Nice countryside location for the ostrich farm. As well as the"main attraction" of the ostriches, there are sheep, rabbits, deer, ducks, peacocks, etc - plenty of things to keep the kids occupied! Also a nice cafe area with the usual drinks, snacks, pastries, ice creams, etc
Kevin R — Google review
100% let down. Entrance fee is 3.5€. Basically normal animal farm except ostrich instead of the cows behind the fence. They also had some sheep and deer inside other enclosures. They had some chickens in the cages too. Cutest things were baby ostriches under the warm lamp. But the glass between was so dirrty... Skip it, visit only worth if you think that 3.5€ is not too expensive to see those big birds close up.
SuTu T — Google review
Laid back farm with lots of animals for the small ones to enjoy. The ostriches are the main attraction but you can find lots of deers, chickens, sheep and rabbits on the ground. There is a small and very reasonable entry fee. There is also a small coffee place where you can get refreshments and something to eat. You can also acquire ostrich meat and animal skins from it.
Pedro S — Google review
Excellent pastries and coffee. For a small fee of 4€ you can see ostriches, chicken, deer, goats and sheep.
Mikko L — Google review
4e entrance, worth the stop! Beautiful deers and other animals, good sandwhich.
Reino P — Google review
waisting of time does not worth money as well (4€ entrance) nothing really interesting here hosts are bored with their farm and people
Toni T — Google review
Not worth to go really... Not presentable, welcoming or taken care of, felt sorry for the young ostriches.
Anne T — Google review
Kids liked it. But what a smelly creatures are those ostriches...

A great collection of old automobiles and also model cars. Free entry! In the museum there is a gift shop to buy model cars and souvenirs. In the same building there is a cafe, that sells hot food, pastries, and ice cream and has a great outdoor terrace to enjoy an amazing view over the lake. There is also a viewing tower next to the museum for a better view over the beautiful landscape. Beautiful place to make a stop!

A small but good museum that is free to look around and has a very popular café boasting good views as well as a shop selling scale model cars, branded mugs and other accessories. They really like foxes here too which made the visit even more entertaining as small toy foxes were placed randomly throughout the exhibition.

Car repair and maintenance service
Nestled by the serene lakeside in Kangasala, just a short drive from Tampere, the Automobile and Road Museum Mobilia is a delightful destination for car enthusiasts and families alike. This engaging museum features two main exhibition halls: the Mobilia center with its ever-evolving displays and the Autoglym Rally Gallery showcasing classic vintage cars alongside an international Rally Hall of Fame. Visitors can also explore fascinating exhibits on heavy roadwork machinery and Finnish racing legends.
Interesting indoor museum! The museum has different exhibitions like heavy roadwork machinery, rally and classic cars. There is also a restaurant in the building. Outside of the museum there is a traffic town and a playground for kids. As the museum is located next to a lake, there is a boat ramp and a small beach to go swimming, a picnic area with a beautiful scenery over the lake. Fun for a day trip!
Reelika E — Google review
Very interesting exhibition, pretty versatile collection in two buildings, beautiful environment, very good cafe and lunch restaurant, family friendly, beach etc. You can easily spend a few hours there. Or have a swim and spend the whole day 😊

A nice little museum in a beautiful location next to a lake. Some very interesting cars, motorcycles and trucks. A nice little cafe where you can eat at a reasonable price.
Peter P — Google review
Excellent place to visit ,especially when your son is a fan of cars and ralli 😍
Nadea S — Google review
For 15 euro price it wasn't worth it, most of the ''exclusive cars'' had dust on them, also most cars had a really bad paintjob, and a lot of cars even had visible rust. Some cars looked liked they got taken from some parking lot and did not leave a slightest impression. Also it was really hard to find the entrance to the building. The cars themselves were behind glass so you could not walk around them, one porsche was in the middle behind all the cars and you could barely see it. Of course there were some interesting cars, but the overall exhibition didn't leave a mark.

A lovely idyllic place, two hours there felt like a short time. Could spend there more, walking in the garden and having a picnic (they have many tables and benches outside). The sculpturer's atelier with own organ and observatory was impressive. The cakes in the cafe were delicious, especially britakakku. Separate thanks for making leaflets in Ukrainian language!

Very interesting place, worth visiting, Wikström 's house like from a tale, and the cultural heritage amazing! Incredibly talented person whose house hidden in beautiful landscape. I'll definitely visit again. Little minus for the closed cafe, would be nice to have a cup of coffee inside.

