Is Arutas beach

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Is Arutas beach, located on the west side of Sardinia, stands out for its exceptional quartz sand that glows in various colors when the sun shines. The multi-colored sand extends for several kilometers and reflects brilliant blues on the water. Accessible through an uninhabited village, this picturesque beach is worth the effort to reach. Its extensive white gravelly sands are made up of tiny grains of different colored quartz, giving it a shimmering quality that cannot be matched.
The water was crystal clear. Perfect for snorkelling and just enjoying the underwater life. Full of 🐠🐟Beautiful quartz covered beach and azure blue sea. It is so serene and peaceful even though it was crowded becauae it was high season💙 There is a parking nearby, restaurants and bars.
Milena K — Google review
Way too crowded (August 2025), steep descent into the sea, not the cleanest one, showers with sea water. Rice sand is just perfect, the best I have ever experienced
Oleksandr T — Google review
Is Arutas Beach is truly unique, with its white quartz sand and crystal-clear waters. Easy access with nearby parking, and the beach is also wheelchair friendly. A rare and exceptional spot to relax, swim, and enjoy unforgettable views.
Nidhal Z — Google review
Arrived early in the morning around 9.30. Payed parking not cheap. 8.50euro for 6 hours or 10 euro for the all day. From the parking there à several paths to walk. The one nicer than the other with a small bridge to pass. Today no beach garde and no marking of the safe swimming area. The beach was today after the big rain and thunder showers à little bit mixed with dry grass. There are a lot of rocks, small and big to take care of. Even for your parasol you have to find the right spot to dig into the risotto liked small stone beach. The sea was calm and enough places to install yourself. Overall an ok beach. Don’t forget to follow the local restrictions of the Sardinia beaches with big fines.
Ronald V — Google review
A white coarse grain quartz “sand” beach. Quite special. The water is very clear and we enjoyed swimming in it. The waves weren’t too big although you get deep very quickly. There are showers to get the salt and the sand off. We came by bike so parking wasn’t a cost or problem. If to go further south along the dirt road then the parking is free.
Simon R — Google review
A stunning beach with crystal-clear water and surreal colors that seem almost unreal. The shoreline is covered with unique quartz "rice-grain" sand that gives the place a magical appearance and feels great underfoot. The sand is made of tiny, polished grains of quartz, giving it a distinctive white, pink, and green appearance. It’s a paradise for nature lovers and perfect for a peaceful day by the sea. *Heads-up:* As the sun begins to set, be prepared — the mosquitoes come out in full force and they don’t hold back! Bring repellent if you plan to stay late.
Mihai M — Google review
The best beach in the Sinis' peninsula. Cristal clear waters and the sand is made of white quartz. It gets busy. Best time to visit and get a nice spot are early morning or late afternoon. I recommend watching the sunsets.
Giovan C — Google review
We chose this beach after seeing the reviews, particularly due to the unique terrain. It was lovely, and the miniscule pebbles as a substitute for sand is something I’d wish instead of every sandy beach from now onwards. Water is crystal clear and the atmosphere is relaxing.

It offers scenic hiking routes and diving sites, as well as caverns with archaeological remains. Beautiful experience on sea with Elena Escursioni. We spent a wonderful day at sea on their boat
Del P — Google review
Beautiful views and the cave but you need to walk down in big heat but even a lot more on the way up. Inside the cave it is warm, 18-20C during the whole year.
Radka K — Google review
You cannot access the Capo Caccia area but you can, however, for a fee of 14€, visit the underneath cave through some stairs (lots of them). My 2 cents - not worth the 14€ - visit the surrounding areas for free and you can find some real gems if you are daring enough.

Gorgeous views all around! Getting there by boat is even more spectacular!

Su Nuraxi di Barumini

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Su Nuraxi di Barumini, located in Sardinia, is a UNESCO World Heritage site that showcases the prehistoric Nuragic civilization. It features well-preserved stone structures, including circular towers known as nuraghe, and various archaeological artifacts. The site offers valuable insights into ancient construction techniques and societal organization. Su Nuraxi di Barumini appeals to archaeology enthusiasts and history aficionados interested in ancient civilizations.
One of the most unique experiences that you can have on the island of Sardinia. The place can be only visited with a guide, but it will be well worth the visit. If you are visiting during the summer time, make sure that you will have some umbrella or some long sleeves so that you will be protected from the Sun. Sunscreen is definitely a must. The guide will explain the entire history and will give some interesting facts about the structures. Overall, this is definitely one of the must visit places on the island and with one ticket you get to visit two more places.
Goran A — Google review
Beautiful important archaeological site. The tours are every 30 minutes and they last 1 hour. Tour is available in English too, price is decent and includes the museum in the village ahead of the site and other activities as well. Highly recommended.
Mattia M — Google review
UNESCO world heritage. Very interesting historical place to visit. Very good guided tour (eng) at this +1500 years old fortress. Be prepared for narrow and steep walkways within the structure.
Mårten W — Google review
Fascinating and a must-see site for all who love ancient history. Well-preserved Nuragic complex dating back over 3,500 years. The central tower (~ 18 meters high) and surrounding village give you a real sense of how advanced the Nuragic civilization was. Narrow passages, spiral staircases, and circular huts show how people lived many years ago. The guided tour was informative and brought the place to life. Included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Please check the time when excursions start to avoid long waiting (especially in English). Highly recommended
Mykola K — Google review
Interesting former fort. An archaeological experience although much reconstructed. Tour takes you up the remains and into the narrow tunnels. Inside isn't for information or claustrophobic! Fascinating site and location. Tours are required and run every half hour. Unesco interest.
Alan B — Google review
The past can be touched and felt. Amazing piece of history. The tour guide was very kind and funny. No question left un answered. But note: The pathways inside the tower are really narrow and steep. Good footwear needed ...not for claustrophobic people or when afraid of hights.
Marie-Colette L — Google review
It's a good experience since you learn a bit of the history of Nuragis, also the archeological site is quite impressive due to the rock sizes, however, it is a short visit, no museums or any other interactive experience that will explain or show more about the history of Nuragis besides what the guide explains. Short experience, it's worth to visit if you are driving through.
Alejandro R — Google review
The archaeological site itself is truly impressive and well worth visiting; the problem lies with the tour guide. During the tour, you are required to follow the guide. However, perhaps because it was peak tourist season in August, the guide seemed more like a temporary employee. Her English was fluent, but somewhat unclear, as if she had simply memorized a script. She couldn't understand questions asked in English, and didn't seem to have a deep understanding of the site's history. Her presentation consisted of a few photocopied pictures, and with so many people spread out, it was difficult to hear her. Furthermore, she didn't allow enough time to properly explore and appreciate the site. Even worse, when we wanted to stop for a few minutes to observe and take photos, she rudely refused and abruptly closed the gate (there were no other groups, so there was no issue of overcrowding). She ignored our questions, even when we told her that another family from our group was still behind us, slowly walking along. She offered no response and showed no enthusiasm or passion for the culture. There were many tourists from various countries. It's fair to say that visiting guided tours is a bit of a gamble. During our travels in Sardinia, we visited countless sites and met many enthusiastic tour guides who were passionate about history and culture; we learned so much from them and left with a wealth of knowledge and wonderful memories. However, for this particular tour, had we not done some research beforehand, paying for the guided tour would have been a waste of money and we would have been disappointed.

