Park
Nature & Parks
Stadsparken in Lund is a charming city park that offers a variety of attractions for visitors. The park features picturesque grassy areas, statues, and a delightful cafe where you can relax with a cup of coffee. It also houses a bird museum showcasing local birdlife and boasts a large playground for children to enjoy. The central area showcases classical French and German gardens, while the rest of the park follows an English landscape garden style.
Beautiful park with a lot of green and place for different activities. Peaceful environment. I found it more interesting than the botanical garden.
Joanna C — Google review
Nice place to take a short walk and breathe in some fresh air
Elyar Z — Google review
One of the best park, I have ever seen. Very scenic and beautiful. Must visit for every Lund citizen and visitors.
Nikhil D — Google review
I really like the fact that the park has so many characters: the lake in the middle brings a bit of a wild vibe because of the bushes surrounding it, the very manmade engineered side of the lake with a mini waterfall and deck is also beautiful in its own way. The lawn areas where you see groups engage in different outdoor games and activities is on one side, whereas the kids play area is on the other side, kind of isolated. The meandering paths take you to a small stream, to private corners under some trees, whereas the fountain and the surrounding area is bright and open. Not a huge fan of the bird enclosure, but love this park! The restaurant in the premises is also lovely and carried the spirit of the park.
Shraddha R — Google review
Really nice park. Skateboarding place is big and good. Ducks are friendly. Volleyball sand field available for all almost all time. Kids playing ground is the best with small castle and swings. There some summer activities, like music and public dancing. Some hammock available. Ice cream is pricey 😞
Anton M — Google review
We enjoyed it a lot. It was a pity that the castle playground area was closed due to renovation.
Llorenç V — Google review
Due to its design, Stadparken, located in the centre portion of Lund municipality, Sweden, provides a stunning and wonderful sight to view. There is a lake, many birds, sculptures, trees, and footpaths, among other things that help to buffer the ecosystem around this park. Since it's been winter, the trees have shed their leaves, leaving just skeleton trees standing alone, waiting for summer to bring the leaves back to life. As per my understanding, this park was dedicated in 2011 as part of the park’s 100th anniversary celebrations. Even though it was winter, the park has architectural and landscape splendour. Any traveller to Sweden should make this park a priority on their list of sites to see.
Emmanuel K — Google review
It is a very nice park, perfect to exercise, enjoy nature or expend some quality time with your kids. It is very clean, has a cute lake full of ducks, sculptures and great playground. You can easily reach the park by bus or walking.

Lund Cathedral

Mentioned on

Lutheran church
Sights & Landmarks
Lund Cathedral, a renowned Lutheran church in Sweden, is a must-see landmark with its 55-meter-high towers known as Lunna pagar. Dating back to 1145, the cathedral boasts historical treasures like the untouched crypt from 1123 and an astronomical clock from 1380. Designed by architect Helgo Zetterval, the main block features a classical style and faces a charming square. Visitors can also admire the impressive Kungshuset tower nearby.
Lund Cathedral is a must-see if you’re visiting southern Sweden! The architecture is absolutely stunning with it's massive stone towers-seriously impressive! The cathedral really stands out in the center of the city. It's hard to miss. Inside, it's really pretty with its stained glass and a cool astronomical clock located towards the back. Some of the people I met that came out shortly after me said they weren't allowed to see the clock or take pics. I think they start to get strict there on visitors once mass begins. It’s free to enter and is worth a stop in. A memorable landmark in Sweden for sure.
How L — Google review
A beautiful old cathedral built around the 1100s. As with cathedrals back then, there is a crypt where kings and other important people were buried. Another really cool antique is the astrological clock that still works. Amazing place and it is definitely a must visit when in Lund.
C N — Google review
Lund Cathedral isn’t just a place of worship — it’s a cathedral wrapped in Swedish legend, myth, and medieval wonder. From the moment you step inside, you feel the weight of centuries and stories pressing in from the stone walls and shadowy corners. The most fascinating part lies beneath the main floor — the ancient crypt, built in the early 12th century. Here stands the eerie statue of Finn the Giant, said in local legend to have built the cathedral in a single night. When the bishop tricked him out of payment, Finn tried to destroy the cathedral but was turned to stone and now stands silently guarding the crypt. It’s a chilling and unforgettable sight that adds a mythical edge to your visit. Then there’s the astronomical clock, an enchanting medieval timepiece that still functions today. Every day at noon and 3 p.m., you can watch it come to life as the Three Wise Men process before a mechanical Virgin Mary and baby Jesus, while medieval music plays. It’s like stepping straight into a fairy tale. Even if you’re not religious, the deep sense of Nordic lore, mystery, and ancient craftsmanship make this one of the most memorable cathedrals in all of Scandinavia. A must-visit for lovers of legends and the mystical past.
Dmitry Z — Google review
Very historical church , must visit and it’s near to malmo. It’s built in year 1100 and architecture is very beautiful. There is no entry ticket for this church. Usually there is lot of weddings happen in this church and some times it can be closed for visitors. There is paid parking available nearby. Lot of restaurants also nearby.
Jayeshmon C — Google review
A very serene place, It is beautiful cathedral built around the 1100s. It was worth the visit for the beautiful stained glass windows and the silence. the offerings of burring the candle was satisfying
Sunil K — Google review
It's a magnificent ancient church that has retained its genius loci. There is an astronomical clock inside which shows not just time but also date and zodiac sign and it chimes, with moving marionettes, at noon. And this is followed by a short prayer and Bible reading, which I very much appreciated. The bookstore across the church yard is also very much worth visiting.
Tomas C — Google review
I really liked it. For a 1000-year-old cathedral, it's very well-preserved. Don't miss the basement, there's a very interesting crypt there.
Renzo L — Google review
Lund Cathedral (Swedish: Lunds domkyrka) is a cathedral of the Lutheran Church of Sweden in Lund, Scania, Sweden. It is the seat of the Bishop of Lund and the main church of the Diocese of Lund. It was built as the Catholic cathedral of the archiepiscopal see of all the Nordic countries, dedicated to Saint Lawrence. It is one of the oldest stone buildings still in use in Sweden.

