Beautiful important archaeological site. The tours are every 30 minutes and they last 1 hour. Tour is available in English too, price is decent and includes the museum in the village ahead of the site and other activities as well. Highly recommended.

UNESCO world heritage. Very interesting historical place to visit. Very good guided tour (eng) at this +1500 years old fortress. Be prepared for narrow and steep walkways within the structure.

Fascinating and a must-see site for all who love ancient history. Well-preserved Nuragic complex dating back over 3,500 years. The central tower (~ 18 meters high) and surrounding village give you a real sense of how advanced the Nuragic civilization was. Narrow passages, spiral staircases, and circular huts show how people lived many years ago. The guided tour was informative and brought the place to life. Included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Please check the time when excursions start to avoid long waiting (especially in English). Highly recommended

Interesting former fort. An archaeological experience although much reconstructed. Tour takes you up the remains and into the narrow tunnels. Inside isn't for information or claustrophobic! Fascinating site and location. Tours are required and run every half hour. Unesco interest.

The past can be touched and felt. Amazing piece of history. The tour guide was very kind and funny. No question left un answered. But note: The pathways inside the tower are really narrow and steep. Good footwear needed ...not for claustrophobic people or when afraid of hights.

It's a good experience since you learn a bit of the history of Nuragis, also the archeological site is quite impressive due to the rock sizes, however, it is a short visit, no museums or any other interactive experience that will explain or show more about the history of Nuragis besides what the guide explains. Short experience, it's worth to visit if you are driving through.

The archaeological site itself is truly impressive and well worth visiting; the problem lies with the tour guide. During the tour, you are required to follow the guide. However, perhaps because it was peak tourist season in August, the guide seemed more like a temporary employee. Her English was fluent, but somewhat unclear, as if she had simply memorized a script. She couldn't understand questions asked in English, and didn't seem to have a deep understanding of the site's history. Her presentation consisted of a few photocopied pictures, and with so many people spread out, it was difficult to hear her. Furthermore, she didn't allow enough time to properly explore and appreciate the site. Even worse, when we wanted to stop for a few minutes to observe and take photos, she rudely refused and abruptly closed the gate (there were no other groups, so there was no issue of overcrowding). She ignored our questions, even when we told her that another family from our group was still behind us, slowly walking along. She offered no response and showed no enthusiasm or passion for the culture. There were many tourists from various countries. It's fair to say that visiting guided tours is a bit of a gamble. During our travels in Sardinia, we visited countless sites and met many enthusiastic tour guides who were passionate about history and culture; we learned so much from them and left with a wealth of knowledge and wonderful memories. However, for this particular tour, had we not done some research beforehand, paying for the guided tour would have been a waste of money and we would have been disappointed.

You only have to buy a ticket to access the beach in the summer, we went in mid-may and didnt have to. Only the parking was paid. There is access to spiaggia impostu and brandici from the same parking lot and surprisingly they are quite different. Brandicci had more shallow waters so you could walk fairly ahead with the water still being knee level. There is a small shed to change and use the toilet in brandicci. The water was really calm when we went.

The beach is nothing like it is presented in the photos. The water has a lot of algae and rocks, and the seabed is not entirely fine sand as shown. On the shore, there are many branches and trash, which makes it less enjoyable than expected.

really beautiful beach, I see what all the hype is about as the sand is white and water is clear. however, given you have to pay for both entry and parking, in my opinion the coast has nicer beaches that are less crowded. still worth the experience

Beautiful water, wonderful view, €2/person for entry, so many people and the beach/sand area is quite narrow. No regular towels are allowed. Only microfiber, plastic or polyester picnic blankets or reed mats. The beach police will 100% check what you laying on because you cannot take sand out of the beach. Very strict rules. Basic restaurant on site, and the GPS had a very hard time to find the main entrance. You need to look for a huge rock on the side of the road saying Cala Brandinchi

It’s the 3rd time for us visiting this beach, after 2020 and 2023 and we loved it this time even more. It is just a beautiful setting. Yes it is crowded, yes it is expensive but you know this already by the need for a reservation. My advice is to go early (preferably before 10) and walk north and you won’t have a problem in finding a spot.