Caverns & Caves
Frecce delle grotte srl offers an unforgettable experience of exploring the stunning Grotte. Visitors have enjoyed boat rides to the caves and even spotted dolphins during their trips. The crew is known for being welcoming and hospitable, providing coffee and refreshments on board. While some suggest that more details about the region could be shared during the tour, many find the long boat ride along the cliffs to be awe-inspiring.
2 options to get there. Boat or land (incl 600+ steps). When it's choppy, no boats run. Amazing sight. Tour in Italian and English and well worth it. No need to book ahead if going by land but you may need to wait. If going by sea, boat and entry paired together.
Alex S — Google review
I enjoyed Neptune's Grotto, it's beautiful and ethereal. The boat ride there was lovely and weather was perfect. There are a lot of people in at any given time, so expect some queues and slowness. But it's a little confusing online how to book. If taking the boat, you buy a ticket from the vendor in person, not online. My ticket was €17. But the Grotto has a separate admission which is €14. This caught a few people out on the day. They do take card and cash 🙂
Jo T — Google review
First time being in a cave, cool place to view. Guide tours in both Italian and English, also possible to ask questions in French. Typical tourist attraction but one definitely worth doing when in Alghero.
Yente W — Google review
Overcrowded + horrible organization 😔 The cave was beautiful, the boat ride was pleasant, and the crew was skilled and polite. For these aspects, I would give 10 out of 5 stars. However, the organization at the cave entrance was terrible. About half of our boat was overtaken by a group of around 40 German tourists. When we pointed this out, they laughed at us. When we reported it to the staff at the ticket office and the entrance, they acted as if it wasn’t their problem. The group was let in ahead of us simply because they pushed through. Considering the entrance fee wasn’t cheap, the service was very poor and irresponsible. As a result, I spent the entire cave visit worrying whether we would make it back in time for the boat, and I couldn’t enjoy the tour. I would only recommend this place to people with strong nerves.
Ivana P — Google review
The lady at the ticket office was very professional and knowledgeable. The guy at the boat entrance was rude and very unprofessional. Shouting and making hand gestures!! Boats are dated and very crowded, probably over the allowed capacity limit. Try other operators to visit the caves.
Mohanad A — Google review
Good afternoon, there was one tour at 10, one at 3 pm that day. Nice tour sailors, really helpful. They maybe could give us more details about the region/environment. Really hot on the boat so don’t forget sunscreen and water!!
Lo ( — Google review
This is a trip you must do. The Grotte is a wonderful sight to see (price is completely seperate to the boat ride out and my experience is that you are told this) I have seen dolphins on 2 trips out to the Grotte and Steps. The crew on Debora are great. Very welcoming and hospitable. Coffee and refreshments are served on board ☕️
Eileen V — Google review
Absolutely dissapointing..arrived at the cave and captain said that weather is not good to park the boat. Did not even reach the entrance to see that. At that moment the waves was 0.6-0.8m. They already told while buying tickets that if weather is not good they will just swim around with the boat (like they knew that it will happen from the beginning).

Very nice beach without seaweed. Clean, pleasant, there are trees you can hide in their shade. The most beautiful beach in Alghero
Grzegorz J — Google review
Excellent beach, clean water, can be very crowded between 10 and 4 this time of uear but still lovely! If you walk until the very end, less people and more space.
Patricia M — Google review
Beautiful beach. It is wide and long enough for plenty of people to use. There are also trees in the beginning which provide sufficient shade.
Luky J — Google review
I'm not sure where Maria Pia ends and Fertilia beach starts, but the closer you get to Fertilia, the beach becomes calmer and the parking - free (the part with the palm trees by the road, not with the pines). Unfortunately the free beach areas are not clean from algae, as everywhere in Sardinia.
Annice W — Google review
One of our favourite beaches in the region! The sand is really fine, the beach itself and the water are clean. There are few beach bars and plenty of space for your own umbrella. ☀️🌊⛱️ You can use the public transport to come to the beach from Alghero. 🚌

Beautiful beach with free areas. The water is crystal clear and gradually deepens, and the shore is covered with soft sand. Even on the weekend, it wasn’t too crowded.

Very nice, long and sandy beach with pine trees 👍🏻
Radek E — Google review
This was a beautiful beach with clear, greenish blue water. The water gets deeper very gradually and the waves are gentle. There are some rocks for decent snorkeling on one side of the beach. There was a fenced parking lot across the street where we paid 10 Euros for all day. There was a row of parking spaces in front of the beach, but I’m not sure if they were free. Many parked along the road. There is a beach bar with nice drinks. There is a toilet behind it. Also, there are a small number of sunbeds you can rent.

