One of the finest & precise small arm museum in Russia at Izhvesk Region. Fortunate to visit this Museum & I have impress to see, the variety of small arms display. There is shooting range in basement to enjoy your skill of shooting... It was severe winter time when we visited from Tchykovsky. If you are in Russia, please visit this museum.
Sujay K — Google review
Awesome shooting range! You can shoot with everything from pistol to sniper. The instructor only speaks Russian but he's good at explaining for non-russian speakers without words. Museum is nice but don't expect to spend more than 2 hours max (excluding shooting range visit). 1 star off because the staff gave a million excuse to avoid giving us the discounts they have for students.

Mind-blowing. A must visit for enthusiasts or people looking to gain more knowledge.

Very interesting place. Lots of history about Kalashnikov, Mosin-Nagant, and many other small arms. In the basement, there is a shooting range the likes of which I had never seen. I got to shoot about everything they had. Great day.

The Mikhailo-Arkhangel'skiy Kafedral'nyy Sobor is a remarkable church that combines elements from different centuries. Initially constructed between 1897 and 1915, it was unfortunately destroyed by the Soviets in 1937. However, it was meticulously restored according to Charushin's original plans from 2004-2007.
This Cathedral is one of the most beautiful cathedrals that i’ve seen in my life. Lots of beautiful arts and golden decorations

18th century church with 19th and 21 century touch because It was erected between 1897 and 1915, demolished by the Soviets in 1937 and then It was rebuilt to Charushin's original designs in 2004-2007.

I don't like places like this. I've been there once with a little sister of mine, but I wouldn't go there alone. No way. I don't wanna pay to see how other beings are suffering. For me it's almost the same as slaughterhouse but it's just more stretched in time,
Ramil U — Google review
Not a fan of zoos. Animals looked weak and the monkey enclosures were very cramped. What are those African monkeys doing here? Meerkats' enclosure was very small.

Riviera Aquapark is a diverse and fun destination suitable for visitors of all ages, from children to retirees. It offers a variety of activities and amenities, including open pool areas with massage beds that provide an enjoyable experience even in winter. The park features well-organized facilities with numerous games, restaurants, bars, hookah lounges, and saunas.
Fun, diverse. Many different throats for everyone, from children to retired people. We went with my son for 12 years and my parents, everyone was having fun all day. I like it very much in winter on the open part of the pool with massage beds, the sensations are steep. If you come to the opening - the first hour and a half or two will be generally cool, the people are not very much. And in the evening after 8 excellent.

Great water park. Stayed in the room. Payment for the room includes a visit to the water park, which is very convenient - there is no queue and a visit to the Ferris wheel. I did not like the attitude of the guard on the street. Arrived by car. He asked the guards where to park, the guards replied that now some big people are now in the hotel so they won’t be able to park. After they arrived at the reception they asked what was the problem with parking. They answered that there were no problems and found a place. Listening to lies was not pleasant at a hotel of this level.
Google review
Very nice water park with a beautiful view of Kazan. The food is okay but the beer is fairly priced and nice & cold.
Gary F — Google review
I expected more from this place - to be honest. It is mostly very crowded because not only people from Hotel Riviera come there (for Hotel guests its free entrance) but also people from outside come. A lot of families with small kids - for the kids it surely is a kind of water-wonderland. You have to wait quite some time to get your turn on the different slides they have - although they are a nice fun. They also offer massage, Finnish sauna, Russian banya and Hamam (but all of them not hot enough for my taste). Real good thing is that you ha e a basin that has a connection to the outside - which is especially nice in winter times. You can get food and drinks at some different places too - but don't expect real high quality kitchen. Best time to go there is after 20.30PM - the place is open until 23.00PM - in the evening there are less people and kids.

Kazan Arbat, also known as Bauman Street, is the central pedestrian street of the city. It is a lively place with stunning architecture and monuments where visitors can spend half a day exploring. The street is lined with excellent restaurants and cafes offering national cuisine. One end of the street leads to an observation deck and the Kremlin, while on the other end stands the Cathedral of the Epiphany, offering a breathtaking view of the entire Arbat.

