The only good thing is the location. No service whatsoever. No help around. Steep stair. No elevator. Nobody to help. Small rooms. Run down. Shouldn’t be a hotel. Certainly not a palace …

The man working at the reception for the guided tour was very rude. I asked for a ticket in Spanish and he told me the English tour just finished. I said it’s ok I’m learning Spanish. He laughed at me and told me I need to do more learning. There was no need for that level of rudeness.

Palacio del Virrey Laserna is one of my favourite places to take visitors to. I've probably been there 4 or 5 times and all the people I've taken there have enjoyed it. It's a chance to hear the history of a beautiful house from a first hand perspective which brings it all to life. You'll hear about pieces of beautiful furniture and artworks by well known artists and how they came to be in their family's possession and you'll see family photos and hear anecdotes about life in the house. The gardens are a lovely surprise too.

We stayed for one night. The castle looks very old and very romantic. It's located in the central part of the city near a parking, which is a great convenience. They welcomed us very kindly and expeditiously. There is a courtyard with a large charming garden with a swimming pool where you can enjoy some peace and quiet. The furnishings in the guest house are dated but well maintained and clean. There are artworks all over the walls. We were very pleasantly surprised by the compliments in the room - coffee, biscuits, cupcakes and nuts. The bed was super comfortable, which is a big plus. We didn't do the tour of the building due to lack of time, so I can't recommend it.

We had to go and find a cash machine as they only took cash. We left the pushchair in the lobby, as understandably we couldn't take it through the house. There are some stairs to navigate from the garden back into the house. In each room, items of interest were pointed out. Our tour guide was the son of the family, who still lives in the house. Would be great to stay in the house and amuse the pool in the garden.

Place is falling apart, but is neat to see. I paid extra for a nice room, but they ended up putting me in a cheaper room and didn't refund the difference of $42.

High quality sherries from the Cathedral of fortified wines. I like the way the tour is structured, walking from one sherry style area to the next and tasting each in turn. Very informative guide and plenty to taste going from dry to sweet styles. Also a Vernouth at the end. The Bodega itself is spectacular inside with it's arches and high ceilings and a long history to match it's very good produce. Would definitely recommend this if your looking for a special experience. Parking is on the street outside, about 1.20 euro for 90 minutes.

5 stars for the storage buildings' structure (catedrales, the name of the visit!) 4 star for the jerez wines quality (excelent amontillado, fino and vermouth, not so good manzanilla), 2 stars for the visit structure and guide's (Isabel) availability: 6 wines' tasting in 1 hour is too much, we did not have the chance to see the labels of the bottles we tasted, the sweet wine was not even presented, no time for questions as we had to rush through the tour...typical of a large producer, unfortunately! As WSET 3 graduate, I have visited wineries in many countries and this one was well below standard. Pity because they have a nice, historic bodega, the tour should be a pleasure, not a rush to reach the end...maybe reduce the number of wines or increase the time. People will be more encouraged to do what visits should be for: acquire new brand's ambassadors!

We took today's 3pm tour with Isabelle, who was outstanding ! We were fortunate in being a small group of 8, so there was lots of scope for questions & interaction. We've loved sherry & Manzanilla for years, but still learnt a great deal. It is an amazing collection of buildings, & the perfect retreat from the heat! My only regret is we are flying with just carry-on so couldn't take advantage of the 10% discount in the shop.

Had a very interesting tour from Isabella in this place. The tour felt kind of scripted, a few questions outside the script were sidestepped or ignored. In the shop afterward we bought a few bottles but weren't able to try the red vermouth before buying it (with a simple "tasting is finished") so we didn't

Excellent early morning tour in English.Tasting and history all before 11:00. Carmen explained everything very clearly and was very interactive with questions and answers. A great insight into the age old sherry business. Thoroughly recommend this tour.

Pier has seen better days but it is a great little traditional beach. Nice for family's and news agents near by for drinks. Sand isn't the dreamy white stuff you see in pictures and almost feels a bit British.

Cádiz, La Caleta is a beach located in the historical center of the city of Cádiz. It is a natural harbor by which Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans penetrated historically. main attraction is its location, a scene that has inspired musicians and poets like: Isaac Albéniz, José Maria Pemán, Paco Alba, and Carlos Cano. It has been pictured in several films, such as 007: Die Another Day, Alatriste, and Manolete.

