It’s a lovely beach with white sand and clear water. At the time we went, the water was very still and great for swimming. The only complaint from our side is that there was a lot of old seaweed on the beach and in the water. Without it, this would truly be a perfect beach. There is street parking that you can pay by coins or card, in our case the card wasn’t accepted and we switched to the app easypark to pay for it. There are also places around to buy food and drinks.
Aurio P — Google review
One of the best beaches I have seen in Sardines. Free parking, great restaurants with fair prices and free beach. We firstly want to go to An other beach in this region and are happy that we are not. Clear water, white sand wind of the full mediterran sea. We love this beach. 🏖️ Hope you feel the same.
Benjamin S — Google review
I really love Putzu Idu. My friends in San Giovanni di Sinis recommended it to me because the water is especially clear and remains shallow a good distance out. Behind you to the inland there is a salt marsh that may have flamingos. The great Hotel Da Cesare is a fine place with an amazing restaurant that spills out onto the beach with an open-air patio. Great outdoor shower, too. Maluentu Skyline Bar & Restaurant.
Dominic C — Google review
No major complaints. Long sandy beach with water of sufficient quality. However, there was some algae
Cool C — Google review
It is a massive beach with low water and no stones at the entrance of the beach. Great colours and clear water. Perfect for families with children.
Roberto S — Google review
Clear as a swimming pool and devoid of crowds.

Amazing beach and sea in Putzu Idu with a strip of land with one side the beach and the other side a lake!! The beach is kept natural and wild!!! When strong Mistral good waves for surfing, especially for beginners!!

Beautiful beach with sparkling green water and soft white sands that's looks like something out of a travel magazine. Shallow for a good distance for the kids or for people that aren't great swimmers. A must visit if here in Sardinina

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Piazza d'Italia is a bustling town square located in the heart of Sassari, featuring impressive classic architecture and several shops and restaurants. The surrounding buildings date back to the late 19th century, showcasing grandiose styles typical of Italy's post-unification era. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dining options in the square or nearby cafes, especially during evenings when the area comes alive with locals dressed in their finest attire.
Beautiful architecture surrounded by quaint narrow cobblestoned streets steeped in history. Not overcrowded end of Sept!
Angie O — Google review
Piazza d'Italia is the main square of Sassari. it is dominated by the neo-Classical Palazzo della Provincia. There are plenty of places to enjoy a drink and admire the surroundings. It comes alive at night. Maybe it's just me but the square just seemed too polished and modern and didn't really impress.
David S — Google review
Piazza d'Italia in Sassari, Sardinia, has won my heart with its captivating charm and lively atmosphere. I had a delightful experience here, and I'm excited to share my thoughts. Nestled in the heart of Sassari, this picturesque square boasts a wonderful selection of restaurants, offering a diverse culinary experience that caters to all tastes. From traditional Italian dishes to international cuisines, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings. The variety of dining options nearby is definitely a big plus! What truly sets Piazza d'Italia apart is the enchanting ambiance it exudes. The vibrant atmosphere is enhanced by the lively sounds of music, creating a delightful backdrop as you stroll through the square. It's the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the local culture while enjoying a pleasant evening with friends or loved ones. However, I'm giving it four stars instead of five due to the occasional overcrowding during peak hours, which can make it a bit challenging to find a comfortable seating spot. Nonetheless, the overall experience was still enjoyable and worth a visit. If you're looking for a lively and gastronomically rich destination in Sassari, Piazza d'Italia is the place to be. Whether you're a food enthusiast or simply love immersing yourself in the local vibes, this charming gem is sure to leave you with lasting memories.

Large Piazza, with a few cafes. Impressive municipal building and statue. Mostly banking and lawyers in the surrounding buildings.
Maree A — Google review
very good place with many good restaurant and wine bars in surrounding
T O — Google review
This is most likely the largest and most central square in Sassari. Many of the buildings surrounding it are from the late 19th century, done in a grandiose style by a re-emerging Italy after the unification of the country in 1870. There are many restaurants, eateries and cafés on the square and in the vicinity. The square comes alive in the evening.