Open air museum
Kulturen in Lund is a captivating museum that offers visitors a unique experience to explore local history and culture. The museum comprises both indoor and open-air sections, showcasing historic buildings and lush gardens. Visitors can immerse themselves in the daily life of past eras, from the Middle Ages to the 1930s, through various exhibitions on folk art, modern design, and global culture.
What a wonderful experience we had at this museum. It was way bigger than I could have imagined and we spend a solid three hours there. Lots of different houses that give you the feeling how life was back in Sweden. Very well preserved and plenty of interaction. There are many activities you can do in the museum which also makes it fun for kids. Only feedback I have is that not everything is translated in a convenient way.
Rob K — Google review
A large open museum of Swedish culture in Lund, few temporary exhibitions are hosting there, all of them are very interesting, and there are lots of exhibits of different houses and cultures which shows the Swedish life from the 1600s to the modern days The open museum area is pretty large and it's perfect to enjoy a cozy afternoon there. There's a restaurant, a café and a souvenir shop with some very interesting books. You'll most likely spend more than 2 hours there thetefore is better to go there earlier.
Möbius — Google review
I was quite impressed with the open-air museum. Apparently, throughout the last century, they have taken old buildings from around Sweden as they were about to be demolished and took them apart and reassembled them here as life-size exhibits, showing life in eras past. The 18th century parsonage and the wooden church are probably the most impressive items in this museum. But one can also visit a 1920s mason's apartment, or tan early 19th century house of a local university professor (he lived well). The whole place is very kid-friendly and one can spend anywhere between two hours or a whole afternoon there.
Tomas C — Google review
A beautiful open air museum about houses in Sweden from the 16th until the 20th century, some from the country-side others from villages and cities of southern Sweden. All free accessible and some with nice exhibitions. The museum is located in a city area with old buildings from the 16th century onwards worth wandering around.
Dp B — Google review
A very nice open air museum with various old buildings. You can walk into some of them and see how people lived in the past. There are also various exhibitions in different museum buildings.
Morgan L — Google review
Wasn't really my thing in the end, but there are lots of diverse arts things to see here, so it is worth it though! I was also a bit tired this day
Karel L — Google review
This museum is a must visit when you are in Lund. Every exhibition was well curated. Being an open air museum it offers both: beautiful scenery and authentic insights into life in historical Sweden.

Botaniska trädgården

Botanical garden
Nature & Parks
Botaniska trädgården, located at Lund University, is a beloved botanical garden offering a diverse collection of plants and trees. Visitors can explore the lush greenery, visit the gift shop, or relax at the charming café. The garden is a popular spot for nature enthusiasts and families, providing ample space for leisurely walks and outdoor activities. Despite being particularly picturesque during winter when trees are not in bloom, it remains an enchanting sight to behold.
A beautiful place with a nice array of colourful and diverse flowers. Known to be the biggest botanical garden in Sweden and one of the biggest in northern Europe. What adds a lot to the experience is the small hilltop which offers a great and wide view over this part of Göteborg. It is the perfect place to enjoy a nice summer walk in the pleasant warm (but not hot) nordic summer. Once done with the botanical garden, you can progress for a small walk in the nearby protected national forest. The entrance works on a honour basis, so generally if you don't have any money, you can enter for free, but there is the voluntary option of paying 30kr for entry or donating money via online money transfer methods.

An absolute must if you are the slightest keen on the world of plants, trees, shrubs and the lot! Amazing place to just walk around in, chill on a bench, explore all the interesting greenery and learn from informative signs along the way. Playground for kids, shop and cafe. A big greenhouse to enjoy too (closed until late 2026 for restauration). The garden is within walking distance from just about everywhere in Lund as situated close to centre.
Karin — Google review
Beautiful and relaxing park Kids also love Free entrance to the garden and there is small coffee place
Seyda G — Google review
I expected more flowers so I got a bit disappointed but it is a nice garden overall.
Joanna C — Google review
A very beautiful garden with a huge variety of plants and such as well as big neat lawns perfect for picnics or a bench if you’d prefer that. Right now it’s under construction but the new green house is no doubt going to be great!

The park features hills, valleys, and deciduous beech forests with rivers and various hiking trails of different lengths and difficulty levels. Visitors can start their adventure at the Naturum Visitors Center in Skaralid and explore the diverse landscapes while enjoying beautiful views over the valley.
Absolutely loved the place and they way it is organized. I took the blue path and highly recommend it for a one day visit. Take good shoes (not necessarily hiking ones) as it gets rocky in some places so definitely not sandals or open shoes.
Tamim A — Google review
We had a great walk here. The weather was rainy, but the nature was beautiful even so. Everything is clear and there are toilets and also some drinkable water at a place along the thread. There are several threads we walked the 7,7km one.
Katalin S — Google review
You can enjoy various courses! I went with my kids, so we picked a short one, but it was still super fun! And it's awesome that you can enjoy the museum right in front of it too! Totally recommend checking it out! ✨
Su H — Google review
We went there on October 24th around 3 p.m. I know it was a bit late, but I only had a short time to see it. The drive to the park was very pleasant, and the parking lots were almost empty. Seeing it in the fall was truly beautiful - so colorful and peaceful. The trees, falling leaves, and the sound of the wind and water created a tranquil atmosphere. I really enjoyed my short visit there and took some amazing photos.
Haidar A — Google review
A breathtaking escape into nature! Söderåsen National Park is truly a hidden gem in southern Sweden. The scenery is absolutely stunning—lush forests, dramatic cliffs, and peaceful streams everywhere you look. The hiking trails are well-marked and range from easy walks to more challenging routes, so there’s something for everyone. I highly recommend the Skäralid valley hike and the lookout point at Kopparhatten—the views are unforgettable! The park is very well maintained, with clean rest areas and helpful maps. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing day in nature, a family picnic, or a solo hiking adventure. I left feeling refreshed and recharged. If you’re in Skåne, Söderåsen is a must-visit!
Mohamad Z — Google review
One of the best national parks i have ever been to. The trails are marked well. One can very well rely on the trail signs on the trees to safely complete the trail without getting lost. I had the pleasure of taking the longest route - the blue trail. Its easy for the most part except for few elevations, which tested my endurance. Remainded me why its classified as hard. The lady in the reception was super kind and helped me with her suggestions of the trail.
Logesh K — Google review
Impressive nature park with several hotspots offering magical views and experiences. I can only recommend EVERYONE to visit the park and go on short or long hikes.”

nice place for an extended walk - lots of shadow / forest, hence ideal on hot days. don‘t do with kinderwagen, very young kids or elderly people; some tours can be quite choppy, slippery and hilly.

