I enjoyed Neptune's Grotto, it's beautiful and ethereal. The boat ride there was lovely and weather was perfect. There are a lot of people in at any given time, so expect some queues and slowness. But it's a little confusing online how to book. If taking the boat, you buy a ticket from the vendor in person, not online. My ticket was €17. But the Grotto has a separate admission which is €14. This caught a few people out on the day. They do take card and cash 🙂

First time being in a cave, cool place to view. Guide tours in both Italian and English, also possible to ask questions in French. Typical tourist attraction but one definitely worth doing when in Alghero.

Overcrowded + horrible organization 😔 The cave was beautiful, the boat ride was pleasant, and the crew was skilled and polite. For these aspects, I would give 10 out of 5 stars. However, the organization at the cave entrance was terrible. About half of our boat was overtaken by a group of around 40 German tourists. When we pointed this out, they laughed at us. When we reported it to the staff at the ticket office and the entrance, they acted as if it wasn’t their problem. The group was let in ahead of us simply because they pushed through. Considering the entrance fee wasn’t cheap, the service was very poor and irresponsible. As a result, I spent the entire cave visit worrying whether we would make it back in time for the boat, and I couldn’t enjoy the tour. I would only recommend this place to people with strong nerves.

The lady at the ticket office was very professional and knowledgeable. The guy at the boat entrance was rude and very unprofessional. Shouting and making hand gestures!! Boats are dated and very crowded, probably over the allowed capacity limit. Try other operators to visit the caves.

Good afternoon, there was one tour at 10, one at 3 pm that day. Nice tour sailors, really helpful. They maybe could give us more details about the region/environment. Really hot on the boat so don’t forget sunscreen and water!!

This is a trip you must do. The Grotte is a wonderful sight to see (price is completely seperate to the boat ride out and my experience is that you are told this) I have seen dolphins on 2 trips out to the Grotte and Steps. The crew on Debora are great. Very welcoming and hospitable. Coffee and refreshments are served on board ☕️

Absolutely dissapointing..arrived at the cave and captain said that weather is not good to park the boat. Did not even reach the entrance to see that. At that moment the waves was 0.6-0.8m. They already told while buying tickets that if weather is not good they will just swim around with the boat (like they knew that it will happen from the beginning).

Beautiful clean water, with some parts more crowded than others. Parking for free is tricky, better either choose a beachclub if you plan to eat anyways (parking fees will be deducted), or there are large cheap parkings at the north eastern end.

A must see in the south of Corsica. When we went it was raining but the sea water was still warm. Easy access, cheap parking and lovely bar on the beach. Overall a great beach.

Great beach, turquoise water and it was not crowded but parking is ridiculously expensive, 35 eur for 5 hours on the beach or in best case 11.20 eur for 4 hours. And then you have to walk 600 meters downhill and coming back to the car is a real training. There is one bar and one restaurant with prices for Space tourism

I went there very much at the end of the season. No problem parking plenty of place on the beach. Temperature was perfect for me. Could still get a drink. I appreciate others may have different experiences if they go in July or August but has to be one of the most stunning beaches in France.

Wonderful sand beach with convenient parking. Came at around 11 in the morning and it was not a problem to park car in the shade of pine trees. And parking is free! Beach itself goes alongside, walk further and it will not be crowded at all. Crystal clear and shallow water, stones to make insta pics, bars everything is there! The best beach for us visited in Corsica! Recommended!!!

Sure the water is beautiful, but you have to share it with hundreds of other people. Way too crowded. I thought that needing to make a reservation and pay ahead of time that they limited the number of people but that's not the case. We stayed the whole day to get our money's worth, but the beach was too crowded. There are beaches that are just as beautiful, free, and not full of people. Highly overrated.

This is one of the most popular beaches in Sardinia. The water is clean and transparent. We went off-season (mid-October) and were positively surprised that they don`t charge for parking now. Better arrive early in the morning because an hour later the parking was almost full. The weather in October turned out to be perfect for beach time - less crowds and more parking space. Another positive surprise is that they did not charge us for a beach towel mat - there was no one to look after this. Also being off-season we did not have to make a reservation and just popped-up. The beach is suitable for families with children - no waves, calm water. Totally recommend but come here in October.

Super crowded, and impossible to find parking after 10:30 am, even in late September, on a weekday. This is a "fake" beach where social validation, digital culture, and identity performance is the main attraction. By the way, you'll need to make reservations a month in advance. Parking is super expensive, if you can find any spaces. This is your typical Instagram scam. That being said, the water is clear and shallow, a perfect swimming pool. Come here early to enjoy it. Oh, no reservations required if you're not planning to lie on the sandy beach.

