Deserts
The White Desert of Kutch is a popular tourist destination in India, known for its vast expanse of white salt desert that becomes visible after monsoon season. The area is particularly popular during sunrise and sunset. Despite its remote location, the desert attracts thousands of domestic tourists every day during peak season. Despite the crowds, the magnanimous size of the desert makes it a soothing and beautiful experience. The cool weather in November only adds to its allure.
A truly mesmerizing and one-of-a-kind experience! The vast expanse of the white salt desert under the open sky is breathtaking, especially during sunset and full moon nights. The Rann Utsav adds vibrant cultural charm with music, food, and crafts. A must-visit for nature lovers and those seeking unique landscapes.
Yogi V — Google review
The Rann of Kutch, located in Gujarat, India, is one of the world’s largest salt deserts. Famous for its breathtaking white landscapes, it transforms into a cultural wonderland during the annual Rann Utsav, showcasing Gujarati art, music, dance, and cuisine. Visitors can enjoy stunning sunsets, moonlit nights over the white sands, and the warm hospitality of local villages. A must-visit destination for nature lovers, photographers, and culture enthusiasts alike.
Ashish D — Google review
A surreal place that hits you the moment you step onto that endless white stretch 🤍✨ The silence, the breeze, and that shimmering glow under the sun make it feel like you’ve landed somewhere completely unreal — one of the rarest landscapes you’ll ever get to experience. The best time to visit is definitely during winters — Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan and early Feb ❄️ That’s when the weather stays pleasant and the salt flats look their absolute best. These months also happen to be the peak season, so expect more crowds, higher demand for stays, and busy evenings, especially during festivals and long weekends. Facilities in and around the area are quite good — clean pathways, viewing points, rest areas, and plenty of options for food, stay, and shopping 🛖🌙 Everything is organised well enough for families, groups, and even solo travellers. Overall, it’s a magical experience — a place that feels peaceful, vast, and unforgettable, and something you should visit at least once in your lifetime ❤️🤍✨
Bhadra M — Google review
The place is beautiful, however due to rains, there is still water and uou can't see the white Rann of salt yet. Nevertheless, beautiful view during full moonlight
Sachiien A — Google review
We visited on 25th Nov 2025. Full of water.. no white dessert due to late monsoon itseems. Not sure why the govt still charging 140rs for each person. 10rs is also a waste. There is work going on still. Plan your visit accordingly
Sindhuja R — Google review
Way better than jaisalmer, please visit White run. You can enjoy plus knowledge and also remembered till death, mesmerising view and also very knowledgeable for astrologers.
CHIRAG R — Google review
We visit here nov 25 last week. There is no white sand for us due to water. Maybe in Dec it's is good time to visit.
Yogesh P — Google review
The endless stretch of white salt under the open sky is surreal and mesmerizing. Whether you visit during sunrise, sunset, or on a full moon night, the desert glows with a beauty that words can’t fully capture. I visited during the Rann Utsav, and the whole setup was vibrant, cultural programs, handicrafts, local food, camel rides, and traditional Kutchi music made it a complete cultural experience. The tent city is well-organized and gives you a mix of luxury and authenticity. If you're a nature lover, photographer, or just someone seeking a peaceful yet unforgettable trip, this place is a must-visit. The Rann of Kutch stays in your heart long after you’ve left.

Sahil R — Google review
Dattatreya temple Kuch, Gujarat The Kalo Dungar is also famous for a 400-year-old Dattatreya temple. Legend says that when Dattatreya walked on the earth, he stopped at the Kalo Dungar and found a band of starving jackals. Being a god, he offered them his body to eat and as they ate, his body continually regenerated itself. Because of this, for the last four centuries, the priest at the temple has prepared a batch of prasad, cooked rice, that is fed to the jackals after the evening aarti. Another, legend has it that there was once a holy man named Lakkh Guru residing at Kala Dungar and worshiping the Lord Dattatreya. He used to feed wild jackals. There came a day when he found he had no food, so he cut off a part of his body and offered it to the jackals, saying, "Le ang!" ("take the body part"). Over the centuries, this got corrupted to "Long".
Nivedita A — Google review
The history of the Dattatreya Temple at Kalo Dungar is rooted in a local legend where Lord Dattatreya offered his own regenerating body to starving jackals. The temple, built about 400 years ago, is a pilgrimage site dedicated to this revered Hindu deity, who is seen as an incarnation of the holy trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. The tradition of the temple priests feeding the jackals with a special offering of rice is still maintained to this day, honoring the miracle of regeneration

Situated in the top most peak of this area called kala dungar. There is a temple for hindu sage datthayhreya, who fed his own body to hungry jackals and born again. Even now that ritual is done. Nice place. Neatly maintained. Peaceful environment.
Sivasankar S — Google review
This is a temple on the top of the Kalo Dungar just before you walk to the last point of the mountain where there is a place to stand and see the beauty. There is parking outside and then as you enter, you come across this temple. It's made for the god Dattatreya and with justb1 idol in it, it serves the much needed simplicity yet the spirituality at this place. There are washrooms, a place to have Prasad, etc. After you go down a few steps ahead of this temple. All the shops start behind the temple and before the view point.
Taral S — Google review
This temple is a sacred place growing in the beauty of the black hill. The surrounding view from there is very beautiful. Sweet voice of bulbul is mesmerizing. Temple and is surrounding is very neat and clean. One can have prasadi in prasad gruh. Few dharmasala rooms available if someone want to stay.
Jigar S — Google review
The temple located on the Black Hill should be ur reason to go here, bcoz the view from the top of the White Desert is just breathtaking. The heavy winds when we visited just made it the perfect spot. Take a camel ride up if u wanna experience it, 50/- per person. U can also take a binoculars on hire and see India s last bridge. We saw a lot of people trying out the local clothes n getting pics clicked. There's some juice and short eats available here. Coming to the temple, it's a 400 Yr old temple, pray here n proceed for the view. The temple also has prasad offering, nothing great just basic. Don't miss this place before going to the White Desert, trust me it'll be worth ur time

Modhera Sun Temple

Mentioned on
3 lists
Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
The Modhera Sun Temple, built in 1027 by Bhimdev of the Solanki dynasty, is a monumental Hindu temple known for its intricate sculptures and sacred reservoir. Similar to the famous Sun Temple at Konark, it was designed for the dawn sun to shine on the image of Surya during the equinox. The temple complex also features Surya Kund, a remarkable step-well with over 100 shrines.
The Modhera Sun Temple in Gujarat is an architectural masterpiece that transports you back to the grandeur of the 11th century. Built by King Bhima I of the Solanki dynasty, this temple is dedicated to Surya, the Sun God, and stands as a stunning example of India’s rich heritage and advanced craftsmanship. The moment you enter, the sight of the magnificent stepwell (Surya Kund) instantly captivates you. The symmetrical steps, intricately carved shrines, and reflections of the temple in the water create a truly divine atmosphere. As you move towards the main temple complex, the carvings on the walls come alive with stories from Hindu mythology—every sculpture has a tale to tell, depicting gods, celestial beings, and scenes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata. The temple’s design is ingeniously aligned with the solar movement—during equinoxes, the first rays of the sun illuminate the sanctum, symbolizing divine energy. Even though the idol no longer remains, the spiritual essence of the place is palpable. The Archaeological Survey of India has done an excellent job in maintaining the site. The lawns are well-kept, signage is clear, and the surroundings are peaceful. The nearby museum offers deeper insights into the temple’s history and Solanki architecture. Modhera is a must-visit for history buffs, architecture lovers, and anyone seeking serenity beyond the usual tourist circuits. Visit early in the morning or during sunset for the most enchanting views. Tip: Don’t miss the evening light and sound show—it beautifully brings the temple’s history to life.