Ah, Cala Brandinchi – affectionately known as Little Tahiti, though I suspect Tahiti might file a defamation claim if it saw the place this summer. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the sheer vibrancy of the beach. Not the turquoise water or the golden sand, mind you, but the dazzling array of umbrellas, inflatable flamingos, and the occasional elbow to the ribs. It’s a rare talent to make one feel nostalgic for the peaceful serenity of a rush-hour subway in Milan. The beach itself is… how shall I put it… rich in texture. Every few meters you’ll find delightful surprises: an empty plastic bottle here, a half-buried chip bag there. It’s almost like a scavenger hunt curated by Poseidon himself. For marine life enthusiasts, this is the place to be. Forget aquariums — here, you can witness the majestic Sardinian shark (photographic evidence included). Truly thrilling, especially when one is still in the water. As evening approached, I discovered that leaving the beach with one’s dog can be quite an odyssey. Between the labyrinth of sunbeds and the scent of melted sunscreen, one wonders if Odysseus himself ever tried to find his way back to the car park. And let us not forget the mysterious sea creature that emerged from the depths — an elderly gentleman dressed as a mermaid. I can’t say whether he was a local legend or a performance artist, but I do applaud his commitment to aquatic authenticity. All in all, Cala Brandinchi is the perfect destination for those who enjoy chaos with a touch of mythology. Come for the crowd, stay for the confusion. Five stars for entertainment, two for actual relaxation.

Interesting quick visit. Super cute to see pipistrelli bats. They lend you a torch. €3 entrance. Not a lot to see immediately but you could hike from here I guess

A well conserved and interesting place. The place is being managed by archeologists and they are doing a good job. Tickets are 3,50 per person, or 5 with audio.

Really nice Nuraghe, takes some minutes to walk to from parking lott. Just before the site there is a restaurant. The excavation site was informative. We got a flashlight to see mini bats in one of the rooms in the Nuraghe. Very friendly staff. Recomended

Very cool site depicting the ancient history of Sardinia and it's inhabitants. Well preserved and complete, well documented and easy to find. The caretaker is very knowledgeable and speaks English. Admission for children is free and adults are only €3 each.

We enjoy this beach. It is on the smaller side paying parking lot walking distance. We were here before the summer not as crowded. Beautiful clear water, there is a beach club walking distance for drinks food and more $$$-$$$$. If you need to use the restroom they do charge $1 Euro for to use it unless you eat at the drink bar or rent the lounge and umbrellas. This beach is good for couples, somewhat families with older children. The only downside the constant annoyance of beach sellers.

Amazing water for snorkeling and swimming; gets busy and crowded very quickly. The Best time is early morning. Parking is not too big, so if you come after 9.30, you might not find a car parking space. There is a small beach on the left hand side and two beaches on the opposite side. It’s very nice and definitely worth visiting!

A wonderful place to visit with a low draft sailing boat. The permit cost is 40% cheaper for sailing boats, which is logical and we appreciate that. Powerboats are noisy and generate pollution. The park has hundreds of places where to anchor, pristine and ecologically sound. The park authorities obviously do a good job!

After spending some days at Capo Testa, where we enjoyed snorkeling and discovering a reach underwater life, we decided to take a boat trip to the Maddalena National Park. We were full of expectation, thinking how wonderful it may be snorkeling there. Sailing with the wind in a small crew was a good start, but the the stop at the first cove was very disappointing: we were expected to swim between moving boats, so we risked to see nothing, life under water almost not existing. We were told that since it is September now there is less nautic trafic, but we witnessed every kind of boats coming from all directions and very close to the coves. We anchored in a more quiet and less touristic cove but again underwater life very poor. The day was at the end pleasant because of sailing and a nice skipper and the visit to the Cala Rosa, which is really protected, but we understood that the National Park is not a place to protect nature rather it is a place to make money, a LunaPark for reach tourist. I hope things will change and more ecologic tourism, which still advantage local people, will develop. Instead of taking a boat trip, please look for nice caves along the cost and you will have more fun and save money!😊

Beautiful landscape. Best is island Caprera which is connected to La Maddalena with a bridge. You can do nice walks in the national park.

Extremely clear and turquoise water. It's good to rent a pneumatic boat alone around 270 euros / day in August. From Palau you can walk about an hour to the interesting beaches and the pool area

Fantastic place to trek and enjoy beaches. The granite natural sculpture and the abandoned lighthouse make this place surreal. Plenty of option and also you could spot some of the locals ( 🐐) climbing 😁. I would say is difficult with small kids due to access to the beach is quite rocky

Really impressing rocks & worth a visit! Parking not so easy and the trails need some hints where to go. The beach directly at Capo Testa is a unique place, but extremely crowded - and hard to reach (some „climbing“).

