It is super funny and awesome that you can pet the zebras, giraffes and camels.

Amazing experience! We took the train from Bari and a bus from the train station + a 30 min walk from Fasano, as there was no shuttle bus during weekdays, but was totally worth it.
We did not have a car, and were planning to take the bus, but we were given a spare car, which made the experience unforgettable.
Amazing experience! One literally feeds giraffes amd zebras out of the car window. Animals are so near that it cannot be compared with any other zoo. Bring 3-5 kg Carrots and buy peanuts for the monkeys! Totally worth it for any age.
The safari tour was great but the rest more la la.. Rest is the second part of walking tour including a funny train and many closed attractions.
Also they forced me to pay extra parking 4 EUR although I paid a family ticket 140 EUR and they know the tour ends with parking and proceeding by foot once through the safari with the car🤣 . Pretty low and embarrassing 👎
But!! The camels are over cool. 🐫
Loved it! Safari from the car was definitely the best part! Bring carrots with you, animals will love it. It can get slow and crowded in the season, so have patience and enjoy the ride. Bring water with you cause it can take 2 hours to just go through the first part in car. You don’t have to buy tickets in advance, you can do it at the gate from your car when you arrive.
Great time spent with the family in the Safari and the park! The park is huge, you can see the animals very close, pet them! The animals are well looked after, there is no bad smell at all! Their territory is large, it looks like the animals are happy in the park! I highly recommend it!
Me and my family had a great time! Every penny was worth it :). The animals seemed happy and freely ran around the park. After our family went through the safari we left without knowing how much is left there,so make sure you don’t make the same mistake! But even if you do,you can come back the same day with the same tickets and you can make sure you don’t miss any more fun! 5 stars❤️
It's well managed and unique (for Europe) place to see lots of exotic animals considerably free in a wide space from the close but safe approach of your car. There are many areas that you are allowed to touch and feed the animals (please don't give them junk or human food, you can buy carrots, peanuts etc. specially for them at the entrance) and areas where you need to stay in your car at all times but it's all worth it. The animals looks like the staff take good care of them which is very important for me considering other similar places or zoo parks in Europe. It's really family/kids friendly place. In the pedestrian area you can find other animals and different zones like reptiles and insects, lake with birds and monkeys where you can have a paid boat ride, there is a rail car (zoo metro) which you can take from one zone to another, a special monkey zone which you can visit with a caged safari style truck and feed peanuts to the animals through a special holes. There is an amusement park in the pedestrian area where you can find food and drinks and have some fun before you take off. Overall a great place for kids and families, we had amazing time there.

I honestly can’t stress enough how important it is to book this wonderful tour if you are planning a trip to Alberobello! Especially if the wonderful Mimo is your tour guide. He is funny, informative and educational and makes for a very insightful and informative tour ending in visiting an actual Trulli house doubling as a museum then a perfectly prepared lunch served in a secret garden whilst being serenaded by a beautiful live music! Pretty but...
I can't help feel that Polignano is a victim of its own "beauty". Certainly worth a visit, but I felt I kept on waiting for it to deliver, and it never did.
It does have an impressive setting, built above and into the shallow cliffs, and it had the typical bars and restaurants to enjoy, with a "new" viaduct where an old Roman one used to be, above THE beach - pebble and crowded, so for viewing from a distance rather than enjoying as a beach.
You also run out of things to experience pretty quickly, so give it an hour for a coffee, beer or glass of wine, and move on!
Free parking up by the station.
A special place to visit! The tall narrow houses clinging to the cliffs with the crashing waves below. Let your eyes soak up the beautiful clear Adriatic sea. Walk the narrow passages in centro storico. Experience the poetry of the little village. Dive back to Roma times.
What a charming place to stay for a long weekend. Polignano a Mare looks like it is straight out of a movie set. This part of Italy (the heel) does not suffer over-tourism so I found it peaceful. The small town is very eye catching, as it's perched precariously on steep sea cliffs. The houses have flower laden balconies and are separated by tight alleyways. You really feel like you are stepping back in time by decades. Your standard run of the mill restaurant here, would be a top class Italian restaurant at home, and the prices are great. There is a statue here dedicated to their favourite son - the famous Italian singer, composer, and actor Domenico Modugno. There is not much English spoken here, so you are better off making the effort to learn some Italian words. If you are in the Bari area, I would advise coming here for a day trip at least, it's that special here.
A very nice small city with narrow streets and fresh sea air. If you dare, you can try swimming down at the rocks because this area is always full of visitors and tourists. While walking at the streets don't miss the beautiful sea view!
I had the pleasure of visiting the historic center of Polignano a Mare at night, and it was truly breathtaking. The area was bustling with tourists, yet it maintained a charming, intimate atmosphere. The streets were lined with numerous eateries, offering delicious gelato and pizza, perfect for a late-night snack.
The art on the walls and light installations added a magical touch, making every corner a visual delight. The small churches scattered throughout the area were adorned with stunning religious art, a testament to the town’s rich cultural heritage. Walking through the narrow alleys, I discovered hidden gems like the Vicolo della Poesia, where poetry adorns the walls, and the picturesque Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II.
Polignano a Mare’s historic center is a must-visit, especially at night when it transforms into a vibrant yet serene haven. Whether you’re interested in history, art, or simply enjoying local cuisine, this place has something for everyone. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore its beauty and charm!