One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The water is so blue and tranquil. Plan ahead to either get a full day pass 7 days in advance which allows you to enter the beach at anytime on the day(s) you previously selected. Alternatively, you can obtain a QR code 48-hour in advance, however, you must enter during a specific time. You will also need to pay for parking which accepts credit cards. Plan in advance and you will absolutely enjoy your time here.

Giant bastion, when you aproach those walls from land it is like OMG. Inside is a small town with a church of John the Baptist. If you are lucky to get a parking place bellow the walls, otherwise park before the marine and have a nice walk through turist streets. Once inside encircle the walls and enjoy the view.

Lovely place to visit, just be prepared for alot of steps and steep gradients but the view is worth it.

Wonderful place and totally worth the climb! Tip: go in the morning, the sun hits the hill on the other side. You will get better views and will avoid the crowds. Also, if you go in summer, it's way cooler!

Coming here in the rain turned out to be an excellent idea — there were almost no people around, and the views were still amazing. A bunch of viewpoints overlooking the city and the sea, walking trails, waterfalls, parks… it feels like someone was playing a video game and packed everything into one place. A beautiful experience.

The Colline du Château is also known as Castle Hill. It has several ideal lookouts / viewpoints from where you can see the best views of Nice. At the top there is even a terrace with a couple of benches, occasionally with a musician - there was a drummer when we were there. In addition to many scenic walks and viewpoints, there is also a waterfall, archeological ruins, playgrounds for children, and a cafe. It’s hard to miss seeing the Colline du Château from the famous Promenade d’Anglais and whether ascending either by steps on one side or a ramp on the other, it’s worth the effort. Spend an hour or the day as there are plenty of public restrooms and a couple of snack kiosks. Highly recommend!

The park is absolutely beautiful—lush pathways, peaceful corners, and some of the best panoramic views of the city and the Mediterranean. Whether you hike up, take the stairs, or use the elevator, the views at the top are completely worth it. I loved wandering around the ruins, the gardens, and the waterfall area. It’s the perfect place to take a break from the busier streets below and just soak in the scenery. The mix of history and nature gives the whole park a calm, charming vibe. Overall, Parc de la Colline du Château is a must-visit when in Nice—great for photos, relaxing walks, and unbeatable views of the coastline and Old Town.

Amazing view point for Nice and a good day out for sure! There is a lift you can take to the top of the hill which definitely improves the accessibility. It is decently busy (but what else would you expect). Upon my visit there was 2 people I encountered who seemed to be a little pushy to get people to take pictures with their Doves in exchange for money.

Colline du Chateau, also known as Castle Hill is a wonderful walk with stunning views of Nice. The waterfall was spectacular. We were also surprised to find a couple of places at the top of the hill where you could purchase refreshments. No tickets required, the walk is free, unless of course you wish to skip the exercise and catch the little visitor train.

There’s nothing like witnessing the sunrise during a morning run along the promenade. Ending the run by dipping my feet in the sea and listening to the waves and birds is a truly wonderful way to begin the day. It's a perfect moment of peace and connection with nature!

Great views of the bay and the city. The promenade is apparently over 7 kilometers long and offers lovely views of the water and the city. You can also get a great view of planes taking off to land and coming in at Nice airport! With so much seating available it is a fantastic spot to park up with some takeaway food and watch the world go by. It can be especially pretty at sunset. If you are visiting Nice you will probably walk along here a bunch of times

Nice is a very beautiful city. I could not have enough of it. The clear blue water and the buildings are just breathe taking. Even from the airplane I could see the blue color of the sea. This city should be seen on feet, walking around is the best to see its beauty. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the long beach. It was difficult to walk with my feet in the water because it was a stone beach not sand one.

Along the coast of Cannes, there are beaches along almost the entire length. They are very clean and it is a real pleasure to swim. Lots of restaurants for every taste and pocket. And of course La Croisette! Beautiful! I will be happy to visit Cannes again!

The evening sunsets and the night illuminations and combined with festive fireworks make this place truly romantic and mesmerizing. A must to visit when you are in France.

Notre-Dame de la Garde is definitely a must-see in Marseille. The cathedral itself is stunning, and the panoramic views over the city are breathtaking, especially at sunset – it’s truly magical. The only downside was that I couldn’t pay in cash to enter the museum, which was a bit inconvenient. Otherwise, it was an amazing experience.

Quite a walk from the train station; the uphill climb is a duzy; my hubby is 70 and I'm 64. We made it , but it's a workout. The outside is being restored, so there were several places we couldn't go. Great views.

The Castle on the top of the hill is famous in its own right. Definitely must see when visiting Mercedes. Amazing history. It is a tough walk. If you’re gonna come all the way up the mountain to see this monument as opposed to having a car drive up or one of the electric scooters or vehicles otherwise. Would definitely recommend paying a visit as the expansive 360° views of the city and Port are amazing.