Capo Testa is great for a walk to discover the rock formations sculpted by the wind. But it is also great for a swim. There are two sides, on one side a long strip of sand and the other a couple of hidden small creeks with some sand. We chose the later for its peaceful nature and crystal clear water. Parking could be a big issue during the high season. While you come on the road and see some cars, park, don’t go further thinking you will find something. You won’t.

Absolutely stunning beach , the water is crystal clear and the backdrop of tees around the bay is glorious. Some fabulous beaches bars too. We recommend La Plage and Le Fort. The downside is it gets super busy in peak season. If you have to go in August go early morning, if you are lucky enough to go late September, you will be in paradise !

The beach consists of a long narrow strip of fine clean sand (between 10m and 30m in width), skirting a bay of very shallow clear water which extends at least 50 m from the shoreline. The setting is hardly spectacular but the peninsula making up the South side of the bay provides a pretty backdrop. On a fine sunny weekday afternoon towards the end of September the beach was busy, but not oppressively so. All the usual water sports/activities were available and the beach is also a drop-off/pick-up point for cruises along the coast. Various bars - none very special - are dotted along the central part of the beach, closest to the parking areas. Was it quiet or romantic : no, would it be a fine place for small children to paddle in the water : emphatically yes. In line with the reports from other reviewers, I can easily imagine that it would be an absolute zoo in July and August.

Great beach in the south of Corsica. Very overrated in my opinion. Very expensive ar park, flat rate 10 pounds. A lot of bars on the beach which kind of ruins the experience. It can be quite crowded as well. Clean water lovely views. Great for kids.

Beautiful clean water, with some parts more crowded than others. Parking for free is tricky, better either choose a beachclub if you plan to eat anyways (parking fees will be deducted), or there are large cheap parkings at the north eastern end.

A must see in the south of Corsica. When we went it was raining but the sea water was still warm. Easy access, cheap parking and lovely bar on the beach. Overall a great beach.

And then you have to walk 600 meters downhill and coming back to the car is a real training. There is one bar and one restaurant with prices for Space tourism

I went there very much at the end of the season. No problem parking plenty of place on the beach. Temperature was perfect for me. Could still get a drink. I appreciate others may have different experiences if they go in July or August but has to be one of the most stunning beaches in France.

Wonderful sand beach with convenient parking. Came at around 11 in the morning and it was not a problem to park car in the shade of pine trees. And parking is free! Beach itself goes alongside, walk further and it will not be crowded at all. Crystal clear and shallow water, stones to make insta pics, bars everything is there! The best beach for us visited in Corsica! Recommended!!!

At 11am, we’ve ordered 2 cappuccinos at an almost empty restaurant. We were served two cups of warm milk with barely dissolved instant coffee or similar substance floating on top although they have an espresso machine. Upon politely asking whether our order was misunderstood, we were informed in no uncertain terms that “chez nous le cappuccino est comme ça”. Best avoided.

Absolutely loved it! I hadn't spend that much time in a museum. They displayed several objects, machinery and tools used in the Corsican daily life of the last century. The history of the beautiful Cittadella is well explained and it's accessible only through the museum.

This informative and enjoyable ethnographical museum showcased the life of the Corsican people. The audio-guide in multiple languages was a great addition, enhancing the experience. The comfortable environment, with good air and AC, made it a pleasant visit. The polite and friendly staff further contributed to the positive atmosphere. The ticket price of 5.5 euros per adult was reasonable. The museum also delved into the lives of women on the island, providing valuable educational insights. Included in the ticket was the opportunity to explore the citadel, adding to the overall experience. Overall, it was great and recommended visit. 😊

It is a nice museum founded in old fortress, but there is one problem. All in french, There is a lot to see of old Corsican Life, how they lived centuries ago. And the ticket was only 3€ so that is a plus. From museum you can follow the path to the old castle.