9€ for a combined ticket to the church and museum - well worth it. The building is beautiful and the crypt with the mummy and relics is super interesting. The archaeological site underground is very cool too.

The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Nicholas the Pilgrim, also known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta or Santo Nicola Pellegrino, is a Romanesque Catholic cathedral in Trani, Italy. Made from local pink-white stone and completed mostly by the 1200s, it is an example of Apulian Romanesque architecture.
Basilica is free of charge and only entry to the tower costs 5€. There are about 298 stairs to climb to reach the peak (59 m). Unfortunately you cannot go outside and it is hard to take a good photo beacues of the nets that are installed in the windows, but still it is worthy as from up there you can see the whole castle and the see and it was magical for me.
The entrance to the basilica is from the underground. There are nice frescoes in the crypt, but if you want to switch on the light to see them you must pay.
The basilica made a huge impression on me. I have never seen a church located so close to the see. I really recommend to visit Trani and basilica.

We were able to visit at sunset and it was so beautiful. I cannot believe the colour of the stone. What a beautiful church.
Cathedral is one of the best places to see in the region. There is a lot of history, monuments to see. Unfortunately you can not take a guide inside. It’s located in lovely area, near the park and the port. The liturgy are normally about 10 pm. Inside is a little bit cold, but it’s normal like in this kind of buildings. You can go also to the underground.
Basilica at probably the most beautiful place in the world and a gem of a structure
Another great place to visit. Good place for eating fish and city views. Enjoy coffee. Do something else and avoid the cappuccino. Italians do not drink it after 1500. Get an espressino. Take a wild side around the Basilica.
The Catholic Cathedral of Maria de Santos is famous in Trani for being made of local pinkish-white marble and its majestic presence by the sea.
A beautifully restored church — definitely worth stepping inside. Please be respectful, keep noise to a minimum, and avoid taking photos. It’s wheelchair accessible, and entry was free when we visited. We enjoyed stopping by during an evening walk along the waterfront, followed by some gelato — a lovely experience overall.

The castle itself is very impressive, but everything around it simply ruins the experience.
Parking is paid, as is the shuttle. There's a con man standing by the free restroom trying to take money for admission.
After parking and the shuttle, there's a ticket to the castle itself, which costs 10 euros for a tour inside the castle, which is actually quite small; it takes no more than 15 minutes to explore.
Amazing castle, stunning to look at, but not really much to see inside. Reachable only via rather questionable roads. Still a definite must see when you are in the area.
Amazing Swabian castle dating back to about 1290! It is surrounded by a forest and you only need a few hours to see everything. Bring some good hiking shoes, unless you are able to pay for parking close to the castle. We went during the week and it was not very busy. There are a few great videos inside the castle, which stays amazingly cool in the summer heat!!
We went in early November so it wasn’t too crowded. We parked in the nearby private lot for €5 but I think if you park in the lot ~2km away it’s free. The museum was great. Text panels in Italian and English and braille. Video and tactile exhibits. Audio guide in multiple languages available at an extra cost. Bathrooms on the premises. A restaurant nearby as well. Can be seen in its entirety in under an hour.

Castel del Monte is surely one of Apulia’s symbols: a medieval fortress erected in the 13th century on the western Murge plateau on the outskirts of the beautiful town Andria, along the Adriatic coast of southern Italy.
Built on a hill 540 metres above sea level, the fortress of Castel del Monte in Andria is considered a brilliant example of medieval architecture, reflecting the humanistic culture and vast education of its founder, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Sicily.
The octagonal castle is surrounded by an octagonal tower at each corner.
Mysterious and an almost inhumanly exact geometric shape, some theories claim that the octagon represented the union of the circle and the square.
The octagonal layout gives Castel del Monte the configuration of an elegant stone crown, and is present in all the castle's rooms. There are eight rooms on the ground floor, and eight on the first floor. There are eight towers surrounding the building, all with an octagonal layout and each arranged on one of its eight corners.
This obsessive recurrence of the number eight makes the fortress of Castel del Monte an esoteric place that has fascinated the best scholars for centuries. But the fortress has more mysteries for you to slowly discover during your visit. The building is accessed through the entrance portal, a large Arab-style arch with a Greco-Roman tympanum and Gothic double-arched windows.
The light colour of the limestone and white marble façades also characterises the interior, now stripped of the decorations that once adorned it. The light illuminating the ground floor comes from eight single-arched windows located on each of the eight sides of the floor plan. The same number of windows can be found on the upper floor, with one small difference: seven windows are double arched, while only one, that facing Andria, is triple arched.
You really cannot miss to visit it if you are in Apulia.