Castle of Serravalle

Mentioned on
3 lists
Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Castle of Serravalle, also known as Malaspina Castle, is a walled fortress perched on Serravalle Hill in Bosa, Italy. Dating back to the 12th century, this medieval stronghold offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Temo River and the charming old town of Bosa. Visitors can explore a small chapel adorned with 14th-century frescoes that provide a glimpse into its historical past.
Get up there! There are some stairs to visit the castle, and yes it’s not a huge place, but definitely worth the visit. The entrance fee is 5€, there is an interesting background story for the place, and the view of Bosa is fantastic.
Ábel M — Google review
Do you want an amazing view over Bosa? This is the place! When visiting beautiful Bosa, you should go to the castle on top of the hills – I promise you: the view is worth it! There are some steep stairs, so be aware if you have trouble with stairs. The castle itself isn't the most impressive or well-preserved I've seen, but the view makes it all worth it.
Nanna — Google review
Well worth the walk up for the views of Bosa and out to the sea. The castle itself is ok. It is good to climb the tower and walk on top of the walls. Be warned, the steel steps up the tower are very steep and there are multiple. Be careful m, especially on the way down. The fresco in the church is in good condition and worth a quick visit. The entry fee was 5€.
Simon R — Google review
Nice view over the city. The way up is just wonderful through the city with all the colored houses. The lady at the counter doesn’t speak any English, but no problem. Be careful cause there no restroom anywhere near, so keep that in mind and stop to a restaurant/bar before going up. :)
Ana-Elena B — Google review
Must visit when visiting Bosa!!! It costs 5€ to enter the impressive castle. It is on top of the hill of Serravalle, be prepared for a long, steep staircase. It offers a spectacular view of the town and surroundings
Sonata S — Google review
Go for the spectacular views of Bosa and surroundings. Take it easy, some steep steps. The audio guide from download at ticket desk is worthwhile, although it goes into a lot of depth.
Kilian O — Google review
A visit to the castle has to be the highlight of a visit to Bosa. Parts of the castle have crumbled away, but many parts are still intact and you can walk around the ramparts and even climb to the top of the tallest tower if you have the courage to take on the steep steps!!! The views are breathtaking. Entrance costs a laughable €5. This includes entrance into the Chiesa di Nostra Signora de Sos Regnos Altos in the grounds with its frescoes dating back to the 1300s.
David S — Google review
Excellent views in all directions from the castle. The church has some ancient frescos. The almond trees within the castle walls provide lovely shade. Toilets out of order.

Had great time, black sand. Left side is calmer and right side is wilder. 🏄🏻‍♂️🌊 The shower is available what is great and you can have a snack in beach bar.
Mário Č — Google review
Cute beach with nice cafes and not too many tourists. We had a fun day despite the wind and high waves - on other days it’s perfectly calm!
Lisa A — Google review
For scuba diving and snorkeling its perfect. Swimming also great, clean water, some time its windy and it has little waves. For children its perfect as well its isnt deep at all.
Áron ( — Google review
Soft sand, pure water, interesting underwater life (highly recommended to take snorkelling mask with you). The only downside - enormous number of people during high season
Julia B — Google review
Beautiful although ricky in spots and some sand not so nice...photo from top of path to beach area

Church of the Holy Trinity Saccargia

Mentioned on
1 list
Catholic church
Sights & Landmarks
The Church of the Holy Trinity Saccargia is a remarkable Romanesque church constructed in 1116 on the grounds of an ancient monastery. Its striking appearance, with alternating white limestone and black basalt, stands out against the picturesque green hills that surround it. This Tuscan-Romanesque-style structure is entirely crafted from local stone and represents one of the most significant Romanesque monuments on the island.
Such an amazing sight on a hill beside the road. Well worth stopping and paying a few euro to see the frescos and statues inside.
Maree A — Google review
Basilica of the Holy Trinity of Saccargia took us by surprise on our road from Palau to Alghero Airport. We didn.t know about it, but it looked stunning so we had to stop. Visiting it, we found out that is one of the most important romanesque sites in the island, beeing constructed entirely in local stone since 1116. Just wow.
Bogdan B — Google review
Worth a visit on the way to Sassari. The church is from the 12th century and resembles the Duomo di Sienna in style but with local limestone and basalt instead of marble. Tickets have to be bought got 3€ pP.
David G — Google review
Beautifull church, in the "middle of nowhere". Next to the road, if you are going to Alghero from Palau. Next to the church there is a nice restaurant. Recommended stop ✌🏻
Peter K — Google review
A very interesting church featuring remarkable dark and white stone from different outcrops on the island. Inside is a notable fresco that is worth seeing. There is also the ruins of the old convent Entrance is only €3
Clive M — Google review
Amazing architecture, great just to wander around. You can buy tickets at the little shop to enter. We didn't so not sure of the state of the inside.
Renee W — Google review
Nice spot by the road. Be careful, the parking lot is just a hole. We couldn't get inside; it was closed. We practically didn't encounter any tourists here. No tickets were needed.
Jakub V — Google review
We visited this place on the route from San Teodoro to Alghero and I must admit that it was worth it. It is one of the most important Romanesque monuments on the island. The structure is entirely made of local stone, with a typical Tuscan Romanesque appearance. Visiting for a small fee inside is possible from April to the end of October. Inside of the church is a small souvenir shop, and a cafe near the parking where we can drink coffee and eat a croissant.

Roccia dell'Elefante

Mentioned on
1 list
Roccia dell'Elefante, also known as Elephant Rock, is a remarkable natural formation located along state road 134 in the Castelsardo area of Sardinia. This large rust-colored boulder, about four meters high, bears a striking resemblance to a seated elephant. Not only is it an intriguing sight to behold, but it also holds archaeological significance as it contains two ancient Fairy Houses used for burial rituals thousands of years ago.
From the right angle the rock really looks like an elephant, but if you check it around is losing its magic😂 Is an interesting rock. Honestly the view behind it was spectacular. All the green hills were wonderful. But I think that was because we visited in April - I guess the rest of the year its all yellow from the heat.
Andreea D — Google review
"A unique rock formation right by the road. We parked on the roadside and walked up to it easily in a short time. Very easy to access and a quick, interesting stop along the way."
Dalila C — Google review
So funny to see this rock shaped like an elephant, who knew there were elephants in Sardinia. There is some parking for about 10 cars by the side of the road. If you in the area its worth a look.
Richard A — Google review
It's pretty cool for a short stop before Castalsardo. But be careful because sometimes it likes to dance around. 😉🐘
Kaloyan C — Google review
Worth seeing if you’re nearby, but not worth driving many kilometers just for this attraction. However, there are plenty of other sights in the area.
Przemysław G — Google review
This was the highlight of our day. Must visit 10/10!
Lukáš A — Google review
It is unbelivable how the likeness is this rock to an elephant! There was quite some people, but we enjoyed it!
Gonzalo — Google review
Interesting rocky formation with pre-nuragic tombs. Could be better highlighted with more information / panels and with stricter rules for preservation / protection. Can be quite crowded for such a small POI.