The museum itself may not be quite interesting but it is the way to go to citadel which has magnificent views. Best to take train from Corte railway station. Park your car for free there. Museum will be half price (2.5 euros per person) with train tickets (7.5 euros per person)

I would not go to Corte just for this museum but if you are here for other reasons, the cheap ticket definitely makes it worth a short visit. I found at least three very very interesting items in the museum and a tour of the fortress is rather enjoyable. (5 euro)

I was looking forward to our six and a half hour journey from Bastia to Nice on Corsica Ferries, but I must admit it turned out to be a terrible experience. The staff were extremely unhelpful and miserable. It was as if they were being made to work and didn't want to. Their attitude was abysmal. The food, which I expect to be expensive on a ferry, truly was expensive with a 500ml bottle of still water costing €2.90. The music on the sundeck was far too loud and someone somewhere kept flicking from track to track part way through a song. The dreadful music is not necessary in this day and age where passengers can choose to listen to what they like on their smartphones. All in all I'm glad I won't be travelling with Corsica ferries ever again.

The worst crossing ever with this company on Mega Express 5. The personnel were unprofessional and unhelpful. The smell of sewage throughout the accommodation was overpowering. The staff in the Gusto restaurant overcharged for drinks and refused to reimburse the difference. No more than theft. They refused to call a supervisor when requested. The vessel is old and in very poor condition. Flooring is filthy, cabin in need of repair and the structure on the car decks showing signs of cracks.

My suggestions for improvement: The staff on the Livorno ferry could definitely be friendlier. A more polite manner and greater willingness to assist would significantly enhance the travel experience. The ferry seems to be in an outdated condition and requires renovation. New carpets, chairs, and overall modern furnishings would uplift the onboard ambiance. If dogs are allowed on board, appropriate facilities should be provided for them. Artificial grass and clean disposal options for dog waste would be a welcome improvement. The conditions of the onboard sanitary facilities are unacceptable. Cleanliness and hygiene should be top priorities and urgently improved. Surveys should inquire about the status of the pool if it is actually in operation. The information should be current and relevant. The website is also in need of improvement to better inform customers about the services and the condition of the ferry. The Wi-Fi code didn't work, which was a frustrating experience. Likewise, the booked Express Boarding did not function as expected. My opinion on the crossing: Overall, my experience on this ferry was disappointing. The staff's rudeness, the poor condition of the facilities, non-functional Wi-Fi, and the disappointing Express Boarding all marred the experience. The cabins were acceptable, and I appreciate the honesty of the staff when my wallet was found in one of the cabins. Boarding in Bastia went smoothly, and the staff there were more polite. Nevertheless, there is an urgent need for improvements on this ferry to justify the high prices. The information on the website should be updated to better inform future passengers and avoid disappointments.

Ferry from Nice to Bastia was nice. Onboarding was super fast. Room was clean , food was ok. It was quite fast. We reached quite fast, less than 9 hrs. Overall really good experience

Set off late by about 20 minutes and arrived at Bastia port on Corsica at about 1 am instead of 11 pm, but the voyage was smooth and the sunset was awesome.

I took the ferry to Bastia and back. 1. The WiFi does not work at all. DON'T PAY FOR IT 2. The bathrooms were extremely FILFTHY they are not cleaned during or between the trips. It was absolutely disgusting. 3. Smell of diesel was everywhere I almost vomit.

We went to Plage Saleccia after seeing Bodri Beach, and this one is also lovely with soft white sand and very clear water. It was a bit busier though, with more boats, yachts and people around, so it didn’t feel quite as calm. It calmed down in the late afternoon as people were starting to take the return boats. We got there by boat, which was nice. Just a small tip: book early enough, and if you use GetYourGuide it’s worth checking with the operator directly to make sure your ticket is in order.

Just an amazing beach! The sand is superb, the water is azure, and the wind is calm. However, you can't really get there easily: the "road" is 6 euro and if you don't have a tall 4x4 it's better not to go there. On the beach there's no toilet or change room, so be ready to share some of your secrets. It's not a lot of people, though.

Much better than the Lotu beach for sure. Nicer to swim and enjoy the beach with less people. The trip back with zodiac was also a nice occasion, for which it's kind of a must for the return.

Fantastic beach. I like the way to get there. There is no road. But with a motorcycle or a 4x4 car you can get there. The beach is very clean. The sand is fine but not more fine than on the other side like at Bastia. You can be shure that everyone on this beach has made a special effort to come here. There are sometime cows on thr beach. The cows like to play with some visitors. This plage is one of the most difficult to get there.

Nice beach, but nothing ‘special’, loads of nice beaches in Corsica that do not require an hour off-road driving (10 kms) to get too! A nice sandy long beach, but the snorkeling was disappointing. Maybe a visit by boat would be the best option.

