Absolutely amazing that this theatre is still standing and so well preserved through history. We loved the audio guide that we could listen to in English and learn more about the history. A must to visit if you are in the area.

Historical & Epic Roman Theater This is one of the best preserved Roman Theaters in Europe. It is 2000 years old, incredible when you see it. They actually still use it for plays, which I find amazing that this theater still serves its original purpose. Highly recommended visit.

What a beautiful place to have a live concert. Also great history. Lots of children on day camp trips, but still not too long of lines. It is very hot in June, but if you tick to the caves where there are many educational exhibits, then it is bearable. I went over a decade ago, and today experience was much nicer. The VR concert experience was a hit with the family.

An excellent example of Roman Ampitheatre architecture still standing today in such excellent condition. The shear size of it is amazing.

Epic & Historical Castle This is a beautiful Medieval Castle like you can only find in France. The city looks tiny but then you realize they have this marvellous, incredible castle. The visit is highly recommended, this is a magical place. You definitely will not regret it.

A post-revolution rebuild chateau with dito Furniture and art. Nice to visit in the morning and end with a lunch downtown. Although very nice to visit, i think they should be able to expand the number of rooms and exhibition.

Absolutely wonderful worth a visit, rooms well preserved, giving a good peak of life at the chateau. Also Grignan is a beautiful village not to be missed after visiting the chateau.

Very beautiful castle with a rich history in the region. There is not much to see inside it, but the panorama with the view is absolutely magnificent. 8 EUR for an entry for an adult seems a bit pricey though for the content.

Stunning place to cycle to and be apart of history. Of course you can enjoy the views from the top not only bike bike but be respectful for the riders to your journey to the top

One of the visual landmarks that watch over Provence. For cycling enthusiasts, climbing to the top is a once-in-a-lifetime goal. For those with sporty inclinations, the ascent can be approached both on foot (there are marked routes) and by bicycle. This time, we went up by car starting from Malaucenne. Numerous cyclists on the road, of all ages, to whom drivers must be cautious and offer them the necessary courtesy in traffic. I was impressed by several mountain running enthusiasts I met along the way. The scenery is superb, especially in the alpine hollow area, where the view is absolutely gorgeous at 360 degrees. Pay attention to the weather because, at the top, weather conditions can change radically in a few minutes. Even though it was hot down in the valley (34-36 C), up on the peak, it was only 20-21, and the cold wind was blowing hard. Have a jacket ready, too. Don't forget your supplies as upstairs there is only a souvenir shop and a small bar with a relatively limited offer. Even if you only have one day to visit Provence, if the weather is excellent and the sky is clear, I recommend starting the day with the ascent of Mont Ventoux and then checking off a few other unmissable places: Gordes, Roussilo on, Abbaye de Sennanque, Chateaxuneuf du Pape , Avignon.

You can’t help but feel it’s a cyclists mountain and large amounts of guilt plus ‘hats off’ to all cyclists who make it to the top. Don’t forget a nod to Tom Simpson’s monument near the top. Do read ‘Put me back on my bike’ by William Fotheringhay about his life.

Very interesting surreal place to visit and explore. There are lots of intricate and whimsical details to look at and enjoy. It's really cool to see one person's dedication to building something that he dreamt about and put his life efforts into.

Le Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval, or the Ideal palace of postman Cheval. This place is a hidden gem of the art i like. Do you like Escher, Dali, and Gaudi? Then you will enjoy this 'Palace'. Don't be fooled, though. It's not that big or will keep you interested for an entire day, but it is a must-see if you are in the neighborhood.

Cool castle made of polished stones, worth a detour. A colossal solo work of 33 years by the horse mail man.

Beautiful museum detailing all Lumière history, starting with Auguste and Louis' father. They had lots of antique models, some of them working, even! Reproductions of their first recordings, bits and pieces of the society's reaction at the time and some original photos. I thought the price was fair for the experience. As with most historical buildings, there was no elevator and the exhibits were accessible only by stairs. There were some audio descriptions but not for everything. In the boutique there were lots of old movies, too. All in all, a very interesting experience and definitely a must see in Lyon. After the museum you should also visit the spots they filmed their first recordings in the town too ;)

This was an amazing home converted into a wonderful museum about the Lumiere Brothers and their invention of the cinematograph. Lots of early inventions on show along with a great timeline of their evolution. Truly amazing what they gave to the world. Easy to get to from central Lyon via the metro. Took about 10 mins from Place Bellecour Metro. You can buy your tickets at the door. They also have a small gift shop. At the moment (June 2025) there is construction out front of what would be the front entrance. You enter from the side via the garden. The door isn't well labelled as the entrance (see pic with the banners draped down). Well with a visit.

Beautiful small museum in the Lumière mansion decorated circa 1900. I enjoyed how the exhibits traced the family history of the Lumière brothers and the historically important Tulle Gras Lumière to treat burn victims. In parallel, the museum traces the development of cinematography, culminating in the creation of the first film in 1895. This is a fascinating single subject museum leading to a deep understanding of this culturally significant event. Chapeau!

