A very nice place to walk around and watch big animals.

Well organized zoo with a lot of great variety of animals along with detailed explanations for each and every animals habitat scientifically. All details are available in Russian and English, as well as for visually impaired people. A must-see zoo when you are in Izhevsk.
Ibrahim M — Google review
I was amazed to see different species of animals together. The Zoo has species of animals from Asia to Africa. A perfect place for children to visit. It was a very charming experience. Highly recommend people to visit and enjoy the nature.
Mohsin A — Google review
I don't like places like this. I've been there once with a little sister of mine, but I wouldn't go there alone. No way. I don't wanna pay to see how other beings are suffering. For me it's almost the same as slaughterhouse but it's just more stretched in time,
Ramil U — Google review
Not a fan of zoos. Animals looked weak and the monkey enclosures were very cramped. What are those African monkeys doing here? Meerkats' enclosure was very small.
Deepesh S — Google review
It's nice but doesn't really have all the animals, Just few animals are available there like lion, lioness, tiger e.t.c

Riviera Aquapark is a diverse and fun destination suitable for visitors of all ages, from children to retirees. It offers a variety of activities and amenities, including open pool areas with massage beds that provide an enjoyable experience even in winter. The park features well-organized facilities with numerous games, restaurants, bars, hookah lounges, and saunas.
Fun, diverse. Many different throats for everyone, from children to retired people. We went with my son for 12 years and my parents, everyone was having fun all day. I like it very much in winter on the open part of the pool with massage beds, the sensations are steep. If you come to the opening - the first hour and a half or two will be generally cool, the people are not very much. And in the evening after 8 excellent.
SUPER S — Google review
Great water park. Stayed in the room. Payment for the room includes a visit to the water park, which is very convenient - there is no queue and a visit to the Ferris wheel. I did not like the attitude of the guard on the street. Arrived by car. He asked the guards where to park, the guards replied that now some big people are now in the hotel so they won’t be able to park. After they arrived at the reception they asked what was the problem with parking. They answered that there were no problems and found a place. Listening to lies was not pleasant at a hotel of this level.
Google review
Very nice water park with a beautiful view of Kazan. The food is okay but the beer is fairly priced and nice & cold.
Gary F — Google review
I expected more from this place - to be honest. It is mostly very crowded because not only people from Hotel Riviera come there (for Hotel guests its free entrance) but also people from outside come. A lot of families with small kids - for the kids it surely is a kind of water-wonderland. You have to wait quite some time to get your turn on the different slides they have - although they are a nice fun. They also offer massage, Finnish sauna, Russian banya and Hamam (but all of them not hot enough for my taste). Real good thing is that you ha e a basin that has a connection to the outside - which is especially nice in winter times. You can get food and drinks at some different places too - but don't expect real high quality kitchen. Best time to go there is after 20.30PM - the place is open until 23.00PM - in the evening there are less people and kids.
Felicien B — Google review
Hotel is located riverside, you can see Kazan Kremlin from your hotel. One of the largest Gym with all equipment and trainers to guide you. Staff is humble and professional. They might have to give English training to all the staff members.
Ashfak S — Google review
The hotel guest has a free pass to water park with a number of pipes, basins and sauna. You always know how to spend your evening. Open until 23:00.
Google review
I'll always remember this place . Every thing is well organised. Many games . There are restaurants. Bar. Hookah. Sauna . I think you'll find there every thing you ever wanted . Just remember to take a waterproof camera with you . I recommend this park for every one.
Houssameddine P — Google review
This park is very fun and well kept. However, I was expecting more of a thrill from the water slides, but overall they were ok.

(Translated by Google) The apartment we rented was a minute's walk from the Arbat and the Kremlin. On the first day we dropped our bags and went to look. There weren't a lot of people, which was nice. No one intruded, and we avoided horses and donkeys for photos. The lively scene only captivates you and you have time to turn your head in different directions. There are many establishments from inexpensive to quite expensive. There is something and someone to take a photo with. They gave brochures, but not intrusively. There is a lot to take a walk and see. On the last day we took the metro to the Ring shopping center - Tukay Square, and walked back and rested, leaving tomorrow. On the first day, we also saw people relaxing on benches🤦 it was already at ten o’clock in the evening, the police were not seen. Everything was civilized, quiet and calm with my daughter. Anyone who loves an active life has seen a couple of hostels right on Bauman.

(Translated by Google) The central pedestrian street of the city. It starts from Tukay Square and ends directly at the Kremlin, leading to Millennium Square. A pretty street paved with paving stones; with fountains, lanterns and benches, quaint new monuments. Here you will find many bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. After the Kremlin, this is probably the next item on the list for everyone who comes to Kazan.