An amazing monument built before 1000 years is a must visit place for everyone. This temple is a perfect example of extreme engineering and technology before 1k years. The entire campus kept neat and clean. The whole structure was built on sand stones and is located right on the tropic of cancer. Do understand the history of this temple with the help of registerd guide which was available there and will charge 500 Rs per group which is quite reasonable. Overall a must must visit place for every Indian.
Brijesh K — Google review
My recent visit to the Modhera Sun Temple in Gujarat was nothing short of mesmerizing — a journey through time and artistry. Dedicated to Surya, the Sun God, this 11th-century masterpiece was built by King Bhima I of the Solanki dynasty and stands as a testament to India’s architectural brilliance. As I walked through the temple complex, the symmetry of the grand Surya Kund (stepwell), the intricate carvings on every pillar and wall, and the play of sunlight illuminating the sanctum left me in awe. The temple, aligned perfectly so that the first rays of the sun touch the idol of Surya during equinoxes, reflects the advanced astronomical understanding of that era. Even without the deity now, the spiritual energy of the place is palpable. Surrounded by serene landscapes and the gentle hum of history, Modhera Sun Temple is not just a monument — it’s a poetic fusion of science, devotion, and stone craftsmanship that every traveller should experience. Unfortunately, I could not wait for the late evening light-and-sound show as there was just too much time to wait, too much crowd and too much distance to cover back to Ahmedabad. Also, the weather was super hot! But the show, shot by a tourist is available on YouTube. It is one of the best shows at heritage sites. So, if you plan to visit Modhera, it will be beneficial to visit it around 5 pm giving you enough time to see the temple till the 7pm show. The Sarkari Archaeological Museum here is super sad though!
Pushkar L — Google review
A truly mesmerizing and peaceful place to visit! The temple stands as a reminder of how advanced and artistic our ancestors were. The carvings are detailed, every pillar and wall tells a story — it’s hard to believe something built over 1,000 years ago can still look this stunning 🤯. The highlight here is the Surya Kund (stepwell) 💧— beautifully designed with hundreds of small shrines all around. The reflection of the temple in the water during sunrise or sunset looks magical 🌅. You can sit near the steps and just soak in the calmness; it feels timeless. The whole area is clean and well maintained 🌿, with greenery around and benches to rest. It’s quiet, peaceful, and perfect for photography 📸 or just a relaxing walk. 🚗 Parking is available nearby, and basic facilities like restrooms and drinking water are there, though could be improved a bit. ⭐ Overall, an amazing heritage site that makes you proud of Indian architecture and culture. A must-visit spot if you’re anywhere near Mehsana or Ahmedabad.
Bhadra M — Google review
The Sun Temple at Modhera is truly one of Gujarat’s most breathtaking heritage sites. The stunning stepped tank and the incredibly detailed stone carvings create an atmosphere that feels like stepping into history. The architecture is precise, graceful, and filled with artistic stories that show the brilliance of ancient craftsmanship. The temple complex has a peaceful and calming vibe, with plenty of open space to walk around and admire its beauty from different angles. The sunlight beautifully highlights the carvings throughout the day, especially during early morning or late evening, making it a dream spot for photography and quiet reflection. Overall, the Sun Temple stands as a proud symbol of our culture and creativity. The area is well-maintained, staff members are polite, and the whole experience inspires curiosity and admiration for India’s rich past. A perfect place for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys serene and meaningful places!

After the Ranaki Vav in Patan, if you want to see another amazing piece of Solanki architecture, then the Modhera Sun Temple near Mehsana is a must-visit place. Built by King Bhimdev I in the 11th century, this temple is dedicated to Surya Narayana and you will be mesmerized by its carvings. ✨ Temple Features: Stunning Architecture: The temple is divided into three main parts: the magnificent Surya Kund (Ramkund) with 108 deris, the 52-pillared Sabha Mandap and the main Sanctum. Historical Carvings: The exquisite carvings of Ramayana-Mahabharata episodes, gods and goddesses on the walls of this temple give it the glory of being the 'Khajuraho of Gujarat'. Nearby Attractions: The Modheshwari Mata Temple, located near the Sun Temple, is also worth a visit. Special Guide for Tourists: This temple is located in the inner part of Modhera village. Public transport may charge a higher fare to reach here. Kind Request: To avoid this hassle, tourists are requested to bring their own personal vehicle, so that the visit is easy and economically convenient. If you use public transport, then get the exact information about the correct fare from the locals before deciding on the fare. Conclusion: A wonderful blend of history, sculpture and religious faith is the Modhera Sun Temple. This is a place that showcases the beauty and culture of Gujarat.

A stunning 11th-century Sun Temple built during the reign of Bhima I of the Chaulukya dynasty. Located about 100 km from Ahmedabad (approx. 2-hour drive), it's a beautifully preserved heritage site. Timings: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM Tickets: Available at the entrance (nominal fee, cash preferred). The Surya Kund, intricate carvings, and temple layout are mesmerizing-especially during rains when the golden sandstone shines brilliantly. Nakki Lake is a scenic spot surrounded by a walking trail. From the parking, you need to walk about 200–300 meters to reach the lake, or you can take a horse ride. The place is calm and nice for a stroll, paddle boating, or just sitting on the benches around the lake. There’s also a market nearby, but it’s mostly food stalls and ice cream shops with a few local items. A peaceful place to relax, though not much beyond boating and eating.

Photography is not allowed, and even mobile phones have to be submitted outside, which actually helps you stay more present and focused. It stays naturally cool inside, and the atmosphere feels very calm and spiritual. You need to remove your shoes outside before entering, so be prepared for that too. Rating: 4/5 Time spent: Around 30–40 minutes Best for: Families, art lovers, or anyone looking for peace and a break from the crowd.

Dilwara Temple is an ancient Jain temple, famous for its stunning marble carvings and peaceful atmosphere. It’s one of the most important places of worship for the Jain community. Phones, cameras, smartwatches, and food are not allowed inside, which helps keep the sanctity intact. Entry timings are different—Jains can enter from 7 AM, while visitors can enter between 12 PM and 5 PM. A must-visit in Mount Abu for both its beauty and spiritual feel.

Dilwara Jain Temple, Mount Abu Dilwara Jain Temple is one of the finest examples of ancient Indian craftsmanship and devotion. Built between the 11th and 13th century by the Chalukya dynasty, the temple is world-famous for its marble carvings, which look more like lacework than stone. Every pillar, arch and ceiling reflects unmatched detailing and dedication. The temple complex is situated on a mountain bed, offering a picturesque view of Mount Abu with a serene, spiritual ambience. The calm surroundings add to its divinity and make the visit truly blissful. During my visit, I had a brief exchange with a local store owner outside the premises and later offered prayers at the small Ganesh temple located near the entrance. It felt humble and peaceful. Photography and mobiles are officially not allowed inside, but I managed to carry mine — Om Shanti. A visit to Dilwara Temple is not just a tour of architecture, but a quiet spiritual experience wrapped in marvellous artistry.

