Beautiful views and the cave but you need to walk down in big heat but even a lot more on the way up. Inside the cave it is warm, 18-20C during the whole year.

You cannot access the Capo Caccia area but you can, however, for a fee of 14€, visit the underneath cave through some stairs (lots of them). My 2 cents - not worth the 14€ - visit the surrounding areas for free and you can find some real gems if you are daring enough.

So it is kind of tricky : YOU HAVE TO DO A RESERVATION BEFORE EVEN BUYING A TICKET. BUYING A TICKET DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU THE SPOT FOR THE HOUR YOU WANT. You have to go on their website and book the time slot you want. Then you can buy your ticket either online or at their kiosk. Be careful, the parking in front of the kiosk is for residents only. The police come regularly to give tickets for tourists who parked there. For the stairs, it is okay for untrained people, not in an amazing shape which was my case. I gave birth a year ago, weigh a 100 kilos, not trained for over a year, and did it with two stops on the way back only. So it is doable for anyone. Take your time and go step by step. The cave was fine. Really pretty but the guided tour was not good since the person who speaks is it the front so they talk about things that if we are at the end of the queue we don't see what they're talking about and so sometimes it's a bit frustrating. But mostly it was good. We brought with us our 1yo, please bring your baby a little sweatshirt as it gets colder in the cave.

Although its one of the most beautiful caves i’ve seen i think you should very much consider if its worth it. Take in mind that there’s not much parking available, the ticket cost 14€, toilet service is not included. Tours start every hour and the gates at the top are open 30-20 minutes before. Once at the beginning of the cave you wait in line once again to get tickets checked and there is also a whole other group waiting to get in that came by boat. So once inside the guide does a great job, but on the 500 meter slow stroll through narrow path you listen to basic info in two languages, about the cave that is the same all over the world. The stairwell is very scenic if you don’t have to avoid other people tho.

Loved every step - well worth a visit. The park and ride service is defo worth considering as the ONLY parking are the lay-by or designated pull in areas which you will find only on the “sea” side of the road. If you park along this stretch of road which isn’t a legit parking spot, you’re highly likely to get a ticket and or towed away! Be warned. Park and ride is about €5 each return.

Amazing caves that are 65 million years old. Really a must see if you are in the area. First you must tackle the 654 steps along the side of the cliffs down and back up. You get an entrance time with your ticket (every 30 mins) and it takes about 15 mins to walk down. Then you must wait for the guided tour for entry, which is in Italian and English. Overall, we spent 1.5 hours in total. Better to book in advance during the high season. We arrived on a Sunday late morning in September and were able to get a ticket without booking for the 11:30 entrance time. There is no parking at the entrance so you have to walk or go to the free parking areas and pay for the shuttle bus.

The cave itself was gorgeous but not as much as the the walk to get there, which is total of 654 stair steps one way. For someone who doesn’t walk a lot on a daily bases, this trip might be a bit challenging- so make sure you grab a bottle of water with you. Ticket price is 14€ for adults. Less for students and kids. Going down the stairs i recommend staying behind everyone to enjoy the views at your own pace (and to take pictures without tourists in background). For whatever reason people rushed to the cave instead of taking in the views along the way.. Once you reach the cave, the guide will wait for everyone to start. Then I would suggest to squeeze in at the start so you’re one of the first to leave the cave after the tour. That way you can walk back up without waiting behind everyone, cause most people will be slow.

We attempted to visit twice but it was closed at short notice for safety reasons even with a confirmed ticket - we believe it’s a beautiful grotto but it is tide/water conditions dependent, you need a bit of luck to see it. Today 02/09/25 is a calm and sunny day and we could not access it. Arrive 40 mins before you booked time and factor in the 30 minute walk from the car park.

The beach itself is beautiful. The water is clear. But it is definitely overcrowded - the shore is long, but tight and the people are getting too close to each other, because of lack of space. If you want to go there, make sure you are there early enough, so you can find a good place for your umbrella. We got there with a bus from Alghero (9321 I think for 2.50 euro for one direction).

Our absolute favorite in northwest Sardinia. Clear shallow water, lots of fish, pine forest just behind the beach. Nice soft sand, only a few meters of pebbles when entering the sea. Free parking in September (paid in high season, I believe). The organized area is packed, but the free zones are good enough. You could also put your towel under the trees.

This is one of the best beaches in Alghero province. There is parking lot and bit a walking distance to beach, like 5 mins but then you will be surrounded by big trees 🌲 and nature while baking in the sun on the white sand beach. You can rent ⛱️🛏️ for 24 Euro: 2 beds and 1 umbrellas, which is a good price and also you can layout your own. There are plenty of bars for drinks and restaurants to eat really tasty food. I recommend to make a reservation and eat at La Niefe, it has nice natural shadow from the big trees while you have a sea view. Variety of wine and food is not that big but everything was delicious 😋

One of the longest beach in Alghero area, with pine forest where to get some shade. You have access to lots of bars and restaurants, a parking with decent fee.