(Translated by Google) Bauman Street - Kazan Kremlin! A lively place, you can spend half a day there looking at the architecture and monuments. There are many excellent restaurants and cafes with national cuisine! Very beautiful ! The street on one side leads to the observation deck and the Kremlin, which is incredibly beautiful and contrasting! On the other hand, the Cathedral of the Epiphany - it has a steep lookout over the entire Arbat, at the top it will take your breath away! (Located next to the monument to Chaliapin) -Don’t buy souvenirs there for no reason, in stores like (Bechtele or in the markets of Kazan for example - half the price)!!! -Well, the second minus is that the whole Arbat is mostly souvenir! A couple of theaters, a couple of shops and cafes, but in general (if you don’t talk about architectural monuments along the way) everything is souvenir shops, at first it’s interesting, but after half the street the sameness begins to irritate (Original)

It is a popular destination for both tourists and locals, showcasing the harmonious coexistence of different cultures in the region..
Cazzal — Google review
Kul Sharif Mosque, located within the walls of the Kazan Kremlin in Russia, is not just a symbol of Tatar culture and Islamic heritage, but a majestic architectural wonder that tells a story of resilience, faith, and revival. Originally constructed in the 16th century, the mosque was tragically destroyed during the siege of Kazan by Ivan the Terrible in 1552. After centuries, it was beautifully reconstructed and reopened in 2005 as a tribute to its historical significance and the spiritual heart of Tatarstan. The modern mosque blends traditional Islamic motifs with modern design, making it a breathtaking fusion of old and new. With its sky-blue domes, towering minarets, and intricate calligraphy, Kul Sharif Mosque stands as one of the largest mosques in Russia and Europe. The interior is equally stunning, with a massive chandelier, marble columns, and stained-glass windows that filter soft light across the prayer hall. Visitors are welcomed to explore its museum, prayer areas, and observation balcony that offers panoramic views of the Kremlin and the Volga River. Whether you're interested in history, architecture, or spiritual serenity, Kul Sharif Mosque is a must-visit destination that leaves a lasting impression on the soul.
Farooq K — Google review
The Kul Sharif Mosque, established in 2005 at the heart of Kazan within the Kazan Kremlin, serves as a poignant symbol of Tatarstan's cultural resilience. Built on the site where a mosque stood in the 16th century, demolished during an attack on the city, the Kul Sharif Mosque pays homage to its historical significance. Financed through donations from over 40 thousand individuals and organizations, the mosque's architectural grandeur includes ornate decorations, Quranic verses etched in marble, and intricate details like Czech glass light fixtures. With a unique design featuring intersecting squares, a symbolic dome, and towering minarets, the mosque stands as a testament to Tatarstan's rich heritage. Inside the complex, the Museum of Islamic Culture of the Volga Region offers a captivating exploration of Islamic history. Additionally, the mosque complex features the Museum of Ancient Manuscripts and a library. Visitors can admire depictions of tulips, ancient Bulgarian symbols, and carpets donated by Iran within the mosque's interior. The mosque, accommodating up to 1,500 worshippers, stands not only as a place of prayer but also as a cultural hub. Free entry to the mosque includes access to its rich history, while tickets are required for the museums. Operating daily from 9 am to 6 pm, the mosque observes a special dress code, providing capes for those in need. Friday prayers from noon to 2 o'clock contribute to the mosque's significance as a religious and cultural landmark. The emphasis on preserving Tatarstan's history and Islamic culture is underscored by the enduring presence of the mosque and its enriching museums.

Despite being Russia's fifth-largest city, Nizhny Novgorod may not be as well-known as other cities. However, it is a city worth visiting.
Nizhny Novgorod was founded in 1221. I notice wooden roof top on the tower. Nizhny Novgorod was a guard city in order to defense the city, again begin the construction works of the walls. There is a memorial wall artworks of soldiers lost in WWII. And on the hill with down the Volga River amazing view there is an eternal flame memorial wall for the unknown soldiers. Must visit.

The Kremlin offers a spectacular view of the city. You can take a sightseeing tour of four towers and a wall for 250 rubles (0.5$). A lot of old military equipment. A lively place. Very steep slopes, you need to be as careful as possible. Years of the construction of the towers are the 1500's. Nearby there are several good restaurants and cafes. There is a very long staircase to the embankment. In the Kremlin there are government buildings.

With relatively well conserved walls and even some military vehicles from the second war era, the place is gives a nice experience for adults and children There are some gift small shops were you can get folk and soviet era souvenirs (the price is a little bit hide but nothing out of reality for a touristic place).

Bolshaya Pokrovskaya St is a historic thoroughfare in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, known for its landmarks, sculptures, and vibrant atmosphere. The street is lined with cozy cafes and often filled with the music of street performers. Along the way, visitors can encounter significant locations such as the Nizhny Novgorod Drama Theatre, monuments to historical figures like Yevgeny Evstigneev, and architectural gems like the State Bank Building.

