Accessible primarily by boat or canoe, this stunning reserve invites visitors to explore its lush forests and sparkling shores. Very Beautiful place with raw nature. Nice hikes and place to sit and picknick.

Så fint och trevligt! Bring your swimsuit with you because you’ll regret to not dip in it. The park also provides dry woods to grill, very kind!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the breathtaking Stendörren Archipelago with my family and our trek along the 3.5 km Äspskär trail was an unforgettable experience. As we immersed ourselves in the serenity of this picturesque location, we were captivated by the lush forests, sparkling shores, and gentle hills along the well-marked path. The panoramic views of the scattered islands in the distance were simply mesmerizing. We crossed three bridges that connected the islands, providing a sense of adventure and bridging the gap between each unique landscape. Stendörren Archipelago truly offers a peaceful retreat and a perfect opportunity for quality family time amidst nature's wonders.

Unbelievable beautiful place. We are so excited that we discovered it, there are a lot of parking places in different areas of the reserve area with toilets and bins. We have met only a few people and it was very quiet. There are plenty of small, rocky islands and lots of wild birds. Highly recommend for everyone who travels in this area.

Amazing place. My friends surely won’t believe the pictures I took are real. Walked the long way round. 10km and took us almost 4 hours. The parts with little islands and bridges can get a bit crowded.

If you never been to mid sweden nature its wonderful. Bring a thermos of coffee and hiking boots and you'll love the place. If you been to swedish nature alot its OK . With the fact that you can find similar places around Sweden without the man-made structures and signs everywhere.

(Translated by Google) Fantastic place with an impressive castle and a castle park that only has Drottningholm as a worthy competitor in Sweden. The nature reserve that is connected to the castle park is large and partly planned so there is a lot to see and a walk can be both short and long and you never have to walk on bad or overgrown paths if you don't want to. There are plenty of parking spaces at the castle and you don't have to pay to park there either.

Gripsholm Castle is a stunning lakeside castle with well-preserved 16th-century interiors and a remarkable state portrait collection. Visitors can immerse themselves in the castle's rich history, feeling like they've traveled back in time as they explore its numerous rooms across three different floors. The National Gallery housed within the castle is definitely worth seeing, showcasing an impressive painting collection. Guided tours are available for those seeking a comprehensive overview, but independent exploration is also an option.
Interesting castle, lots of art on display. Of course there's a famous lion too! Next to a lovely village too.

A wonderful castle surrounded by many trees and a stunning lake. It's the perfect photo spot! Inside are many beautiful portraits but not many other special things to see even though several rooms are really impressive like the theater

I’m a Canadian in Sweden for vacation and I’ve got to say, this castle is amazing because it gave me a sense of nostalgia due to the very quiet and peaceful environment. To anyone driving to Stockholm I highly recommend stopping by and taking a photo or two at the very minimum!
Mark Y — Google review
Wonderful castle and grounds that are mostly free to roam, with admission to the castle. The staff were pleasant and informational. The castle is well preserved and offers a myriad of exhibits and artifacts.
Sarah H — Google review
Perfect location to visit with friends and family. Nice atmosphere and great view from the place to the water of lake. Outside having very nice sitting arrangement where you can sit and enjoy the fika.
Nafis B — Google review
Beautiful castle with tonnes of history, a lot more interesting than some of the other castles in Sweden that have been stripped bare of its authenticity. We went on the Swedish spoken tour and it was full of lots of interesting information and a charismatic host. The grounds and gardens were so lovely in the summer weather. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Stockholm as it isn’t too far out from the city. We did find the gift store to be a little lacklustre (we want fridge magnets 😭).
Courtney M — Google review
it was a drive we're enjoying from Stockholm center. the castle din felt worth visit. it's just okay. but near by old steam train and watr body was a nice experience.

Lovely Castle (Slott) on an island (holm) with hundreds of portaits and more than 50 rooms. I would recommend to plan 1,5 to 2 hours for the exhibition alone. you may choose to extend your stay for a short walk around the island. Free toilets available at the entrance.

Tom Tits Experiment

Science museum
Water & Amusement Parks
Theme Parks
Child-friendly museum attraction where visitors learn about science through interactive experiments.
An excellent experience for both parents and children. Even if your children are small, they will enjoy this dynamic environment. It's beneficial for older children to learn and review physics and science principles. There are indoor and outdoor locations, four stories of various exploration, and plenty of cafes and dining options. We'll definitely be back.
Sagar J — Google review
A wonderful place for children and adults alike. Little ones can playfully discover the laws of physics, learn about the human body and learn through play. The whole design of the place is stunning. And the food in the restaurant was a real culinary experience. I highly recommend it, it is worth spending a long time here
Nagy A — Google review
It's an amazing place to take kids to. We visited on a Sunday when there were the least amount of people and there were still plenty of people at every attraction. A pretty good dining area and food is prepared quickly, I'd not recommend the burger, the patty is dry burned and small with not much else in it except a salad leaf and two tomato slices with dressing.
Fredrik C — Google review
A wonderful experience both for parents and kids. If your kids are on the younger side, this place is so interactive they still love it anyway. For older kids (and parents), it's nice to learn and relearn some physics and science concepts. There's indoor and outdoor areas, 4 floors of different exploration, cafes and eating area aplenty. We will be back for sure There is plenty of parking behind the building, and seems like the turn over is high enough. Easypark app or pay meter on site.
Kien P — Google review
I’ve visited many science centers such as the Exploratorium in San Francisco, Technorama in Switzerland, and the Experimentarium in Copenhagen – and I must say, Tom Tits is definitely among the best ones. What I really love is the DIY, slightly vintage style. Some may see it as outdated, but for me that’s exactly the charm and beauty of this place. The kids and I especially enjoyed the large outdoor area with all its hands-on experiments. The ground floor and 1st floor were also excellent, though we found the 2nd and 3rd floors a bit less exciting. The absolute highlights were the centrifugal force wheel and, of course, the bike on the rope – unforgettable experiences for both kids and adults! Highly recommended for families who love to explore and playfully discover science.
Thomas S — Google review
The perfect place for kids! So many experiments, with a nice outdoor area. Absolutely recommend place to come.
Sebastian H — Google review
Smells like old people in there, if you can stand that fact, there is probably 10 to 12 attractions that are worth your time, that's If you got kids! The backyard has overgrown grass and is barely well kept, that's where the water tricks are. Food is none existing, very poor offerings so you'll need to find a restaurant close to it. Spoiler, there is none. All and all, it's not really worth the price but if you got some cash to burn, go for it. The experiment may been exciting 15 years ago, but even the ones that surprise you are actually long over due, I'm afraid.
Daniel F — Google review
Really fun place for kids (and playful adults). It's also a great lunch buffé with desert included. They add and remove some experiments every year so if you haven't been here in a while you will see new stuff. The latest update I've seen is the Mathematics room that replaced the thermal camera room. It was fun as well but I hope they put up the thermal camera somewhere else because that type of equipment is more unusual for kids to see somewhere else. From the autumn holiday week the outdoor section is closed for the winter. Longer opening hours during the summer school holiday is extra good.

