Would recommend cave de los verdes a little further on the road if you want to see a beautifull vulcanic tunnel. For the architectural part, it is nice but very limited. It is a nice tourist attraction but not representative for the beauty you can find else where of the country. Not really worth the amount they ask

It's really pretty, not as many crabs as I was expecting. Took some beautiful photos and am glad we visited but I do find it's quite over priced compared to other attractions and what you get for your entry fee. Loved the coffee shop and I would have spent in the gist shop had it not cost £40 odd quid to get in for less than an hour.

Beautiful scenery/architecture work by C. Manrique. However, the price of €16 without the volcanic house is absurd. You pay to see the small lake and the pool, which only takes 5 minutes to see unless you decide to take a break there. Otherwise, you pay for the privilege of eating at one of the many restaurants/cafés and visiting the gift shop.

Definitely worth to visit with the “Casa del Volcan” combined. Tickets were available at the cassa and it took 1,5-2 hours. “Jameos del agua” is a collapsed volcanic lava tube that is filled with seawater with special blind white mini crabs 🦀. There is a restaurant which provides dinner in this stunning ambient. Additionally we visited the Casa del volcan what you can reach from inside the “park” and it’s an interesting interactive “science museum” about the volcanoes 🌋…even my 6 years old kid enjoyed lot. If you like to exploring/learning is absolutely a great site to visit.

Known as “Samiguel de Lliño” in the local dialect, Iglesia San Miguel de Lillo was built in the mid-800s. This historic church, which is a UNESCO world heritage site due to its pre-Romanesque architecture & history, can be visited in conjunction with guided tours of the neighboring church / palace Iglesia Santa Maria del Naranco (€4 entrance fee for guided tour of both churches that lasts 30 to 45 minutes). It is a small church that has intricate carvings similar to the ones at the neighboring church and also has remains of a mural that depict shapes and humans. Photography is not permitted inside the church and carrying bags / backpacks (anything that can accidentally touch the walls) is discouraged. The walk from Iglesia Santa Maria del Naranco is less than five minutes; the walk from the center of Oviedo is approximately an hour - there are nice views of the city if you walk up though it is possible to drive.

A beautiful and well-maintained monument—rich in history and definitely worth a visit. It’s a great piece of heritage that stands out. Just a heads-up: there’s no parking nearby, so plan ahead. Otherwise, a lovely spot!

for the history geeks: this church was rebuilt 3 times due to corrosion by the nearby river, which is now a stream. materials from the leftover construction of the main oviedo cathedral in the city centre was used in the latest rebuilt thus you will be able to find intriguing and unexpected visuals if you look closer and examine carefully with your imagination - see the bearded figure I found that looks like its pouring cider? 😉

Excellent preromanic church just a stones throw from Santa Maria de Naranco, beautifully situated in the hills overlooking Oviedo. You can take a guided tour of both churches for four euros with a local guide and see their interior. San Miguel has frescos similar to San Juan de Los Prados as well as from later epochs. Tour is highly recommended.

Construction on Iglesia de Santa Maria del Naranco began in the 9th century. This unesco world heritage site was originally a palace used for recreational purposes and transitioned to a church three centuries later. It is extremely emblematic of Pre-Romanesque architecture, which the region in Asturias around Oviedo is known for. Pay attention to the details inside the church /palace where the carvings reveal animals, people and other symbols. The balconies on either side of the church / palace are also excellent for observing details of the columns. Guided tours of Santa Maria del Naranco cost €5, last from 30-45 minutes and are in Spanish. The entrance fee includes entry to the neighboring church. Highly recommend visiting, especially going on the guided tour. The walk up to Santa Maria del Naranco is rewarding though it is possible to drive up too.

The site in itself is stunning! Nevertheless, it is awfully managed for a UNESCO site. You can visit it only with a guided tour, which is in Spanish only, and whose schedule is not listed anywhere. As the site is very small, there is no real need for a guide, in my opinion, but for pamphlets and brochures in Spanish and other languages. Apart from this, the guide does not offer any real information, but reminds you all the time not to touch anything inside (it's one small hall with bare walls and columns) and literally locks the visiting group in so that the tourists wanting to get in cannot do it 🫣 Totally recommend visiting the site, it's an extraordinaty piece of architecture and a great view, but skip the guided tour.

It’s my first time visiting Oviedo, and I made sure to see the centuries-old Iglesia de Santa María del Naranco. It’s fascinating to witness something that has existed for thousands of years.