Interesting museum of the history of the Lumiere family and their contributions to cinematography. The family story (shown by numerous vignettes) was very interesting, as were the short films on the second floor. It's a bit out of the way if you have a Lyon city card but worth visiting if you are nearby.

Not suitable for everyone who has already seen the bigger brother in Hamburg. Absolutely no comparison: Mini World lacks details, originality and quality: no weathering, even 300 yr old buildings look like newly constructed, some walls have even been cut out of printed paper. The cars are mostly 1:1 bought and often misplaced. There is hardly any motion: nearly no car moves, maybe 2 or 3 trains are in motion. Weird arrangements of things (see photos): lego buildings, bought toy robots etc. A lot is not working: trains stand still, half of the button functions is not working or so unspectacular that you don’t realize it. Light flashes where it shouldn‘t. At night all lights are either on or off, no realistic gradual light changes. Only plus was the newly added Jurassic Park model which was built with a bit more love. We absolutely loved this! Two adults and a kid, the kid was running around trying to find little Mr Men whilst we were entranced looking for the film, TV and popular culture references. I could have spent hours there, I was captivated by it all, genuinely a brilliant excursion and something we'll do again the next time we return to Lyon

I came here because it was included in the Lyon City Card and I enjoyed my time here (even though it seems like it’s more for kids). They have a lot of displays with miniature dolls and scenes. They even give you a booklet to try to find all the popular ones like Marilyn Monroe, Aliens, Mary Poppins, Harry Potter, Nemo, Jurassic Park, etc. I wouldn’t come here again alone (as an adult), but I would definitely come here with kids and easily spend 2h: trying to find all the characters. It also wasn't crowded when I came during the weekend.

Myself and my kids loved this small, quirky museum. You could easily spend a long time here because there are so many details to explore. The creators of the mini worlds have a brilliant and bonkers sense of humour - some of the scenes are hilarious with random penguins, dinosaurs and monkeys scattered around, and people in compromising situations. An added bonus is the 3d cinema showing 2 short films. Free entry with the Leon City Card. Also very quiet - probably because it's a bit out of the city centre.

Fantastic, very touristy nowadays but there are still some hidden gems that are quiet but you’ll need a car to find them (one was through an industrial estate so very hidden). Restaurants are great and people very friendly

This would have been beautiful in the right weather. It was just our luck that we arrived in the height of Summer, at the end of a heatwave and were met with heavy rain and thunderstorms o the water didn't have its famous greenish-blue hue. It is a lovely natural beauty surrounded by mountains.

I was just remembering how much we loved it there last year. My son and I rented bikes and went all around the lake. We also got a pedal boat and took a swim. Saw some young people doing a rope swing jump and did that too. Fabulous.

I took a day trip from Lyon, a great place, I'm sorry I only stayed one day, it's definitely worth 2-3 days! A place not to be missed if you're in the area!

It is a MUST to go, partying, water scakating, swimming and lots of boat cruises around the great lake surrounded by magnificent mountains. 30 min away and your up amongst snowy mountains as early as September.

Impressive cathedral in the old town area with lots of period buildings around it. On a bit of a raised area but an easy walk up. Quiet, peaceful, can sit for as long as one likes. Free to enter, as it should be, but is not in some places. Different parts obviously built/added/repaired/rebuilt at different times, which is always interesting. Well worth a visit.

Undoubtedly, this is a majestic cathedral in the heart of Geneva, with stunning Gothic architecture and a historic stone façade. The church is very well preserved, and from its current state, you can almost imagine the grandeur it must have had 1,000 years ago. Inside, the serene atmosphere, detailed sculptures, and beautiful architectural features make it a remarkable place to explore. A must-visit for anyone interested in history or architecture.

Visiting St. Pierre Cathedral in Geneva was truly memorable. One of the highlights for me was climbing the 160 steps to the top of the tower. The stairwell is narrow and may be a little intimidating for some, but the effort is completely worth it. Once at the top, you’re rewarded with stunning panoramic views of Geneva and the surrounding area—perfect for photography enthusiasts. The cathedral also has a small shop where you can browse a selection of cards and postcards as a memento of your visit. Inside and out, the cathedral offers plenty of opportunities for taking beautiful photos, from its impressive architecture to the breathtaking vistas from the tower. Despite the slightly nerve-wracking climb, it’s an experience I’d highly recommend.

This cathedral is a highlight located in the center of Geneva's old town. The top offers a great view over the city and the lake. I recommend combining a visit with a walk to the beautiful nearby square "Place-Du-Bourg-de-Four" (my favourite place in old town). Take a break there for a snack and a drink. Enjoy!

I always try to visit at least one church during my travels, though sometimes it doesn’t work out. I’m so glad I made it to this cathedral—it was actually one of the reasons I wanted to visit Geneva in the first place. I’d heard about the 157-step spiral staircase, and let’s just say I realized how out of shape I was while climbing it! But I made it, and it was absolutely worth it. Such a beautiful piece of history to experience. The fee to go up is currently at 7chp.

