Island
Nature & Parks
Île Saint-Honorat is a picturesque island in the Lérins group, known for its 15th-century fortified Cistercian monastery. The island is covered with vineyards and is home to some of France's last winemaking monks. Visitors can taste and purchase award-winning wines at a special degustation room and enjoy a meal at a high-quality restaurant.
This place is a short cruise trip from Cannes. Boats start leaving from 10 am in morning and last from the island is around 430 pm, never miss it. You can spend a whole day exploring this small but beautiful island. There are multiple small beaches to swim and sun bathe. One of the destination of French Riviera.
Jasdeep S — Google review
Such a beautiful island! I definitely prefer this island to the bigger one. There are a lot less people and have quite a few cute quiet beaches. It takes a couple of hours to walk around the whole island but I definitely think you can make a whole day of it if you relax by the beach and then go sightseeing.
Janet C — Google review
Beautiful, quiet, secluded island with a monastery and vineyards. Like l’île Sainte-Marguerite, it is only accessible by ferry. There is a lovely, short walk around the island, and a nice restaurant overlooking the water.
Audrey — Google review
We began with the boat trip which was lovely. Staff were very pleasant and it was good value for money. The island is beautiful and well worth a visit. The highlight for us was to be able to join the monastic community for Mass on Palm Sunday - quite a special day to visit with a lovely procession carrying palms through the cloisters. . The singing was profound and added to the spirituality of the place. The aroma of the scented incense added to the beauty of the Liturgy. After Mass we toured the island which is very historical and interesting. We ate our packed lunches at a picturesque spot at the edge of the Mediterranean sea. Our return boat trip was just as pleasant as the initial journey. Thanks to the Community for a truly inspirational and enjoyable day. Would love to return some time 🙂🙏
Veronica M — Google review
Nice day out from the crowd of Cannes. Less busy and super nice for a day at the beach. Small island to visit by walk.
Sabrina S — Google review
Beautiful little island with a monastery but don't plan a day for it. We were there for an hour and a half and that's enough. There's nothing to see other than the monastery and a bit of a walk around. It's definitely worth a visit but not a day trip.
Sukanya A — Google review
Beautiful little island, but in winter you better be organised for lunch cause everything is closed and in the only shop that's available (the Abbey shop) there is no food and the lady is very very rude ( I think she hates tourists). Everything is really beautiful though.
Daniela F — Google review
Short cruise from Cannes, great views, cute little island, you can walk all around it in like 2 hours. Nature blooming, cicadas playing, nice old monastery (with monks living in it still), a lot of hidden little bays where you can walk on the rocks or swim. Nice restaurant La Tonelle, good food and drinks, service ok.

Île Sainte-Marguerite is a charming small island located just a ferry ride away from Cannes. It boasts beautiful beaches and an ancient fort, offering stunning views of the French Riviera. The island is also home to La Guerite, a renowned establishment since 1902, where visitors can enjoy exquisite dining experiences surrounded by lush Aleppo pine and eucalyptus trees.
A great one-day trip destination. A stroll around the island will take you a couple of hours. Highly recommended it outside of high tourist season.
Stay_c C — Google review
Very nice beaches and if you like to walk around the whole island you will find some very nice spots. Food in one of the two places available was very good.
Danessa M — Google review
Pretty place, expect lots of hiking. There are loads of small beaches but they get busy really quickly, I spent the whole day there but I reckon 4/5 hours would be more than enough.
Cassandra — Google review
Beautiful island for a day trip or half day trip. Easy to get the 15 minute ferry from Cannes. There are nice walks around the island and beautiful swimming spots with crystal clear waters. Perfect place to take a picnic, relax and enjoy the views. There are a couple of food vendors for snacks and drinks. Also check out the diving / snorkeling spot with underwater statues. The area is on the opposite side of the island to the boat port. Cool experience, swimming out to find the 6 underwater statues/sculptures.
Katie H — Google review
Île Sainte Marguerite is a fifteen-minute boat ride from Cannes. You can pick up your tickets directly on the quayside. The crossing is rather quiet. The island also depends on whether it's high or low season. It's clean and the landscape is well preserved. The boats come and go frequently. And the average return fare is less than €20, depending on whether you buy online or in the stalls. Buying on the spot seems cheaper.
Chérie A — Google review
Île Sainte-Marguerite is a natural temple, breathtaking and unique. Unfortunately, some people ruin it by parking their boats just 10 meters from the shore — something both illegal and dangerous, for swimmers and for the fragile marine environment. I expected to see the coast guard enforcing the rules, but this is Cannes: if you’re wealthy, it seems you can do whatever you want, and the local administration turns a blind eye. Sadly, the damage is already visible — much of the underwater algae is dead. A paradise like this deserves real protection, not neglect.
Simone C — Google review
A beautiful and peaceful island near Cannes, known for its crystal-clear beaches and stunning sea views. Easily accessible by ferry, it’s a perfect spot to relax and enjoy both nature and history. Highly recommended! 🌊🌿
Our_Discoveries5 — Google review
I visited Île Sainte-Marguerite during my trip to Cannes, and it was such a peaceful and refreshing experience. The island is surrounded by crystal-clear blue water and has beautiful walking trails through pine trees. You can visit the old fort, enjoy the sea views, or simply sit and relax by the shore. It’s quiet, clean, and perfect for nature lovers. There are limited food options, so it’s good to carry some water and snacks. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a calm and scenic escape from the city!