Oh my God, what an amazing experience. You have to see it to believe it. Step into a world carved from pure white marble — the Dilwara Jain Temples near Mount Abu. Every pillar, dome, and arch tells a story of devotion and divine artistry from the 11th century. Serene, sacred, and stunningly detailed, this hidden gem in the Aravalli hills is where spiritual grace meets timeless craftsmanship — a masterpiece that truly feels sculpted by faith. 1. The Dilwara Temples are a group of five marble temples built between the 11th and 13th centuries, dedicated to various Jain Tirthankaras. 2. They are world-renowned for their extraordinary marble craftsmanship — often said to be more intricate than even the Taj Mahal. 3. The Vimal Vasahi Temple, dedicated to Lord Adinath, is the oldest and most magnificent among the five. 4. The Ranakpur-like detailed carvings on ceilings, doorways, pillars, and domes depict scenes from Jain mythology and everyday life. 5. The Ranga Mandap (central dome) features beautifully carved figures of gods, goddesses, and dancers in perfect symmetry. 6. Every inch of the temple — from the ceilings to the pillars — displays divine geometry and delicate artistry in white marble. 7. The Luna Vasahi Temple, built by two brothers in honor of Lord Neminath, is famed for its stunning marble canopy and elaborate carvings. 8. Despite their grandeur, the temples maintain a spiritual calm and simplicity, reflecting Jain ideals of purity and devotion. 9. Photography is strictly prohibited inside, to preserve the sanctity and artistry of the temple interiors. 10. Surrounded by the lush Aravalli hills, the temples stand as a timeless example of Jain devotion, architectural mastery, and meditative peace. There is a new RADISSON resort which has come up in Mount Abu and DELWARA temple is just 6 mins away from the resort. We stayed here. ..!
SANJEEV J — Google review
Dilwara Jain Temples are undoubtedly the crown jewel of Mount Abu. The marble carvings are breathtaking, and the craftsmanship from the 11th–13th century truly reflects the height of Jain artistry. Every inch of the temple interiors—from ceilings to pillars—showcases intricate detailing that’s both spiritual and architectural brilliance. However, visiting comes with strict rules that tourists should know beforehand: 🚫 Things to Know Before You Go: Shorts/Half pants are not allowed for anyone over 5 years of age—entry is denied unless you wear full-length clothing. Only Jains are allowed inside the main Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum) for puja or darshan; others can only view from outside. Mobile phones and electronics are strictly prohibited and must be submitted at the counter. > A ₹50 fee is charged per family for mobile deposit, which is non-refundable. ✅ Pros: World-class marble carvings and historical Jain art Very calm and spiritual atmosphere Well-maintained despite high footfall ❌ Cons: Strict dress code and religious restrictions may disappoint some tourists No photography allowed inside ₹50 mobile submission fee may feel unnecessary --- 📝 Final Verdict Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) The Dilwara Jain Temples are a must-visit for art, architecture, and peace. But make sure you are dressed appropriately, respect the temple rules, and come prepared for a restricted experience if you're not a follower of Jainism. They don't allow phones inside the temple.

Every inch of the marble architecture speaks of devotion and craftsmanship beyond time. Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace, also known as Monsoon Mahal, is a stunning white marble palace perched on a high hill in Udaipur. Built by Maharana Sajjan Singh of the Mewar Dynasty, this palace offers breathtaking panoramic views of Fatehsagar Lake and the surrounding countryside.
I visited the Monsoon Palace in Udaipur yesterday and it was great. This is located around 20mins from the city centre and easily accessible using taxis. Entry for foreigners cost INR560 + parking for car on the top cost INR360 and must be bought at the gate. The mountain top location provides amazing views over the lakes and Udaipur which was one of the reasons for the visit. The fort palace is beautiful, well preserved but smaller compared to forts like Amer fort and also hosts a museum. It was a quiet and peaceful visit, highly recommended!
Sanka I — Google review
So I visited the Monsoon Palace recently, and honestly, it’s one of those places that’s more about the view than the palace itself. It’s located on a high hill a bit outside the main city, and once you reach the top, you can literally see all of Udaipur — the lakes, City Palace, and everything else. The view is amazing, especially around sunset or during monsoon when it’s cloudy. Getting there is a bit of a ride though. The road is quite steep and curvy, and it takes around 15–25 minutes to reach the top if you’re going by car or scooty. The entry fee is ₹170 per person, and they also charge ₹300 for cars and ₹70 for two-wheelers. There’s a cab service from the base too, around ₹120 per person if you don’t want to drive up yourself. Once you’re at the top, there’s a small parking area, and you have to walk for about 5 minutes to reach the palace. There’s a small café near the palace that sells basic snacks like samosas, puffs, tea, and cold drinks — nothing fancy but it’s good enough if you just want a quick bite or some water. The palace itself is okay-ish, not very grand or well-maintained, but that’s not really the main attraction. The views from up there totally steal the show. You can see the whole city spread out below — it’s especially beautiful during sunset. Overall, I’d say it’s worth going once, mainly for the views and the drive. Don’t expect a super fancy palace, but if you enjoy scenic spots, it’s a nice little trip.

Breathtaking Views & Royal Vibes – A Must Visit in Udaipur! Monsoon Palace (Sajjangarh Palace) is one of the best viewpoints in Udaipur. The drive up the hill is scenic, and once you reach the top, the panoramic view of the entire city, lakes, and Aravalli hills is absolutely stunning—especially during sunset. The sky turns golden, and the breeze makes the experience unforgettable. The palace itself has a charming old-world feel. It’s not heavily decorated inside, but the location and atmosphere make it worth the visit. The area is well maintained, and there are plenty of spots to sit, relax, and take pictures. Entry fees are reasonable, and there are basic facilities available. Parking is organized, but it can get crowded during peak hours, so arriving a little early is a good idea. Overall, Monsoon Palace is a perfect place for photography, romantic views, and enjoying Udaipur’s natural beauty. Highly recommended—especially during monsoon and sunset! 🌅🏰🌿
Akash G — Google review
beautiful spot with one of the best sunset views in Udaipur. The drive up the hill is scenic, and once you reach the top, you get a breathtaking panoramic view of the city, lakes, and surrounding hills. It’s especially nice during or after monsoon when everything looks green and fresh. On the downside, there isn’t much to see inside the palace — it’s more about the view than the structure itself. The entry fee plus vehicle charge can feel a bit high, and the road uphill is narrow, so it’s better to go with a local driver. Also, there’s limited food or water available at the top, so carrying your own bottle is a good idea. Overall, it’s a great place for sunset lovers and photography, but go mainly for the view, not the palace interiors.

Breathtaking Views and Royal Charm Above the Aravallis! Our visit to Monsoon Palace (Sajjangarh Fort) was truly memorable! Perched high on a hilltop, the palace offers one of the best panoramic views of Udaipur city, Fateh Sagar Lake, and the surrounding Aravalli Hills. The palace itself has a simple yet elegant architecture that reflects royal charm and history. Though the interiors are minimal, the real highlight is the location and the spectacular scenery it offers in every direction. The ride to the top can be steep and narrow at places, but the view at the end makes it all worthwhile. There’s also a small café and a few viewing points where you can relax and enjoy the cool breeze. Entry tickets are reasonably priced, and parking is available near the base. A tip: Visit in the late afternoon to enjoy the sunset views. Overall, Monsoon Palace is a must-visit attraction in Udaipur for its serene atmosphere, stunning vistas, and a glimpse into royal history. A perfect spot for photographers, couples, family and anyone who loves nature and scenic views!

The palace architecture is impressive, and the sunset views are simply spectacular. Google Maps navigation was easy. A must-visit attraction in Udaipur. Highly recommend!"
Inderpreet S — Google review
Named after Maharana Sajjan Singh, the palace was completed in 1884. It was initially planned as an ambitious nine-story astronomical observatory to track monsoon clouds, reflecting the Maharana's keen interest in science. Perched atop Bansdara Hill, the white marble palace showcases a beautiful blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. Its towering turrets, domed structures, and detailed craftsmanship create a majestic silhouette against the Aravalli skyline. The interior features a large central courtyard and marble pillars that are intricately carved with exquisite floral and leaf motifs. Although historically used as a monsoon retreat and hunting lodge, the focus remains on its structural grandeur rather than elaborate ornamentation. A key functional aspect of the palace is its ingenious rainwater harvesting system, designed to capture and store water underground. This sophisticated mechanism sustained the palace's needs during the dry season atop the hill. Panoramic Viewing Experience The palace’s strategic elevation offers perhaps the most spectacular panoramic views of Udaipur, including Lake Pichola, Fateh Sagar Lake, and the surrounding countryside. It is globally famous for its breathtaking sunsets, which bathe the white structure in a golden glow.