The most beautiful beach I have ever seen. You will need to make a reservation and bring mats which are mandatory
Natalia U — Google review
Very pretty, but very expensive and full of people. First row 50 (2 chairs and 1 umbrella) other rows 45. It’s very very full and very very beautiful. Depends on the kind of trip you are doing. And if you enter the website at 8 it’s almost sure you can buy. Parking paid, saw many people getting tickets on the way out, so pay for the hours you are going to stay.
Camila P — Google review
Overall experience was a 3/5. What is good: - view and the sea was just so beautiful and a must see for sure What is bad: - parking is quite expensive (paid 15€ for 4h) - you need to put a mat below your beach towel - reserving is a bit stressful (tickets are very popular and so you should reserve by 8am (or 9am when the not fulfilled reservations get back online)) - place is super crowded; it is really hard to relax there - windy place; be prepared for flying sun umbrellas (so better get a anker for your umbrella)
Sebastian K — Google review
Sure the water is beautiful, but you have to share it with hundreds of other people. Way too crowded. I thought that needing to make a reservation and pay ahead of time that they limited the number of people but that's not the case. We stayed the whole day to get our money's worth, but the beach was too crowded. There are beaches that are just as beautiful, free, and not full of people. Highly overrated.
Cassia G — Google review
Beautiful beach with fine white sand and turquoise water. The views are amazing, and the sea is crystal clear — perfect for swimming and relaxing.
Anisoara R — Google review
This is one of the most popular beaches in Sardinia. The water is clean and transparent. We went off-season (mid-October) and were positively surprised that they don`t charge for parking now. Better arrive early in the morning because an hour later the parking was almost full. The weather in October turned out to be perfect for beach time - less crowds and more parking space. Another positive surprise is that they did not charge us for a beach towel mat - there was no one to look after this. Also being off-season we did not have to make a reservation and just popped-up. The beach is suitable for families with children - no waves, calm water. Totally recommend but come here in October.
Яна Т — Google review
Super crowded, and impossible to find parking after 10:30 am, even in late September, on a weekday. This is a "fake" beach where social validation, digital culture, and identity performance is the main attraction. By the way, you'll need to make reservations a month in advance. Parking is super expensive, if you can find any spaces. This is your typical Instagram scam. That being said, the water is clear and shallow, a perfect swimming pool. Come here early to enjoy it. Oh, no reservations required if you're not planning to lie on the sandy beach.
Diego G — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The water is so blue and tranquil. Plan ahead to either get a full day pass 7 days in advance which allows you to enter the beach at anytime on the day(s) you previously selected. Alternatively, you can obtain a QR code 48-hour in advance, however, you must enter during a specific time. You will also need to pay for parking which accepts credit cards. Plan in advance and you will absolutely enjoy your time here.

Roccia dell'Elefante

Mentioned on
1 list
Roccia dell'Elefante, also known as Elephant Rock, is a remarkable natural formation located along state road 134 in the Castelsardo area of Sardinia. This large rust-colored boulder, about four meters high, bears a striking resemblance to a seated elephant. Not only is it an intriguing sight to behold, but it also holds archaeological significance as it contains two ancient Fairy Houses used for burial rituals thousands of years ago.
From the right angle the rock really looks like an elephant, but if you check it around is losing its magic😂 Is an interesting rock. Honestly the view behind it was spectacular. All the green hills were wonderful. But I think that was because we visited in April - I guess the rest of the year its all yellow from the heat.
Andreea D — Google review
"A unique rock formation right by the road. We parked on the roadside and walked up to it easily in a short time. Very easy to access and a quick, interesting stop along the way."
Dalila C — Google review
So funny to see this rock shaped like an elephant, who knew there were elephants in Sardinia. There is some parking for about 10 cars by the side of the road. If you in the area its worth a look.
Richard A — Google review
It's pretty cool for a short stop before Castalsardo. But be careful because sometimes it likes to dance around. 😉🐘
Kaloyan C — Google review
Worth seeing if you’re nearby, but not worth driving many kilometers just for this attraction. However, there are plenty of other sights in the area.

This was the highlight of our day. Must visit 10/10!

It is unbelivable how the likeness is this rock to an elephant! There was quite some people, but we enjoyed it!

Interesting rocky formation with pre-nuragic tombs. Could be better highlighted with more information / panels and with stricter rules for preservation / protection. Can be quite crowded for such a small POI.

Our family stopped to visit this Nuraghe on our way to Tempio Pausania. It's a small but beautiful Nuraghe. The kids loved to see the bats in one of the rooms. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Overall, it's good value for the price of the tickets.

Interesting quick visit. Super cute to see pipistrelli bats. They lend you a torch. €3 entrance. Not a lot to see immediately but you could hike from here I guess

Really nice Nuraghe, takes some minutes to walk to from parking lott. Just before the site there is a restaurant. The excavation site was informative. We got a flashlight to see mini bats in one of the rooms in the Nuraghe. Very friendly staff. Recomended

Capo Testa is a picturesque coastal area in the northernmost point of Sardinia. It offers visitors stunning views of the sea and rocky hiking trails, as well as coves with small sandy beaches to explore. The peninsula is known for its weather-carved granite boulders that resemble sculptures by Henry Moore and a sturdy lighthouse that overlooks the blue waters towards Corsica.
One of the best spot for sunset. I was actually amazed how many people were there! Highly recommended!! Just remember to bring same blanket, food and drink to enjoy the perfect moment♥️🌅

Absolutely stunning place! The rock formations here are truly a masterpiece of nature😌 each one shaped by time and wind into unique, almost surreal sculptures. The views over the turquoise sea are breathtaking, and the entire area feels like a magical escape. Highly recommended for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts💙

Fantastic place to trek and enjoy beaches. The granite natural sculpture and the abandoned lighthouse make this place surreal. Plenty of option and also you could spot some of the locals ( 🐐) climbing 😁. I would say is difficult with small kids due to access to the beach is quite rocky

Was a great day with some amazing views! Great with kids, can climb pretty much all over. Even the coffee bar at the top was great… good burgers and great fries
Peter J — Google review
Really impressing rocks & worth a visit! Parking not so easy and the trails need some hints where to go. The beach directly at Capo Testa is a unique place, but extremely crowded - and hard to reach (some „climbing“).
Tobi H — Google review
Capo Testa is great for a walk to discover the rock formations sculpted by the wind. But it is also great for a swim. There are two sides, on one side a long strip of sand and the other a couple of hidden small creeks with some sand. We chose the later for its peaceful nature and crystal clear water. Parking could be a big issue during the high season. While you come on the road and see some cars, park, don’t go further thinking you will find something. You won’t.