Excellent 360° views of the city, lake & mountains. The stairs were in a very good condition compared to other church towers in Europe. The entrance price was included in our tourist city pass so it's a very much worthwhile visit.

Dinner with team after congres day. 2 had filets de perche this fish filets were baked with a tartare sauce nothing to have a waw feeling. 1 penne ciocarna ( see picture) also no real wow effect missong of spices and 1 spaghetti fruits de mer seems was ok. white swiss wine could be better. Staff were really friendly and accommodating despite a language barrier. I was even given a free salad! Food was some of the best me and my friends have ever had and is well priced. The restaurant atmosphere was incredible as well. We all agreed we would absolutely eat here again 👍

I am travelling for work. Great food and even better people. Seems like a family owned business. I had the pugliese pizza and was amazing. But hey!! Be careful with the spicy oil they offer 🥵very hot

The food was delicious and the waiters really helpful to translate to English for us. They even had a English menu. The place was warm and the pizza oven in the heart of the restaurant. It felt like an authentic Italian family business.

If you’re staying in Les Gets, get the ski pass for the whole area. (Morzine and Avoriaz included) Best if you’d go in december or januari because the area has a low altitude. Because of this you can ski between the trees which is very charming. Les Gets is a very expensive area, compared to other French skiing area’s.

I don't think skiing is finished in Les Gets just yet, but I've never had to hike down a muddy slope in ski gear during March before.

The lifty left me and a few friends stranded at the top of mont Chery bubble, as we arrived at the point de mont chery skilift. We was parked at col d'encranaz and wouldn't allow us on lift to get back home even though there was people on the chairs still. Had to walk to the top of mont Chery in the dark with an incoming storm, with strong winds. I have asthma and one of my friends was carrying an injured little toe so he was struggling to walk, we had to make a stretcher out of skis and drag him up so he could Also make it home. Luckily we all survived I don't know how. Definitely do not recommend, very unfriendly lift staff using the excuse the pistes were closed. By time we got to top they were still in a state to descend. Wouldn't happen in Morzine or avoriaz. Would recommend staying over in other resorts if you are after friendly staff and lifts that are comfy and work well, which actually allow you to get home.

In the summer you have here various options to entertain yourself, paragliding, great mountainbike tracks and lots of hiking trails. You can take a gondola or chairlift up and walk down if you don't want to walk up first. Also some of the walks are good for kids and a few you can even bring your trolley.

A beautiful part of the world every season of the year and this place sees 4 distinct seasons. Great family skiing in the winter and superb mountain biking in the summer. Events take place throughout the year, don't miss out!

Great place to stay or live if you love hiking climbing biking skiing or rafting. So many nice places to see and relax.

We arrived from Milan Sept 6, 2025 just in time for the 3 days Freddie Mercury birthday celebration. I enjoyed the celebration right there in Lake Leman so happy to celebrate 🥳 his birthday and experience where he once stood. The museum dedicated to Queen is just 200 meters from his statue.

Enjoyed the walk around Lake Geneva, admiring the many statues, small or lifesize. The iconic one of Freddie Mercury was like icing on a cake. However I do wish someone would clean up the statue once in a while, there is just too much junk hanging on him and around him as gifts from well meaning fans.

When in Rome...er, Montreux. Worth a visit for a photo or two if you've got the time. And there's a gelateria just a block away! Hang out on/near the lake right there at the coolest public bench circle ever made, then take a stroll along the lake - preferably near sunset.

As a lifetime fan of Freddie, I took a 4 hour detour, just to go and pay respect to the greatest singer and entertainer if all time. He has a beautiful spot with a great view of the lake. I'm sure he would have loved it.

The great representation of a Titan of music. A little hard to get a great photo as they were doing some construction around the area. At one point, he even had a do not cross tape wrapped around 1 foot as they made a fence to do some work on the viewing platform for the lake. I did manage to get one or two good shots. If you can get a picture of him from the side with the mountains and the lake on a nice day it is very breathtaking in a view. I’m sure he appreciated when he was in town to record music.

Statue of Freddie Mercury (Real name: Farrukh Bulsara) was a British singer and songwriter who achieved global fame as the lead vocalist and pianist of the rock band Queen. This statue is a tribute to him and serves as a memory of the days of his life he spent in Montreaux, Switzerland. The location is also stunning alongside Montreaux promenade. Tip: Don't forget to visit his recording studio in Montreaux. Search on google maps: Queen Studio Experience. Entry is free.

Well maintained castle, modestly furnished, with a collection of interesting frescoes and murals. Strategically built on a small island, it used both the Lake Geneva and a moat created between the island and the mainland for defense. Our group had arrived in the late afternoon just in time to enjoy free wine tasting of some local wines, then proceeded to explore the medieval halls and underground chambers. The view from some rooms onto the lake and the Alps is stunning. It is the most visited monument in Switzerland.

This lakeside Castle with breathtaking view was stunning, pictures didn't do it justice. Its magical setting made it one of Switzerland’s most enchanting landmarks. I fully enjoyed my visit, highly recommend.