This place has amazing view of lake, can spend couple of hours there during summer. Also, have a coffe shop, nice to enjoy a cup of coffee with the view.

Just five minutes from the highway or half an hour bicycle ride from Toijala railway station will take you 100 years back. Really worth visiting.

We loved visiting his home and atelier. We didn’t expect the observatory! The cafe have lovely vegan options, both vegan milk for your coffee or tea and couple of pastries that were superb. Highly recommend!
Carolina G — Google review
We stopped here on the route from Hämeenlinna to Tampere, but were not sure if we should visit the museum or not. First thing a lady was waiting upstairs trying to get us to buy tickets straight away. We went to the cafe first to buy some ice creams for the kids that we had promised, the ice creams were reasonably priced, but we had to go outside to the terrace because the air inside was really bad and it was raining outside. For a short while we stood by the door making sure we don’t disturb any other customers allowing the kids to eat their ice creams. The lady who tried to make us buy the tickets was clearly annoyed we hadn’t bought any at that stage, and first complained to the children that they hadn’t put their ice cream paper in the rubbish bin, then complained that we were obstructing the handrail on the completely empty stairs. She did all this in the rudest possible way. Even though we were honestly planning to pay a visit to the museum and had even checked the prices beforehand, it was an easy decision not to buy the ticket at this stage. We rather went to sit on a boat for one hour instead, waiting for it to leave. The museum might have been great, but we had no way to see it, because part of our group refused to buy the tickets at this stage. Excellent job repelling paying customers.
Juho V — Google review
Not quite what I was expected when I visited without knowing what it would be. Turned out it's just 2 buildings, where the artist was living, and another one is his working place.

Tampere Cathedral

Mentioned on
38 lists
Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
Tampere Cathedral, also known as the church of St. John, is a striking example of National Romantic art-nouveau architecture. Completed in 1907, this imposing granite-built church features three steeples and red-tiled roofs that contrast with its subtle stone facade, exuding understated elegance. Inside, visitors can admire controversial frescoes and stained glass created by Hugo Simberg, depicting naked childlike apostles and dreamlike scenes.
The colours of the glass with the open plan architecture makes this a welcoming and deep place of reflection. Highly recommend you come here..
Steven W — Google review
Truly one of the most amazing churches I have seen both outside and inside. From the outside it looks like a medieval castle, and from the inside it is a true work of art. It houses one of the most famous paintings in Finland, the Fallen Angel, as well as another striking one with a skull. The interior has many unusual elements that make you curious to learn more about its history and culture. We entered just after a wedding, and within five minutes we could go in without any problem. Everything was spotless. You can also walk up from one of the sides and admire the church from that angle, and it is completely free. We were lucky to hear someone playing the piano during our visit, which made the atmosphere even more special. A must-see in Tampere, and perhaps even in all of Finland.
Humberto D — Google review
After a long, exhausting week of exams, visiting Tampere Cathedral on 15.12 felt like a breath of peace. The quiet beauty, soft light, and calming atmosphere wrapped around us the moment we walked in. It was exactly the gentle pause our tired minds needed—a place that reminded us to breathe, slow down, and feel grounded again.
Marilyn G — Google review
Magnificent! So pretty! The entrance way is so magical! We weren't inside the building due to wedding ceremony but I would like to visit some other time!