Bonifacio and also the whole south of Corsica are to be seen and experienced in every way. We chose the right place to do it because our holiday in the apartment "Faro di Capo Testa" in the fantastic Bonifacio was just as we wished. The apartment is a tastefully decorated jewel in an extraordinary location in the old downtown of Bonifacio and very well located to reach the key points, restaurants and shops of the town. Although the streets are always full of days and nights, the apartment is very quiet and we really got a good rest each day. A small balcony, overlooking a small square, invites you to have an aperitif in the open air watching the people passing by and admiring the white cliffs located exactly in front of the apartment. The landscape from this point is simply breathtaking and one the best of the town. The cleanliness of the apartment deserves a good 10. Porto Istana Beach is situated near Murta Maria, south of Olbia, and can be accessed through a bus service from Olbia. It boasts white sand and emerald waters that are crystal clear with visible fish swimming between feet. The beach has minimal waves, making it an ideal spot to relax. However, during August the beach gets exceptionally crowded, so advance booking is necessary for front sunbeds. Nevertheless, the view of beautiful mountains in the background compensates for this inconvenience.
Dreamy place. Amazing sand beach without rocks. Sometimes yatches park nearby and they can be quite loud. You can access via the shore; there is a nice trekking path, or via car. Note spaces are limited to park, and bet during summer it gets very crowded. They rent umbrellas, chairs, and there are different sort of restaurants : cantones nearby. Amazing view. Amazing color of water.

An amazing beach that offers you fine sand, clear water and the best view you can have. We went with our beach towels and it was crowded. We hunted the spots so we can stay. I suggest to come in the morning to catch good spots because the beach is a little one.

Stunning beach, crystal water, good parking options. Busy, as you’d expect so be prepared to get cosy with other beach goers. Will deffo visit again, superb!
Al B — Google review
The water was crystal clear, one of the best we've ever been in. It's a truly wonderful experience, especially if you walk a bit further down the beach. Compared to the first section, it wasn't very crowded, and even where we rented sun loungers, no one was swimming. Because we arrived in September, two sun loungers and an umbrella at the front cost 30 euros. Kayak is also available for rent in the section where we stayed, and you can go kayak for an hour for 25 euros.
Burak K — Google review
Amazing sea… You have to come here! You can park your car nearby the way for free, then walk 10-15 minutes. The cheapest sunbeds are €40 in September, but there are also free areas. If you don’t have an umbrella, just find a tree for shade and enjoy this amazing sea all day long.
Merve K — Google review
Nice two beaches next to each other, easily accessible. Parking 2 euros and hour

Parco Nazionale dell'Arcipelago di La Maddalena, established in the mid-1990s, is a stunning marine park comprising seven main islands and numerous smaller granite islets off the northeastern coast of Sardinia. Shaped by the prevailing maestrale wind over centuries, the archipelago boasts unique natural sculptures. The outer islands offer breathtaking seascapes best explored by boat, while the main islands exude charm with their sun-soaked buildings and lively holiday ambiance.
Amazing place with breathtaking views, crystal-clear turquoise waters and cosmic-looking rock formations, very much recommend to take a trip
Kama W — Google review
A wonderful place to visit with a low draft sailing boat. The permit cost is 40% cheaper for sailing boats, which is logical and we appreciate that. Powerboats are noisy and generate pollution. The park has hundreds of places where to anchor, pristine and ecologically sound. The park authorities obviously do a good job!
Yachtshape O — Google review
After spending some days at Capo Testa, where we enjoyed snorkeling and discovering a reach underwater life, we decided to take a boat trip to the Maddalena National Park. We were full of expectation, thinking how wonderful it may be snorkeling there. Sailing with the wind in a small crew was a good start, but the the stop at the first cove was very disappointing: we were expected to swim between moving boats, so we risked to see nothing, life under water almost not existing. We were told that since it is September now there is less nautic trafic, but we witnessed every kind of boats coming from all directions and very close to the coves. We anchored in a more quiet and less touristic cove but again underwater life very poor. The day was at the end pleasant because of sailing and a nice skipper and the visit to the Cala Rosa, which is really protected, but we understood that the National Park is not a place to protect nature rather it is a place to make money, a LunaPark for reach tourist. I hope things will change and more ecologic tourism, which still advantage local people, will develop. Instead of taking a boat trip, please look for nice caves along the cost and you will have more fun and save money!😊

This beach is also known for being great for snorkeling due to its small size and stunning surroundings.
Very nice beach, parking is literally a 1min walk away from it. The beach club in front of it only opens during the peak season.

We enjoy this beach. It is on the smaller side paying parking lot walking distance. We were here before the summer not as crowded. Beautiful clear water, there is a beach club walking distance for drinks food and more $$$-$$$$. If you need to use the restroom they do charge $1 Euro for to use it unless you eat at the drink bar or rent the lounge and umbrellas. This beach is good for couples, somewhat families with older children. The only downside the constant annoyance of beach sellers.
Pellon L — Google review
Amazing water for snorkeling and swimming; gets busy and crowded very quickly. The Best time is early morning. Parking is not too big, so if you come after 9.30, you might not find a car parking space. There is a small beach on the left hand side and two beaches on the opposite side. It’s very nice and definitely worth visiting!

Surrounded by lush countryside, the translucent waters are calm and ideal for children to swim. Additionally, the nearby treeline provides plenty of shade.
NOT THE ONE AND ONLY, but definitely ONE OF THE BEST. Why? Heaven on earth, just too many people. Other than that, simply stunning ❤️ Powdery white sandy beaches with crystal clear water like in the best Caribbean places in the world. There is everything available for entertainment that you could think of, from bars, to beach clubs, to restaurants and hotels to gadgets of any kind. COME EARLY to get a good spot on the beach. Beach clubs are between 35-60 per person and mostly fully booked with waiting lists. SNORKELING is just great there. The water is safe and mostly shallow. We spotted a ton of fish from small to medium, starfishes, and even various STINGRAYS. a dream come true for anyone with kids. PARKING is easy if you go to a beach club. Otherwise use dedicated private parking for EUR 8.-, which is fair for a spot in high demand like this one. There is a ton of things more to say, however better just try for yourself or put in a question as a comment. Have fun.

Absolutely stunning beach , the water is crystal clear and the backdrop of tees around the bay is glorious. Some fabulous beaches bars too. We recommend La Plage and Le Fort. The downside is it gets super busy in peak season. If you have to go in August go early morning, if you are lucky enough to go late September, you will be in paradise !
Lyndele F — Google review
Lovely beach, but very crowded and the parking costs 20€ 🤨. Also some places full of seagrass. But water is clean, no big waves.
Alesia G — Google review
A bit crowded, but nice water and actual sand. I don't like jetskies or parasailing, makes the natural experience bad. I liked the good bars on the beach to have lunch.
Arne Z — Google review
The beach consists of a long narrow strip of fine clean sand (between 10m and 30m in width), skirting a bay of very shallow clear water which extends at least 50 m from the shoreline. The setting is hardly spectacular but the peninsula making up the South side of the bay provides a pretty backdrop. On a fine sunny weekday afternoon towards the end of September the beach was busy, but not oppressively so. All the usual water sports/activities were available and the beach is also a drop-off/pick-up point for cruises along the coast. Various bars - none very special - are dotted along the central part of the beach, closest to the parking areas. Was it quiet or romantic : no, would it be a fine place for small children to paddle in the water : emphatically yes. In line with the reports from other reviewers, I can easily imagine that it would be an absolute zoo in July and August.

