Mine
Salina Turda is a fascinating salt mine located in the Durgau-Valea Sarata area of Turda, Romania. Dating back to medieval times, it has been repurposed into an underground theme park with a mix of history and entertainment. Visitors can enter through an old entrance and walk along a long corridor leading to the main part of the mine.
Turda Salt Mine is absolutely amazing. The sheer size of the underground space is incredibly impressive. The scenery is truly unique — at least it was for me. Simply breathtaking. I do agree with other reviews that more information or explanations would enhance the experience, but overall, it's just an astonishing place.
T. M — Google review
Not as impressive as some other mines i've seen but the setup inside is quite unique and still worth a visit and a good short trip from Cluj. The lighting and the lake were unique aspects of this mine. I spent a total of 1.5 hrs in the mine at a relaxed pace it's enough to see everything. Easy directions from Cluj: Take the Fany bus from Pod Traian (search it in Maps). Buses depart thrice an hour and cost 14 lei. Upon reaching Turda you can walk 20 minutes to the old entrance (search Salina Turda old entrance on maps). Once you get into the mine from the old entrance note that there is a 8 minute walk through a long passageway to get to the central part of the mine. When returning from Turda to Cluj you can catch the Fany bus back at "Fany bus (Turda Centru)" in Google Maps. It's at the northern edge of Piata Republica.
Kevin A — Google review
This was my first mine experience, hence for me it was awesome and a must see experience in Romania! I recommend going on off season as it can get very crowded on summer. There is only one lift, then you can imagine the waiting time if you don’t want or can’t get the stairs.
Lilian R — Google review
Amazing place! We payed around 13€ and it was definitely worth it. A lot of places to sit and enjoy. There is a big line for the elevator up but the stairs aren’t that bad at all. The only problem is to get back to Turda without car, but there is a bus few times a day.
Lea T — Google review
Soooooo coooooool. I was skeptical at first but it really is a unique experience worth going to. If you’re not able to use stairs, be prepared to wait in longer lines for the elevators but I didn’t experience any wait for any stairs. The placards provided tons of great history but if you’re not into that, the pure awe of the open air subterranean mine is sure to intrigue your sensibilities nonetheless. There are plenty of activities for the little ones and I enjoyed the rowboats best. Free parking on the road before the entrance if you don’t mind walking about five minutes. Highly recommend visiting and then going into Turda for some food and shopping 🤗
Ben S — Google review
Definitely one of the most unusual attractions I’ve been to in Europe, Salina Turda is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Cluj area. The site is an easy walk from Turda town centre, although it was raining when we visited so we took a cheap taxi (I believe there is a shuttle bus too). You have to walk down quite a lengthy walkway to get to the main chamber of the salt mine - bring some warm clothing with you because it’s quite chilly once you’re in there. The sheer scale and magnitude of the main chamber are quite overpowering and provide an atmosphere which is rather eerie and daunting. There are lifts down to the bottom, but stairs are also an option. Boats can be rented on the lake, for an additional cost.
William I — Google review
A unique and impressive underground attraction. Clean, therapeutic air, beautiful salt formations, a lot of stairs and fun activities like a Ferris wheel and boat rides. A must-see in Romania!
Burghelea O — Google review
Impressively large mine and well maintained for tourists. The photos and videos speak for themselves and this is worth a visit. We exited at the 'wrong' exit, at the end of the 750 meter tunnel and ended up on the other side of the village, which was a long walk back.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Cheile Turzii, a stunning natural reserve in Cluj County, is a must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. This breathtaking gorge features well-marked trails that meander through lush landscapes, crossing charming streams and sturdy bridges. With its rich history dating back to the Roman Empire—evidenced by various artifacts—the area was designated as a Natural Reserve in 1938 and later recognized as a UNESCO natural monument.
Cheile Turzii Gorge is absolutely breathtaking! The hike alongside the river with the towering cliffs on either side was an unforgettable experience. I saw diverse bird species and the views were simply stunning. The trail was easy to follow, and the natural scenery was out of this world. Definitely a 5-star destination!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An unforgettable experience at Cheile Turzii! The landscapes are breathtaking and the trails offer both adventure and peaceful moments in nature. We enjoyed tasty traditional food, especially the grilled mici, and relaxed on comfy chairs under umbrellas with stunning views around us. Friendly atmosphere and good services — I highly recommend visiting this place!

Great place to visit. Some parking place are cheaper than others. We found for 15 ley. The valley is amaizing. Many different lanes, but be carefull, not every lane are perfectly singed. There are even mosstakes, becouse they dont care this to much. Its free, so no care.
József I — Google review
Beautiful hiking trail. I recommend using hiking gear if you plan going further and explore. You have plenty of spots where you can just sit and admire natura, besides other activities such as supervised rock climbing and cave finding(only small caves)
Muresanu D — Google review
Went on a Monday, out of season, found the parking free. The place is amazing, I never imagined one day I will see something so beautiful. Worth the trip there. The entire gorge has spectacular views all along the path.

There is no words to tell about this place. Excellent and super. We had a very good experience till end. It is a real adventure trip. You all must go to this place one day. We were there at the evening but I preferred you to go there in the morning time, then you will have enough time.