Museokeskus Vapriikki, situated in Tampere, Finland, is a museum complex housed in a renovated textile mill. It offers diverse exhibitions covering cultural history, natural history, and technology. The center features interactive displays and engaging exhibits suitable for visitors of all ages.
Wonderful museum structure with many smaller exhibits under one roof. Unique and clean with much information in Finnish and English. You can also use your camera phone to translate much of the information as well. Free lockers to hold your personal belongings. There is a cafe and restaurant and moderately priced. Parking is close by and priced reasonably well.
Dovalyn — Google review
Amazing museum with unexpected themes they have. In Vapriikki, they have many themes, such as DNA museum, Hockey, and even game museum! We enjoyed the venue, and ticket for children with less than 7 y.o is still free.
Muhamad R — Google review
Don't let the €15 Euro entry put you off! It's definitely worth visiting this museum. It's informative and interactive - especially the games exhibition which was like walking through your childhood again and I even learnt that one of my favourite games comes from Finland! There is an interesting assortment of themes for the museum such as radio, post, Dungeons and Dragons history, ice hockey hall of fame and of course, the textile industry that built Tampere. This city was built because of the British and people saw the rapids and thought "money" - classic industrial revolution starter pack. This unfortunately is where the museum loses a stat from me, all of the information about the fabric industry is in Finnish with nothing in English which is such a shame when everything else in the museum is in both languages. Last but not least, go and check out the music exhibition for some Finnish knock offs of British classics. Definitely worth a visit
Claire W — Google review
An outstanding location for anyone interested in various museum exhibits. The building itself is really striking and in addition to that houses several very well curated exhibitions. We came for the video game museum, but ended up checking almost everything they had. For the 15€ entrance fee this was stellar value for the money! All the exhibitions have English translations everywhere, so visitors outside the country don't need to feel being left out. The building is very easy to navigate and all the facilities are clean. The staff at the entrance was polite. As a whole the experience was highly recommended. The only tiny annoyance was the cafeteria at the center of the building, with a 0.5l soda costing 5€, which is a highway robbery.
Ari S — Google review
This place completely surpassed our expectations. It had the superheroes exhibition which was really cool. The games exhibition was highly entertaining and brought back plenty of childhood memories. Plenty of different gaming consoles and games for everyone to try. The minerals exhibition was also really cool. We stayed for about 2 hours but definitely could have stayed much longer if not for hunger pangs. Language-wise, it was pretty accommodating. There were QR codes which you could scan to learn more. Would definitely come back again!

🎸🦌💎 A little bit of everything under one roof — and free Fridays make it even better! What a fun and eclectic museum! It’s got something for everyone — from incredibly lifelike wildlife dioramas (some of them are scarily realistic 👀), to sparkling gemstones, Marvel superheroes 🦸‍♂️, Finnish history, and even a whole section dedicated to Finland’s rock ‘n roll scene 🎶🇫🇮. Best part? Fridays are free for certain exhibitions — definitely worth planning around if you're looking to visit on a budget! There’s also a cozy restaurant and a gift shop on-site, so you can grab a bite or pick up something cool after exploring. Great place to spend a few hours — kids and adults alike will find something to enjoy. #FinlandMuseums #FreeFridayFinds #MarvelMeetsMoose #RockNRollHistory #FamilyDayOut #HiddenGem

There are very enjoyable interactive games in the museum. The employees are irritable as if they haven't had enough sleep. Many people were there with their children, and they probably find it just as fun as the adults. There was even the Super Mario game. You can lock your belongings in the box at the entrance

Spy Museum

Museum
Specialty Museums
The Spy Museum in Tampere is a unique attraction that offers visitors an intriguing look into the world of espionage. Established in 1998, it was the first of its kind and features an extensive collection of espionage equipment and artifacts from around the world, including items used during the Cold War era. The museum provides interactive exhibits where visitors can test out real spy techniques and learn about famous spies and their work.
10:20-14:15 3:55 hours visit (€7 student) 1:50h to visit the whole exhibition 2:05 to read the remaining pagee of the folder. Very interesting as you learn both about individual spies, how they related to eachother, the different spying / intelligence operations. I don't understand the low ratings, or people saying there isn't much to see. There are a lot of objects and a lot of information to learn - if they just walk through without looking it isn't really the museum's fault. I suggest visiting as soon as they open, because by 12/13:00 there were a lot of screaming and noisy children in the museum area.
Serena N — Google review
There are only a few Spy Museums in the world, and one of them is located very close to the Tampere train station. It houses a collection of espionage devices used by different countries across various time periods. Although it differs somewhat from the portrayal of spy gear in modern spy movies, seeing the items up close offers a unique experience. The museum also features introductions to famous spies from different countries, making the content quite rich. One downside, however, is that the interaction between the exhibits and visitors is somewhat limited, which affects the overall immersive experience.
Ys L — Google review
It's ok if you don't come Saturday. Too much people and the display is little bit hectic and difficult to go around. Much to see, but really small area.
Maria K — Google review
Good but a bit small. Very interesting! The tunnel in the middle of the museum was very exciting. Definitely worth a visit!!
Rauna K — Google review
What fun! And interesting. As we don't know the Finnish language, we were given folders with English language translations for all of the information panels. Some are already on display in English, but many are not and this folder on as quite helpful. The exhibits start with pre-WW1 spying and move through to present day. Information gathering techniques, hidden weapons, spy rings, spies, and much more are detailed in the exhibits. There's even a quiz you can take along the way. I highly recommend a visit.
Cheryl S — Google review
A small museum with a lot of materials on the history and technology of espionage. Everything is in Finnish, but you are provided with a thick booklet in English. We had only 40 min and this was barely enough.
Elena M — Google review
Interesting Spy museum. Plenty of interesting things from the spy world. You can take on a mission whilst going around. Enjoyable 45 minutes
Philip K — Google review
What a fun, interactive museum this is. An abundance of interesting and educational features, as well as many different stories about some of the worlds most (in)famous spies from around the world. No photos added here as photos aren’t allowed in the museum. Recommend buying the Museokortti, which is a card one can buy for around €70, with which you can access over 300 museums across Finland for 12 months. This card is for sale at the Spy Museum. Recommend 3-4 hours at this museum if you enjoy reading all there is to read!