Lake Pichola, an artificial freshwater lake in Udaipur, Rajasthan, offers boat rides and is home to several islands with palaces. Built in 1362, it was initially intended to meet the city's water and irrigation needs. The lake has four islands including Arsi villa & Jag Niwas, which houses a small palace and a sanctuary for bird watching.
It’s a very scenic and beautiful lake in Udaipur. One of the must visit places. It is near gangaur ghat and Karni Mata temple. You can also do boating but the cost is 800/- per person. It is near city palace for which the entry is too costly which is not worth it. You can come here to relax but avoid the boat ride and the palace visit, you’re not missing much. It can get crowded during the season. There are multiple shops nearby and chats also. Very peaceful at nights.

One of the most beautiful palace I have ever visited. It's very magnificent and well maintained. The museum has lot of information. The weapons used during those days, the paintings, dress and culture all are very well preserved. It's a must visit place. There are authorised guides at the entrance please hire one for 500 to get the detailed information about the palace. Do not exit from the exit gate which you will need to pay 50 more and have to take a boat ride which is way expensive instead exit from the entry gate where there are lot of shopping options. There are is also authentic Rajasthani Thali available inside the palace which is good and reasonable.

Very long queue both for tickets and entry. Online option is not easily found on the web. Some of the performances were good but some very average, specially the duet snake dance performers, they were both doing their own thing ,no co-ordination and appeared to be very casual. The group dances were good. Overall seemed a little like a tourist trap

Bagore ki haveli offers you 2 kinds of experiences, one is the rich history through its museum and the beautiful view and sunset that you can catch from it's jharokhaas and windows. And the other one is ofcourse the dharohar dance show that you cannot miss at any cost. Book the tickets beforehand and buy another ticket for your camera as it's worth it. I went there thrice, and each time it had something new to offer.

Bagore Ki Haveli is a beautifully maintained heritage haveli located near Gangaur Ghat on Lake Pichola. The entry ticket is ₹60, which makes it a very budget-friendly attraction. You can explore the entire haveli in about 30–45 minutes. Inside, you’ll see old Rajasthani rooms, colorful glasswork, jharokhas, traditional costumes, utensils, masks, turbans, and artwork, which show how people lived in the old Mewar period. It’s also a great place for photography, with beautiful courtyards and mirror work. If you want to watch the traditional folk dance and puppet show, there is a separate ticket for the Dharohar Cultural Show held in the evening. The folk dance, music, and puppet performance offer a wonderful glimpse into Rajasthan’s cultural traditions. Bagore Ki Haveli was built in the 18th century by Amar Chand Badwa, the prime minister of Mewar. Later, it was used by members of the royal family, including Maharana Shakti Singh of Bagore. The haveli has more than 100 rooms, courtyards, and beautifully carved balconies. After years of neglect, it was restored by the West Zone Cultural Centre, which turned it into a museum showcasing Mewar’s heritage. A nice, peaceful heritage spot with affordable entry, perfect for a short visit. Great for learning about old Rajasthani culture and also for enjoying the evening folk dance show.

If you want to witness the full culture of Udaipur, the intricacies, the preserved details, then visit this gem of a place. But pay attention for it is the sanctum sanctorum of the godman of Mewar, Thakur Amar Chand Badwa. Inside there are chambers dark, dusty, classy and machiavellian. Four Maharanas were outclassed, outstrategized, and out-aestheticised by one Pradhan who built a temple to himself and called it home - Bagore Ki Haveli.

The Ranakpur Jain Temple, located in Udaipur, is a 15th-century white-marble temple with grand columns, halls and cupolas adorned with intricate carvings of deities. The temple boasts stunning architecture and a rich history that makes it a must-visit destination for both tourists and the religiously-inclined. Visitors are allowed to take pictures inside the temple with a ticket purchase.
I recently visited the Ranakpur Jain Temple (Feb25), a place that had been on my bucket list for years — and it exceeded every expectation. This is, without a doubt, one of the most breathtaking places I have ever experienced in India. The moment you step inside, you are transported into a world of pure artistry and spiritual calm. The temple’s architecture is nothing short of miraculous — 1,444 intricately carved marble pillars, each with a unique design. You could spend hours wandering through the halls, admiring the flawless craftsmanship. The delicate detailing on the ceilings, domes, and walls is so intricate that it’s hard to believe it was all created centuries ago without modern tools. What impressed me most was the serenity. Despite the number of visitors, the temple felt peaceful and meditative. Sunlight filtering through the marble lattice work created an almost magical play of light and shadow, enhancing the sense of divine beauty. The audio guide added great value to my visit, offering not only historical insights but also explanations of the carvings and the core principles of Jainism. It made the entire experience even more meaningful. A quick tip — photography is allowed inside with a ticket, and it’s worth every rupee because every corner of this temple feels like a masterpiece. Some sacred areas are photo-restricted, which is understandable and respectful. Ranakpur is slightly off the main tourist trail, but that’s part of its charm. The scenic drive through the Aravalli hills only adds to the experience, and arriving here feels like uncovering a hidden gem. In short, this is not just a temple — it’s a living museum of devotion and artistry, and a must-visit for anyone exploring Rajasthan.

We visited Ranakpur Jain Temple recently, and it’s a stunning place! The intricate marble carvings and grand architecture are breathtaking, with every pillar telling a story. The peaceful vibe inside is perfect for reflection, and the surrounding greenery adds to the serene atmosphere. The priests were kind and shared fascinating details about the temple’s history, making the visit special. There’s a small canteen nearby with tasty, simple snacks we enjoyed. However, we faced an issue when a security lady denied us entry, assuming we were non-Indian just because we weren’t fluent in Hindi. It was frustrating but resolved after explaining. Despite this, Ranakpur’s beauty and spirituality are worth visiting.

Ranakpur Jain Derasar is truly one of the most magnificent temples in India and a must-visit for anyone exploring Rajasthan. Built in the 15th century under the patronage of Dharna Shah, the temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Adinath and stands as one of the finest examples of Jain architecture. The nearest railway station is Falna, about an hour’s drive away, making it quite accessible. The temple is famous for its 1,444 intricately carved marble pillars, each one unique — no two are the same. Photography inside the temple is allowed with a ₹100 ticket, and if you prefer not to carry your phone, there’s a locker facility for ₹10. However, I highly recommend carrying at least one phone or camera — the carvings and architecture are absolutely worth capturing. Women are required to cover their heads with a dupatta before entering; if you forget to bring one, the temple provides it, which is a thoughtful gesture. Most visitors only explore the main derasar, but make sure to wander around the entire complex — that’s where the true charm lies. There are also a few smaller derasars within the premises, and right outside, you’ll find the beautiful Sun Temple, which is worth a quick visit. The Bhojanshala serves simple yet delicious satvik food for around ₹100 per person, and it’s one of the best meals you’ll find. For those planning to stay overnight, the Dharamshala offers neat and clean rooms at about ₹500 per night, making it a great budget-friendly option. Overall, Ranakpur Jain Derasar offers peace, beauty, and spiritual grace — a perfect blend of devotion and artistry. A definite must-visit if you’re in Rajasthan!