The little village is like something from a fairytale.It was a little difficult to get to Monte Sant’Angelo from Foggia but we just had to visit this beautiful church.

I loved it here, being in prayer almost for a week, the staff knew me very well, even the priests and nuns (: It was an honor to worship and see the different Mass of languages, only wish they had English Mass though, it’s very rare. Other than that, be aware …it’s best to go early morning, when they open or when they are about to close. It can get very crowded, especially the weekends.
St. Micheal archangel favorite color is RED! Don’t forget to buy a chaplet and pray on the other part where he appeared.

8/29/2025: I am on Jubilee Pilgrimage with 37 of my fellow pilgrims. Today I saw an image... Who do you see? What I can clearly see is the rock image of 🙏 St. Padre Pio depicted on the masonry wall looking down at the entrance way of the original St. Michael the Archangel Church. I can see his eyes, eyebrows, nose, mouth, and his beard. The caretaker for 30-years never saw this image until today. I wanted to share this image to everyone in the world... God bless us all!
Definitely a must- visit sacred place. It was too crowded due to the Feast and the Jubilarian Year. Yep! Not May 8th but Sept 29th. Prepare to descend and return in stairs.
Beautiful place. There were too many tourists. I would have liked some quiet to pray, but a guide was giving a lecture to a group of tourists in the grotto. I think that was inappropriate. There should be no talking in that area.
I waited 45 minutes for them to leave and it was better when they had left. I feel there should be more respect in holy places. Definitely a good place to go. Not open early for prayer - opened at 8:30 a.m.
We participated in the procession through the town for the feast of Corpus Cristi.

The only small minus is the closing time for lunch break. I’ve visited many sanctuaries and monasteries and did a lot of pilgrimages and I’ve never seen something like that in a sacred place. Especially, as this is a destination is for pilgrims!!
Be sure to organize your trip accordingly and do not arrive during the break to ensure to have the time to visit the entire complex (museums also close for lunch break!!!)

Went here as part of the pilgrimate tour, to see the St. Padre Pio. It was a 5-hour drive from Rome.
The church was beautiful and there’s a museum upstairs where you can see how St Padre Pio lives in the church and the cross where he got his stigmata while he was praying. They also put some pictures to describe the life of St, Padre.
There’s a big and modern sanctuary behind the church with amazing architecture and where you can enjoy a very good view of the town from the hill. Under the sanctuary, you can see the body of St. Padre Pio upclose from behind the glass. People line up and pray here.
On top of the hill there is a big hospital that were build from the donation to the church.
If you are going with the tour bus, the bus will have to park at the bus parking and then we go with a shuttle bus to the church. They don’t allow the outside bus to stop in front of the church anymore.
We are talking about a Sanctuary City high on the hills of San Giovanni Rotondo where Padre Pio, the most important Saint of this century (XX) was born and lived to cure the poor.
He made a Hospital City very big and then people made a church then a Big Church then a Super Church (Architect Renzo Piano) with his name where thousands pilgrims visit the whole year
The new church is incredibly beautiful. Marvelous mosaics and a beatiful statue of San Pio.
But much more important than this: this church is full of grace. The energetic density is very high and can be sensed as soon as you enter the building. After two minutes inside I started to cry for no reason. This is Grace that makes the unconscious sorrow conscious. On a spiritual path this is called purification. During mass the energy level gets even higher.
So, walk inside, admire the mosaics and the statue, but know: the most valuable here is invisible! 🙏🙏

Montecassino is a truly magnificent place given its origins and its recent history when the Americans blew it to pieces barely leaving one stone on top of another. Its a must visit and its worth taking time to visit the Polish Cemetery where the 1000 men who were used as cannon fodder by the Americans are buried.
A truly beautiful and impressive place to visit. The Abbey of Montecassino has a long and extraordinary history.
Founded by St. Benedict in the 6th century, destroyed multiple times over the centuries, and rebuilt after being almost completely bombed during World War II.
Today it stands majestically on the hill with stunning views and elegant architecture.
The church, the cloisters, and the atmosphere make the visit absolutely worth it.

Must visit! By far the most spectacular views over the 16km length of beach Pescara has to offer! I didn’t manage to catch the sunset, however, still amazed with the beauty of the bridge! Next time I’ll go earlier and get the best of both views!
I recommend to visit this iconic spot before the sunset. It’s a wonderful place for a walk, to take photos, or simply enjoy the scenery. It is the largest bicycle-pedestrian bridge in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. The architecture is modern and impressive. The views from the top are truly beautiful. You can see both the sea and the city.