Built in 1885, Mercado El Fontan is Oviedo central market serving the city. Flaunting an Art Nouveau style, it is in dire needs of some much needed renovations (just better lighting would do a lot) but let that stop you and entering the fine selection of specialized store. We thought the fish store was especially attractive that day with a wide selection of fresh fish. Free to enter, one of your must-stops while in Oviedo. A great covered market in the center of the old town. The main produce for sale is fish though there are meats, vegetables, pastries, grains, and fruit. There are restrooms which you pay to use. This is a feature of Oviedo : free public bathrooms are not a thing.

This is an excellent municipal market. There is a wide variety of fresh and gourmet prepared food. Curiously, while crowded on a Saturday morning, it was much quieter than similar markets throughout Spain that my wife and I have visited the past two years. If you need non-food household items, there's a Mercadona about 200 meters away.

It's a beautiful typical cathedral. It's clean and well preserved. A bit on the expensive side, I visited cathedrals more complex and bigger cheaper or for free. If you wanna go to the tower it becomes even more expensive. The cathedral has nice details of craftmanship; one does not need to be a religious person to admire it. Given the proximity to other buildings you have to walk a bit around to see it from diferent angles however the city it's beautiful so it's on the positive side.

This is an incredible building. As it has been in place for 1200 years there are a mixture of architectural styles. The square in which it is situated was set up for the yearly festival but is quite beautiful. It costs €8 to view the interior which we don’t have time to do but looks beautiful in photos.

If you are interested in religious architecture or religious relics it is worth a visit. The gothic building is impressive and it has a small museum with catholic relics and objects. The visit is not going to take you more than an hour if you are interested in the subject. You can do the "Cultural visit" from Monday to Saturday from 10-13 & 16-19h. The ticket is 8€ per adult.Senior & students have a lower tariff.

Clear and small example of Asturian pre-Romanesque. Privileged location in a beautiful setting. World Heritage. It is advisable to park in the nearby parking lot on the road and walk along the dirt road, it is about 500m. They are € 2 to enter and the very friendly lady explains a little about the interior. Beautiful place and touching statue. The pain of a mother losing a child is so well expressed here. You come from behind and the statue transforms as your take in her sorrowful expression looking out to sea. For those that continue walking from here, be warned that there are no public toilets along the coastline and parks. It goes into a residential area. So if you need to, go back and pee before going on! You'll enjoy the scenery much more! 😅

A wonderful museum where you can leisurely stroll from pavilion to pavilion and discover something new each time. I was very impressed by the exhibitions on corn, bagpipes, and Asturian women's corsets. The exhibits are thoughtfully selected, presented, and described - it’s clear that a huge amount of research went into them. I highly recommend it if you’re interested in rural, industrial, and coastal Asturias. And of course, the amazing 3D photographs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries of the very places that are still interesting to walk around today provide a beautiful finale to the visit, accompanied by soulful music!

A very interesting museum with old buildings and objects from the past. It gave a real sense of how tough rural life was. It was reminiscent of St Fagan's Museum in Wales on a much smaller scale. An excellent exhibition of bagpipes, from around the world, as well as Asturias. The staff were helpful and friendly. Even better, it was all free.

Wow…what a local culture history treat! The out buildings and World Unesco Heritage designation for Asturias Cidre…you see and sense why in one of the old buildings…its something mechanically ancient cool! By far the strongest of the museum exhibits for me came at the end and I nearly missed it. The 3D photo exhibit. This is no AI 3D gaming simulation flash in the ocular-philic pan, no this exhibit for me was so much more. Connecting to their unique past, all around Asturias, in a way that was totally unexpected, quietly intimate and re-connecting. Who would have thought black and whites could carry such weight? A recommend and nod to the old old ways of cerebral cortex image capture. A Lovely free museum in Gijón!

Very decent. Having that it is an open museum, it was really a calm visit whilst the place quite displays the authenticity of the Asturian live hood until 19th century. Also having this for free was really surprising.

Very big botanical garden. Admission is less than 3€ for an adult and your ticket stays valid throughout the whole day. There's also a 'kids forest' with playground. You can't buy food here, so bring a picnic if you're planning to stay long.

Fantastic botanical garden you must visit. Low entrance fee (free for children under 12y), there are a lot of interesting flowers and trees. We saw many gardeners take care about the garden. Children have an interesting game inside. We really like it!