Outdoor Activities
Spiaggia Li Junchi di Badesi is a stunning beach located halfway between Castelsardo and Santa Teresa di Gallura on the north coast of Sardinia. This area is known for its vineyards and the production of Vermentino wine. The beach offers clear waters, an expansive stretch of sand, and amenities such as beach umbrellas and shower facilities. It's a popular spot for windsurfers and wave surfers due to the strong mistral wind in the area.
Amazing crystal clear waters and serviced beach
Gnigni9023 G — Google review
Nice long beaches, not too crowdy.
Peter H — Google review
This was our closest beach. Compared to others it's nothing special. But it is really long (and connected to the others) so it's rarely very crowded, which is a huge plus, especially in august!! The water is clear but starts with deeper right away. Also it is often windy and it gets seaweed. All in all, we really enjoyed it.
Bojana A — Google review
Beach is a bit steep and was always very windy with big waves when we got there so swimming wasn't really possible. Many parking spots for cheap (-,50€/h) available
Maximilian K — Google review
Nice Sandy beach that runs for kilometers from West to East. Sea is shallow and not deep at all. The more you move towards east the least people you encounter. Towards Isola Rossa is stunning
Amedeo P — Google review

Nuraghe Santu Antine

Mentioned on
6 lists
Historical place
Sights & Landmarks
Nuraghe Santu Antine is an ancient Sardinian stone structure that once had three floors and a 24-meter tower. It is a significant part of the island's identity, representing the ancient history of Sardinia. Located in the Sardinian countryside, this massive and silent structure offers visitors a unique glimpse into the island's past. Exploring its interior reveals unexpected hallways, staircases, and different views, making it an intriguing destination for history and architecture enthusiasts.
Vast, well preserved 3500 year old archaeological site. The ticket office (10 euros per person) has an app you can download for free, which provides you with a good guide throughout the complex in several languages. Clean restrooms, snack bar, and outdoor seating along with plenty of parking. The site itself is extensive with lots of levels and tunnels to explore. Well lit in dark areas. Marvelous vistas of the surrounding valley.
Drake M — Google review
Very interesting historical landmark; we had no idea it could be so cute. It felt like a labyrinth. Very well kept and intriguing. Guided tours and audio guides are recommended.
Cristina P — Google review
Quite simply the finest Nuragic site we visited (and we visited five) while in Sardinia. Absolutely fascinating. And the bucolic setting intensifies the mystic effect of the surrounding hills. Well worth a few hours to visit. Also, don't forget to stop by the little restaurant attached to the ticket office for some antipasti and wine. All in all, a beautiful day out.
Andrew D — Google review
Very interesting historical artifact and fun to climb with great views
Nick C — Google review
Loved it! Beautifully preserved and very interesting to read about its history. 10 euro per person entry which we originally thought pricey was well worth it 👌. A self-guided Audio is also included in this price. 😀.
Thekilteddrifters — Google review
Fantastic place. Must be the best preserved Nuraghe in Sardinia.
Andrew F — Google review
A beautifully preserved Nuraghe in the Logudoro region of Sardinia ( Northwest). The site is well organised for individual or group tours, with a ticket office/souvenir shop, a bar with snacks and hot and cold drinks, and public restrooms. The full price ticket is 8€, which is fair since it goes to the maintenance expenses. You can take a walk all around and inside the Nuraghe, up to the top terrace, which offers an astounding view of the valley. There is no wheelchair nor assisted access to the upper levels, that you can reach by a very steep and tall set of stone steps, so keep this in mind when you visit. There are informative panels all around, to explain the history and architecture of the site.
Margherita D — Google review
this one is a small but almost fully intact Nuraghe you can find on the island. the ticket price of 10€ can feel expensive but worth a visit if you are in the area. No guided tours were offered on site according to the receptionist at the ticket counter but I saw a group with a guide speaking in Italian. Probably organised tour group. Self explanatory place and shouldn't take more than 30min.