These stores are suitable for every budget, you just need to do a little research. You can think of it as a mini version of Taksim street in Istanbul. It is a busy street, I enjoyed wandering around it. I spent a lot of time watching on this street. The massive Holy Trinity-Saint Seraphim-Diveyevo Monastery, situated in Diveevo, Nijegorodskaya Oblast, Russia, is adorned with shining onion domes and houses the relics of Saint Seraphim. (Translated by Google) The Holy Trinity Convent in Murom is one of the brightest and most peaceful places where you feel peace and grace. The territory is well-groomed, everything is clean and tidy: beautiful flower beds, snow-white walls of temples and shining domes. What I especially liked: ✔ Cathedral of the Life-Giving Trinity - incredibly beautiful inside, you can feel a special prayerful atmosphere. ✔ The relics of Peter and Fevronia - pilgrims from all over the country come to them, especially those who pray for family well-being. ✔ rapeznaya - simple, lean food. Payment is cash only, so it's best to prepare in advance. Lunch in the photo 280 rub. ✔ Cafe with coffee and pastries - you can have a snack, buy monastery bread, gingerbread or jam. Come in good weather to enjoy the beauty of this holy place. (Translated by Google) The Holy Trinity Monastery was founded on the site of a wooden church that had previously stood here in 1643, but was closed in 1921. The revival of the monastery began in 1991. The main shrine of the temple is the tomb with the relics of Saints Peter and Fevronia, patrons of love and marriage. The tomb is located in the Holy Trinity Cathedral. The cathedral is painted inside and is somewhat reminiscent of the Resurrection Cathedral in Tutaev. On the outside there are beautiful snow-white walls in very good condition, with beautiful built-in mosaic elements. This is the only temple that is open to the public; all other churches are closed. Candles can be purchased separately in the church shop behind the Cathedral. Cards are not accepted, only cash or transfer. The St. Sergius Church, moved from the village of Pyangus, Melenkovsky district, where it was built in 1715, is interesting. It was moved to the territory of the Trinity Monastery in 1913. If you arrive early, the monastery will be very quiet and comfortable. There is a refectory, entrance from Krasnoarmeyskaya Street.

(Translated by Google) “You will like Murom, you will want to stay there,” the priest told us during a pilgrimage trip in August 2019. And he was right. I would say that Murom is under the protection of the holy spouses Peter and Fevronia. The memory of these saints who lived at the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries is honored here. On the square in front of the neighboring Annunciation Monastery there is a monument to Peter and Fevronia, and in the Holy Trinity Convent their relics rest. We were told a touching story about their love and loyalty. According to legend, they loved each other so much that they wanted to die on the same day and hour. And so it happened. They spent the end of their lives in different monasteries - Peter in the Blagoveshchensky men's monastery, and Fevronia in the Trinity women's monastery - and they should have been buried separately, but they miraculously ended up together. Since then, they have been revered as guardians of the family hearth. In the Trinity Monastery we venerated the relics of Peter and Fevronia and the Vilna Cross. I was also very impressed by the architecture of the Holy Trinity Cathedral. The style in which it was created is called Russian patterned. And the forged gilded crosses are a masterpiece of blacksmith work! How good they are - you can’t stop looking at them.

(Translated by Google) To be honest, I didn't like it inside. It so happened that we were there 2 times, once at the end of June, the 2nd time was a spontaneous visit, but we ended up on a family day holiday. So, when we visited the first time, there was a small renovation, the floors were painted, there was only a passage to the relics. At the entrance, on a bench, an attendant sat and gave everyone who came in such a look that they actually didn’t want to go in, but since we had already arrived, how could we not go in, we went in... the only light was from the windows, and only while we were walking along this small corridor , where the relics lay there was darkness. The relics are not decorated in any way, which is a pity. It's all very dark and frankly unpleasant. In general, we attributed the darkness in the temple, the lack of candles and everything else to renovations. (there was a box for the candles, and a note saying, put it here, then we’ll light it (it’s hard to believe, of course, and I’m more inclined to believe that these candles will then be taken back for sale). Having spontaneously found myself in Murom twice on a family day, how could I not go to The temple didn’t even light a candle. Moreover, this time my friend was with us, and she had also wanted to visit there for a long time. This time the monastery greeted us with a huge number of police. They blocked the entire road for the arrival of large guests. At the entrance they passed through a metal detector. And once inside, I understood why, with such beauty, I didn’t like it the first time. Yes, everything is beautiful, everything is great, BUT... there is no soul, the main thing. I really didn’t like the abbess, she was an imperious person, tough, and in her eyes there was only money, money and money (they stood nearby and heard the conversation and manner of communication. After standing in line and getting to the Temple to the relics, they realized that with the relics). On the 1st visit, nothing changed, the same darkness, the same box with a note to put candles here... They both came out with a strange feeling that yes, they could go look and take pictures of all this beauty, but they absolutely didn’t want to sit and collect everything put your thoughts in a “heap”, think and just relax (as, for example, in our nunnery, or in their monastery), there is no kind of calm and tranquility. I didn't find it there. And if we really compare between male and female, I will choose male. What is important to me is not the outer shell, but the inner state of calm. Another disadvantage, but it’s probably like everywhere else - beggars, not beggars, but gypsies. And not children, but completely healthy, normal women... But what we all liked about them (especially my husband) was the Refectory. Actually, when we got to Murom for the 2nd time, we stopped there to have a snack in the middle of the journey))) Located between the nunnery and monastery, the entrance is completely unremarkable from the outside, BUT once inside everything changes. it feels like being in a rustic log cabin, with large oak tables and benches. Stuffed birds hang in the corners (Original)