We made it last day of the season- September 5th. Was beautiful weather to explore the grounds, including orchard full of apples and an ornamental flower garden. Beautiful piece of land and history, including store, cafe, museum and the mansion. Just divine. Tour was in Swedish, but we got a handout with the info. No jokes were there, but group was laughing all the time :).

This place is great. The café serves up really good food. I thought the ticket prices were a bit pricey but they are well worth the money and the guide round is informative. Hard to get to with public transport perhaps, but try to visit if you can!

Fantastic place, everything in mint condition. Staff in Cafe so helpful and serviceminded even though we came after closing time. A must see to capture Swedish history.

Birka Viking Museum & shop (Exhibitions, souvenirs and guided tours)

Sights & Landmarks
Historical landmark
Island with ancient remains dating from the 8th-century, Viking museum, plus living tours & events.
Visit the museum and island as part of a boat tour from Stockholm, which includes 2h 15min (one way) on the boat and 3h 15min on the island. A guided tour and entrance to the museum are included. The museum is not very large, but you can still learn some interesting things about Viking life and history. The guided tour was especially enjoyable — informative and well delivered!
Lena R — Google review
A very good day trip by boat from Stockholm, visiting an important island for the former Viking inhabitants. Some recreated dwellings and exhibits of original items, as well as an interesting and informative guided tour pointing out features from the original settlement and burials area, a museum and a cafe/restaurant make this a good trip for adults and families. Visited on a weekday in September 2025 with my partner.
Brian H — Google review
The island of Birka has such a long and powerful history from the Viking age. Rightly designated a UNESCO site the remains of the trading city from the 700 - 900 with it's wealth or graves and artefacts show how Viking society was structured beyond the warrior raiders that most people associate with them. The island provides a unique opportunity to experience Viking Life and to see why and how they built their fortified cities. Together with the 2 hour boat cruise from Central Stockholm it makes for a great day out.
Ian S — Google review
Clearly a Must-Do. Started in Stockholm you get an appox. 2h Boad ride through Mälaren with some Informations at interesting Points. On Birka awaits you a replica of a small Viking Village and a interesting Museum. But the most interesting part are the guided Tours around the Island. At the time I was visiting, there was a Tour for the "Viking Halloween" called Álfablót. It was only in Swedish but there was a Transcript available into English. Then there was a guided tour in English, witch was very good and interesting. The guide was very sympathetic. You get a good view onto the Island with his graveyards, where the city was located and the history about the Island and the arciological work. At least you can say, that around 3,5h is maybe a bit to short for one or the other, but it ist absolutely with it.
Lars T — Google review
Long cruise on the sea Baltic (2 x 2h15) Less 3h30 on the island and we can see a small village reconstituted (5 houses) See the viking grave, and if you want to walk, a church erected in 1939. It's not the thing that I recommend to visit if you are limited by the time. If you stay a week, yes please go there...
Guillaume W — Google review
I took the organized round trip with a boat from Stockholm to Birka that includes entrance to the museum and a guided tour. You can get to Birka on your own (water taxi or private boat) but I would recommend a guided tour with the knowledgeable archaeologist from Stromma. He will show you the grave mounds and talk about the history of Birka and what we know about the town that was here. Available in both english and swedish. The museum has a lot of nice exhibits and information about life at Birka and the Viking way of living. There is also a small town with reproduction of houses built with the same material available in the Viking age and based on archaeological finds.
Sick M — Google review
Nice place to learn part of Sweden history and especially beautiful scale models 🙂
TD — Google review
The walk is is nice but there are not really any real ruins to see except for a reconstructed part of the village. We would have liked to stay a little less time on the island since you go though everything quite quickly but we were limited to the time scedule of the boats. The food and service in the restaurant was great.

A nice day in the weekend in an island in the Swedish archipelago.. An hour long boat journey (158 kr, return) from the port of Nynashamn, you will arrive here at the island of Utö! 🇸🇪 🔸 Summer started to fade already here but today's sun was good to do a cycling trip of 30km or so within the island from Utö to Ålö! I'm very glad I decided to rent a bicycle for 140 kr a day to take this cycling trip. It was so wonderful as the journey took me through old woodlands, dense forest areas, lakes, a tiny bridge, sand beaches and to the baltic sea as well. It gives me a sensation that I took a good decision in renting a bicycle. Had I not rented it, probably wouldn't have made it to Ålö! So... it was nice! 😊👍

Visited in September and definitely worth it. The garden is stunning as it has views of the water all around. It is important to mention that you need to book a tour in order to visit the inside of the City Hall, but it’s totally worth. The tour guide was very kind and answered every question thoroughly. If you come to Stockholm it is worth visiting

We were visiting the tower only and we enjoyed it a lot. It is very well kept, there is a lift for part of the stairs and there is a limited period of time you can spend upstairs as they form groups at certain intervals. I recommend buying tickets online as they dissappear fast.

Stockholm City Hall is one of the most impressive landmarks in the city – an architectural masterpiece that combines history, culture, and breathtaking views. The building is majestic from the outside with its red bricks, tall tower, and elegant arches, while the interior is equally stunning with its richly decorated halls, especially the Golden Hall, where mosaics glitter and tell stories from Sweden’s history. The outdoor areas are just as remarkable – the beautiful courtyard and gardens, the statue of Birger Jarl (the city’s founder), and the scenic promenade along the water. From here you get some of the best views of Stockholm and the surrounding islands. The place feels both peaceful and inspiring, perfect for photography or simply enjoying a walk and the atmosphere. I highly recommend joining a guided tour – you’ll discover many fascinating stories about the building and the Nobel Prize banquets held here. Even if you don’t go inside, the complex and the waterfront are a must-see stop for every visitor to Stockholm. A true symbol of the city – beautiful, inspiring, and unforgettable! 🌟

We had such an amazing time visiting the Stockholm City Hall! The building is stunning, but what really made the visit special was our guide, Chris (Christopher). He was honestly phenomenal — super knowledgeable, funny, and so passionate about what he does. You could tell he truly loves sharing the history and stories behind the place, and Stockholm's/Sweden's history in general, which made the whole tour come alive. We all left saying how much we wished there were more guides like him! If you get the chance to visit, definitely do the English guided tour — it’s 100% worth it.