Is a must-see for its incredible architecture and the breathtaking 360-degree views of Marseille. The small museum is interesting but quite brief, and most of the texts are in French. So, while the museum might be a quick stop, the basilica and the stunning panorama are truly unforgettable.

An absolute MUST when in Provence. Get there early before 9 (at least 10 am) if you can - trust me, you will thank me later. Parking fills up fast at the top so you will have to walk up from the parking at the foot of the village. The entry is like 3.5 euros per person. There are two trails, one that takes about 30 min and one that takes 50. Unless you are physically unable to, you must take the longer path otherwise it's useless you will miss the most beautiful spot because only the long trail brings you there. The short trail will allow you to see some of it but bring you in a loop in a forest so you won't see much! Don't get intimidated by one long set of steps up, it's really mostly that and then flat and downhill! Gorgeous colors. Put comfy shoes on, sand is slippery and lots of rocks/roots to watch out for. See my photos, most of them are from the long red trail of 50 minutes, not the yellow one of 30! TAKE THE RED TRAIL!

Unique colorful walk. Took us 45 minutes to do the long walk with stopping. Nice break from strolling and looking at shops. There are stairs up and down. Not for people with mobility challenges. Good opportunity to bathe in nature.

An excellent little walk starting from the township, which goes through an old Ochre quarry. We were lucky, as we walked through the quarry at evening which brought out the true colours of the Ochre. The walk is relatively easy with few steps along the way. The whole walk took about 45minutes.

Amazing hillside experience that envelope the visitor in rich color and the history of the area. The space offers two possible paths of different lengths. There are also many great viewpoints back toward the town itself. Near the entrance there is a crepe shop and a public restroom. The town is a rich color of red from the nearby quarry and worth exploring for its art galleries and antique buildings. The are other great outlooks at the top of the town.

Beautiful place, easy hike, parking nearby (€4 a day). Recommend taking the longer route to see more of the beautiful ochre colours.

We've seen the Van Gogh exhibition in St Petersburg and Klimpt in Phoenix. This exhibit outdors Klimpt by light years and is better than Van Gogh. Seating is limited but the space is gigantic in comparison. totally amazing!

One of the most unique experiences we had! Combination of space, art and technology is sublime, you can't help it but stand in awe for stories unfolded all around you. We visited Monet / Rousseau show and it was amazing 😁 Parking is a bit tricky, there are many places to park but there are also many visitors so you might lose some time finding parking spot. Also, explore area, there are amazing spots!

Amazing experience with the light display and the music. Why not 5 stars? Two reason traffic and finding a place to park is very hard. Recommend coming early or late evening. 2nd, I feel the show could have done with a bit of commentary to set the scene to help engagement for the children.

A must go to if you’re around this way, inside this quarry such an amazing feat, we had a couple of art displays from Monet and Rousseau in about an hour show, nearly as interesting as the lumieres show in Bordeaux at the submarine bunker I love the way they do this here in France the locations are fantastic

It is not as nice as people can think. But it is well executed, unique and absolutely worth a visit. Plus you are next to the "baux de Provence" so you can combine the visit. It is nice with children even of young age as they are free to move.

Absolutely amazing. The wall were alive with famous paintings that were constantly changing. With the use of visual effects and backed up by sound throughout, I was totally submerged into the whole experience.

Highly recommend visiting to see the wonder of the flamingos! We saw hundreds of them - an awe-inspiring experience. There are a couple of circular walks recommended along well-maintained paths. Parking is just off the road and entrance was very good value. Use some bug spray and seeing some flamingos!

We came here on a trip and we did the smaller walk from 1 to 10 and back out the exit. We saw loads of wildlife, even a beaver! But the highlight of the show was these beautiful and colourful flamingos. I could have spent days at the park just watching and walking and taking my time but we had just short of 2 hours and we did the short walk comfortably enough. Would recommend to go and see the beautiful wildlife.

Definitely recommend this place, amazing views on beautiful birds, very informative and nice walk. Parking was a bit of a hassle, but there is space for everyone, just may need to walk a little. There is a shorter and a longer way, the short one took about 1,5h, longer one was said to be additional 2h. There were very nice tables and benches to rest, huts and observatories, a lunch area and a gift shop. You should definitely come and visit if you are in the area.

Aside from the car parking issue, which has been mentioned by several reviewers, the park was what you'd imagine it to be: a wildlife sanctuary for birds seeking refuge from harsh winters. Watching the flamingoes take flight was mesmerizing - so much so that we spent a good part of our time there watching the birds in the water. Be prepared to allocate time to wander about at a recreational pace. We had allocated one hour, and barely made it through half of the smaller route. That said, we utterly loved the short time spent and wished we had more time to see the park.