Château de Chillon is actually really big to explore, especially with the guided map they provide you. I was so tired, a lot of exploring new rooms that never seem like it would end. If you didn’t know, this castle inspired Prince Eric’s in The Little Mermaid. You can hear tons of water sounds by the prison area. It was relative peaceful for me as there weren’t much crowds and kids, so sometimes I got to explore rooms alone.

It lets you wonder alone around the castle which is a magical experience. The castle is in great conservation, and the dungeons are particularly beautiful. Would recommend this visit if you’re around. You can buy tickets directly upon arrival, and the audio guide takes like 2h to complete

The best view I’ve had from any castle I’ve visited so far. The castle is beautifully preserved, with authentic medieval furnishings that clearly took great effort to maintain. It’s generously open to the public, with access to nearly every corner—even up the creaky wooden staircases, which add to the sense of stepping back in time. Free entry for Swiss pass holders. Two hours or longer is needed.

Fascinating experience. We spent several hours wandering through the castle. The careful preservation of this site allows an understanding of history, with excellent access to all areas both indoors and outdoors and detailed information boards throughout. It is also a lovely lakeside walk from Montreux (after ferry from Lausanne) and a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating is opposite. A truly wonderful morning.

Chillon Castle is a medieval island castle located on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, near Montreux. It is the most visited historic monument in Switzerland. Come for their nice history and good lake views, indeed very photo worthy! After all it’s free with SWISS TRAVEL PASS.

Gorgeous hike up and down, but your knees have to be fit enough! About 14km, took us 5h up and down including a break and stops to watch the animals and nature. The views at the top are stunning!

Beautiful hike and very customizable to the people you are with. The food at the different restaurants is amazing and the views are breathtaking. Even though it was very hot the day we went, the tree coverage protects you from the worst heat. Recommend to go in the morning though!

You can hike from the city of Noiraigue. Depending on how fit you are it will take more or less time. I needed about an hour and a half to reach the top (and the trail is steep!) but it is absolutely worth it. It is a great place to visit and I will certainly go again someday! If you are not that fit I am afraid this is not the place for you.

Magical place. I was there for stargazing. Nice, dark skies. Biel is visible though. But the atmosphere makes up for it.

Great view but hard trail to hike up How to get there? If you take public transportation, you get off at railway station: Noiraigue. The way up: you will turn left, then right, then you follow the signs to sightsee spot: Le Soliat. That are two paths upwards: I took the right side one, it is relatively long, but not so steep. Be careful that the way up is very nature, you will need good hiking shoes! Plan more time if you have kids with you. It took us 3 hours to up, and 2 hours downhill. The path is quite rough and tough, I warned you 😂 If you drive there, it might drive up to the restaurant Le Soliat. Please call them to verify. I would recommend this way for my next visit.

La Maison du Gruyère is a charming stop if you’re visiting the Gruyères region. The self-guided tour is short but informative, giving a nice overview of how the famous Gruyère cheese is made. You can see the production process through glass windows (especially interesting if you go in the morning when cheese is being made), and the free audio guide adds good context in multiple languages. You’re given cheese samples at different stages of aging, which is a nice touch. The interactive parts are kid-friendly and engaging, and the gift shop offers a wide range of local cheeses and souvenirs at reasonable prices. However, the experience is more educational than hands-on, so don’t expect to make your own cheese or interact with the cheesemakers. Still, it’s a great stop for an hour or so, especially if combined with the nearby Gruyères Castle or the chocolate factory in Broc. Worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Great experience! The food was traditional Swiss fondue. It was served with bread and potatoes that made a perfect pairing. If you dont like cheese this is definitely not the place for you. While the cheese is very good it can become a bit of a heavy meal. Next to the restaurant you could see where they keep all the cheese. This was such a cool thing to see. The gift shop was great too! They had lots of Swiss chocolate, cheese and kitchen tools.

The tour was very much shorter than expected. although very informational, and quite entertaining, I felt it went by too quickly. They gave us cheese to try before we started our tour, and boy was it delicious. We are glad we did it, and would recommend it to anyone! The cheese will not disappoint

Love their cheese! Kids had a great time in the park next to their restaurant's outdoor seating. We ordered ice cream and it was delicious! Very cute items in their shopping area. Great wine, too!

Wonderful museum that I enjoyed more than anticipated! The metal canisters contain the different elements that cows eat and you can smell them! The aromas range from flowers, to grass, to herbs... Amazing! After smelling them I was able to identify a few in the samples of cheese given on entry!

Fantastic Medieval Castle For me this is one of the most fabulous castles in Switzerland with Chateau de Chillon or Vaduz (actually in Liechstenstein). The reason I really like it is the fact it is so well preserved you almost feel like you could be in the 13th century. The wood is still there which is quite unique. The whole feel is very grand. Bonus is that once you are here you can eat a great fondue in one of the local restaurants. Super worth it and recommended.