Great beach in the south of Corsica. Very overrated in my opinion. Very expensive ar park, flat rate 10 pounds. A lot of bars on the beach which kind of ruins the experience. It can be quite crowded as well. Clean water lovely views. Great for kids.

Palombaggia is a stunning beach located in the southeast of Corsica, known for its clear waters and white sand. The area offers various water activities such as diving, jet skiing, and sailing sports. It serves as an ideal starting point for excursions and cruises to nearby beaches like Cerbicales Islands and Bay of Santa Giula.
This beach is pretty hyped up around here, but to be honest, it didn't really blow us away. You'll definitely find at least four bars and restaurants nearby, so there's no shortage of places to grab a bite or a drink. The beach itself varies in width along its stretch, so whether you're looking for a cozy spot or a wider area to lay out a bit further from the water, you’ve got options. If you're just in the mood for a quick beer, a drink, or maybe some ice cream for the kids, I'd really recommend hitting up the smaller stands tucked away near the trees close to the big hotels or standalone restaurants. Prices there are seriously like half of what you’d pay at the bigger spots.

Beautiful clean water, with some parts more crowded than others. Parking for free is tricky, better either choose a beachclub if you plan to eat anyways (parking fees will be deducted), or there are large cheap parkings at the north eastern end.

A must see in the south of Corsica. When we went it was raining but the sea water was still warm. Easy access, cheap parking and lovely bar on the beach. Overall a great beach.
Ines R — Google review
Best plage 🏝️👌 If you come to the south of Corsica, be sure to go to this beach
Luka L — Google review
Great beach, turquoise water and it was not crowded but parking is ridiculously expensive, 35 eur for 5 hours on the beach or in best case 11.20 eur for 4 hours. And then you have to walk 600 meters downhill and coming back to the car is a real training. There is one bar and one restaurant with prices for Space tourism
Balkan R — Google review
I went there very much at the end of the season. No problem parking plenty of place on the beach. Temperature was perfect for me. Could still get a drink. I appreciate others may have different experiences if they go in July or August but has to be one of the most stunning beaches in France.

Amazing place with great food, drinks, music and breathtaking water
Ben — Google review
Wonderful sand beach with convenient parking. Came at around 11 in the morning and it was not a problem to park car in the shade of pine trees. And parking is free! Beach itself goes alongside, walk further and it will not be crowded at all. Crystal clear and shallow water, stones to make insta pics, bars everything is there! The best beach for us visited in Corsica! Recommended!!!

The area provides opportunities for a 5-hour round trip hike from Col de Bavella to explore its natural wonders, including the famous 'trou de la bombe.'
Delicious traditional Corsican food, efficient service and fantastic views from the terrace. The ideal place to enjoy lunch after a hike in the mountains!

At 11am, we’ve ordered 2 cappuccinos at an almost empty restaurant. We were served two cups of warm milk with barely dissolved instant coffee or similar substance floating on top although they have an espresso machine. Upon politely asking whether our order was misunderstood, we were informed in no uncertain terms that “chez nous le cappuccino est comme ça”. Best avoided.

Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Tarquinia - Palazzo Vitelleschi is a must-visit museum housed in the magnificent Palazzo Vitelleschi, showcasing one of Italy's finest collections of Etruscan artifacts. The museum features an impressive array of Etruscan finds, including terra-cotta winged horses from the 4th century BC and a large collection of Etruscan and Roman sarcophagi and funeral objects.
Painted burial tombs and lots of etruscan artifacts. Additional exhibits and collection including Lippe painting.
Mark S — Google review
What a treasure! I definitely recommend this amazing museum. It probably hosts the richest collection of Etruscan art. You will dig into the past discovering their cults and their skills in working metals and rocks. The ticket (combined with the tombs is only 10 euros). The beautiful building of the museum is itself worth the price of the visit. I am not giving 5 stars because unluckily, the pieces at the museum are not well displayed. The narrative during the visit and the descriptions of the objects are missing. But worst of all, I didn’t see any indications in English. I’m saying this as an Italian, sorry but this is not acceptable in 2021!
Mario M — Google review
Very good museum fast and easy. With a lot of context and informations and it shows a lot of exemples. Only big problem, there is too little of English traductions, most of it is in Italian which makes it hard to understand the history of the Étrusques without knowing Italian.

The Necropolis of Tarquinia, also known as the Necropolis of Tarquinia di Monterozzi, is a significant archaeological complex and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It features Etruscan tombs adorned with vibrant paintings depicting human figures and animals. The site, dating back to the 9th century BC and expanding from the 7th century BC, spans 20 hectares in Cerveteri.
That's a very interesting archaelogical site. The visit takes two hours as we saw all the tombs' chambers with their decoration. On the tombs' walls there are also paintings of fighting animals, banquet scenes, flowers and fruits. The price of the ticket is not expensive, considering that it also includes the visit to the Tarquinia Museum.

Absolutely unique archaeological site. Really worth the visit. Unfortunately, around 3/4 of the site and around 2/3 of the most famous tombs (including the most famous, of the Leopards) are under renovation for “at least” more 6 months and currently not accessible. I did not find this information anywhere before driving here.

Wonderful archeological site. This was the second time I took our children here and It went really well. Children really like to check every tomb, go down the stairs, push the button that turns the light on and admire the paintings. The only thing is that this time the bar was closed but drinking water was available at the entrance.

The place is worth visiting. A green hill overlooking the fields outside the city. Filled with well preserved chambers/ tombs what are dug into the ground and "visitable". The admission which normally is just €8 for adults, was free on the 1st sunday of the month. Signs tell in italian and english the story behind each of the persons to which the tombs are devoted to. The simple architecture of the place, the scenery and the fact that a lot of work has been put in place to make this visitor friendly even for everyone make it certainly worth your time.