Observation deck
Sights & Landmarks
Näsinneula is a must-visit attraction in Tampere, Finland. It features a theme park with 34 rides, a planetarium, an aquarium, and an observation tower that offers stunning panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. The tower also houses a fine-dining rotating restaurant where visitors can enjoy exquisite meals while taking in the ever-changing views as the restaurant completes its full revolution every 45 minutes.
As a first-time visitor seeking a bird's-eye perspective of Tampere, Näsinneula was an absolute highlight. Dominating the city skyline, this iconic observation tower delivers truly breathtaking panoramic views that extend far beyond the urban landscape. From the top, you get a stunning appreciation for Tampere's unique geography, with its numerous lakes shimmering in the sunlight, the Tammerkoski rapids snaking through the city, and the surrounding forests stretching towards the horizon. The elevator ride to the top is quick and smooth, building anticipation for the vista that awaits. The observation deck offers ample space to walk around and take in the 360-degree panorama. Informative signs point out key landmarks, helping you orient yourself and appreciate the city's layout. It's fascinating to see how the industrial areas blend with the natural beauty from this vantage point. For an even more enhanced experience, the revolving restaurant at the top is a fantastic option. Imagine enjoying a meal or a drink while the entire cityscape slowly rotates around you – it's a truly memorable way to soak in the views. While I opted for just the observation deck on this visit, the restaurant is definitely on my list for a future trip. Näsinneula provides a unique and unforgettable way to experience Tampere. It offers a sense of scale and perspective that you simply can't get from ground level. The views are simply spectacular, making it a must-visit attraction for anyone wanting to truly appreciate the beauty and layout of Tampere. It's an iconic landmark for a reason!
Tuấn L — Google review
Näsinneula Restaurant offers a stunning setting with breathtaking views over Lake Näsijärvi and the nearby amusement park. The atmosphere is truly unique, thanks to the revolving tower and the elegant interior. The food was very good, well-prepared and nicely presented. Service was smooth and professional throughout the visit. One downside was the restroom facilities — they were quite small for the number of guests, and the soap dispenser was broken during our visit. Overall, a solid dining experience in a beautiful location. Definitely worth a visit for the views alone!
TravelWithPuzz — Google review
To get to the highest point, you need to go upstairs to a restaraunt which is fine dining. The restaraunt slowly moves around and you can enjoy amazing views. The area below it is nice and has binocycles you can pay with coins to use. Nice views and the elevator is very fast, your ears might get "locked", so be aware of that.
Toni — Google review
Great views and nice experience overall. The rotating tower gives you a full 360° look at Tampere, and it’s cool to just sit and watch the city slowly shift around you. They give you a complimentary drink with the ticket, which was a pleasant surprise. Only downside is the price, it feels a bit high for what’s essentially a short visit unless you’re planning to eat at the restaurant. Still, worth checking out at least once, especially if you're new to the city.
Humberto D — Google review
Great experience, you can see so far away and it's very tall. The elevator was very cool too!
Oliver K — Google review
The observation deck is amazing (not free to access, though) but it is a very stunning experience. We went to the restaurant for a fine dining. Everything went okay but mind that you go here mainly for the views rather than for the catering (there were quite a few hiccups including a spilled drink all over the table by the staff). You will not overeat with a full Finlandia menu - no worries if you come not too hungry. Drinks are not cheap by any means. Three spins around the city views completes the experience. Paid 120 per person with drinks. It is fine for a one-time experience, I guess.
Aleksandr O — Google review
Reserve! Food itself was good if you take the eg Finland menu. Otherwise you will have to go to a second restaurant afterwards because you WILL leave hungry! Portions are *teeny tiny*and service is not very attentive. You will have to wait long time for next course. In-between you might need to make yourself aware, otherwise also no drinks while waiting for the food.