A Magical Day at the Castle with Alpacas, Llamas, Goats, and Ponies 🏰🦙🐐🐴 I had the most wonderful experience at this charming castle! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and perfectly maintained — every corner looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale. 🌿✨ The highlight, of course, was spending time with the animals. There were friendly llamas, fluffy alpacas, adorable goats, and the sweetest little ponies — all very well cared for, clean, and incredibly gentle. You can pet them all, and they truly make the experience unforgettable! There’s also a lovely café on site where you can relax and enjoy a coffee or snack surrounded by nature and the peaceful atmosphere. The view of the water from the castle is stunning and adds even more magic to the whole place. This is a perfect spot for a relaxing day out — whether you’re an animal lover, a nature enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful escape. I left with so much joy and a full heart. Highly recommended! 💛

We had a really nice time at the Midsommar celebration here. You get a lot for the ticket the castle itself with the museum and also you can meet the llamas and ponies. Great for picnics.

Beautiful park and fairytale castle with a splendid cafe nestled in the rose gardens with marvelous view on the lake. The sandwich with smoked deer and pickled cucumber and local cheese was fabulous, same goes for the coffee cake. The museum had 3 exhibitions, worth seeing to learn a bit more about the history of this magic place.

Skånes Djurpark is a wildlife park that houses over a thousand Nordic animals in naturalistic enclosures. Visitors can enjoy watching majestic elks, spotting foxes hiding in the bushes, and interacting with cuddly animals in the petting zoo. The park also features the world's first Shaun the Sheep theme park and Expedition Up, where wooden bridges allow guests to observe animals from above.
I had a lovely time at Skånes Djurpark! The park is very clean, family-friendly, and the animals have plenty of space. It’s a great place to learn about Nordic wildlife in a natural setting. I especially enjoyed the moose and bear areas. The walking paths are beautiful and peaceful, and there are nice spots to relax or have a picnic. Perfect for a day out in nature! I recommend you buy your tickets online, it's more affordable.
Gizem Y — Google review
Comparative to other zoo in Sweden and this is fairly less entertaining, but there are good number of activities for the kids. They do not have any specific indoor marine or small animals and neither they have big animals like tiger lion elephant rhinos they have bear bison and nothing much fancy, a small dinosaur park is also good to see
Kumar S — Google review
We went before Halloween, the park was decorated very nicely. There was a good atmosphere and we loved the animals. It was a good visit.
Jane V — Google review
Be prepared for a long walk 😊 We couldn't see all the animals but it was worth to visit. Buying the ticket online in advance (not the same day) will make you save a lot.
Turker T — Google review
Very toddler friendly. There is a small Shawn the sheep ride area where you go with a tractor. (They do spray water on you during the trip, its super cute actually) The wall through the park is shaded. The dinosaur area is really cool, the dinosaur make noises and it can be a little bit scary, but is very fun even as an adult.
Adde A — Google review
Nice place, especially for kids, but unfortunately we didn’t see any wolves or bears. Also, since it was a big day (Ebo Day), you could have staffed the food truck with more employees — it’s not reasonable to wait an hour just to get a burger sandwich, especially knowing there would be a large crowd.
Amin A — Google review
Huge beautiful animal park, very nicely maintained. Various species. Restrooms throughout the park. Playgrounds, streetfood and a lot more
Anikó D — Google review
It's a nice place to have a day out in nature. It's all native animals, though, and many of them are nocturnal, so you likely won't see every animal in the park out and about. I really liked the area for the seals, and I thought it was unique in the way that it was set up like a natural pond, rather than something more resembling a swimming pool that you usually see at zoos. It was a very hot day when we came to visit back in August, and the ice cream certainly helped offset some of the heat!

Hands down the best zoo we have ever been in. Friendly, proper areas for the animals, each with enough space to withdraw when they want. Great layout and so much love in the details! Highly recommended!

I liked the place, easily accessible and with a toddler it was amazing. The larger parks tend to be more stressful and slightly harder to view the animals. None of which I felt at this place. The animals really seem to be loved and cared for by the keepers. A good restaurant, with great food (I ate meatballs of course) A strong 4

Animals have very big spaces for living and enjoying there lives. There is a big park with trees, tables and cafe. You can make barbeque and have a picnic.

Nice zoo in a pleasant countryside surrounding. Not too many animals, but still enough to get kids up to 9-10 years old entertained. Nice addition to the park is a pool area, which is open during the summer, and included in the ticket price. Entrance fee is a bit on a high side of acceptable.
Michael S — Google review
Very nice animal park with surprisingly many different types of animals. A good visit with the family. We arrived at opening time and very few people there then, so the walk around the park was almost done alone which is nice, as opposed to the commercialised parks.

