It was enjoyable to see the church. So impressive that it is built into the rock. We were bummed to find out that the opening hours that are listed on Google are only in conjunction with having tickets for a tour. There is a nice trail to walk up above the church to look at the ruins.

Just an amazing view. You can visit the church by a guided tour only. Our guide Mr. Becker was great - we were alone with him in the church which was a very special experience.

Its a stair climb to get here but a really beautiful little Church. Has an interesting history and has a myth about 2 brothers and why it was built. It has a spring in it to. Worth the time to check it out.

Was stationed near there in the U.S. Army in 1970 thru 1972. It was a very historic town. Lots of German history.

After buying the entrance ticket, the kids received a small stone..this was so friendly of the receptionist. So much beauty and awe at one place. Learnt so much about agate and gemstone. After the visit to the museum, we passed by the gift shop and bought some souvenirs. The visit was totally worth it!

A good museum with 3 floors of gemstones. The pieces are well described and there are some unique gems too. There are 2 different puzzle tracks for kids. Those make the visit for them more interesting. There is one with finding numbers and one with finding letters. Both were a bit challenging for a 6 year old. They have a Audio Guide that you can download but a QR- code at the entrance would promote it more

We truly enjoyed this beautiful museum and the variety and wealth of gemstones they had on display. The variety and variance was stunning, we couldn't get over how beautiful some of the stones were. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we definitely recommend a visit!

This museum was one of the most beautiful I have seen. There was a lot to learn about how they carved all the stones and gems and who invented it. There are really beautiful stones and statues of creatures (as you can see in the pictures). The employees are very nice and helped you if needed. There are a lot of cool things you can buy in the store! This is a really good place to go if you love stones, gems and statues!

My daughter brought stones home in here pockets as a kid. So, even being in her 40's she loved the museum! It has some amazing gem work and historical facts on the gem business of the region.

We felt very welcome, the lady provided a good explanation of their wines and we had the chance to do some tasting, we bought some amazing bottles. Our dogs were welcome too!

Did a great little wine tasting as part of a Viking cruise. The host gave a great history of the winery and the tasting cellar was a great ambiance for a tasting. We tried some of the best wines, and they threw in a red they have been playing with that was actually pretty good. I think they will get there with the reds with further development. We just had a little palate cleansing bread and stuff for our tasting, but they have food and the menu looked pretty good to me. Didnot have time to go back for a full meal, but per our guide their food was very good. A nice small quaint winery, and I would recommend worth a stop in to check it out in a classically beautiful Germanic medieval architecture

We were welcomed by Monika, a kind lady who knows her wine! She gave us tastings of their Trockens, as we prefer the dry rheislings. It was a lovely visit and we were happy to buy a few bottles.

My wife and I were welcomed for a complete and engaging tasting of more that seven of their excellent wines, all of them Rieslings, and each unique. An education in top Rieslings.

Our river cruise tour took us to the Mosel wine museum in the gorgeous, wine country of Bernkastel-Kues, Germany. It is set in cool, vaulted, moodily lit cellar of St. Nicholas hospital. They have the most Moselle Riesling in the world, with over a hundred varieties. For a small fee, you can can sample any wine that you like on your own. Each wine has all off the information clearly displayed with which winery that it comes from. My wife loves wine, I don’t drink it at all, but I did really enjoy the experience. The dry wine is in one wing and the sweeter wine is in another. I actually liked some of the sweeter wines, but I was mostly there for morale support! My wife absolutely loved the wines and bought a few bottles to take to Paris. Upstairs the helpful staff made it easy to find the wine that you liked in the cellar. I suggest taking a picture of the wine that you chose, as they really have a wide selection. They even have a cool event room in the cellar with seating, tables and chandeliers. A lovely, unique experience in a beautiful, historic city on the Mosel river. A fun experience.

The wine museum was closed indefinitely, but we were able to explore the wine cellar. The tasting was $20+ euros with access to over 300 wines, which seemed worth it even though we originally went for the museum. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff and most wines were stocked. Would definitely recommend!