(Translated by Google) Excursionists of the #jointexcursions project went to the museum of A.I. Morozova is a branch of the Ivanovo Regional Art Museum. Director Irina Aleksandrovna divided the group into children and parents, and each half was offered its own scenario. The adults watched a documentary about Morozov, “I came into this world to...”, while the children were taken around the halls of the museum. Then the children sat down to draw, and the parents went on an excursion. Artist A.I. Morozov is an unusual person, he was a genius from a poor Ivanovo family. Having gone through all the thorns, he defended his style of writing, the right to paint landscapes the way he wanted, waited for the title of People's Artist and bequeathed his entire legacy to the Ivanovo Art Museum. His paintings, documents, photographs, dance costumes, musical instruments, and household items are collected here. The history of this house, which he himself chose for the museum, is also interesting. He never lived here. I don't want to reveal secrets. Go to the museum yourself and learn a lot of interesting things. И. Incredible pleasant visit. If you've only time for one thing in Suzdal, this is the place. Pleasant grounds, amazing exhibits, although almost no explanations are in English. However, with even rudimentary understanding of Cyrillic, the non-Russian speakers can get the gist by visuals and reading dates. We visited on a late winter day with lovely snow and darkness. Exhibit rooms are very warm. We spent a perhaps two hours. Grounds are peaceful.

This monastery in the city of Suzdal is a gem of Russian history and culture. Every hour they have a bell ringing. And it's not just a few bells, it's a whole ensemble. You can also walk up the walls. A certain part is open for tourists. Inside they have an authentic monastery herb garden. And in the cafe near the entrance they'll offer you an herb tea from these same herbs.

Suzdal must visit. We did it in one day trip from Moscow. It is enough. We took fast train 7:15 morning and back 20:15 to/from Vladimir. From Vladimir taking local bus 159 from Autostation to Suzdal. Every 30 min. This is most picturized Russian town not destroyed by Soviet architecture and old industry. Like Russia 200 or 800 years ago. A lot of history and a lot to see.

The open-air museum features well-preserved wooden structures such as log houses, windmills, and churches dating back to the 18th century.
On our one day tour of what is termed the Golden Ring out of Moscow which offers three villages each of historical interest. This on in Suzsal is the Museum of Wooden Architecture and Peasant Life which is an open-air museum that offers a fascinating glimpse into traditional Russian village life. It has about 20 Historical Buildings which are very well preserved from the 18th and 19th centuries, including houses, churches, windmills, and barns. These structures were relocated from various villages in the Vladimir Oblast to preserve their historical and cultural significance. The Peasant Life Exhibits showcases the daily life of Russian peasants, with exhibits featuring rustic clothing, dishware, furniture, and tools. We got a good idea of how families lived, worked, and worshipped in the past.

interesting museum. You can see the way of life of the kings. The truth I will not say that I have not seen this before. In the village of my grandfather, everything was exactly like that. But many entertainments, performances of remarkable musical collectives, a fashion show of quilted Suzdal sewing, master classes on matryoshka painting, embroidery of napkins, pottery. Sale of handicrafts: gzhel, products from birch bark, quilts, clothing from flax and much more. On this day the film was filmed. Participated in one of the scenes. The weather was good, on the street 28-30 degrees. I recommend to stop here

Heritage museum
Staryy Vladimir is home to a converted 1912 water tower that now serves as a museum and viewing platform. The red-brick tower houses a multistorey exhibit showcasing everyday objects from the city's history, including old clocks and stopwatches. Visitors can climb the curving staircase to reach the observation deck, which offers stunning 360-degree views of Vladimir, with the Klyazma River meandering into the distance and golden church domes dotting the landscape.
A very interesting museum with a great view from the top. It feels a bit overlooked by tourists, but is really worth the time since it really gives a detailed look into Vladimir's history through XIX to early XX centry.

The nineteenth century life of Vladimir is well depicted here. Models of shops like clocks, office, people working in the offices, house materials, are all exhibited here. One can understand the quality of life and the style of life are visible through this exhibits. This is an educational process that will shed light on the history of Vladimir. Anyone who visits Vladimir can visit this place if one is interested in the evolution of life in Vladimir.