Great beach, much calmer and quieter than others in the area. If you want to get a sunbed and umbrella, you have to go early because they are few. The restaurant is very nice. Parking is convenient and close to the beach. The bay is incredibly beautiful and the water is crystal clear. I recommend it.

Wonderful long narrow beach fringed with pine trees and views across the bay. Really pretty ans feels wild still. We parked under a shady tree in the free car park on the left side as you enter off the road. Beach clubs and restaurants are scattered across the beach mostly to the right side. It's minutes from the airport so was our first stop when we arrived!

The best beach near Alghero

Nice, shallow beach. Perfect for families with young children as it is safe for them to be in the water. Though the water was quite cold compared to other beaches we visited. Water was quite clear. Not the best beach, but you definitely can stop there for refresh.

Beautiful, wild beach with golden clear water, and a natural vibe. We visited with our dog and it was absolutely perfect plenty of space, no stress, and our four legged friend had the time of his life running around and splashing in the water. It’s not overly crowded, and the surrounding landscape is stunning. Great spot for nature lovers, peaceful walks, and laid-back beach days. Highly recommended for dog owners. This place truly feels welcoming and free. One warning: the parking situation feels like a trap. There’s no clear information, and yet fines are handed out like candy. The beach is fantastic — but the parking enforcement is a joke. Pay attention, or you’ll pay for it.

Pretty nice beach for being free. A good break from having to pay so much for others. There was plenty of space on the beach area and lots of room to swim. The parking lot is a bit trashy but you don't swim in the parking lot. There's about a 400 meter walk to the beach from the parking lot which is not biggie. Just letting you know in case you plan on bringing a bunch of stuff. Enjoy!

We were there for the sunset which was amazing. Stunning view. But the beach is very dirty, full of plastic pieces and not only. Go there without expectations for the beach, but just for the sunset that worths.

Very nice sand beach with a pretty view. There is also a Bar/restaurant with friendly service and bathroom. The water was clear and the beach was very clean. Beautiful 3 beaches. Easy access to water and swimming just superb. It is a paid access beach , full day 7,50 and half day 5 euros. There is restaurant and a shop. No sun beds or umbrellas provided and not much shade so be prepared. The only downside we thought that the parking area is run down. There is some rubbish on the ground and the beach access area needs some maintenance. However, still a very nice area to stay by the sea!

I enjoyed Neptune's Grotto, it's beautiful and ethereal. The boat ride there was lovely and weather was perfect. There are a lot of people in at any given time, so expect some queues and slowness. But it's a little confusing online how to book. If taking the boat, you buy a ticket from the vendor in person, not online. My ticket was €17. But the Grotto has a separate admission which is €14. This caught a few people out on the day. They do take card and cash 🙂

First time being in a cave, cool place to view. Guide tours in both Italian and English, also possible to ask questions in French. Typical tourist attraction but one definitely worth doing when in Alghero.

Overcrowded + horrible organization 😔 The cave was beautiful, the boat ride was pleasant, and the crew was skilled and polite. For these aspects, I would give 10 out of 5 stars. However, the organization at the cave entrance was terrible. About half of our boat was overtaken by a group of around 40 German tourists. When we pointed this out, they laughed at us. When we reported it to the staff at the ticket office and the entrance, they acted as if it wasn’t their problem. The group was let in ahead of us simply because they pushed through. Considering the entrance fee wasn’t cheap, the service was very poor and irresponsible. This is a trip you must do. The Grotte is a wonderful sight to see (price is completely seperate to the boat ride out and my experience is that you are told this) I have seen dolphins on 2 trips out to the Grotte and Steps. The crew on Debora are great. Very welcoming and hospitable. Coffee and refreshments are served on board ☕️

Absolutely dissapointing..arrived at the cave and captain said that weather is not good to park the boat. Did not even reach the entrance to see that. At that moment the waves was 0.6-0.8m. They already told while buying tickets that if weather is not good they will just swim around with the boat (like they knew that it will happen from the beginning).

Nice view over the city. The way up is just wonderful through the city with all the colored houses. The lady at the counter doesn’t speak any English, but no problem. Be careful cause there no restroom anywhere near, so keep that in mind and stop to a restaurant/bar before going up. :)

A visit to the castle has to be the highlight of a visit to Bosa. Parts of the castle have crumbled away, but many parts are still intact and you can walk around the ramparts and even climb to the top of the tallest tower if you have the courage to take on the steep steps!!! The beach is very nice, with small white pebbles and crystal clear water. For the aesthetics I would rate it with 5 stars. But it is quite crowded with people, many of them speaking loudly and some even with the music boxes. This isn't a beach where you can enjoy the sounds of the ocean and the wind. Also the people selling stuff on the beach are quite annoying, waking you up every 10 minutes.