As a birder, it is a bit of a weird experience when you first get there (I visited twice in July). You pay a small entrance fee and the park only opens at 09:00. There a basically two sides to the park. One side that feels a bit like a zoo, with as many tourists as flamingo's, herons and egrets (some at less than a meter), and one side that actually are wetlands with bird hides. Despite the weird first impression, I would definitely recommend a visit if you are a birder. I would go back if I ever visit the area again. When I visited (late July) a lot of migratory waders like (spotted) redshanks, godwits, (marsh) sandpipers and a lot of terns (common, little, whiskered, gull billed) were present. Ebird checklists for the area give a good impression of the birds present in the park.

I have long wished to visit the Camargue to see the Flamingos and other wildlife and the Parc Orthinologie was a fantastic place to experience this. It is handily placed to Arles and well set up for visitors of all ages and abilities. Well worth a visit even when you have to travel half way around the world to get there.

An interesting, if slightly disappointing, point of interest. The structure is amazing. A palace and fortress, it commands your attention. However, the interior is sterile. No furniture, tapestries, or frescoes. Only a couple chambers with faded wall coloration. Without the current art exhibition it would be largely colorless. The tour is also relatively short. There must be large sections not accessible to the public. The garden is neat and well cared for, but small. With all this in mind, it is still worth visiting for its historical significance and the architecture. Note: the iPad guidance is quite good. Take time to read the information boards placed throughout the tour. Get tickets in advance online for a timed entry.

The Old Palace (1335–1342) built by Pope Benedict XII and the New Palace (1342–1352) Pope Clement VI, the Magnificent. It's one of the largest medieval gothic buildings in Europe. Seven successive French popes resided here between 1309 and 1377, fleeing the political turmoil and insecurity in Rome, When you enter you get a Histopad which is a handy tablet which you can use to navigate through the building. A nice feature is the historic overlay that you activate by scanning a logos in the different rooms. The overlay then shows the situation as it would be in 1352, the year of completion of the palace and the Papal Conclave and Election of Innocent VI after Pope Clement VI died. The rather dull interiors are brightend a bit by modern art. The garden is small and really not worth the extra money you hsve to pay to visit it. It took me two hours to see all the rooms and climb up to the ramparts to get a view of the surrounding area. Oh, and the taste in the 14th century is different from today. Roasted peacock anyone? And a glass of Chateau-Neuf-du-Pape ?

A disrespectful use of this unique historic monument, reduced to a playground for some contemporary artist. The two stars go for the historic significance of this monument and the indeed impressive structure. Unfortunately, it seemed to us that the team assigned with managing this monument was decided to cut any ties to what they must have considered to be embarrassing art from the era when the Palais was at its finest: they basically degraded the Palais des Papes to an exhibition center of contemporary artist Jean-Michel Othoniel. But just as when I go to the MOMA I don’t expect it to be full of medieval religious art, when I go to the Palace of the Popes I probably don’t expect it to be full of modern art. Fascinating collection of buildings in Avignon detailing the time of the 'Avignon Popes' in France. I found the Histopad guide wasn't particularly helpful, but the rest of the displays were great. Interesting artwork integrated throughout. The gardens were especially nice.

Very interesting. So much better than the crazy tourist traffic and the hundreds of tour groups you have to wade through to see the Sistine Chapel. Low fees, no lines, very little crowding, and amazing history. Definitely a not to miss site. We visited the palace, gardens and bridge.

Particularly impressive. The exhibition was interesting alongside the impressive building. You get a tablet with explanations in adapted language and there are explanations. The signage inside the buildings was a bit problematic and sometimes the tablet got stuck and didn't work well, but overall it was lovely.

Magnificent structure. Steeped in history. There is information in every room. You also get a tablet to read about whatever room your in. Would recommend everyone to visit. The garden are quite small but interesting.

Roman aqueduct, crossing the Gard river. Spectacular and within a beautiful natural setting. Possibility to cross the bridge and enjoy beaches and several points of view. Plenty of easy trecks around the monument.

Our visit to the Pont du Gard on October 8 was absolutely unforgettable. I went there with my friends and together we walked the peaceful paths leading down to the river, surrounded by the golden warmth of the southern French autumn. Before we even reached the bridge, we stumbled upon several strawberry trees— not real strawberries, but Arbutus unedo, also called the strawberry tree. Their fruit looked almost too bright to be real — tiny red, textured berries with a surprisingly sweet and tangy flavor. They turned out to be a wonderful surprise ,something unique and truly delicious. Then, turning a corner, the magnificent Roman aqueduct unfolded before us. The Pont du Gard rises from the landscape like a vision — three tiers of stone arches reflecting perfectly in the clear waters of the Gardon River.Nearly 2,000 years old, it served as part of an aqueduct that once carried water to ancient Nîmes. Even today, it feels alive with history — a triumph of precision and beauty. We spent the afternoon walking along the riverbank, taking in the symmetry, the soft rustle of leaves, and the warmth of the sun against the limestone. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause and breathe, reminding you how enduring human creation can be when shaped with purpose. So much grander than I expected! An incredible feat of engineering from a time before electricity, gas, or diesel power! Thisbis monument to time, craftsmanship and ingenuity. Leave it to the Roman's to leave me impressed. A MUST SEE destination in France.