Stadstuset, is the city hall of Stockholm Municipality in Sweden. It is the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet and a major attraction for tourists. It is an example of Sweden's National Romantic style architecture, having a refined eclecticism, some elements of Venetian Gothic architecture, having blue decorated walls and made with almost 8 million red bricks.. In 1907, the work started being assembled, while the construction took twelve years, from 1911 to 1923, being finally inaugurated on 23rd of June 1923.
Neeru D — Google review
It is a truly amazing place to visit, with beauty both inside and out. As it is a building where people work, they have implemented strict rules, including being escorted by a local guide, which is a sensible measure for maintaining order. The interior is particularly lovely, featuring a variety of different rooms.

A masterpiece of Swedish Architecture. This building is an amazing experience for all whom are interested in nordic architecture philosophy. The legacy of heritage in terms of spaces and finishings could be found here. Huge interior spaces, impressive dialogue between walls - floors and ceilings. Genuine local marble, beautiful textured brickwork. A landmark of Stockholm, the heart of Nobel Prize Ceremony, which shouldn't be missed from your itinerary.

Definitely worth a visit. Went for a wedding and the whole entire walk to the officiants location is a museum tour! Would love to go in the daytime for a full tour.

Fotografiska Museum Stockholm is housed in a historic customs house and is renowned for its contemporary photography exhibitions featuring works by Swedish and international photographers. The museum offers captivating installations, workshops, and interactive sessions for families and older children. Visitors can enjoy scenic dining options with waterfront views at the top-floor restaurant while taking in the gourmet food and world-class photography on display across four floors of the converted Art Nouveau warehouse.
The best museum ever, really. It’s the third time I come to Stockholm especially for see the exhibition here. It’s always super interesting but it’s a complete experience. The restaurant- the food is so good and the music is so cool; the architecture and the interior design is so cosy; the shop : you want to buy everything. The personal is very welcoming and sympathetic. Really it’s an addiction. I went to Berlin, Tallinn and New York for see the others Fotografiska and I’m super exiting to go to the one in Shanghai this summer.

Amazing restaurant experience with lovely staff and ambience. We had these two ‘snacks’ first, a thin sliced boar on toast (but much more than that) and a cup of goat cheese w berry. The tomato mezze was sublime and the squid with poached egg was my highlight; probably my best squid dish in years. Fun room with kitchen action plus views of the harbor. Free admission to museum with your reservation💕 Thanks all!

Excellent photography gallery in a striking coastal location in Stockholm. Located in an excellent architectural conversion of a previous customs building offers some dynamic exhibition spaces. On display at the time were exhibitions by the photographer video and film director Anton Corbijn , international images by Viviane Sassen and mid 20th century photographs by Hans Hammarskiold.

Great museum in an old building, interesting exhibitions. The bistro is excellent! Ate a pulled pork burger and an apple tart, and it was very good quality for a fair price. It has a lounge area, with great photos on rotation on huge screens. Very good ambiance. If I visit Stockholm again, this will be a must!

Fotografiska is such a cool place modern, creative, and full of inspiring exhibitions. The photos are always top-notch, and they rotate often, so there’s something new every visit. The café upstairs has one of the best views in Stockholm (and great food too!). Even if you’re not super into photography, it’s worth going for the atmosphere alone.

Location is good. View from cafe amazing. Phots on first floor I doing amazing, just super cool. Second floor was a bit abstract for me. If your are in Stockholm defiantly put this on the todo list.

Had an hour to kill before jumping a boat back to the motherland, so we decided to kill here. The photos were great and atmosphere fantastic. Highly recommend if you’ve got a couple hours before a ferry. The bar served cold ones.

I was bemused . I expected something fresh , avant- guard but instead was accosted by the tried and true. I was hoping for an elevation but that never happened. There were two works that were impressive, and that I attribute to the skills of the photographers. In essence the body of work rehased seasoned tropes.

The Royal Palace, also known as Kungliga Slottet, is a magnificent Baroque-style palace in Stockholm, Sweden. It serves as the official residence of the Swedish monarch and houses over 600 rooms along with three museums and a vast library. Visitors can opt for an admission fee that includes a guided tour to explore the grandeur of this symbol of Sweden's monarchy. The palace offers a glimpse into history and culture through its opulent Royal Apartments, Treasury, and Royal Chapel.
The Royal Palace is an absolute must-see in Stockholm. The state rooms are jaw-dropping — every ceiling, wall, and piece of furniture is so ornate and over the top, it’s like walking through a living piece of history. But the real surprise is the basement. It has a completely different vibe — less formal, more immersive — and might actually be the most interesting part of the entire tour. You get a closer look at artifacts, the palace’s foundation, and stories that feel more personal than grand. If you have limited time, don’t skip the lower levels. It’s the perfect contrast to the splendor upstairs and gives a fuller picture of the palace’s history.
Jarred F — Google review
I took a guided tour and it was very good! The history and original decor was beautiful! There is no natural light in many rooms as to protect the artwork, so it was a little difficult to get quality photos and see some of the fine detail. The tour was not too long, but the chapel in a separate section of the main entrance was amazing and free to enter!
Jake W — Google review
We didn’t have time to buy tickets for entry, but there is a small gift shop that you can visit without entering the palace. The items there make for lovely souvenirs, and the prices are very reasonable. The quality of the products is quite good, making it a worthwhile stop even if you can’t go inside the palace itself

Pretty expensive... But definitely worth the money if you enjoy history. We missed the noon guard change too so somehow try to make it, as it's something that will enhance the experience. It's interesting to visit the museum and be sure to occasionally look up at the ceiling for some beautiful designs. The palace was also pretty good and child-friendly :) gamla stan itself is a good place, tbh

Visiting the Royal Palace in Stockholm was an absolute highlight of my trip! The sheer grandeur and elegance of the building left me in awe from the very first moment. With its impressive architecture and rich history, it truly feels like stepping into a living piece of Sweden’s royal heritage. Each room we entered told a story, from the beautifully adorned halls to the treasures in the Royal Apartments and the glittering Crown Jewels in the Treasury. I especially loved the changing of the guard outside, which added a touch of ceremony and tradition to the experience. What I appreciated most was how well everything is preserved and presented. It’s not just a “museum,” it’s a vibrant place where history and tradition are still alive today. If you’re visiting Stockholm, the Royal Palace is a must. Whether you love history, architecture, or just want to immerse yourself in the regal atmosphere of Sweden, this place is unforgettable.
Andrei M — Google review
The palace was beautiful and there was some interesting art and architecture, but it’s not really that different from any other European royal palace to make it worth the 200kr/$20 ticket. If you are really into royals, this might be a more exciting place to visit. Otherwise you might be better off enjoying other sights.
TJ — Google review
If you’re somewhat interested in the royals or want to spend money, go for it. Otherwise I don’t believe it’s totally worth it. It’s just lots of mirrors and some artwork. Building was beautiful tho and staff seemed nice enough.