Not sure how typical it is there, but during our 2 days in Cadiz, water in La Caleta was very turbid (likely due to heavy rain in Andalucia couple days before our arrival). Also loads of seaweed😬 You find much better conditions on the south side of the walkway to the fortress. It has access to open Atlantic and water there is much clearer, but swimming conditions are harder due to higher waves. If you just want to play on the sand - it's a place for you, although we visited pre season and I can see it getting very crowded. Big parkings are available nearby, but be prepared for them to be full or if you get lucky, to dig deep into your pockets - 15€/day seems to be cheap in Cadiz😬

Marta was a great tour guide. She explained everything to our group and had a playful sense of humor. The views of Cadiz and beyond were amazing. The staircase is a workout but the views are well worth it.

We booked an English tour online. You reserve your place and pay on the day. The camera obscura was better than expected and the views from the top were excellent. Little museum rooms en route were interesting too.

Not a whole lot to see here, better views from the cathedral tower for the same price. Overall it’s a good place to learn about the different towers and their history an usage within the city. Camera obscura is neat.

Nice cathedral in colonial style. The entry ticket costs 10€, a bit expensive but I recommend to visit inside. Outside there are many restaurants, i consider them more touristic places and I suggest to just walk few meters and you can find more choices and less touristic.

Decided to walk from the Port and found myself at the wonderful Catedral de Cádiz. 10 euros to enter or $11.80 US dollars which includes the Catedral and the conservatory. I paid at the entry and after a little conversation the receptionist gave me an audio guide in English. I stopped at each station and listened and admired the historical record. The Catedral was a unique and interesting place. I ventured to the conservatory after making a small purchase of a magnet for my daughter. Be mindful the ramp/walkway is not easy but worth every step. The view from the top is mesmerizing. I was blessed to catch it at sunset. You can see God in every aspect of His earth and creation. I stood in awe at this picture which will remain in my minds eye forever.

Very recommended. Do not miss it:) Beautiful cathedral with interesting architecture and history. It has a large grotto ( including a mummy of a maiden in incredibly good condition!). The entry includes headphones tour guide, entry to the church tower where you can take a panoramic look at the city from above, the tower is relatively easy to climb as it hardly has any stairs! The ticket price also covers the museum (a bit away from the cathedral but closes at 16:00!) On the square before the cathedral there are a couple of coffee-bars and an ice cream shop which are open daytime (unlike the restaurants which open mostly later than 20:00) and a rooftop bar which opens only in the evening. The drinks and food prices are normal and very convenient for a main square shop - unlike most European cities:) I got my entry ticket on the spot but it can also be purchased online in advance.

Cádiz Cathedral is a very impressive and monumental building, uniquely placed so close to the sea and is beautiful both inside and out. The views of the city from the bell tower are spectacular and the crypt is not to be missed. The first time we were there the Christmas Crib was still in place and it was stunning. My favourite part are the two angles on both sides. Lots of good artwork and the silver on display is amazing.

While on RCCL Explorer OTS Transatlantic West 2025 we stopped at Cadiz. It was an easy and fun port for sightseeing and walking. It you like old architecture and history the Cathedral is a must visit. There is also a Jesuit church nearby that is 0 KM of the El Camino de Santiago route from the southwest of Spain. Lots of history to explore. We enjoyed the musicians that performed in front of the cathedral.

We stopped in Cadiz while on a long cruise from Lisbon. We spent the day walking around the old city center just exploring. Lots to see here. Today was marathon day in Cadiz so every place we went was very crowded. The cathedral is beautiful on the outside. Unfortunately we were unable to enter the church due to the marathon and crowds. We sat at a cafe in front of the cathedral and just enjoyed all the happenings.

The Catedral de Cádiz is absolutely stunning! The architecture is breathtaking, especially the golden dome shining under the sun. I climbed up to the tower, and the view of the city and the sea was incredible — definitely worth it! Must visit in Cádiz Entrance fee is €10

Great room, lovely hotel and nice beaches in the surrounding area. Two downsides: Firstly, the wifi was absolutely terrible, and at some points just didn't seem to exist. Second was that we had to wait 1.5 hours after check in to get our room, and even though they very kindly gave us a complementary drink, none of the staff apologised or said sorry at any point (maybe I'm just very English in this situation). But ignoring that, this place is magical!

Unfortunately, our stay at Hotel Playa Victoria in Cádiz did not meet our expectations. The value for money was simply not justified. The rooms are outdated and in need of renovation. One of the major issues was the shower – the water was scalding hot and impossible to regulate, even after contacting the reception. No solution was offered, which made the stay uncomfortable. The hotel advertises a beachfront location, but there is no direct access to the beach. While the pool temperature was pleasant, there were far too few sun loungers available, making it difficult to relax. The only positives were the location and the friendly check-in experience with Nacho at the reception. Beyond that, the hotel falls short in many areas and we would not choose to stay here again.