This beach is extraordinary special and located very nice. The scenery is just great. Clear water and white sand makes you feel like in the Caribbean. During the main season it's often crowded, but still worth a visit. You can go by 4 wheel drive from Casta or by boat from St. Florent. Or by your own car, and without 4 wheel drive it will take some hours to do down the earth road. Close to the beach there's the famous camping site and on the other end of the beach a very nice beach restaurant hidden in the pines. Definitely with a visit.

One of Corsica’s finest beaches—and worth every bit of effort to reach it. Getting there isn’t easy, but it is doable with a standard rental (we managed in an Opel Corsa). Allow roughly 45 minutes for the drive; the road is bumpy, rocky, unpaved in most places, and requires slow, careful navigation but the standard ride height is enough for this road (full cover recommended tho) Your reward? Sweeping turquoise water, powder-soft sand, and the unforgettable sight of white cows lazing right on the shoreline. A small beach bar serves snacks and cold drinks; card payments are accepted for purchases over €20. Tip: start early to avoid the midday rush, and keep an eye on your fuel—there are no services along the final stretch. Enjoy the adventure and the view!

Iconic, Beautiful, and Worth the Hype (Visited in September 2025) I visited the Leaning Tower of Pisa in September 2025, and it was every bit as impressive as I hoped. Seeing it in person — slightly tilted yet perfectly balanced — was surreal. The weather was warm and sunny, perfect for walking around the Piazza dei Miracoli and taking photos without feeling rushed. Climbing the tower was an unforgettable experience. The marble steps are worn and slanted from centuries of use, and as you ascend, you can actually feel the lean — it’s both thrilling and slightly dizzying! The view from the top is absolutely worth it, offering panoramic views of Pisa and the surrounding Tuscan landscape. The area can be busy with tourists, but if you go early in the morning or later in the afternoon, it’s much quieter. The cathedral and baptistery nearby are also stunning and definitely worth exploring. Overall: A must-see once in your lifetime. Before I went to visit, I thought it would be overrated, old and uninteresting, but when I got there, I was completely wowed! The tower and surrounding buildings have been maintained in such a pristine way that they look like they were built last week. For a building that is over 850 years old, it sure has aged well. The scale and lean of the tower is unbelievable and cannot be felt from pictures. This is a must visit when you are in Italy. It is truly a majestic sight.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is an absolute blast to visit! Seeing it in person is way more impressive than any photo, and the tilt is even more dramatic up close. The best part? Getting creative with photos! We had so much fun “holding it up,” pretending to push it over, leaning against it, or even putting it in an ice cream cone — endless silly opportunities for memories and laughs. The surrounding Piazza dei Miracoli is beautiful too, with the cathedral and baptistery making the perfect backdrop. Even just walking around and soaking in the architecture is a treat. Tip: bring your camera and a playful attitude — it’s all about the fun angles and perspective tricks. Crowds can get busy, so a little patience helps to get your perfect shot. Iconic- such an amazing view. I loved this place but so crowded. I would recommend visiting the museum next to the tower of Pisa to get an amazing view with minimal people spoiling your photos. Also there is a restaurant in this museum and you get a stunning view. Recommend climbing the tower of Pisa that was amazing make sure you are willing to climb as can be tiring. Trainers recommended for the climb.

Had a lovely time here. The tower itself has a beautiful view when you're at the top. The steps are slippery tho so be careful aspecially when walking back down. The cathedral is gorgeous also on the inside. We bought tickets that included entree to all buildings and museums and also walked the walls of pisa all the way (which was quite long). Definitely recommend visiting and also going inside.

The building was amazing but everything else lacked in excitement. There was only one fountain open to obtain water to drink. Nothing else was open. I was under tge influence that there was access to the hot springs for wading but that wasn't the case. I did catch a local orchestra practicing. Honestly, that was the highlight of that visit

It will give you a set time for the Leaning Tower on day of purchase, while you have a year to visit all other locations! This something This place is simply spectacular. The architecture is massive and incredibly impressive—pictures don't do it justice. Inside, it’s a masterpiece of art and history, packed with stunning stained glass and biblical details. My top recommendation: definitely buy the ticket to go up to the top. Walking around the exterior and seeing the views from above is the highlight of the trip. Totally worth the wait!