Musée du Masque de fer et du Fort Royal

Mentioned on
1 list
Museum
Specialty Museums
Nestled on the picturesque Île Sainte-Marguerite, the Musée du Masque de fer et du Fort Royal offers a captivating glimpse into history. This historic seaside fort, once a notorious prison, is famously linked to the enigmatic figure known as the Man in the Iron Mask. Visitors can explore his cell, which evokes deep emotions as one contemplates the years of isolation endured by this mysterious prisoner—rumored to be a twin brother of a French king.
Definitely worth the visit if you like history. The entrance only €6.50. You also will be able to take the best shots as it placed at the highest point on the island.
Alex S — Google review
Small, but nicely layout museum in connection with the prison. You can visit both for free if you pay the entrance to the castle. To the left you ha e the possibility to visit the prison cells, not to compare with any of the other islands prisons I have visited though, but the cells are beautifully decorated with wall paintings depicting two of the most important events in the islands long history. Ground floor is history. First floor is an exhibition room dedicated special collabs with artists. A great stop when you are visiting Cannes or the South of France in general.
Lene S — Google review
Interesting museum about the real man in the iron mask and the prison he was kept in for part of his time in captivity. The museum also has an exhibit about Roman shipwrecks and some recovered artefacts. Upstairs there was an art installation made with recycled plastic waste. It doesn't take too long to visit the entire museum, there is also a small aquarium included in the entry ticket but this is closed between 1300 and 1400 so I wasn't able to visit while I was there. However, the castle and the island of St. Marguerite is definitely worth a visit even just for a walk amongst the trees and around the lake on the western end of the island.
Nicholas M — Google review
The cell with the Man in the Iron Mask was exciting and the cell with the story of the Hougenots/the Reformed was very interesting.
Laila B — Google review
It was locked up but we peeked. Looks pretty cool. There’s more legend than fact at this point but still cool to be where it all started.
Brandon-Dean M — Google review
The Musée du Masque de Fer et du Fort Royal is located on the Île Sainte-Marguerite, one of the Lérins Islands off the coast of Cannes, France. This museum focuses on the intriguing history of the "Man in the Iron Mask," a mysterious prisoner who was held in various French jails, including the Fort Royal, where the museum is situated. The museum features exhibits that explore the legend surrounding the Man in the Iron Mask, providing insights into his identity and the various theories that have emerged over the years. Visitors can learn about the historical context of his imprisonment during the reign of King Louis XIV and view artifacts related to this enigmatic figure. In addition to the exhibits on the Man in the Iron Mask, the museum also highlights the history of the Fort Royal itself, which was built in the 17th century as a fortress and later used as a prison. The fort offers panoramic views of the surrounding sea and islands, making it a picturesque location for visitors. The combination of history and stunning scenery makes the Musée du Masque de Fer et du Fort Royal a fascinating destination for those interested in French history, legends, and the beauty of the Lérins Islands. If you have any specific questions about the museum or its exhibits, feel free to ask!
ChefLaurent D — Google review
A nice day out if you are in the area. Supposed links to the Man in the Iron Mask story and some odd points of interest such as the goods retrieved from a Roman shipwreck and commentary on the treatment of Algerian prisoners after the French conquest of Algieria.
Steve W — Google review
It is one of the must see of the island. Its not very big so you can very well visit the whole thing in around 2 hours. But the small aquarium only opens on Friday. There is also a free guided visit in French, just ask the person at the entrance and they will tell you. From here you can definitely take some panorama photos of Cannes too

The terraced gardens designed by Odette offer breathtaking views of the bay below.
Lovely and very romantic place! Highly recommended 💛💛💛 Nice to see beautiful villa and amazing garden. The view over Cannes is just super. Great sightseeing spot without a lot of tourists for romantic atmosphere.
Alla T — Google review
Small garden but peaceful and there is a nice view. For the art lovers there is a small exhibition (Man Ray last time I went)
Dawood T — Google review
Beautiful view and scenery. . . Quite peaceful and not too far from the place we stayed
Wendy S — Google review
Photos do not correspond to what it looks like, the photos with sculptures and paintings are just exhibitions (not permanent). It’s also very expensive for a poorly curated garden and most parts are often inaccessible, very disappointing experience …
Edoardo D — Google review
It is a nice place with a nice view but needs renovation, you can only visit a small part of the garden and the exhibition space is very small.
Max K — Google review
It's open only between July and August. walked 40 min uphill from Cannes just to find out the gate is closed and nobody answers the buzzer. Please make the opening times clear

National Picasso Museum

Art Museums
The National Picasso Museum is a small but fascinating museum dedicated to the life and art of Pablo Picasso. It features an extraordinary collection of ceramics, including a superb exhibition celebrating Picasso's years in Vallauris. The museum also houses large-scale murals in a chapel, such as the vibrant and haunting War and Peace mural. Located in a captivating Grimaldi castle, the museum offers beautiful views and an atmospheric setting.
This place exhibits many of Picasso’s late ceramic works created in Vallauris, and there is a large collection to enjoy. There is also a documentary that is worth watching, as well as a chapel with the theme of war and peace, which leaves a powerful and moving impression.
Tingyi L — Google review
Located in the wonderful town of Vallauris. Picasso's residence in this town where he picked up pottery art.. however, it is known that the chapel in the center has a painting that cannot be seen in any other museum as it is painted on the ceilings and the walls in the little chapel in the cathedral of Vallauris. I think the museum was small and quick. They have some other artists Picasso worked with like Ramie.
Jesse V — Google review
"A wonderful little museum in the small village of Vallauris, where Picasso lived for a few years. An amazing experience — full of history and artistic energy!"
Georgia K — Google review
Beautiful place worth the visit. Loved it here. I also recommend to watch the document about Picasso which is very interesting and is a proof of how creative he was also with ceramics and posters.
Andrea B — Google review
You have to be a fan of ceramics from picasso for this very niche museum. It's combined with the ceramics museum (same building, one ticket). Picasso produced 4,000 ceramics or 20+ per day. It's quickly and roughly done. If it wasn't for the artist's name, it'd be junk. I found it very naive and poorly designed in terms of art, while being over the top on the descriptions of the "master's work". I like ceramics, but definitely not Picasso's.
Philippe — Google review
Great small museum on Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), focusing on his pottery and the Picasso chapel painted by Picasso on the theme of war and peace. The museum also includes the Musee Magnelli, focusing on artist Alberto Magnelli (1888-1971), and a ceramic museum.
Nils P — Google review
The National Picasso Museum in Vallauris, France, is another important venue dedicated to the works of Pablo Picasso. Located in the town of Vallauris, this museum is situated in a historic building that once served as a ceramics workshop. Picasso lived and worked in Vallauris during the late 1940s and early 1950s, and the museum showcases a significant collection of his ceramic works, paintings, and sculptures. The museum not only highlights his artistic achievements but also celebrates his association with the region, where he was inspired by the local art scene and materials. If you need more specific details, such as current exhibitions or visiting information, let me know!