The Pont du Gard is a towering three-tiered aqueduct bridge built by the Romans in the 1st century AD. Interesting facts we found out about the bridge: • It was built without mortar: the roughly 50,400 tonnes of limestone were cut and fitted so precisely that the blocks hold by gravity and friction alone. • The aqueduct channel that the bridge is part of drops only about 12.6 m over 50 km (~1 in 4,000 gradient) — extremely slight for such a long distance. • Many stonemasons left their marks on the stones: more than 320 “compagnon” marks have been found on the monument, some from as early as 1611. • Over its history the bridge served various roles: after its time as a water aqueduct it became a toll bridge, and later, in the 18th century, a road bridge was built alongside it. • It survived major floods in modern times (1958, 1998 and 2002) which tested its structure — impressive given its age. Getting there & timing: • Located near Vers-Pont-du-Gard in Occitanie, about 20 km from Nîmes. • The site opens around 09:00. Hours vary by season; check official site for current times. • Allow 1.5 to 3 hours, or a full day if you include walks, river time and the museum. It’s hard to imagine something so magnificent and strong is two thousand years old and still standing. The bridge and the surrounding parks and land provided a wonderful place to spend a lovely afternoon enjoying the sun, the outdoors, and understand more about the long history of la République.

Le Pont du Gard is an icon from days gone by from the Roman era. It’s been on my bucket list for years to see. I like it because it represents the great engineering skills that people with little technology could use to build something that will stand through the ages. The site is well setup to handle tourists coming to look at the aquaduct, and the, later built, viaduct. Tourist offices are situated on each side of the river, and one of them has a museum/exposition/cinema/gift shop/ complex. And, walking tours are conducted to the bridge. A good visit. I arrived here on a bus shuttle from Avignon. I hear there is also a shuttle from Nimes, France. Recommended for those interested in area history, architecture, and Roman life.

Such a cute lake—perfect for family fun! The atmosphere is peaceful and great for a day out with the kids. It could definitely use more shade and seating, though. A little more comfort would make this spot absolutely perfect!

Incredibly well preserved Roman amphitheatre in Nîmes, France. It is just like visiting the Colosseum in Rome but it is far less busy and in considerably better condition-- they even still hold events here! My only regret is not being able to see an event in the arena, as I can only imagine this would be spectacular. In any case it is a very worthwhile sight to see in Nîmes

We ticked off a bucket list item today by visiting the Arena in Nimes and it didn’t disappoint. The history of this incredible structure makes you want to go back in time and just see what life was like. It is bigger and more impressive than we expected. As we left we walked through the gift shop and the lovely Agnes (I so hope I have the name correct) chatted with us and told us some other places to go, she was so lovely and proud of this beautiful area! It isn’t just the Arena, it is the entire area, stunning, surprising and full of history, I am so glad I have experienced it.

Beautiful amphitheatre. Make sure you check that there are no ongoing shows at night because you won't be able to enter unless you buy a ticket! I believe until the 18th of August (2025) there are shows every night, Dream of a Gladiator. It was quite nice, for a not too bad a of a price. The theater has now seating on top of the stone seating so definitely takes a way from the actual look of the amphitheatre. Quite impressive and unexpected!

We were there early November and practically had the place to ourselves. What a treat! The free audio guide is an absolute must. Lots of good info in succinct pieces (not overwhelming). So many extra side exhibits to entertain all ages. Dog friendly, too!

We spent about 3 hours exploring this site. It was the reason we came to Nîmes, and we were not disappointed. The view of the city from the topmost row of seats is beautiful, even if climbing up there was a bit vertigo-inducing! The two small enclosed exhibits on the ground floor were interesting, too.

The interior and exterior are beautiful and crowded with tourists. It is recommended to buy tickets online beforehand so that you do not have to queue for the audio guide. We can download the audio guide by QR code and then listen to it by number.