Sights & Landmarks
Vulci, an ancient Etruscan-Roman city sprawling across a 120-acre plain, offers visitors walking trails through its ruins, a cemetery, and an archaeology museum. Overrun by the Romans in 280 BC, the present remains are considered Roman. The city is bounded by the river Flora. The archaeological museum provides informative panels in Italian and English for self-guided tours.
Vulci Park is one of the most serene places we've ever discovered. Visiting on weekdays offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the park, with some spots providing complete silence and relaxation. The park features two main trails: a shorter one that takes about 1.5 hours and a longer one that takes around 3 hours to complete. With the 10€ ticket you'll get a map and a short explanation of the trail by gentle and dedicated people. The shorter trail is particularly fascinating, as it leads you past ancient graves and a large herd of Maremma cows. Along the way, you'll find informative signs that identify various plant species, enhancing your connection with the natural surroundings. One of the highlights of the park is a stunning small lake, and there's a dedicated spot for butterfly encounters, although you'll find butterflies almost everywhere in the park. As you walk, you'll be serenaded by the chirping of birds, adding to the tranquil atmosphere. Due to the rocky terrain, it's advisable to wear trekking shoes, even though the routes are not technically challenging. This will help you navigate the paths comfortably and enjoy your visit without any issues. Vulci Park is a place where you can experience a full connection with nature like never before. Whether you're exploring the ancient sites, observing the wildlife, or simply soaking in the peaceful environment, this park offers a truly unforgettable experience.

the walk around the roman ruins is nice but very long, not recommended in high temperatures though, we did it at 28 degrees and with the steep inclimbs it was very tough. if you only want a short walk, walk down from the restaurant to the lake and get a really nice view, skip all the rest of the walk without views. there are horses so be aware for people with horse allergies

The park is very big so bring sneakers and your own water if you're going there in summer. The waterfall is very natural. It's good for taking a walk and chilling out with family in this sight. The parking is easy.

Well the archaeological site is just incredible and so interesting and we enjoyed walking around it though it is quìte exposed for the majority of the walk. There are explanation on some of the boards in english as well as italian and you receive a park map from a surly woman at the entrance. Bring snacks and drinks as the restaurant nearby the pond walk is not great. You will have to do your research before arrival as unfortunately, the staff at the admission desk were disinterested and verging on rude. No advice or guidance offered and they wanted as little to do with us as possible...3 women sitting behind a desk, doing nothing and answering our queries was just too much for them. However don't let that out you off, the site itself is amazing. Toilets on site. They advertise ebike rental but when I enquired I was given a short no. It would have been better enjoyed by bike in the heat. .

Santa Severa Castle is a striking medieval fortress located on a promontory, offering stunning sea views from the Saracen Tower. The castle overlooks a long stretch of wide sandy beach, making it one of the best beaches near Rome. The beach, known as spiaggia libera, is freely accessible to all and gets quite crowded during the summer months. The castle's historical legacy is remarkable, with massive polygonal blocks visible in its walls.
This is the best place we ever stayed ❤️. Me and my family enjoyed staying in this amazing castle situated on the shore of the sea wit breathtaking view on the sea from the balcony room 😍 and soooooooooo silent, the only thing that we were able to hear was the waves of the sea 🌊 ❤️ 😍. We had the pleasure of staying here for a couple of nights and the location is an absolute treat. Moving around the premises is a little awkward as the place is a living museum and certain areas are off limits or require a ticket for access, but we managed. Nobody speaks english so you need to be pretty self sufficient. There is a common area for hotel guests with a kitchen, books, soda and coffee machines and free wifi throughout. If we ever come back here, I hope we can get a room with sea view or a balcony, but other than that the place is magical, I found it's truly worth the experience.

There are also hand-made masters with beautiful creations. Bar and food zone is near the castle. Also a little restaurant is nearby on the beach

A great castle right on the shore. We were surprised that this castle was more than a single building. It had an outer wall, buildings inside the wall, and then finally the large castle. We didn't stay here but I read it offers rooms to stay in for a very reasonable rate.

Ostia Antica is an ancient Roman harbor city located at the meeting point of the River Tiber and the sea. It is renowned as one of Italy's most well-preserved archaeological sites, offering a glimpse into its cosmopolitan past where various gods were worshipped in its shrines. The site features beautifully preserved architectural remains such as mosaic pavements, warehouses, apartment buildings, merchants' houses, taverns, baths, and a theater.
Definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Italy. Ostia Antica is the original port of Rome situated approximately fourteen miles from the centre of Rome. This is better archaeological park to visit than the Roman Forum in my opinion, the park is bigger, better preserved and a lot quieter. There are lots of great examples of how how life was lived back in those times including a remarkably well preserved Roman amphitheatre. Highly recommend.
Will M — Google review
Great ancient place without the crowds and pleasant escape from the city of Rome. It is a marvelous example of the whole port of Ostia that existed here 2700 years ago. Definitely worth it and it’s free. You have to book the tickets online if you travel with a school and show a letter of the school with children personal data and the signature of the director of the school. It takes 2-3 hours minimum of the sightseeing, so take that into account. There is a cafe and a gift shop inside the ancient ruins 😊
Przemysław P — Google review
A must see for any fans of ancient Rome (or ancient cities in general). You can see most of it within a day, but expect quite a bit of walking. There are toilets and fresh water points available throughout the site. Near the museum, in the norther part of the city, you can also get something to eat. The entry costs 18euro, but certain groups are eligible for a free entry. The audio guide, costs additional 7euro, but I wouldn't say it is super necessary. It gives some additional information, but there are multiple signs, both in Italian and English, across the site, that explain pretty well what you are looking at. Just be sure to get the map of the site beforehand to plan your route! Everything was giving me similar vibes as when visiting Pompei. Some things might be better preserved there, but Ostia is much more friendly to visit without a guide.