Vasa Museum

Museum
Historical landmark
The Vasa Museum in Stockholm is a must-visit attraction, housing the incredibly well-preserved Vasa ship, which tragically sank on its maiden voyage in 1628 and was salvaged centuries later. This popular museum offers an immersive journey through Sweden's maritime history, showcasing the meticulously restored vessel and providing insights into its ill-fated expedition. It appeals to history enthusiasts, maritime history buffs, and families seeking educational experiences.
Visiting the Vasa Museum was, without question, one of the absolute highlights of our time in Stockholm. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the breathtaking sight of the nearly fully intact 17th-century warship that gives the museum its name. Photos honestly don’t do it justice — the size, craftsmanship, and sheer presence of the Vasa are overwhelming in the best way. It’s one of the most incredible old-world ships I’ve ever seen, both in scale and in the intricacy of the carvings and details that have been so remarkably preserved. What really adds to the experience is the storytelling. There’s an almost cinematic quality to learning that the ship — after all the effort and grandeur that went into building it — sank on its maiden voyage just minutes after setting sail. That “spoiler” moment doesn’t diminish the tour; if anything, it makes the rest of the exhibits even more compelling. The museum does a fantastic job of unpacking the engineering flaws, the historical context, and the recovery efforts in ways that keep both casual visitors and history buffs hooked. One of the best surprises was the basement level. Unlike the ornate upper floors, it has a more relaxed, less crowded feel, with fascinating displays about the preservation process and everyday life on the ship. If you visit Stockholm, this is a non-negotiable must-see. Plan to give yourself at least two hours to really take it all in.
Jarred F — Google review
I didn't think the Vasa was going to leave the mark on me that it did. When I visited, I had a bad back and this museum had plenty of places to stop and rest and take pressure off my back. It's a good 7 floors. You can see almost every angle of the ship. The artwork and carvings on the outside of the ship was amazing to see the extensive detail and expressions. The size of the smallest mast was shocking. It really gave the vision of how large the ship truly is. We enjoyed the painted sculptures to show what they most likely looked like when they were on the ship. The museum took about an hour for us to tour. We didn't do the walking tour and we didn't have a guided tour either. But if you are extensively into history or the full story of the ship, I would recommend it. The gift shop has lots of souvenirs and is worth the stop
Lynn H — Google review
The Vasa Museum was a pretty awesome thing to see in Stockholm. The 17th century warship is so well preserved. In fact, it is still an incredible 98% original. There is an auditorium where you can watch a short film about Vasa, which was very helpful and educational. The ship is actually still actively being worked on to preserve it, decades after it was salvaged in the 1960s. If you are a visiting Stockholm for the first time, I highly recommend that you visit this amazing museum.
Liam C — Google review
The Vasa Museum is a very well designed and built museum, with lots of fun facts and information regarding living on the ship, what happened to it, etc. I found it very informative and interesting. And of course, the preserved ship was just amazing. I’d say the price is worth it, we spent somewhere between 2-3 hours here. It was a bit crowded, not gonna lie, but still manageable. If you are visiting Stockholm, you should definitely check out this museum!
Hajnalka K — Google review
A must-visit in Stockholm! The museum is laid out so nicely. Each floor is dedicated to specific “layers” of the ship, so you are learning about something that you can see directly from where you are standing. The bottom floor has very interesting stories about the people on it, as well as DNA research into who they were. We spent an hour here as we arrived close to closing time but easily could have stayed for much longer — wish we had two hours or more!
Tanya G — Google review
This was one of the most interesting museums I’ve ever been to. My initial thought was, how much content could there be for a museum about just one boat? Well tons! They found a way to highlight so many aspects of this ship’s short journey. The museum touches on the passengers, the construction, the history and the unfortunate fate of the ship’s maiden voyage among many other aspects. This museum is well worth your time.
Jason T — Google review
The museum was simply amazing. I had never seen or visited anything like it before. It made a strong impression on both me and my boyfriend. Although I’m not particularly interested in ship-related themes, I was very pleasantly surprised. I found it fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable, and two hours passed completely unnoticed. My boyfriend was also deeply impressed and said it is simply the best museum in Stockholm. We visited in the evening, and I think it’s better to come earlier to avoid time constraints. Also, during the day, the interior is probably brighter, which might make the experience even better.
Lizaveta K — Google review
This is an impressive museum. Not only have they built a building around the ship, but many different sections that highlight various aspects of the ship and life on it. The many different texts were informative and luckily not too long. Listening to the audio via qr code is an easy and convenient way to get a feel for the narrative around the ship.

ABBA The Museum in Stockholm is a must-visit for fans of the iconic Swedish pop group. It offers an immersive experience with a collection of memorabilia, interactive exhibits, and behind-the-scenes insights into ABBA's rise to fame. Visitors can explore a studio, dance floor, and enjoy engaging displays. The museum appeals to music enthusiasts, pop culture fans, and those nostalgic for the band's music. Families and children can also enjoy the interactive activities on offer.
Love this museum and learned a lot. I didn't really know much about them like how they were married to each other and stuff. It was fun and seeing the costumes was great. I have lots of photos and fun memories. It was def busy since I think it was the weekend so lots of tourist.

Visiting ABBA The Museum was an unforgettable experience! Even if you’re not the biggest fan of the band, the museum’s interactive exhibits make it fun and engaging for everyone. I loved stepping into recreated stage outfits, recording my own ABBA song, and seeing original memorabilia up close. The atmosphere is energetic and joyful, and the staff are welcoming. It feels less like a traditional museum and more like stepping into the world of ABBA. Definitely a must-see if you’re in Stockholm!