You can test everything with paying 20euro for the glass. The manager was very attentive and explained a lot about the wine.

We visited here as part of a river cruise group. The place closed at five and we arrived at four. We had a blast going through the extensive cellar and tasting all the different varieties in such a short amount of time. We wished there was a wine cellar like this back home.

A superb discovery where you can help yourself to taste over 100 local wines from small to large producers at your own pace for €18 (or less if you have a Bernkastel guest pass). Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff (who very kindly spoke good English!) who were very helpful and not at all pushy to sell. You can then either buy a glass and enjoy there with a warm Pretzel, or purchase to take with you, all excellent value. A great way to introduce yourself to a wide range of Mosel wines.

Very nice! Quite crowded but definitely worth a visit. Parking at the visitor centre costs 10 euros and from there it’s a 20 minute walk to the bridge. Great views!

The view from the suspension bridge was absolutely stunning. Parking costs around 6 euros, though the parking lot is not well maintained, and there's an additional 1 euro fee to use the washroom. The bridge is just 1 km walk from the parking area. I had a great experience walking across the bridge and really enjoyed spending the evening there even though place being quite crowded.

Such a gorgeous hike! Several trails lead you to the bridge, including a paved path that’s short and easy for little ones, a stroller, or accessibility. Paid parking, paid bathrooms located in the town by the visitor center. Bathrooms are also by the bridge. The forest trail is gorgeous, but does get muddy at points. Creek runs along much of trail. Picnic seating along the way as well. Loved this hike!

Nice scenic place . A beautiful view from the bridge to the valley beneath. A stroller could go but two won’t fit so passing would be a messy affair . Very good for trekking .

Great place to stop off. About half an hour walk from the car park. I managed it pregnant! Car park not cheap, at least €6. Afvthe bridge there are portaloos (which were gross) bins and plenty of benches. The toilets at the car park look nice bit you have to pay for them too.

This is highly recommended for children as well! You can park at Parking 1 and walk the 2 km route, which is really cool. Along the way, you can find entertainment and lots of information about renewable energy.

Wonderful mix of history and culture. It is truly beautiful! The only downside is that there’s no parking on-site — you have to park about 10–15 minutes away. It was quite a challenge with young children because of the long walk.

We visited the castle on a Sunday, it wasn't crowded. We parked the car (at our own risk) at the school below the castle. We paid 10€ for the castle tour ticket and waited 15 minutes for the guided tour. An interesting day, full of historical information.

Love this place. I visited in the month of October , fall season added to the beauty of this place. The promenade and shops around it make the experience lively and full of warmth. In the market town you can have a taste of seasonal Federwein/ Federweißer and other forms were also available.Took guided tour to the castle which is not so far from the bahnhof (train station). There is also option to hike to the castle or go by bus.

Let's start out with I had high hopes for this place. It was highly recommended and we drove two hours to visit it. Upon arrival we had roughly 30 minutes to see everything due to them closing and us running into traffi. We were greeted by an individual who didn't even say hello just a what do you want we are closing. We tried to talk a bit regarding the mustard and process and asked if we could try some. After giving a long sigh he allowed us to try some of the flavors before us choosing. Now for the mustard. The original is my favorite while the other flavors I had were more of a mustard which then they added spices. To me I thought it would have more of a unique taste or something different from just added spice. They do accept card and the mustard is around 7 euro. Now for the review. This place just from the staff alone. I would have to give it a 2 out of 10 on that 🔥 scale. The location is very beautiful and good walking distance to the downtown area.

We were here as part of a river cruise tour. We were Interested in learning about how mustard is made, but not really a fan of the product. This is a really small working operation that does a good job to explain the history and development of the product.

A lovely mustard museum near the Moselle river, Cochem. Well worth the visit if you are in the area. Had the opportunity to sample the many mustards before purchasing. Very tasty indeed! Other products available to purchase if mustard is not your thing.

It's a shop with hardly anything out on display. I guess you can only do so many varieties of mustard. Anyway, we walked in, did the circumference in about 1.5 minutes, and walked out. I'm not really sure why this place has the possibility to review it.