Really reccomamded!! You dive into 2000 years ago in a magical Roman Empire contest. The beauty of Roman architecture, houses, roads, harbour, thermal areas, theatre, markets. Simply beautiful. The Park is in perfect condition. A big Parking available. I reccomand to book a guide. (Sinopie).
Gio B — Google review
Very cool place to visit! Easy to do if you’re in the area of the airport, lots of parking available at the entrance. Tickets are 18€ for adults which is a bit steep, however you can easily spend an entire day here if you like. Highly recommend you bring food and drinks as there is not a lot of shade. There is a cafeteria in the city, but it was closed when we visited. If you visit this with a wheelchair or baby stroller, it is possible to go through the main road. But, most of the road is old roman cobble stones. Which are not easy. Some paths are paved, we just wished they are linked together more as it would increase the possibilities for people to visit the city. Still would recommend this to anyone to visit!
Koen D — Google review
Great to get the feeling you are setting foot in an ancient Roman city. Not too crowded. I felt more in tune with the history than in the Forum Romanum. It’s best to get a map, because directions in the park aren’t so clear.
Klaas R — Google review
Don’t tell everyone—let them all go to Pompeii, while we enjoy the fully preserved Roman town of Ostia Antica in peace. With hardly any tourists, it offers a quiet, pleasant atmosphere you can explore all day—or even for several days, since the ticket allows unlimited entry for eight days.

We stopped at the ruins of this ancient city on our way in to Rome. This place is a massive excavation site of an old Roman city. Unbelievable that you can walk on the streets from a time so long ago. Absolutely worth the stop if you’re a history nerd like me. Give yourself lots of time, as this place is huge. Located in Bracciano, 30 kilometers northwest of Rome, the Orsini-Odescalchi Castle is a grand 15th-century fortress that offers guided tours of its lavishly decorated rooms and houses a museum. The castle sits on the shores of Lake Bracciano, also known as Lago di Bracciano or Sabatino, making it convenient to visit both attractions together.
Amazing old castle, with an authentic atmosphere. Not like anything I have seen before, where the castles are refurbished and totally redesigned. This one keeps the old atmosphere. Also, the views are incredible, the castle is surrounded by a lake. Will definitely come back and it definitely worth the visit.

Having visited hundreds of castles and museums this one totally blew our minds. Ten euros to get in. Use your phone to get a free video/audio guide in Italian or English or take their guided tours. And then go. Takes about 1h to 1.5 hours to visit it all but it really is spectacular and gives a real sense of what life was like. The audio guide is awesome. One tip: download the video so you can watch it on your phone as sometime you might have connectivity issues due to the thick walls. The views of the lake are also breathtaking. Wish they'd open a café on the lawn but that's just coffee addiction speaking 😂😁

Visiting Castello di Bracciano is a lovely experience, but be ready for a bit of steep walking up. After the Belvedere, you cross a small bridge and buy tickets. Tip for families: use the bathroom right after purchasing tickets! We skipped it, and when my son needed to pee mid-tour, we had to walk all the way back down to the entrance—not easy with two kids. Inside, the castle feels spacious, atmospheric, and rich in history. Don’t expect original furniture, but the recreated rooms, paintings, and especially the collection of weapons, armors, swords, and pistols kept my little one fascinated. The panoramic views from the castle are stunning and worth every step. We went on a quiet Easter Friday, with mild weather, and it was perfect—not crowded, not too hot or cold. I would recommend visiting in spring or autumn, as summer heat would make the outdoor sections uncomfortable. Overall, a beautiful visit with kids, full of history, atmosphere, and great views.

Perched high above the tranquil waters of Lake Bracciano in Italy, castello Orsini-Odescalchi is one of the most impressive Renaissance-era castles in the country. Built in the 15th century by the powerful Orsini family, it was later inherited by the noble Odescalchi family, who still own it today. Over the centuries, it has hosted popes, kings, and generals, including Pope Sixtus IV and King Charles VIII of France. It is very well-preserved and now functions as a museum, featuring period furnishings, ancient weapons, frescoes, and artworks that offer a glimpse into noble life during the Middle Ages and Renaissance. It is also a sought-after venue for high-profile weddings, famously hosting the marriage of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in 2006. Well worth a visit, €10 entrance, and an hour on the slow train from Rome.

Lake Bracciano, located 30 kilometers northwest of Rome, is a popular destination known for its clear waters and tranquil surroundings. The lake has been supplying fresh water to Rome for almost 2000 years and remains one of the least polluted lakes in Italy. It is a favorite spot for sailing, swimming, and scuba diving. Surrounding the lake are hotels and the renowned Castello Orsini-Odescalchi, dating back to the 15th century.
A very beautiful lake you must visit. The surroundings are also beautiful with lots of activities to do such as taking a walk by the lake or swim or even paddle boarding or fishing and many other activities. There is a kids playing area in addition to plenty of affordable paid parking if you want to park close to the lake. The lake is surrounded by a number of good restaurants and bars, which add more excitement. I always go there on Sundays, and every time I go there, there is a small flea market that sells many things. Furthermore, the lake is gorgeous in September. there is nothing that spoils the lakes view and is perfect to enjoy nature and peace of mind.

Must visit; not only for the lake but also the beautiful surroundings of the lake where you can hike or stop and eat etc. The lake itself was clean and peaceful and it’s the second largest lake in the region and one of the major lakes in Italy( it’s a volcanic lake by origin) and for the first time I saw a type of rat that I’ve never seen before there eating rice😅: Nutria (Myocastor coypus), also known as the coypu. On Fridays, you have open market very close to the lake where you buy jewelry, bags etc. You can find parking space for cars but most parkings are payment(not that much) except you park for free a little away from the lake and then take your time and walk to the lake

Spent a couple of hours walking along the beach and up through the town. A beautiful location on a lake in a volcanic crater. Lots to see in the area, with medieval castle Castello Orsini-Odescalchi, the ancient church of San Liberato ( from the ninth century). It was an enjoyable visit in a community just north of Rome.

If you are in rome and are looking for a quick getaway this is it! It’s such a peaceful area and the lake is great for a quick swim with the swans. Kayak is also available and you can also rent pedal boats for groups of 4 which is really cheap!

Magical place, mostly after 6pm when the sun is not so strong and the kids are gone. Good for sailing, relaxing, enjoying yourself and taking beautiful pictures.