*Edited due to managers response with attached photo of confirmed sea front reservations from booking.com which was not given to me until I insisted and had to send screenshots of reservation. Continuous accusations of false claims is tiring.* Noelia, Alvaro were terrible for check in and check out. Alvaro was not helpful and although my mom needed accessibility, he told me it wasn’t possible. This was after the issue of trying to give me partial ocean view when I paid for ocean front. After about an hour of back and forth, they “found” an accessible shower room. During check out, we were told we didn’t pay for parking when in fact we did. Noelia who is front desk and service oriented insisted it wasn’t paid even with proof of payment because Alvaro did not provide ticket or any other service... Overall the hotel needs work. During our stay, we were not informed of beach towels, buffet lunches, parking or additional information that would help our stay. Do better, treat people kinder and elevate your service consistency.

This is a long stretch of golden sand at the modern end of Cadiz. There are walkways along it at various intervals with beach bars and toilet facilities. On the other side of the promenade you will find a vast array of hotels, apartments and eating and drinking establishments to suit all palates.

Hotel from the 90s and it shows. Big room great bed. Noisy city side but ok with closing the Windows. 3 star hotel in my opinion. Nice personnel.

Unfortunately, our stay at Hotel Victoria Playa Cádiz was far from what we expected. The room smelled strongly of sewage, and the shower only produced scalding hot water – no way to cool it down. I ended up using the pool shower instead, which barely worked either. The wallpaper in the room was peeling off in several places, and at the pool, it was a daily fight to get a sunbed – mine was broken, adding to the frustration. Access to the beach is only possible through a makeshift path via an emergency exit, which felt anything but relaxing. For the price we paid, this hotel is simply outrageous. Positive: The staff were friendly and the location is quite good. But that’s about all I can say on the plus side.

PROS: The staff are very polite and helpful. The location is good, on the beach and near most amenities and selection of bars and restaurants. Although the quality of food generally is not very good. It’s a very touristy place. The breakfast at the hotel is good, but some items like pancakes you could only get if you eat before 9am and the “hot food” is more lukewarm or cold that hot. CONS:. At €330 a night for bed and breakfast you may expect some luxury but unfortunately you will not get any. The rooms are small and very dated and lack very basic facilities such as tea/coffee machines, slippers and ropes that usually you get in 4/5 star hotels. Our room had sea views and that part was nice, but there was a smell of damp and sweat as soon as we walked in which would not go away no matter how much we aired the room. We could not even get WiFi in our room. The hotel said they had problems with their provider. The hotel was full so we could not get another room and as we had prepaid, refund was not available either to go somewhere else. The pool is very small and kids and adults are jumping into it all the time so forget about a peaceful swim or sitting by the pool. There are only around 20 or so sunbeds available. Nowhere near enough for the demand. To hire a sunbed on the beach is €22 for 2 beds which is around €10 more than average and can get very expensive if you want to sit on the beach every day. The hotel car park is also expensive at €23 per day and in high season it is almost always full. There are nearby parkings around €17/€18 per day, but they’re also often full and some are so tight that you cannot even get out of the car. Basically, avoid Cádiz in summer months as it’s very crowded and everything is overpriced including the hotels!

This was our third visit to Arcos de la Frontera and the first time the church was open and it did not disappoint with lots of beautiful artwork and a beautiful alter. Admission was just €2. This is a late Gothic hall-church, with three naves of equal height and a monumental curved apse. The naves are separated by circular pillars made of beamed rods, supporting complex star-ribbed vaults. Although everything inside is worthy of admiration, it is worth noting the Retablo Mayor, an altarpiece which is a true Renaissance jewel; the Gothic mural painting; the uncorrupted mummy of San Felix; the Nieves chapel which houses the image of the patron of Arcos; the extravagant organ and the choir, considered one of the best in Andalusia.

This basilica is a beautiful display of how rich this region used to be during the 14 - 17th century. Almost everything here is made of gold. And the scale of the carvings and central display is huge. Additionally, the viewing tower is a definite must to see and hear. There are many bells on the top that sing every hour. And the views of the area can be captured here on the tower. Overall, this is a must visit when in Arcos.

You can't come to Arcod de la Frontera without going up the tower of this church! Amazing views and the church itself is a delight.

Impressive church from out and inn. And the church bell tower is worth special attention. It is worth to climb 100 steps for breathtaking views of the town and surroundings. One of the best tower views you can find in Spain!

Beautiful basilica on top of the hill! Beautiful small white hill town of Arcos 1hr fr Seville. Love the hill town, the food (payoya cheese and conejo) and the scenery ( Parador, Basilica, white houses view of the Guadalete river)

This largely Gothic styled church was built around the 15th century. It sits atop the limestone cliffs of Arcos on Plaza del Cabildo - a square which is essentially a carpark and also the location of the Parador de Turismo. You'll be rewarded with some great views overlooking the countryside from the mirador or visit the bar in the Parador for an even better view and a refreshing drink after the steep climb to get here. If you're mobility restricted there is a small car park here and also taxis (probably the best option as the street are very narrow in places).