Greyfriars Abbey in Ystad, Sweden is a 13th-century red-brick monastery complex that now houses a local history museum and crafts shop. The town of Ystad itself is a small but charming city in Scania, part of southern Sweden. Other attractions in the area include Cineteket Ystad Film Center, Kunstmuseum Ystad, Charlotte Berlins Museum, Ystad Djurpark, and Marsvinsholm Castle.
It's a very nice and pretty Monastery. Even in September /October it's quite the sight - maybe not the most exciting if walking through cities, sightseeing or just architecture isn't your thing... Though I found it to be very cool. Especially from the outside where the park like surroundings are quite beautiful. When walking through the inner city of Ystad it should definitely be visited :D

Tykarpsgrottan - besöksgruva

Mentioned on
1 list
Mine
Tours
Tykarpsgrottan - besöksgruva offers a 40-minute guided tour through an old limestone mine with stone steps leading into the cave. The ground inside is made of porous limestone and gravel, so it's not entirely flat and can be slightly slippery. Visitors may need to crouch in some areas due to limited headspace. The campsite is quiet with friendly staff, clean facilities, and a well-maintained onsite 'cave' worth visiting.
It’s an old mine. Not much more. That being said, the kids loved it. The tour guide takes a group through the labyrinth of chambers in 40 minutes or so. Not cheap, but an interesting experience.
Peter S — Google review
Very expensive for the experience - it is a guided tour of 40-45 minutes in Swedish, a few interesting tidbits that could have been a signpost :) Actually this would have been more appropriate as an unguided tour with arrows marking the route. And for 1/4 of the price. Chalk mines are in essense not thay interesting to look at as well.
Paul A — Google review
A nice and quick guided tour through an old, primitive, limestone mine. The tour is about 40 minutes. There are stone steps leading into the mine, but beroende the entrance the ground is made of porous limestone and limestone gravel/dust. Not too slippery, but you still need to watch your steps slightly as the ground is not entirely flat. Headspace is mostly sufficient, but in some places you will likely need to crouch slightly.
Aron C — Google review
Tourist trap. Tours are in Swedish and short. Cave is small. Didn't see anything special, no bats. Not worth the price.
Freek R — Google review
I think it's good for children, but a little bit boring for adults. The excursion is very short and your ability to go to look something inside the cave is limited.
Olga G — Google review
Extremely nice and quiet campsite. Friendly staff and good prices. The service buildings are kept very clean although the shower costs SEK5 it is acceptable because of how well maintained it is. The onsite 'cave' is well worth a visit as well.
Remco M — Google review
The place offers bbq and a cafe in summertime. A new playground is located close to the mining entrance. Restrooms available and a small souvenirshop is also close at hand.
Sebastian W — Google review
Well.. I really don't know what to type here. I love caves, but you are very limited to where you can go in the cave. And the tour was very childish. Other than that, a massive cave/old mine..

Christinehof Slott

Cultural center
Sights & Landmarks
Castle
"Christinehof slott" is sometimes translated into English as "Christinehof castle," but it may be better described as an aristocratic palace or manor house. Christina Piper, the building’s namesake and the widow of a close advisor to the Swedish king, saw to its construction in Andrarum between 1737-1740. She also played a critical role in the nearby alunbrucket's expansion, which produced alum until the early twentieth century. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the site alone warrants repeat visits. It also hosts an interpretive exhibit regarding Christinehof's background. An unexpected side attraction is Christinehof's role as a rock music concert site from 1985 to 2012. Included among the artists who performed at Christinehof are Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, Alice Cooper, Elton John, Bryan Adams, Little Richard, Santana, Tom Jones, and the Beach Boys. Photographs from 11 March 2015, 10 September 2022, and 24 May 2024.

Very nice castle with beautiful grounds. Didn’t visit the interior since we found the entrance free a bit off putting. However the surroundings are very enjoyable and it’s part of an ecopark which offers lots of possibilities to visit and hikes. Has a nice caffe with a good selection of pastries. Would definitely recommend.

Glimmingehus

Temporarily Closed
Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Glimmingehus is a well-preserved medieval castle from the early 16th century, featuring a museum and café. The castle is strongly fortified and offers an authentic experience with its spooky history. Visitors can explore the halls and climb steep stairs, although it may not be suitable for elderly or those with mobility issues due to the challenging terrain. The site offers various activities such as bow and arrow shooting, medieval games, and events showcasing historical craftsmanship, food, and culture during the summer months.
A remarkable late-medieval fortress and castle. It’s worth a visit even when closed, as the courtyard is readily accessible. It’s even better to pay the admission and to see Glimmingehus’s interior, enjoy the view from several stories high, and to learn from the interpretive exhibits. Photographs from 11 March 2015, 10 September 2022, and 24 May 2024.

Well kept 14th century fort. Very good guides. Lots of activities around the fort such as archery and small museums. Small fee for adults and free for kids up to 18. Perfect on a cloudy day! I would say its a perfect day out for a family with younger kids, especially if they want to be knighted ;)
Rebecka O — Google review
I visited this place the first time when i was a small kid with my parents. Now this year I brought my own kids to show this castle. And the kids loved it. To see how people cooked and lived so many years ago. This year there was also a new bakery with incredible buns and cakes. Would definitely recommend to make a break and try them out. Definitely worth going here with or without kids. This was my 5th time here. Good stop on the way to the beach or a rainy summer day. Easy to park and honestly quite cheap to enter. I believe it is only open during the summer months.
Björn A — Google review
NOT friendly for elderly or bad walkers. There are no senior/pensioner prices, and when you get up there, the very steep steps mean these guests cannot enter the amazing castle. With an 80 year old, it would have been nice to know this... Otherwise, beautiful and authentic experience despite the closed café and the lack of any English, Danish or any other languages that are not Swedish... Honestly, amazing! Also, the bow and arrow activity was fun and competitive.