Enjoyed the visit to the castle very much, I happened to visit during medieval festival which was wonderful. Spent a couple of hours there. Lovely gardens as well. A great day's outing. I recommend going early morning to avoid crowds.

A nice small castle in Gruyère. You will learn how it changes over time as it was owned by a local count to the a rich artist family and lastly as a museum. The castle is interesting since it has also been used as a personal residence of artist family so there are a few rooms that looks like 19th century European home. You can also see beautiful scenery of surrounding village from the castle and also takes picture of beautiful garden. Two negative things that can be improved are: 1) There is a large signboard in the courtyard for ad. 2) There are some modern art installations that feel out of place within the castle (not dedicated space). Both break the immersion. Recommended to visit. 👍 Tips: You can buy join ticket with Maison du Gruyère or Giger Museum or Tibetan Museum.

This is a beautiful small town nestled in the swiss Alps. There are lots of shops and 3 cool museums to visit as well as a castle. The food was great but like in all the other reviews it's expensive. So if you want to eat cheep stop at the grocery store or McDonald's before heading up to the town.

Although we did not go inside, we enjoyed very much walking through the lovely town of Gruyeres all the way up to the castle and admired the beautiful view.

Although growing up in Switzerland, I had never visited Château de Gruyères before and hadn't even been aware of its existence. But I came across it online when planning my most recent visit to the country, and I'm glad I did, because it's an absolute gem and shouldn't be missed by anyone in the area! Unlike many other castles, it's well furnished, so lots of things to look at inside. Especially the tapestries I found sensational. There are also extensive exhibits that tell the story of Swiss tourism, which I found fascinating. Wondering around the castle was a real eye-opener, feeling like a true step back in time, interesting and educational. One thing to slightly criticise: The official Website is very slow, which can be a bit frustrating. Just wondering whether it's running on a slow server, which might benefit from an upgrade. I noticed this when planning the trip and just checked again now, encountering the same problem.

You can combo the castle ticket with the gruyere factory down below. Nice castle with perfect views up and down the valley. Three levels are open with a descent amount of artifacts. The fireplaces are something to pay attention to.

Old Town Bern is picturesque both in the day and night. Can take Bus 12 from main square to Bear Park and return. If you stay in hotel, can get activation code for free bus ride in Bernapp. Else, can park at Casino car park but it's expensive.

Visiting the Zytglogge was a highlight of my trip to Bern. This 13th-century clock tower is not just a beautiful landmark, it’s a piece of living history. I arrived a few minutes before the hour and was amazed by the mechanical figures and the precise chime—it feels like stepping back in time. The surrounding Old Town streets are charming, full of cafés and little shops, making it a perfect spot to explore after watching the show. Whether you love history, architecture, or just a great photo opportunity, the Zytglogge is a must-see in Bern.

Walking through Bern’s Old Town, I stumbled upon Bim Zytglogge and was instantly charmed. The area around the clock tower feels like a slice of history—cobblestone streets, medieval buildings, and the hourly show of mechanical figures on the astronomical clock. It’s a lively spot, with locals and tourists mingling, and plenty of cafés and shops nearby.

Such a nice Watch tower. Very interesting and of course, full of historical events to tell from it and its city, Bern. Really a great stop-by spot, a must when you'd like to see the spectacle of the watch with its figures moving at 6pm.

Its a big old clock. There is some entertaining bits on the west side every hour but dont expect anything dramatic like a giant cuckoo clock. Pretty cool though for an 800 year old piece of work.

In my opinion, Bern's old town is one of the most beautiful and compact in the world. Its specialty is the arcades formed by the old buildings lining the streets. The arcades are lined with shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, etc. It is worth walking around the old town, also along the banks of the Aare River, and climbing to the Rosengarten to admire the magnificent view of the old town. Every time I visit Bern I feel amazed.

A beautiful town, probably the nicest in Switzerland. In the morning it is less crowded and the streets are well conserved. The prices are really high, which makes the costs hardly affordable for foreigners

You are unwinding the clock back 500 years ago to experience the lifestyle in medieval time. The old street (made of sandstones), clock tower, cathedral surrounded by garden and river are breathtaking.

Beautiful and quaint little old town in the capital of Switzerland! I got there early so the streets were rather empty and it was nice taking a slow stroll down this street. The street was lined with familiar brands/shops, the trams ran down both sides and I almost felt like I was transported back to medieval times - except the modern shops bring me back to the present. If you walk further down, you’ll end up at the Bear Pit, another little tourist attraction of Bern.

We visited on a bit of an overcast day but the skies cleared and offered spectacular views of Interlaken. We purchased the special ticket offering return trip on the Harder Klum Funicular and a set lunch menu at the Panorama restaurant at the top. Great value. The trip is also wheelchair accessible however you need to locate the back entrance which is further up the road from the main boarding area, on the first side entrance on the left. Well worth the visit.

