.

I found the visit to be immensely enjoyable. The price of admission was reasonable, although I would recommend taking some cash as there are drinks in certain places that you can buy. If you are interested in photography, be aware that there is a waiver to sign and a £5 charge. I am OK with this, especially as I am not a commercial photographer, but do note it. The audio wands are helpful and informative and there is a wealth of useful information provided. I took a good few hours going through and I would not mind coming again.

We visited Old MacDonald’s Farm with our two children (aged 4 and 2), and it was such a fantastic day out! The last time we came was just before my son turned one, and he was a little too young to appreciate the full experience, so I can honestly say the experience this time was so much better. Both kids absolutely loved the rides – which I think is one of the best things about this farm. You don’t just get to see and interact with the animals (which they also enjoyed), but there are so many rides (some of which are even suitable for babies) and outdoor play areas that kept them fully engaged. It really does offer something for everyone. There were plenty of opportunities to meet the animals (we did the rabbit encounter), and we were lucky to catch the summer circus too – my children really enjoyed that. The staff stood out as well; everyone we met was so kind and friendly, which made the experience even nicer. On top of that, there are indoor soft play areas for rainy days, but we had sunny, warm weather so the kids made the most of the outdoor climbing frames and slides. We visited from 10am until 3pm, but honestly, you could easily spend the whole day here until closing. My tip would be to arrive early: start with the animals and then move on to the rides once they open at 11am. A brilliant family day out – we’ll definitely be back!

As a distant relative of the Jordan family (great grand mother Marion Dorothy Jordan) this was the first time I had the chance to visit Holme Mill. We arrived early and booked a tour which left us enough time to sit in the sun next the millpond and have some breakfast, which was delicious. The tour was really informative and allowed me to see pictures and learn more about my ancestors as well as the incredible feat of engineering that the mill is. The tour guide was really knowledgable and all the staff from the cafe to the shop were lovely friendly people.

Second time visiting the spa. First time was 12 years ago and would definitely return. The place is very clean and well looked after. Love the pool (even though it was a bit cooler than expected) such a nice atmosphere here. Had a lovely himalayan hot stone massage and facial. The heated beds to sit on beforehand were a lovely touch. Parking is fine, staff great. Recommend getting the gown and towel package, definitely made the difference.

Another great day out, there was plenty to see and do. All the animals looked well cared for and fed. It was amazing how close you felt you were to some of animals. Including the lions and the sun bear. The glass so clean it was like it wasn't there. The shops were responsibly priced and depending on your budget they had plenty to choose from. The food was nice and was a generous portion. Overall we had an amazing day would I would happily return.

One of the most beautiful houses we have ever visited. The trip here was made so much more special by Dermot. A huge thank you for making us feel so welcome Dermot. We felt like we got the VIP treatment, you are a wonderful asset to such a magnificent house, it was a pleasure to meet you. The staff make this place. They are incredibly kind and have a wealth of knowledge. It was not busy at all when we visited which added to the charm. It’s also impeccably kept. We did the wood walk after we visited the house which I would also recommend. I was so impressed I’ll be telling everyone to visit.

Amazing! This was one of my favorite tours while in london. We bought our tickets which cost about $48. Place was packed. There is a cafe and a small gift shop inside, bathrooms of course. I would plan on spending at least 2 hours here if not 3. And then of course there's the crown jewels that speak for themselves. So much history here and so much to see I loved everything about this!

Tower Bridge is absolutely stunning! One of the best spots to visit in London — the views of the River Thames are amazing. The exhibition is interesting and gives a good idea of how the bridge works. Everything was clean and well-managed. Definitely a must-visit when you’re in London!

Absolutely wonderful place to visit. We only had very limited time in London but this was somewhere we wanted to visit as we wanted to keep our costs low. The museum is free to enter but donations are welcomed. Firstly, the place is enormous. Various exhibitions are available with literally hundreds of things to look at, probably even thousands. It goes without saying that the place is very popular and often very busy so if you don't like crowds, do some research about your visit before you go. We spent a lot of time looking at the Egyptian exhibitions as my wife is very interested in that particular part of history but we did also wander around the Greek, Roman and middle Eastern parts as well. Both of us agreed that we would come back to visit but would definitely spend a whole day there as we felt rushed. There are places to grab a drink and a snack inside the museum as well, which is very welcome. It is worth noting that while backpacks are allowed, luggage is not. The shops nearby do offer a luggage storage solution.

The London Eye is one of those iconic experiences that truly lives up to its reputation. A beautiful and inspiring place. The collection is world-class — from Renaissance masters to Impressionists — and it’s amazing that entry is free. The galleries are spacious and well organized, with helpful information about each painting. I also appreciated the quiet spots where you can just sit and enjoy the art. It can get busy in popular rooms, but overall it’s an unforgettable visit for any art lover.

Big Ben Tour – Inside the Elizabeth Tower Visiting the Elizabeth Tower might just be one of the best things you can do in London. Getting tickets, however, is the real challenge — plan ahead and try to book about six months in advance, checking the website regularly. No photos are allowed inside, which is a bit of a shame, but completely understandable. The climb is 334 steps up a narrow spiral staircase with just a simple metal railing, so this is not an experience for those with mobility issues or severe fear of heights. The first stretch is about 110 steps, with the rest broken into slightly shorter climbs and two rest stops along the way. Windows are few and far between, so you won’t have many chances to look outside during the climb. At the top, you’ll visit the belfry and see the Great Bell — Big Ben itself — up close. You’ll be there as the clock strikes the hour, with protective ear coverings provided to save your hearing from the thunderous chimes. You’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at the clock mechanism and stand behind the famous clock faces before beginning the descent, which is once again split into sections with rest stops. Lockers are provided for your belongings, as nothing may be carried with you, and open-toed shoes are not allowed. The guides are fantastic — full of history, fun facts, and fascinating details about the tower and its clock. I have such fond memories of the Natural History Museum from school trips and visits over the years. I’ve been several times as an adult too, with friends, family, and visitors to London, it’s always a wonderful experience. The main attraction is, of course, the incredible dinosaur displays, which never fail to impress. There’s so much to see and do, from fascinating exhibits to a beautiful garden outside that’s well worth exploring. Entry is free, and there are plenty of cafés and places to eat and drink inside. I’d definitely say this is a must visit for anyone coming to London, especially if you have children who love dinosaurs, it’s truly amazing.