The park features an expansive indoor arboretum filled with exotic orchids, wild palms, diverse habitats, and surprising species of flora and fauna. Visitors can make use of the botanical audio guide e-beacon through a free app available for download at the entrance's free wifi zone.
Very interesting place, specially for kids which can explore several species both plants and animals. It has available spaces for picnics and games for children...during summer might be a bit very hot to visit ( although has a lake, high trees almost forest like) but still a good option, particularly if you want to spend few hours before or after reaching the nice airport which is just 5 min away by tram.
Elvan D — Google review
It was a very nice place to relax, conveniently close to the airport, which made it perfect for us to stop by since we arrived earlier than our apartment check-in time. The staff were friendly, and the plants and park area created a pleasant atmosphere to sit and have something to eat. On the other hand, there aren’t many things to see, and I found it a bit strange to notice rats roaming around. With some improvements, the place could be even better.
MOUH-DZ 2 — Google review
Phoenix Park is a wonderful park where families love to meet to explore the many rare species of animals and plants that amaze children and their parents. The place is beautiful and has a dining area that offers various types, the entrance ticket is cheap, the organization is excellent
Mohammed A — Google review
A fun mix of zoo and park – great for families Parc Phoenix is a lovely place to spend a few hours, especially if you’re visiting with kids. It’s a mix between a park and a small zoo, with a good variety of animals including ostriches, peacocks, ducks, and wallabies. There’s also a playground for children and even a climbing wall, which adds a bit of extra fun. We appreciated the snack shack for quick bites, and the location is very convenient—right next to the airport. The entry price was very fair for what you get. When we visited, it was quite hot, so exploring for long periods was a bit challenging, but overall, it’s a nice, family-friendly spot with plenty to see and do.
Rayan A — Google review
Parc Phoenix in Nice is truly one of the best destinations for a fun and educational family outing. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, the park offers a wonderful blend of indoor and outdoor experiences that appeal to both kids and adults. With lush botanical gardens, exotic plants, and a variety of animals including flamingos, turtles, and wallabies, there’s plenty to explore and enjoy. Children will especially love the interactive zones and wide open spaces to run and play, while parents can relax in the beautiful picnic areas under the open sky. The park is well-maintained, clean, and safe, making it ideal for a full-day visit. It’s a perfect mix of nature and leisure where families can bond while learning about biodiversity. What makes it even more appealing is how affordable it is. Entry is pocket-friendly, and for residents of Nice, it’s completely free during the first weekend of each month—a great initiative that encourages community engagement and regular visits. The park is easy to reach, close to the airport, and also has indoor areas, making it a suitable destination year-round. Overall, Parc Phoenix is a hidden gem in Nice, perfect for nature lovers and families seeking a relaxing and enriching day out. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape with kids or simply a charming day in nature.
Puneet D — Google review
It is worth visiting parc Phoenix. The park has great collection of plants from different parts of world. Plants are very healthy. It has some birds and animals too. I will highly recommend this wonderful place if you are visiting Nice.
Monika S — Google review
Animals are treated well in this park and it really shows. Flamingos are really cool 🩷🦩 and the tortoises are huge if you do have 3 hrs of spare time before your flight Nice you should really check it out. And they serve pretty good breakfast options as pantries better than the airport food I promise.
Elene N — Google review
The park has a lot of potential but needs some serious attention. It was confusing to navigate, as there were hardly any directions or staff around to help. We were looking forward to a relaxing day, but a simple rule about no scooters became a huge hassle when the staff wouldn't store it for us, forcing us to go all the way to a different storage area. On a positive note, the small cafe and the shaded seating were great for escaping the heat with an ice lolly. This place could be a great tourist attraction, but it needs a lot of improvement and better management.

Prom. des Anglais is a 7-km-long beachfront promenade in Nice, France, lined with palm trees and featuring a bike path. It has been a popular spot since the 18th century when English aristocrats sought refuge from winter weather. The promenade extends from the airport to Nice's old town and is home to many hotels and cafes. Very beautiful, scenic and lively avenue along the coast with passengers walking around in numbers even at midnight. And the avenue is exceptionally bright, of course.

There’s nothing like witnessing the sunrise during a morning run along the promenade. Ending the run by dipping my feet in the sea and listening to the waves and birds is a truly wonderful way to begin the day. It's a perfect moment of peace and connection with nature!

Great views of the bay and the city. The promenade is apparently over 7 kilometers long and offers lovely views of the water and the city. You can also get a great view of planes taking off to land and coming in at Nice airport! With so much seating available it is a fantastic spot to park up with some takeaway food and watch the world go by. It can be especially pretty at sunset. If you are visiting Nice you will probably walk along here a bunch of times

Wide, wonderful, paved walking path between the town and the sea. Sit in one of the famous blue chairs to watch the waves and the beach scene. It's an enjoyable stroll at any time of day.

Great for walking, jogging, people watching. Mostly crowded. Sunsets can be beautiful 🌇

Nice is a very beautiful city. I could not have enough of it. The clear blue water and the buildings are just breathe taking. Even from the airplane I could see the blue color of the sea. This city should be seen on feet, walking around is the best to see its beauty. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the long beach. It was difficult to walk with my feet in the water because it was a stone beach not sand one.

Fresh food market
Shopping
Marché Aux Fleurs - Cours Saleya - Nice is a long-standing outdoor market known for its fresh flowers, local produce, and food products. Located in Nice's old quarter on the pedestrianized main street of Cours Saleya, this market operates daily except for Mondays when it transforms into a flea market.
Quite a small market. Closes early (1 pm) but beautiful smells and colours. Lots of other stuff there too, like some cheese, fruits and veg, oils, mushrooms etc.
Alan R — Google review
If you're visiting Nice, start your Riviera food journey at the iconic Cours Saleya Flower Market. It’s not your average market — it’s a full sensory experience and one of the most authentic places to sample local flavors. Wandering through the colorful stalls, we were instantly drawn in by the scent of fresh blooms and sizzling street food. We tried socca, a crispy chickpea pancake hot off the griddle — warm, slightly smoky, perfectly salted. An absolute must. Just around the corner, we discovered a sweet surprise: a tiny tart with caramelized peanuts and salted butter caramel that was honestly unforgettable. Though it’s not a sit-down restaurant, Cours Saleya is a food lover’s paradise. Locals mix with visitors, the vibe is laid-back and lively, and everything feels real and rooted in the culture of the South of France. Whether you're grabbing a bite or just taking in the atmosphere, this spot is worth every minute.

A must see when in Nice! You have to try the SOCCA first round at 9am! But be ready for a long queue waiting for that local speciality. We stayed for 4 days in Nice in a Appartment and went every morning to the market to have freshly made fruit or vegetable juice and some freshly made Bakeries or the famous SOCCA. You can find anything there from fresh foods till souvenirs and paintings. The supplier are friendly and not intrusive. A must see and try when in Nice!!!
Roberto K — Google review
Such a charming market in the heart of Nice’s old town! You’ll find everything here — from fresh fruits and veggies to colorful flowers and quirky little souvenirs like butterfly and lizard decorations (so uniquely Nice!). The local spices are a treat for the senses, and the variety of cactus plants is surprisingly impressive. Don’t miss out on the fresh juices — they’re the perfect refreshment under the sunny Mediterranean sky. A must-visit when you’re in Nice!

I spent a lovely morning at the Marché aux Fleurs – Cours Saleya. The vibrant mix of flowers, local produce, and friendly vendors creates a charming, sensory experience. Even with the steady flow of people, it felt calm and welcoming. I paused often just to take in the colors and scents—such a relaxed and beautiful way to begin the day.