They did not show the slightest interest in the visitors, did not say a word to help them become interested in the exhibition, and were clearly burdened by our presence. There is no toilet in the museum. There was not a single visitor except us. But the ministers insisted on masks. And about 20 minutes before closing they began to pack up and set off the alarm. Formally, no one is obliged to entertain guests. But if a city is developing a tourism business, its guests must be loved. (Translated by Google) Nikitsky Monastery is located away from the center of Pereslavl-Zalessky and is clearly visible from Alexander Mountain. This is the most ancient monastery of Pereslavl-Zalessky, according to some sources, founded earlier than 1186. The year 1186 is considered important in the history of the monastery. On May 24 of this year, the ascetic of the Nikitsky monastery, the Monk Nikita the Stylite, suffered martyrdom at the hands of insidious attackers, who, before becoming a monk, was a princely tax collector under Yuri Dolgoruky and enjoyed an extremely bad reputation as a bribe-taker and covetous man until he repented and entered a monastery. After the Mongol-Tatar invasion, there is no information about the Nikita monastery until the 15th century, when St. Photius the Metropolitan discovered the relics of St. Nikita the Stylite. In a very short period, the Nikitsky Monastery became a blooming garden, but in the Time of Troubles (1611), Lithuanian soldiers ravaged and burned the Nikitsky Monastery. In 1923, the Soviet authorities closed the Nikitsky Monastery, while the unique library of the monastery was destroyed, the monastery archive was destroyed, and church silver, utensils, and icons were looted. During the years of Soviet power, the monastery successively housed warehouses, a prison, and a driving school. In 1984, the central dome of the Nikitsky Cathedral collapsed. The beginning of the revival of the Nikitsky Monastery can be considered in 1990, when believers served the first prayer service here on the feast of the Life-Giving Trinity. There is an opinion that Peter I probably stayed in the western rooms of the second floor of the refectory chambers during his first visits to Pereslavl. Today, many of the buildings of the monastery have been restored, and the walls emanate history and that comfort and tranquility in search of which people wander around the world. Come and feel it for yourself.

Any ancient building, be it a cathedral, monastery, Kremlin or something else, makes me think about the past, at least for me. How they, our ancestors, lived and worked at that time. And how were such miracles built without modern technology? What about the monastery itself? The place is beautiful - on a hill near Lake Pleshcheevo, the area is small, but very cozy. The beauty inside the Cathedral is extraordinary. I highly recommend visiting this place.

Behind Pereslavlkm-Zalessky, turn 600 meters to the left and the monastery walls open up. Upon arrival, I was lucky enough to attend the Easter service. The leader was a very interesting priest. When reading prayers, he pronounced the first syllable very loudly, then the rest of the sentence was barely audible. Wonderful temple! The relics and virigas of Nikita the Stylite, as well as the place of his hermitage. At the same time, no pretentiousness or bragging. Strictly and concisely! Conducive to prayer! There are many interesting places nearby: Lake Plesheevo, Blue Stone, Nikitsky Spring, etc. I recommend it. Beautiful churches in the old city center of Kolomna. Definitely worth a visit.

Worth a day trip from Moscow. Medieval city castle (Kreml), architectural monument. + Unique is the urban development along the Kremlin wall. Very large parts of the historic wall no longer exist today. Between the towers that still exist today, small terraced houses have been built along the line of the wall - unique. + Interesting, open Kremlin + nice view of the Moskva River. + good tourist infrastructure. + traffic-free zones. Downtown along the main street. On the outskirts the river Moskva flows into the river Oka.

Kolomenskoye is a historic district located in the southeast of Moscow, Russia, that features a beautiful park and an impressive collection of historic buildings. The district's most famous attraction is the Kolomenskiy Kreml', a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to the 16th century. Here are some pros and cons of visiting Kolomenskiy Kreml': Pros: Historic Significance: The Kolomenskiy Kreml' is a significant historical landmark that dates back to the reign of Ivan the Terrible. The buildings within the kremlin showcase a range of architectural styles, from medieval to traditional Russian. Beautiful Scenery: The park surrounding the Kolomenskiy Kreml' is stunning, with expansive green spaces, walking trails, and views of the Moskva River. Cultural Activities: The Kolomenskiy Kreml' is home to several museums and galleries, including the Church of the Ascension, which features beautiful frescoes, and the Wooden Palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, which is a unique example of traditional Russian architecture. Peaceful Atmosphere: Despite its popularity as a tourist destination, the Kolomenskiy Kreml' and its surrounding park have a peaceful atmosphere that makes it a great place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Cons: Crowded: The Kolomenskiy Kreml' can get crowded, especially during peak tourist season, leading to long lines and wait times. Limited Access: Some of the buildings within the kremlin are off-limits to visitors, and you can only access them with a special tour or permission. Expensive: The entry fee to the Kolomenskiy Kreml' and its museums can be quite high, especially for foreign visitors. Overall, the Kolomenskiy Kreml' is a must-visit attraction in Moscow, Russia. With its historical significance, beautiful scenery, and cultural activities, it offers a unique glimpse into Russian history and culture. While the crowds and limited access can be a drawback, the experience of visiting the Kolomenskiy Kreml' is worth it.