This is how beautiful it can be in Pisa, this small fantastic cosy city with it’s unbeatable charm. I walked the street and tje wall, everything was almost as a dream, I met fantastic people, I saw buildings that almost made me faint, it was like I was hit by Stendahls Syndrome. Pisa is a MUST city and the Tower area is the symbol of great architecture with classical style and grace. I’ll ne back!

From the moment you enter through the gate, you’re surrounded by breathtaking architecture and a truly positive atmosphere. The intricate details of the icons and sculptures inside are stunning, and every corner of the square feels rich with history and beauty. An unforgettable experience

It's true you can't go far in Italy without running into history and this is no exception. Using viator, ITaly, lime (scooter rental), the world is your oyster. In your typical basilica, cathedral or place of worship related to Catholicism. The walls will be lined with this stations of the cross, not the duomo. It's its walls were lined with apostles and followers of Jesus. Make sure you catch the show output at noon.The bells ring the mechanical figures put on a lovely show in the piazza. If you're interested, pay a visit to the museum located on-site as well as the cript.

Obviously I don't need to give you introduction to the place. There is dress code girls take a scarf with you to cover your shoulders or thighs. It is important to dress appropriately for a visit to a church, with rules against shorts and bare shoulders.

While in Pisa to see the Leaning Tower we went inside Cattedrale di Pisa. The beauty of design shows throughout the church. I lit a candle for a Catholic friend and walked around looking at all of the fine details. During our visit we could see the roof being replaced. Definitely a place you should stop and view if and when you make it to Pisa.

Such a beautiful place. We were lucky that the choir began singing while we were on the upper level and the acoustics were incredible. The sound seemed to come from every direction at once. The building is well maintained and the crowds not bad at all. Don't just come to see the tower. This chapel is a must visit

A beautifully designed baptistery with impressive acoustics and elegant Romanesque-Gothic architecture. The interior is simple yet majestic, and the echo demonstration is a lovely highlight for visitors.

Didn't have a time for visit this place but from pictures i saw it seems quite empty inside and very simple. From outside its quite impressive though, 55 m high and 107 m in circumference, one of the largest in the World. Echo inside is very unique and its worth to hear the crew demonstration of this exquisite acoustic every 30min.

The Baptistery of Saint John (Italian: Battistero di San Giovanni) is a baptistery in Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa. It is an outstanding monument of Italian Romanesque and Gothic architecture and sculpture. Construction began in 1152 and was completed in 1363. Chronologically, it is a later structure than the Pisa Cathedral and an earlier one than the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

It was a great place to see along with the rest of the monuments in the plaza. Fair warning, beware of the people selling things that are not at a stand. If the police are walking around they will hide what they are selling and close their bags and head the opposite direction. It is really comical. The building itself has a lot of history and the inside is beautiful.

Included in the ticket price for €27 there was little to no queue and no timed entry so very easy to explore ,, the stairs to the first floor are a bit difficult to locate.. they’re immediately left as soon as you enter

Riding the funicolare to the top of the mountain is totally worth it!! While you are up there- explore the small medieval village! The view is fabulous! 👍❤️

It was a fun, relaxing ride, you have plenty of information available on the spot regarding its history an elevation angles. And the view from Montecatini Alto is magnificent. The funicular program makes it hard to miss the experience (it is open until 24.00).

The journey is gentle and slow enough to be able to enjoy the view. Staff were friendly and a return ticket is €7. We enjoyed our visit to Montecatini Alto, there are several small shops and a central square with restaurants, a bar, and Gelato shop. lots of outdoor seating and shade in a medieval village.

If you're in Montecatini then you should visit Montecatini Alto using the Furnicular! This is the mountain Railcar that takes you up to the small town with big views! Trains run every 30mins all day and night (not overnight) and tickets cost €7.50

A lovely little ride up/down the mountain in a historic funicular car. The cost for a round-trip/return ticket is €7.50, and the cars run on the hour and half-hour until midnight (see the attached schedule). Walking up the Alto is quite a trek (I did it and was certainly out of breath by the top), so save yourself the trouble and take this!

A historical and beautiful bridge right on the side of the road in the mountains. If you're in or around Lucca and planning to see some mountains and nature, I'd recommend having a quick stop at Ponte della Maddalena. Parking is easy on the east/right side of the Bridge. Not too crowded when visiting in the middle of the day. If you're also looking for a pitstop or a quick lunch, three small osterias/restaurants are right next to the bridge.

A bridge that captures history, has many story's and is an architectural delight. We try to pass by a few times a year to relive the history of days gone by.