Colline du Château

Park
Nature & Parks
Colline du Château, also known as Castle Hill, is a historic hilltop park in Nice that offers breathtaking views of the city and the sea. The climb up the stone steps to this hill is short but rewarding, with turquoise coasts and apricot-colored roofs spreading out before you as you ascend. From the summit, you can enjoy grand vistas of the Old Port with its yachts and sails, as well as distant views of the snow-dusted peaks of the Alps.
We reached the top by cart. The road itself is beautiful, the nature and remains that we saw prepared us for the view and the pigeons, wonderful, white ones. The view of the place is fantastic, and a large part of the park is left for children and adults to enjoy freely. A great place to spend the day. The view of the waterfall, from above, leaves an unusual impression. It may take a bit of sanding, but the experience is unforgettable.
Ana F — Google review
Wonderful place and totally worth the climb! Tip: go in the morning, the sun hits the hill on the other side. You will get better views and will avoid the crowds. Also, if you go in summer, it's way cooler!
Christie B — Google review
Coming here in the rain turned out to be an excellent idea — there were almost no people around, and the views were still amazing. A bunch of viewpoints overlooking the city and the sea, walking trails, waterfalls, parks… it feels like someone was playing a video game and packed everything into one place. A beautiful experience.
Filip P — Google review
The Colline du Château is also known as Castle Hill. It has several ideal lookouts / viewpoints from where you can see the best views of Nice. At the top there is even a terrace with a couple of benches, occasionally with a musician - there was a drummer when we were there. In addition to many scenic walks and viewpoints, there is also a waterfall, archeological ruins, playgrounds for children, and a cafe. It’s hard to miss seeing the Colline du Château from the famous Promenade d’Anglais and whether ascending either by steps on one side or a ramp on the other, it’s worth the effort. Spend an hour or the day as there are plenty of public restrooms and a couple of snack kiosks. Highly recommend!
Nanita — Google review
Parc de la Colline du Château ended up being one of my favorite spots in Nice. The park is absolutely beautiful—lush pathways, peaceful corners, and some of the best panoramic views of the city and the Mediterranean. Whether you hike up, take the stairs, or use the elevator, the views at the top are completely worth it. I loved wandering around the ruins, the gardens, and the waterfall area. It’s the perfect place to take a break from the busier streets below and just soak in the scenery. The mix of history and nature gives the whole park a calm, charming vibe. Overall, Parc de la Colline du Château is a must-visit when in Nice—great for photos, relaxing walks, and unbeatable views of the coastline and Old Town.
Dee G — Google review
Colline du Château offers the quintessential Nice experience! Ascending to the top rewards you with arguably the most spectacular panoramic views of the Baie des Anges, the bustling port, and the terracotta rooftops of Vieux Nice. The waterfall is a delightful surprise, and the park itself is a perfect, peaceful escape from the city's energy. A must-visit spot for breathtaking scenery and a moment of calm reflection!
Katarzyna N — Google review
Amazing view point for Nice and a good day out for sure! There is a lift you can take to the top of the hill which definitely improves the accessibility. It is decently busy (but what else would you expect). Upon my visit there was 2 people I encountered who seemed to be a little pushy to get people to take pictures with their Doves in exchange for money.
Grace — Google review
Colline du Chateau, also known as Castle Hill is a wonderful walk with stunning views of Nice. The waterfall was spectacular. We were also surprised to find a couple of places at the top of the hill where you could purchase refreshments. No tickets required, the walk is free, unless of course you wish to skip the exercise and catch the little visitor train.

Massena Dream offers a chic and contemporary apartment rental located in the heart of Nice, France, close to the famous Place Massena. This prime location serves as an ideal base for exploring the city's rich cultural sites, beautiful beaches, and significant historical landmarks. The central square of Nice is surrounded by parks, shops, and dining options with easy access to the beach and train station. Visitors can enjoy the well-maintained surroundings adorned with lush plants and palm trees during both day and night.
Wide open areas where the surrounding restaurants and cages put out tables and seating to eat and drink outside.

Very disappointed with the way the carnival was conducted. The place itself was ok but man is there 0 information about what happens on opening night. They say its free for entry and then when you queue up suddenly everyone has tickets. They block the whole view from the sides for the carnival and hold it in a super exclusive staged area. We travelled all the way from UK for this for nothing. If people say we should have bought tickets in advance, its clearly mentioned on the website that its free on opening day and doesn't mention about any tickets!

Lovely area with live music regularly. We found many shops and restaurants in the area. We didn't have a chance to see if uber was well represented here because our hotel was close enough to the water as close enough to Nice Massena that we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Old city is very near. So is the castle hill. Both places I would highly recommend. The beech of course, too! We found it quite easy to communicate as English speakers. We were only in Nice 2.5 days but would happily return to this area!

If you're in the French Riviera, you clearly have to come to Nice and to visit this place. It's always full of people, a lot of places where you can seat. Thanks to the metro it's pretty easy to go there. Also most of the time there are artists which perform music.

The bus servise works also very good all around the city. You can visit a lot of places in the city like Massena square, Garibaldi Square, the old city centre, the castle, the English promenade. There are many things to do and to visit. You must Go there!!!!

Cathédrale Saint-Nicolas de Nice is a stunning Russian-style Orthodox cathedral located in the heart of Nice, France. The exterior resembles Moscow with its onion domes and vibrant colors, creating a unique contrast to the surrounding French square. Inside, visitors are greeted with opulent furnishings, intricate woodwork, religious icons, ornate sculptures, and beautiful paintings. The 17th-century Baroque facade adds to the cathedral's grandeur.
Nice Russian Orthodox building not far from the railway station. It has a nice green area around it, with rabbits running around. Inside is beautiful. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Beautiful place, but an active churche so please make sure to visit outside of mess hours. There is a nice museum in the crypt worth visiting and learning about the history of this church. A bit unusual place to visit as a tourist but very interesting.
Gerard P — Google review
Found this a worthwhile visit. €5 will permit you to go to the basement of the church to view a short feature on the history of the cathedral which makes for an interesting backdrop as you view the cathedral itself. Beautiful and peaceful inside, and very pleasant ladies who admit you, plus a small gift shop if you are so inclined.
J H — Google review
What a grandiose place of worship! The church looks absolutely fabulous both from outside and majestic on the inside. Being my first visit to a Russian Orthodox church, there were so many things that were different to my eyes. There is no longitudinal nave with bench seats. Instead this is what traditional wooden chapels would have looked like. The construction reminded me of Ottoman buildings (pardon my ignorance). The intense gilded decor and dark shaded paintings instantly detaches you from the outer chaotic world. Amazing experience.
Debajyoti A — Google review
The church is beautiful, and it is worth seeing while visiting Nice, but only 4 stars because of the old ladies working inside. They are just rude. I'm a tourist and I think like many people visiting this place I'm allowed not to speak Russian or French well to understand them. I know it is a church and a place of whorship first before tourist attraction, but they were really rude and borderr aggressive. I hope you will not get this treatment.
Jacek L — Google review
A stunningly beautiful building and only €5 to enter the museum.
Vicky E — Google review

It's more beautiful from the outside and there's a big garden surrounding the cathedral. Inside we can see the museum and prayer's hall. It's only a small portion and the ticket cost 5 Euro. The ladies working there all wear head scarves. Even most women visitors wear head scarves too. Apparently this cathedral is the property of the Russian Federation.

The Marc Chagall National Museum is a tribute to the works of the Russian-born French artist, showcasing his paintings and other artistic creations. The museum's architecture by Andre Hermant complements Chagall's use of color and light, with large windows illuminating lithographs, sculptures, and paintings. Visitors can explore Chagall's biblical and spiritual inspirations through free audio guides in what is the largest public collection of his works worldwide.
This national museum houses a permanent exhibit of Chagall's paintings, stained glass, and mosaics. The paintings are from his biblical cycle. A documentary film illustrates the creation of the four seasons mosaic. The museum is located in a quiet park, including a cafe and restaurant.