Beautiful and relaxing expansive gardens Myself and a friend visited on a weekday in August via a public bus from Gijon. Map provided on entry (with English text). Three recommended walking routes: short route, long route, natural forests route. Biological collections split into: Cantabrian environment, Plant factory, La Isla garden, Atlantic route. Hot & cold drinks vending machines at entrance. Cash only. Numerous toilets and drinking fountains. I recommend taking your own food as the small cafe only sells drinks and croissants. Sound and light show in the evening.

A wonderful place for families and nature lovers! We visited the Atlantic Botanical Garden in Gijón and were truly impressed. The park is huge — you need several visits to explore everything properly. The children’s playground is fantastic — safe, creative, and a real highlight for kids. The garden itself is divided into themed areas with forests, ponds, a maze, and even historical buildings. It’s well maintained, with clear paths, picnic spots, and lots of space to enjoy nature. Tickets are very affordable: kids under 11 go free, adults pay only a few euros, and there are yearly passes if you want to come back — which you definitely will! Highly recommended for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking for a peaceful and educational day out.

These botanical gardens are beautiful and a must visit if you enjoy spending time in nature and learning about botany. A lot of the information is also in English which helps. I didn't expect it to be so massive so plan to spend at least 2 hours here as they close off areas 15 mins to close.

Beautiful garden, so many kinds of plants you find there with small river and plenty of chairs to relax and watch the beauty of the nature. Staff in reception are amazing also.

Interesting place to visit although not much in English. This stuff not spoil playing with the machinery and observing the old equipment. The assistant did her best to make sure we missed nothing and sensuousness us to try the games and the musical equipment. We sampled the cider and tired pouring it without getting wet. Most have been there about 2 hours.

A guided visit can be a marvellous experience of learning about producing the traditional drink of Asturias region- cider, starting old times till nowadays. You can take active part in the tour, even playing a game of throwing coins and pretending of being a bartender who is pouring cider in a glass in a traditional way. And tasting cider from a big barrel is a must.

This is a really nice beach. It's long, it's wide. There's plenty of space and only few international visitors. It's fun place, a safe place with lots of families. The beach itself is very nice, but also the woods backing the beach is a nice area for people who prefers some cool shade and some quiet. There is plenty of free parking all along the way, but keep in mind that in high season they still fill up fast! There's a bunch of restaurants to fill your hungry stomach. Also bathroom / shower facilities. And then the part we liked best: A nice boardwalk all along the beach. It goes on for miles. Dogs are also allowed on there. Perfect for folks who need some walks like us. Loved it.

Wonderful beach! Very big; not crowded at all; beautiful scenery and surroundings; free and abundant parking, as well as many amenities including bathrooms; a first aid centre; an ice cream/cold drink stand; and a restaurant/cafe. The drive down to the beach it's also lovely and scenic.

Lovely beach with trees around for picnicking areas. Bit out of the way place with 2 restaurants and a surf bar. Pity the red flag was flying so no swimming as it was very windy.

Either you like surfing or just chilling on the beach this is your place. For surfing a bit tough, quite heavy localism if you are looking for the "left", if you go to any other spot no problem. Wild and stunning views.

A perfect wide beach with a beautiful rest area among eucalyptus trees. There are bathrooms and showers. It’s very popular in high season so the ample parking is usually all occupied but if you wait around a bit, a spot will free up.

Redes parque was the highlight of our Asturias Adventure! Absolutely worth the 1+ hour drive from Gijon and we ended up spending two days exploring the surrounding areas. Expect to take your time finding the right hike (recommend AllTrails) before you set out. We had this entire trail to ourself and can’t wait to return.

Very beautiful park, not enought attractions sadly so loses one star. Take the main road along the park it is beautiful, and make sure to stop at the lakes! Also soto de aguias is a really beautiful town so make a stop there.

I was ten years ago. The venue has really improved its content. A very nice museum very well conservated and organized too! Very, very good! Wednesdays are for free. Take your tickets on the web, so easy & fast.