Ranakpur Temple is an architectural gem tucked away in the Aravalli hills, surrounded by lush greenery and scenic views. Known for its spectacular marble work, it’s one of the most impressive heritage structures in Rajasthan and a must-visit for anyone interested in art, architecture, or history. The temple complex features over 1,400 intricately carved marble pillars, and remarkably, no two are the same. The attention to detail across the ceilings, domes, and corridors is simply incredible. Natural light filters in through the carved stone latticework, adding to the beauty and calm of the space. The layout is vast, with multiple interconnected halls, courtyards, and stairways — you can easily spend a few hours just soaking it all in. Do note that photography is only allowed after 12 PM, and the same applies to audio guides. Before noon, visitors are required to submit their mobile phones at the entry point. This is strictly enforced, so plan your visit accordingly. There is a small entry fee for tourists and an additional fee for photography. The temple also has a canteen offering simple vegetarian meals and refreshments. Parking is available, and the road leading to the site is scenic but slightly narrow and winding. Plan your visit after 12 PM if you want to take photos or use the audio guide. Avoid peak hours if you want a quieter experience. The temple complex is expansive — take your time to explore and look closely at the detailing.

Ranakpur Jain Temple is a hidden gem that feels like stepping into a stone‑carved prayer hall. Set against the rugged hills of Rajasthan’s Pali district, the white marble complex sprawls over 48,000 sq ft and boasts 1,444 exquisitely detailed pillars—each one a unique lattice of lotus‑petal , elephants. The beautiful carvings, illuminated by the sun, create a play of light and shadow that feels almost surreal. A short walk around the temple grounds offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills, making it a perfect spot for both spiritual reflection and photo‑ops. In short, Ranakpur is a masterpiece of devotion and craftsmanship.

🌿 Ranakpur Jain Temple — A Marble Miracle in the Aravalli Hills Hidden amidst the quiet valleys between Udaipur and Mount Abu, the Ranakpur Jain Temple stands as one of India’s greatest testaments to devotion and craftsmanship. This 15th-century masterpiece, dedicated to Lord Adinath, the first Jain Tirthankara, is not just a temple — it’s a living work of art that blurs the line between the divine and the earthly. ✨ A Timeless Story of Faith and Artistry The story of Ranakpur Temple dates back to the 15th century, when a Jain businessman named Dharna Shah had a divine vision of a celestial chariot. Moved by his dream, he decided to create a temple that mirrored this heavenly vision on earth. With the support of Rana Kumbha, the ruler of Mewar (from whom the place derives its name), construction began. It took nearly 50 years and the labor of countless artisans to bring this vision to life. 🏛️ A Marvel of Marble and Light At first glance, Ranakpur looks less like a temple and more like a delicate sculpture that somehow expanded into a vast complex. The temple covers an area of 48,000 square feet, built entirely from gleaming white marble that changes color with the light of the day — from creamy gold at sunrise to soft ivory by sunset. The interior is a labyrinth of 1,444 marble pillars, each carved uniquely — no two are alike. Some bear intricate floral patterns, while others depict gods, dancers, and mythical figures. The detailing is so precise that even after five centuries, the carvings look as fresh as if chiseled yesterday. Stand in the main assembly hall, and you’ll notice something fascinating — no matter where you stand, the pillars never block your view of the main deity. It’s a subtle architectural marvel that reflects both mathematical genius and spiritual intent. Look up, and the ceiling seems alive — layered with concentric rings of lotus motifs, geometric designs, and figures so finely carved that they seem to float in marble. The light filtering through lattice windows adds a dreamlike aura to the hall, creating an atmosphere of tranquil divinity. ⸻ The temple follows the Jain principles of non-violence, purity, and peace, and visitors are gently reminded to maintain silence and remove their shoes before entering. Photography inside the temple is restricted — not just to protect the artwork but to encourage visitors to truly see with their eyes and hearts, not just their cameras. There’s a stillness here that makes time feel irrelevant. For many, Ranakpur is not just a monument; it’s a spiritual experience — a reminder of the divine potential in human creativity. ⸻ 📍 Exploring the Complex The main Chaumukha Temple is accompanied by smaller temples dedicated to Parshvanath, Neminath, and Surya (the Sun God). The Surya Temple, with its ornate carvings of the sun god riding his chariot, is particularly striking. Don’t miss the detailed carvings on the outer walls, which depict celestial beings, elephants, and mythical scenes — each corner of the temple rewards patient eyes. Spend time wandering slowly; the more you look, the more beauty reveals itself. ⸻ 🕰️ Best Time to Visit Ranakpur The best time to visit Ranakpur is between October and March, when the weather is pleasant, with temperatures ranging between 10°C and 25°C. The cool winter months allow you to explore comfortably and truly appreciate the marble’s glow under soft sunlight. Avoid the summer months (April–June), when the heat can be harsh, though mornings and evenings still retain some charm. Monsoon (July–September) paints the Aravallis lush green, making the journey to Ranakpur exceptionally scenic — a photographer’s delight. Temple timings: • Open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. Pay fees, take your mobile for photography however large professional cameras have got some restrictions. Lockers available for your personal belongings.

Must place to visit for all Jain pilgrims. Food serve in Dharmshala was excellent. Nice example of excellent art & craft. Very positive vibes after entering.

This temple is really the highlight of the region. It’s a true hidden gem that photos cannot capture—the beauty and magnificence of the place go far beyond images. The energy is very intense; it took us a while to settle in and vibrate in its frequency. Please try to spend a long time here, at least a few hours—our visit was very short, and we somehow actually regret staying so little. This place is a buffer zone between the physical and the spectral realms, a true masterpiece and a sacred place in every sense.

Kumbhalgarh Fort, a 15th-century hilltop fortress located 84 kilometers north of Udaipur, is a UNESCO-listed site and the birthplace of Mewar's legendary king, Maharana Pratap. Surrounded by a massive 36km-long perimeter wall, the fort was built by Rana Kumbha and is considered the second most important citadel in the Mewar region.
I visited Kumbhalgarh Fort recently, and as someone from the Mewar lineage of Shishodia Rajput, it felt deeply personal. The fort’s massive walls and grand architecture are awe-inspiring, standing proud as a testament to our heritage. Walking through the gates, I felt connected to the bravery of Maharana Pratap and our ancestors. The views of the Aravalli hills are stunning, especially at sunset, and the temples inside add a spiritual touch. The guides were knowledgeable, sharing stories that brought history alive. Nearby stalls offered tasty local snacks we enjoyed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Incredible Historical Experience at Kumbhalgarh Fort! Visiting Kumbhalgarh Fort was an absolutely amazing experience! The moment you enter, you can feel the royal and historical vibes of Rajasthan. The fort is incredibly well-maintained and full of fascinating architecture — massive gates, beautiful palaces, intricate carvings, and the breathtaking 36 km long wall, which is the second longest in the world after the Great Wall of China! The view from the top is simply spectacular — you can see the entire Aravalli range and the green valleys all around. It’s a perfect place for photography lovers and history enthusiasts alike. I also loved exploring the different temples inside the fort; each one has its own charm and story. The fort area is clean, the local guides are very informative, and the route to reach there is scenic with winding roads and hills. Visiting during sunset is highly recommended — the golden light on the fort looks magical! Overall, Kumbhalgarh Fort is a must-visit for anyone traveling in Rajasthan. It truly showcases the pride, courage, and grandeur of Rajput history. I would love to visit again! 📍 Highly recommended for history lovers, photographers, and anyone who enjoys exploring heritage sites.

Kumbhalgarh Fort is a majestic 15th-century fortress in the Aravalli Hills of Rajasthan, built by Rana Kumbha. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is most famous for its 36-kilometer-long defensive wall, often called the "Great Wall of India," which is the second longest in the world. Perched 1,100 meters above sea level, its strategic location and rugged topography made it virtually impregnable, serving as a vital refuge for the Mewar rulers in times of war. Inside its walls, the fort complex includes over 360 ancient temples and the stunning Badal Mahal, or "Palace of Clouds," which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. It also holds deep sentimental value as the birthplace of the legendary warrior king, Maharana Pratap. As a fort it is mysterious, this fort cannot seen from ground, when you cross Halla Pol after few meters from there the fort is visible. Except Great Wall and Mahara Pratap birthplace, there is nothing. Museum is closed. Don't take guide, they will charge you 750 for 4 person and also provide some misinformation about museum. Entrance fee is 40 rupees for Indian and 600 for foreigners. Parking is infront of Hanuman Pol. All Historical Artifacts are kept in City Palace Udaipur. So, little bit disappointed.