One of the BEST museums I’ve ever been to! It could be because I am an ABBA fan and so is my family, but another big reason is that the museum has so many FUN INTERACTIVE elements that there’s no way you ain’t gonna enjoy once you enter. From dancing, singing, designing your own costume, to playing the musical chess, I think this museum is just one of its kind and a MUST MUST MUST visit when in Stockholm!
Hardeep D — Google review
A fun museum!! I am not one to really enjoy museums and this one was worth the time and cost. The first display I saw was about the show in London with holograms. I never knew that and found it absolutely fascinating what they did! I loved the interactive 5th member of Abba stage, the silent disco, and the fun mirrors and photo taking opportunities. I enjoyed the Mama Mia area explaining the movie. As someone who never saw the movie, I found the information and designs interesting. There is a large section with post Abba music from all the members. I never knew the amount of music the members post group. This is a fun museum and I recommend it to everyone.
Lynn H — Google review
So much fun! Tons of original artifacts, storytelling, and interactive exhibits celebrating the music of ABBA. If you love this band’s timeless pop hits (and really, who doesn’t?), you’ll have a blast and learn something to deepen your connection with “Dancing Queen,” “Take a Chance on Me,” and all the rest. Long live ABBA!
Simon V — Google review
For music lovers, this is a Must Go place if you're in Stockholm. In fact, this is probably the main reason why you should make a trip to Stockholm!! A pilgrimage of sorts for us especially the generation that grow up listening to songs with really good melodies. ABBA epitomizes Pop music at a time when folks crosses over to Pop. We'll always be listening to Dancing Queen, Fernando, Mamma Mia, Money Money Money, Thank You for the Music, etc. These are truly evergreens. Although it's rather small in size, you should expect to spend 2 to 3 hours here. It's so nostalgic, capturing and each display will bring you back to the years gone by. Maybe even some tears as you start reminiscing your younger days. Even if ABBA is not up your alley, this is still a must go place if you're into music. Enjoy!!
Ken L — Google review
Awesome experience with an audioguide (using your own smartphone, bring earphones) to tell the story of how the band formed, their inspiration, composition process, and more. There was also a fun, interactive part to sing with the songs from ABBA in a mini studio, a show to perform side by side with them, and a nice bar and restaurant in the entrance. I’d like to have seen more options to purchase in the shop.

Skansen is a renowned open-air living history museum in Sweden, featuring over 150 historic buildings from across the country and a replica of a 19th-century Swedish town. Visitors can interact with craftspeople dressed in period costumes as they demonstrate traditional trades such as glass-blowing and cobbling. The picturesque gardens and small zoo offer opportunities to see Nordic animals like otters, brown bears, and moose.
The Skansen Open-Air Museum in Stockholm is an absolute highlight and one of the most unique attractions in the city. It beautifully combines history, culture, and nature in one place, offering visitors a chance to step back in time and experience Swedish traditions in an authentic way. Walking through Skansen feels like traveling across Sweden’s past. The historic houses and farmsteads, each carefully relocated and restored, bring to life different regions and eras of the country. Costumed guides demonstrate traditional crafts, baking, and daily activities, making the experience both educational and entertaining. A special highlight is the zoo within Skansen, which focuses on Nordic animals. Seeing moose, bears, lynxes, reindeer, and even wolverines up close is unforgettable, especially for visitors who may not encounter these animals elsewhere. For families with children, the children’s zoo is a joy, offering a chance to meet farm animals and enjoy interactive activities. The location itself is stunning, with panoramic views over Stockholm and its waterways. Whether you’re interested in history, culture, wildlife, or simply a relaxing day outdoors, Skansen has something for everyone. In short, Skansen is more than a museum — it’s a living, breathing piece of Sweden. A perfect blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty, and a must-see for anyone visiting Stockholm.

This ws my first open air museum experience. I loved it. There were even people role playing from the era they belonged. The historical walk was an amazing experience. Although all the places wete not open, I could still get to experience few of the attractions. I personally was amazed by the glass making workshop. The zoo on the other side was also a fun experience. The ticket also included access to the match museum. It was worth the money and time. I ended up spending 3+ hours, yet I could not go to all the spots. Children's would love this place no doubt. During summer, this is the best place to come along with family. Online tickets are cheaper then buying on spot.

Loved our visit to Skansen! We went in early November and despite some attractions being shut, we still had a fantastic day. You really need a full days’ visit to see everything. You can walk around and see people dressed up in traditional clothing, some people will also interact with you or answer any questions you might have about their house. We saw the glassblowing and pottery demo and spoke to the nice man in the spice shop who made us feel like we were transported back in time to the 1800s. Don’t miss out on the English-speaking tour that starts by the top of the escalators as the guide takes you to parts of Skansen you don’t get access to on your own. The animals were a real highlight, we also loved seeing the smaller ones in the children’s zoo (bunnies, guinea pigs, mice). The seal talk is in Swedish but they do a demonstration of the keepers feeding the seals and that is also lovely to see. There was a lot to see and not enough time to go to the aquarium on our visit so we didn’t do that. There are some food stalls, a nice sit down restaurant and snacks being sold so we were able to have a lovely lunch inside. We booked our tickets online ahead of our visit.
Tanya G — Google review
We had a great time at Skansen. The old houses and farm buildings were fascinating to walk through – each one comes from a different part of Sweden, so you really get a feel for how people lived in the past. Seeing the Nordic animals was another highlight for us; lynx, wolverines, bears, and moose all in one place is pretty special. We visited as two adults, but it’s easy to see how much fun this would be for my kids too, with the animals, open-air history, and hands-on activities. There are also cafés and nice spots to take a break, so you can easily spend most of the day here. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Stockholm.

It’s a peaceful and charming place to spend a few hours, with great views and lots to learn. Highly recommended!

It was one of the best places I have ever been to. We booked the “Morning with animals” experience and it was one of the most interesting things I’ve ever done. The tour guide (shoutout to Martin) was absolutely dedicated to being as helpful as possible and explained everything in perfect English. Dear San Franciscan, Beginning of October 2024, I stayed a few more days after completing my Scandic tour. Cool weather around 50F. Thought I need 3 day pass of using the train, but as long as you stay in city center, you don’t really need one. (example: At Six, or IKEA as my point of start), this is a city you can explore by foot. It’s 30 mins walk from City center, visited most of the museums, had lunch in one of the restaurant nearby, Viking Museum, ABBA museum, a walk by the river, passed the Noble st, got about 20K steps in a day. It is a relaxing day. Yes you want to do the cruise tour when you can, and sign up with a guide who can narrate it for you the history of the town and what you see. Breathe those fresh air. I can see me returning back to Stockholm just to visit more museums.

A must-visit for anyone traveling to Stockholm. This island is absolutely beautiful and open to the public for free! The park is extremely lush, green, and expansive with many experiences to choose from, whether you are looking to take a long stroll, stretch out on a blanket, eat a good meal with a scenic view, or learn about Swedish history at Skansen. I highly recommend having coffee or lunch at Rosendals Trädgård - a locally operated farm and dining destination centrally located in the park. There is even an option to take your meal and enjoy it in the beautiful apple orchard.