From the 13th to the 18th century, the arena was transformed into a fortress-like residential quarter, housing over 700 inhabitants. In 1786, the internal dwellings were gradually dismantled to restore the monument’s original form. Originally capable of accommodating around 24,000 spectators, the venue now holds approximately 16,000 people for safety and conservation purposes. Amazing place! Friendly and attentive personnel. Well structured and of a good quality audio guide. The drawings on the walls are very well done and storytelling. With a good weather we could also enjoy the open air animation with the Indian houses and their life attributes. And the panoramic video about the history of life attributes the Earth was breathtaking! I really recommend this place for visiting!

Amazing reconstruction of an amazing discovery. Mind blowing story and fantastic representation with an Underground accessible experience. A true wonder of the world. The cafe was delicious and gourmet and the food was so beautiful and made with pride. Delicious!

Really interesting and magnificently presented facsimile of some of the earliest human art - that is to say, cave paintings from more than 20,000 years ago (you can’t visit the original for obvious reasons). The headsets for the main cave are available in several languages, then the additional areas provide interesting background information.

Absolutely worth a visit!!! Great museum, displays & animation. Detailed replica of the oldest known to man unique caves discovered in 1994.

A fantastic and interactive experience, great for kids and adults to experience life 38,000 years ago and a great explanation of the fascinating science they used to date & discover the original site. The reconstruction of the cave is truly impressive. Everything is accessible for wheelchair user. The displays are all in French and English and the food in restaurant is excellent and good value for money.

Just perfect! Absolutely peerless copy of Chauvet - you feel you are there. The tour is great - thought provoking and wild! It is SO worth the entrance fee - we were blown away!!

Fantastic, very touristy nowadays but there are still some hidden gems that are quiet but you’ll need a car to find them (one was through an industrial estate so very hidden). Restaurants are great and people very friendly

This would have been beautiful in the right weather. It was just our luck that we arrived in the height of Summer, at the end of a heatwave and were met with heavy rain and thunderstorms o the water didn't have its famous greenish-blue hue. It is a lovely natural beauty surrounded by mountains.

I was just remembering how much we loved it there last year. My son and I rented bikes and went all around the lake. We also got a pedal boat and took a swim. Saw some young people doing a rope swing jump and did that too. Fabulous.

I took a day trip from Lyon, a great place, I'm sorry I only stayed one day, it's definitely worth 2-3 days! A place not to be missed if you're in the area!

It is a MUST to go, partying, water scakating, swimming and lots of boat cruises around the great lake surrounded by magnificent mountains. 30 min away and your up amongst snowy mountains as early as September.

The food was delicious and the waiters really helpful to translate to English for us. They even had a English menu. The place was warm and the pizza oven in the heart of the restaurant. It felt like an authentic Italian family business.

The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière is one of Lyon’s most iconic landmarks, visible from almost anywhere in the city. Personally, I usually find the interiors of Orthodox churches more spiritual, but this basilica’s interior really amazed me — it’s beautiful and inspiring. The exterior is just as impressive, and the panoramic view over Lyon from the top is fantastic. You can get there easily by tram, or hike up if you prefer (which I’d also recommend). Nearby, the Roman Theatre and archaeological site are free to visit and very well preserved. Both the basilica and the ruins are definitely worth seeing.

Arriving late evening in Lyon, our Uber driver took us here on a quick detour to our hotel ‘because it is so very beautiful, and you guys can see view of Lyon skyline from there’. Indeed it was a beautiful Basilica, majestic even in the dark of night. Indeed it was an impressive view of Lyon. Very grateful of him, blessed his soul. I got the chance to go back the next morning, and although did not got the chance to go inside, my appreciation grew even more about the opportunity to visit. A must go when you are in Lyon. If your hotel is not nearby, they have tram from the city center that stops directly in front.

Beautifully located on top of a hill, and Best to take an Uber to get there. There is also a vista point on the side of the church with great views of the whole city. If you can walk down the hill, you can visit a nice museum with an outdoor Greek theatre. You can also take a short cut and walk the stairs down the hill

Lovely place to visit in Lyon. Get a day ticket for € 6.90 and couple of trains later you are there. Beautiful views of the city (sunset as well). Basilica is amazing. Don't compare it with Vatican however it is grand in its own way.

It is a marvelous place to visit even when you are not Christian. The interior of the basilica Notre-Dame of Fourvière in Lyon, is tremendously high. The walls are astonishing and it drops your mouth down to the floor. I have not taken many pictures inside because my eyes were focused on all the tiny details in each stunning things my eyes would lay eyes on. If one thing to visit in Lyon, it clearly is there and Paul Bocuse Market^^.

What a beautiful basilica one has the pleasure to see, adore and to participate because during our vist a mass was held. The church has an endless history to show, not only in the holy Christian sense but also in its rich architectural designs. A real treat to be there.

Until you take your breath away, what an impressive basilica it is. A great architectural construction. It is definitely worth a visit. And to pray in peace. May St. Mary be vigilant.