Nice’s museum opened by and dedicated to Marc Chagall - primarily consisting of his ‘biblical’ works, and those related to religious themes and tropes. Interesting to see this line of his work compared to some of his other more famous pieces. Not overly big, but interesting for any art lovers.
Matt W — Google review
The Marc Chagall National Museum is located in a primarily residential neighbor situated on the hills of Nice. This museum was inaugurated while Chagall was still alive and it houses several of his paintings as well as explores his famous mosaics. There are tours available on a first come first serve basis. Guillemette, our tour guide, was extremely informative sharing insights into Chagall’s history, his collaborators, and his inspirations. We learned about the process of making mosaics too from creative inception to the actual works. What’s more, there is an outdoor cafe that’s serves sweet and savory, hot and cold snacks and beverages that is also worth checking out. Keep in mind, you will be asked to remove your water bottles and any food that you bring with you so best to avoid bringing them. Recommend bringing very small bag if any at all. Spent a delightful couple of hours at the Marc Chagall museum enjoying his art and the natural surroundings. Highly recommend

Visiting the Chagall Museum in Nice was an absolute delight. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the city, it feels like stepping into a peaceful world filled with color, imagination, and poetry. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by Chagall’s luminous blues and dreamlike scenes that seem to glow from within. What I loved most was how personal and intimate the museum feels — it’s not overwhelming, and you can really take your time with each painting. The biblical message series is breathtaking, and the stained-glass windows add a special light that changes the whole atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, and the small garden outside is perfect for sitting for a few minutes to let everything sink in. It’s one of those places that leaves you both calm and inspired

The Marc Chagall National Museum in Nice, France together with the Matisse Museum were my unexpected finds in a vacation that was just free flowing and no detailed itinerary. At first, I was apprehensive as it was my first time to visit a museum on my own and in another country even. However, I did not regret my decision to forego seeing Cannes in favour of the great works of Chagall and Matisse all in one day! The 75 or so Euros cost of Uber (Holiday Inn Hotel - Matisse Museum - Holiday Inn - Chagall Museum - Hotel) plus tickets in both museums was definitely worth it! The Chagall Museum was inaugurated on July 7, 1973, and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023. It houses a large number of artworks donated by Chagall, his wife, and his heirs to the State of France, including the 17 Biblical paintings inspired by the books of Genesis, Exodus and Songs. The museum is located in the Cimiez district with address Av. Dr Ménard, 06000 Nice, France. It stands on a vast plot of land donated by the city of Nice. The entrance to the museum is 10 euros and is opened from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM it closes on Tuesdays. I bought my ticket in the museum without hassle and entered immediately. #MarcChagallMuseum #MarcChagall #FrenchRiviera #museum

I don’t consider myself as a very artistic person and usually not sure about how to interpret modern art. But in this gallery I did enjoy simply looking at Chagall’s masterpieces and felt a beautiful soul, an innocent mind, and curious attitude toward the world.
Yulan Z — Google review
Sadly it's in need of upkeep but the art is still spectacular. The fountain around the outside mural is empty. And the museum closes for lunch. And the red room is posed off. You can only view it from it's entrance.
Marc L — Google review
Biblical Message cycle: The centerpiece, displayed over 12 walls in a distinctive rhombus configuration, delivers a striking visual narrative with intense color, spiritual depth, and dreamlike quality . Song of Songs paintings: A smaller, intimate series with red-dominated canvases blending sacred, carnal, and musical themes . Stained glass & mosaics: Notable are the stained glass in the auditorium and the Prophet Elijah mosaic overlooking a reflective pool—Chagall’s own in‑situ creations. Free parking available . Suggested visit time: At least 1 hour, more if attending an event or exploring the gardens . The Musée National Marc Chagall is a heartfelt tribute to the artist’s spiritual vision and remains one of the most authentic places to immerse in his biblical-themed art. It’s especially compelling for fans of Chagall or those seeking a serene, contemplative museum experience. For casual visitors, a one-hour visit is sufficient to appreciate its beauty and thoughtful architecture nestled in a Mediterranean garden.

The Jean Cocteau Museum - Severin Wunderman Collection, completed in 2011, is a modern-art museum located on the French Riviera. It showcases the diverse works of Jean Cocteau, including drawings, ceramics, paintings, and cinematographic pieces. The museum was made possible by art collector Severin Wunderman's donation of around 1500 Cocteau works to Menton in 2005.
I loved the layout of this museum. It’s accessible by foot and was an aesthetic collection of Jean Cocteau’s works.
Tracey T — Google review
Contrary to what is indicated, the Cocteau Museum is closed down since several years (due to storm damage) and looks abandoned. Part of the collection can be visited in the nearby "Bastion". The original Cocteau Museum building was anyway not a brilliant addition to the beautiful city of Menton, so let's hope that it will simply be razed one day.

Fellow Americans, if you’re lucky enough to visit Menton then you absolutely must visit Maison Herbin. It’s right in town and you’ll pass it many times if you’re in the central town (it’s small). Preserves make such a great souvenir and the myriad of choices, including award-winning flavors, will light up your mornings for weeks after returning. Classics you have to get are the famous Citron de Menton, Framboise is heavenly, just about everything else is magical.

The confiturerie offers free visits of the kitchen three times a week at 10.30am. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable and were able to answer any questions we had. We even witnessed the delivery of freshly picked oranges, lemons and kumquats which was great as normally you don't realise how many varieties there are. The tour ends with a tasting session of their many jams, including the gold winning raspberry, green lemon and bitter orange confiture. Then you can go to one of the two shops to buy whatever jam you fancy, and they also have a small selection of biscuits, teas and other things. Very enjoyable experience, although I did spend a small fortune on jam.
Mc D — Google review
This review is for the awful customer service, not the actual products and facility. I had gone to this store twice in a day as I had repurchased other products , so one would assume the sales person would be even nicer and happier to see a returning customer, however that wasn’t the case for me, the sales women was extremely rude and unwelcoming. It was my first time visiting Menton and this store specifically, she didn’t even bother to greet me or even ask if I needed help, I saw others come in who I suspect were locals and she immediately greeted them and attended to their needs . I was scolded by her because I took a jam jar from the wrong queue and rather than guide me or politely tell me to take a different jar, she persisted to yell infront of others. This women was either having a bad day or prejudice towards foreigners and by the way, I speak French fluently, so there were no Language barriers. The customer service should match the integrity of the products. Extremely disappointed with my experience with this shop, despite it being extremely quaint.
Roukaya J — Google review
It's just a nice. You can find all the jam you want. The lady was really nice and gave us the possibility to try what we wanted to buy. I strongly suggest the jam with lemon and lavander. Also the smell inside the shop is good. You can pay with credit card as well. I suggest this place to everyone
Mario M — Google review
I cannot fault the products; lovely selection of artisanal confitures, honeys, limoncello. However, I experienced the worst customer service by the vendor. This was at the larger shop attached to their fabrication site and not in the little shop located on the pedestrian walkway.

Cemetery
Sights & Landmarks
The Cemetery of the Old Château, also known as Cimetiere du Vieux-Chateau, offers a serene escape from the lively atmosphere of the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region. Situated on a steep hill overlooking Menton, this historic cemetery provides a unique glimpse into centuries of life and history. As you wander through the graves, you'll encounter resting places of prominent figures from different eras.
Honestly.. my highlight from Menton! As weird and in a way wrong it seemed to visit a cemetery (in a sense - such places shouldn’t be crowded by tourists), this was breathtaking. It’s important to be respectful, silent and not too much all over the place. This visit was really special for me.