A fine place to learn about Brio’s history. After midsummer a new Barbie exhition will open. There are already now a lot of Barbies to look at. Some restaurants and a café exist close to the museum. As ex-children we really enjoyed our visit.
Kirsi W — Google review
A really fun place for smaller kids and adults who are into the Brio Trains. The museum is based in the former head-office of Brio, so lots of history around the place. There are various rooms in which executions are placed but an equal amount of rooms where kids can play at there own leisure. There is a softplay room, at least 3 rooms full of Brio trains and tracks. Some of which have tables with pre-build tracks but there is also one where you can build your own layouts. There is a separate section on Barbie and there is a larger area on the Model Railway brand Märklin. Here there are a few model trains riding along the tracks, activated by the buttons you can press. There is also a small slide and climbing setup as well as a pingpong table to play with. There is no on-site restaurant, so make sure to bring your own lunch. The former company canteen still serves as a place to sit down and eat something. They do have some tea and coffee making facilities on site to provide something warm to drink. We spend almost a full day with maximum entertainment for our 3 year old. Who had a blast and did not want to leave. On your way out there is a toyshop aswell as a small area within the shop which sells some vintage, no longer avalible old Brio stock.
Roel H — Google review
Rated 5 stars because my 3 year old son loved it and played with the different BRIO sets for 2,5 hours. Do not miss the room in the back. The Exibition is further a bit small, not much to see to be honest I feel they missed a chance to show a lot of all the different BRIO playsets released over the years, but instead it’s a collection of bridges and the first electric train.
Mark — Google review
We spent 4 hours of joy in there! It is really a great place, where basically they let your kids play with a lot of toys in different rooms.
Leonardo S — Google review
Very fun to see the toys of the past and realize how many Swedish toys made it to America. Tomten area was a little scary at first, but really cool to see the toy making process with the real machines used in the past. Wonderful play areas! I almost missed the store - it is quite distant from the museum exit and not at all obvious. Signs are there if you know to look for them; probably a godsend to parents who don't want to visit the store every single time!
Sharon W — Google review
Unbelievable many wooden toys BRIO have developed during the years. Nice display of their history, and a lot of play rooms for kids all anges.

Free entry. Educational. Multilingual (Swedish and at least English and German - auch auf Deutsch). Diorama, Aquarium, statues of animals. And surprisingly, a small themed "AR" ride with a moving pod and fun drone footage.
Lucas K — Google review
Another excellent naturrum in Sweden. It shared considerable information about fishes found in the area(river, lake). It is also one of the places with good birdwatching opportunities. One of the staff members, Sussie, explained with enthusiasm about the cranes that visit the vattenriket area between mid-April and mid-May. Their changing display of fishes found in the area is an easy way to impart information. The restaurant on the second level is value for money, also the view is nice. The Opteryx experience is exciting for the kids, not much for the adults. There are two short hiking trails in the area. Overall, I highly recommend it.

If you are passing through Kristianstad in the south of Sweden, don't miss the a walk along the nature reserve just outside town. It is centric around the water and it's importance for the area. The area has a very rich bird and plant habitat

This is a small-scale, cool , interactive natural-museum kind of structure. I love how it encourages children (and adults) to research their surroundings. There are examples of eggs of various local birds, models of the birds, local plant examples, microscopes with samples of bones, plants, etc...it is really an interesting and fun way to explore local fauna and flora.

National park
Nature & Parks
Stenshuvud's National Park is a serene sanctuary where lush deciduous forests meet pristine white-sand beaches, offering an idyllic setting for swimming, hiking, and picnicking. Situated in Osterlen, the park provides breathtaking panoramic views of the coast and surrounding landscapes. While planning is essential due to the vast area and limited amenities, visitors can enjoy leisurely walks through beautiful woodlands, take in stunning viewpoints, and relax on the sandy beach.
One of the best walks I have been on. We took a 4.2 km hike and it had everything. We crossed through the forest, there was a viewpoint that was worth the climb, a sunny beach to dip into to cool off, and at last a rocky finish to make the hike a bit challenging but still very manageable. Definitely worth the drive to there.
Rob K — Google review
Every beach along the coast seems to be very different. This beach has tons of beautiful pebbles that are smooth and some are pretty colorful. Worth a visit!
Kien P — Google review
A really nice hike if you start from the Hällevik side, right by the Kivik Musteri. There is also a parking and a camping spot. We went directly to the northern top which was a few kilometers. After that we went down to Naturum and from there to the beach. From the beach we took a path back to Hällvik, which was quite rocky so not suitable for too small kids or strollers. We had 4 and 6 year olds with us and they found the hike quite exciting and not so hard. In total we walked about 6-7 km, starting from 17 o’clock until 21. We also had a picnic on the top of the mountain and then had a stop for swimming and snacking at the beach. I was worried for the last part of the hike but I gave some lollipops to the kids and it really motivated them. If you come at the end of May you will find a blossoming rhododendrons at Hällevik.

Kivik Cider factory is a must-visit destination in Kivik, offering a comprehensive experience for visitors. The facility includes a small museum, an expansive shop with various apple-based products, and an orchard featuring labeled apple trees. Guests can indulge in cider tastings during specified hours or opt for evening tastings with snacks. Families will appreciate the educational tours and the opportunity to explore the apple trees.
If you love apples this is the place to be. Big garden with lots of different types of apples. Big store with different types of juices and lemonades and other types of goodies. You even have the opportunity to sit at the restaurant or cafe to sit down and enjoy some coffee or ofcourse apple juice.
Rob K — Google review
A worthy stop when in Österlen. There is a cafe, a shop and a viewing factory where they display some of the machinery and juice making process, fun to see for kids. The cafe was somewhat pricier than normal. For example, a piece of apple pie was 59kr. The shop, on the other hand, is cheaper than what you would pay in a store. There were many people on a Friday afternoon, but I wouldn’t say crowded. The biggest attraction is swings in the tree that are super high. Kids loved it as it goes really high, very popular.

A unique place indeed! Old car yard of cars from 1930s-60s. There are sinages to explain the history of the place. Power of Mother Nature can be visibly seen as the forest is reclaiming back its space. Very small limited parking area.

Very unusual place. Full of old rusting cars and car parts. Like a cemetery. I imagine it used to be cool when the cars were still recognizable. Now it is just rust and dented metal. Quite depressing but stays in memory. Worth to visit. For free.

Well worth a visit if you are into cars... every corner seems to tell a different story. There are so many different views and angles. The woods are slowly taking over. There are signs explaining what the owner did over all those years and the city trying to find a solution to deal with everything left in the woods. 2001 they decide to keep it to let people see how nature heals itself. We'll be back at some point to see how things change.

