It's amazing!!! Pay a visit, totally worth it, such a big surprise to see that high level museum in such small town. 5 stars!

Kamennaya Lestnitsa

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Kamennaya Lestnitsa, a famous historical staircase, is an iconic monument with great historical significance. This renowned architectural marvel has stood the test of time and witnessed numerous significant events throughout history. Constructed using durable materials, this ancient stairway displays exceptional craftsmanship and intricate design details. As a well-preserved landmark, it symbolizes the rich cultural heritage of its era and serves as a testament to the advanced engineering techniques employed during its construction.
The Depaldo Stone Steps was constructed in 1823 by the project of the Italian architect Francesco Boffo with the money of Taganrog's Greek merchant Gerasim Depaldo at the crossroads of Greek Street (near Tchaikovsky House in Taganrog) and Depaldo Street (now Turgenevskaya Street) in Taganrog. The stairway begins up on the hill in downtown and goes down ending near Azov seashore (Pushkin Embankment). In Imperial Russia it was the famous stairs in South Russia, similar to the Potemkin Stairs in Odessa. In World War II, the Old Stone Steps were heavily damaged, but stayed one of the major tourist attractions of Taganrog. In the 1970s it was reconstructed, but not finished. The new major reconstruction was made in 2005. During the latest reconstruction all the old stone steps were replaced by new stones.

(Translated by Google) 🎭 I visited Taganrog for a concert and couldn't resist climbing the legendary Stone Stairs! This truly impressive place—189 steps, built back in 1823 with funds from the merchant Depaldo. The architect came up with a clever trick: when viewed from top to bottom, the stairs appear uniform in width, but narrow toward the top. The same technique was later used in the construction of the Potemkin Stairs in Odessa! At the top is the first sundial in southern Russia, and on the sides are atmospheric photo spots. The descent is easy, but the ascent is a real adventure! 🧗‍♂️ By the way, even military events took place here—during the Crimean War, the Cossacks repelled an English attack! Your blind guide to Taganrog and beyond, popular singer Viktor Tartanov 🎤 (Original) 🎭 Посетил Таганрог с концертом и не мог не подняться по легендарной Каменной лестнице!

We were very pleased. Special thanks to the museum curator for the beautiful indoor plants on the windows. They create a pleasant atmosphere of homeliness, so one gets the impression that the Chekhov family was simply away on business and they will soon return to their cozy, cute house and continue to do their daily business. The museum grounds are very clean and well maintained. I recommend this museum for visiting by residents and guests of the city. (Translated by Google) The seaside embankment of the city of Yeysk looks like a paved path with a twisted forged fence decorated with a large pearl. There is a descent to the beach that even makes you want to go down. Not a scoop like in the parks. The view is peaceful if the weather is good. The Sea of Azov is always muddy. Overview of sandy and stone beaches and the surroundings of the port (where would we be without this). The sea looks shallow.. I would not swim, but would only breathe the breeze, which is useful for people from large cities. We wanted to live here, but after walking for a couple of hours, we realized that this was not an option. We bought some mud to take with us and moved on. It is good for a person to recover in a mud bath and be in a calm place. But not for long, because Yeisk, in my opinion, is more suitable for a quiet old age in retirement and later death than for an active, productive youth. Everything is good in moderation.

I walked around the stadium grounds 10 times. The grounds are huge and very beautiful, you can walk around it for half a day, everything is well maintained. The Taras Shevchenko Monument is a prominent feature in the heart of the city, located within a serene park. The monument was unveiled in 1959, coinciding with the renaming of Potemkin Garden to Park named after Comrade Shevchenko. This 20-meter tall structure, weighing 55 tons, stands as a tribute to the renowned poet and artist.
Nice place to visit. Although, some investment should be done around.