(Translated by Google) The apartment we rented was a minute's walk from the Arbat and the Kremlin. On the first day we dropped our bags and went to look. There weren't a lot of people, which was nice. No one intruded, and we avoided horses and donkeys for photos. The lively scene only captivates you and you have time to turn your head in different directions. There are many establishments from inexpensive to quite expensive. There is something and someone to take a photo with. They gave brochures, but not intrusively. There is a lot to take a walk and see. On the last day we took the metro to the Ring shopping center - Tukay Square, and walked back and rested, leaving tomorrow. On the first day, we also saw people relaxing on benches🤦 it was already at ten o’clock in the evening, the police were not seen. Everything was civilized, quiet and calm with my daughter. Anyone who loves an active life has seen a couple of hostels right on Bauman.

(Translated by Google) Bauman Street - Kazan Kremlin! A lively place, you can spend half a day there looking at the architecture and monuments. There are many excellent restaurants and cafes with national cuisine! Very beautiful ! The street on one side leads to the observation deck and the Kremlin, which is incredibly beautiful and contrasting! On the other hand, the Cathedral of the Epiphany - it has a steep lookout over the entire Arbat, at the top it will take your breath away! (Located next to the monument to Chaliapin) -Don’t buy souvenirs there for no reason, in stores like (Bechtele or in the markets of Kazan for example - half the price)!!! -Well, the second minus is that the whole Arbat is mostly souvenir! A couple of theaters, a couple of shops and cafes, but in general (if you don’t talk about architectural monuments along the way) everything is souvenir shops, at first it’s interesting, but after half the street the sameness begins to irritate (Original)

Suyumbike Tower

Architectural Buildings
Suyumbike Tower is a landmark in Kazan, featuring a unique blend of Russian and Tatar designs. The tower is known for its leaning structure and green spire topped with a Muslim crescent. According to legend, the tower was named after Tatar Princess Suyumbike, who refused to marry Ivan the Terrible and jumped from the top tier to avoid subjugation.
I walked up to the Suyumbike Tower during a detour from a conference in in Kazan a few years ago. The day was gray but the tower stood tall against the sky. Brick on brick, leaning a little, not much, but enough to make you see it was different. It had its own weight, its own time. The view from there was wide. The city stretched out with the river beyond, slow and quiet. The tower had charm. Not the polished kind, but the kind that stays with you because it is strange, because it is old, because it has lived longer than men who pass it. It was a good place to stand and look. A peculiar tower, and a fine view.
Mikael H — Google review
The tower, once part of the city's kremlin and known for its lean, was straightened in the 1930s and 1990s. Its construction date is uncertain, with some suggesting the 18th century, while legend claims it was built in a week by Ivan the Terrible's artisans. Scholars debate its purpose, with some questioning the need for a military watchtower in a peaceful region. The tower's architecture, influenced by Tatar design, suggests it may be older than the 18th century. Over time, its top symbol changed from a double-headed eagle to a red star and now a Muslim crescent.

Kul Sharif Mosque, located in the Kazan Kremlin, is a stunning modern mosque with iconic blue 55-meter minarets and a dome. It is a replica of the historic mosque that was destroyed in 1552 during the Russian invasion led by Ivan the Terrible. The construction of this architectural masterpiece began in 1996 and was completed in 2005 with partial funding from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Amazing mosque - both indoor and outdoor. A must-see.

Kul Sharif Mosque is located in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. It's one of the largest mosques in Russia and a symbol of Tatar culture and Islamic heritage. The mosque features stunning Islamic architecture, with its characteristic blue domes and tall minarets. Completed in 2005, Kul Sharif is situated within the Kazan Kremlin, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The interior is beautifully decorated with intricate patterns, calligraphy, and vibrant colors, reflecting the rich artistic traditions of Tatarstan. The mosque can accommodate up to 7,000 worshippers and serves as a cultural center, offering educational programs and hosting events. It is a popular destination for both tourists and locals, showcasing the harmonious coexistence of different cultures in the region..