Not many words required for this place: Mustards and sausages. Many mustards available in different flavours, home made by the still in use mill. You pay a price for it, around €7,80 for a 250ml jar. Too much in my opinion, but yes, many tourists will buy it anyways. Oh yes, you can do some tasting as well.

Just tried the sausage and a mustard of your choice for 2,50 offer. We really enjoyed it. Of course, some mustard flavors won‘t fit everyones preference. But the sausage was really good. While my favorite was the historic mustard, my +1 preferred the garlic mustard - a bit too intense for me.

We highly recommend this hotel. The room was spacious, the bed and linens, very lovely. The service was exceptional which sets this hotel apart from many others. The owner gave us great recommendations of places to visit (the castles of Eltz and Thurant are both a must) and places to dine. He met all our requests and even accommodated our late arrival. We will definitely stay again if traveling through again. The owner has a lovely restaurant as well. Unfortunately, he is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays so we missed the opportunity to dine there.

We had dinner here after touring Berg Eltz. We went with what our server recommended and it was the Boar flatbread dish with cream cheese, Gouda and fresh herbs. Absolutely delicious and drank red wine with it. Friendly fast service was a plus as well as free parking. I would be a regular here, if I could.

We had a very nice one-night stay while visiting the Eltz castle. By good weather you could easily walk from the guesthouse to the castle. The food at diner was excellent. Breakfast was very good and cheap. You can ask for your preferred type of eggs, they have different breads, cereals and yogurt. The room and bathroom were very clean. The host is very welcoming and friendly. We would highly recommend this place and would gladly stay again.

The food here is great quality. Traditional German cuisine at an exceptionally good price. The portions are good and the presentation is really nice. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We stop in here every time we visit Castle Eltz. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for a night while traveling through Germany. Stayed in a large room very spacious for our family, fantastic views of the country and sunset. Owner was extremely friendly, gracious, and spoke English. Had dinner in their restaurant - every dish we had was excellent, and breakfast the next morning was good as well. Highly recommend this place for both lodging and to eat at. It's as close as it gets to Burg Eltz, took no more than 2-3 minutes to the parking lot for the castle

Very nice and cozy hotel. The rooms are tidy and nice, don't expect inner city hotel services. The hotel is a very homely feel, Dieter is an absolute gentleman, speaks good English and is very helpful, pity he supports Bayern Munich. The breakfast is quite nice, but we felt that it was a little expensive, personally would recommend eating at a Cafe nearby. We enjoyed our stay here and are very thankful to Dieter and staff.

We’ve eaten at the restaurant twice and really enjoyed the food. During the warmer months, you can eat on the patio and enjoy the nice weather! We tried the potato soup, chicken schnitzel and the chocolate cake for dessert. Delicious!! Great customer service, great food and great location 😀

Nice castle but we hiked to ones that were better with no cost or minimal cost . Unfortunately it was under construction which is understandable but took away from the experience and some sections were blocked off. The museum was closed for 1 hour for a theatre show so we waited a while but felt we didn’t want to wait anymore. We thought it was over hyped in our opinion with the high reviews! It is hard not to get spoiled with so many castles around!

The views are delightful, and the room inside is pleasantly cool in hot summer. Burg Rheinfels is a great ruin castle to explore. I had fun learning about what it would have been used for and how all the rooms would have looked. The grounds can be uneven to walk and there are stairs. There are toilets available and a nice gift shop.

An amazing ruin. Great entry price and we were free to walk around even though lots of maintenance happening. Definitely worth a visit.

It was great experience to visit the castle (mostly ruined) and have an insight of what happened here during medieval era and after French war. There are several things you can see like the Europe’s largest cold store and beautiful view of Rhine valley at the top. It is mostly under construction due to repair work going on.

You can visit only few parts of the castle as it is under major renovation. What is really a must, if the weather isn't rainy, is the restaurant. The view from the terrace is simply astonishing!