(Translated by Google) We visited the Kolomna Kremlin, and overall we really liked it, with the exception of some nuances. Tickets were booked on the Kolomna Kremlin website, and a confirmation was received by email from the Liga Tour company indicating the time and date. The tour started at the appointed time, and our group consisted of more than 30 people, which, in my opinion, is a minus. The excursion lasted two hours and took place outside on the territory of the Kremlin, and also included a visit to the towers. On the street, the guide ruined the whole impression: she gave the tour in an hour, moving quickly and speaking quietly. She was not interested in the fact that elderly people and children did not have time to catch up with her, and she did not react in any way to requests to wait for the others or to turn the microphone louder. But the excursion to the Kremlin towers was simply magnificent - interesting and exciting. We were greeted by guides in themed costumes, and everything went in one breath. The guide spoke with humor, tried to pay attention to everyone, and invited older people to sit on a bench. At the end, everyone thanked the guide and even applauded.

St. Basil's Cathedral, also known as Pokrovsky Cathedral or The Cathedral of Intercession of the Virgin by the Moat, is a 16th-century former cathedral located in Red Square, Moscow. It now houses a museum of the church and is recognized for its multicolored domes that create a unique and vibrant appearance.
Visited St Basils Cathedral in March. It was our first visit to Russia, very much loved the country and the citizens. They were warm and helpful. Our first day was to Saint Basils Cathedral. Felt surreal by the very first look. The climate was good hence we were able to take a walk around as well. This place is a must visit

How can one skip visiting one of Moscow’s most iconic landmarks? Before learning its true name, I used to think of it as the “Tetris building.” The kaleidoscopic exterior, crowned with its whimsical onion domes of irregular shapes, is truly mesmerizing. Inside, the chambers are adorned with centuries-old church icons. An absolute must-visit.

Visiting St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow was honestly a dream come true for me. I always imagined taking a photo standing right in front of this colourful and iconic cathedral, and finally being there in real life felt unreal. The moment I saw it with my own eyes, I got so excited because it looked exactly like the picture I had in my mind for so long. The cathedral is even more beautiful in person with its vibrant colours, unique onion domes, and detailed designs. It truly stands out in Red Square and feels like something from a fairytale. I walked around the area, took so many photos, and just enjoyed the view from every angle. It’s one of those places that gives you that “wow” feeling the moment you step close. For me, this was one of the most special moments of my trip, finally standing in front of the cathedral I always dreamed of. A must-visit when you’re in Moscow!

Located at the Red Square. St. Basil's Cathedral was built in 1555-1561 by the order of tsar Ivan the Terrible in honor of the victory of the Russian army over the Kazan Khanate. Its 16th-20th centuries interiors kept preserved. The vaults and walls of the cathedral was are richly decorated with murals, precious gifts of the royal family members are kept in the former sacristy. Wall paintings and church icons tells about the wonderful miracles of the Saint.

One of nice things to see, dont miss it if you are there and not coming back to Mosco. Entrance is 2000 rubles, bit expensive for a foreigner compared to locals. Worth to see. If you have any an elderly person, be careful as there is a very narrow and high steeped stair to go to second floor.

Red Square is a historic landmark in Moscow, Russia, known for its iconic sites such as the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, and Lenin's mausoleum. While there are paid attractions within the Kremlin complex, the surrounding area offers free exploration opportunities including Kazan Cathedral and Aleksandrovsky Garden with its enchanting fountains. Visitors can also stroll through GUM shopping center and witness the change of guards at the Eternal Flame.
The Heart of Moscow – A Must-See Landmark! Red Square is absolutely breathtaking and a must-visit for anyone coming to Moscow. Surrounded by iconic landmarks like St. Basil’s Cathedral, the Kremlin, Lenin’s Mausoleum, and the GUM department store, the square is rich in history and architectural beauty. The atmosphere is both grand and peaceful, especially in the evening when the buildings are beautifully lit. You can feel the weight of history here—from military parades to cultural celebrations. It’s also a great place for photos and just soaking in the energy of the city. Tip: Don’t miss the chance to grab a classic ice cream from GUM while enjoying the view—it’s a simple pleasure in a majestic setting!