Excellent cemetery, up on a hill right in the old town. Easy walk up the old stairs, old style path. Well signed. Drinking water (tap) up top, not much else. Great views of sea, harbor, mountains, on both sides. Even a few benches to enjoy the solitude and the views, along with the permanent guests. Very interesting monument work, some recent, some as old as 1885 (maybe older), some clean and polished, some falling apart, some obviously expensive, some humble. All tell a short small story of loss, that somebody at some time, cared.

Good historic cemetery. Easy to get to from the seaside. Go up the Orange staircases and when you get to the church, make a sharp right up more stairs. These stairs take you to the cemetery through very quaint alleys and houses. Very well worth the steps to get to the cemetery.

Why I am a tombstone tourist at times? It is architecture, with art stones from different eras, the finely carved sculptures, they were meant to be seen and appreciated. I will always find something interesting about history as well. I am curious about the stories of the people whose lives are represented on the tombs. This peaceful abode's permanent residents include a Russian prince, the tomb of William Webb Ellis, legendary inventor of the sport. Aubrey Vincent Beardsley an English illustrator and author. Plus this lovely Kingdom of eternal rest has one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Menton. Look out over beautiful carved angels to the dazzling blue of the Mediterranean Sea💙.

Menton has been attracting European vacationers and retirees for 150 years and many of them ended their days here. And it would be hard to find a more scenic spot for a last farewell. There are residents here from the USA to Russia and most points in between. Many of the graves teeter on the brink of a precipice with no safeguarding for grieving relatives or inquisitive visitors but it is wildly beautiful. The British section is on a lower level accessed by a gate to the right of the main entrance where you will find escapees from Stalybridge and Wimbledon resting in the Mediterranean sunshine. Joining them for a few moments quiet reflection is rewarding.

About 10-15mins straight walk uphill from the basilica cathedral is the cemetery. There is only 1 exit and entrance which is beside a main road. Entry is free. On a late Thursday afternoon, it was very peaceful and there were only 3-4 other visitors. The cemetery offers a nice view of menton but the place itself is very charming with its medieval theme and random spots w wild roses growing 💕 Definitely worth a visit if you happen to visit the cathedral as well!

very atmospheric place on top of the hill. old tombstones, silence, a place to reflect. at the same time, beautiful views of the sea and the city

Campsites French Riviera Menton - St Michel

Sights & Landmarks
Historic Sites
Campsites French Riviera Menton - St Michel is a modest hillside campground in Menton offering tent and caravan sites, as well as cabin rentals. It provides basic facilities including clean showers and restrooms. The staff are friendly and helpful, providing a full introduction to the camp upon arrival. The campground offers beautiful ocean views from its location in the hills of Menton, although it may not be suitable for those without a car due to its elevated position.
We stayed at the beginning of September for 4 nights in a camper, and it was an amazing experience. The hosts were very kind, helping us with advices on what to visit, how to get around Menton. We were able to do laundry (5€) and borrow a dryer. The spot we had reserved was near the reception so we used the bathrooms behind the reception. The bathrooms were clean, we had toilet paper. The only downside was that there was only one toilet, but we didn’t had to wait in line. We were able to get water from a spring right in the camping, with no extra payment. The camping location is beautiful, with a view of the sea and the city of Menton. But it is a bit difficult to get to the camping on foot, as there are a lot of steps. There is a bus that takes you from the city center to the camping, but it passes the camping only twice a day.
Mihaela P — Google review
Spent 1 night with 1 tent here. The view is great, staff is friendly. The campsite has decent and clean showers and toilets. You can easily access by foot from the town, but it is a steep and sweaty hike in the summer! 20 euros for the night (solo, 1 tent, 1 night, no car). Slightly noisy depending on where your spot is because you can hear cars/motorcycles from the roads.
Noemie V — Google review
Nice location for train excursions to nice and Monte Carlo as well as the town itself. Bathrooms older and not clean. Not even toilet paper provided. A bit pricey at Euro 48 per night off season. Approach is a bit challenging for larger motorhomes.
Ralf A — Google review
Camping with a great view to the sea. Great showers. Soap for the toilet but no toilet paper. Very expansive (20 euro for small tent and one person, I think 27 for 2) very nice receptionist. Stayed here for 3 nights at first, next year for 1 night and then again for 6, so I totally recommend it. Would come back if I can. Great sunrises at the end of September (beginning of September they come from the mountain), so you should wake up early :)

Great campsite in a great part of the French Riviera. We have returned to the campsite having spent 4 nights in our campervan last year. The facilities are kept clean and the staff are very accommodating and friendly. Steep walk up to the campsite but it doesn’t take long.
Dan R — Google review
Very noisy. Hard to sleep. Seems to be more of a park ground for cars to drive in and out than a camping… it‘s streets all around d the camp ground. Over priced. Not warm welcoming.
Gitti G — Google review
Lovely campsite in Old Menton. Great welcome from staff. Great pitch overlooking sea. Snack bar. Facilities clean. Not noisy. Only downside is that it is located at the top of a lot of steps.

Very helpful and kind reception staff. The location is exceptional with a breathtaking view. The campsite has everything that you need, highly recommended.

Palmes Beach, located in Menton, is a serene and charming spot on the French Riviera. The beach is adorned with lemon and palm trees, exuding an old-world allure. Adventure enthusiasts can indulge in activities like scuba diving, exploration diving, snorkeling, and boat rides. Visitors praise the professional and patient instructors who provide clear explanations and create a stress-free environment for underwater exploration.
This is such a lovely dive centre. Really smiley, lovely staff and good quality equipment. I have to say, my guide Roberto was outstanding. Not only was he extremely helpful and knowledgeable, he was also really caring when I was feeling a bit anxious. I didn't speak any French but this wasn't a problem at all as he was fluent in English. I highly recommend this centre.

I cannot speak for the course quality, but I want to tell my experience as an individual diver. We planned a dive with my dive partner here and we showed up on time in the morning. It was very chaotic, no one was really dedicated for us (Material, Diveplan etc) We got treated as additional weight to the ongoing dive course. There was no boat briefing and when I asked about the dive (dive briefing) they started explaining me the route. Only after a while I realised that they were making fun of me as they were eg. telling me: "After minute 31 and 43 seconds we will turn left." I never experienced such an unprofessional level in any diving school! Especially for such an important thing like a dive plan. Childish and unprofessional.