Visiting Kumbhalgarh Fort with my family was an absolutely goosebumps moment! Standing before this massive World Heritage Site, surrounded by the Aravalli hills, you can instantly feel the power, pride and grandeur of Rajasthan’s history. The fort is truly majestic, built by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century, it’s one of the strongest and most beautiful hill forts in India. The sheer size of the walls stretching over 36 km, often called the “Great Wall of India” is inspiring. It’s hard to believe this was all built centuries ago without modern tools. As we climbed up through the gates and pathways, the views kept getting better. From the top, you get a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding hills and forests, it’s the kind of sight that gives you goosebumps and fills you with pride in India’s heritage. The fort’s architecture, temples and palaces inside are beautifully preserved, especially the Badal Mahal, which offers stunning views and a glimpse into royal life. Entry tickets are reasonably priced (₹50 for Indian visitors and ₹200 for foreigners) and there’s ample parking near the entrance. The fort also hosts a light and sound show in the evening, which we highly recommend if you want to experience the fort’s history come alive in a magical way. Overall, Kumbhalgarh Fort is not just a monument t’s an emotion. The scale, history and scenic beauty make it one of the most unforgettable places to visit in Rajasthan. A must-see for every traveler who loves heritage, architecture and the feeling of standing in the footsteps of history!

Kumbhalgarh Fort is a majestic 15th-century fortress in the Aravalli Hills of Rajasthan, built by Rana Kumbha. Best time to visit-in the evening an hour before sunset.

It was fabulous. The fort is preserved really well. It makes you travel back in history as all the fort is still present except some part of it. The fort is very colorful and it has a very good vibe to it. I will recommend people to visit it in winters and the weather when fog is there cause it will just enhance the beauty of that place. It is a must visit place for tourists.

Built in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha, Kumbhalgarh Fort is one of Rajasthan’s most magnificent and well-preserved hill forts. It’s surrounded by an incredible 35 km long wall, often called the Great Wall of India — the second longest continuous wall in the world after the Great Wall of China, and still remarkably intact. The fort’s design is ingenious — it’s visible only from around 200 meters away, blending perfectly into the surrounding Aravalli hills. The first gate is Halla Pol, and about half a kilometer ahead is Hanuman Pol, marked by an idol of Lord Hanuman. The fort first becomes visible halfway between these two gates. After entering Hanuman Pol, you’ll see the ticket window ahead — entry is ₹40 for Indian adults. From there, you proceed through the main gate, Ram Pol, which leads into the main complex. Inside Ram Pol, two paths diverge — the left path takes you uphill towards Badal Mahal, while the right path leads to the temples within the complex. It’s best to climb the fort first while you have energy and enthusiasm, and visit the temples on your way down. On the way up, you’ll pass through Bhairon Pol, Nimboo Pol, Chaugan Pol, Pagda Pol, and Ganesh Pol, before reaching Badal Mahal, which offers breathtaking panoramic views. It takes about 3 hours to comfortably explore the fort, enjoy the views, and take pictures. Spare some extra time if you wish to explore the surrounding temples, as they’re spread across the lower areas. Notable temples include Neelkanth Mahadev, Vedi Temple, Parshvanath Jain, and Ganesh Temple. I also went up to Bawan Devri, a very ancient Jain temple located a bit farther inside — totally worth it. From there, I climbed onto the fort wall and walked along it, which was an amazing and memorable experience. Kumbhalgarh is also the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the great Rajput warrior. With its massive walls, scenic views, and historic charm, it’s truly a must-visit fort in Rajasthan.

ShreeNathji Temple is an old heritage-style temple with beautiful, classic architecture that reflects its ancient charm. Many parts of the temple still have that timeless, traditional look, which makes it a peaceful and spiritual place to visit. We also did some shopping nearby — the prices were quite reasonable. After our darshan, we tried the kheer, which cost only ₹20. It was thick, creamy, and absolutely delicious — a must-try for anyone who loves sweets! We wanted to explore more, but heavy rainfall started, so we had to cut our visit short. It was our first visit to ShreeNathji Temple, and we’ve attached some pictures to share a glimpse of the experience.

Yes, Shreenathji is a form of Lord Krishna, specifically representing the seven-year-old child form of Krishna lifting the Govardhan hill❤️. Ancient temple about 50 km from Udaipur . Very old temple situated in gullies hence lot of unclean atmosphere with chaotic temple timings . Not sure of timings it changes every day . Brokers bargain for sure and special Darshan but cheats . Powerful vibes felt and appreciated . Got to manage in better way. Car needs to be parked a km away , travel in auto and then walk for 500 meters in narrow lanes and unstable road with rubbles . Can see the big idol of shive near parking and The Krishna flute art . Goverdhan Giri Krishna is pretty nice

Umaid Bhawan Museum, located in Jodhpur city, is a popular tourist spot and one of the best attractions in the area. The museum is housed within a portion of the majestic Umaid Bhawan Palace, with other parts serving as a luxurious hotel and residence for the royal family. It showcases an impressive collection of antiques that belonged to the maharajas and displays intricate artwork, providing insight into the history of the Suryvanshi dynasty.
Visited Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum in Jodhpur — a beautiful glimpse into the royal heritage of Rajasthan. The museum showcases royal artifacts, vintage furniture, clocks, and photographs that tell the story of Jodhpur’s royal family and the making of this grand palace. The interiors are elegant, and every corner reflects classic art-deco design. Even though only a part of the palace is open to the public, the section we explored was well maintained and full of interesting displays and the overall vibe of the place feels truly royal. A must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates history, architecture, and heritage.

A beautiful and grand modern palace that still houses the royal family of Jodhpur. Only a small section of the palace is open to the public as a museum, but it’s well-maintained and gives a glimpse into royal life. You can also see the vintage car collection of the Maharaja, which is quite fascinating. The architecture and interiors are stunning, showcasing luxury and heritage together. The gardens are vast and beautifully kept, and you’ll often spot many peacocks roaming around, especially near the lawns — though the main garden area isn’t open to the public. The palace sits atop a hill, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of Jodhpur city. Parking is available outside the main boundary. The tour is relatively short but worth visiting for the royal vibe and stunning views.

We visited Umaid Bhavan on a weekend around 12:30 PM, and as expected, it was a bit crowded. Just past the entrance, we found a stall selling delicious kulfi — a small but very welcome treat in the heat. The entry is restricted to only a limited section of the palace, mainly the central museum area. While the accessible part is relatively small compared to the entire property, it still offers beautiful glimpses of the royal interiors, vintage collections, and the palace’s history. Overall, it’s a nice stop if you’re exploring Jodhpur, but be prepared for crowds during weekends and remember that only a portion of the palace is open to the public

My Must-Visit Review: Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum in Jodhpur If you are someone who loves historical places as much as I do, you absolutely must visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum. This place isn't just a stunning building; it carries a deep history that truly touched me, and I want to share why I loved it so much! The Inspiring History of the Palace Itself The story of the palace, which is well-documented right inside the museum, is what makes this place so special. Our Jodhpur King, Maharaja Umaid Singh, began building this historical place in the 1930s not for personal luxury, but to help the Jodhpur people who were suffering from severe famine and drought (or as you said, a "pandemic"). The entire construction was a massive employment project designed to give thousands of people work, keeping them fed and safe during a devastating period. To see the historical accounts and photographs of the palace's making inside the museum makes this grand structure feel like a monument built with immense compassion. A Treasure Trove of History Inside the museum, you get to see so many amazing historical artifacts. If you like to see historical stuff up close, you will be completely in your element here, especially with these highlights: • The Clock Collection: There is a super collection of antique and ornamental clocks here! You can see clocks of all shapes and sizes, including unique designs in lighthouse and windmill shapes. • Royal Paintings: You'll also find beautiful paintings, including miniature paintings and murals, that showcase the artistic and cultural history of the royal family. • Other Collectibles: Beyond those, the museum is full of other stuff like royal memorabilia, beautiful crockery, antique furniture, and historical photographs. My #1 Recommendation: The Vintage Cars! You definitely should visit here for all the historical items, but especially for the vintage cars. The collection of vintage cars is spectacular—they are a stunning sight to behold and were the highlight of my visit! It’s incredible to see such well-maintained pieces of automotive history right in the palace complex. My Final Word The Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum is a grand, historical masterpiece with an inspiring story behind it. It’s a perfect visit for anyone who appreciates the past, royal history, stunning artifacts, and, of course, amazing vintage cars! Don't miss it!