The part we sat in was mainly occupied by locals, which even made it more fun and exposed to the simplicity of life locals live.
There are a few cafes & restaurants here and there but with not many options and unfortunately dine in restaurants open only at a few designated hours.

🤔 Lake Scanno is surrounded by a series of mysteries and curiosities, which make this place even more suggestive. But beware not all stories are true.
💚 First of all, there is to dispel the myth that Lake Scanno has the shape of a heart. Actually that is not the case, but from some vantage points you can see it in that form. There is a path called "The Path of the Heart", after an hour of walk from the foot of the lake it will allow you to reach the most beautiful panoramic point of the lake where I am standing at.
⛪️ Along the way you will also meet the Hermitage of San't Egidio. Too bad that it was closed when I passed by.

OMG, one of the most beautiful locations in the Abruzzo, totally worth the visit! We parked our car halfway down, and hiked up the rocky trail leading up to Calascio, as I didn't want to drive our car up the narrow road. From the commune to the castle is not a hard hike at all, and they even have a bridge going to the castle up top. However, the rocky trail up to Calascio requires shoes with good tread/support, and hikers need to take their time going up and down, as it is very easy to slip on loose stones. Take a hiking stick if you can. We didn't slip, but witnessed several people slipping and sliding as they were coming down.

Breathtaking experience. 10/10 recommend if you are in Abruzzo! Moderate walk up the mountain. There are a few shops along the way up selling homemade jewelry and T-shirts. The view is incredible once you’re at the top.
Beautiful walk up, although it can be quite a strenuous hike, there is an easy path once you're close, but it's a long long way up (1300m+) Altitude.
Once you get to the castle though it's fantastic, beautiful views over surrounding villages and mountains, the castle itself is free to enter and has a viewing point at the top.
I really recommend you drive up and park at some of the small designated parking areas, about a 2k hike from there once parked.

Rocco Calascio is such a special place. The views are breathtaking and the walk to the site is fun but not too challenging. We went around sunset on a late spring eve and it was amazing. This moment will stay with me forever.
A day trip to Rocca Calascio followed by Campo Imperatore is easily manageable and absolutely worthwhile. I recommend heading up early on a weekday to avoid crowds, especially when visiting the castle. The main challenge is parking—spaces near the top are limited, and the narrow road can quickly become congested with two-way traffic. There is parking in the lower village, but be prepared for a steep uphill hike if you start from there.
From the upper parking area, the walk to the castle is relatively gentle with a couple of easy paths, though the final stretch is rocky. The panoramic views from the top are stunning, and several hiking trails extend out into the surrounding hills. Entry to the castle is free, though donations are appreciated.
Just below the castle, in the upper village, you’ll find a couple of small bars, cafés, and shops, along with a public toilet (50 cents, honesty box). Overall, it’s a fantastic outing—beautiful, atmospheric, and highly recommended.

A very beautiful garden.
However, it is only possible to see the garden on a tour, so you are always in a group, standing for long periods. I was not, personally, very interested in most of the information that was given (like the names of the people who lived in the mansion). The guide was clearly enthusiastic, and considered this to be the most beautiful garden in the world. It was lovely, but I didn’t ever manage to feel the atmosphere.
It was also incredibly hot. Try to visit at a better time than August! A few seats would have been lovely (and saved the guide from constantly telling people not to sit/lean on the walls).
Giardino di Ninfa is, without exaggeration, one of the cleanest, most well-kept, and breathtakingly beautiful gardens I’ve seen—by global standards. Every corner feels curated by nature and reverence. The water sources are truly magical to witness, like something out of a dream. Be sure to get your tickets in advance and opt for the guided tour—it’s a must-see experience that lingers in the soul.

I just saw a surprisingly low review where someone complained about the vegetation and that it is nothing special. And while that may be true, IT IS STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! My trip was several years ago but after this review I actually felt the need to chime in. I saw the garden in a TV documentary about gardening and was able to visit it years later. I find the entrance fee well worth it and I wish the tour had been longer or slower, giving me more time to take in the magic. It is so beautifully laid out between the ruins and the atmosphere is really special. And I am glad (and grateful to myself 😉) that I pre-booked two tickets so I could get in back to back. Once to take it all in and the second time to take pictures. And you know what? If I ever get the chance again to go there I will do the same. It is a wonderfully tranquil and peaceful place. Serene, really. And I can only thank the wonderful people who maintain it and am grateful that this beautiful piece of this world is open to the public.