The beach is really nice, there is some places to enjoy a drink or explore local food but the most interesting is the white sand and the blue water, I really enjoyed my time there and I will come back.

By far the best beach we visited near Cádiz! The sea was a bit wavy but so much fun to swim in. The water temperature was just perfect – not too cold, not too warm. The coastline is long and peaceful, with a really relaxing vibe

The most wonderful beach, especially for children as it slopes so gently. It is quite windy so lots of waves but i seriously suggest long hair is tied back or it will be stuck to your sun lotioned face and lip balm. Glorious sunsets here too. We went in October, the sea was warm and the beach almost deserted. Perfect. Excellent free parking and small play areas dotted about.

Cape Trafalgar, battle of Trafalgar! Beautiful site with a good view of the Coast. There are paths around the lighthouse and beaches surrounding it. But if you come here to read historical info signs about the battle, there are none. (Spain and France lost this one 🙄). But its still worth a visit.

We didn't know how steeped in history this place is. Indeed the trafalgar-square in London got its name from this place, where Englands ships beated French and Spanish Ships crushingly. Since then England was the one sea power for over a hundred years. It's nice to look at sunsets and moonrises as well ;-)

Wild, windswept & very nice, but be prepared for a trek from the car park! Another great beach where nudity is prevalent, however there are better beaches in this area.

I rather enjoyed our time here. You get to see some horse dressage (similar to the start of the show at the royal riding school show in Jerez, but I thought it was done better here. Clearly he had done his time at the school). The cattle, both the bulls and the oxen were of moderate interest. The best part of was the tour of the small museum where Isabella shared some of the details of bulls and bull fighting, along with her clear pride of her family’s heritage.

Truly a remarkable experience. Everyone should go.

Very nice place and very nice people there

Very interesting show and beautiful horse dressage’s. They explained it in all types of languages. I would of liked to see the biggest bull, but they probably weren’t available.

We enjoyed the kind hospitality offered by A Campo Abierto staff throughout the duration of our visit to the ranch. We were greeted by Patricia, a member of the Donec family who was extremely helpful and informative throughout the visit. Patricia provided a comprehensive commentary in fluent English and addressed our questions in full. An arena was used to demonstrate dressage skills followed by viewings of cows, calves and four year old fighting bulls. We learnt so much about the people, livestock and the natural environment. Being from a farming background we appreciated the stockmanship and care necessary to breed the cattle and horses. The demonstrations and visit to the museum enhanced our understanding of the role of bullfighting within Andalusian culture. The visit has inspired us to further explore Andalusian culture during our next visit to Spain. We thoroughly enjoyed this spectacular visit which concluded with a welcome sampling of A Campo Abierto sherry. Thanks to all the staff at the ranch, but especially to Patricia who is a very competent, knowledgeable tour guide and affable host. John & Roberta.

A fantastic, friendly working Bull and horse ranch that how and explains the breeding process of the bulls and horses, thy then show how the animals are brought in from wild and herded into the arena with great skill and care, you can then meet the riders and horses

Driving the coastal route from Málaga to Cádiz, Baelo Claudia provided a fascinating insight into the methods the Romans used for preserving fish, fishing for tuna, and producing ‘garum’ - a fish sauce delicacy. Managing to survive an earthquake and pirate raids, it stands as one of Spain’s most complete Roman towns. Efficient, clean set-up – well worth stopping off for.

Prepare yourself with information before visiting this place. It is a very powerful historical site, and if you are filled with knowledge of what happened there, you will gain unforgettable impressions and emotions from being there. It is very important to preserve such relics in order to have the opportunity to touch ancient history.

Lots to see, very well laid out. Interesting site thats right on the beach too.. Wrnt on a Sunday so the Museum was closed but could get access to the remainder of the site.

History is for me very important and can not leave without it. It’s everyone’s present and we need to embrace it. Baelo Claudia site is small and well kept. The government of Spain really does beautiful work to keep their heritage, weather is Roman, or Muslim heritage. Baelo Claudia was an ancient Roman town in Hispania, located 22 kilometres (14 mi) outside of Tarifa, near the village of Bolonia, in southern Spain. Situated on the shore of the Strait of Gibraltar, the town began as a fishing village and trading hub when it was settled approximately 2,000 years ago. Although a prosperous town at the time of Emperor Claudius, it went into a decline partially fueled by earthquakes and was abandoned by the 6th century

Truly a hidden gem in this part of Spain! We visited in the winter and it was so beautifully quiet despite the gorgeous sunny weather. Super cheap entry (particularly if you are an EU resident) and lots to look at and explore- just incredible to see the ruins of an old theatre and to picture what this place looked like so long ago. The museum is small but exquisitely curated, we learnt a lot and would love to come back to wander around again! So stunning right by the ocean, with all the lovely olive trees. There are places to have a picnic too, which I think is just so charming. Definitely recommend this place!