Nestled in the charming town of Gyula, Hungary, the stunning Gyula Castle is a remarkable 600-year-old Gothic structure that invites visitors to explore its rich history and breathtaking views. This beautifully refurbished castle offers an interactive experience for families, making it a perfect destination for those traveling with children. As you wander through its ancient halls and narrow circular staircases, you'll discover fascinating exhibits that bring the past to life.
This is a must visit in Gyula, one of the most important landmarks of the city, rich in history and culture. We have enjoyed our time here regardless of the rain and would recommend visiting it! 😄
Son L — Google review
Pretty cool castle! Mix of both modern and new areas although more of it is renovated than original. Cool bird outside. Each room has an exhibition and I saw some pretty cool elements which I haven’t seen in other museums before. Worth the visit if you’re in the area!
Nikol — Google review
Nice castle with the river next to it. There are hawks outside the entrance, which was very interesting. Around the river, if you walk, you find lots and lots of ducks and ducklings and other birds
Alex D — Google review
Pleasant and unique experience, an example of how a citadel built in the 15th century, can be enhanced and provide us with a lot of historical information through the owned collections and multimedia presentations. Unfortunately, the multimedia presentations are only in Hungarian, maybe in the future they will add presentations in tune or more international languages
Calin H — Google review
beautiful castle. nicely renovated. independent visiting concept. however, written descriptions were only in Hungarian.
Marius G — Google review
This is one of the most important historical landmarks of Gyula. Visiting it is a nice experience because it's nice and it's a crucial part of the city's history that dates back to hundreds of years. This is a true medieval experience that shouldn't be missed by people coming to visit Gyula. I recommend it! 👍⭐️👏💪
Mario-Liviu G — Google review
We visited the castle with our 11 and 9 year old kids, they absolutely loved it, and so did us. We paid about 38 EUR for 2 adults and 2 kids, but the tickets included visits for the Andrássy castle too. I say it's a fair price. The castle is completely restaured, there is even a real blacksmith shop on site, where you can buy for about 3 EUR a lucky horseshoe with your name on it.
Laszlo E — Google review
Gyula Castle, located in southeastern Hungary, is a beautifully preserved medieval fortress offering a unique glimpse into the country's rich history. Built in the 15th century, the brick castle features a moat, high defensive walls, and a stunning inner courtyard. Inside, visitors can explore a well-curated museum showcasing period weapons, furniture, and historical exhibits. The panoramic view from the tower is worth the climb. Seasonal reenactments and cultural events add extra charm to the visit. Its peaceful park surroundings and proximity to thermal baths make it an ideal day trip destination. Gyula Castle masterfully blends history, architecture, and leisure.

Very well organised, beautiful museum. A great place to visit if you have kids. They have many interactive exhibitions, great for kids. We visited the castle in a Sunday afternoon and it was almost empty. If you visit Gyula, don't miss this place.
Laszlo E — Google review
Great exhibition! We had a guide. Interesting stories. Teenagers enjoyed the guided tour. Magic mirror!
Eszter K — Google review
Wonderful, a place full of history. They preserved some parts from the original castle. The museum is very well done, organised and I like a lot the exhibition. You can buy a ticket to visit the temporary exhibition which unfortunately it is only in Hungarian, you can buy a ticket for the permanent exhibition which is amazing, everything is also translated in English, so that's great and you can also pay to go on the roof top of the castle to enjoy the wonderful view. Totally worth it! Enjoy!
Raluca P — Google review
The castle itself is beautiful inside and outside, great interactive exhibitions on a huge site, a very good value to money! The temporary Sissi exhibition however was small and less outstanding. It was also interactive though and they shared a lot of information about Sissi, but there weren't many of her clothes or furniture from her castle in Gödöllő, where I believe the original Sissi exhibition is. I have found the temporary exhibition a bit pricey, comparing it to the whole castles entry fee which is only 50% higher, but there are a lot more to see and do. The castle also has a brilliant gift shop, selling all sorts of things from fridge magnets to books and even umbrellas about the castle or the towns other sights and about the temporary exhibition. The on site coffee shop serves nice coffee in various tastes and delicious cakes. The terrace of the coffee is dog friendly and you can also smoke at the outside tables.
Emese S — Google review
The renewed building is very impressive, the staff and exhibitions are real professionals. The interactive parts of the exhibitions make it real joyful and fun to the entire family; go with your kids and all of you will enjoy the story and also the history. 😊🏰🗡⚔️🛡🙏🏼👽
Peter ( — Google review
This castle exceeded my expectations! It was traditional, full of history but very modern (with the newest interior decor trends) at the same time. If you visit this place, you can learn a lot about the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries’ lifestyle and how people lived, worked and behaved, what the etiquette was how the children learnt, what fashion trends were impressive at that time. It can take 2-3 hours to see everything and I am not kidding!
Lilla K — Google review
Very nicely renovated, displaying a lot of artifacts that take you back in time. New technology implemented to help visitors experience past times. Visited also a Herendi porcelan exhibition in one section of the castle, it was quite impresive. Highly recommend to visit.
Alex P — Google review
The castle itself is really nice with interactive pieces being present for the visitors. However, I was very sad when I saw a real pen with ink asking me to write my letter, yet we didn't receive any paper to write on. I still recommend visiting the museum, but be aware, that you should spend at least 2 hours just to walk through and take a look at things.

Can’t give more than 1star…. This is a place like passing in the last 20 years, the place has potential ,but everything is almost ready to die… closed pools , anti socialize lady at the entrance, nobody smiling, creeepy, spider web …
Adela K — Google review
Most of the pools are closed and absolutely no child friendly pool. The reception staff did not warn us about all kids being closed and was extremely rude when asked for a refund 30 mins after checking in. We met other elderly people who had travelled all the way from Budapest for the thermal spa only to find most of them closed.
Kuldeep P — Google review
The location is very big and quite. This location has so many pools: inside pools with hot water, outside pool with hot water, kids pool, normal pool for everybody and big outdoor swimming pool. We ate in one of the restaursnts and was amazing. Was buffet type and the food was so good. The staff from the information is extremely poor prepared. Only one giirl talking english language also but the another one is talking only magyar langauge and biiig fake smile. Even if the location has signs in 3 different languages: Magyar English Romanian

Couldn't use these facilities because we didn't have Hungarian vaccine visa. It was OK to mix with the people who were able to use them and staying in the same hotel, using the same bars and restaurants......but not able to mix with them in the spa 😡😡😡