Nice beach without many people like on LaPelosa. It’s very clean with small bar available. We were here end of May and nothing to pay for the parking, not sure about the prices of umbrellas as we hit the day very there has been some issue with lifeguard so we couldn’t rent any (not sue the dependency of having or rather not little shadow on the beach vs lifeguard missing). The entrance to the water is deeper quickly (1.2m - 1.3m deep with few steps) however water is crystal clear, some small rocks st the bottom so good for snorkeling. The beach is sandy however this white places are mini stones. Not an issue but kids are not too happy 🤷🏻‍♂️ other than that it’s great.

Very beautiful beach is an incredible atmosphere, clean spacious, enough space for everyone! Crystal clear water, there is a very beautiful cafe you can take sun loungers for the day, delicious cuisine, very fragrant cappuccino. We had a great day with my family. 10 out of 10🌞

Beautiful white small pebble and sand beach with totally clear crystal water. Ignore the ugly power station 5 miles further along as it does not affect the quality of the beach or water. Following the signs one feel like you are driving into the back yard of a farm but this is the entrance to the beach. When you reach the beach car parking area continue driving to the right until you find a less crowded section. There is a lot of car parking space and you are right behind the beach itself. Exit is up a dirt hill and out on another road so there are no traffic issues between arriving and leaving. The beach is busy but you can find space and enjoy a beautiful place

Sure the water is beautiful, but you have to share it with hundreds of other people. Way too crowded. This is one of the most popular beaches in Sardinia. The water is clean and transparent. We went off-season (mid-October) and were positively surprised that they don`t charge for parking now. Better arrive early in the morning because an hour later the parking was almost full. The weather in October turned out to be perfect for beach time - less crowds and more parking space. Another positive surprise is that they did not charge us for a beach towel mat - there was no one to look after this. Also being off-season we did not have to make a reservation and just popped-up. The beach is suitable for families with children - no waves, calm water. Totally recommend but come here in October.

One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The water is so blue and tranquil. Plan ahead to either get a full day pass 7 days in advance which allows you to enter the beach at anytime on the day(s) you previously selected. Alternatively, you can obtain a QR code 48-hour in advance, however, you must enter during a specific time. You will also need to pay for parking which accepts credit cards. Plan in advance and you will absolutely enjoy your time here.

A beautifully preserved Nuraghe in the Logudoro region of Sardinia ( Northwest). The site is well organised for individual or group tours, with a ticket office/souvenir shop, a bar with snacks and hot and cold drinks, and public restrooms. The full price ticket is 8€, which is fair since it goes to the maintenance expenses. You can take a walk all around and inside the Nuraghe, up to the top terrace, which offers an astounding view of the valley. There is no wheelchair nor assisted access to the upper levels, that you can reach by a very steep and tall set of stone steps, so keep this in mind when you visit. There are informative panels all around, to explain the history and architecture of the site.

this one is a small but almost fully intact Nuraghe you can find on the island. the ticket price of 10€ can feel expensive but worth a visit if you are in the area. No guided tours were offered on site according to the receptionist at the ticket counter but I saw a group with a guide speaking in Italian. Probably organised tour group. Self explanatory place and shouldn't take more than 30min.

Fascinating place. I love seeing the reality of how a place is used rather than guesswork which usually how you have to look at ancient places. The fresco are amazing but I think euro€6 entry fee is excessive, as it isn't that large a site. Some English translation would have helped explain how the site was used - we have been to smaller sites and been given great little booklets to take around which really helped us get the best from the site.

Basilica of the Holy Trinity of Saccargia took us by surprise on our road from Palau to Alghero Airport. We didn.t know about it, but it looked stunning so we had to stop. Visiting it, we found out that is one of the most important romanesque sites in the island, beeing constructed entirely in local stone since 1116. Just wow.

Worth a visit on the way to Sassari. The church is from the 12th century and resembles the Duomo di Sienna in style but with local limestone and basalt instead of marble. Tickets have to be bought got 3€ pP.

We visited this place on the route from San Teodoro to Alghero and I must admit that it was worth it. It is one of the most important Romanesque monuments on the island. The structure is entirely made of local stone, with a typical Tuscan Romanesque appearance. Visiting for a small fee inside is possible from April to the end of October. Inside of the church is a small souvenir shop, and a cafe near the parking where we can drink coffee and eat a croissant.