This is his highlight and, in fact, Taras Grigorievich Shevchenko himself. (Translated by Google) The monument to Shevchenko on the highest point of Monastyrmsky Island was opened on November 5, 1959. The statue was designed by sculptors - father and son Znoby. And the massive pedestal was designed by architect Leonid Vetvitsky. The monument is made of cast iron, installed on a granite pedestal. The height of the monumental figure of the poet is 9.5 m, the height of the pedestal is 10.5 m, the weight of the cast iron sculpture is 55 tons. In 2011-2014, the monument on the island underwent a major reconstruction. In the summer of 2011, the statue was dismantled, sawn into parts and sent for restoration. The pedestal was completely dismantled after it. In fact, we can talk about the erection of a new monument modeled on the old one. In 2012, the pedestal was restored in its former place. The work on installing the statue on the pedestal was generally completed on June 17, 2013. Interestingly, this time the fragments of the statue were transported not by rail, but by water, and they were mounted on site. In March 2014, for Shevchenko's birthday, the monument was presented in a completely updated form. The square and alleys near the monument were re-arranged, and several decorative lanterns from the 1950s were restored.

I was here once, and it’ll be my last time! Service here is awful, especially if you came as legal entity! Somehow price is changing to bigger side 2-3 times a week, also you would need talk with 4-5 managers which don’t talk with each other. If you really like to solve troubles, please enjoy, but if you want just have hotel with at least clear understanding of prices please choose different place.

A very neat and comfortable hotel in the center of Dnipro. The entire complex, which not only houses the hotel, is excellently maintained and serviced. Unfortunately has the hotel management decided to close the restaurant for breakfast if not enough guest are staying (mostly on weekends). First day I stoud infront of a closed restaurant door and was informed by the security that I could pick up a breakfast bag from the reception. Quite unusual for a hotel of that class I thought, but the breakfast items provided in the bag were quite good and more than enough. Unfortunately no coffee was availabe and the reception recommended to go outside 😯 For next day (Sunday) a breakfast preorder for the "Hummus Bar" was taken by the receptionist. The breakfast itself was amazing, but a second coffee had to be paid!? This approach is not particularly customer-oriented and casts a very bad image on an otherwise good hotel... 😪

Svyato-Troyitsʹkyy Kafedralʹnyy Sobor

Orthodox church
Sights & Landmarks
Svyato-Troyitsʹkyy Kafedralʹnyy Sobor, also known as the Holy Trinity Cathedral, is a historic church located in the heart of Dnipro. It stands as one of the oldest churches in the city and has a rich history of continuous service, unlike some other religious buildings that were repurposed during the post-war USSR era.
(Translated by Google) One of the symbols of the city. The temple was built in the heart of the Dnipro in the middle of the 19th century. I love this place, but there are a huge number of vagabonds and beggars here, just like most cathedrals and churches. Inside, there is a beautiful decoration that has been preserved since the time of the construction of the shrine (Original)
Denys G — Google review
(Translated by Google) This temple is truly unique, one of the oldest churches in Yekaterinoslav (Dnieper), which did not stop its service during the years of the post-war USSR (unlike the Transfiguration Cathedral of the Dnieper, in the building of which during the USSR there was a “Museum of Religion and Atheism” with a “Foucault Pendulum” suspended under the main dome). The Holy Trinity Cathedral was built on the site of the first city church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The small wooden church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was consecrated on January 15, 1791. After 40 years, the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God fell into disrepair. In 1837, the site for a new temple was consecrated. In 1934, Trinity Church was closed. They threw down the bells and tore down the crosses. Numerous shops, workshops, and warehouses were located within the temple fence. The church itself was divided into two floors and converted into a warehouse. Temperature changes, dirt, and mismanagement caused irreparable damage to the interior decoration of the cathedral and, most of all, to its paintings. The Holy Trinity Church came to life during the German occupation. In November 1941, services were resumed in the temple, which never stopped. In the 1950s, large restoration work began inside the Holy Trinity Cathedral: the surviving Izhakevich paintings were restored: “Joseph’s Flight into Egypt,” icons of the apostles, cherubs in the vaults of small domes, and ornaments. The dead were replaced with new frescoes, of which the most impressive is the Annunciation on the altar pylons. A new iconostasis was created, a new porch porch was built, a balcony was made for the upper bishop's choir instead of the warehouse gate, and much, much more was done. The cathedral contains shrines: icon of the Holy Trinity with a piece of Mamre oak; icon “The Weeping Savior”; icons: Mother of God “Iverskaya”, "Kazanskaya" "It's worthy to eat" "Samara"; two reliquary crosses with particles of the relics of saints revered in Orthodoxy. The modern Holy Trinity Cathedral of Dnepropetrovsk is a monument of history and architecture. 2010 marked the 165th anniversary of its consecration. Having prayed in this temple, you truly feel God’s grace, since the place has been prayed for by generations, and the entire interior of the temple emanates history...