Jurrasic museum before you even enter the museum, you are greeted with spectacular sea views, gorgeous nature and an abundance of open area playground and grass to explore the absolutely giant dinosaur replicas around the garden. Even without visiting the museum, this aspect of the museum, which is completely free by the way , is worth a visit just on its own. There are lots of photo opportunities and activities to explore, perfect for families with small kids. before you even arrive, I want you to take a quick satellite image look at the museum to understand what it is molded after, absolutely genius. The structure itself, the huge domes are truly spectacular to behold. Getting inside the museum is no disappointment, the towering assembled dinosaur bones towering over you underneath the beautiful interior architecture of the domes. Again, even if you wouldn’t be interested in dinosaurs, the place itself and the vibe is utterly impressive. I do wish the path leading between the different timelines will be more clearly marked out but the fluidity, the ramps leading up to the second floor and back down again was a very pleasant way to explore in a natural and organic way. The objects of the exhibition were very well lit but I found that the general lighting was a bit too modest and too dark but at the same time the tranquility and peace was borderline on a yoga session level. Very relaxing... Almost too relaxing for a tired parent. 😅 all in all it was a fantastic experience and I have absolutely no major things to criticize, even the parking is plentiful. Definitely come and visit this fantastic educational place.

Our little 2-year-old boy, Alexander, is completely obsessed with dinosaurs, so visiting the Museo Jurásico de Asturias was everything and more for him (and for us too!). He was in awe from the moment we arrived — there are so many dinosaurs to see, learn about, and even ride on. The displays are fantastic, with plenty to keep both kids and adults engaged, and the outdoor areas are beautiful to explore. We loved seeing his face light up at every “roar” and “wow.” A must-visit if you’re in Asturias, especially with little dinosaur fans! I would just say to all family’s that I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND, eating food before you get there as this was the only thing that was not to a high level. I would go as far and say this was some of the worst burger, chips and croquettes that I’ve ever tasted. Other than that, the park is INCREDIBLE ✨ Also an electric car charge point too 🙌

This is the perfect museum if you have children or are interested in dinosaurs. The museum is bigger than it looks, has some impressive displays, a room full of stuff children can touch, and movies about how the fossils were found. But the main draw is the park around the museum with live size statues of the dinosaurs.

The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking ! On one side you have the sea and on the other you have the mountains. It is really spectacular if you are one to enjoy nature's fine work of art! The road to get up there is not bad, a little tight, but manageable. Unfortunately, when you do arrive at the spot, you should be aware that there is no place where you could get any drinks or snacks, so you should go prepared!

The drive up and down the Mirador is really beautiful. The view from the place itself is nice the the view from ita surroundings is mich better so I recommended walking around a bit (there is a very nice viewing point in the opposite direction of the Mirador.

One of the best views of the mountains I saw in Asturias. A must go for anyone who loves nature and scenic views. Even on a cloudy day the view is absolutely spectacular. There is plenty of parking in a car park and even on the road and a lot of area to walk around and get a new view.

Nice place to visit. The roads to get there are not the best, little information where to park. Be aware of groups of tourists, especially women in their 50s/60s with cell phones taking 500,000 videos/photos of everything they see, even when it is not allowed.

This chapel is nestled into a hole in the side of the mountain. It is a beautiful place and very spiritual. Beneath it is a lake and beside the lake, a small fountain where the water springs from the mountain itself. There is an entrance into the small chapel through a tunnel on the same level as the Basilica, or you can access the chapel from the lake level climbing several sets of stairs. Wonderful experience. We took the bus to the top from the city and then took the 2 hour hike on top. Would recommend everyone to do this. Absolutely wonderful with a lot of variety! From an old mine, to a lake, to rocky areas, to forests, and with a lot of cows.

It is truly an amazing place worth visiting! I went with a friend and we bought the bus ticket online as during summer the entrance is prohibited feom the morning until night to normal vehicles and thank God because the road is very very narrow with moments of no visibility due to the fog, so bare in mind that if you are planning to visit. The hike is an easy one and you can find a small restaurant with snacks and sandwiches at one of the lakes and they accept card/money. The day we went we couldn’t see one of the lakes because it was really foggy and as anything in nature, you just need to be lucky.

Mandatory shuttle bus from points down the valley. Care needed when booking return as times are inflexible. We got the 15.05, just, but a young woman with a ticket for a much later bus was refused boarding although it was half empty. Dogs are allowed. Very busy around the first lake. Part of the path on the circular walk is on broken steep limestone and quite tricky so boots are essential.

It was truly beautiful and easily walkable (a 3km loop) Very very touristy even on a day with bad weather. Bus ride up was a little scary in the fog and wet but the bus drivers were very skilled

We were hesitant until the last moment about whether to visit the Lagos de Covadonga, mainly because of concerns about the road. However, we decided to go, even with two small children, and I’m writing this review to help other families make the same decision. Many people had warned us that the road was dangerous, but in reality, it’s perfectly manageable if you drive with caution. It’s not narrow,two vehicles can easily pass in opposite directions. We’ve encountered far more challenging roads in other places. For families considering the trip, we highly recommend it! The views are absolutely breathtaking, making the drive more than worth it. Once you reach the first lake, you can continue a bit further,either a short 3-minute drive or a 15-minute walk to see the second lake. We visited in the low season and were lucky to have a spectacular sunny day, which made parking very easy. However, even in busier times, there are public parking areas just a short walk from the lakes. The paths are accessible with a stroller, but we personally preferred using a baby carrier. All in all, visiting the Lagos de Covadonga is an unforgettable experience, and we definitely recommend it for families!