Showcasing Hungarian history through paintings, monuments, open-air museum village and horse shows.
This is one of the cool places in Csongrad! It’s a very interesting place with very nice sculptures, statues, monuments and exhibitions. The place is kinda big but it’s easy to walk around as many benches are available to rest. It’s full with Hungarian heritages and histories. Different parts of the area have different displays and you’ll be entertained with each part of the park. It’s truly a worth place to visit.
Luqman H — Google review
Very worth a visit if you are interested in the Hungarian history. The Feszty painting is also worth to check out since you are there for once, very stunning. The whole open air park is so big that you can spend a whole day. There is only one buffet which has some food choices, would recommend to bring some of your own food and picnic when weather is very nice.
Panni — Google review
Ópusztaszer is an amazing park that everyone should visit if they want to immerse themselves in Hungarian culture. The Magyars are considered the ancestors of modern Hungarians. Within the park, some areas lack sufficient English explanations, which can make them less engaging for international visitors. However, the majority of the exhibits are well presented. That said, certain sections would benefit from clearer explanations and stronger connections between the historical elements. At times, important parts of history are either skipped or only briefly mentioned, which makes it harder to fully appreciate the significance of the park. Most of the staff do not speak English, but they are helpful and will provide the necessary information if asked. A map is included with the ticket for your convenience. The park also hosts many activities and folklore programs, though during the summer season a significant number of them are closed. There are three types of tickets available: Entrance, Feszty, and Extra. I recommend purchasing the Extra ticket unless you already have a strong knowledge of Hungarian history and can fully understand what you are seeing. The 3D movie, while not particularly extraordinary, offers useful historical context. The Feszty Panorama is an impressive cyclorama painting, with its edges curving around the viewer. The experience is enhanced by three-dimensional elements such as terrain, grass, and props, which blend seamlessly into the painting and add a sense of realism. Some additional historical details I found through my own research (information that is not provided within the park) include the following: The Magyars were a confederation of tribes from the Ural region of Eastern Europe and Western Siberia. They settled in the Carpathian Basin by conquering the Slavs in 895 under the leadership of Árpád. According to legend, Emese, a young woman of royal Magyar lineage, had a prophetic dream. In her vision, a great Turul bird appeared above her, spreading its wings as if to protect her and the child she carried. This dream foretold that her son would grow into a great leader destined to guide the Magyars to a new homeland. The Turul, a mythical bird of prey often described as a falcon or hawk, is regarded in Magyar tradition as both a divine messenger and a guardian spirit. Emese gave birth to Álmos, whose name literally means “dream” in Hungarian, symbolizing the importance of her vision. Álmos’s son, Árpád, became the chieftain who led the Magyars into the Carpathian Basin around 895 CE, establishing their homeland. The seven chieftains sealed their alliance through the “Blood Oath” (Vérszerződés), by cutting their arms and letting their blood drip into a shared vessel.
Christina M — Google review
Loved the park: a lot of shade, a lot of items from different times in history and a very competent restaurant for lunch. We enjoyed it a lot.
Cristian O — Google review
Very interesting experience. If you want to pay respect to Hungarian histort and learn more about it, the site is definitely worth visiting. If there were more bi-lingual texts, you could learn even more, but those are predominantly in Hungarian only. The structures are fantastic and I hope it will be more (there is definitely spare place). The staff usually doesn't speak English but is very nice. Except of the guide lady in the Panorama, who has been rude and hostile towards foreigners. But there is always somebody... Overall experience very good. Mentioned Panorama is stunning and very realistic in its depiction of the historical event. It also has good voiceover in English (ask for it in advance).
Igor S — Google review
It is a huge park that encompasses the entire history of the Hungarians, from their arrival in the Pannonian Plain, with many statues, yurts, exhibition pavilions and recreated villages. Very interesting and relaxing to visit. Please allow more time for your visit. (3-4 hours)
Monica A — Google review
Not well maintained (gravel and dirt on pavements), all yurts (and their expositions) closed! All descriptions in Hungarian, only a few remarks in English. Staff at ticket counter hardly speaks English (had to call somebody). Maybe interesting if you understand Hungarian. Staff keen of getting me into the shop and cafeterias. They receive financial support from EU, why don't they have to provide good quality and English texts? Not recommended.

The Alba-Carolina Citadel in Alba Iulia is a massive star-shaped fortress that houses museums, ornate churches, cafes, bars, and even a medieval-themed hotel. It's the largest fortress in Romania, built between 1715 and 1738 with 12 kilometers of walls and bastions at each corner.

Beautiful place and well designed / renovated to be for everyone. You can take a stroll and admire the view, you can eat, drink, sit and even bike around. We were lucky and stumbled upon an reenactment event with lots of romans and dacians and even barbarians.

Beautiful and walkable citadel. The best in Romania. Not only can you see the inside, you can also walk the perimeter which has restaurants, parks all on a nicely built path. So much to see and so much walking to do! This place also has an incredible amount of history and you're able to enter the halls and churches inside. Has some old Roman ruins as well. Overall, a must visit.

✅ The Alba Carolina Citadel is a stunning star-shaped fortress located in Alba Iulia, Romania, and it’s one of the most impressive Vauban-style fortifications in Eastern Europe 🌟. Built between 1715 and 1738 during the Habsburg rule, it was designed by Italian architect Giovanni Morando Visconti and later completed by other engineers. 🏰 Highlights of the Citadel - Seven Bastions: Each named after saints or historical figures, forming the iconic star shape. The citadel features seven gates, aligned along an east-west axis known as the Tourist Route of the Citadel. Inside, you’ll find the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St. Michael, the Coronation Cathedral, museums, gardens, and monuments like the equestrian statue of Michael the Brave. 🎟️Free Access: Open day and night for walks, with museums and cafes operating on their own schedules. I highly recommend it to visit once in your life! 🔝 Visited September 2025