Nice location next to the beach. It’s free to visit for EU citizens. We came at 14:30 and we were constantly reminded by the staff that they were closing in 30.min (15:00)and we had to be “Rapido” 😅 A bit annoying but we still managed to hurry up and see the outside ruins. So be aware of the opening hours beforehand. There is a free parking outside the museum entrance. Worth the visit if you are passing by.

Lovely scenery, horses, people and general vibe. Relaxed and special. Been riding here since 2010. Enjoyed it every time. It you really want a horse's saddle view of the mountains, and plains, vultures and farms, down to the sea, you will not be disappointed.

We had a great experience with Jo and her amazing horses. Communication was good and Jo guided us to the stables well. She listened to our experiences of riding and matched us well with her horses. The trek had stunning views in the mountains and we stopped to take a lovely photo! Will definitely return when back in Casares Thank you to Jo and her team ❤️

We (2 adults, 2 teenagers) had an excellent trail ride with Jo and her horses. We were well matched to the horses and got riding tips. The countryside is beautiful, our route had fabulous views. The horses are well cared for and enjoy their work. Jo and her team were friendly and helpful in every aspect. Comfortable helmets are provided, the horses’ bridles and saddles are in good condition for safe riding. It’s an easy and pretty drive from Estepona. Highly recommended.

We had the best time riding with Jo! (A family ranging from 40 to 13) Jo matched everyone up to a horse based on experience and explained to each one of us the horses personalities so we could all have a comfortable ride. It's so lovely to see someone who has so much love and care for horses. The ride is full of beautiful views and a photo opportunity. I highly recommend even if you have no experience!! An experience you will not forget!

My friends and I did enjoy the rides last Saturday. It was an awesome rides for us a beginners. Jo is very helpful also, she even help us to get transfer going back to Estepona. Horses are very well trained, my friend feel nervous since it was her first time and after few minutes at the saddle, it goes away. We truly had fun and definitely recommended it with our friends in Gibraltar. Lastly, we even see Gibraltar rock along the trail.

My favorite place to go horse riding! I have been riding with Jo for the past 10 years, and I still come back every time I am in the area! I love going on both fast rides with experienced riders and on more relaxed rides with people without any experience. The horses are well taken care of and all have their own unique personalities which Jo expertly matches to each rider. I have taken countless family members and friends over the years and they love riding here as much as I do! The views and nature during the rides are amazing. Cannot recommend this place enough for both people with and without experience!

Only visit if you pratice some kind of wind surf. Also there's poop in the beach from horses and dogs. Nevertheless, is really beautifull.

A wide, spacious beach on the ocean in Tarifa, but if you want a calm and sheltered spot, it’s best to visit Carbones 13. Besides great cocktails, they’ll serve you delicious food. There are also sunbeds available.

Stunning white clean sand and stretches on for miles. Loads of kite surfers (so not ideal if you don’t like wind)

Endless stretch of sand full of Water Sports fanatics - mind all the bloody ropes/strings/kites /equipment laying around on the sand 🙄 - about two miles walkable dunes swept by wind and salty water. As for the wind, it blows so hard that you can't even have a conversation 😁 It's not an easy task but the shore is amazingly clean and the light blinding white, the water is green and blue and grey and has no end. There's a very crowded Bar, the only one in the whole beach so expect crazy prices but the views are unbelievable. Bring litres of Sun Protection, the sun is very unforgiving and there is no shelter of any shape or form.

Cap Spartel is a must-visit spot just outside Tangier. The views are breathtaking, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. The lighthouse adds a historic charm, and the surrounding gardens are peaceful and well kept. 💡 Tip: Best time to visit is late afternoon to enjoy the sunset. Bring some water or snacks if you don’t plan to eat at the café.

Beautiful! 🤩 Excellent panoramic views from the top of the lighthouse where you can see the joining of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea! Entry fee to get in to the lighthouse, museum, and garden, though the gardens were unfortunately closed while we were visiting. It’s a beautiful 4 km/2.5 mile walk/drive/bike ride between here and Hercules Cave. For those without a car, In Drive app is probably your best bet for visiting from Tangier. If you are friendly with the driver they might even bring you back for a good price and give you some history on the area.