Brilliant and informative tour in English at 1pm and 4pm every day. The walk up isn't as bad as we expected and there's lovely coffee in the restaurant whilst you wait for your tour. You can only visit it by tour so you have to wait for your tour to start.

Not a bad castle with nice views. There is a bit of a slope to walk up, but it's only 20-30 steps, so not much. Tickets are 11 euro, and the tour is about 1 hour long. You have to book a tour ticket to walk through it, you cant just have a walk around on your own. There is a cafe at the bottom of the castle and outdoor seating area for refreshments, lunch etc and it seemed reasonably priced.

This is a must if you are in Koblenz. One of my favorite castles out of about 16 that we saw when we were traveling up and down the Rhein river. The tour is amazing. The views from the top are absolutely spectacular. Just an amazing castle. That’s all that is to say. Enjoy the photos.

The entire place is exceptionally beautiful, and the monastery itself is quite impressive. Entry to the church is free, and the environment is very clean. Restrooms are readily available nearby. Additionally, there is a delightful garden center close to the monastery, offering a wide array of items.

Beautiful abbey, with free entrance. You can’t take pictures inside. The surroundings are gorgeous and so peaceful!… You can visit the greenhouse and also buy some local products, which look great. The parking nearby, by the lake, is also easy to find with Google Maps and it’s very cheap (1 euro and we stayed there for 1-1h30?). You can also take a hike around the lake, but at this time of the year (March) it is still very muddy and quiet. Apparently you can rent boats and do other activities during summer time. It’s a wonderful place and not far from Koblenz.

It was founded in 1093 and stands today as a beautiful cloister in a setting that is a combination of mountains and a lake carved by volcanic activity with farming and lots of locally produced goods. There is a 10km hike around the lake. I saw lots of fall colors, but it was clear that in summer there are lots of lake activities and in winter a Christmas Market. There is a Gärtnerei with many unique plants, a sculpture garden, an organic food market and a hotel. Free parking for motorcycles!

Beautiful building but inaccessible without a tour. Numerous souvenir shops with overpriced stuff. Extremely commercial. Huge letdown. Perhaps interesting if it's on your route to another place but we came especially for this monastery so we were disappointed.

Very nice winery, great wine

We had a nice visit of the cellar. After that we enjoyed tasting few wines and bought more than dozen bottles of riesling and pinot noir. Arrived at home, we opened two of the six riesling "S" we got. Both of them presented a sour sparkling presence (it should be a still wine!!!) which was not present in the wine we tasted at the winery, which was totally smooth and nicely mineral. Most likely the wine they sold us had an unintended fermentation in the bottles resulting in CO2 generation. After calling the winery to complain, they refused to refund for the faulty bottles.

It's an old, nice winery, good for keeping wine and for buying, but not for staying(imagine how is the host stays there for the whole day, it's so cold). The level of flooded water can be seen on the wall even after the year passed. But they didn't stop and continue produce nice wine for us.

Best white wine in world !! Love it so much ! Spending way too much money there every time !

Great and large statue with huge area for people to stand, sit, walk by and eat/drink at the numerous food stalls in the vicinity. Nice place and area beside the Moselle (Mosel) river flowing into the Rhine river. Koblenz is very nice river city in Germany not very far from Border city Trier or the country Luxembourg by train.

It is a real wonderful scene The River divides into two branches with the mountains and Cable cars along with the flags around you I loved the place , great for taking pictures

Deutsches Eck is an absolutely stunning place to visit! The meeting point of the Rhine and Moselle rivers offers breathtaking views, especially at sunset. The atmosphere is peaceful, and there’s a real sense of history surrounding the monument. The area is beautifully maintained, perfect for a relaxing walk or taking photos. It’s also a great spot to sit and enjoy an ice cream while watching the boats pass by. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this iconic landmark is truly unforgettable. Highly recommended!

If you are visiting Koblenz, this is a must-see place. It's in all honesty nothing that spectacular. The monument (covered elsewhere) is, but this is just a lovely bit of space, made extra special as it's the confluence of the two rivers. Just take time to appreciate the views of the water, the castle, and of course the (spectacular) monument.