Kreativum Science Center is an engaging destination for all ages, offering a captivating exploration of nature and groundbreaking inventions. The museum's various discovery zones are designed to stimulate curiosity, providing an immersive and educational experience that engages and inspires visitors. While some exhibits may be aging, the center offers interactive activities such as making paper and playing with remote control boats. It's especially recommended for families with children aged 10-14, as there are numerous activities to keep everyone busy for several hours.
Great for kids! Tired grownups might get a bit bored, but there's enough fun even for adults. The experiments and information were creatively catering to all ages.

Amazing experience for my daughters. At least 4 hours needed. The movie shown about how the eye works was way to heavy though. Not sure why they choose that movie for kids. I had a hard time following how all the different cells in the eye function on a molecular level, or how level jumps in hydrogen electrons send out different frequencies of energy in space. :D But besides that, a great place for my 9-year olds.
Christian G — Google review
We're here to see the dinosaurs we're so much more to see. Do you have children I recommend you to go here. They have a shop with a lot of small things. You can take a fika if you want to, you are going to need a coffee after spending hours here

Great scientific experience for kids and adults. It includes astronomy, climate change, physics etc. There is also a nice open-air space with an old jet fighter, bubble soap tool and some other mechanical experimental tool.
Umut S — Google review
The permanent exhibits are interesting but a little aging. There are some nice interactives but many are broken or not working properly (one of the remote-controlled boats, the water power station in the park, the mouth-like musical instrument, among others). The dinosaur exhibit was great for my 4 year-old! He loved the animated robots, the digging, shadow theater and painting activities. But for older kids it might be a little boring. Besides these activities the exhibit itself does not have much interaction or information. I felt a lack of docents/educators to give out information, help us use the interactives or present special activities. I was not told about the fossil hunting that took place outside when we entered, which was a real shame, I only saw it when it was too late! In summary, we had a great time but many things could be improved.

Kungsholm Fortress, located offshore in Karlskrona, was established in 1680 to defend the town and is an extraordinary sight. The only way to visit the fort is through a two-hour guided boat tour that can be booked through Karlskrona Turistbyra or at the Marinmuseum. The 'World Heritage Tour' offers a lovely afternoon trip from Karlskrona to Kungsholm's fort with skilled and friendly guides.
A pleasant boat ride over to the fortress and a very nice guide, would definitely recommend this to people who wants to know a bit more about Swedish naval history. There is also a huge botanical garden with over 200 different plants if you are interested in nature. Overall the trip takes around 4 hours give or take and the boat has some minor refreshments although I would recommend bringing your own water and meal if you are planning on eating on the island since they do overcharge a bit on the boat.

An amazing day in the Fortress and a friendly, funny guide walked with us on the island. The " wild" lives were interesting too ( haha!) it was public holiday and no one worked there though

So much Swedish naval history at this place.

(Translated by Google) Nice fort, you can only visit the fort with a guide and boat. You must not walk around alone. Some stairs and you walk a lot, no seats unless the guide has placed chairs. Not adapted for the disabled. It is absolutely worth a visit. (Original) Fint fort, man kan endast besöka fortet med guide och båt. Man får inte gå runt själv. En del trappor och man går mycket, inga sittplatser om inte guide har ställt fram stolar. Inte handikappsanpassat. Det är absolut värt ett besök.

We didn’t get to set foot on Kungsholm Fortress, but we were lucky enough to get an incredible view of it from our cruise ship as we sailed into Karlskrona—and even from a distance, it was impressive. The fortress sits on a small island just off the coast, and its strategic position at the entrance to the naval harbor makes it clear why it played such an important role in Sweden’s maritime defense. Built in the late 1600s, Kungsholm Fortress has guarded the approach to Karlskrona for centuries and remains an active military installation, which makes it all the more fascinating. From the water, you can spot its rounded bastions, lighthouse, and even a glimpse of the courtyard inside the old stone walls. Knowing it has a botanical garden within the fortress walls—planted by the soldiers and maintained for generations—only added to the intrigue. While civilian access is restricted, getting a view of Kungsholm from the ship gave us a real sense of its scale and historical significance. If you’re cruising into Karlskrona, be sure to head out on deck—you won’t want to miss this striking piece of Swedish naval history quietly holding its post just offshore.

(Translated by Google) Masterful. The fort was built around 1680. There was never any actual fighting. The entire island and fortress are intact and original. The tour goes via the towers to the roof. The cannons were there to defend the water entrance. The cannons are gone, there is now an art gallery with works by stationed soldiers and war implements and tools on display. It also smells like the year 1700. You can climb the lighthouse from the roof. A beautiful place to take panoramas. The guide was perfect and knew everything. Was a former Marine himself. (Original) Magistraal.

The Naval Museum, also known as Marinmuseum, is a modern and family-friendly waterfront museum located on the island of Stumholmen in Karlskrona, Sweden. It boasts a diverse range of exhibits that showcase the country's rich naval heritage.
À great must, in particular Nep(tune) Also the reception team made us feel extremely welcome, in particular the lady of Italian origin whose name I failed to ask. But for sure she'll remember the guy who liked stickers
José I — Google review
Interesting and extensive museum, gives great insight in the becoming of Karlskrona. The submarine is most impressive, although all the other exhibitions were also created with great care. One minor problem was that not all the signage was always available in English, or maybe only one sentence was while the Swedish text was very extensive. Google Translate solved this, but that could be improved for foreign visitors.
Niels G — Google review
While not a huge museum, it has some great exhibits, not least a very large naval submarine you can go inside and walk about in. There is a theatre that shows a very well presented film on the timeline of the Swedish navy. All the exhibits are displayed well and have English explanations alongside those in Swedish. The information is not verbose, which is a mistake often made by museums I've been too. The museum has an excellent restaurant which rounds off a really enjoyable experience overall !
Adam B — Google review
Most beautifull museum for marine, I've seen. Being able to visit a real U-boot on the inside completly, just gives you much more feeling with the history and live in the marine. Also the lunch buffet in the museum is good quality.
Wim V — Google review
Very interesting exposition includes 2 submarines and 3 ships. Good for visiting with kids. Also discount is available for entance if less than 1 hour until closure left
Marija L — Google review
A lovely couple of hours entertainment. Lots of bits that both kids and adults can enjoy like the nuclear submarine you can go on - do expect queues in busier periods. Really nicely weaved in overarching narratives with rich personal stories and events such as the Polish submariners who fled to Sweden in WW2 and Swedish conscripts experiences of the cold war. For an Englishman a fascinating way to learn more about Sweden's evolution through regional power, to superpower, to the softpower and cultural force you see today.
Nathan L — Google review
Very interesting museum offering informal text in various languages. It is a very interactive museum aswell with educational games so you easier can learn about for example submarines and how they work. You can enter a submarine aswell and see how they lived in there and more. There is also a buffet restaurant at the entrance if you want a quick bite before or after your visit.
Dinos I — Google review
I’ve been visiting the Blekinge region for years, and I must confess that this museum surprised me very positively with its accurate exhibitions and attention to detail. It transports you back in time and offers a magnified view beneath the surface of Karlskrona’s naval mastery. The museum doesn’t earn a full five stars because the bistro offers only limited and rather bland plant-based options, while most Swedish classic meals served are centered around meat and fried fish. Moreover, I felt the museum’s exhibitions tended to present Sweden’s naval and military history in a way that passively promotes war. Despite being a civilian institution, the displays often focus on military achievements and hardware without encouraging deeper reflection on the consequences or ethical complexities of conflict. I would have appreciated a more critical perspective that invites visitors to consider the broader impacts of war, rather than treating it as an inevitable or unproblematic part of national history.