We didnt had the chance to get a better view because of the rainy weather. But definitely it is a a nice place to visit.

If you want to visit the cave I would recommend to book the tour in advance or at least call them up the day before. We arrived to the town where the information desk was at 12:00 and were informed the last group had already left on the bus to see the cave at 11:00. For some reason, they had they last guided tour at 11am, which was extremely strange and there was no info on their website that said that prior reservation was required. It took us an hour to get to the place, so we were obviously a little disappointed. It could have been a great experience, but alas. Make your reservation ahead of time!

This is out of the beaten path attraction. You park near the ticket office and reach the cave by a bus (included in the tickets). You can only enter with a guided tour of about 2-2.5 hours. You can combine it with a 45 minute tour to the mercury mine nearby. Not all guides are fluent in English, but you can check this with the park by emails (and reserve a spot). There is a small kiosk at the cave entrance.

The guide knew was he was talking about. There is no more audioguide for non Italian speakers. The guide will do both language, which is a considerate and good thing. The downside is we sometimes couldn't hear because we were too far behind. There is not much time to appreciate the last part of the cave since we must follow the group. Overall it was still a nice experience

A very enjoyable trip! The scenery is stunning, with picturesque villages and beautiful coastal views. We did one of the hiking routes, which was both fun and rewarding. It can get quite crowded around the train stations, especially during peak times, but overall it was a great experience and definitely worth visiting.

Not recommended! 💧 Hydration is crucial, bring enough water, especially in warm weather. ⸻ 2️⃣ Vernazza • Probably the most photogenic village. • Small harbor, narrow streets, perfect for a break or some gelato. ➡️ Hike Vernazza – Corniglia, 1h30 – 2h. • Similarly demanding trail with elevation changes and sunny sections. ⸻ 3️⃣ Corniglia • Village perched on a cliff, no direct beach access. • Climb the Scalinata Lardarina (370 steps) or take the local shuttle bus. • Quieter atmosphere, ideal for a coffee break. ➡️ Options: ✔️ You can continue hiking to Manarola, but the trail is often closed or challenging. ✔️ A good idea can be to take the train to Manarola, especially if it’s hot. ⸻ 4️⃣ Manarola • Romantic, famous for sunsets and local wines. • Perfect dinner spot with a sea view. We had a great dinner at Tony’s, stunning view and perfect seafood. ➡️ Via dell’Amore trail Manarola – Riomaggiore: • Entrance fee is 10 €/person. It’s. It included in the Cinque Terre Train Card as we though. :) • Easy, scenic walk with stunning views. • If you don’t want to pay, taking the train is a quick alternative. ⸻ 5️⃣ Riomaggiore • Charming harbor, rocky beach, steep narrow streets. • Great for a final stop or sunset photos. ➡️ Return by train to La Spezia or Monterosso. ⸻ 🍇 Insider Tips from Real Experience: ✔️ Be ready for lots of stairs and uneven terrain. ✔️ The sun can be brutal on long exposed stretches, especially midday. ✔️ Stopping at bars or small terraces in the vineyards, like we did, is perfect to rest – amazing views, a glass of local wine or a cold lemonade makes all the difference. ✔️ Don’t underestimate the trail – it’s accessible, but requires basic fitness and proper footwear. ⸻ 🎟️ Tickets & Logistics: • If you plan multiple train rides between the villages, get the Cinque Terre Train Card. • If you only need 1–2 rides, single tickets are enough.

Le Cinque Terre are beautiful to see and can also be relaxing, especially for people who live in the city and relish some fresh air by the sea or enjoy panoramic walks. Nevertheless, the villages are thronged with tourists virtually all year round, making them crowded and extremely commercial. The locals have exploited the situation by inflating prices and included ridiculous tarrifs where not necessary. This is especially true for the famous Via del Amore between Rio Maggiore and Manarola: the price for the walk is €10 - understandable for the extensive works done on the path, BUT this price only applies IF you have already obtained the Cinque Terre pass at a minimum added value of €7.50. Another letdown is with the famously colourful buildings, so vibrant and lively in pictures, but actually mostly ill-kept and in need of maintenance. Do visit these places, as they are all equally charming and picturesque, but their tag is on the expensive and touristy side.

We took the train from La Spezia to visit all 5 the little villages. Every village has its own charm. Absolutely stunning views, great vibe, and awesome cultural experience.