This is a very cute and cozy coffee shop that also sells sweets and some food options. We stopped here because it has a nice view towards the water. We enjoyed a good hot chocolate near a nice mini cupcake with soft dough, a round thing of which name I can’t remember but very tasty and the cinnamon rolls. About the cinnamon rolls I do have a negative comment. One was for sure fresh and fluffy, the other was very dry - I think was from previous days and it remained on shelf to be sold to unlucky people like me😂

A simple coffee shop and cafe on Main Street with a view of the lake. Staff is not overtly friendly or chatty as is typical of many tourist towns, they tolerate us until we are gone along with our $, waiting for things to return to normal. You can sit and ponder the day away with a good book or a chat with fellow travelers who happen by.

Beautiful location, charming old fashioned design. Delicious ice cream. Caffe has two terrace to enjoy outdoor - one is with the lake view and another one bigger infront of the entrance, both are very beautiful places to relax and enjoy the view. Could be better serving of drings. No attention to details, which is expected in such place. In general recomended just to feel atmosphere of the place.

Fantastic goulash, and do not miss the pies or other desserts! Perfect, cozy spot for a fortifying meal or quick snack before heading out to enjoy the ruins, runes, and other local attractions.

What a lovely Cafè👌🏾. Very easy to spot. Great views overlooking the main street of the "beach front". Great music to create the atmosphere. Service is amazing and quick. Loved loved this little spot

A very, very cosy cafe with a room with simple decoration that makes us feel we belong there. Also, exterior tables, some with view to the lake (well... in Sweden, I struggle to know if I m standing in front of a sea, river, or lake ! 🤔) A small independent house selling ice creams (I didn't enter). I went to this Café already more than once. For cakes ! It's all very tasty.

St. Olof Church ruins

Mentioned on

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
In the picturesque town of Sigtuna, Sweden, stands the St. Olof Church ruins, also known as St. Mary's Church. Dating back to the 12th century, this photogenic Lutheran church was built in a Gothic style with red bricks and is located next to the ruins of St. Olof's Church. The well-preserved ancient ruin can be independently explored and features informative signs providing historical insights about the church's construction and significance during its time.
The Cathedral of St. Olaf in Sigtuna is a place with an incredible aura that transports us to distant times. The ruins of this temple, surrounded by the tranquility of a cemetery, exude history and mystery. Walking among the remains of the walls, you can feel the spirit of ancient centuries and admire the artistry of medieval builders. It is an ideal place for history lovers and anyone who wants to take a break from the hustle and bustle of modern life. 🙏

If the 3 church ruins in Sigtuna (& one site of former ruin) this is the most impressive. There is a translation plaque for a runestone at the fence beside the road, but I couldn’t find the actual stone with runes.
Lisbeth S — Google review
This church looks like was partially reconditioned recently. Is free to visit if f you don’t mind is surrounded by graves.
Andreea D — Google review
Who doesn’t love a stone church ruin? Especially if you live in Norway where the Norwegians of the past only liked to build with wood, so the churches double as saunas?.. Maybe. Here in Sweden, they seemed to accept the use of stone as a better material for everything except the saunas. St Olaf was of course “the fat one” from the Netflix series Vikings, and has churches all over Scandinavia dedicated to him, since he is credited with converting the barbarian hordes to Christianity. You probably won’t bump into him here, although I did feel that this ruin lacked a good story of being haunted by a Viking ghost, so I might start a rumour…. After all, I did feel a chill pass through me as I wandered under one of the archways, and thought I saw the outline of a large, bearskin covered Viking “converting” a local milkmaid wench over in the shadows.
Barbara E — Google review
The ruins of St. Olof's Church are located right in front of the Sigtuna beach. And there is a parking lot next to the premises of the ruins. Passing through the cemetery and St. Mary's Church, we reached the back side of the ruins. This ancient ruin is spectacular and well worth visiting. Because of its excellent preservation, you can now independently explore the ruin. There are informative signs at the ruin that provide more information about the church.

Calm and relaxed city. Must visit if there is a long transit in Arlanda airport.
Zain A — Google review
St. Olaf's ruins is located at 5 mins walk from Sigtuna bus station. Its a very old structure that speaks of centuries old history. Excavations around this place suggest the existence of even older structure that goes before 12th century. The Church is surrounded by a grave yard and generally the gates of the ruins are locked so tourists cannot enter but its definitely well preserved.
Sneha G — Google review
Built in the first half of the 12th Century, St Olaf’s Church (S:t Olof) was one of many stone churches erected in Sigtuna to demonstrate not only the wealth and power of the Catholic Church but to send a strong message to ordinary people who might still hold pagan beliefs. Once Sigtuna lost its importance in the late Middle Ages the churches began to fall into decay. Fortunately for us, their ruins add to the wonderful ambiance of this very gorgeous place. Take the time to walk through a structure and touch the stones hewn from rock 900 years ago.

The Tropical Greenhouse, located within the stunning baroque design of the Linnaean Gardens of Uppsala, showcases a diverse array of plants from tropical regions around the world. Visitors can immerse themselves in an environment featuring flora from deserts, rainforests, and savannahs. This 'Winter Garden' offers a warm escape from the cold Nordic climate and is popular among international students.
Really pretty, not to much people! It’s a bit cramped with a wheelchair but not a problem with a manual chair, but some paths could be to narrow for an electric wheelchair. Otherwise a fun experience! Also free for students (and there are small frogs:3)!

A really great collection of tropical plants and some orchids. If you are lucky you could catch a glimpse of the South American poison frogs. They are very small, so you need sharp eyes! The rainforest section is, simply, awesome. A must visit if you are interested in plants.

A must-visit when you go to Uppsala. Beautiful greenhouse with the lotus pond as the highlight. As someone who comes from tropical country, the temperature and humidity feels like home, and it's so nice to see a lot of familiar plants. They also have smaller fish ponds and frogs. A delightful place.

It is trully one of the best Sweden’s greenhouse with so many exotical plants! Worth to visit! And the price is so low, just 50sek/5€/5$. The only thing is that the opening hours can be longer, especially weekends.

An amazing little greenhouse with a great variety of plants and biotopes. Linnaeus would be proud! Friendly staff that are happy to answer questions and offer guided tours throughout the year. Definitely worth a visit if you're into plants, like cute little tree frogs or need somewhere to shelter from the heat of the summer or the cold of the winter!