It also features the Hall of Heroes with rock-carved statues of Rajput warriors, a temple dedicated to 33 crore Hindu gods, and a museum displaying ancient artifacts. Nestled just outside the bustling city of Jodhpur, Mandore Garden offers a serene and historically rich escape from the typical Rajasthani fort and palace itinerary. This sprawling garden complex, the ancient capital of the Marwar region, feels more like an enchanting, overgrown sanctuary than a manicured park. The main attraction is its stunning collection of dewals, or cenotaphs, built in memory of Jodhpur’s rulers. Unlike the typical chhatris found elsewhere, these are immense, temple-like structures, featuring intricately carved red sandstone facades that soar multiple storeys high. The Hall of Heroes, with its giant, brightly painted figures of deities and Rajput warriors, adds a unique folk-art charm. Monkeys playfully scamper across the lawns and ancient structures, adding to the garden's lively, untamed atmosphere. The overgrown foliage and the quiet, almost mystical ambiance make it a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll. Climb up to the higher terraces for beautiful views and to explore the rock-cut hall and temple. Mandore Garden is a captivating blend of history, architecture, and nature. It’s a less crowded, more relaxed alternative to Mehrangarh Fort, offering a poignant and picturesque glimpse into Rajasthan’s regal past. A must-visit for those seeking a different side of Jodhpur.

The only Lord Brahma temple on earth! There is a short walk towards the temple - you should visit the Pushkar Ghat before visiting the temple. The queue is well maintained, we kept our shoes and belongings at a local shop and went to the temple. Note - there are a lot of people trying to draw your attention towards you for business gains. Best to ignore them and head straight to the temple.

The Jagatpita Brahma Mandir in Pushkar, Rajasthan, is one of the few temples in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma. Believed to be over 2,000 years old, it holds great spiritual significance for Hindu devotees. The temple’s distinctive red spire and marble architecture attract thousands of pilgrims each year. Visitors also take a holy dip in the nearby Pushkar Lake before offering prayers at the temple.

Don't buy prashad from outside the temple, don't fall for the scam. We bought the whole thing and brought it back as it was. Go for a quite visit and it's quick too, no long lines and quite beautiful. Just don't fall for the scams. Leave your footwear outside the temple no one will take it. Management is good, people are taking care of the place very evidently. Trust me don't buy those tokris, go inside pay your respects sit for a while it's very peaceful and explore the market and ghats, best time you'll have!

As I walked along the ghats, I was mesmerized by the stunning views of the lake and the surrounding hills. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of peace and devotion, especially during sunrise and sunset when the sky turned pink and orange. The lake itself holds great religious importance, and I was fascinated by the numerous temples and ghats surrounding it. Taking a dip in the holy waters is said to cleanse one's sins, and I could feel the spiritual energy emanating from the lake. The evening prayers and ceremonies added to the lake's charm, with devotees gathering to perform rituals and offer prayers. The tranquil waters reflect the stunning architecture of temples and the Aravalli hills, creating a breathtaking sight, especially during sunrise and sunset. It's a sacred place for Hindus, and the atmosphere during the aarti is magical. While the lake offers peace and spirituality, be mindful of the locals offering rituals and services, and clarify any costs beforehand. Overall, a must-visit this holy place when comes to Pushkar. The Hazrat Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Dargah is a revered Muslim mystic and saint's holy site, containing his tomb and a mosque. This sacred place in India attracts millions of devotees seeking blessings from Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti, who is widely regarded as one of the world's leading spiritual healers.
If you’re into exploring religion and spiritual world, you should definitely visit this place. this is one of the most sacred place for Muslims in India. I have seen many people of other religion are hesitant to go to Dargah, but they’re definitely missing out because of their restrictions. this place is very peaceful and people here are amazing. I was helped at every instance I needed help whether it was in directions , to follow customs ,to take pictures, or to put my footwear. If you are an explorer and want to know the world, you should definitely visit this place and spend the day. I will visit here again with my family.

The dargah itself is truly peaceful and spiritually uplifting. You can feel a deep sense of devotion and positivity inside. However, the area around it really needs better management. The roads near the dargah are not very clean, and there are many vendors, auto drivers, and some khadims who try to overcharge or mislead visitors. If you’re visiting, it’s best to stay cautious, avoid giving money unnecessarily, and go directly for your prayers. Despite these issues, the dargah remains a sacred and must-visit place for those seeking peace and blessings.

Visitor reviews for the Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Dargah Sharif highlight a deeply impactful and spiritual experience for most, tempered by practical concerns regarding crowds and potential scams. The shrine of the Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti is celebrated for its ability to foster peace and unity across all faiths, attracting millions of devotees from diverse backgrounds. Many visitors describe a profound sense of serenity and emotional release upon entering the main shrine, feeling instantly connected to the saint's message of compassion and selfless love for humanity. The atmosphere, filled with the fragrance of rose petals and the soft melodies of prayers and qawwalis, is often described as a "balm for the soul" where wishes made with a pure heart are believed to be fulfilled. However, the experience is not without its challenges. Common complaints involve heavy crowds, especially on weekends and during festivals, and the surrounding area's chaotic environment. Multiple reviews caution first-time visitors about pushy touts and individuals seeking donations, advising visitors to be vigilant about their belongings and, if possible, to arrange a trustworthy local guide or visit during less busy hours. Overall, the spiritual aura and historical significance of the Dargah are widely praised, earning it a top ranking among local attractions.

Civic sense is completely missing here. Auto rickshaws and e-rickshaws drop people right at the gate, creating extreme crowding and chaos. The risk of snatching and theft is very high, both inside and outside the premises. A so-called VIP entry is available if you spend ₹10,000 or more, which even allows you to spend an hour inside near the shrine. Sadly, everything feels commercialized—most people (especially the khadims) seem focused only on business, earning lakhs daily. This is my genuine experience. Honestly, I only come here because of my parents.

Visiting Ajmer Sharif Dargah is more than just a trip……it’s a journey of the heart. The moment you enter the lanes leading to the Dargah, life changes pace……shops selling flowers, chadars, and incense line the way……the sound of qawwalis and the calls of shopkeepers blend into a unique rhythm of devotion. The crowd is always there – from locals to travellers from across India and beyond. Some walk barefoot as a mark of respect……others come with families, carrying offerings wrapped in love. It can get very crowded, especially on Thursdays and during Urs festival, so patience and calm are key. Security checks are in place before you enter……and once inside, you’re surrounded by the fragrance of roses and incense. The white marble structure of the shrine glows softly……and the inner sanctum, where Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti rests, feels almost otherworldly. Facilities are basic but available – shoe stands, drinking water points, and restrooms nearby……though the area outside can feel congested. Inside, volunteers help manage the flow of devotees, and there’s a sense of shared respect regardless of background or religion. For me……standing there, with hands folded and eyes closed, all the noise faded……and all that remained was a deep, quiet prayer. You leave not just with memories, but with a strange lightness in the heart……and a reminder that kindness, humility, and love are the truest offerings we can give.