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
Nestled within the vibrant Särkänniemi Adventure Park, the Särkänniemi Aquarium offers a delightful experience for families and marine enthusiasts alike. While it may not be the largest aquarium around, its charm lies in its intimate setting where visitors can explore various exhibits at their own pace. The aquarium showcases an array of fascinating fish species, along with some intriguing reptiles like snakes and turtles. It's a perfect spot to engage children with nature while learning about aquatic life.
Free entry during Tampere Day Oct 1. Can see few species of fishes, a couple of snakes water gators and turtles.
Al J — Google review
It’s such a small place, it takes you about 10-15 minutes to visit everything here. And you don’t get to see something that special. Is ok for enjoying with the kids but, that is about it! A little bit disappointed.
Rusu C — Google review
The aquarium is fine, not very big so it can be seen in around 1 hour. There are stairs and no elevator so a pram was not possible to be used for our child. Downside is all information about the animals is written in Finnish, except for a few facts here and there. Be wary, there’s parking in the amusement park premises, but it costs 18€ independently of the length of your stay, which is crazy expensive!
Francesc — Google review
It's a really nice aquarium with a lot of animals. They have the "stars", animals that have been there for a long time and have a good story behind them, super interesting to know. The only problem is that it's not too big but it's amazing and they have a lot of different species!!
Daniel G — Google review
The aquarium consist of two floors with about 30 exhibits. Some of which are terrariums and paludariums. Sadly many of the tanks are quite cramped with fish. They have a sturgeon that is barely able to swim in circles. Other tanks are in dire need of a proper cleaning. Okayish for young children to look at the animals. The price was €10 and you're done in around 1 hour.
Cyclonit — Google review
Small but cute and enjoyable place. Very good addition to the rest, which makes a good combination for making the day fun for everybody.
Tommi W — Google review
Quite nice place, not the biggest aquarium but if you take the time to thoroughly look at every exhibition, and read all the information about every fish, youll be plenty entertained. Good experience, some fascinating fishes.

Museums
The Sara Hildén Art Museum, also known as Sara Hildenin Taidemuseo, is a prominent art destination in Finland. It features a diverse collection of over 4,500 contemporary artworks from both Finnish and international artists. The museum's modernist architecture by Pekka Ilveskoski seamlessly blends with the natural surroundings, creating a serene setting for art appreciation. Visitors can enjoy not only the indoor exhibits but also outdoor sculptures on the museum grounds.
We visited Heikki Marila exhibition that was well curated and perfect fit for the wonderful brutalist concrete building by architect Pekka Ilveskoski. There was an audio guide giving background information for the works and reducing the amount of typical texts on walls. The café was modest but had exhibits and a wonderful view of the lake. The sculpture garden outside is nice in the summer.

This was impressive .. but did expect more from yhis place so I feel like I was let down. Though the museum wasn’t that big, the art pieces there are beautiful.. also the plain concrete wall behind made those pieces stood out even more.
Sulata D — Google review
This moderately small museum has very interesting exhibitions, the latest being WE by Thomas Houseago and also smaller exhibitions by Nick Cave and Brad Pitt. It's a place to see in itself, it is situated by the lake Nasijarvi in Tampere. It's about 20 minute walk from the central square of Tampere or you can take a bus to get there.
M M — Google review
A small 2 storey museum with a cafe located a little outside the city centre. The museum was showcasing a temporary exhibition by THOMAS HOUSEAGO – WE WITH NICK CAVE & BRAD PITT. The art and sculptures featured were abstract. It was a curiosity to experience and contemplate the tempest of Brad Pitt in his art pieces e.g. the acrylic blocks of bullet sprays slowed and frozen in time. The life of the devil conveyed in a series of porcelain pieces from birth to death was unusual since the devil is more populary accepted as immortal. Brings to mind the Song by Joan Osborn "One of Us". We would have liked to have seen the permanent artworks of local artists collected by Sara Hilden but sadly none were on display. The visit took less than 2 hours, a part of the time was spent at the café. FOOD AT SARA'S CAFÉ: 👍👍👍👍 Cosy café with really delicious, creamy chocolate cake and good brewed coffee. The museum is water facing, has very limited but free parking. Place is wheelchair friendly.
Pyrognats — Google review
It's one of the prettiest museums that I have ever been to. I absolutely loved it, and they gave out free audio guides!
Aleksandra P — Google review
Not crowded at all, so that was great!! It had a nice small selection of modern art pieces, which we mostly checked out because some of them where made by Brad Pitt 😅 Quite interesting, it's just behind Sarkaniemi so it's easy to get there. There are also some art pieces outside, so be sure to explore that area as well :)