(Translated by Google) Architectural grandeur is difficult to assess. From the outside, the building is large, but does not attract attention. Domes are in general bad taste and spoil the view of the city. There is poor lighting inside, so you can't see anything, unfortunately. It looks like the glass in the windows is not transparent. Right at the entrance, we were approached to sign that we were against the transition of the church from the UOC-MP to the OCU. And we don't mind! Although we are not believers at all and came purely as a sight to appreciate.

(Translated by Google) Architecturally, the facade of the museum is not a historical asset. Next to the museum is a monument to the Myrhorod Cossack. . Prices for April 2024 10 hryvnias. Both funny and sad. And the exposition is interesting!!! 2 floors. Finds from the times of Kyivan Rus to the present day. Historical eras in finds, paintings, household items. There is quite a lot of porcelain and ceramics, which is a peculiar highlight of the museum. A separate hall is dedicated to the ethnography of the Poltava region. There is also an exposition dedicated to the founder of the museum in Myrhorod - Opanas Slastion. On the 2nd floor there are also 2 halls of temporary exhibitions of local artists. At the entrance, the gallery is dedicated to the heroes of the anti-terrorist operation.

(Translated by Google) An ordinary local history museum. I was surprised that I had to pay 5 hryvnias separately for the photo shoot when the price of the entrance ticket was 10 hryvnias. 🤔 On the second floor, there is a room dedicated to Opanas Slastion, in whose honor the museum is named. But there are not enough materials for it... However, there is a wonderful model of a water hospital, which in reality no longer exists 😢 (Original)

(Translated by Google) I liked the museum. Although small, it is informative. You were lucky to get on the excursion, the excursion is more fun. I especially remember the Venetian glass mirror. And the greatest impression was made by ceramic products; that was the first time I saw Mirgorod ceramics. Extraordinary beauty. To enjoy this beauty even more, I tried to go on an excursion to the Mirgorod Art and Industry College, where the original products of graduates - masters of pottery, ceramic, and majolica products are stored.

Kachanivka

Castle
Nature & Parks
Kachanivka is a stunning neo-classical palace nestled in the eastern part of Ukraine, surrounded by an expansive 500-hectare park filled with diverse tree species and serene lakes. Once a retreat for the artistic elite of the 19th century, including renowned figures like Taras Shevchenko and Mikhail Glinka, this historical gem offers visitors a glimpse into its rich past.
Very interesting historical place. The beautiful park takes 500 hectares around the palace. You can come to hike, to bike or just to take a guided tour to the palace.
Roksolana G — Google review
It is certainly a place to visit in the Eastern part of Ukraine. The mansion of sugar kings of the Russian Empire Ternovsky and Kharitonenko had been a local nest for Ukrainian and Russian artistic and literature elite of XIX century. Ukrainian literature icon Taras Shevchenko and Russian composer Mikhail Glinka spent their best times here. The Palace is well-looked after but still requires major renovation, the part needs an expert touch too. If the weather is good this place would give you unforgettable memories and joy.