It's worth visiting. You can see the colour difference of Rein and Mossel coming together at this place, go with a cable car to the fortress (a lot of expositions included in the entrance ticket. The view of Koblenz from the fortress is very nice.

Wonderful monument. The plaza has plenty of room to walk and position for photos. Food and drinks nearby as well as a few souvenir vendors.

Our tour guide was in Character as a British spie. He walked us through as if we were an invading army. The fort and its design is very impressive. The walls are 4 meters thick.

Ehrenbreitstein Fortress offers great views of Koblenz and the wider area. It's also good value, especially when you get the combined ticket with the cable car. The exhibitions are interesting, particularly the one on the fort's history and the archaeological finds, and the show in the excavation area was a highlight. However, the layout of the fortress is quite confusing and could use better signposting. It was also a shame that one of the media-focused areas was closed during my visit, and I also accidentally missed the wine exhibition. All in all, it's an enjoyable place to visit, but a better layout would certainly improve the experience.

Visited the fortress and the grounds outside, the fortress is massive, with so much to see, I didn't have an audio guide, this would have been beneficial, as a lot of exhibits only had an explanation in German. I believe a visit to the fortress, plus the cable car for 21 euros is a real bargain. Can recommend

Apart from the history and the view, there is nothing much to see really. Compared to the entrance fee is expensive. Just the cable ride alone with the view point is sufficient to see.

Pretty nice place to visit with great views. Expensive to get in especially considering most of the tunnels are closed and the museum section has limited hours. Still, worth the visit.

This castle isn't exactly a must-visit. It's actually a former barracks used by the German army in the late nineteenth century. 🚠 The funicular ride costs 15 euros and is a glass capsule with some dirty windows. The views are decent, but the ride isn’t comfortable at all. 💶 Entrance to the castle is 10 euros, but all you really get is a view of the Rhine. Most of the buildings are just empty concrete walls—there's hardly anything to see. 🧑‍🏫 It might be interesting for a historian studying the German army of that era, but if that’s not your thing, you can definitely find better ways to spend 2 hours and 25 euros. 🆓 Just a heads-up - entrance seems to be free after 6 PM, though there are no signs to inform visitors about that.

An excellent way to reach the summit of the city, offering breathtaking views throughout the journey. I highly recommend this short ride to experience the stunning vistas of the city and rivers, as well as quick access to the fort atop the hill. Please note that there is a cost of €15 per person to reach the top, with additional fees required to enter the fort, making it quite a significant expense for a brief visit. We did not go into the fort due to the pricing during the Christmas period. The cabins are spacious, with seating strategically placed for optimal viewing from all angles, and the entire system is impeccably maintained. Additionally, cable car 17 features a unique glass bottom, allowing for an unparalleled perspective from below the carriage.

‼️TOURIST TRAP ‼️ 15 euro per person to go up, once up there is nothing to do, wan’t to see the castle? pay more! Just avoid this, it’s a 5 minute ride which is overpriced.

Most interesting thing to do during your visit to Koblenz. Cable car connecting the city side next to Deutsche Eck to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. The ride is worth it for the spectacular panoramic view of the of the city down as well as that of the mighty Rhien in both the directions which is always busy with the boats and ferries running up and down. It is recommended to have the combined ticket with Ehrenbreitstein Fortress entrance.

Amazing experience! It is a very modern seilbahn and of course it costs more than the regular seilbahn but the view compensates all. I suggest to park the car on the mountain first (there is a big parking lot next to the fort) and go down with the seilbahn to enjoy the city center without any stress about your car. Wagon 16 has a glass window in its floor so the experience gets even better.

Everyone should try this Cable Car if you visit Koblenz - Germany. You can see such a beautiful views and it’s wonderful. This Cable Car is safety and the price is worth it. When you already in the hill, you can enjoy first the place above or walk around for couple of minutes/ hours before you going back down.

Runs at weekends during off peak times, which are October to early April. We paid EUR31 for a family ticket which is up to 2 adults and 4 children. This included admission to the fortress at the top. Be warned that there's lots of walking if you want to see everything and maybe not so great for under 5s. The playground at the top worked well for us.