(Translated by Google) We received a very warm welcome at Palm Beach from Olivier and Paolo. They were very well organized, with few scuba divers, but they were able to suggest interesting sites, starting from the swimming pool and the split stone. A big thank you to Franck, who showed us the Dudu drop-off. 5 interesting dives to a maximum depth of 33 meters, with lobsters, conger eels, dories, sea bream, moray eels, danti, horn eels... and shallow stops amidst clouds of fish. A great time. (Original) Très bien accueilli chez Palm beach par Olivier et Paolo. It was a wonderful experience; I found myself in another world, calm, quiet, and peaceful, supervised by very professional, caring, and pleasant instructors who paid close attention to safety. Jardin botanique Val Rahmeh-Menton is a charming 19th-century botanical garden surrounding an Italian-Provencal-style villa. Originally developed by Lord Percy Radcliffe and his wife Rahmeh Theodora Swinburne, it was later expanded by Miss May Bud Campbell before being transformed into a public exotic botanical garden. The garden features a diverse collection of exotic plants from around the world, as well as a fish pond, exotic birds, and butterflies.
Fantastic, well worth the trip to Menton just for this. Beautiful gardens, Lots of diversity and information about about stuff too. Easy to walk from the old town. Great value for money. They have a very small cafe you can get tea or coffee from.

Great botanical garden to visit. We wandered around for a hour or 2. Lots to see and everything is kept nice and clean. Mosquitoes are a thing ( everywhere in this region!! ) but they offer free repellent at the reception.
Ricardo S — Google review
Very nice visit to the gardens. Not far to walk from centre of Menton voya beach promenade and about 7 minutes up a small inclined street. Friendly staff, helpful numbered walking path around lovely gardens and the beautiful villa. The lily pond and flowers was the highlight. They also can make coffee/ tea plus ice creams
Cara P — Google review
Before you come, make sure to bring mosquito repellent like Autan, otherwise the mosquitoes will eat you alive. The garden has about 40 minutes’ worth of content, but it doesn’t seem like it has been updated in a while (at least when it comes to the information boards). Some signs are wrongly placed (decribing trees that aren’t even there) and some QR codes lead to 404 pages. If you’re into botany, you might enjoy it. But even as someone who likes plants, I’d honestly rather spend my time in the park next to it, just sitting by the sea and watching the waves.
Filip P — Google review
Yes, it costs 8 euros to enter, but it is worth it. This beautiful garden houses plants from around the planet and is truly a pleasure to explore. Also invest 1 euro in the audio guide, because it is really interesting and informative.
Ernst W — Google review
A pleasant way to spend an hour if you’re already visiting Menton. A small but peaceful garden with an array of exotic plants I understand were introduced to the region from around the world in Queen Victoria’s reign. The centrepiece is the fabulous lilly pond, with giant species from Bolivia, we spent quite some time taking in the scale and beauty. Worth visiting for this alone. We visited this garden after having already visited the tropical garden at Eze which is mind blowing, the logistics of planting the spectacular cacti on the mountainside incredible. I think if we’d not seen Eze first, I would have Val Rameh higher.
Jo S — Google review
Absolutely stunning botanical garden. It's one of those Must visit places! We spent about 3-4hrs here.
Marcel F — Google review
This botanical garden is a hidden gem and a beautiful, peaceful escape! We visited at the beginning of October, and the grounds were incredibly lush with plenty of vibrant flowers still in bloom. The atmosphere was wonderfully tranquil; we had many quiet moments where we felt like we had the entire place to ourselves, which added to the charm. The lily pond was a definite highlight and a stunning spot for photos, demonstrating the excellent maintenance across the entire garden. An unexpected bonus was the presence of a few kind, resident cats that wander the pathways! Staff were welcoming and kind throughout our visit. My one major note for future visitors is the accessibility challenge. There is no designated parking, and we had to park about an 8-minute walk away in the city and hike up a steep hill to reach the entrance. At just 8 Euro entry, it was absolutely worth the cost for the hour we spent exploring. The garden itself is a fantastic destination for plant lovers and anyone seeking quiet beauty. Just be aware of the difficult parking situation and plan for the uphill walk! I look forward to returning to see the collections in a different season.

Located just an hour and a half from Nice, this thermal spa boasts three indoor pools and an outdoor pool. The water temperatures range from 30 to 34 degrees Celsius, providing a soothing experience.

My wife and I live in Nice and came for 3 days to enjoy the Spa. Everything about this 3 days experience has been perfect. The Spa experience was our best Spa experience in many years. Sonia from the front desk is exceptional. I was so happy with Sonia, and all the women working the front desk including Virginie that I specifically came to Google to leave a very positive review. But what made our Spa experience so good, is Pascal Blieux (i hope i am spelling Pascal's last name correctly) Pascal is awesome! He is the Head Life Guard and Overseer, and to be honest, his exceptional strictness in overseeing is the reason my wife and i came 3 days in a row, and my wife will come back again for a weekend next month. Pascal is an exceptional employee who has his heart completely in his job. Thank you!

The ladies at the reception are not very nice and basically bored by clients’ questions. If they have to explain something twice you will regret having asked. The outdoor pool is not working and an inside pool is out of order as well. Be aware that you won’t be able to enjoy massages and other treatments because they have to be booked one month in advance (something that can work for local people but not for tourists).
Manu C — Google review
There is no website and no clear way to buy tickets online — surprising for such a large scale operation. We were staying at a hotel 30 min away run by the same parent company and even they couldn’t figure out how to get a hold of this place or book. Astounding. So, we had to drive all the way there, only to be turned away because my swimsuit (completely normal) was « incorrect ». There was no actual explanation, she just offered to sell me a new one that looked exactly the same as mine but apparently it was… a different material? Here’s an idea — make a website, and put your policies on it, instead of turning people away at the door. Eventually I understood that they only allow Speedo-type suits — why? Who knows… I guess they want all the guys to have their junk visibly bulging out. Disgusting. Makes even less sense because she was trying to sell me swim shorts just a couple cm shorter than mine. She also tried to charge us 29€, the weekend rate, for a weekday. We left immediately after that. I speak fluent French so there was no language barrier. Normally I don’t write negative reviews but want to spare others the trouble. If you’re a man and don’t have a speedo-type swimsuit, forget it. EDIT to note I see someone with a similar situation further down in the reviews. And the lifeguard on staff, rather than responding to the negative review, left his own 1-star review for his own employer as a reply. Perhaps the biggest self-own I’ve ever seen.
Robert B — Google review
Beautiful location an hour and a half from Nice, they have 3 main indoor pools, and one external pool. The jet pressure in the one of the pools is just great, it really helped me unwind my knots, the temperatures are not so hot,one pool was 30, the other 34 degrees, but they do the job. Super friendly and informative staff. Place is very clean and new, they are still in the process of building the new accommodation facility for those coming for a cure of 18days. Reasonably priced at 20€ weekdays, 24€ weekend for half a day and the atmosphere is very relaxing with a great view. Towels, bathrobes and slippers are offered with your ticket. It’s a shame I didn’t get to experience the outdoor pool, but maybe next time. Recommended for people with rheumatology and respiratory problems, if you also are a re French resident, their cure programs that they offer are partly covered by the carte vital if you have a doctors prescription.

Beautiful place! The hike is a bit scary if you are an intermediate hiker. Very steep and high, with steel ropes. But it’s doable. The views is worth it!

Very cute ! Loaded of history. An Orthodox chapel in Tende, you have to make a little hike (or via ferrata depending on you) to get there. Cute Byzantine paintings like the ones in Hagia Sophia in way more deteriorated of course.