Pyynikki Coffee Shop & Observation Tower

Located in the Pyynikki district of Tampere, the Pyynikki Coffee Shop & Observation Tower is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The small cafe, nestled in the old observation tower, is renowned for its freshly baked and delicious doughnuts that are a hit on social media. Visitors can also enjoy locally roasted coffee from Tampereen Paahtimo while taking in the stunning panoramic views from the 26-meter lookout tower atop Pyynikki hill.
Famous for their donuts / munkki, always fresh and very tasty. Good traditional Finnish coffee, and tea. The space is simple but cozy. Great spot in Tampere, worth going for a walk in the woods and checking the views up on the tower.
Eduardo P — Google review
Great local cafe! We really enjoyed the Mukkis (kinda like a donut but a different batter and taste). The Kinkkupiirakka (ham pie) was absolutely amazing. I suggest the local soda made by the cafe. They have a strawberry and spruce flavor. Both are good. They have tea, coffee and juice as well. After we ventured up to the top of the tower to take in the beautiful view of the city. You can take the stairs or ride the elevator. There are a few stairs then at the end to get to the top. We had a beautiful day with breathtaking skies. Definitely recommend. After there are trails to walk that can take you in any direction in town. All tree covered, at least in the summer.
Kristy V — Google review
The donut texture is great, nice and chewy. The flavor is good but has cardamom, which may turn some people off. I also liked the cheesecake a lot. It didn’t have a very strong cheese flavor and tasted slightly of vanilla. When I went there was a long line. They have another location at Tampere Market Hall, which is also closer to everything else in the city. I didn’t verify that the food was the same though
Matt L — Google review
I haven't been here since we lived in Tampere in 1997. This place was on my bucket list upon returning for a vacation in July of 2025. It's the first place I ever tried a Finnish munkki. It did not disappoint! Beautiful scenery, fabulous views of Tampere and the lakes, plus delicious munkki with coffee ☕️. I'm so glad this lived up to my memories. ($2 to ride the elevator to see the views.)
Wendy R — Google review
They have vegan donut (only large size, 3 euros) and it was very tasty! A bit too much sugar for my taste but I could just shake some off and everyone else said it wasn’t too much. Coffee also was surprisingly good for coming from a filter coffee machine. Probably because there’s a lot of people buying and the coffee is made frequently. The line can be long since it’s a small and busy shop.
S L — Google review
It takes some effort to find the Pyynikki tower when you come by public transport, but it's totally worth a visit! The donuts are freshly made and just delicious (if you like cardamom!). Tickets to the observation tower cost only 2 euros for adults, so that's a bargain! From downstairs the tower looked disappointingly low to me, but since the tower is on the top of a hill, the view is great anyway! If you don't feel like walking up the stairs, there's an elevator as well. Tip: you can go even 1 floor higher to the roof.
Vinodh L — Google review
I'm Polish, so I know what a good doughnut is like, and these are excellent doughnuts ;) We came on a rainy Sunday afternoon, so it was not too busy and we could enjoy the food from a cozy window overlooking the forest. It is possible to park for free at the top along the road leading to the tower, there is a free toilet, and the café can be accessed without paying the fee for the tower.
Natalia M — Google review
Probably the best doughnuts I have ever had. Make sure you try the spruce lemonade soda. It's made in house and it's fantastic.

Beware: "K18" means 18+ Very disappointed to find that out at the door. Customer service was no help and after more than an hour only able to offer two names of patrons seeking tickets; neither of whom actually were. I read the info section at least twice and did not get any idea that we would be denied entry since the only mention of minors was that they required a guardian to accompany them.
M-L A — Google review
Museum exhibits are nice and well curated, but in terms of quantity there really isn't a lot of value for money. The milieu itself is great of course, so spend some time wandering the grounds. Wouldn't bother with the restaurant, the service is slow and quite rude, and they genuinely seem to have no idea what products they have available.