It’s a beautiful castle. But it’s small on the inside just 2 floors and a little tower on the side so ur done pretty quickly. And for the price €25 for a family ticket it’s pricey.

It‘s definitely worth a visit, the place is nice and spacious. We chose to go up with the tram mainly because of the children but i would recommend to take the trail hiking up instead. It was cold and windy sitting outside (for a snack/beer/coffee/ Curry Wurst, .etc) but then you get the beautiful Sunset view.

What a gorgeous castle. We stopped in on our way to Cologne. The little train tram was fun. The many stained glass windows were so cool. The little cafe was good, we got tea and coffee and snacks. Views were amazing.

A truly beautiful castle, high in the mountains, you either need to walk 40 minutes up a steep slope, or buy a ticket for a small train for 10 euros. Entrance to the castle costs 10 euros, you can buy it at the castle itself, you have access to the area around the castle and the castle itself, there are free toilets, places to eat and a restaurant, there are a lot of people. I advise you to carefully review the route in advance.

Went on a weekend, through the funicular costs 12 euro for adults and 6 euro for kids, better to buy combi tickets if you are visiting with family. The castle was incredibly beautiful and everything inside was just stunning and mind blowing. I love the fact that some known people and artists were painted on the windows in the main room. You should definitely visit it and no need to buy tickets online because you can buy them from there directly and the ticket for person was only 10€.

Truly a beautiful place to visit, the view from atop is stunning and the inside is just as nice as outside. For the price of 10 euro it's definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Getting there is a bit harder you can walk what we did but the road is very steep tho doable. there is also a train that goes up a 2 way ticket costs 12 euros (1 way ticktet costs 10)

It was wonderful holidays in Drachenburg Schloss. A have already visited a lot of castles and palaces in Germany and this one was one the best: amazing views, incredible architecture, beautiful interiors 🤩 The staff here was polite and helpful, thank you so much ☺️ You need approximately 3 hours for this place: to look everything, to walk around and to make photos 📷. ❗️This place, of course, deserves you time to visit it.

Must see place!! It is such a great location and the castle is gorgeous and mind blowing both from outside and inside! I recommend taking the bahn to go up and hiking when you are going back. Such a great experience!

The exhibition atm is smaller than expected. The upper floors were under construction & the lowest floor was about Roman period. After Hilter exhibition is on the ground floor. Educates you about Germany after WWII and quite informative on historical events that remain relevant to today's unfortunate time. Their cafe is pricey but the museum's admission is free, staff are friendly, and their lounge is perfect for students or remote work - quiet and modern. I would love to come back for the other parts of the museum.

For understanding modern German history in Bonn, I think this is a great place; it presents the period from post-war years up to reunification in a clear, chronological way, plus it’s free to visit and very easy to reach. Unfortunately, when we went, the permanent exhibition was under renovation, so we couldn’t see the main display and only visited the temporary exhibitions. Still, the atmosphere and overall organization were nice; for those planning a visit, I’d recommend checking on the official website in advance to see whether the permanent exhibition is open.

I must see when in Bonn - definitely buy tickets in advance. When we were there, There was low traffic and the museum is currently being re-organised but it is definitely worth it. The café is nice. We had cake and coffee there which was a nice early afternoon / mid afternoon break And lots of history that you just were not really aware of. I must see when in Bonn

The exhibition about the second world war was open to visitors when I visited the museum. It was really interesting to learn more about antisemitism and what people experienced from generation to generation

I visited in accordance with the high rating and recommendation. A museum not on a general history of Germany, but only on the second world war and its effects. For this reason, although there were a few interesting parts, it did not satisfy me.

A really sobering exhibition, and essential visiting for anyone who considers themselves politically interested. Lots of things to think about, especially how the 'elders' of a nation holds on to ideas of the past and steer youth towards it.

I find the visit very impressive. It’s an educative place, though currently there’s only one temporary exhibition since the main exhibition is under renovation. I’m thankful that there’s English translation everywhere.