Water & Amusement Parks
Sunshine Aquapolis Szeged is an energetic waterpark that boasts both indoor and outdoor waterslides, as well as swimming pools and a sauna. It's the perfect place to spend your weekend with family and friends. To save money, it's recommended to purchase full-day tickets which grant access from 8am to 8pm. The thermal bath area is particularly beneficial for overall body health and stress relief.
A must here in Szeged. If you love water and sun, you need to visit. I bought the full day ticket. Bought an extra Spa massage. All the pools, interior and exterior have warm water so, no worries about the atmospheric temperature being cold. Well, today, 3th of May 2025 the air temperature was 30°C. Great for families, couples, lovers...even for a lonely soul like me. Highly recommended.
Paulo L — Google review
If you’re into waterslides, you should definitely visit! Maybe a bit pricier than nearby spa centers at Mako and Moraholom which are a bit better value for money.
Dule V — Google review
The water park is open all year round and offers water entertainment for both children and adults. Hot water pools, slides, treatment pools, jacuzzi pools, etc.
Calin H — Google review
The place is pretty fun, has lots of different pools, even with warmer water for younger kids or colder water for “older kids”. There are places for food and drinks on the inside but you are also allowed with your own food and drinks. You can even buy water toys and floaters. There is covered, paid parking under the water park. There are plenty of slides and a lazy river that becomes pretty fast at times. There are different places that you can lay down on, inside and outside. I can’t give it a 5 star because our aqua park in Timișoara looks much better, this one feeling pretty old.
Aioanei T — Google review
The Aquapark is just big enough for a family of 4 to spend 1 day. We had moved into 7 different pools from which 2 were outside ( one was baby/kids only). There are heated water pools that have more than 32 degrees and there are 2 hot pools that I guess are over 40 or 45 and these 2 had yellowish water so I presume have some minerals into it also (did not spend more than 15 seconds there as the kids were not interested in this). To eat there is quick food place near the outside pools where they serve chicken nuggets, hamburger, pasta and bevareges. It is visible that this place is not new and there several items that show the passage of time or the big number of usages (some restbeds were recoloured and showed multiple usage torns). Because of the several things on cleanliness I gave it 4 stars, in the bathrooms the ceiling was looking damp and broken and with black spots. From the slides part I could say they are pretty awesome. Two of them you go with the lift and they are quite long with many turns. Three are at 2nd level and other 3 are at first level. If you want to take kids to a pool and slides for 1-2 days this place is good and very affordable.
Daniel G — Google review
I honestly expected more for that price. You enter, and then you have to pay for the sunbeds, and the parking, and the towels for the sauna. I liked the fact that it wasn't crowded at all, especially in the SPA area that belongs to the hotel. Loved the saunas, and the jacuzzi.
Ramona N — Google review
The slides are diverse enough, but quite outdated. They charge you for parking (2 eur/hour) and prices for beverages are quite high. All in all, I think there is better value for money in other hungarian waterparks. But still, a good place to chill and have fun with kids.
Iulian H — Google review
Really excellent day out. Not crowded at all on a weekday in August, many slides of various adrenaline levels, lazy river, “cave,” lots of interesting structures to swim through and around. No deep water other than under one particular slide, and that area is only reached via the slide itself (there’s another small slide going down from the landing area, so there’s no way for a child to suddenly find themselves in water over their head.) You get a digital “watch” at the entrance which grants access to various areas and also unlocks your locker (no coins required). “Safe deposit” boxes are also available for rental behind the desk if you want more security for your phone/passports. Multiple pools at different temperatures; huge indoor and outdoor spaces. Lots of available places to sit or lie down. We mostly stayed inside because of the blazing sun—there was more than enough to keep my kids busy without needing to bother every two hours with sunscreen. You’re supposed to wear flip flops whenever outside the pool but we didn’t have them and no one said anything. Well worth a trip to Szeged.

The Fortress of Deva

Mentioned on

Tourist information center
Sights & Landmarks
Cetatea Devei is a medieval fortress situated on the top of a volcanic hill that offers a panoramic view of the city of Deva. To reach the fortress, visitors can either take an inclined lift or walk up from the city park. The elevator ride costs 20 RON for adults and 10 RON for children. It is recommended to take the elevator up and then walk down to enjoy the scenery.
It’s quite hard to climb all the way up the stairs, but it’s definitely worth it once you reach the top. At night, the view from above is absolutely beautiful, with the lights shining below and a gentle breeze that makes the experience even more special.
Becca — Google review
Bring your walking shoes as there’s plenty to be done here. The cable car was not working but you can drive most of the way (keep an eye out for the small signs). Prepare yourself for 200+ stairs. Well worth the visit as there are some fantastic look out points. Would have been great to learn some history of the fortress. Perhaps some QR codes of plaques with information. It’s clearly had a bit of a refurbishment, but some more information for tourists would have earned that extra star.
Ste A — Google review
The castle is in a nice condition, but room and glass building are completely empty, nothing to see. Actually if you go up with the elevator, not so much things to see, option to do. Elevator works till 5pm which is to short opening hours, a lot of people arrived just before 5pm, we had to go back on the next day.
Zsolt D — Google review
A great place to visit if you're nearby. The stairs are very steep, but you can walk around them on a regular path. The views from the top are great, but there aren't enough descriptions of the place.
Pawel B — Google review
Many stairs to conquer, but definitely worth it. The view is nice, especially at night. The renovation in the past years paid off.
Marius A — Google review
It might be beautiful up there but we were unable to reach up due to the telegondola technical issues. The children are too small to climb up. The page is not updated with when it working or if is not working the telegondola. We travelled 4 hours to go up and we went back disappointed. I gave 2 stars for the lady from the informations which was very nice and because the toilets were really clean.
Mikky M — Google review
The actual fortress is great with gorgeous views. Getting to it, it's a different story, the funicular was not working, the streets to get up there are very narrow and difficult to navigate, coming down the same thing. I could have skipped it.

Wow! The Acropolis of Deva! Perched up on a volcanic hill towering over the city! It was majestic and thoroughly worth the short walk in the intense heat, after the shuttle bus ride up most of the way. The views are breathtaking! A highlight of my trip to Romania.

Subotica Municipal Hall is located in the center of Subotica, about 10 minutes' walk from the bus station. It is a beautiful building, with its spire reaching 85 meters above the ground. It is hard to miss it in Subotica. The building has a beautiful appearance, and the interior decoration and layout are also worth seeing. The furniture is beautifully decorated, which is an important embellishment of the building itself. If you are interested, you can also climb the tower of the town hall to get a glimpse of the entire city. This is one of the attractions that cannot be missed when visiting Subotica. To enter, you just need to arrive at the main entrance of the Blue Fountain before 12:00 and wait. A guide will guide tourists and give explanations.

Such an incredible architecture! It is possible to visit the city hall from Tuesday through Saturday with the guided tour starting at noon. The tours are provided in Serbian, English and Hungarian. The entrance fee is 200RSD, and if you want to climb the tower it is additional 200RSD.

just fantastic! the architecture is beautiful inside and outside. I’ve been here three times with tours in Serbian and English, and both guides were great. for just 400 dinars you’ll understand much more about subotica and also you will see the city from the city hall tower! highly recommended!

Really beautiful building in Art Noveau style, a must do for those visiting Subotica (along with the synagogue). You can visit the building every day at noon (except Sunday), when there is a tour both in English, Serbian and Hungarian. You can choose to only visit the building or also climb the tower. The price for building is 200 dinars, and for the tower another 200. The view from the tower is amazing, if you can climb up it's highly recommended.

The area offers gentle hiking paths and biking trails, making it perfect for leisurely exploration. Visitors can also enjoy boat hire to cruise the tranquil waters of the lake or take a stroll around its shores. With an artificial island that is home to over 200 bird species, Palic Lake provides a unique opportunity for birdwatching enthusiasts.
Very beautiful artificial lake. The area around is so clean and nice for walking! There is no trash on the grass and out of the trash can. Benches are at every step, so you can sit and enjoy beautiful nature. It is the must see if you go to Subotica. Don’t miss it! It is definitely worth seeing.