Parco Archeologico Naturalistico di Santa Cristina

Mentioned on

Sights & Landmarks
Ancient Ruins
Parco Archeologico Naturalistico di Santa Cristina is a significant archaeological site located just off the SS131 north of Oristano in Sardinia. It features a well-preserved Bronze Age temple, known as the tempio a pozzo, which is considered one of the best-preserved examples in Sardinia. The site also includes Bronze Age ruins and a medieval Christian church, offering visitors an immersive experience spanning over 3,000 years of history.
Even in some places the temple was reconstructed they used original stones and their precise cut is amazing. The way the sun travels in the interior chamber and lights the water requests some profound knowledges both astronomical and architectural. To build like this more than 3000 years ago is amazing. Christian church is from another time layer, 1000 years ago, and this combination of two different times in the same place is also great.
Ema R — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Parco di Santa Cristina is not just a place — it’s a sacred portal through time and spirit. Walking these ancient grounds, I felt the deep pulse of Mother Earth, the wisdom of the nuragic people, and the sacred geometry aligned with the stars. 🌌 The sacred well activated something within me… a memory, a knowing, a return. It's a place of deep reverence, perfect for those who walk the spiritual path and honor ancestral connection. If you are called to Sardinia, this is a must-visit for soul remembrance. 🌿 I share more about my journey and sacred activations at @dayanalopezfamilyconstellation 💫
Dayana T — Google review
Very close to road, which has its advantages too, special place with amazing historical sacred well, vaguely reminiscent of ancient Egyptian architecture. The nuaraghe village is also worth a visit
Marc B — Google review
The old water cult site is unique and very interesting! Impressive architecture and a solemn atmosphere when you go down to the well. The church is not that interesting and the Nuraghe is quite small compared to others.
Robert K — Google review
Fascinating archeological site, with a water worship site, an eary Christian church and a Nuragic village. Beautiful place.
Orsolya T — Google review
Tourist trap. €8 while all the other excellent sites charge €5-6. The family running this place are greedy. We skipped it.
JoeL — Google review
It is a magical place just a few meters from the main road. The entrance is 5€ for an adult and is totally worthy. Apart from the marvelous water well which seems impossible to be built 1200 BC, there is also very impressive nuraghe village with one main tower which can be climbed up to the top. At the entrance there is also a bar with paninis and tobacco

An interesting landmark of nurage with the expected i forms and shapes. Definitely worth a visit. Nothing particularly spectacularly unusual. A nice illustration of what happened in history in the local area.

It's one of the biggest and we'll preserved Nuraghes. The guided visit lasted 1.5 hours. Amazing 😍

I’ve Nuraghe Losa at 5 minutes from my home and is one of my favourite places in Sardinia. It’s really suggestive and well preserved! I really recommend if you want to know about Sardinia’s history and culture!

We visited on a monday. It's such a cool place to visit. In the tickeshop you can buy a lot of informative books on the nuragic civilisation. Plenty of parkspace, nice staff, who speak english well. The park is in a minute walk distance. In the park, there's a nice small museum. The nuraghe is well preserved, and totally worth climbing to its top.
Gergely A — Google review
When you enter the dark tall chambers inside, it feels truly ancient and mysterious. Great for children and adults alike to spend 45 mins
Yuri G — Google review
Though smaller than some of the biggest nuraghi on the island, Losa nuraghe is still quite big and great to explore, as you are allowed to see every chamber and even climb up on top. Just great!

Beautiful beach with lovey white sand and cristal clear water, just paradise in good sunny weather. Make sure you have a bamboo or plastic mats with you as you are not allowed to lie just on the beach towel. Make sure to bring your snorkelling gear as there is plant to discover under water. There is few bars around if you need something to bit

One of the nicest beaches I've ever been to. The sea is beautifully clear and the sand clean. The beach is small and can get busy, there is a ticketing system in place but the staff helped us with the tickets and mandatory bamboo beach mat.

Beautiful ruins in a peaceful environment. Not very crowded. Not the most complete buildings, but more extensive than many nuragic ruins in the area.

I did not expect the site to be as expansive as it is. The site is well mapped out with easy to understand explanations. Thr experience is magnificent insofar as you can walk through the halls of the ruined buildings, brush your hands across 3000 year old facades. It's a drive, albeit a beautiful one that is well worth it. Wooden walkways and an accessible restroom for those thst need.

The city of Nuoro itself is rich in culture and history, with attractions such as the Sebastiano Satta square and the Deledda museum, dedicated to Nobel laureate Grazia Deledda.