Nice place to walk. The manor is beautiful outside but with poor interior.
Ira P — Google review
What a nice location! It’s territory is nice and clean. Unfortunately building itself could use some maintenance and that’s visible. Palace is surrounded by a beautiful park where you can spend a few hours enjoying fresh air and views. You can get some water and refreshments at a caffe too.
Ivan G — Google review
Perfect and relaxing nature with astonishing views. The history of the place is exciting too. Some attractions for kids are available. The current status of buildings and palaces leaves much to be desired. There is a huge room for improvement. But in general Kachanivka has a huge potential for tourism.
Sergey M — Google review
It's huge and beautiful, while significantly ruined. The park is most awesome, the pond views are splendid, the mansion should be restored to be as great, but the ghost of the past is still there.

Very beautiful and neat place near the bank of the river Dnipro. Lots of greenery, roses, lavender and trees. There’s a fountain in front of The Valley. You can find coffee spots nearby as well as a nice restaurant “Fabrika” to eat. Parking is pretty easy. There’s a playground and a beach with easy access to the water.

Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Compact zoological park including a petting zoo, pond, playground & picnic area.
Very cute, calm, nice place for spending time with children and family. Everywhere is clean, animals are well-groomed. I recommend!
Andrii S — Google review
An okay zoo (as far as zoos go), altough some animals clearly dont have enough space. Little by little, that situation has been improving, and the animals seem to be well fed. Unfortunately, some of them are clearly depressed, if not because of the lack of space, its because of the lack of mates to socialize.
Darya S — Google review
Great zoo! Recommend to visit
Bohdan T — Google review
It has been recently renovated and it looks great. For the visiting it is better to choose morning or evening time when animals are more active, during the midday heat, they are simply hiding and one can not see many species.
Tanya M — Google review
Different species, reasonable price. Very nice place for weekend stroll.
Just_Olek — Google review
While this zoo is really small, it's really good for its size. The animals are in a good condition, they get enough food and look healthy. One of the best places to visit with children in Chercassy.
Iurii M — Google review
I was really surprised and happy about the quality of this zoo. All of the animals appear to receive really good care, you can even see their diet prepared in one of the primate houses. The wolves, bear, and deer exhibits are the highlight of the zoo, with amazing viewing platforms and large enclosures. The eagles could use larger enclosures but overall it was a wonderful experience.

Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin

Churches & Cathedrals
Only a short 30-40min drive from Kyiv, this wonderful trip allows one to truly take in the village setting. This church consists of 2 parts, one downstairs and a more remarkable one upstairs. Does not look like much from the outside but the interior is breathtakingly beautiful.
Abel W — Google review
Just amazing! One would never think to find something like that in a town of 8000 people. The church is huge and amazingly well preserved (or renovated).

Must see en route from Kyiv to Chernihiv. Monumental masterpiece of the Ukrainian Cossack Baroque was built by Kyrylo Rozumovsky, the last Hetman of Ukraine.

Beautiful cathedral near to Kiev. Beautiful and ornate exterior. Unable enter the grounds or the church due to newly imposed Corona Quarantine lockdown. Likely this church deserves a higher star rating when touring in non quarantine times. Hopefully soon.

Kozelets The town's main cathedral and architectural attraction is the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin. The cathedral was built in the mid-18th century in the late Ukrainian Baroque style by architects Ivan Hryhorovych-Barskyi and Andrei Kvasov, according to a project by imperial architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Funds for the construction of the cathedral were provided by Alexey and Kyrylo Rozumovsky (the latter was appointed Hetman in 1750). The Cathedral consists of two tiers. The first one is the Church of Adrian and Natalia – Rozumovsky tomb. The second is the Cathedral. The interior design is represented by carving and gilding. The decoration of the cathedral includes a five-finger iconostasis, carved out of wood by the Italian masters from drawings of the architect Rastrelli. There is an interesting story about how the iconostasis appeared in Kozelets. He was made for the St. Petersburg Smolny Convent. But Rozumovsky brothers, being in Elizabeth’s good graces, have transported the 27 meter high iconostasis to Kozelets. However, the attempt to install it in the cathedral in one piece was not successful. It was decided to send the parts to the church in the native village of Rozumovsky. The iconostasis consisted of 80 icons, 50 of them have remained until now. And divine force invites you to enter the cathedral, to pray, to light a candle and to think about the life.