May to July is probably the best time you can visit it. It also have a well explained history and there are also many ruins, flowers, fields and rivers letting it seem like a fairy tales world

Had a lovely day today. We were very pleasantly surprised. Good sized park, which was well maintained in most areas. Some slight attention to detail around weeding around some rides would improve this slightly but that is me just being picky.
Food prices were ok for a theme park. 5 of us ate for just under €70 which would be very difficult to do in a UK theme park and notably drinks were ok too, €3.50 for a coke zero and €2 for water.
The main reason for 4 out of 5 was due to a few rides being out of action. We wanted to go on the rapids and were told they would reopen but unfortunately didn't or if they did we missed it. Also the sky viewing platform ride was also shut.
We visited as two adults and really enjoyed the day. The park is very clean and beautifully maintained. There are a couple of really exciting attractions - especially Shock, which will definitely not leave you indifferent.
The water rides are also a lot of fun - particularly Le Rapide, the round raft ride that gives you absolutely no chance of staying dry. 😅 A perfect mix of thrills and fun, highly recommended!
I dont know why i seen so many complaints about this place saying it's expensive or staff are rude i experienced the opposite of that. They where all friendly and happy and compared to theme park prices this place was very very cheap no long waits in the lines longest wait was for the horror stuff beside that everything else was like 3mins wait or less 100% would recommend this especially for a family

However, the pricing is tricky. Online tickets are supposed to be cheaper, but we never received the validation code for registration, so we couldn’t complete the online purchase.
We were also charged extra items with the food we ordered, which didn’t feel fair.
Additionally, not all staff members spoke English, or not at a sufficient level, which made communication difficult at times.
I had an amazing time at Magic Land! The park is full of fun attractions, and everything is so well-organized. The highlight of my visit was the fantastic show at the theater—absolutely enchanting! The New Year decorations and compositions were stunning and really created a magical holiday atmosphere. This place is perfect for families and anyone looking for unforgettable entertainment. I visited last weekend 18th Oct and would recommend coming after October 23rd only because there’s no water running through the famous cascades and pools during this period. Even so, the villa and gardens remain impressive for their architecture, perspectives and atmosphere. If possible, plan your visit between 3 and 6:00 pm, the light is softer, perfect for photos and the crowds are noticeably smaller. Despite the absence of water, the site still offers a fascinating glimpse into Renaissance grandeur and is definitely worth seeing at least once.
Beautiful grounds. I would have given 5 stars but the water was shut off for maintenance or perhaps for the season when we went in October . I looked on line the night before visiting to see if it was posted on the website which it was not. You don’t get to capture the full beauty without the fountains. Beauty to see inside ! Fantastic villa and gardens - a peaceful oasis. We could only imagine what it must be like when the 200 fountains are functioning! Our misfortune to visit during a 2 week maintenance window... However, still worth wandering the paths, listening to birdsong and enjoying the gardens.
I am not sure how we found the villa as a destination for our Rome trip. Probably social media video somewhere. But boy we are so happy to spend a day here. We did not spent much in the museum part, but just walking up and down the garden, going to every fountain, taking pictures. Absoltely, breathtakingly beautiful. Must see. In late October when we were visiting, the Sun is setting along the main axis of the fountains, shining and orange glow over the park. Makes it difficult to take some photos, but help is many other way.
Make sure to purchase the audio guide from the ticket office. This villa was a wonderful experience. Make sure to give yourself a couple of hours for the gardens alone. I’m not a huge garden person when visiting estates or villas, but this was stunning and we wished we had more time to explore all the paths and fountains.
Extraordinary luxurious place which is well maintained and combed. Definetely worth to visit. Connections from Rome are good and cheap, traveling time around 1 hour.

Was a great site to see while on tour around the Eternal City. They recently cleaned the facade of the building so the stone is now clean and bright. Its usually very crowded for most of the day unless you come early in the morning. The guides were very nice and gave us a lot of cool information about the history of the Colosseum. Definitely a great place to see at least once while visiting Rome.
We had 8:45 tickets and arrived at 8:15. Once it opened at 8:30 the line moved very well. When buying tickets you have to purchase the additional museums or sites at that time you can't add them on, so be aware. We missed out on several areas because you can't add them to your ticket, and can't purchase them at the location. The Colosseum was not what I expected. I expected a big sand center, and it is not that. But it was interesting. The archeological site is spectacular. We spent 4.5 hours in total and if you had the additional sites it would easily be a full day. I ran out of energy at about the time we finished. Our plan is always go to the right, the right, the right, so that you don't go down a path that leads you away from other things. In this case it paid off because there was an area to the right where you follow a faux wood boardwalk and it takes you under a road and all the way to an incredible obelisk. Many of the sites we have been to have paper maps, and yes you can use your phone but a paper map would have been really helpful.