(Translated by Google) World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5th. #WorldEnvironmentDay 🌻🌳☘️ An opportunity to remember the importance of safeguarding the health of the environment, but above all an encouragement to take care of it all together. There are places, I like to define them as ❤️, which despite the years that pass, for the love of the people who live and look after them, remain intact. One of these is #MonteOrtobene in #Nuoro, for the people of Nuoro it is simply "Su Monte", the Mount, and not just a small mountain easily reachable from the city. But "Su Monte" as well as offering an antidote to the summer heat, offers emotions, because these are the places of the unforgettable Grazia Deledda. "It is not true that Ortobene can be compared to other mountains; Ortobene is only one in the whole world: it is our heart, it is our soul, our character, everything that is big and small, sweet and hard and harsh and painful in us" (Original) Il #5giugno si celebra La Giornata mondiale dell’ambiente.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Murale di Orgosolo is a must-see for history and art enthusiasts. The town of Orgosolo, located in the inner side of Sardinia, is famous for its impressive wall paintings and road structure. Despite not being super famous, it offers a charming experience of Italian village lifestyle. Visitors can appreciate the hospitality of the village people and enjoy the beauty of this hidden gem in Sardinia.
This particular pin is just one set of murals but makes a good starting point to walk down the main street to see them. If you try to navigate to this point by driving, beware of very narrow streets that probably won't fit your non fiat panda sized car, plus they're very steep! There are parking spots through the village and we wandered for hours looking at the murals. They seem to be everywhere, not just on the main road through the center, although that's where there is a very good cluster of them.
Natalya M — Google review
We passed through Orgosolo around midday, between 12 and 1 pm. The streets were almost deserted, giving the town a quiet, timeless feeling. The bright weather and the colorful murals painted across the walls turned this silence into something special. Each mural felt like a story waiting to be discovered. Still, I imagine the town must feel very different in the evening, when life returns to the streets. For a more vibrant experience, visiting later in the day might be the best choice.
Uljana L — Google review
I feel you need a full day. Amazing street art. Great street food as well. Also perhaps €5 well spent with self audio tour. We went free range as it was a leg stretch stop.
Gavin M — Google review
Don’t miss it! And use an audioguide to make a tour. It’s spectacular.
Oliver — Google review
I was absolutely captivated by Orgosolo. This Sardinian town is full of character, where every street tells a story. Walking through its narrow streets, I was struck by over 150 murals covering the walls vivid depictions of the town’s history, social struggles, and political messages. It’s incredible how art has transformed a place once notorious for banditry into a living, open-air gallery. The history here is fascinating. Orgosolo was once infamous for its bandits and vendettas, yet today you can feel the resilience and spirit of its people in every corner. After exploring, I couldn’t resist the local cuisine. The flavors were exquisite, fresh culurgiones, tender porceddu, and traditional desserts like seadas, all perfectly paired with local Cannonau wine. Eating while soaking in the breathtaking views made the experience even more unforgettable. Orgosolo isn’t just a visit, it’s an experience that stays with you.
Dorian N — Google review
Beautiful mountains on the way but a bit of a drive to get there with some very narrow streets. It is like a abandonded city with no life (october).
E P — Google review
While it may have been a misstep on our part to visit in November when tourist season is over and there are limited dining options, nonetheless, the murals/ graffiti were fascinating. I would recommend a stop in this quiet little village. But make sure you do it during the season so that you have more options for dining. That being said, we felt that wandering the village and looking at the graffiti reawakened our attachment to our fellow human beings.

Accessible from the parking area are both Lu Impostu beach on the right and Cala Brandinchi on the left, separated by a small forest-covered rocky promontory.
Amazing place. Is a private beach so you have to pay 2 euros per person to go in and parking is 2.50 euros per hour. But worth is as is quiet and beautiful.
Ugo D — Google review
You only have to buy a ticket to access the beach in the summer, we went in mid-may and didnt have to. Only the parking was paid. There is access to spiaggia impostu and brandici from the same parking lot and surprisingly they are quite different. Brandicci had more shallow waters so you could walk fairly ahead with the water still being knee level. There is a small shed to change and use the toilet in brandicci. The water was really calm when we went.
Megna J — Google review
The beach is nothing like it is presented in the photos. The water has a lot of algae and rocks, and the seabed is not entirely fine sand as shown. On the shore, there are many branches and trash, which makes it less enjoyable than expected.

Surrounded by a pine forest, the contrast between the green vegetation and the blue sea is especially striking from October to May.
Absolutely stunning beach. It is kid-friendly since it is very shallow. Parking is organized. In order to get it, you have to book in advance (about 48 hours prior). They have limited access. Each day at 18:00 they open booking for the second day.

really beautiful beach, I see what all the hype is about as the sand is white and water is clear. however, given you have to pay for both entry and parking, in my opinion the coast has nicer beaches that are less crowded. still worth the experience
Antonia P — Google review
Beautiful water, wonderful view, €2/person for entry, so many people and the beach/sand area is quite narrow. No regular towels are allowed. Only microfiber, plastic or polyester picnic blankets or reed mats. The beach police will 100% check what you laying on because you cannot take sand out of the beach. Very strict rules. Basic restaurant on site, and the GPS had a very hard time to find the main entrance. You need to look for a huge rock on the side of the road saying Cala Brandinchi
Hainalka B — Google review
It’s the 3rd time for us visiting this beach, after 2020 and 2023 and we loved it this time even more. It is just a beautiful setting. Yes it is crowded, yes it is expensive but you know this already by the need for a reservation. My advice is to go early (preferably before 10) and walk north and you won’t have a problem in finding a spot.