We stopped by out of curiosity having seen the place on Tik Tok 😅 At 17.00 on a cloudy Sunday afternoon it was quite busy there, so I can only imagine what it would be like at midday on a sunny day. I think it would be fun but during the summer months there's always going to be a lot of people and while it's impressive, I myself would prefer to go to one of Asturias other fine beaches. Best option for parking without fear of receiving a fine is to drive right down the bottom of the track and pay the 3€. Between the parking area (where incidentally you can walk to another beach from) and Gulpiyuri there's a chiringuito where you can purchase refreshments.

Known as the shortest beach in the world, this is a nice spot to stop by. It can get crowded and it is indeed a small beach but it is very unique due to the fact that there is a channel in the cliff that allows seawater to reach this beach which is basically a sinkhole. Behind the beach you will have some nice views of the cliffs and there is free parking available there.

Wonderful and beautiful beach. Small, compared to the other nearby beaches. Although, i recomend going to the beach in trainers / shoes, not flipflops, since the terrain is very rocky and slippery. Plus, to get to the actual "shore" you need to go up and down a feet wide crack.

Beautiful beach and good for surf. There’s a sign that prohibits motorhomes by the entrance to the little town you need to pass to get to the big parkjng lot. Understandable as you need to be a good driver to manouver the narrow streets. An easy walk down to the beach, not so easy to get back up - but many families with small children have managed it before you! It’s a naturalist beach. No toilets.

Torimbia Beach is a hidden gem! It’s a nudist beach. The atmosphere is calm and family-friendly, with turquoise water and a beach sheltered from the wind. There’s a small beach bar with delicious seafood, though there’s a bit of a wait. The hike to and from the parking lot is about 15 minutes down and 20 minutes up, adding to its charm. Highly recommend it!

This beach offers a stunning view, thin white sand, crystal clear waters, fun waves to jump and the safety of lifeguard staff. Parking is somewhat tricky and there is a 2 km walk to get to the beach, which is quite steep and rocky at times, so not suitable for older people or wheelchair users.

Absolutely stunning beach and views… the waves, caves and a tiny island around the beach Points to note: 1) accessible by private transport only. From the Parking point it’s a private 10-15 minutes descent to the beach which is partly VERY steep 2) there is only one restaurant by the beach which has good options of food and beverages 3) it’s a “clothes optional” beach. So most of the people you see around are FULLY naked. So that’s something to be considered if visiting with kids or your comfort Overall if you do not mind the descent and climb, it’s an amazing beach and all the effort is worth it

Stunning scenery and well marked trails. Getting to it is a bit of a faff. We drove to Covadonga (v cool place) then if you hadn’t pre-ordered bus tickets you have either a taxi or shuttle. Shuttle was 12 euro return and you share with others. Once you are off an going it’s pretty efficient. The drive up to the lakes is epic, and I can see why they don’t want lots of cars. It’s busy at the meeting point & round the lakes but once you get out hiking in the trail it thins out v quickly. Trails are well marked and scenery is stunning. Allow at least a half day.

Incredible views everywhere, truly spectacular National Park. There are many good trails, was very easy to follow and well maintained. Can highly recommend the hike to Vega de Ario refuge even over the lagos one.

For any visiting birder the Picos de Europa is the best place in Spain to see Wallcreeper, Snowfinch, Alpine Accentor and Alpine Chough in the summer, plus other birds such as Rock Thrush, Water Pipit and maybe even a Lammergeier. The Fuente Dé cable car takes you up to over 1,900 m in altitude in just a 4-minute ride. It gets busy in the summer, so don't leave it until too late in the morning, but once you get away from the entrance the crowds thin out and you are left with amazing scenery and a good chance at some of the best high-altitude birds that you get in Spain. It's great for hiking, and in fact if you can't or don't hike it's a bit of a shame, because you'll be missing out on the best of the park. Down in the green valleys there are hay meadows, small villages and forested slopes, good for Black Woodpecker and Middle Spotted Woodpecker, and high passes with Citril Finches in the vicinity.