Amazing Experience at Red Square, Moscow! Visiting Red Square was truly an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere is full of history, culture, and beauty. Standing in the heart of Moscow, surrounded by the stunning Saint Basil’s Cathedral, the Kremlin walls, and the State Historical Museum, felt like stepping into a living postcard. The architecture is breathtaking, especially at sunset when the lights make the whole square glow beautifully. Everything is so clean, organized, and well-maintained. Street performers, local cafes, and friendly people add to the lively vibe. It’s not just a tourist spot — it’s the soul of Russia, where the past and present meet. I would highly recommend everyone to visit Red Square at least once in their lifetime!

The very heart of the city is a must visit - it’s alongside the Kremlin and comprises other interesting buildings like Gum, the Kremlin, St Basil’s Cathedral, Lenin’s mausoleum etc. There are sights to see and places to eat. You can spend the entire day here.

Walking through Red Square is an experience that goes beyond simple sightseeing; it is truly where the grandeur of Russian history and architecture culminates. The moment you step in, you are struck by the imposing red walls of the Kremlin on one side and the colorful, onion-shaped domes of St. Basil’s Cathedral on the other. The cathedral’s architecture is so vibrant and whimsical that it looks like something out of a fairytale, making every angle a postcard-perfect shot. I highly recommend visiting both during the day and at night. In the daylight, the intricate details and colors are stunning, while at night, the illuminations of the GUM department store and surrounding buildings create a magical, lively atmosphere perfect for an evening stroll. The square is vast with historic cobblestones, which add to the charm, but I strongly suggest wearing comfortable walking shoes to fully enjoy the walk. Access via the metro is very easy, and although it’s usually busy, the sheer size of the square prevents it from feeling too crowded. Visiting the beating heart of Moscow is an absolute must.

The State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. Established in 1856 by Pavel Tretyakov, it started as a private collection and has now grown to over 180,000 pieces of Russian art. The gallery showcases the evolution of Russian art from medieval religious icons to contemporary works. It houses iconic pieces by renowned Russian artists such as Ivan Aivazovsky, Ilya Repin, and Viktor Vasnetsov.
Rainy day is a perfect day for art. This gallery is a place for inspiration for all art lovers. It’s vast and better plan spending 4-5 hours there. I took audio guide and was lost in time. Love it.

The Tretyakov Gallery is a true cultural treasure — a place where you can walk through centuries of Russian art under one roof. From iconic works by Repin and Vasnetsov to ancient icons and bold modernism, it’s a journey through the soul of the country. Well-organized, with calm halls and powerful energy. ➕ Unmatched collection of Russian art Beautiful building and well-curated exhibitions Easy to navigate and not overly crowded on weekdays Audio guides and descriptions in English available

Kramskoy, Vasnetsov, Serov, Repin, Savitsky—to name only a few—are represented in the Tretyakov Gallery, which offers an overwhelming feast for the eyes of art lovers. The museum displays countless masterpieces I had only read about: The Unknown Woman (often called the Russian Mona Lisa), Morning in a Pine Forest (Alenka chocolate wrappers), Ivan the Terrible and His Son Ivan, and a striking portrait of Pushkin, among others. After just 40 minutes, my mind was flooded with a surge of impressions and information. With 62 rooms to explore, this is clearly not a one-day museum. The entrance fee of 700 rubles is a bargain.
Kye — Google review
Very disappointing experience at the Tretyakov Gallery I visited the Tretyakov Gallery on September 25 and had a very disappointing experience. The website, the online tickets, and even the entrance signs all clearly stated that the museum would close at 9 PM. However, at 7:30 PM everyone was suddenly told to leave because of a private event — something that had never been announced anywhere. No one, not even the security staff, seemed to know about this early closure. The situation was handled poorly, and some staff were rude and unhelpful. It was also surprising that no one at the information desk spoke English in such a major international museum. Because of this, I had to completely change my travel plans and return the next day, buying new tickets and audioguides. Unfortunately, one of the main reasons for my visit — the famous Girl with Peaches — was not on display that day. Although I later received a refund for the first day’s tickets, the gallery’s response ignored the other issues I raised and fell far below my expectations.

Art museums can sometimes feel overwhelming, filled with endless hallways and masterpieces you're not sure how to appreciate. But the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow was different. Stepping inside felt like stepping into a warm embrace of Russian art history. Maybe it was the way the chronological layout unfolded Russia's artistic journey, or perhaps the sheer passion for Russian culture that resonated from every canvas. One of the things that surprised me most was the sheer diversity of styles on display. From the deeply religious icon paintings of the early days to the bold strokes of the avant-garde, the Tretyakov Gallery showcased the evolution of Russian art in a way I hadn't seen before. But it wasn't just about the artistic movements. Certain paintings jumped out at me, leaving a lasting impression. The Appearance of Christ by Alexander Ivanov was the one of the iconic piece of the museum. The Tretyakov Gallery wasn't just a museum; it felt like a conversation with the soul of Russia. It allowed me to understand the country's history, culture, and emotions through the eyes of its greatest artists.