Palić Lake and its nature are true gems of northern Serbia and the city of Subotica. The entire area is beautifully and tastefully arranged, with the park and lake surroundings kept clean. There’s a path for cycling, walking, or jogging, lined with plenty of benches where you can sit and rest. The wooden dock on the lake is perfect for those seeking a nice tan and enjoying sunbathing under the open sky. A bit further down, there’s a beach with umbrellas and lounge chairs. Unfortunately, the lake water is polluted and not suitable for swimming. Apart from that, everything else is just as it should be. Highly recommended for people visiting with children or pets, as well as anyone else looking to spend a day in the well-maintained nature of Palić nature park.
Dejan J — Google review
A nice place for a walk or picnic. There aren't many different activities there, but you can rent something like a bicycle and ride around on the asphalt there or on a pedal boat on the lake. It seemed that there was also some kind of boat that could be used for a round trip on the lake. Free parking area for cars.
Teele H — Google review
You should visit this place so nice have a lot of trees and relaxing 😌 😎
Nubl M — Google review
Visited the undeveloped area of the lake. Good place for fishing and great for bird watching. But the access is difficult, and the only infrastructure are some bird watching platforms along the only and poorly marked and maintained cycling & hiking path around the lake. A good place to escape into nature, close to town, well, if you know where to go. If not, there is always the developed part of the lake at Palić town.

Quiet place, but the lake view is nice. Good for walk around, little playground for kids and also some restaurant nearby.

Beautiful place, big park, a lot of attractions and activities but don’t count on having a swim or going in the lake because it’s not clean. No one is in it. Make sure to sit on benches and to visit Zoo and the great entrance of the park. Food is really good.

Castelul Corvinilor, also known as Corvins' Castle, is a Renaissance fortress that was reconstructed in the 19th century. This well-preserved Gothic masterpiece has been featured in several movies and is one of the largest castles in Europe. It holds historical significance as it was rumored to be the place where Vlad the Impaler, also known as Dracula, was imprisoned for several years.
Loved it. It is everything you'd hope a castle would be. Along with its rich history, the castle still has many of its Gothic architectural features, some remaining frescoes, endless staircases, passages, rooms and towers to explore. A whole lot of fun. We managed to get there just as it was opening, and being the first ones to enter had the castle to ourselves, at least for a short while. Definitely one of my favourite castles in Romania.
Chris B — Google review
Incredible experience. Also great on Halloween, as it's very spooky and theme decorated. The torture chambers were also spooky, and I do not recommend entering with a child that's not above 12+. It's very spaceful and wasn't that busy! One of the best castles I've been too and definitely recommend visiting it!
Sara S — Google review
The castle is impressive from the outside but inside there are predominantly empty rooms. However, it's fun too walk through corridors, stairs and passages. There is an amazing view from one of the towers. The nearest parking is 20 lei per day.
Tanya K — Google review
We did a daytrip to Hunedoara from Sibiu. Initially I planned to visit it on our way to Timisoara, but it would fall on a Monday, and on Mondays the castle opens at noon which would affect our plans for the day. Street parking around the castle is tight as they closed the parking lot for some reason. Admission is heavy by Romanian standards at 50 lei (25 lei for seniors) but it's worth it. The castle is very well kept and the interior looks pretty modern in spots but the castle is large and impressive. I'm no fan of medieval castles but this one is a must.
Ron S — Google review
The castle was very impressive and beautiful. There was plenty to see and do there as a castle/medieval period enthusiast. The price of entry was reasonable 50lei/adult. Only few downsides were that the castle was under renovation (it's understandable) and that guidance in the castle was confusing. The rooms had numbers but they were all mixed up.
Lassi N — Google review
I had the great pleasure of visiting Hunedoara Castle, also known as Corvin Castle. This magnificent fortress, located in Transylvania, was originally built in the 15th century by John Hunyadi, one of Hungary’s most powerful noblemen and military leaders. The castle served both as a stronghold and a noble residence, and over the centuries it has witnessed many historical events, legends, and even dark tales that add to its mysterious charm. It is an amazing place that truly allows you to feel the atmosphere of real medieval times, with its massive towers, stone courtyards, and slightly dark interiors that whisper stories from the past. There aren’t many tourists, the parking area is close to the castle, and overall it’s not an expensive trip. The panoramic view from the castle walls is breathtaking! Definitely, this place is worth visiting — go there and step back in time! It's worth to arrive at place to see the castle during day and night - two different stories & effect! WOW....gothic style is really DARK at night! Some tailes connected: There is a rumor that Dracula - Vlad III (Vlad the Impaler), the ruler of Wallachia, was imprisoned here for seven years. See added pictures - as you can see the tradition of impaing still "lives". Corvin Castle could have been the model (or at least one of the models) for the fictional “Castle Dracula” because of its dramatic Gothic-look and its connection to Vlad. The Legend of Hunedoara Castle Just after building the castle, its lord-builder, John Hunyadi, ordered a great well to be dug in the courtyard. He promised freedom to the Turkish prisoners who could find water in the rocky ground. For years, they worked day and night, carving through stone with hope and desperation. After fifteen long years, water finally sprang from the earth. But instead of granting them freedom, Hunyadi broke his promise. Before the prisoners were executed, one of them carved an inscription on the well’s wall: “You have water, but no soul.” - see one of the pic. (in arab). To this day, the well still stands in the castle yard — and some say that at night, if you listen closely, you can hear the echo of the prisoners’ voices rising from its depths.
Slawomir P — Google review
Among the few castles in Romania, it is in the process of renovation. Over the years, different parts of the castle have been opened for visits and you can climb in all the towers. The steps of the stairs are high and not easy to climb if you are not trained. Unfortunately, the landscape around the castle is not special, the castle being in an old communist industrial area. You can also visit recreated torture chambers.
Monica A — Google review
We didn’t get inside the castle, it was too expensive (50 Lei per person). The castle is beautiful. They started to refurbish the castle so some of it covered at this time. There are few souvenirs stores on the way to castle and we loved them - lots of beautiful souvenirs, very nice. A parking near by (can’t remember the price, around 20 Lei). Toilets at the parking for 3 Lei.

Sarmizegetusa Regia is an ancient archaeological site located on a mountaintop, featuring fortress and temple ruins dating back to the 2nd century CE. Once serving as the capital of the Dacian Kingdom, this town was situated atop a 1200-meter-high mountain and enclosed by massive stone blocks. Accessible via a challenging road followed by a woodland path, the site offers visitors a chance to explore megalithic artifacts amidst lush vegetation.
Very nice trip. At the base of Sarmizegetusa there are plenty of parking lots. From the car you walk in nature about 1 km to Sarmizegetusa. Beautiful piece of history of the Dacians. You can spend 1.30 hours there. Very relaxing.