We went years ago and it was lovely! Had a nice waffle with ice cream and strawberries in a table in the grass. Music and lively vibes. But we went a week ago and it changed completely. They dont have the waffle anymore. The outside sitting for the cafe is next to the wall, one next to another, not in the grass around. Its a mess because you come in and theres the cafe buffet restaurant all in the same area. You dont know what is what or whats the price of what. All is there messed up. And prices are crazy. Sorry but never more. Not worth it

Torronsuo National Park is a vast wilderness area in Southern Finland, spanning over 30 square kilometers of bog and forest. It offers well-marked hiking trails, including the 8.5 km Suontaival trail, which takes visitors through the most important areas of the park on long duckboards. The park provides a planked walking route for a serene experience amidst its unique landscape. Visitors can also explore independently with caution and proper navigation tools due to its expansive nature.

If you like bogs - this the place for you! The national park of Torronsuo covers over 30 square kilometers of bog and forest. They have nice well signed trails of various lengths around the park. I like the 8.5 km Suontaival trail which covers most important places. It is a wonderful walk with long long duckboards. I would highly recommend taking it. There are two parking areas with toilets along the trail. Remeber that during the summer there might be a lot of mosquitos so prepare for them accordingly. The park has english www-site with maps.
Heikki K — Google review
Nice trail that leads deep to a swamp. Views are special and so different from what I've seen. Quite and peaceful. The only bad thing was a part of the trail goes along a big road with 80 km/h speed limit. It spoils the impression. Moreover it is dangerous as there's no pedestrian line.

This is a fun and interactive place for families to visit. It has a quest for kids, a buffet and lots of fun info. This museum tells about the old times how people loved in Finland. It has a outdoor exhibition which contains old buildings, old machines and even rabbits, chickens and sheep!
Aleksandra T — Google review
Great place to visit with kids that we just discovered. We have been exploring smaller towns of Finland and discovered this museum of agriculture in Finland in a small town of Loimaa in Finland. The place is actually great for kids, offers really many interaction possibilities, you can actually sit at a drivers seat of a harvester with a video projecting the field and your operating the vehicle. Also many other similar small activities that were absolutely enjoyed by our two sons (2 and 5 year old). Also there is an outdoor exhibition of some old farm buildings which is nice to explore when the weather is good. I strongly recommend to visit this place, with or without children. Also it has some great lunch buffet, homemade food quality, at normal buffet prices.

We went to see an exhibition by Mari Rantanen called Tunne värinä, and loved it. It's a small local museum, but keeping that in mind their space and all exhibitions I've seen have been great. The curators clearly know what they're doing. There's also a free tour every day that's included in the ticket price, possibly only in Finnish though, which is nice. Driving from Helsinki to Turku this is our must see stop every time there's a new exhibition.

(Translated by Google) A nice place to spend a rainy day ☔️ Neat. There is a cafe where you can get salty and sweet snacks. The space is not very big compared to other indoor playgrounds. (Original) Mukava paikka viettää sadepäivää ☔️ Siisti. Paikassa kahvio josta saa suolaista ja makeaa välipalaa. Tila ei ole kovin suuri muihin sisäleikkipaikkoihin verraten.

(Translated by Google) A nice couple of hours of playtime with the tomtos 2.5 year old. The people of Namila are friendly and you can even follow a little girl in the equipment. The ball cannons in the back corner would require a little adjustment. One single cannon worked as it should. (Original) Mukavaa parin tunnin leikkiaikaa tommosen 2,5-vuotiaan kanssa. Namilan väki on ystävällistä ja laiteissa pääsee itsekkin pienen tytön perässä kulkemaan. Pallotykit takananurkassa vaatisi pientä laittoa. Yksi ainut tykki toimi niin kuin pitäisi.

Kurjenrahka National Park

National park
Outdoor Activities
Established in 1998, this national park includes primeval forests, hiking trails & camping shelters.
Great countryside walking. Beautiful place.

Mostly good and easy access. Some parts with some broken takes and some parts with a little too little o formation and signs where to walk. But if you have a map and common sense this is not a problem

i would say this is a good place to go walking Offers small and big walking trails for the beginners and advanced its very nice and clean offers a place to grill and camp offers free car parking near the entrance has toilets *do need your own toilet paper*

Lovely place. Savojärven kierros is a great one to take on a normal weekend. Though you should be careful with the buss schedules. On some weekdays the busses only go to tontinmäki, which might make it harder to plan during your summer holidays 👀

Good place for a light day hike with nice grilling area and clean toilets. But ugly camping area - tiny ground far away from lake and next to parking and somebody's private yard. I would not recommed to come here for camping with tent.