Incredible place, what a treat! I'm so glad that I made time to stop and visit James Bond and his amazing museum. James, what a great person to meet and talk to and most of all to hear the story about his life and his unique collection. Strongly recommend it. It's a must see and hear experience.

Once in a lifetime experience. If you're in the vicinity and a certified Bond fan, definitely check it out. If you're not all about Bond, the owner will entertain you either way. You don't wanna miss this one!

Very special place. The owners name: James Bond. He is very charming and nice, with a great personality and story. He has several cars, ships and even planes there. The best one is the air ship from Die Another Day. There are also some motor bikes. A lot of very fancy details. He owns lots of model cars, 007 video games, cloths and much more. A bit pricey (€20 pp).

Every real James Bond fan should at least once in his lifetime, visit this worldwide unique Exhibition about the double 0 Agent. I have already visited it several times and I am always impressed. Greetings to the director, MR Gunnar Schäfer.

A very surprising museum for real James Bond fans, with an impressive story about the origin of the museum. Here you will find objects that you will not find in any other museum. Very special and definitely worth a visit!

Fantastic Museum with lots of requisites of James Bond movies even including a Hovercraft which was used in one of the movies and several Bond cars. The owner, Gunnar, is a really nice guy with a unique story and if there were a swedish James Bond it would be him for sure. Thank you for the good time! Finn & Matthi

James Bond fans... Welcome to Scaramanga's Fun House Museum! The James Bond 007 Museum was a highlight of my trip to Sweden. For context, I say this having spent four weeks travelling all over Sweden, including to the Arctic Circle and seeing the Northern Lights! I especially made the detour on my journey from Lund to Gotland for a visit. The 007 Museum is located in the south of Sweden, about a five hour drive from Stockholm within an industrial park on the outskirts of Nybro. If you haven't heard of Nybro... this is its number one attraction (if you exclude the zoo). Nybro also has a one other notable reference to James Bond - being the hometown of Kristina Wayborn who starred as Madga in Octopussy. The owner, Gunnar "James Bond" Schäfer opened up the museum especially for my visit and even gave me a guided tour. Half the fun of the museum was in meeting Gunnar, AKA "James Bond" himself, and learning about his life and passion for James Bond since childhood. Gunnar screens a fascinating documentary about his life and the museum (plus a music video!) to all visitors at the start of the tour. Gunnar's extensive collection is as almost old and varied as the franchise itself. The 007 Museum is without parallel and fully representative of the franchise, which stretches beyond the films into the world of Fleming also. Gunnar even has two hangers filled with his extensive collection of vehicles. This includes classic cars - some from the actual films. Then there are boats, a gondola, and motorcycles. Gunnar even has a "Little Nellie" gyrocopter, a plane, and a working hovercraft from Die Another Day (upon seeing Gunnar fire the hovercraft up, I left with a new found respect for that film)! The unconventional layout of the museum sees sections packed full of movie props, posters, video games - and even a roulette table. The experience of exploring this treasure trove of a museum will remind Bond fans of Scaramanga's fun house (from the Man with the Golden Gun). I spent two-and-half hours exploring - and I could have easily spent a full day at the museum! If you have some extra time I highly recommend you to try your hand at the video games. There's original arcade pinball machines, console games, including the original GoldenEye on the Nintendo 64 (I challenged Gunnar: for the sake of attempting to beat "James Bond" - he respectfully declined). There's even an original and highly advanced trivia game: On Her Majesty's Secret Service Trivia Challenge. I broke into the Top 10 on my first attempt (Gunnar was suitably impressed). Overall, the 007 Museum is a must see for all Bond fans, and will be a fun and entertaining experience for all others. Thank you Gunnar! I can't wait to see you on my next visit! Harrison from London