This place is actually interesting there is parking space, you can ride your bicycles with your friends there ,. Go there for a picnic. Relax and chill read a book so many things its so good in Spring and Summer and totally 🆓

Huge space, lovely landscape, the whole family (adults, kids and dog) loved it! There is a mini-golf at the entrance, also a restaurant a bit further, playgrounds, and a dedicated big place for dogs to run off the leash.

Was a really great park! I studied abroad in Bonn for a month for the Summer of 2024 and I ran through this park several times a week, an absolutely beautiful place with several great events, bike paths, running/walking paths, and natural areas to explore. While i never took advantage of it myself it also has amazing sports related facilities. I was also able to visit the monthly flea market while I was there which was an absolute blast!

Its really really nice in here. People can do grilling, picnic dates play with friends like volleyball, badminton, football, inline/roller skating, riding a bike, going for a walk playing fetch with your dog, skateboard, and many more. There are lots of activities you could do. Its a big park i would say. There is even a restaurant with a restroom and playground for kids. Every sunday a lot of people are there. There are trashcans you will see everywhere to prevent dirty park which ivery nice

Wonderful park for a wee walk, to relax and listen to nature. The Japanese garden is nice, but it was very busy. Lot's of people out and about, but it didn't felt overcrowded. We enjoyed our visit there....

I loved the Old Market! It was lovely to see couples celebrating their marriage after leaving City Hall! I also enjoyed watching the church tower where a man( statue of his face) sticks out his tongue every 15 minutes!

I think this is one of the most important museums in Cologne and one of the main art museums in Germany. You can easily spend 2-3 hours there: it ranges from a very important modern art section with John Cage and "Five Friends" to important expressionist painters, local and international impressionists, and even some Picassos. Everything is stunning, four floors of pure art. There may be lines.

This place is remarkable! This is a museum where every single painting is worth seeing. Of course, the Picasso collection is the most famous and iconic, but you can find plenty of splendid paintings there. My only regret is that I had only 1.5 hours to see this collection.

Me and my girlfriend were in the city for the weekend and decided to call into Museum Ludwig to to pass some time. It was a nicely laid out museum with an interesting collection of works.

The ticket is just 5 euros and you go up 28 floors pretty fast. It’s just 10-15 mins walk, across the bridge. And totally worth it. Could be windy there so carry a jacket.

Fantastic 360° view of Cologne. Very cheaply priced and is open all throughout the day. Highly recommend coming here if walking up the 500+ steps to the top of Cologne Cathedral's South Tower just isn't for you.

Highly recommended! Open until 10 PM in the summer (Friday and Saturday). If you go from 9 PM until closing, you'll see it both in the morning/sunset and in the evening. This is also plenty of time, since there's no bar or other seating.

This place gives you a 360-degree panoramic view of the city, and trust me, it looks absolutely stunning, especially at night. This is a great alternative option to see the city from high or having to climb the steps of the cathedral bell tower. There was no queue when we arrived, 5euros for a ticket, get on the lift to the 28th floor and your free to roam around the top. Great views and really sheltered from the weather with super high glass barriers. It's a great place to get away from the noise of the city. They do not allow suitcases but were fine with rucksacks. Great value and 100% must visit.

The 165th anniversary of Cologne Zoo is celebrated with evergreen content: dinosaurs. But also with a Panini sticker album. So, if you want to give your children a treat, buy the Dino kombi ticket with the sticker album. Do so online to jump the queue on site. I highly recommend to also book the Dino VR experience in advance - it is a ten minute visual aid (in coop with local VR hero TimeRide) and adds to the animatronics dinos scattered throughout the park. Otherwise, the 14 dinos add a nice distraction to the regular inhabitants of the lovely zoo. Some are animated, others really huge. One of the oldest zoos of Germany sports some nice attractions but also undergoes some considerable refurbishments. Some areas are closed off, others are currently under construction (giraffe house). But some historic buildings (old elephant house) surely add to the flavor. We paid €98 for two adults and 2 kids. So plan to bring your healthy snacks and drinks with you, otherwise better top up your Amex ;)

Although zoos are not my favorite place to travel, this zoo surprised me. Animal rights were relatively respected and different and rare animals were collected in this zoo. I saw the Iranian cheetah, an endangered animal, for the first time in this zoo. It was a completely different experience from the zoos I had seen in Asia and Europe. I had it here.