Our tour guide was called Valerio and he knew so much history, for any question you had he had an answer to. Highly recommend doing a tour. The Roman Colosseum is truly one of the world’s wonders , absolutely beautiful and completely spectacular to see in person. The amount of ancient history that took place there is incredible, and you can really feel it as you walk around. The lines can get pretty long, especially if you’re traveling with a group, but I was traveling solo and was able to slip through pretty quickly. Definitely recommend buying tickets ahead of time if you want to go inside. That said, it’s also really easy (and free!) to explore the outside, which is just as impressive. An unforgettable experience and a must-see when in Rome.

It's exactly what you would expect. Beautiful and historic. We went earlier in the morning. Walked right in before the crowds. Buy your tickets in advance as they do sell out. We did the arena floor tickets and were able to spend over the time inside as I wasn't too busy yet. This ticket also comes with the Palatine Hill area as well which is a huge site of historical buildings and a museum you can walk through. Well worth your time. Make sure you budget a few hours for this walk but it's definitely worth it to see.

An incredible site that’s packed not just with historical artefacts, but stunning views across the city, beautifully kept gardens and interesting objects and things to walk along.
The views are incredible and worth the entrance fee alone.
Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to climb hills and stairs, but it’s totally worth it.
It has nice views and many places to explore, but the signaling is not so good so it takes a while to understand if you’ve covered the whole area. There’s not much information either so maybe it’s better to go with a tour guide.

The Palatine Hill is believed to be the cradle of Rome, likely to have been inhabited since 1000 BC. During the Roman republican period, the upper class settled in this mountain building luxurious palaces, of which at present the ruins and remnants remain. We got our tickets through Expedia. Our tour guide was amazing! I recommend you to get your tickets in advance. This is a must-see in Rome. Come ready to walk!
A must-visit place if you find yourself in Rome. The sheer scope of architecture and Roman history on offer here is amazing. You could easily spend a day walking around the Palatine Hill reading about its history and marvelling at the remains of an ancient world power. The Truimphal Arch and Imperial Residences were very favourites.
The site to the Palatine Hill is included in the Collouseum ticket price. You need to set aside about 2 hours to explore the whole of Palatine Hill, as there is so much to see. The views from the top are breathtaking and are quite to visit in the afternoon with less crowds.

We went to the Roman forum around 10am to spend a few hours before our timed colosseum tickets. We entered at the top of a big hill so there was no wait. There are many entrances so I doubt anyone would have to wait too long. The space was so large and there were few maps so I kept worrying I was missing important things. It’s easy to get lost and forget what you’ve seen but after exploring for about 3 hours, the map on our way out showed we happened to do it all anyway! We skipped going into the museums inside just due to stamina, as you could be there ALL day and not see it all. There were many water ‘fountains’ around which was nice and bathrooms seemed easily accessible. Lots of cool things to see. We had the “full experience” ticket which I would recommend to anyone because within the forum there were several spots where only those with “full experience” tickets could access. I believe you can get tickets that allow access to one specific extra area but id skip the stress and get the full experience ticket. Less confusing that way as well. The photo with the large stair case was where we climbed up and entered not long after that.

It's a plaza surrounded by ancient ruins of official government buildings. It was the main marketplace. It's definitely worth visiting if you are seeing colosseum. I came to know about it when we booked our colosseum tour as a package. It's a fascinating place with full of history, but lacks maps and information board. Do allow few hours to walk as it's a massive place plus some places it's bit hilly. Near the exit there is a cafe which is a bonus point.

Formerly the center of public life in ancient Rome. I went here as part of my coliseum tour. Not as much grandeur of the coliseum, of course, but it was fascinating to walk through the old heart of the Eternal City, not to mention the ruins of Octavian/Augustus' palace.
It is quite a big area with a lot of ruins and nice statues. I think we can only enter the area once with the ticket; if we leave, we can't come back. Remember to watch the place where Caesar is buried.
Amazing to see. Could easily spend all day there. We entered by "Via dei Fori Imperiali" which was a lot quieter than the entrance by the colosseum. Toilets dotted around and we found 1 cafe by our entrance.

What a place! We bought the combined ticket with the Colosseo entrance. Visited the Colosseo at 9 am and by 10:15 we were at the Forum, thankfully, because when we left at around 1pm, the line was so big that it went around the other street.
The place is huge and you can easily get "lost"or not see some interesting parts. Tip: download some map so that you can undertand where you are at the moment. Very impressive and i left with my heart full!
This was the most amazing experience - we went with a tour guide so didn’t have to wait to get in, the queue was pretty long so would recommend - I would also recommend a tour so you actually get to know what is what - our guide was very Informative, but didn’t go on and on and make it boring - it was absolutely fascinating to learn the history and see what it used to be like from pictures she showed us and what is still present today.
Such a great time - would love to return and spend more time here as we only had about 1hr in here - you could easily spend 1/2 -1 day here depending on the level of your interest - highly recommend!