If it’s part of your tour or along your route, it’s worth a quick stop. The cave itself is beautiful, especially the view where the water flows through the opening—quite a unique sight. While the surrounding area is largely developed for tourism, it can still be enjoyable, especially for families. The flat terrain and minimal stairs make it very kid-friendly and easy to explore. Great for a short, scenic break and to pick up some souvenirs. Must visit this place

One of the most hyped up tourist spots in Tangier. it's a small space with minimal information, so do some reading before you go. It's overpriced for what is offered. We paid 80drh each (roughly £7.50-£8) for a quick 10 mins inside. there is another small section (i think it was called a gallery) for a separate cost In all honesty the cave is not big, There was a barrier blocking some of it so i don't know if that part is ever opened up to the public. the hype is mainly for the opening in the rocks where you can see the sea and rock formation is the shape of Africa. Everything i read online about a path etc, I did not see. If part of the cave was closed, they should have charged less. As a local citizen you can get the ticket for 30 dirham. Not really impressed with a cost that can't be justified

The history of this cave given by our guide was fascinating. I was surprised how large the cave was and how clean and well preserved it was as well. A very interesting and worthwhile visit.

A great sight to see. The lighting makes it seem otherworldly when you first walk in. If you've never been I would go at least once to see the water flow and be in awe of the natural formation.

Worth visiting. For 30-40 DH you can visit the contemporary museum as well as the Kasbah and it’s gardens. Garden is a little gem in the city centre.

Beautiful historic place, well presented chronologically. The garden is pleasant with many plants, however, signs with the plant and tree names would have been useful, it's a shame there weren't any. Visited in early Sept and there was no café nor shop to be seen.

Worth the visit. It takes 30min to see but you can spend more time. The gardens are beautiful and they have good pieces of different history periods. Unfortunately it’s only in French and Arabic, we would strongly encourage them to add English. I would go back if so to be able to understand everything. The ticket was 30 dirhams each. The staff was very kind and flexible to let us visit everything even though they were closing

Very beautiful, good historical background, very well-organized, and you can enter both museums (Kasbah and Contemporary) with the same ticket.

This was a concise museum in a nice old palace. Admission fee was reasonable 50 dirhams. Nice artifacts from the region. I’d have liked a little more explanation of the groupings and the exhibit focus. Staff was helpful but did not speak much English or Spanish.

The staff were friendly and nice. Location was ok – in the centre of medina. Room description: dark, ugly, with a smelly bathroom which looks like a prison. The bed was too soft, I had a back pain after sleeping on it. If you don’t care about this and your main purpose is to save some money on accommodation – book it. Maybe you can handle 1-2 nights. Small breakfast in the terrace with a view included.

The hotel was a traditional Hotel. The rooms was ok , clean and warm. The only problem was the outside toilet. Difficult through the night or for shower.. The hotel was in the centre of the old town Medina. For me too much traffic and noise but i didn't know about the life rhythms in the old town. The breakfast was basic but the choices of bread really good ! The staff was really very kind and helpful ! Was a nice stay in a good price.

Good location, kind and attentive staff, good and plentiful breakfast on the terrace. Rooms are okay - clean and affordable. Only issue really was we were in the room adjacent to the lobby and the first floor above the Medina alley, so it was quite noisy.

The rooms are just average. If you are a light sleeper. The doors are thin. Could hear everything outside the room. I did not sleep properly. The staff is amazing. Kindest people.

If you want an authentic, spotlessly clean hotel in a prime location 👌 the Tanger Medina is perfect for you. Nothing is too much trouble for the amazing staff. They are so special and kind. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace. It will take your breath away. Soothing background music and delicious fresh food and spectacular views of the Casbah and to the harbour. We are hoping to return one day 🙏 Right in the heart of the medina and the atmosphere is pure Tangiers.

Nice long street in the centre of Gibraltar. Has a good selection of shops but many are owned by the same company so for example, jewellery shops and perfume shops sell much of the same thing. Have small Next & Marks & Spencers but with limited items. Was nice to spend a day there. Probably good for people from cruise ships.

We love this place it’s like visiting a little tropical Britain, It’s a great place to look around with plenty to see & do,there are lots of lovely shops & restaurants,the first thing my Mrs wanted to do was visit Marks & Spencer’s a well known British store...we had a lovely time there would love to go back again & do a bit more exploring...The Gibrartairians are a lovey friendly lot & make you feel very welcome....💕 👍

Visiting the Rock of Gibraltar was such a memorable experience. The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking — unfortunately it was a bit foggy on the day we were visiting the Rock. The famous monkeys are definitely the stars of the show. They’re playful, curious, and not afraid to get close (so hold on to your snacks!). The hike to the top is amazing — you pass so many interesting spots along the way and the scenery just keeps getting better the higher you go. It’s a perfect mix of nature, history, and adventure.