Kul Sharif Mosque, located within the walls of the Kazan Kremlin in Russia, is not just a symbol of Tatar culture and Islamic heritage, but a majestic architectural wonder that tells a story of resilience, faith, and revival. Originally constructed in the 16th century, the mosque was tragically destroyed during the siege of Kazan by Ivan the Terrible in 1552. After centuries, it was beautifully reconstructed and reopened in 2005 as a tribute to its historical significance and the spiritual heart of Tatarstan. The modern mosque blends traditional Islamic motifs with modern design, making it a breathtaking fusion of old and new. With its sky-blue domes, towering minarets, and intricate calligraphy, Kul Sharif Mosque stands as one of the largest mosques in Russia and Europe. The interior is equally stunning, with a massive chandelier, marble columns, and stained-glass windows that filter soft light across the prayer hall. Visitors are welcomed to explore its museum, prayer areas, and observation balcony that offers panoramic views of the Kremlin and the Volga River. Whether you're interested in history, architecture, or spiritual serenity, Kul Sharif Mosque is a must-visit destination that leaves a lasting impression on the soul.
Farooq K — Google review
The Kul Sharif Mosque, established in 2005 at the heart of Kazan within the Kazan Kremlin, serves as a poignant symbol of Tatarstan's cultural resilience. Built on the site where a mosque stood in the 16th century, demolished during an attack on the city, the Kul Sharif Mosque pays homage to its historical significance. Financed through donations from over 40 thousand individuals and organizations, the mosque's architectural grandeur includes ornate decorations, Quranic verses etched in marble, and intricate details like Czech glass light fixtures. With a unique design featuring intersecting squares, a symbolic dome, and towering minarets, the mosque stands as a testament to Tatarstan's rich heritage. Inside the complex, the Museum of Islamic Culture of the Volga Region offers a captivating exploration of Islamic history. Additionally, the mosque complex features the Museum of Ancient Manuscripts and a library. Visitors can admire depictions of tulips, ancient Bulgarian symbols, and carpets donated by Iran within the mosque's interior. The mosque, accommodating up to 1,500 worshippers, stands not only as a place of prayer but also as a cultural hub. Free entry to the mosque includes access to its rich history, while tickets are required for the museums. Operating daily from 9 am to 6 pm, the mosque observes a special dress code, providing capes for those in need. Friday prayers from noon to 2 o'clock contribute to the mosque's significance as a religious and cultural landmark. The emphasis on preserving Tatarstan's history and Islamic culture is underscored by the enduring presence of the mosque and its enriching museums.

It's not an easy climb, but from above you can see most of the island. Amazing temple. There is no doubt that the preserved and restored monastery will have a beneficial effect on the general history of Rus'. (Translated by Google) I really liked the museum, I recommend it to everyone for an initial acquaintance with the history of the Chuvash people. I didn’t take the excursion, and I really regretted it, because... There are not enough plaques with historical information. Individual excursion - 1000 rubles, I sincerely advise you to group with other tourists and still book it. I heard snippets of stories from two guides - they told the history of the republic very interestingly and with passion. The exhibition about the embroidered map of Russia is also interesting. It was interesting to look at the embroidery samples and try to guess what region it was. I also recommend a museum for children interested in archeology and extinct animals - there is a hall with the remains of mammoths, ancient animals and even people.

For young children, the section on the nature of Chuvashia will be interesting. There is no interactivity in the modern sense of the word: no buttons, touch screens, or other things that you can touch. But this in no way detracts from the educational opportunities of this museum. Among the exhibits there are many interesting things and documents that will be of interest to both adults and children. (Translated by Google) Very interesting and informative. The museum has three halls. The first hall is dedicated to the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. In addition to archaeological exhibits, you can see many maps and diagrams of burial mounds and burials, approximate dating and belonging to a certain material culture. The second hall is from the Middle Ages of Volga Bulgaria. Many exhibits related to the history, costume and life of the Chuvash people. Further - about the coexistence of peoples in the era of Tsarist Russia. The third hall is Soviet history and the nature of Chuvashia. The cost of an adult ticket is only 190 rubles. I highly recommend this museum. The only thing that, in my opinion, is a little missing is the historical period of the arrival of the ancestors of the Chuvash to these lands. That is, the first hall is the "bronze" of proto-European cultures and the "iron" of the Volga-Finnic cultures. And then - immediately the second hall and Volga Bulgaria without any special explanations - where from, when and how long did the "new" migrations to these territories take place) (Original)