Amazing place and experience, it's really well kept and you don't really need hiking equipment to go up there. A big plus is the entrance fee is really cheap. They have an on-site spring with drinkable water near the ruins and toilets near the entrance. We visited this place on a public holiday (1st of June) and there were plenty of parking spaces available. Be careful when driving up there, the road is narrow and some people forget that. Drive safe! A must go to location whenever you are in Hunedoara county. Will definetly visit again.

The "Three Holy Hierarchs" Metropolitan Cathedral is a remarkable Neo-Moldavian Romanian Orthodox cathedral located in its own park on the south side of Piata Victoriei. It is a technical marvel, able to accommodate 5,000 worshippers under its nine towers. The cathedral's design was influenced by Medieval Byzantine churches of Moldavia and features a cavernous interior without columns, made possible through the use of reinforced concrete.
We stopped by the Metropolitan Cathedral on a warm afternoon and were truly touched by its peaceful and majestic presence. The architecture is stunning, both inside and out, but what really took us by surprise was the Cathedral Museum located in the basement. It’s a must-visit – featuring an impressive collection of religious icons on wood, glass, and canvas, beautifully embroidered and sculpted sacred objects, as well as a remarkable selection of old religious books. It adds so much depth to the experience and gives visitors a real appreciation for the spiritual and artistic heritage of the area. Truly a serene and enriching place.

The Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral in Timișoara is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and a true architectural masterpiece. Its imposing Neo-Romanian design, adorned with distinctive mosaics and stained-glass windows, dominates the main boulevard. The interior radiates warmth and spiritual peace, decorated with beautiful icons and frescoes. The cathedral also holds great historical significance, especially during the events of 1989, making it a place of silent tribute. A visit here leaves a lasting impression and offers a glimpse into Romania’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

Must vist place in belgrade serbia. The Fortress is a must visit when in the city. Originally built by the Romans in the 1st century AD, the fortress has seen countless empires rise and fall including Byzantine, Hungarian, Ottoman, and Austrian, each leaving its own mark. The Ottomans, who ruled Belgrade for nearly two centuries, rebuilt and expanded large parts of the fortress. You can still see traces of their presence in the design of the gates, the remains of the mosque near the Upper Town, and the general layout that reflects their military architecture. The surrounding Kalemegdan Park adds charm to the visit, offering shaded paths, sculptures, and views across the rivers. Key highlights within the fortress include the Victor Monument, and the Military Museum, which houses weapons from various periods of Serbian and Balkan. Great history, great view, great vepons

Clean. Well maintained. Free entry. Has free public toilets. Good place to explore and have a walk. The views of New Belgrade and the Danube are amazing.

It is a beautiful place. No entry ticket to most of the places. View of the rivers is beautiful. It was cloudy during our stasis we missed sunset. Chapel is worth visiting

Beautiful, I mean a must visit in Belgrade and free, lots of tanks and anti tanks outside, nice park, read the small signs along the walking it will tell you more about the history of it.

We went here on a walking tour of Belgrade. It is well laid out and provides a great setting to learn about the history of the area, city, and country. There are plaques throughout with some information but so much can be understood just by looking a the location to understand why it was a critical place for a fortification.
Thomas W — Google review
Cool views of the city, some armored vehicles on display at the gates, nothing too special. I liked reading the informative labels throughout the fortress, they were detailed. You can climb on some of the walls, other than that there are some basketball/tennis courts right outside that don’t really match the vibe.

I went here on the 31/8/2025 and I had such a bad experience. The park looked like it was from a war zone with trash, used syringes, faeces, urine and weeds everywhere. Really third world country conditions. It was full of people begging and homeless people that were screaming at the top of their lungs for no reason and the area generally felt really unsafe. I would not recommend visiting it under no circumstances. So sad

Skadarlija, often referred to as the bohemian quarter of Belgrade, is a charming vintage street that captures the essence of artistic life in Serbia. Nestled within the Stari Grad municipality, this vibrant neighborhood is just a short stroll from Republic Square. Once home to artists associated with the National Theatre in the 19th century, Skadarlija has transformed into a lively hub known for its traditional kafanas—Serbian restaurants where live music fills the air both day and night.

I went here on the 31/8/2025 and the street from what I’ve heard it’s supposed to be the best and most charming street in the country. The standards here must be very low because when I was here it was completely dead until 3:00 pm. Not a single soul on sight until late in the afternoon. The street was also extremely filthy with trash, vomit, feaces, urine and used syringes everywhere on the ground. It looked like it was never cleaned or in general taken care of in its life. When it got a bit lively it felt unsafe because it was full of pickpockets. It was extremely sad to see many people begging in the street. Some very young. It broke my heart and left me with a heavy heart my whole stay in Belgrade. A real shame

The Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade is a tribute to the life and work of the renowned electrical engineer, Nikola Tesla. Housed in a charming residential villa, it showcases his personal effects, instruments, and original drawings that revolutionized energy production and distribution. The museum offers both memorial exhibits and interactive displays featuring 3D computer-generated models of Tesla's inventions.
Since im a science subject fan,i was excited to visit this museum. We had a reservation so it was a skip the line entry. Entrance fee was 100 serbian dinar for a group of more than 10.Its interesting to see Nilola Tesla's ideas put into a beautiful work.
R.A G — Google review
The plus side - it’s set up very well to learn more about the history, life and work of Tesla, and there are some great opportunities to see working models of some of his inventions, along with personal artifacts. The down side is that the museum is fairly small, and with large groups, it can be pretty crowded. There is also no way to secure tickets ahead of time, unless you’re with a larger group, and you can only pay in cash.
Lindsay B — Google review
Big disappointment. 1) at least the price is ok , 800 dinars , it’s NOT possible to book online or NOT able to pay with CARD , so you have to wait outside in the rain until they will let you know if you can enter or not since the tour can only accommodate maximum 60 people. I’m not sure why they don’t count 60 people that enter at the gate and then tell the other ones to come back in one hour instead of letting us wait in the rain for an hour. 2) this is actually a very small exhibition, I think the exhibition area is the size of an apartment. It feels more like a high school class lab room than an actual museum. The guide told us that the city is building a bigger and better museum because is very small. ( I think the size has been okay until Elon Musk became famous with the Tesla cars so people started knowing about Nicola Tesla, this is probably the reason why 99% of the people knows about Nicola Tesla) 3) 60 people get crammed on plastic foldable chair chairs in a small room. You feel like a sardine and then they show you a 15 minute video made 10 years ago about the life of Nicola Tesla. 4) then you have 15 minutes where the guide turns on 3 or 4 instruments that Tesla invented. Nothing special if you go to any serious science museum you we’ll see a better and bigger version of this instruments. Not mentioning that you are climbed into a very small room that you can’t even move. 5) then you have another 10 minutes to see a few objects that belonged to Nicola Tesla and then after 45 minutes .
Scotch&Soda — Google review
The museum itself is tiny, they only accept local currency in cash. No forex or card accepted. There is no online ticket to purchase, you need to keep standing in queue for hours for hourly slot. Try to avoid last hours as if its full, regardless of time you been standing they wont allow you to come as they can accept people more then its capacity. Once you are inside, the tour is good, they guide you everywhere
* B — Google review
The museum takes 45 minutes to go around. But that's mainly because you have to wait 5-10 minutes to go through ticketing (and they only accept cash rather than card), and then you have to wait for everyone to get seated. They pack a lot of people into this space so it takes a long time to be ready. The video goes for 15 minutes and probably could be updated and sped up. But realistically you should be abke visit the museum and just skip the video if you want to. They do some good experiment demonstrations, but again, could probably run them twice an hour get more people through the facility - there winds up being so many people in the group that not everyone gets a decent view. overall it's not bad and gives an inside into the man and some of his activities but it's a very small museum.
Brent J — Google review
Just don’t bother to get there . We were waiting for 3 hours as only 60 people can enter each time . You pay only cash and watching for half an hour something that you could easily find on YouTube , then the tour guide shares live some experiments (for kids) and then on the same floor you can check a few personal things of Tesla and his ashes 😏 Just don’t waste your time and money . Belgrade is beautiful choose something else .
Barbara Z — Google review
Interesting experience very educating. The visits can only be done in guided groups but even on a busy day the wait was not too long. The experiments were fun. A lot of personal items of Tesla are on display. I do not recommend this museum for very young children since there’s a 15 min film and a small 20-30 min tour. They might get bored and interrupt the experience for others.
Zoe S — Google review
Not worth the visit. A lot of waiting for a video made in 2015. Explanation not in good English easy to understand. 60 people in each tour you cannot see things well. Not enough seats. I’ve learned more from him in science museums. You cannot pay by card!!! You have to pay cash and local currency!!! You cannot book and then a disappointment.

Nestled in the vibrant Vracar district of Belgrade, the Temple of Saint Sava stands as a monumental testament to Byzantine-inspired architecture. This 20th-century marvel is not only one of the largest Orthodox churches globally but also features an awe-inspiring central dome that dominates the skyline, making it a must-see for any traveler. Its grandeur and intricate design draw visitors from all corners, eager to experience its spiritual ambiance and historical significance.
It is one of the top attractions in the capital. It is massive and very peaceful. A very classic Cathedral of Orthodox religion. The top floor visually is breathtaking. The bottom floor is more like visual images on the walls. Make sure that you visit. Totally recommended.
Mustafa A — Google review
A mustsee when visiting Belgrade! This is truly one of the prettiest churches I’ve ever seen and that’s coming from someone who’s only seen churches in America and Mexico. Everywhere I turned, there was another piece of art to admire; it was deeply moving, especially with the soft singing in the background. Downstairs, there’s also a newer art exhibition that beautifully complements the main space. I loved seeing the attention to detail and the richness of the religious artwork throughout. Absolutely a spot you shouldn’t miss.
Emily B — Google review
Beautiful church inside and outside with many icons and an epicenter of Orthodox Christianity. If you are not knowledgeable of Serbia or Orthodox Christianity, would recommend a tour guide, especially if you are from a different culture. I visited many churches alone, but some tourists don't understand the history and a guide would be a good idea.
Spencer B — Google review
One of Belgrade’s most iconic landmarks, and in my opinion it deserves even more international recognition. The Temple of Saint Sava is one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, built on the site where Saint Sava’s relics were burned by the Ottomans in 1595. The idea to construct a grand church in his honor dates back to the 19th century, but the actual building process only began in 1935 and continued, through wars, occupations, and political changes, until the 21st century. The exterior is monumental, while the interior is truly breathtaking: golden mosaics, marble details, and a serene underground crypt that is worth visiting on its own. Easily accessible, beautifully illuminated at night, and one of the absolute must-see places in Belgrade.

The most beautiful, The Church of Saint Sava is a Serbian Orthodox church in the Vračar plateau in Belgrade, Serbia. It is the largest Orthodox church in Serbia, one of the largest Eastern Orthodox churches and it ranks among the largest churches in the world. You woll be lost in its beauty once you are inside. I went here on the 31/8/2025 at 8:00 am sharp since I wanted to see the church without the crowds and I must say this place really disappointed me. The square in front of it it’s completely destroyed and the floor is shattered. It’s full of weeds, trash, faeces, urine and used syringes and it looked like it was never cared for or cleaned. In front to the entrance if the church there were many homeless people. Many young and many well past they nineties. It was so sad seeing those people coming to h crying and begging for food. It shattered my heart and left me with a heavy heart for my whole stay in Belgrade. The church is beautiful inside but it’s unfortunately not looked after properly. It was very crowded and there were pieces of trash and debris everywhere. It looked like it lacked maintenance and the staff wouldn’t stop staring at me and talking with themself while they were pointing at me and making obvious rude comments. It made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. If you are in Belgrade I suggest you coming here but beware it won’t be as you may expect it unfortunately. Such a shame

Well-preserved, medieval fortified city with river views, now used as a park with occasional events.
I wonted to visit Smederevo Fortress since my childhood, and I did it. Magnificent build from medieval era. Worth every effort. Structure is very robust but that how it was built. Local People should do more on marketing, more on cleaning outside the building, remove run down ruins what ever it is, just bulldozer it. I know that the republic of Serbia is a poor but hang on, the structure is of very significant value for us Serbs and Europe too. It is almost in the city centre, just walking distance of about 300m away. Lots of parking spots around fortress and it is for free.
Boris B — Google review
A great place. The keep is quite large but easily seen in about 30 mins to 1 hour. It's fun to climb onto the walls and walk through the towers. There's not much in the way of a museum anywhere so maybe do some research about the site before you get there.