Absolutely amazing! The funicular is super fun and the views at the top are insane — mountains, lakes, everything. The viewing platform is a must, and the restaurant has great vibes too. Perfect spot for sunset. Don’t miss it if you’re in Interlaken 👍

The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking — definitely one of the best panoramas in Switzerland. The ride up was smooth and easy, and once you get there, the viewing platform makes it feel like you’re floating above Interlaken. We loved taking our time at the top just soaking in the mountains, the lakes, and the fresh air. Such a peaceful and memorable place. Totally worth the trip — highly recommended!

We recently visited Harder Kulm, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Located above the beautiful town of Interlaken, this panoramic viewpoint offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, lakes, and the iconic Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks. The journey to the top is an adventure in itself taking a funicular ride from Interlaken up to the summit ( there happens to be a pretty steep hike as well that can take you up there) was smooth, comfortable, and gave us our first taste of the stunning alpine scenery. Once at the top, we were greeted with a 360-degree vista that truly took our breath away. The observation platform is perfect for photos, and we spent quite a while just soaking in the views. We also had a chance to explore the area a little more, with well-maintained paths leading to even more scenic spots around the summit. One of the highlights was the viewing platform's ( also referred to as the two lakes bridge as you get to see the Thun and Brienz lakes) glass floor.Stepping out onto it felt like flying over the town of Interlaken, and it was a thrilling experience. For those who are a bit more adventurous, there also are a couple of hikes around ( one’s simple the other being a challenging strenuous hike) where you can feel completely surrounded by nature and mountains. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the warm atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing day out or an adventure in the mountains, Harder Kulm delivers both in spades. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the area and it's definitely worth the visit!

Fun steep ride up to the view point. Unfortunately the weather fogged up and stares to rain. We took some quick pictures and headed back to beat the crowds on the return trip. This was included in our travel pass so we figured we'd check it out no matter the weather.

After a short funicular ride, the view from top of Harder Kulm was fantastic, even on a semi-cloudy day. I really enjoyed the visit.

Visited Harder Kulm with my wife and kid and absolutely loved it. The view from the top is breathtaking, overlooking Interlaken and the lakes. The funicular ride was smooth and scenic, and the viewpoint is perfect for family photos. A wonderful experience for all ages

This zoo os great with kids. The surounding are made with so many details in mind, everything is green when you walk around. My kids and I loved it. There is great food stations too, amany animals. Especially the aquarium part is super big and nice too. The only downside, its in the middle of the city of Basel, a little hard to get too.

Love love this place- I went pretty late (4-6pm). Although I skipped the crowds, some of the animals were already in their enclosures (not in exhibit), but it didn’t detract from my joy of being there. Loved the vivarium, farm animals, snow leopard, flamingos, meerkats, and penguins. I would have loved to be able to see the new hippo baby though :(.

Zoo was good for a city zoo. I don't want to spoil it so only posted a miniscule amount of photos. I loved going into the bird house. It had some levels to it so find the elevator or stairs. Spent from just after 9am until 4pm.

It is very convenient. With stroller we could go through the whole Zoo. We were lucky we could see all the animals. They have huge space in the restaurant & also banks everywhere to sit.

A very nice zoo – not too big, not too small. There’s a great variety of animals, and even on rainy days you can enjoy several indoor areas. We always love coming here!

It's a very strange and beautiful place. They let the penguins walk freely in the zoo. However, the path was very clean. The staff there were very kind. Everything was good. I was there for 6 hours and I didn't want to leave at all. It was very enjoyable to be with the animals. I wish they were free in the wild, but the animals are having fun there too. The animals are definitely happy there. I recommend you to go there to enjoy being with nature.

What a lovely zoo- lots to see with a variety of animals. I particularly liked the giraffe enclosure. There was also a lovely coffee shop and gift shop near the entrance.

Definitely worth the visit, the building is beautifully crafted. If you walk behind the building you will have an excellent view overlooking the River. Lots of people were having picnics and relaxing here.

Solo travelers are not allowed to climb the towers, for suicide prevention reasons. You can find another tourist and ask to accompany them, but without the employee seeing this. Don't let them know you are strangers. There's a small fee to climb the towers and it's well worth it. Basel Minster was built between the 11th and 16th centuries in a blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles. After the 1356 earthquake, it was significantly rebuilt incorporating Gothic elements such as pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and large stained-glass windows. The cathedral is made of red sandstone and is notable for its two main towers, St. George’s and St. Martin’s, and its patterned tile roof. The Minster served as the Catholic cathedral until the Reformation in 1529, after which it became a Reformed Protestant church. The Gallus Gate at Basel Minster is the oldest Romanesque figure portal in the German-speaking world, built around 1185. In the tympanum is Christ as Judge of the World, accompanied by Peter and a donor figure, while the lintel below shows the Parable of the Ten Virgins. During the Reformation in Basel (1529), iconoclasm took place at Basel Minster as part of the city’s shift from Catholicism to Protestantism. Religious images, statues, and altars that were seen as idolatrous were removed or destroyed. The interior today remains relatively bare compared to its original medieval design.