Uppsala Cathedral, also known as the Domkyrka, is a Gothic-style Lutheran place of worship in Uppsala, Sweden. It was consecrated in 1435 and is one of the most significant religious buildings in the country. The cathedral's construction began in the late 13th century and lasted for about 150 years. It suffered fire damage during the Great Fire of 1702 and underwent remodeling with Renaissance-style architecture.
The cathedral has a great architecture from very past. It feels mesmerizing arriving there and visit. We could not manage to visit inside as we arrived late. But it was a great experience still taking a walk around. There is parking area nearby (not very big though).
Chander V — Google review
Oldest and the most important cathedral in Sweden with a lot of history and it is absolutely huge with 119 meters twin spires dominating the skyline. Graves of great Swedish scientists Linnaeus and Celsius as well as Swedish kings and Queens decorate the floor, vestibules and chapels. The altar, stained glass windows and pulpit are all interesting. At the entrance to the cathedral there is an excellent presentation of the whole history of this cathedral in a chronological fashion as well as a detailed map of various graves, shrines etc. There are lots of Rune stones in the church yard as well. We were in the cathedral while the Sunday mass was going on. We attended the service although it was in Swedish. Magdalene college Oxford choir was visiting and their singing and organ music was ethereal. This place is a must on any visit to Uppsala.

Visiting Uppsala Cathedral was a truly awe-inspiring experience. The grandeur of the Gothic architecture, with its soaring spires and intricate details, immediately captures your attention. Inside, the atmosphere is both majestic and peaceful, filled with beautiful stained glass windows and impressive medieval art. The cathedral’s history is palpable, from royal tombs to centuries-old craftsmanship. It’s a perfect spot for history buffs, architecture lovers, and anyone looking for a serene place to reflect. A must-see when in Uppsala!

A church of the Church of Sweden, the national church, in the Lutheran tradition, Uppsala Cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Uppsala, the primate of Sweden. It is also the burial site of King Eric IX (c. 1120–1160, reigned 1156–1160), who became the patron saint of the nation, and it was the traditional location for the coronation of new Kings of Sweden.

Kungsbergets Leisure Facilities AB

Ski resort

Relaxed ski-in/ski-out resort with dining, a ski school & equipment rentals, plus kids' activities.
After having spent the last couple of pandemic-years away from the slopes of Kungsberget it was nice to be back. The slopes are good for skiers of all kind, from the beginner to the more advanced, but maybe lacks that little extra when it comes to having some challenging or tricky parts for the adventurous skier. For the family oriented Kungsberget is as good as it gets without having to travel further north and up the larger mountains. Getting there from Stockholm is easy and doesn't take longer than a day trip being worth it. We were well impressed by the nice restaurants on offer, but even more impressed by the service at the location. Not only did the folks working at the different "stations" meet up with a happy smile, they were also everywhere to be found. Added to that, there were a good number of places to get warm and rest when needed. We are already looking at renting a cabin or hut for a weekend once the most hectic part of the winter is passed us. We noted there were plenty of new places to stay in, with some more still being built.
K. K — Google review
Room was great, a bit dirty under the beds but nothing too bad. Service was good everywhere except at the Fröken Filipssons where we had to wait excessively just to get our drinks and our food getting cold. The location is amazing and very close to Stockholm which is great. Overall very nice resort.
Victor O — Google review
Very good ski resort for kids and inexperienced skiers. Roughly 2 hour drive from northern Stockholm. Pretty much all accommodations in the area are close to the slopes. Worst part of the resort are food places. Quite high prices for low quality food, did not try the fanciest restaurant however. We were also interested in cross-country skiing, that is not available at the resort but a car drive away
Ynwa1892ification — Google review
Rooms looked nice from outside, but with nice locations some were right on the ski slope. Proces of renting equipment and getting ski pass was well optimized and digitized (have internet). All kings of slopes from children ones conveyer belt to get you up to adult ones with steep inclines and jumps.
Lazar S — Google review
pretty nice slopes and they are maintained okay but def not great. one big issue is a disgusting excuse of a burger that they serve at Karin’s Burgeria. i can positively say that the burgers they serve are the driest block of beef mince i’ve ever eaten. other than that everything else like lifts and all are decent, nothing too special.
Richie L — Google review
A good ski resort with a family focus. In the kids area there are plenty of options to learn from almost no slope to steeper and steeper. The 8 chair lift was no problem with my 3,5 year child since it move slow and steady where you get on and off. Since it's much smaller in size compared to for example Sälen I think the prices are a little to high but.
Matthias T — Google review
It's a good place for kids. Missing better After Ski and bar.

Room was clean and well appointed with everything we needed. The location can't be beat at 10m from the lift. There's almost no service at all though. It wasn't clear where to go or who could help if we'd had a problem.

The Swedish Railway Museum, located in the lively town of Gavle on the coast of the Bothnian Sea, offers a family-friendly experience with its extensive collection of old locomotives and rail cars. The museum, which moved from Stockholm to Gavle in 1970 for more display space, features real trains that visitors can climb inside. Additionally, there is a linesman's cottage on-site.
More interesting bits of history then you might expect. Has the worlds oldest steam locomotive that is restored to running order. Has a picnic area where you can bring your own food, which is odd for a museum, but neat. Well worth a visit. Also boys of all ages love big machines!

This is one of biggest train museum in Sweden. There are absolutely a lot to watch. Take a look at my videos and photos. I didn't expect this much things in the railway museum and it ended up with satisfaction. I'm recommending this place to whoever in love with history of railways. At the end there is a game station kids can play train rides. Outside has a small play area. There is a restaurant area at the entrance. You can have lunch buffet or simple meal there. Washrooms are available. As my experience, I have travelled from Luleå to Kullaberg. In this trip this train museum was a biggest exiting place. It has a lot to see than Örebro castle. örebro castle was a waste of time.Highly recommend train museum.

The experience was amazing, i was expecting a small museum with som dusty trains, but instead i got a drive through swedish railway history from tiny details, to big trains, swedish railway culture , comfort, design. Best 3 hours spent on a saturday. I recomend it, although come early it can get busy , there was a buffe/ restaurang but did not try it. 👌👍
Dario B — Google review
Newly renovated after a very long closed time. Modern showroom of trains from the oldest to the newest and playful things for the kids along the way. It would be good if the showroom exit would be at the end to get a better flow of people but as long as there are not too many people it will work. Excellent outdoor activities for children, especially the mini train that everyone can ride. You can chose to bring your own food or buy in the restaurant, then eat in an old train wagon. Microwave oven is available as well.
Matthias T — Google review
Excellent museum with relaxed feel, lots of information and the opportunity to enter some of the trains on exposition.
Sander — Google review
I had been waiting since 2019 for the museum to reopen! Loved: - The chronological ordering of locomotives, and the corresponding social, technical and organizational aspects. - Concise information boards, videos in Swedish along with English translations. - The large turntable is worth viewing. - Scale models for display. - Kid-friendly(indoor play area, outdoor park, small train ride). Can be improved: - The shop/butik. It needs much more items ranging from fridge magnets to scale models of SJ locomotives and carriages. - While they have covered the history and provided a glimpse of futuristic trains, I don't recall seeing a summary of how train traffic looks today(2010-2024) in terms of freight, passenger and military services. - Turntable is action. It is perhaps the largest turntable in Sweden, and the visitors would love seeing an engine being turned by a single person. - Guided tours in both Swedish and English, even if they decide to charge for the same. - Add another railbus between 1312 and 1512 hours during the peak season. It is a must-visit for railfans, and also for families willing to get a glimpse of trains of past and future. It is undoubtedly one of the top 10 Swedish museums that I have seen till date.