Långe Jan, also known as Lange Jan, is a towering lighthouse located on the southern tip of Öland in Sweden. Standing at 41.6 meters tall and boasting 197 steps to the top, this historic structure was built in 1785 and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
Långe Jan lighthouse on Öland is a remarkable destination! The views from the top are simply stunning, offering panoramic vistas of the island and the sea. The surrounding area is beautiful, perfect for a peaceful walk and bird-watching. The lighthouse itself is well-maintained and steeped in history. A must-visit for anyone traveling to Öland!
Ajay K — Google review
Sweden's tallest lighthouse. Tickets are sold in the boutique (restaurant's side), not at the entrance (friendly staff). I was told there were 200 steps to the top, might be 197, I didn't count. The staircase is very narrow but overall the climb is easy-peasy. Might obviously be better when the weather is nice but overall very good spot for bird watching it seems. The views are what you'll be here for and are up to what you expect. Everything around is a protected natural area.
Stanislas T — Google review
So nice place which definitely worth it. I was there on Friday and only few people were there with me. Entry to the lighthouse cost 50 SEK and the view is so beautiful.
Anna S — Google review
Well worth a trip if you like birds, good view of the unique landscape from the top
Arne O — Google review
It's one of our favourite places to walk in nature among the birds. We have been regular visitors to Långe Jan and the bird sanctuary for the last 1.5 years. Långe Jan is Sweden's tallest lighthouse. The view from the top is breathtaking. The lighthouse is only open during the summer and autumn (check the exact timings on their website). They have an entrance ticket that can be bought on the spot. The entrance opens at every hour. There's free parking and free toilets on the premises. They also have a bird museum, a small souvenir shop and a restaurant. Parking is open around the year whereas other facilities are open only during their opening time of the year. You can walk around the premises, on marked trails in the forest, and by the sea. Be sure to look at the map so as not to walk to the prohibited areas or hunting areas. The reserve also serves as a grazing area for cows and sheep. You can easily spot different species of birds, deers, rabbits, and seals. I recommend carrying decent binoculars to experience the surrounding beauty.
Dhyanendra R — Google review
Beatiful view If the weather is good, you can go up to the platform by paying a small fee (i recoment bringing cash with you) and If its open you can only go up at full hours!
Odoncor — Google review
The tallest lighthouse in Sweden from which you can admire variety of birds. It's also hugely popular with birdwatchers. The place itself is very peaceful with not many visitors, there were no queues (middle of August). So, if you're into nature and landscapes it's worth visiting.
Łukasz R — Google review
It's probably a good spot for bird watching but I think the restrictions on where you can go due to the bird sanctuary was too restricting. But as I said. For bird watching probably great, for humans with dogs just wanting to explore the nature I would go elsewhere.

Naturum Ottenby is a nature reserve situated near Lange Jan, making it one of the most popular spots for birdwatching in Sweden. The area boasts stunning surroundings, particularly at sunset. Oland, where the reserve is located, offers diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife, with easy access via the main road and ample free parking. It's a haven for various bird species and provides an opportunity to appreciate them without being an expert.
This place is a bird-heaven. Personally i am not into birds and stuff but you could see lots of different birds together here and no need to be an expert to adore these beautiful cratered. Also i would say the view from the tower is a must see if the weather is good. Naturum itself can be improved little bit more but also quite enough as is.

Öland is a fascinating island. The landscape changes every few miles. The south is a complete different place than the north. It's rural, vast and rugged...and pretty flat. It's an amazing place and home to lots of animals (most of them being birds down here). It's easy accessible by the main road. Parking is plenty....the lot is really huge and free of charge. There's no entrance fee as well. Besides the landscape there's also a wonderful lighthouse, a restaurant, a visitors centre and some shops. Some bathrooms as well. The most southern tip is off limits for dogs though. There are several walking trails leading around the south. Some right through a cow pasture. This Naturum is definitely a nice place to be and to take a walk.

Very unfriendly staff in the butik. We were with 2 people but only 1 could go inside, no problem at all would you think. The women inside got angry on my wife while she had a clothespin in her hand (8 clothespins = 8 costumers). I was waiting outside. My wife came outside crying because of the unfriendly staff. Butik not recommended! Unfriendly staff! Go somewhere else! Just enjoy the nature with a smile on your face.

Sights & Landmarks
Eketorps is a living history museum located in a rebuilt walled fort dating back to 300AD. The site offers a glimpse into fortified villages during medieval times, complete with houses, costumed staff, and animals like scampering pigs. Visitors can explore the reconstructed early and late Middle Ages castle, providing an immersive experience of Swedish life during these historical periods.
We recently visited a beautifully reconstructed early and late Middle Ages castle, and it was a fantastic experience for both adults and kids! The castle has been thoughtfully rebuilt to provide a realistic impression of Swedish life during these historical periods. It features example buildings from each era, giving visitors a tangible sense of how people lived throughout the castle’s history. For children, there are a variety of engaging activities that really bring the Middle Ages to life. Our kids had a blast baking bread in the traditional medieval style, playing several historically inspired games, and braiding bracelets from cotton thread. These hands-on experiences made the visit both educational and fun for the little ones. The entrance fees are quite reasonable, with tickets priced at 10€ for adults and 7€ for children. Given the quality of the experience and the range of activities available, we found this to be well worth the cost. Overall, this castle is a must-visit for anyone interested in history or looking for an enjoyable family outing. We highly recommend it!

Very nice recreation of iron age/Viking fort. Be ready for a 200 m walk from the parking lot into the fort in likely 20 km/h wind. But it’s worth it. No need to go during regular hours as it’s easy to walk in and see everything.Had no cost.
Kirk W — Google review
Very cool place. We went in oktober, the guide at the turistcentre of Öland said we could go into the castle. You can walk around there but the information desk at Eketorp was not open anymore. It was fun to see this place.
Lidian S — Google review
One of the more engaging historical sites for both adults and kids. In my view well worth the visit. This is essentially an engaging experience in the setting of a rebuilt fortification from the 10th century that allows your mide to vision the past and how life might have been like at that time. Reswrve at least 2 hours for the whole thing and if you visit (like us) on a hot sunny day make sure to bring some headwear and water to drink.
Mats I — Google review
A good visit in a typical reconstructed migration period castle, with reconstructed buildings from different eras, both migration period, late Iron Age and when it was used as a medieval fort. The kids especially loved the archery station. A smaller museum is erected in the center of the castle. Part of the ring wall is open, where the gate house stands. Staff are friendly and the entrance fee is cheap.

Great place. Reconstruction of iron age and medieval ring fortress.

Very cool fort from ~1200 AD, though it was built on top of previous forts. Enthusiastic staff add some flavour. Nice museum within. There was a weird feminist art exhibit about not having babies or something that creeped me out but that was a “bonus” I guess (felt very out of place). Otherwise the normal exhibits are great!