An incredibly expansive and intricate zoo, with an insane amount of different areas and habitats to visit. Definitely reserve at least a few hours to complete a full loop of the zoo! I've never seen so many of certain animals before, namely the meerkats. Gate staff are also super friendly and speak English which makes it easy.

Wonderful zoo and perfect size to walk around and see everything. My children loved the feeding sessions for the seals and otters and we really enjoyed our day. The animals are looked after well and I would come again and recommend to family and friends.

Have been there again after a long time, it seems most animals kept well,they have more space now and look ok. Only the see through pool of the hippopotamus had an eco problem and was very cloudy,which was why they weren't fed for the public. The ant eater looked bored and moved repetitive. I liked the space of the cheetah which looked very natural. Entrance is expansive,but if you buy tickets online you get a daily free ticket for public transport

The Cologne Zoo is very small. The elephant house and fake dinosaurs take up most of the space. The zoo is a dreary, bleak, and absolutely ugly place, captivating depressed animals. It's truly awful, giving an abandoned desolated and apocalyptic area. Anyone who doesn't feel pity for them probably won't feel anything else either. Every enclosure is super tiny. A lot of animals were also not there. The tropical house was closed, as well as every snack bars except one.. on a weekend.

The Cologne Zoo was Fascinating and I had a remarkable time looking at and watching all the different types of animals. One exception is that they could zone the animal regions so you know what animals are where based on their location they are found. My father in law, Gary enjoyed watching the penguins and the seals jump and dive into the water, Gary said “looks fun to be one”. We both had an amazing time in the Dino VR which tells you how the dinosaurs went extinct and how they lived before. It’s fascinating and a must see, the food selection could be better but overall a great zoo experience. One of the better ones i’ve seen!!🙌

What a place! Huge park with an extraordinary amount of plants from all over the world. Beautifully taken care of. The flowers looked marvelous even in the August heat. A very calm place in the heart of a busy metropolis, I highly recommend it!

What an amazing spacious garden. It was quite a walk from the Cologne’s Cathedral but it was really worth it. The leaves were changing color and you can see just how pretty and lively the colors are. I could spend a whole day just chilling and enjoying the nature here. Shame the greenhouse was under renovation so I couldn’t get in but I’d love to one day come back during summer and see how green and amazing the flowers look like.

Lovely botanical garden to walk around. The garden has different areas so you can see the tropical plants in the hot houses (though they aren't open to enter yet), the formal planted area, and more foresty areas. There are also some nice fountains and a cafe with a big outdoor terrace. There is no charge to enter the gardens. From the tram station you can walk through the outside of the zoo to get there.

Botanical garden with a wide variety of catalogued plants. It's a great tour for families and children, and there's also a zoo right next door. The train stops right in front, admission is free, and in winter it closes at 5:00 PM because it gets dark after that.

Panarbora (not Panabora) is a real attraction in the middle of the greenery. The path over the treetops is magnificent. You stand partly between and partly even above the treetops. At the highest point of the path the panorama opens up and you have a free view from the Westerwald to the Siebengebirge. At the end of the path the 40 meter high observation tower with its 34 meter high observation platform is waiting for you. Panarbora is really worth seeing and visiting! Great!

The walk around the tree path and climbing the tower took us about 1h total. Great walk also for younger kids, strollers and wheelchairs. The food at the restaurant was great! (But you can also bring a picnic.) We then played at the playground, went into the labyrinth and fed the goats. Perfect for an all-day visit with children :)

Had an extraordinary experience in Panarbora Nature Park. The 40 m. high tower with spiral sidewalk is just mindblowing. Children will love everything. The Resraurant is quite big & has variety. Everything nicely organised.