This place is majestic, phenomenal and unforgettable. Statues and size of the "Fontana di Trevi" is breathtaking and unexpectable.

The Trevi Fountain absolutely exceeded my expectations. Its sheer size and detail are breathtaking, especially with the sound of rushing water echoing around the square. I joined everyone in tossing a coin for luck, it’s impossible not to. Even with the crowds, the atmosphere feels magical and unmistakably Roman.
Yes, it's beautiful, but unfortunately the chaos surrounding this place makes it much less attractive. There's so many people (like almost everywhere), it's impossible to relax and enjoy this beauty. The experience is more like: quick, let's try to make a picture and leave. While in Rome I went there several times and during several periods of the day and it was always packed. I even check the webcams once at 2am and there were still people there!
Absolutely beautiful, and obviously VERY busy hot-spot for tourists! The only thing that ruins it is rude, entitled influencer/ tourists that block the visit/ view for everyone else, selfishly taking photos and selfies for over 20 minutes. However, this doesn't detract from the stunning monument and it's attraction for Rome! You can queue (average 1-1.5 hours) to get closer to the fountain if you have time.
The fountain is really beautiful. We came in the evening on a rainy day, and luckily there were not that many people. They seemed to allow people to get closer to the fountain in the lower floor every now and then. We didn’t wait for it since the view from the ground floor was already good enough.
A dream come true! We went during the day and returned at night to enjoy one of the most magnificent fountains in Rome! Wonderful family experience while touring Itay! This was one of the highlights we were looking forward to and superseded our expectations!

Marmore Falls, also known as Cascata dell Marmore, is a remarkable ancient sight consisting of three sections and standing as the tallest man-made waterfall in the world at an impressive 165 meters. So beautiful!! Unfortunately we came a bit late, at 15:30, 30 minutes before the falls are shut down for the day. It’s nice to stroll through the park regardless. But the park was closed entirely by 17:00, so I would advise to plan the visit time better than we did.

Absolutely breathtaking and worth the trip. There are paths that make it fairly easy to walk up to view the various falls (you will get wet!). The temperature drops ten degrees when you reach the parking lot, which is an incredible treat in summer. Be sure to stay to see the falls turn off at 1pm or back on again at 3. Plenty of parking. The bus terminal is a little tricky to find in Terni. It’s not the main Terni station but is around the corner to the left after you walk out the front entrance of the station. There’s a dedicated shuttle just for the falls, but pay attention to times, or you’ll end up needing a taxi to get back to Terni (speaking from experience!).

The tallest artificial watetfall in the world! A beautiful, unconventional place – created by human intervention, yet so natural. It's worth devoting more time to exploring and hiking the entire trail, rather than just admiring the views from the upper terrace.

I just love walking downhill to this cathedral and how it becomes bigger with every step closer. Even outside decor is to admire. Loved to sit in the shade on cold stone on a hot day in front of it. Interier is white and frescoes above the main altar are dedicated to Mary. Just sit and admire. There are different style side chapels, in one you get a glimpse of even earlier, older church, its walls still standing and some very old frescoes on them.

The square embellished by the cathedral facade is simply mesmerizing ! The center point of Spoleto with Pinturicchio and Filippino Lippi frescoes nested in a late romanic architecture with a 15th century colonnade that add to its gravitas. Spectaculat, imposing, magnificent !
There are two audio guides available. The first audio guide has one headphone set and is immediately visible upon the right hand side after entry into the church.
The second audio guide is at the rear of the building on the left hand side and it has two headphone sets. There are multiple languages to choose from. Cost is €2 for six or so theee to five minute discussion guides on versions aspects of the church, its history and people.
Highly recommend listening to the guide. A lot of information condensed into a short time frame. Of particular interest was the geopolitics and the historical involvement with the Medicis.
Bring €0.50 to pay for the lights at various sections of the church. It will not accept smaller cents or €1 or €2. If you do not have €0.50, the cashier in the bookstore will gladly make you change.
Here there is a letter from St Francis to St Leo which is on the left hand side of the church in an obscure corner of the back room which requires €0.50 to brighten the room. In this room is also a skull and legno painted Sybil’s and saints.
Another highlight is Papa Giovanni Paolo in the right back corner which again can be more visible with the 0.50.
Bookstore lacks statues of the holy family and saints, holy water, and religious relics which are available at most other churches throughout Italy. This was disappointing.
I visit many churches and collect onomasticos for my family and friends. I was hoping to get the baby Michele and raffe for my cousins grandchildren at this visit.
I like to think a lady can never own too many shoes, dresses or holy relics.
I left this cathedral without spending the money which I normally spend in a church but I will gladly give my money to another church in the area.
Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful Cathedral. So very interesting. The painting by Filippino Lippi, is of course stunning. It draws you in the more you look.
The atmosphere is very tranquil.
We went up the 147 (I think ) steps to the bell tower, it was worth the climb to see the view.
Like all the big churches in Italy, you will be amazed at the art work throughout the building.
This cathedral with a square in front can be reached by going up an elevators set up, not far from a parking lot in Spoleto outskirts. Like many churches across Italy, this is a splendid Romanesque building very much worth a visit not only for prayer and worship. Inside there are magnificent works of art with various paintings, including frescoes by Pinturicchio, mosaics and more.