There are 2 path on this park, one is around the "lake" the other is deep in the lands, both are using wood pieces to step in and walk, but forget about the second which is not open because of old/broken wood pieces (you can go but it is at your own risk cf pictures) So basically there is only one path, savojärven kierros, which means Tour around the lake Savo.. A tour about 5.5km, where you WONT SEE THE LAKE BEFORE 3 KM OF WALKING, instead of that you'll see the swamps, still walking on the wood pieces, firstly you'll find this path lovely and the wood pieces are poetic and funny! But after 3 km in the swamps... You won't I swear. You have to look at your feet every time (a few disappointing for a nature path you'll say) and jeeeez it hurts feet like hell. To end this, some wood pieces are also broken but nothing warns you... We don't recommand this place, ruissalo instead is a good place to see /walk through.

Really great place for hiking even with kids, especially the hike around the lake Savojarvi.Do bring in your own sausages and food and u can enjoy a great barbecue either at Kurjenpesä or Rantapiha. By the way best way to reach park is not what google map suggests. I would recommend to search following lat/long 60.743025,22.424462 there you can nicely park your car and then start towards Kurjenpesä and then cover the lake stretch in circle via Rantapiha.

Kuusisto Bishop's Castle Ruins

Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Ruined, 14th-century castle torn down by Swedish king in 1528, plus museum in an 18th-century house.
Visiting Kuusisto Bishop’s Castle Ruins is a fascinating experience. It’s incredible to imagine a grand bishop’s castle once standing here. It’s wonderful that other medieval castles like Turku, Häme, St. Olaf, Kastelholm, and Raseborg still stand in their glory. The ruins give a hint of what once was, and the sheep roaming around make the place feel more down-to-earth. There is a nature trail close to the castle ruins, and a café next to them. It’s just a short 1 km/0.6 miles walk from the parking lot to the ruins.

If you’ve ever wanted to time-travel without a flux capacitor, Kuusisto Castle Ruins is the place. This historical gem offers a beautifully atmospheric glimpse into centuries past — crumbling stone walls, echoes of medieval life, and nature slowly reclaiming what once stood mighty. 🚗 Getting There: Park your vehicle about 500 meters away and enjoy a pleasant stroll along a gravel path. It’s an easy walk, even for us who aren’t built for marathons. Keep your eyes peeled — you’ll pass bat boxes hanging in the trees, adding a subtle Gothic touch to your journey. 🏰 On Site: The ruins themselves are impressive. You can clearly see old building techniques and imagine the hustle and clatter of life that once filled the castle walls. There’s a circular nature trail wrapping around the site, making it perfect for slow exploration or quiet contemplation. 🍽️ Amenities: There are picnic tables and benches if you’re bringing snacks — very medieval, minus the trenchers and mead. There’s also a restroom available, which is decidedly modern and appreciated. ♿ Accessibility Caveat: Heads-up: this place isn’t ideal for those with limited mobility. The terrain can be uneven, and the path may challenge anyone with dodgy knees or wheels under them. 🛡️ Respect the Past: It’s a protected ancient site. Keep pets leashed, remind the kids this isn’t a jungle gym, and let’s all agree not to chip off souvenirs. The area is under camera surveillance, so Big Brother is watching — or at least a local heritage officer with a security monitor. 📸 Verdict: Absolutely worth a visit. History buffs, romantics, and lovers of crumbling stone walls — don’t miss this one. Bring your imagination and maybe a sandwich.

Perfect place. The ruins are completely accessible and open to the public. It's free. I advise you to see the castle from the inside and walk outside around it. There is parking nearby, as well as plenty of outdoor tables with benches to sit and eat, and a pier. I recommend visiting. Total visit time: 20-30 minutes.

Cool place! I wish parking was closer though. The ruins were interesting with all the elevations, and the view from the top parts was great. The day was hot when we went there, so it would've been nice if the kiosk was open, but it wasn't. A nice, short sight-seeing trip. Our cat Muossi enjoyed it too. :D

Another wonderful site to visit in kaarina. Historic and at the same time breath-taking ruins of old kuusito bishop castle.

Tranquil place to have a walk or a picnic . There is a nature trail nearby, so both activities can be combined. To do that park the car before you reach the manor (There is a P sign on your left) and then follow the signs that will take you through the forest to the hill and down to the castle ruins.

Just some ruins, but if you research the place and its history it is quite interesting. And there was a rare indoor toilet in the castle, which was not usual at that time.
Jere S — Google review
Free visit which includes few trails in the forrest and the old castle site that was definitely worth to visit. The site is clean and there is a cafe & bathrooms, so you can spend some time there if you want. The castle ruins history takes you back in to early 14th century.