Best Way to Enjoy It (SAVE MONEY! AVOID CABLE CAR!) This is the best and cheapest way to do it! First things first — avoid the cable car! It’s expensive and you’ll miss out on the full adventure. Instead, start your journey from the Union Jack Steps / Straits and walk up. The route is scenic and full of incredible viewpoints. When you reach the first main point called Devil’s Gap, you’ll find the Nature Reserve entrance. Here you only need to buy one ticket for around £30 & THAT’S ALL YOU HAVE TO PAY! Don’t waste extra money elsewhere! That single ticket includes access to all the top attractions: • The Suspension Bridge • The St. Michael’s Cave (absolutely breathtaking — don’t miss it!) • The Skywalk • And several other amazing viewpoints along the way You can walk in a circular route around the Rock, which takes about 3–4 hours, or take a shorter 1–2 hour route straight to the top, there are multiple paths, so you can choose based on your time and energy. And yes, you’ll definitely see the famous MONKEYS! 🐒 They’re fun to watch but don’t feed them and keep your distance, they can get curious and might try to grab your stuff! If you can, stay until sunset, the view is unforgettable. You can even see Africa across the sea on a clear day! 🌅 Honestly, this hike is worth every step, don’t waste your money on the cable car. Get the real experience by climbing the Rock yourself! the views, the nature, and the sense of achievement are unbeatable!

What a beautiful place to visit, stunning views and the monkeys are so lovely. Nice cafe at the top, and plenty to see. We walked down and went in the tunnels as well. My issue is the amount of taxis piled up waiting. At one point there were at least 30!! You end up spending your time avoiding being run over as they don’t care and act like they own the place. One beeped his horn at me and I was nowhere near in his way. I think that amount of taxis ruins the experience.

We loved Gibraltar :) There is a lot to visit here - for example, viewpoints with monkeys, caves, military tunnels, a castle and much more. The trip is for the whole day. I recommend visiting! :)

We recently spent the day at the Rock of Gibraltar and it did not disappoint! We travelled up the rock using the cable car and walked back down. The ride up took around 4 minutes and offered fantastic views. The walking descent allowed us explore the nature reserve and its attractions at our own pace and had some brilliant sights along the way too (but beware of the aching legs the next day!). A Nature Reserve ticket is a must and gave us access to key attractions like St. Michael's Cave and the historic Great Siege Tunnels. You can buy this ticket online or in person at the Cable Car ticket office; the price was the same either way. Throughout our walk, we also found various cafes, gift shops, and plenty of toilet facilities. This allowed us to comfortably spend the entire day on the rock. The views were incredible, stretching out over the sea and into Africa. Be mindful of the Barbary macaques but we found that left alone (and away from food), they were no trouble.

A bit expensive we paid close to €200 return for 2 adults and 2 children. The ride is short but the views are amazing and totally worth it. I think the easiest way to get up the rock in Gib! We got the tickets that include the Nature Reserve! Buy tickets in advance the wait is long, bring water!

Amazing views from the top, where you can see all the way to Africa. We visited on Friday, not too busy. Just a couple of people in line to buy tickets. The line to enter the cable car was whatsoever a bit longer and it took almost 30 minutes in the sun with no air condition. On the top you get to see wild monkeys. There is also a souvenir shop and a small bar.

What an experience. 🙈 I bought my ticket for the cable car (CC) and the shuttle to it before crossing the border for 23€, which was the first mistake. Once I got to the entrance of the CC there were two lines. One for the people who bought their tickets in advance and one for people who didn't have tickets yet. The least was way shorter and got merged with the we-already-have-tickets line at some point further down the road, so the no-tickets-guys all passed me by and it felt like you get punished for paying earlier and attending prepared. Also, there was a guy who told us, this line takes 1.5h and offered a better shuttle ride going up directly for the cost of about 50€. Great. Another punch to the guts for paying in advance. After being in line for an hour, suddenly I've been told that the last pre-paid shuttle ride back to the border leaves at 4:30, however it was already 3p.m., so I knew, I would never make it in time and would have to pay again to use the public bus. "Honorable mentions": there is only one toilette half way through line, which you'll reach after about 45 mins and there is no place to buy drinks, which is lethal standing that long in the heat. Furthermore, the 23€ didn't include going to the skywalk. On top of the rock they asked me to pay another 30£ to go there, which I declined. My advice: Take the public bus to the CC for about 2,60€ (Bus numbers 5 or 10, which start right where the shuttles start, when crossing the border to Gibraltar) and take the offered shuttle ride instead of the CC at the bottom of the rock for 50€. They will offer it right at the beginning of the line to the CCs. I certainly won't ever get into this line from hell again. Once you've made it to the top, it's a good experience.