There are not enough monuments to Ivan the Terrible in the city of Kazan😊😊😊! It would be better if they erected a monument to Khan Kubrat (Original) (Translated by Google) It is wonderful that such masterpieces associated with our history are gradually being restored. Of course, the region has much less funds than Moscow, but about a third of the castle has already been restored. Heating and lighting have been installed in all rooms, this has already stopped the process of destruction from moisture, which was further accelerated in the 80s, when Mosfilm, for the filming of the series, “thought of” flooding the castle basements with water. Interesting excursions are held starting from 11 o'clock in the afternoon. And yes, like any self-respecting castle, there is a ghost here! :) We got there from the M12, so we sailed on 2 ferries, first through the Sura, then through the Volga, this adds an additional flavor to the trip.

A competent guide with good humor told the history of the castle in an interesting and informative way. It was time to take a walk on our own. It's worth a trip for 2-3 days. (Translated by Google) Good afternoon We rented room 26 with a balcony, paid 4,000 rubles for a room for 1 night, which was quite a bit, considering the poor condition of the balcony, which we were warned about at the reception. I liked the room, high ceilings, many windows, a gorgeous view from the balcony, clean and not even the slightest smell of mold, although it is present in some parts of the castle. I also liked that despite the fact that the next day only the two of us signed up for the excursion (on 10/25/23 the cost was 350 rubles per person), it was carried out for us personally, since we were hotel guests. Special thanks to Lidia Alekseevna for conducting an exciting excursion for us. They allowed us to check out an hour later, since the excursion was scheduled for 13.00 and check-out was at 12.00. Of the minuses: long road to Yurino (3 hours. From the wishes: more friendly staff at the reception and security. (Translated by Google) Atoll is a water park for children and adults. We visit this water park partly because... close to home, inexpensive and quite a lot of slides for children 8-13 years old. The water park itself is small, which allows you to completely let the kids go and let them ride and swim on their own. The instructors keep order all the time, the whistle does not stop for a minute. The water park has a spa area: Russian bath, sauna, hammam; pools with cold, cool and comfortable water. There is a small cafe. On the one hand, everything is very compactly located. And it's convenient. On the other hand, there is only one jacuzzi, there is little space in the wave pool, although the shopping center itself has plenty of space, but it is filled with shops.

(Translated by Google) We liked the Atoll water park. Atoll is not the largest water park, but it is very cozy and comfortable. We had at our disposal an area of slides and pools, showers, locker rooms, a spa area, steam rooms and 3 pools of different temperatures, and a cafe. We took a 3-hour pass on a weekend for two (an adult and a child), and paid 1,800 rubles. Plus we ate in a cafe for 255 rubles. We had a great time, the child is happy. We'll come again. We highly recommend visiting. (Translated by Google) Fine. The 2-year-old child liked it, although for kids there are essentially only 2 small pools and not everything worked. I don’t find a shared locker room convenient; as a result, no one washes in front of the pools. There are few instructors, no one really pays attention. The pools and locker rooms are clean. The prices at the bar are reasonable, the taste is also normal (a small burger is 120 rubles, fries are 80 rubles). Taking into account the cost of about 1300, you can go once or twice a year.

Verkhnevolzhskaya Embankment, once a bustling promenade where people strolled to admire the river views and historic landmarks like Rukavishnikov estate, Sirotkin mansion, and Kamensky house. While it has lost some of its popularity to Nizhne-Volzhskaya, it remains a beloved spot for locals. This boulevard offers picturesque walks along historical buildings with breathtaking vistas of the Volga River.

Chkalov Stairs, named after the renowned Russian pilot Valery Chkalov, are a monumental figure-8 staircase with 560 steps that connect two public squares on the upper and lower embankments of the Volga River in Nizhny Novgorod. Built during the Soviet era, they hold the distinction of being Russia's longest staircase.
It's a nice place to visit. I suggest to start from the top and make your way down for better view and pictures. You can continue to walk next to th water and visit John Baptist Church.