Additionally, visitors can enjoy the amusement park's attractions and even take a dip in the nearby Baltic Sea.
Incredibly well thought out park. I was expecting a theme park similar to Grona Lund, but this was smaller and better quality. The zoo was a great experience, good mix of exotic and farm animals. 10/10 will definitely be back again
Nathan O — Google review
It was a good place, I would recommend more animals perhaps and more chairs to sit in, I know it was many but since it was so many people sitting we really had hard time finding place to sit, all the games were fun too but honestly the guy who hold the bumping cars was really annoying, didn't let our kid to go in because he was literally short for 2cm only and his dad was going with him anyway, but the same son could go on the roller coasters for big kids, like for real, other than that it was a fun day for tbe kids and had so much fun
Bint E — Google review
We visited on a Sunday in October. The park is amazing for kids, especially if they are above 120 cm and at least 6 years of age. There were practically no lines, so the boys really got a lot of rides for the very reasonable entry price. The Halloween decor was great, especially with all the spooky actors walking around. The accessibility with the train from Uppsala is one of the best things. For 39 SEK Mälartåg takes just over an hour and drops you off at the entrance. So smooth.
Bor G — Google review
Was there to see Alphaville and they were brilliant. There was around 9000 visitors at the park and apparently it is alot. 10-30 min wait times for the rides and kiosks ran out of bottled water fast, only alkohol was left. It is a small park, if you bring your kids prepare a bag with refreshments to avoid the insane lines at kiosks. Parking is free for members, around 90-120kr/day depending on where you park. The traffic jam leaving the park was huge but if common sense is used (seems to be lacking in many cases), it aint that bad.
Rotalumis — Google review
Visited during Halloween. We had a wonderful day at the park. The decor is perfect, the attractions are themed and sensational, and the costumed staff were friendly and welcoming. Furuvik has a beautiful structure and several attractions. We spent the day at the park, riding several rides, and the lines weren't too long, with acceptable wait times. Plus, it's located across from a train station. Recommended!
Luciana D — Google review
Although it is a bit far from Stockholm, it is well connected by train and is convenient to access. The advantage is that there are fewer people, so you can enjoy it without waiting in long lines. It is very well decorated for children and the prices are reasonable. If there's anything I regret, it's Parking lots are collected by the day, not by the hour. Who will park for a day?
여행. — Google review
It is small compared to other animal theme park in Sweden. But it is still a good place for kids to enjoy. Unfortunately water park was closed since we visited late summer or early fall.

This is truly one of the better family parks I have visited. I was most impressed by the zoo and its rich content. The animals look healthy and well cared for, which is not always the case in all parks of this species. In addition, children can play here in the amusement park, and then swim in the Baltic Sea. There are also several restaurants and bars on offer, so you certainly won't be hungry if you haven't brought food with you. I definitely recommend visiting this place if you are nearby, you will be able to have quality fun all day.

A very interesting aircraft museum containing mostly Saab fighter jets that were stationed at F15 base from 1946 to 1998. The volunteers here have done a wonderful job of restoring and maintaining the aircraft. You can climb the ladders to look inside the cockpits. They have good displays around the jets to explain all details including the daily operations. It is good for the children as they have aircraft toys to keep them entertained. Unfortunately the simulator was only available at the weekend and I was there on a weekday. You need to book in advance and to check the operating days from their website.

A really nice museum detailing Swedish military aviation at the airbase from when it was established to when it closed down. The volunteers are great and the entrance fee is reasonable. The little gift shop and cafe are nice touches. The flight simulator is definitely recommended - book in advance to be sure of a slot. The exhibitions are nice and well detailed and the historical photos are really good.

Plenty of planes and information about them, a good selection of exhibits too as well as some excellent models of planes through the ages. If your a fan of the earlier days of jet powered flight there is lots to take in. You can really get a sense of what the base was like in its operational days! The gift shop is well stocked too! My only criticism is that parts of the museum are a touch dated and could do with a touch of modernising. This may be subject to taste though. Overall a fun experience!

Wow, wow, wow! The place was recommended to us from the reception at the camping spot. We were asked to go even though the place was closed (off season). But the place still looks amazing and we experienced the most magical forest ever! If you are closeby, it’s a must to go there! It’s not only for children and don’t worry if “the show” is not running.

Trolska Skogen is an absolutely magical place that both children and adults will love. Nestled in the beautiful Swedish forest, it feels like stepping into a fairytale world filled with trolls, mystical creatures, and charming woodland paths. The storytelling throughout the park is creative and engaging, with interactive performances that bring the characters to life in a way that captivates visitors of all ages. Every corner of the forest reveals something new—hidden houses, quirky decorations, and playful surprises that spark imagination. The staff are incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and fully in character, which adds to the overall charm of the experience. It’s not a big park, but it’s the perfect size for a half-day adventure, especially for families with young children. The café offers tasty snacks and drinks, and the surrounding nature is stunning. I highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes since you’ll be walking along forest trails. Trolska Skogen is a wonderful escape from everyday life, where creativity and nature come together beautifully. We had a fantastic time and would definitely come back for more magical memories!

Lovely place for families. Been three times over the past 5 years and my English daughter has enjoyed it aged 5, 6 and 10 - as have the accompanying grown-ups (English and Swedish). It's an engaging adventure trail with acted scenes, characters to talk to and activities to engage with. The story is different each year. The actors are happy to play out their roles in Swedish or English and possibly more, always catering to the children present. It can be a little scary in parts (in a fun way!) but is suitable for young children. You can skip scary bits and the actors are sympathetic. Would definitely recommend.

Wow. This is worth a visit. Really nice adventure with trolls, and such. Must say this a hidden gem and you should really leave the E4 for this.

Great experience for kids and adults alike. Walk through a forrest area with acting and singing performances along the way with talented performers telling a story involving trolls, whitches, elves and other magical creatures. Groups can get fully booked so suggest booking in advance. Fika, ice cream, and lighter meals available.