Really loved the audio guide that gave great information but was entertaining the way it is done. Took us about an hour and a half to go through and a great picture of the non wine history in Beaune. Especially liked the pharmacie room and the presentation of every day life in those times.

This was definitely the highlight of our visit in Beaune. The building used to be a hospital for poor people and is now very well restored. Entrance fee is Euro 12 - you can book online or pay at the spot. The roof and the building itself are very beautiful but they cannot be seen from outside. You need to purchase a ticket. I am glad we did.

Great place to learn about how medicine was practices since the 15th century. Well restored and well presented. Their audio guide is an excellent teaching and learning tool, especially the “if you would like to learn more” green button.

Step back in time of old style hospital. Magnificent building with a tiled roof you can see best from inside the large courtyard. Well worth the entry fee. Booklet or headphones self audio tour are included with ticket price.

Working for a Hospice charity, I enjoyed seeing the granddad of Hospices in Beaune. This town was caring for the vulnerable from before my country was even discovered. Amazing tour and worth the ticket price to enter.

A must have seen in Beaune. Yes the roof is great. But for me the history of the very old hospital and its foundation fascinates me more. You get an audioguide, which I highly recommand. The tour is about 1 to 1,5 hours. A lot old hospital furnitures and equipment. Entrance was 12€, which is ok for such an historic place!

Cool and iconic in Dijon... easy to find. It's nice to find it without Google maps to make it for Cool... just follow the signs on the street floor.

A modern old town, just follow the golden arrows for sightseeing. The shops are neat and orderly. I saw people slipping after the rain because the floor is slippery. It is recommended to wear shoes a good shoes. There is a restaurant that supports Down syndrome. I recommend you try it.

Palm-sized and polished by countless hands, the little owl carved into Notre-Dame’s wall turns a side lane into a ritual. Touch with your left hand and make a wish; the brass pavement plate with the owl logo marks the stop and small arrows carry you along Dijon’s Parcours de la Chouette. This is the route’s namesake and most photographed moment: modest stone, big civic idea. I like how the trail knits small details to major landmarks - marker, brief engagement, onward wayfinding - so one carving speaks to grander sites across the old town.

Super nice tour especially for kids which are keen on discovering the next owl of Dijon on the way. All nice attractions can be seen on this journey.

Great mid evil city with not a lot of tourists. Great wines from around the region, many fine restaurants and a truly great French market place

Loved randomly following footpath markers to discover iconic landmarks in Dijon. You can buy a €4 map from the tourist office and do it in an organized manner or just set yourself a challenge to see how many you can find on your travels.

I like it - brings good luck if you place your right hand on it :) A tip from a local: Once there, make sure to check the rooftop of the building to the right of the owl, you'll find beautiful owl and cat.. keeping an eye on the city ;) (photo below)

Sooo Beautiful... that words cant express! Visited on Saturday and night time with lights on was a magical experience. All shops and restaurants were open and there was music playing. Such a lively place that was. In the morning you can see the details of building and it had its own beauty. I would recommend visiting the place both in daytime and night time.

There are a couple good food options as well in the Grand Place, and all the streets branching off from it have more food options, chocolate shops, souvenirs, etc. When we went one evening the lights were flickering which was kind of fun to watch. Sometimes in the Place you’ll find some street performers and other excitement going on. It is a good central spot to orient yourself when exploring the city.

The first word that comes immediately to mind this wow! We are fortunate to stage of steps from this site. You stand in the middle and are just in awe by the beautiful architecture and the gilding of the guild buildings. It’s the center of town for a reason. Yes, it’s the seat of government, but it’s also one of the most picturesque city centers imaginable.

WOW! The Grand Place is exactly as it's name sake. And so opulent with gold ✨️ embellishments on the buildings. The perfect gathering place for food & entertainment. I just love 💛 the architecture and the stature of these buildings.... and so will you. Plenty of places to eat, drink and meet people. This is what The Grand Place is all about. We especially loved the BEST Waffles at Waffelin! SOOO delicious 😋

I would’ve loved to know a little more about the history of this boy! But unfortunately not much is known, even the theories are a far few… nevertheless a spot for every tourist visiting for pictures. I do see a lot of guides explaining about the statue and was curious to find out more… it’s close to the grand place and can definitely be included in the city walk.

It is undoubtebly a statue that you want to see when in Brussels because it's gotten so popular for some reason. I really like the idea of this little boy being a national symbol and getting dressed up in different outfits depending on current events. It somehow manages to be both impressive and underwhelming at the same time.