A very big gallery with great artwork (if you're a fan of it). You need at least a couple of hours to see all of it. The ticket is 500 rubbles for adults. But I'd recommend the Shimov gallery. Much more impressive.
Vasilis K — Google review
The State Tretyakov Gallery is a remarkable art museum that boasts an impressive collection of over 180,000 Russian works spanning multiple centuries. My first visit to this iconic institution was nothing short of inspiring. As a philatelist, I was already familiar with many of the paintings displayed here, having collected numerous stamps featuring artworks from the gallery. This connection made my experience even more special, as I was able to see these masterpieces in person for the first time. The gallery's layout is thoughtfully designed, allowing visitors to journey through the evolution of Russian art. From the early icons to the bold works of the 20th century, each piece tells a story and reflects the rich cultural heritage of Russia. I found myself captivated by the detailed brushwork and the emotions captured in each painting. The names of the artists, such as Ilya Repin and Ivan Shishkin, were not just words to me; they represented a deep-seated appreciation cultivated during my studies in art history at a young age. Moreover, the atmosphere of the gallery is steeped in history, which adds to its charm. Walking through the halls, I felt a profound connection to the past, as if the spirits of the artists lingered in the air. This gallery is not merely a collection of paintings; it is a testament to the creativity and resilience of the Russian people. In conclusion, my visit to The State Tretyakov Gallery was a deeply enriching experience that inspired me both as an art enthusiast and a collector. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking to understand the essence of Russian art and culture.

The Moscow Kremlin, also known as The Kremlin, is a massive fortified complex located in the heart of Moscow. Originally built as the tsar's residence, it now serves as the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation. This historic site houses ancient churches used for royal ceremonies and various museums showcasing Russian state regalia and art. Visiting requires careful planning due to ticket logistics and entry requirements, but exploring over five centuries of history within its walls makes it all worthwhile.
A must visit place in Moscow having rich history and architectural value. It was great from outside as well but we took an inside tour as well. Inside there very many beautiful churches even dating back to 13th century. The churches have beautiful hand painted art on its walls and roof.

Beautiful place with a rich history, energized atmosphere, and incredible architecture. Highly recommend the tour of the inside of the Kremlin, where you can visit cathedrals dating back to the 13th century. Great place to be anytime during the day, but especially at night! The Public Museum of the Moscow Metro offers a unique opportunity to explore the history and artistry of the city's underground transportation system. Serving as both a mode of transit and an underground museum, each station boasts distinct designs and artwork, making it a fascinating experience for art enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Since its opening in 1935 as the first underground railway system in the former Soviet Union, visitors can immerse themselves in the ambiance of a bygone era.
The Metro museum was not too easy to find, or at least not for me. On Google maps it looks like it is in the first floor of the Afimall City mall, but it’s not. It is under the mall right above the Vystanochnaya Metro stop. If you get off the metro at this stop, just look up and you will see a walkway on the upper floor. Make your way up there and you will see the entry to the museum. The Moscow Metro museum is not too bad for free. It has some interesting displays, but I was hoping for more information and pictures on how the tunnels were constructed. All-in-all, it is a good place to visit. Plan on about an hour here.

This is the wrong address and it’s very hard to find this museum. To make a long story short, you need to follow the signs to Vystavochnaya (выставочная) metro station. Right before the gates, you’ll see the museum. If you still can’t find it, show locals this photo and ask them for directions.

As others have explained and we sadly did not read about until to late, it would have saved us an hour in searching, the museum is in the Metro. The Tserkov' Znameniya Presvyatoy Bogoroditsy V Dubrovitsakh is a well-known Russian Orthodox church that was built in 1704 with a baroque style and made of white-stone. The church is adorned with intricate carvings and is located about an hour's drive south of Moscow, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. It has become a favorite among visitors for its beautiful scenery and stunning architecture.
Knowing about Голицынs' Baltic/proWestern roots/connection helps to explain a) heavy-duty Baroque style of the Cathedral, b) the 'Gallitzin' settlement/tunnel in Alleghenies, etc.

The ancient Znamenskaya Church in the Russian Baroque style will not leave anyone indifferent. It is an amazing monument of architectural architecture; it is called the pearl of the Moscow region. Unusual, mysterious, this is one of the most beautiful churches in Russia, with a gilded crown instead of a dome. The church in the ancient estate of Dubrovitsy, in which Prince Boris Golitsyn lived, was built at his expense in the 17th-18th centuries. The prince, who served as the tutor of the future sovereign Peter the Great, fell into disgrace with him and left for his estate. However, Peter soon cooled down, and as a sign of reconciliation, the prince, at his own expense, began the construction of an unusual church on the territory of his own estate. In 1704, construction was completed, and Peter the Great himself arrived at the consecration ceremony of the temple, standing and praying on a special balcony of the western ledge. This unique monument of Russian architecture is included in the list of world art treasures.