A wonderful place for hiking, though it’s pretty challenging in places; especially if you show up in the middle of a heatwave, as we did. Lovely villages (especially Vernazza and Monterosso) and terrific coastal views to enjoy. We found that being based at nearby La Spezia was cheaper, convenient, and a little more ‘authentic’…..Levanto would probably work, too.

Great way to see/visit Cinque Terre. Take a small boat tour out of La Spezia, easiest to book online. Our 7 hour day trip included 2 swimming stops, 1-1/2 hour stop for lunch in one of the villages, knowledgeable tour captain, and snacks and drinks on our boat. We went in late May and paid 135 euros/person.

I spent two days here, which wasn't enough time, but it's all I had. We managed two hikes and really enjoyed it. Take lots of water with you and some electrolytes if you can! We did manage to see all 5 towns and La Spezia too. Lots of good food and gelato!

Sitting high up on the hill in Montallegro, this is the first thing you see when you arrive via the Cable Car. It's just a short 10 min stroll to the church which is very pretty on the outside and highly decorated on the inside. A little more modern than other churches we have witnessed in surrounding towns and there are many tributes and photographs of loved ones who have past. They also have a gift shop if you feel the need to make a purchase.

We took the Tram up the the church, nice views. Its very peaceful amd you could contunue hiking around the back. There is also a restaurant behind the church. Inside the church locals were lighting candles and the ceilings were painted with bible stories. It seems this church serves as a sort of place of remembrance for deceased members, as silver hearts are hung everywhere. A small room in the back contains a miniature of the Church.

Really mesmerizing. Beautiful pictures, Well maintained. A divine and unique atmosphere to spend some spiritual time . Dedicated to Our Lady of Monteallegro😇 There's a beautiful presipio( christmas crib) And a sanctuary besides, dedicated to St .Joseph and Mother Mary .

Wonderful weel kept Castle. From renovations. to 1800 renovations. Very interesting to see all the indise rooms, kitchen, cold storage, torture room. Eat downtown some very good restaurants.

Impressive medieval castle on a hilltop over a village. It's BIG and just after the holiday season it was almost deserted. We spent an hour or two roaming the ramparts, the many rooms (including a fascinating exhibition of 29th century socialist paintings) - and yes, the torture dungeon as well. We were pleasantly surprised to be left to roam the place on our own accord. The view of the valley from the ramparts is stunning.

Very interesting place with great views on the surroundings of Bardi. They definitely put a lot of interesting things to see inside those historic walls. When we were there a very interesting art exposition took place at the castle, worth to check out the rich programme throughout the year.

We were told that the castle wasn't much to look at. Being our first castle, it was fantastic. The view is incredible. There is a torture chamber. You can almost feel the people being tortured. Great experience. I can't imagine what castles the person who told us this was just ok has visited. This one was well worth the trip.

Wonderful castle with a gorgeous view and multiple things to visit : local craftmanshi museum, hunting museum, princes house, dungeon… and everything is included in the entrance fee. The restauration of the castle is really good (you can visit almost everything) and well suited for little middle aged fans.

Really cool and big castle. I truly recommend you to visit it, have a dinner in the restaurant “Le Due Spade”, buy some meat near the castle in the small meat-shop in the street, which leads you to the castle. And as well i recommend you to meet the sunset. It’s amazing!

Really cool historic bridge with a stunning view. We parked outside the town, just next to the bridge. There's nothing much around, but it was worth the hour drive for us.

Beautiful place, in fact the village has been awarded as the most beautiful village in Italy couple of years back. I fully agree with that! Since we went on Xmas day, there were literally nobody around. The drive through the hill (last 10-15mins of drive) is bit difficult since the width of the road is just enough for one vehicle. But with almost no traffic, seems to be ok. I love to visit the tourist places when it is empty, and I am glad I picked the Xmas day for the visit. There is a restaurant near this bridge, but was closed. The village also was very quite. Just my kind of place!

Amazing medieval bridge below which is an area of river perfect for swimming. Lots of families, my children had a great time swimming about looking at the fish. Some shade under the arches of the bridge, recommend taking a picnic.

Great old bridge that you can walk from(into Bobbio. Also, it's possible to have a swim nearby, or cool your feet off

Historic Bridgestone with nice view. Good for stopover if you are driving through.

This old Roman bridge is worth a stop and walk over. Anyway if you want to take a nice pic you need to get to the other side. It's one if those places you can almost feel the history.