It was originally built in the 1000’s as a Roman Catholic Cathedral and became a Protestant church. There’s no fee to get in the church but there’s a fee to go up the top. Behind the church is the Rhine River.

Don’t miss the chance to reach the top of the church. While climbing, it might seem like you’ve reached the end, but be sure to check—there’s a good chance there’s a way to go even higher."

Had a free walk around then spotted people paying to go up the towers. We tried this for a small charge and it's well worth the steep steps to go to the 3 levels available. Bit tight at times depending on how many people go up but numbers are controlled.

Basel Minster is absolutely worth a visit! I’ve climbed several church towers across Switzerland, but this one had the narrowest spire staircase I’ve ever squeezed through! It’s a bit of a tight spiral toward the top, but that only adds to the adventure. Once you reach the viewing platform, you’re rewarded with panoramic views of Basel, the Rhine, and even into France and Germany on a clear day. The cathedral itself is beautifully maintained, with intricate stonework and a peaceful courtyard. It’s a perfect mix of charm, challenge, and postcard-worthy scenery. Don’t miss it!

If you're in or neat Lucerne Mount Pilatus is a must see. I took the train from Lucerne to Alpnachstad and then took the cog train up the mountain. I had absolutely perfect weather and the views were stunning. There is a restaurant multiple lookout points and a few trails I hiked. I then took the gondola down the other side of the mountain. Highly recommend!

Beautiful views all around. Be careful about visiting during spring, as parts of the viewing decks may be closed because of snow as late as early june in my experience. The facilities are new and very nice. I would recommend to take the cog rail up, and the gondola down the mountain for the best experience. Worth every penny.

My visit to Mount Pilatus was absolutely unforgettable! The entire journey — from the climb up through stunning mountain landscapes to the breathtaking views at the top — felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The combination of thrilling rides, fresh mountain air, and panoramic scenery makes it a must-visit destination in Switzerland. The facilities are well-organized, clean and tourist-friendly. The staff were helpful and very professional, making the experience smooth from start to finish. Whether you take the world’s steepest cogwheel railway or the aerial cableways, the adventure is incredible in every way. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Switzerland — Mount Pilatus truly feels like being on top of the world!

Mount Pilatus was definitely a highlight of the trip to Switzerland. The weather in mid September was cooperative (it was as warm and sunny on the mountain as in Lucerne). Classic trip as advised: bus, cable cars to the mountain and trip back via cog-wheel train and lake cruise ending in Lucerne. Nature beauty is unreal, hiking a few paths at the top (paved or stairs) is almost a must. Utter surprise how tasty were the local beef hot dogs at the fast food joint on the mountain.

We had a wonderful experience visiting the Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) in Lucerne. It was a beautiful evening, and the entire setting felt almost magical. The iconic wooden bridge, with its charming roof and historic paintings, reflected perfectly in the calm waters of the Reuss River—making it one of the most picturesque spots we’ve seen in Switzerland. What made the experience even more special was the atmosphere around the bridge. As we walked through, the gentle lighting and the flower decorations along the bridge added to the charm. Right nearby, the Old Town was buzzing with life. The streets were lively with cafés, restaurants, and little shops, making it a joy to stroll through. The blend of history, culture, and energy gave the whole area a very warm and welcoming vibe. Walking across the bridge and then meandering through the cobblestone streets of Old Town felt like stepping into a postcard. The combination of medieval architecture, colorful buildings, and the vibrant evening atmosphere made the entire experience unforgettable. If you are in Lucerne, visiting Chapel Bridge is absolutely a must-do, especially in the evening when the city lights and reflections on the river create such a breathtaking scene. It’s not just a landmark—it’s a place that captures the heart and soul of Lucerne.

Chapel Bridge lives up to the hype being the most iconic outdoor attraction in Lucerne. Pictures of the bridge from the river shore streets are more scenic than photos taken from the bridge itself. Given that fire of 1993 destroyed at least two thirds of the bridge, don’t expect too much from exposed paintings. Fortunately, Water Tower was spared and bridge was rebuilt and reopened in 8 months carefully reconstructed to preserve historic details.

Lucerne is beautiful city. The Chapel Bridge is one of the iconic attractions of the city. Very beautiful bridge with nice view of the river and the surrounding.

Beautiful bridge which has significant history; there had been a fire in the 90's but apart from some blackened sections it had been repaired. It was not crowded. It provided lovely views of the mountains, lake and Luzern itself. The wood is lovely and the craftsmanship is evident everywhere with examples of quality joinery etc. It's a short walk from the main railway station. I found it peaceful and calming. We were out of season.

The historic wooden bridge, decorated with colorful flowers and paintings, stretches across the Reuss River with a breathtaking backdrop of mountains and old town buildings. The reflection of the bridge in the calm water adds to its charm, especially around sunset. The whole area has a peaceful yet lively vibe — full of history and beauty. It’s one of those places that perfectly captures the spirit of Switzerland: calm, timeless, and picturesque.