Thomas E — Google review
Beautiful beach with ample parking. We entered through Giardini. Make sure you make reservations in advance!
Ivana H — Google review
Ah, Cala Brandinchi – affectionately known as Little Tahiti, though I suspect Tahiti might file a defamation claim if it saw the place this summer. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the sheer vibrancy of the beach. Not the turquoise water or the golden sand, mind you, but the dazzling array of umbrellas, inflatable flamingos, and the occasional elbow to the ribs. It’s a rare talent to make one feel nostalgic for the peaceful serenity of a rush-hour subway in Milan. The beach itself is… how shall I put it… rich in texture. Every few meters you’ll find delightful surprises: an empty plastic bottle here, a half-buried chip bag there. It’s almost like a scavenger hunt curated by Poseidon himself. For marine life enthusiasts, this is the place to be. Forget aquariums — here, you can witness the majestic Sardinian shark (photographic evidence included). Truly thrilling, especially when one is still in the water. As evening approached, I discovered that leaving the beach with one’s dog can be quite an odyssey. Between the labyrinth of sunbeds and the scent of melted sunscreen, one wonders if Odysseus himself ever tried to find his way back to the car park. And let us not forget the mysterious sea creature that emerged from the depths — an elderly gentleman dressed as a mermaid. I can’t say whether he was a local legend or a performance artist, but I do applaud his commitment to aquatic authenticity. All in all, Cala Brandinchi is the perfect destination for those who enjoy chaos with a touch of mythology. Come for the crowd, stay for the confusion. Five stars for entertainment, two for actual relaxation.

Grotta di Ispinigoli, located in the western region of Sardinia, is a magnificent natural cavern with limestone walls reaching up to 40 meters high. The cave is adorned with stunning stalactites, stalagmites, and unique rock formations. It also houses some rare flora and fauna. The area surrounding the village holds historical significance as it was once used for performing human sacrifices during the Punic era.
Perfect place to visit as quick escape from heat and sea. One of the most amazing caves Ive seen so fare. Very knowledgeable guide!! Highly recommend, you want be disappointed. I hope they will open more tunnels and rooms for public in the future as there is plants more to see.

breathtaking, with its impressive stalactites, stalagmites, and the famous central column that leaves you in awe. What made the visit even more special was our guide. Not only was he extremely competent and knowledgeable, explaining the history, geology, and legends of the cave with clarity, but he also had an amazing sense of humor. His witty remarks and engaging storytelling kept the whole group entertained, making the tour both informative and fun. I would highly recommend this visit to anyone traveling in Sardinia — the natural beauty of Grotta di Ispinigoli combined with such a talented guide makes it truly worth it.
Ani B — Google review
Visiting Grotta di Ispinigoli was a truly remarkable experience. Despite the no photography policy, which initially seemed disappointing, it quickly became clear that no picture could capture the awe-inspiring beauty and immense depth of this cave. The constant 17°C temperature inside was a refreshing contrast to the scorching 32°C outside, and I highly recommend bringing a jumper for comfort. After the tour, we found the hotel-restaurant near the parking area, offering an unforgettable view and serving excellent coffee. It's the perfect spot to reflect on the cave's magnificence and share impressions. Both the cave and the nearby restaurant are absolute must-visits in this region.

Absolutely beautiful cave. Worth seeing. There are only two entries a day. First at 11:00 am, second at 12:00 am. Entry fee 10 euro for adult (November 2025). Taking photos inside is forbidden (even without lamp). The guide lady was super polite and very friendly :) guided tours are in english and Italian languages only.

Super cool experience! We arrived at opening on a late May day and were able to secure walk-up tickets. It’s probably best to make reservations in advance during the high season as I can imagine tickets are in high demand then. We learned a lot from the helpful guide as well as the plaques that line the entry. It was easy to access by car on the way to Cala Gonone.
Rishi M — Google review
Our car was broken into in the parking lot and all of our luggage was stolen. I think the criminals are aware of the cave tour times and looking for rental cars when they know you will be in the cave. Leave NOTHING in your car. The cave tour was great but the loss wasn’t worth it.

We have been to many other caves around the world (USA, New Zealand, Costa Rica) so weren't expecting Grotta di Ispinigoli to be anything special. We were wrong! This cave is truly SPECTACULAR ... the immensity of the room and the enormity of the speleothems is awe inspiring. In addition, the explanations given by our tour guide Christina were exceptionally clear and scientifically accurate. This was one of the highlights of our Sardinia vacation.

Our rental car was broken into and all bags stolen while parked here for 1.5 hours during the grotto tour and visiting the restaurant cafe!!! Be warned there are criminals here who will steal from your car! We stopped here on route from Cagliari to Cala gonone on holiday. (the cave was good but finding all our belongings stolen was very traumatic and definitely not worth the visit).