The Smederevo Fortress is a truly impressive historical site and one of the greatest symbols of Serbia’s medieval heritage. Inside, there is a beautiful, well-kept park — peaceful, green, and perfect for walking while imagining what life once looked like behind these mighty walls. The view of the Danube is spectacular, especially in the evening when the sunlight reflects off the river and creates an unforgettable atmosphere. However, the fortress walls could be better maintained, as some parts look unstable and deserve more care and restoration. Despite that, the place radiates history, strength, and beauty. It’s a must-visit for anyone who loves culture, architecture, and places that tell stories of the past.

The Smederevo Fortress is one of the largest medieval fortresses in the Balkans, located in the city of Smederevo, on the banks of the Danube River. It was built between 1428 and 1430 by Despot Đurađ Branković and his wife Jerina.

It's a beautifully preserved castle where people can spend quality time, exercise, and enjoy the beautiful weather. A 250 RSD ticket is required to enter the inner section, but the outer part is, of course, free. It's a great place to enjoy with the family. And the river view is also worth to see.

Manasija Monastery, located in the Resava river gorge about 135km southeast of Belgrade, is a walled Serbian Orthodox complex dating back to 1418. The monastery served as a fortified refuge for artists and writers fleeing the Turkish invasion and features mammoth walls with 11 towers. Despite surviving various foreign rulers and battles over its more than 600-year history, it retains some original frescoes and a mosaic floor.
The best time to visit is on a weekday and in mild weather, so you can fully experience the peaceful energy of this ancient fortress without crowds. ✅ Why is it special? – The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming—you can even bring your dog! 🐕 (A rare exception for monasteries.) – The church is home to breathtaking frescoes, and the whole place feels deeply spiritual and serene. – The monastery shop offers unique souvenirs—I highly recommend the raspberry syrup and natural cosmetics. 🍇🛍️ 🌿 What’s nearby? After visiting, you can explore more hidden gems: 📍 Resava Cave (30-minute drive) 💦 Veliki Buk Waterfall 🌲 Eco-trail (starting from Izvor Lisine restaurant) 🚗 There’s a large parking area by the river—perfect for a picnic. And if you’re lucky, you might spot a herd of sheep grazing nearby! 🐑

It was very challenging how to explain horror of the Second World War and what really happened on this place so long ago. This memorial park and the Museum are places that have to been seen. Beautiful, peaceful place in Kragujevac city with lots of history behind every monument in it. Definitely worth of visiting although it left you with sadness and bitter taste.

A popular place for a walk with your family, friends or pets if you're in Kragujevac. Every October 21. there is a cultural show named "Veliki školski čas" where there are plays and a choir that is there to remind us of the tragic moments that our country's kids had to go through. You can catch a couple of people exercising on any other day of the year. All in all a breathtaking place everyone should visit.

A great place to visit in the city. There are many old things and buildings in the fortress that you should see. At the entrance there is a public toilet that is free, and in front of it a souvenir shop. There are two small trains here for the youngest who want to enjoy a walk through the park in a different way. A large part of the fortress is under deep shadows. The whole place is with lush vegetation and lots of greenery. Here you will see the remains of an old church, a mosque, a lapidarium, visit museums and many other things. In August, one of the most famous music festivals in the region, Nisville, takes place. It is worth visiting.

Good park, with some attractions around. Has a place for coffee, several souvenir shops, and an open stage with events (might be available online, but I'm not sure). There was no entry fee nor ticket required, but it could be only for this visit. It has a miniature locomotive which provides a sightseeing tour, not sure if it is guided. We parked at a public payed parking, but at the end of the work time for Saturday, but we found it a bit difficult for people who do not have a local Sim card. There is an app, but requires an account which we did not bother to make. Nearly there is a bazaar which has WONDERFUL produce at EXTREMELY affordable prices. Those aromas and tastes took me back to my childhood at my grandma's house - just wonderful, highly recommend!!!

Ancient Ruins
Skull Tower, also known as Cele Kula, is a haunting stone structure in Nis, Serbia. Built in 1809 by the Ottomans, it is embedded with real human skulls. This iconic and chilling monument stands as a reminder of the first Serbian uprising against Ottoman rule. During this historic event, Serbian rebels were vastly outnumbered by the Turkish army at Cegar Hill near Nis.
Visiting the Skull Tower (Ćele Kula) in Niš was an unforgettable experience. It's both chilling and deeply moving—a powerful reminder of Serbia’s turbulent past and the sacrifices made during the fight for freedom. The structure, built from the skulls of Serbian rebels, is incredibly well preserved and respectfully presented. The museum provides detailed historical context in multiple languages, and the staff were knowledgeable and kind. It’s not a long visit—maybe 30–45 minutes—but the impact lasts much longer. This is a must-see for anyone interested in Balkan history, and a truly unique site you won't find anywhere else in the world. Highly recommended if you’re in Niš or passing through southern Serbia. Just be prepared—it's emotional, but incredibly important.

A tower constructed from 952 skulls of 19th-century Serbian rebels. The tower was built to serve as a lesson to Serbs who wanted to break away from the Ottoman Empire and was later converted into a monument. Until 1878, the tower remained open and unprotected, leaving only 58 skulls remaining today due to weather conditions and the fact that the skulls were taken away by rebel relatives for burial. In 1892, with donations from across Serbia, a church was built by Belgrade architect Dimitrije T. Leko, encompassing and enclosing the tower on all sides.

A unique and moving historical site in Niš. Skull Tower is a powerful reminder of the past, well preserved inside a chapel. Entrance is 300 RSD = 2.5€, and the visit takes about 20–30 minutes. Highly recommended for history lovers

Most unique monument in the world. Built by the Ottomans in 1809 as a warning to the Balkan people to not try to do battle with them. Made of the skills of proud Serbian warriors that sacrificed themselves instead of being captured.

Tickets can be bought in the building next to it, but there was no one to check. Around 300 dinars from what I remember. Would be nice if there were more details to the story presented, but I understand why they would want to keep it as it is. All in all, weird feeling that you get there, keeps reminding us of what humans are capable of just for power.

Sad story of the Serbs and what happened when they finally had a TINY bit of success against the Ottomans. To imagine that this tower still stands where it was originally built in 1809 was amazing.

It's worth a vist and the entrance fee is not too high. It's probably about a 10 minute vist to see the 4 sides of the tower and read the 4 information boards.