So special to experience these beautiful churches - up and down! We got to enjoy an English mass at 9am on Sunday. Touring with Rick Steeves podcast in our ear was great (also the town walk is so good). Loved the museum in the back.
The highlight of course was the crypt, to spend some time in the presence of St Francis. Well- we know his presence is with us in Christ, but so cool to see his tomb.
The Giotto frescoes are amazing and the ceilings- wow, that blue- I love it.
Lovely Medieval town - Assisi - famous for St Francis' Basilica, which we visited. Also had a lovely cappuccino but didn't stay for lunch. Escalators available to get you into the higher parts of town from all the car parks so no worries for older and less mobile visitors.
A must-see if in Umbria
Today's highlight. You don't want to miss this place when in Assisi. Prepare for a walk uphill and downhill. Travel light but bring some coins or bills for the offering and candles. There's plenty of good restaurants and giftshop in the area. Walking distance to visit the tombs of St. Clare and Saint Carlo Acutis.🙏🙏🙏
What an amazing experience to be able to come on a pilgrimage here. The church is very beautiful and full of meaning.
There is a tomb of St. Francis of Assisi under this church. There is also a museum, and a souvenir shop.
Don’t forget when you enter, there is a prayer paper that we can take and write, so that later we can bring it to the tomb area of St. Francis, and we give to the brothers here to pray.
Then don’t forget after shopping at the souvenir shop, bring it to the blessing section near the exit.
We visited here as part of a tour group, it has amazing art work throughout, its just a shame you can not take photos of your visit.
It is a very large complex and will stun you by its size, it gets busy and has some stairways that are narrow.
Another beautiful and amazing church in Italy, the Papal Basilica and Sacred Convent of Saint Francis in Assisi. We can visit the tomb, the mortal remaining of St Francis of Assisi, which was preserved since 1230. Also, this church is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. there are two distinct churches: the Upper and Lower Basilicas. Visitors can explore intricate chapels adorned with remarkable artwork while learning about the rich history through audio guides.
A beautiful building with breathtaking murals inside. Photos are not permitted inside but it is well worth visiting. The murals are floor to ceiling and it's also a pleasant place to spend an hour out of the heat just admiring the works. ⛪

Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli is a vast 16th-century church located about 4km beneath Assisi. It houses the Porziuncola chapel, where St Francis started the Franciscan movement. The nearby Cappella del Transito marks the site of St Francis's death. The basilica also features Michelangelo's Cloister, which displays over 400 works of art including sculptures and reliefs.
Very beautiful and inspiring. The exterior is undergoing renovations, but interior restorations had recently been completed, and the results are stunning. No photographs are allowed inside, so put away the phone and soak in the art and architecture. Catholics will want to stop into the small shrine dedicated to St. Francis (it marks where he died). Also do not miss the beautiful adoration chapel off to the left of the central altar. Reverent and serene.

We attended the procession at night. Arrive early for the rosary and have time to pick up a candle. It was packed inside the church. It was a nice, moving experience when in the area. The church is currently undergoing some renovations.
What a beautiful church. Most special because of the portinocula - St Francis’ special little church. Incredible works of art- especially one of Francis receiving the stigmata. They also have confession booths with multiple languages, with very caring and open priests ready to hear and help you draw close to God.
Francis’ place of death and his rose garden as well.

A great gift shop. I wish I had bought more Tau necklaces while I was there to give to others.

A Cathedral with impressive art on walls and ceiling. Well it was not allowed to take pictures but I've done one.
A very nice basilica in Assisi, probably often overlooked because people flock up to the hilltop to the town and the more famous basilica and other attractions. This is on the other side of the main train station of Assisi. It’s actually walkable distance from the train station. There is a nice museum, rose garden and gift shop in side as well. The piazza Della Porziuncola in front of the basilica is quite large and nice to walk around and take in the beauty of this place.
Beautiful Basilca where inside there is the Little Church that St Francis Of Assisi had renovated when he mistakenly got the message from The Cross wrong as he thought he had to rebuild the small Church but realised God meant the World Church .

Attended Mass here on Sunday, with a good amount of pilgrims. Large inside, under renovations now even the Porziuncola. It’s a very special place to visit where St Francis prayed with his followers & passed away.