Spiaggia di Capo Coda Cavallo is a charming beach cove with pebbly sand and stunning island views. The area offers convenient accommodation close to the airport and beautiful beaches, with spacious, clean lodging featuring amazing views from patios and gardens. Visitors can enjoy well-maintained Villagio grounds with lush gardens, boat rentals for island exploration, and the opportunity to see dolphins.
Wonderful beach, it's in a more remote location but still easily accessible by car. The surroundings are wild and the views are out of this world. Absolutely stunning. The water is so crystal clear. Ideal for snorkeling, we managed to see a good variety of fishes. Highly recommended.
Sónia M — Google review
Gorgeous beach I found my coincidence. The road down there is unpaved and a bit rocky. Can get adventurous depending on the weather and potholes. At the beach were small paddle boat and SUP rentals even off season. Parking was free beginning of October.
Kathrin C — Google review
We came here by a boat and it was the best decision! There were a lot of fishes surrounding our boat bottom, turquoise water and less windy for mid September - just perfect.
Kate M — Google review
amazingly beautiful beach but a bit difficult to get to. Need to park the car far away and then walk under the blazing sun
Alexandre A — Google review
Wonderful beach, especially for kids. The water is shallow and the sand is very fine, ideal for sandcastles :)
Irene R — Google review
Don't get me wrong, the beach must be amazing during low season. But the reality is, if you're going there during peak season, well you better choose something else as a destination. See the videos and the pictures I shared. You wouldn't even find a spot to place your beach towel. Even if you come early in the morning a massive crowd of people is gonna come after you, screwing everything up. There are much better places in Sardegna 😉
Roberto I — Google review
It’s a beautiful beach with a mix of area with sand and others with pebbles. Gets busy but you can always walk a bit more and find an empty space all for yourself. It gets really wavy when it’s windy though. We loved it, you get some shade of the trees and you can snorkel!
Elena — Google review
Definitely one of the best beaches of the island. What is really missing is a good bar. The bar is very simple. The is also an organised part of the beach with just to rows of good quality sunbeds, there is a rental of everything you imagine. The view is fantastic. The sea is very calm and the water is blue aquamarine colour. The sand is white thin and soft in the water though the sand on the beach is more pink and bigger size. Enjoy!

Castello della Fava

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Historical landmark
Castello della Fava, located in Posada, has stood for over 800 years and offers a glimpse into its tumultuous history. The castle's medieval stonework and tall tower provide visitors with unparalleled views of the picturesque surroundings. Climbing to the top requires a small fee but rewards with breathtaking panoramic views. The narrow and steep stairs leading to the top may pose a challenge, but the experience is worth it for those who appreciate historical sites and stunning vistas.
The views from the top make the climb worthwhile. Get your tickets from the 'blue house' before going to the castle entrance otherwise you'll have to walk back down. Steep ladder and small hole to climb through to the very top.
Mike S — Google review
Castello della Fava is a decent spot if you're looking for a panoramic 360° view of the surrounding area. The walk up to the castle is quite enjoyable, and the scenery along the way is lovely. Entry is €4 per person, which is fair, but the castle itself doesn't offer much beyond the view. If you have some free time and nothing else planned, it's worth a quick visit—but it's not a must-see.
Thiago Z — Google review
Beautiful quaint town with stunning views. Visited Castello della Fava and really enjoyed it. The small town is very quaint and charming, with narrow streets leading up to the castle. The walk up requires a bit of effort but it's absolutely worth it once you reach the top; the views are beautiful and panoramic. Entrance was just 4 euros, very reasonable. If you're staying in Budoni or nearby, it's a great little trip and a nice break from the beach. Definitely recommend.
J.R A — Google review
Entry fee 4 euro. Place is clean but needs more maintenance. You get a nice view of the surroundings. Getting on the roof of the tower can be tricky due to the small ladder and roof access hole.
Silviu I — Google review
Impressive view, challenging way up when it's 40°C, but it was worth it. Not so many visitors; it was quiet, and the panoramic view was stunning. A 4€ admission fee: not everyone's going to think it's worth it, but you are financially supporting the preservation of culture, so forget it; you are probably on vacation, stop counting dimes. Note, if you are bodily challenged or a bigger person, you might not fit the small trap door to the roof. Check the attached pictures.
Nathan L — Google review
Well worth the detour. Climbing the final stairs of the tower is like a rebirth as one has to squeeze thru a narrow opening.

Posada is pure Sardinian magic – colorful alleys, stone houses, and the most stunning view over the valley and the sea. 🌅 Wandering through the old streets feels like stepping back in time, and once you reach the top, the panorama is unforgettable. One of those villages where you just want to slow down, breathe, and stay a little longer.

Grotta del Fico

Historical place
Grotta del Fico, also known as the Fig Cave, is a stunning sea cave located near Cala Goloritze beach in Baunei, Sardinia. Accessible by boat, this karst cavity features metal walkways and clusters of stalactites. The cave offers a unique experience with its well-preserved treasures and subterranean river.
Very nica cave Very big and amazing and impressive You can see stalagmites and stalactites You can see fresh water The tout is very nice and the path is well arranged and well lit
Joe ( — Google review
The guided tour in Grotta del Fico was impressive. The cave itself is beautiful, with stunning rock formations and a well-maintained path. However, the tour had a noticeable imbalance in language—while the guide provided detailed explanations in Italian, the English version was significantly shorter. It would have been more enjoyable if the information in both languages were equally detailed. Nonetheless, the experience was worth it, especially for those interested in geology and nature.
Arni N — Google review
Very interesting cave… But with the group of 50 people where tour guide speaks in Italian and English it lasts more than 45 minutes for a tour that shouldn’t take longer than 20min. Temperature inside is 15-18 degrees which can be unpleasant if you are coming wet.
Zeljko T — Google review
Unaware that we needed to wait for a guide, we started walking and 5 minutes later we saw the guide and join the group, we were asked to leave the group and wait another guide at the entrance. But the cave is pretty and if you didn’t saw any cave in Sardinia it may be worth the visit but 10€ is a bit much
Romain — Google review
Went to the cave on a stop from our boat tour! Wanted to beat the heat so we went! 10 euros to enter. There are stairs to enter the cave but the view you get is unbelieveable. The tour guided spoke English for us, which was very appreciated. He was very knowledgeable & we learned a lot! Lots of history and things we learned about the island (monk seals, no earthquakes, limestone, etc)! The cave is very well preserved and really interesting. Gets really slippery so careful with those flip flops! Overall, cool learning piece we didn't expect on our boat tour!
Shae K — Google review
I’ve travelled a lot and had never seen something quite this amazing and well preserved. The entrance is beautiful but the treasures inside are amazing. My favorite thing about it is the subterranean river. Though you can’t access everything the place has to offer it’s definitely something worth seeing. Also the temperature offers a break from the hot Sardinian summer. So overall great experience.
Florencia S — Google review
This is a must for every tourists going on a boat trip. This is a very well organised place where you will be given mobile phones devices providing information in different languages about the history of the cave. There is about half a kilometre of walking to do inside the cave, the whole tour lasts about 45 minutes and you can go by yourself to explore in your own time.
Antonio K — Google review
We were in cruise with mostly Spanish speaking people so for visiting the cave we split for English talking group and Spanish but after this the guide realized that in English group is like few person so we have to just split in half .. our trip took longer cause guide has to talk in 2 languages. Of course is not to see but it's not soo impressive;)