It is extremely crowded. If you buy online, you still have to wait to exchange the code you receive with the real ticket. After waiting for an hour, we barely managed to make it to the half of the queue. We decided to hike to the top, which is actually a very nice experience. I recommend hiking and buying the Nature Reserve tickets from the road.

There are many questions and little precise information about how to get at the top of the rock and see all the sights. Tried to put it all together. 1. Should I book the cable car in advance and how do I get at the top? It depends on whether you arrived in Gibraltar on your own or on a cruise ship. It also depends on whether you want to just go up to the restaurant with nice views and go back or walk along the entire cliff. The decision is up to you, but the ticket price will also depend on it. A) If your cruise arrives at 7-8:00 am, it is better to be on the cable car by 9:00 am, then you can avoid a long line and will wait for a maximum of 15-30 minutes. NB! Important! Some people arrived at 11:00-12 o'clock, and then the cable car queue tooj about 2 hours! B) If you are arriving on your own, you can order a taxi tour. Prices and times you get from taxi drivers at Gibraltar. C) You climb to the top on your own. Don't forget to buy an entrance ticket to the rock. The journey will take approximately 1,5 - 2 hours depending on the route and what you want to visit, but it is better to go straight to the top by cable car. This will save you a lot of time if you don't want to spend the whole day on this rock. D) Make booking through your operator. If you are not in good physical condition, advise to arrive early or take a taxi! NB! Monkeys are very interesting, but be extremely careful!!! This is a real monkey gang. They may act cute and funny and not look at you, but at this time another monkey may snatch your bag. If you have food in your backpacks, they can smell it and can atack! Large males are especially dangerous in order to demonstrate their superiority, they may attack everyone in a row, even large human men! If you are with children, keep them close to you, no sudden movements, no desire to pet the monkey!

Great way to get to the top of the rock! They really pack you in though, so be sure to get an outside view. We did the walk from cruise port to the cable car and it wasn't bad. We walked down the rock and stopped at the Skywalk, St Michael's cave and the Apes Den, then back through town to the ship. Overall we did 9+ miles walking. The downhill nature of trail was rough.

Very crowded and very busy you should not visit in the middle of the day!!!! Early morning or late! Otherwise better to go for with guided tours small vans available at the entrance for almost the same price and faster tour for all the landmarks up there! So you don’t need to wait in the son or walk between the landmarks on feet

Our tour took us to the breathtaking Saint Michael's Cave, and what an experience it was! The cave itself was stunning, filled with mood lighting and enchanting music that truly showcased nature's beauty. While I had anticipated a more extensive cave system, the atmosphere was still captivating.

The caves are not easy to get to and usually require a bus trip to get to. I must say the effort is worth it. Though the area accessible to the public is not large, it is really beautiful. The lights and music set off these limestone formations wonderfully. The stalactites and stalagmites have formed amazing shapes over thousands of years. Of the all the formations the St Michael image is the most sticking and best seen when the lighting reveals the image. The amphitheater is great and I believe there are concerts held in the caves. A great place to visit.

Really amazing cave in some places I would argue the lighting takes away from the natural beauty. The light show is great but don't expect any info on the cave at this point. Definitely worth a visit, stunning natural structures.

So beautiful! Its cool inside, not too hot or cold - just perfect. Every so often there are colourful lights flashing onto the walls of the cave making them look beautiful, as well as showing the area that is meant to look like Saint Michael better. (Included image). There is an area with a bunch of chairs where you can watch a little show of lights on the cave walls every seven minutes. There is a few stairs so wouldn't recommended someone with limited mobility to go however there is a wheelchair lift available to the show area.

It was a really nice experience. The light installations are pretty and effective. There is a small area with chairs for concerts. The acoustic must be amazing. Sadly we had no time for a concert there. 😊

It was a wonderful place to see the Europa point and from there you could see Africa and more there was a light house also a mosque so beautiful stunning on its own the view overlooking was so fantastic also seen the Harding battery memorial

Stunning views! We got there for the sunset 🌅 there are interesting facts to read about the area and monuments to observe. The lighthouse is interesting, but the best thing about the point was the view of the sunset!

Southernmost tip of Gibraltar, one can see Africa from this point on a clear day. The Europa Ppint lighthouse or the Trinity Lighthouse is quite pretty with its red and white colours against a backdrop of blue waters and the sky. There was a nice breeze during the day which made the warm sun bearable.

Nice views across to Africa. Cafe was ok but a bit slow. Can get busy but plenty of space.