Manneken Pis is the famous statue in Brussels, depicting a young boy urinating. The statue in place right now was put there in 1965 and is surrounded by cameras and fencing due to previous theft and vandalism. I was surprised by the size of the statue when actually seeing it in person — it was tiny and a little underwhelming, and it would be so easy to just walk past it if it wasn’t for the crowds of people standing around. The statue is pretty humorous though, and is only a short walk away from Grand Place, so it’s worth checking out while in Brussels for sure, especially if you can catch it in one of the fun costumes. Unfortunately, during my trip, it was without this.

The statue itself is quite small and, apart from its fame, may not be particularly captivating. However, the surrounding streets and area are delightful, featuring charming sweet and waffle shops. If you happen to visit at the right moment, you might even observe a local group dressing the statue.

A must when near Grand Place. It's easy to miss and it's not that big. Walked by earlier in the day and completely missed it. These pics are at dusk/night so accessible outside of the crowds.

For a tiny little guy, it was fun to see. My grandson and I enjoyed the walk and hunt to find him. So many people from different parts of the world were together and enjoying the experience.

It's a sculptural genius, we had been there just to view it in the evening and walked around in the park nearby. The ambiance is calm and cosy, definitely recommended to visit with friends and family.

The real highlight, though, is the view from the top sphere. On a clear, sunny day, the outlook over Brussels is genuinely stunning. The city stretches out in every direction, and the sunlight reflecting off the metal surfaces adds a bright, almost cheerful atmosphere to the entire experience. It’s definitely the kind of place where the weather can make a big difference, so visiting on a day with good visibility is ideal. That said, the Atomium becomes truly magical at sunset. As the sky shifts from gold to deep blue, the structure’s lights begin to glow, giving the entire monument a soft, dreamlike quality. Watching the city transition into evening from up high is a moment that feels both peaceful and memorable. Whether you're a photographer, a casual tourist, or someone who simply enjoys a beautiful view, sunset at the Atomium is something special. Overall, the Atomium is a unique blend of history, design, and atmosphere—well worth the trip if you haven’t been before.

Spectacular structure. They take you to the top level by elevator where you have a panoramic view of the city. Then you work your way down each atom. In one of the atom, they have light and sound show which is very cool. Finally you come back to the lobby level and gift shop. Overall it was a great experience and highly recommend it when in Brussels. It’s conveniently located close to a train station so you can reach it from any location in the city.

Visiting the Atomium in Brussels was one of those iconic “we have to do it” moments and I’m glad we did! We went on a Sunday without pre-booked tickets, and thankfully it wasn’t an issue. We waited about 15 minutes to purchase tickets and begin the experience. Just a heads-up: the visit is split into two parts, and you’ll receive two separate tickets per person. The first part of the tour takes you up a series of escalators and stairs through the spheres, where you can learn about the history and construction of the Atomium. Most of the informational signs were in French, so we moved through this part fairly quickly, admiring the architecture more than the displays. At the end, you’re guided through the gift shop and outside — which felt a bit confusing, because you then need to rejoin the crowds to continue on to Part 2. The second part involves queuing again inside the building — about 20 minutes for us — before taking the futuristic elevator to the top sphere. The view from above is definitely the highlight, especially if you love snapping photos and videos. There’s also a restaurant at the top, and free restrooms (a lifesaver after all that waiting and cold weather!), but we didn’t have the chance to dine there since we were catching a flight later that day. Once you’re done enjoying the panorama, there’s one more line for the elevator back down — so yes, a bit of a queue-athon overall. 😅 In the end, it was a good experience and I’m happy we visited — the Atomium is unique, quirky, and a standout piece of Brussels history. That said, the flow of the tours could definitely be improved to reduce all the waiting. If you’re planning to visit, be prepared for lines and maybe book ahead if you can, but the views certainly make the effort worthwhile!

This is a very fun and interactive activity for travelers of all ages. There are concurrent and subsequent additional places like other museums that you can attend while here to include “LITTLE EUROPE AS PICTURED”. This place is perfect for gathering souvenirs as well as picture taking which is professionally available and opted to you at the ending of the activity. We did not get to frequent the restaurant at the top due to them only having one section of the restaurant open at the time; however, other reviewers have stated the food is not good.

Getting a ticket online is recommended, as the venue can get quite busy. The presentation collection is impressive, but the view is hidden by coloured glass. However, the breathtaking and impressive stairs with the light show are worth the wait.

Beautiful tourist destination is Brussels, Belgium. There was a steady line of tourists enjoying the beauty of this modernist building. It is an important landmark in Brussels. It was originally constructed as the center piece of the 1958 Brussels Expo. Now it is a museum and an art center. When one stands under it one is likely to marvel at the huge symmetrical structure. The huge globes are interconnected symmetrically giving the building the shape of an atomic structure. Atomium is built in a very beautiful location, surrounded by fine gardens and a nice row of trees.