Nestled in the charming hamlet of Bagnaia, Villa Lante is a stunning example of 16th-century Italian Mannerist architecture and garden design. This exquisite complex features meticulously manicured lawns, elegant hedges, and an array of enchanting fountains that create a serene atmosphere. The centerpiece is a magnificent statue crafted by Giambologna, adding to the artistic allure of the gardens.
Villa Lante, Viterbo – A Hidden Gem of Italian Garden Design Villa Lante in Bagnaia (near Viterbo) is an absolute must-visit for lovers of Renaissance architecture, stunning gardens, and intricate water features. This 16th-century villa, designed by the legendary architect Giacomo Barozzi da Vignola, is a masterpiece of Italian Mannerist garden design. The real highlight here is the breathtaking garden rooms, each with its own unique design and layout, perfectly integrated with the natural landscape. The water features are truly spectacular—flowing fountains, cascades, and carefully designed waterworks create a sense of harmony and elegance. The Fountain of the Moors and the famous water chain that runs down the terraces are particularly mesmerizing. While the villa itself is smaller than some grand palaces, the two symmetrical casini (small lodges) add to its charm, adorned with beautiful frescoes and offering panoramic views of the gardens. The entire site feels peaceful and enchanting, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll. Opening Hours & Ticket Prices (as of 2025): • Opening Times: Usually open Tuesday–Sunday, from 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM (last entry at 6:45 PM). Closed on Mondays. • Entry Fee: Around €8 per person, with discounts for students and seniors. Tips for Visitors: • Visit early in the morning to enjoy the tranquility before larger crowds arrive. • The gardens are best explored at a slow pace—bring comfortable shoes! • If you’re a photography enthusiast, the play of light and water in the gardens provides fantastic opportunities for pictures. Villa Lante is an underrated jewel of central Italy, perfect for a relaxing day trip from Rome or Florence. A true paradise for history and garden lovers alike! Highly recommended.

The garden is on constructions.. It's not that clean and organized that we were expected it to be.. You have a really big potential to be an amazing place that's for now it's not like that.. We waited about half an hour to get in it because it was really windy day and they decided to open it on time.

It is still being renovated and only one fountain is working but the expected time of completion is May 2026 so, for now, the tickets have been reduced to 5 euro

Has real potential but the majority is closed for renovation which is why the ticket is reduced to 5 euros. The contractors have fenced off the majority of the garden so our visit was short. I would suggest managing expectations vs the historic photos you see. You may want to wait until the work is completed before visiting. Once the work is done I’m sure it will be fantastic

Such a romantic garden! Admire how the fountains were arranged and manipulated to creat a beautiful landscape. The garden is not massive so it gives a very intimate and quiet atmosphere. Definitely recommend a visit in late afternoon to take advantage of the softened sunlight.

Even one star is too much. Almost everything here is closed off, but they still charge you 5€ for admission. We asked at the entrance if what was left to see was wheelchair accessible. They said that the gardens were and the buildings ground floor. A bad joke. You can't even get into the two remaining open rooms or the last open plateau in the garden, with the last water fountain. We were really looking forward to the villa, since very little in Italy is wheelchair accessible anyway. I’m just sad and disappointed.

During my recent trip to the charming town of Viterbo, I had the pleasure of exploring the renowned Renaissance garden of Villa Lante in Bagnaia. Covering an area of approximately four hectares, the garden is spread across three main terraces and is considered one of the most famous Renaissance gardens in the world. The garden's most notable feature is its unique "prospect garden" design, which creates an illusion of depth and perspective through the strategic use of fountains, water features, and architectural elements. Walking through the garden, I couldn't help but be struck by the stunning beauty of the meticulously manicured hedges, colorful flower beds, and intricate stonework. As I made my way through the garden's winding paths and hidden corners, I discovered a variety of fascinating features and surprises, including hidden grottos, whimsical sculptures, and breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. It was easy to see why Villa Lante is one of the most visited attractions in Tuscia, with approximately 85,000 visitors per year. Overall, my visit to Villa Lante was a truly unforgettable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Viterbo. Whether you are an art lover, a history buff, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of nature, the garden's stunning design, intricate details, and serene ambiance are sure to leave you spellbound.

Sights & Landmarks
Villa Farnese, a grand mansion constructed by the Farnese family, is adorned with an impressive collection of fine art and furniture. The villa's construction began in 1566 under the supervision of Cardinal Gianfracesco Gambara. Visitors are captivated by the intricate details in its architecture and paintings, making it a must-see destination. The well-organized tour provides insightful information about each space within the building.
A great place for gateway from busy Roman streets. The Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, the future Pope Paul III, really had a taste in selecting this place to build the family’s status symbol. The Villa is full of artistic paint walls, marbles and frescoes. Furthermore, an amazing garden with several fountains are truly impressive. The ticket is 10€ and definitely worth it.

An impressive villa both inside and out - the architecture is stunning, and the interiors are rich with detail. The gardens are beautifully designed, with fountains and lovely views overlooking the town of Caprarola. A hidden gem well worth visiting!

Villa Farnese (Palazzo Farnese), Caprarola If the Sistine Chapel leaves you awestruck and exhausted by the crowds, come to Villa Farnese. This place delivers the same jaw-dropping “how did humans paint all this?” feeling—without the shoulder-to-shoulder shuffle. Room after room is wrapped in frescoes, stucco, and symbolism; you feel the years of craft in every ceiling and cornice. The highlight for me is the Map Room: a wraparound atlas of the known world that reads like a Renaissance data wall. Stand in the center and you can imagine cardinals and captains reading coastlines, trade winds, and borders—more than decoration, it feels like a political and strategic dashboard of its day. I loved spotting details like “Scandia,” “Nova Spagna,” and a portrait labeled Marcus Polus watching over the cartography—tiny windows into how they saw the world. Other moments that stay with you: the elegant helical staircase (perfectly proportioned, endlessly photogenic), the grand salons with mythological ceilings that pull your eyes upward, and the serene courtyards that reset your senses between fresco marathons. Even the approach is cinematic—the palace rising above the town like a stage set. Practical bits: it’s far less crowded than Rome’s headline sights, so you can linger and actually look. Give yourself time; every wall rewards patience. Comfortable shoes help, and a weekday morning is ideal. Bottom line: wildly underrated and absolutely bucket-list worthy. Villa Farnese is history, art, and power—painted across stone—and one of the most satisfying cultural visits I’ve had in Italy.

Amazing place of great art, culture and architecture. A symbol of the Farnese political and religious dominance in the region. Definitely worth a day trip.

Beautiful palace. The last room with the maps is a gem! Crazy to see such a good representation of the world from 500 years ago so well preserved.

Fantastic, everyone should visit Caprarola just to explore this place. No crowds when we visited. Takes around 2 -2.5 hours to explore both inside and the extensive grounds outside. Make sure to wander right to the end to see the water features and statues there. There are many rooms to wander through but the map room is certainly one to spend time in. Would highly recommend to everyone.