Lovely beach with an unfortunate English name. We arrived as the tide was coming in and saw the transformation from a bay with a sand flat to one filled with water. We swimming around the corner closer to the sea. The water is colder as there is deep water coming into the bay. At mid tide there are some heavy waves as the water is coming over the sand bank. Children need to take care even though there were a couple of life guards on duty as the waves can smash you into the rocks.

Unfortunately lived up to its name when we visited on Sunday 17th August. Hand written sign on the beach saying it was closed to swimming on due to pollution in the water (e.coli). Lifeguard confirmed it was due to a recent storm causing a sewage spill from further up the river. We saw black effluent visible in some of the pools just upstream from the beach. Suggest checking with the lifeguard for updates before entering the water.

We walked here from Llanes after reading reviews. We went by the cliff path but returned via the road - much better. In English, Poo isn't great, but Poo Bay is superb!👍 Highly recommended for a great day out. We arrived at low tide, but that wat still good, the waves gave us great fun, and the water was soooo warm😀 After about 2 hours, the tide turned, and we enjoyed the larger waves coming in. Later in the afternoon, we had a sidra cider at the beach bar, and it was great👌 A superb day out from Llanes👌

The place is amazing but make sure to check online when the tide is high. If you go when it's low the beach will be wide and full of algae. The parking is with payment of 4 euros for the full day.

I suggest to book in advance on the website so you can plan your visit without any delay or set-back especially during big season! We booked the day before and all the morning spots were already taken. The chairlift was nice can bring up to 20 people and the travel time is less than 4 min to reach the top. If you booked in advance you need to be there preferably 10-15 min before, but if you are a few minutes late you don’t loose your place because every slot has a lot of people and lasts half an hour, you will only the last one of your time to enter the chairlift and go up. The lift costs 30€ both ways or 15€ one way, you can bring pets and ever bikes adding an extra free.

The peak has nice view but the cable car contains only 20 people and the line may take around half an hour after you buy a ticket to a specific hour. The price is pretty high and if compare it to similar places in Italy or Austria ypi dont get the same product.

You have to reserve! We nearly missed out cause did not know that. Managed to get tickets at end of day and did the absolutely stunning 14.5k walk back down to Fuente Dé which we managed even though we had done the Baja de Picos 9k walk in the morning too! We were hesitant before setting off but its an easy, downhill mostly walk with just a few upward sections to annoy tired legs at the end. The cable car alone is worth the ride even just for the view but its crazy expensive at 30 euros return trip.

We went twice, once on a Saturday at 10.30 and once on a Sunday at 9.30. We would advise, at least in the weekend, to go as early as possible (like 9.30 to catch the 10.00 cable car), because on Saturday we had to wait an hour and on Sunday we had no waiting time at all. The price is a bit expensive. €17 for a single ride, €30 for roundtrip per person. Once on the cablecar, you are up/down in 5 minutes. You can just go for the view and come back or you can do multiple hikes once you get up there, like we did.

The Picos Extreme team was great. On calm but also playful way they got everyone safe and full of energy through the via ferrata and canyon, even the little ones. I like their style! All in spanish but a great exhibition of the history of the tower and its favourite son. Terrific views from the roof

the observation desk at the top is great. A very interesting exhibition, they have musical instruments, old books, medieval clother replicas… Too bad mostly everything is in Spanish only. We spent about 1 hour there. Entrance fee is 3 eur.

It is worth visiting just for the view point at the top. Entrance €3.00. Nice 👍

At its heart, a very interesting collection of materials but without a lot of context and with only limited English language translations it becomes a bit overwhelming. Putting aside the rather incongruous collections of 17th century dress and armour, the main draw are the perfectly reproduced folios produced by Beato and his successors, which themselves are important in establishing the Santiago myth in northern Spain and helping Isabel and Ferdinand wrest it from the Moors. The "mappa mundi" is fascinating. Well laid out but frustratingly difficult to understand.

Just at the top you can find a nice shot for your photos, but inside there is not something to enjoy that much... Visiting the top but is offered.

Fantastic museum for the price. The basement had an exhibition of 70 Dali watercolours depicting Dante’s inferno. Astonishing.

If you are visiting Potes you should visit this place. It's right next to the tourist center where you get some information and maps so there is no excuse. For a small price you'll be able to check this 6 floor museum and the cherry on top (pun intended) you have a 360 view of the whole town and Picos da Europa