It appeals to adventurers, nature enthusiasts, and hikers seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience.
Clear water and you can go fishing if you are on a boat hire. Bring some proper stones beach shoes as it looks white in the photo but it hurts in the feet

I went on May 6, 2025. Got my reservation for the day online on Heart of Sardinia. Trek was not too long, people from all ages were on the trail. Most of the descent/ ascent is near the beach. Many people there that day but not overcrowded. Definitely have to bring your own water and food. This beach lives up to the hype, it’s amazing! Air temperature was high 70s/ low 80s, topping out at about 87 degrees with a few clouds. Clouds came in the afternoon and it rained for half an hour. I got rained on, on the way back. Water temperature was cool but many people swam in the ocean comfortably. I brought my own snorkel mask and enjoyed the variety of fish in the water.

Beautiful beach! Make sure to book online in advance. Ticket is €7. Entrance between 7:30 am and 2 pm. Proper shoes needed, trail is not easy (3,5 km ~1,5 h one way). Free parking.

Always wanted to go this beach - this year managed. Honestly it's very crowded and looks better from the boat than from the beach. The water is also "sandy" - there is beaches with more clear water! Even not far from it

WOW. Clear waters, white sand - something alot of people can only dream of. It was an amazing experience and I can 100% recommend. It getting the reward for the most beautiful beach in the world is absolutely fair. I went swimming out far and I still could see the bottom of the sea. So so beautiful and amazing.

Beautiful tiny beach with insane water color. Parking: Su Pordettu camper parking lot Tickets: 7 eur pp, make sure you book your slot in advance, 250 people are allowed on the beach per day. The hike (4 km down hill, 4 km uphill, 500 m elevation gain) - downhill is already quite challenging (1,5 hours), the terrain is rocky, partially in shade. Go early, trail open from 7:30. - the hike back after a few hours on the sun and in the water is tough. Do not underestimate. Make sure to bring enough water and food for the whole day, there is nothing on the beach. Be prepared for the heat! It is worth the effort!
Zoltán F — Google review
An absolute dream of a beach, the most beautiful in Sardinia. I recommend visiting the beach via the hiking trail and starting as early as possible. You should buy the ticket three days in advance using the Heart of Sardinia app or website. We set off at 8 a.m. and arrived at the beach shortly after 9 a.m. At that time of day there were hardly any visitors. At around 11 a.m. the beach gets busier, and soon it is so busy that space becomes tight. The return journey took us two hours, taking regular breaks and walking at a leisurely pace. The return journey is strenuous but absolutely doable; large trees provide plenty of shade at regular intervals and a pleasant temperature for a short breather. You should bring at least 2 liters of water per person.

Our favourite beach in Sardegna. I've been to many beaches in Australia, Latin America, Europe, and Southeast Asia, but rarely have I seen water this clear. When you go underwater it's like being in a giant swimming pool. Nice sand, beautiful views of mountains on one side and Arbatax on the other. Like the name too.

Rocce Rosse in Arbatax is a stunning red rock stack made of porphyry that emerges from the sea near the harbor. It's a popular backdrop for summer rock concerts and hosts the Rocce Rosse Blues music festival in August. The area offers ample parking and easy access, making it a must-see attraction when visiting Arbatax. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views, with some even daring to jump into the sea from the rocks.
Looks nice and some people made some Stone "sculptures" there. You have a beautiful viel and it was not very crowded (May 2024)

Remarkable rock formation that you have to see when you are in the region… . The place has an easy access and a lot of parking space! It’s nice to sit on the rocks next to it and to admire the view… We visited this place in June 2022, during a road trip in Sardina…

Spectacular place, which is a "must" to see when passing Arbatax. Rocks are beautiful and breathtaking. If you go, go early, at 9-10am - only few people. Free, no admission, large parking place suitable also for caravans right in front of it. Souvenirs shop near. Some similar red rocks can be found in surrounding too e.g. Lido di Orri. Local boys jump from the to the sea - that's really extreme adventure :-)