Sweet little climb to this location. There are two main paths. When you ascend, there is a main branch, the left one is supposed to be harder. We took the right (easier) path. You require some equipment, i.e., ferrata set. Later the easier path splits again. The zip line part is officially closed because it is not being maintained since 2004. We did see other people do that, which looked fun, but potentially unsafe. Instead we did some climbing which was easy for medium for inexperienced climbers because there were a lot of steel holds and foot holds. At one point, there was a small overhanging part where you go around a corner. Some people may get some sort of fear of heights here, but it was the only part where I would expect anyone to feel strange. Possibly at the hanging bridge, see attached picture with the amazing view that we were rewarded with :)

An intense but very nice walk up to the chapel, you'll have beautiful views and the last part of the walk is part of a via ferrata, so you can hold yourself on the ropes, so safe and sound!

(Translated by Google) Very nice walk. Allow 2 hours round trip from the Tende cemetery. We were a family with children aged 9 and 11. Pay attention to the last part, where you have to hold on to the rope. The effort is worth it: The view from the chapel is magnificent. When the chapel is open, you can admire the traces of wall frescoes dating from the 14th century.

(Translated by Google) Accessible by footpath or via ferrata. The blue level is a good compromise: short, and remains accessible to everyone, without being too easy, with a zip line as the final reward :) The red route is much longer but not much more technical. Allow 2 hours to the summit from the start of the route. Watch out for the weather though, it's blowing up there! For equipment, rent from Stella Alpina.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful place, overlooking the village of Tende. For those who do not take the Via Ferrata, a path will take you there. Be careful though, if you are afraid of heights, or if you fear being close to heights, don't go there alone... Note that you can hear very well what is happening below in the village.

Vesúbia Mountain Park is a fantastic destination in Alpes-Maritimes, offering a wide range of outdoor activities such as bathing, climbing, canyoning, and caving. It also features an indoor sports center with activities like indoor climbing and a wellness area suitable for all ages and fitness levels. The park provides a unique indoor experience that mirrors outdoor adventures at an affordable price. Additionally, it offers special areas for kids to enjoy climbing walls.
A large indoor complex full of activities, from a climbing gym to an indoor canyoning facility and a spa, you'll find everything a bit of everything here. I think this place is perfect for families, as the elders can rest in the spa and the swimming pool while the teens do climb in the gym or other activities.

Very large indoor complex, climbing, canyoning (the only indoor canyoning in Europe), spa, swimming pool.

We did canyoning, escalade and parkour, it was very cool. You can buy 3 activities at a discount. Friendly staff. Special thanks to Benjamin from canyoning for lots of jumping and fun, he made our stay wonderful.

Great place if you are on holiday in Côte d’Azur: only 1 hour from Nice!

Quite cool and unique in that it offers an indoor experience true to outdoors ones for a very reasonable price. Pool, canyoning and really thorough climbing options from 5a to 8b. Special mention for the "escalade ludique" area where kids can enjoy really funny climbing walls

Unreal, absolutely superb activities in the climbing area and the acrobranche. We can’t wait to get back and try the indoor canyoning!!
Sophie B — Google review
Cool place where you can do several activities! Only downside: the pool is cold. Remember, due to French regulations you have to wear a tight swimsuit and also the swimming cap.

Alpha - Animal Park

Alpha - Animal Park is an ecological reserve and educational center in France that focuses on the conservation of grey wolves. The species had been eradicated from the country by 1930 but reappeared in 1992 near Utelle, having journeyed across the border from Italy. The park provides a family-friendly learning experience for visitors by showcasing three packs of these elusive animals in a semi-free environment.
We had the chance to visit the park just when it reopened and we were part of the first group of people visiting the wolfs. The whole experience is great, we had a very lovely girl as a guide with a lot of passion for the wolfs and for the entire area. She explained a lot of things and answered all the questions. There's is a small hike to do but it's easy and if you don't have proper shoes for snow you can rent a pair from the starting point for like 3€. Totally loved it and it's totally worth it. The wolfs seemed a bit scared and suspicious after a long period not seeing people but the experience it's a lovely one.

The Park Alpha is located in the Mercantour Alps, on a highs of 1900m over sea, nearly 2 hours drive from Grasse. The way is curvy and due to the big storm Alex, three years ago, especially the streets in the mountains are damaged and you really could see what water is able to destroy. Arriving at the park we first went to the store and got some nice things to remember this visit. Afterwards we went to the park itself, a little bit higher the street than the store, more in the valley. We had some time to see the surrounding and at 5pm our guided tour, a very well animal things known women and very well english speaking women went with us in the inner park to see the mountain goats first and then to see and feed the iberian wolves. This was amazing and wonderful to be part of it. Can't believe to be so close to a wolve. After this we went over to another side in the park and could see the european wolves pack and our guide told us so many things, answered any question to know about wolves in general as well as special things for this area and the wolves. I would like to say a very big thanks to her for this time to spent with us to get this experience with the wolves. We only could recommend this place to support and see this wonderful animals. We will come back to this beautiful place some time.... thanks!

It's great to come to Switzerland and visit this place. The irresistible nature of the beauty of the soul within this special space I assure you that you will see things that you will only find here, the words and vocabulary are many, but I will summarize them for you with only one campaign, Come and see.👌

Rare attraction but definitely worth going if you’re an animal lover. I would say more interesting for kids. The park has altogether 6 wolves, due to the river floods in 2020, some animals like the Chamois escaped as we were told. The facility is very secure, the park guides are very informative and answer all questions about the wolves, we got to see them feed the wolves, it was quite interesting.

The 1 hr 20 min journey from Nice was absolutely stunning - with the road passing through gorges and mountain tunnels and cliffs towering high on either side. Our boys (11 and 14) loved it. It was 28 degrees in Nice (mid August) but high up the Alpha Park temperature dropped to a very pleasant 21 degrees. Makes sure you get your tickets at the building next to the very tall outdoor climbing wall. Then walk along the road a little before turning left up a rough Alpine path where you will find a bridge with an automated ticket barrier. At the Park we watched one of the pack of wolves up close through one way glass as they were fed raw chicken. Amazing! And then as we were leaving another pack began howling in unison. Very special. There is a restaurant but we didn't have time to enjoy it as we had to catch a flight home. Wish we could have stayed longer.

A nice place to enjoy nature and watch wolves though I did not come at the best time. There was snow on the ground and started melting, so the road was wet, dirty and slippery (I felt twice and luckily I didn't get hurt). Remember to come before the feeding time (twice a day at 11:15 and 15:45) and not to miss the feeding though it lasts a few minutes. The wolves are around before the feeding. Seems they are/have been expanding to include more animals and activities that will make it worthwhile for the long drive up there.

Great location, well organised and friendly service. Beware it is 1500 meters up in the Alps - you need some good clothes and take some food with you... it is pretty much a wild forest so not many options to get your meals bought on location 😉

Beautiful, nice staff and very knowledgeable. Nice restaurant in the middle of the forest. Very nice moment.