As a tourist attraction, the Lion Monument is relatively small in scale, yet it draws a large number of visitors. The sculpture of the dying lion is strikingly lifelike, full of emotion and quiet power. In front of the carving lies a small reflecting pool, where a few lonely fallen leaves float on the water, adding to the somber mood of the place. Overall, the visit takes about 5–10 minutes. No tickets required.

A truly impressive monument, much bigger than I expected and really beautiful. The Lion of Lucerne is carved directly into the rock to honor the Swiss Guards who died during the French Revolution. The expression of the lion is incredibly realistic and moving. The surrounding park and pond make it a peaceful place to stop and reflect. Definitely worth a visit!

Lion monument was made to honour mercenary soldiers of Switzerland who died during the French revolution. The monument is stunning with huge lion sculpture in a rock with high level detailing. The surroundings are very beautiful and this is an ideal place for photoshop. Don't miss out to see the reflection of lion monument in the small lake below it. This is a must visit place in Lucerne and an important part of Swiss history.

Magnificent though-provoking monument to Swiss guards who died defending French king at the revolution times, emphasizing sacrifice by the people who fulfilled their professional duties to the end at the cost of their lives. It’s a small public park easily accessible by 10 mins walk from Lucerne lake shore. There are restrooms onsite, also expect the park to be crowded almost at any time of the day.

Shaded area with a calm pond and beautifully carved sculpture. There are historical and interpretive signs all around, plus a few benches. Additionally, we found the most technologically-advanced, free public restrooms we'd ever seen here - I seriously almost took a photo of the inside of it!

As a foreigner visiting this place, it was a bit confusing, navigating the labyrinth of pools, hallways, locker rooms, and entrances that required a key fob. That said, this place has a lot of history and is a popular attraction for this small town. It’s a bit pricey unless you plan on spending the whole day.

It was very relaxing. We'll organized too. I enjoyed it. It would be nice if there was a sauna and steamroom that all could use. There was a sauna, at extra cost, but you had to go naked. Not really very british 🤔

Really nice spa! I enjoyed the sauna area especially because there is a warm pool and clothing not required :)beautiful large thermal pool that connects to the outside with a whirlpool was also amazing! Highly reccomend for a day visit

The Cassiopeia Therme in Badenweiler is such a beautiful and relaxing place. We went in the evening, and it was truly magical once it got dark outside - the calm atmosphere, the warm lights, and the peaceful pools made it an unforgettable experience. Everything felt quiet, clean, and perfectly maintained. The combination of indoor and outdoor areas is great, and soaking in the warm water while it’s dark outside is incredibly soothing. A perfect spot to unwind and recharge - we’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Badenweiler!

Very nice place with good prices. The best pools are outdoor, with a beautiful view into old garden. Big choice. Located near romanian ruines, worth to go for a walk before or after the bath.

What a nice Therme/Spa destination, with excellent facilities. Indoor and outdoor pools are all comfortable and warm at around 26.5 degree or more depending on which bath you go. A wonderful Roman bath area, great sauna land with separate pool. Restaurant menu with many options to choose from. Good value. In case you have parked your car at the city carpark nearby you will get 2 hours for free.

To celebrate being in the top 20% of sauna reviewers I went to check out this mountain Therme. The atmospheric grounds look out on to the old ruins of the castle on one side and the old Roman ruins of a bathhouse on the other. If you go with an open mind the Roman bathing suite is really excellent and allows you to imagine yourself as a Roman going through the recommended stages of bathing. There is an opportunity for a soap massage which unusual enough to make it notable. The sauna suite is large, with Aufguss. The stand out is the outside pool which is big enough to have a nice swim and enjoy the edge of the black forest. Don't believe the negative reviews: Cassiopeia is a hidden gem of a Therme.

Beautiful stunning lake with breathtaking view of the alps. There are boat rides available if you are so inclined. Really lovey pristine lake with a magnificent view.

It is one of the most beautiful lakes in the whole of Europe, in my opinion. Obviously, the Alps on one side and Lucerne city on the other side give it ample backdrop for those picture-perfect photographs, but still :) Do not miss the boat rides available from Lucerne harbor. You'll thank me when you take one :)

The lake is absolutely stunning, with calm, clear water. The view feels like something out of a dream, peaceful and unforgettable. Especially loved the yellow bench by the lake side.

Lucerne is a beautiful place with a wonderful atmosphere. The walks along Lake Lucerne and the views of the Alps make this place a magical experience. I can't wait to visit again in August.

Located in the middle of Lucerne city, surrounded by the beautiful Alps Hills. Lake Lucerne is a very picturesque one, probably one of the most beautiful lake in Switzerland. Also is one of the main attractions of Lucerne (while it also has become one of the most recognizable images of the country). It is a symbol of the city and gives a sublime beauty on sunny days. Especially when even the nearby peaks are still snow-covered and can be seen in the background the Pilatus, majestic. There are many boats that allow you to traverse the lake and cross from one bank to another or even cruise excursions to nearby towns. It's a pretty big lake reaching over 210 meters. PS:- Highly Recommended for taking a boat tour around it to enjoy the tranquil beauty it holds.