A visit to the Dargah of Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz, also known as Ajmer Sharif, is an experience that transcends religion and touches the very core of your soul. From the moment you enter the bustling lanes leading to the shrine, you are enveloped in an atmosphere charged with devotion, fragrance, and a powerful sense of unity. The stunning Mughal architecture, with its magnificent silver doors and marble courtyard, is a sight to behold. But the true beauty of this place lies in the profound sense of peace that settles upon you as you step inside. Despite the thousands of pilgrims who visit daily, there is a serene and calming energy that makes you feel immediately welcome. People from all walks of life and every faith come here to seek blessings, their faces reflecting a shared hope and reverence. Listening to the soulful Qawwali performances is a truly mesmerizing experience that can transport you to another world. It’s in these moments you understand why this sacred shrine is a symbol of love, harmony, and humanity. A trip to Ajmer is incomplete without paying homage at this holy site. It’s a deeply moving and spiritually uplifting experience that leaves a lasting impression of peace and reminds you of the power of universal faith.

My visit to the Dargah was an incredibly disappointing experience. The spiritual moment I had hoped for was completely ruined by the surrounding chaos and relentless harassment. The approach to the Dargah is a gauntlet of shops and persistent beggars. Don't fall for the scams. The flowers and Chadar are overpriced—a basic Chadar and flower basket should not cost more than ₹100 and ₹200, respectively. You'll also be pressured by shops to pay for shoe-keeping, but you can easily avoid this by carrying your footwear or leaving it to the right of the entrance. Inside, so-called "guides" will demand money to show you around and perform a puja. They are simply hustlers. We were charged ₹200 for a rushed and unfulfilling tour of the complex. However, the worst part of the visit happens after you leave. You will be absolutely mobbed by beggars who will follow you relentlessly, using guilt to try and extort money from you. This aggressive behavior makes any spiritual or peaceful experience impossible. This place is not worth the effort and is completely skippable.

The City Palace in Jaipur is an opulent 18th-century palace that once served as the residence of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and is now a museum. It's a popular historical attraction known for its beautiful collection of paintings, textile gallery, armory, Durbar hall, BaggiKhana, and SarvatoBhadraor (Diwan E-Khas) with exquisite architectural beauty.
City Palace in Jaipur is an incredible blend of history, art, and royal elegance — a must-visit for anyone exploring the Pink City. The palace complex perfectly combines Mughal and Rajput architectural styles, with grand gateways, beautiful courtyards, and intricately designed halls. As soon as you step inside, you’re surrounded by marble archways, colorful murals, and royal charm that instantly takes you back in time. The highlight for me was the famous Peacock Gate — a masterpiece of design with vibrant colors and amazing craftsmanship. It’s also one of the most photographed spots here, and for good reason. The museum inside the palace is very well-maintained, showcasing royal costumes, ancient weaponry, and artifacts that tell the story of Jaipur’s royal legacy. I also enjoyed visiting the Diwan-i-Khas and Diwan-i-Aam — both halls are majestic and filled with historical significance. There’s a small café inside the complex that serves good coffee and snacks, perfect for relaxing after exploring. The place is clean, well-managed, and the staff is polite and helpful. The entry fee might feel a bit high, but considering the beauty, maintenance, and experience, it’s absolutely worth it. I recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon for good lighting and smaller crowds. My photos from the upper terrace and courtyard turned out stunning! Overall, City Palace is a gem in Jaipur — grand, graceful, and full of stories that every traveler should experience.

We loved the place! If you are coming to Jaipur, this spot is a must-visit. The palace and the museum inside are full of history and beautifully maintained. You can explore the architecture, royal artefacts, weapons, paintings, and many cultural displays. The views from the fort are amazing, and the whole experience feels rich and worth every penny. Highly recommended for anyone who loves history, photography, or just wants to enjoy a royal vibe in Jaipur.

A magnificent blend of history and royalty! City Palace is one of the most impressive attractions in Jaipur. The architecture is grand, with beautifully carved courtyards, vibrant doorways, and well-preserved artifacts that reflect the rich heritage of the royal family. The museum sections are informative, and the displays are curated with care. The entire complex is clean, organized, and easy to explore. Though the tickets are slightly on the higher side, the experience and the elegance of the palace make it worth it. A must-visit for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in Jaipur’s royal past!

A part of the Jaipur king's palace is open to visitors as museum. Ticket rate of 300rs per person. Wonderful museum. Most of it is covered, so okay to visit during daytime with high temperature. We visited in September 2025 Current descendents of the King reside in a part of this palace, which is not open to regular visitors. There is a private tour of 4000rs (if I remember right) per person, to view 4 rooms in the section where King resides. Anyone wanting to get a pic in the famous blue-white design room famous in social media - this is one of these 4 rooms available through the 4k rs ticket - don't be disappointed like me 😅

It's a beautiful place where the royal family lives. We buy a ticket for 300 but it was for very limited access, for entire palace the ticket was of 4000 which is huge. Even spending 300 for museum was not worth. The palace is definitely a good place and carrying a great history but spending 300 for visiting museum for 45 minutes is costly. Definitely a place to visit but cost is also royal.

The city palace is one of its kind and so beautifully designed. Also, entry fees of 300 rs for indian and 1000 rs for foreigners is applicable. They have restaurant and caffe as well inside the fort. Must visit if you are staying in jaipur. Also, this fort do not require guide as everything is mentioned there with details and pictures.

The City Palace in Jaipur is an absolutely stunning monument and a must-visit for anyone coming to the Pink City. The architecture, colours, courtyards and royal details are breathtaking — every corner feels like a piece of history frozen in time. The blend of Rajput and Mughal design is beautifully maintained, and you can easily spend hours exploring and clicking photos. Truly one of Jaipur’s finest landmarks. That said, a small word of caution about the shops inside the palace complex. Many items are marketed as “authentic”, “royal”, or “handmade”, but the prices are heavily marked up. You can find very similar items — textiles, handicrafts, accessories and souvenirs — outside the palace for a fraction of the cost. A special mention for the perfume/attar shops inside: they narrate long stories about rare fragrances and royal formulas, but most of it is just regular attar being sold at extremely high prices. There’s no harm in browsing, but it’s better to buy perfumes and handicrafts from trusted markets outside. Overall, City Palace is an incredible place to experience the heritage of Jaipur, but be mindful of purchases inside the premises. Go for the architecture, culture and history — they’re 100% worth it!

Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is a fascinating 18th-century heritage site that stands as a testament to the astronomical prowess of its creator, Maharaj Sawai Jai Singh II. This remarkable observatory, constructed in 1726 from masonry, marble, and brass, features an array of fixed instruments known as yantras. These large-scale structures resemble abstract sculptures but serve a serious purpose: they accurately measure celestial phenomena such as timekeeping, star locations, planetary angles, and even predict eclipses.
Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is one of the most fascinating places I’ve ever visited. It’s not just a historical monument but a real scientific wonder that shows how advanced India’s astronomical knowledge was centuries ago. Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the early 1700s, this UNESCO World Heritage Site features massive instruments made entirely of stone and marble — all used to study the stars, track time, and predict eclipses long before modern technology existed. The highlight is the Samrat Yantra, the world’s largest stone sundial, which can measure time with incredible accuracy — up to just a few seconds! There are several other fascinating instruments, each designed with perfect geometric precision. It’s truly mind-blowing to think that these were built over 300 years ago without any modern equipment. 👉 Make sure to get a local guide — they will explain everything clearly and make the experience ten times better. The instruments can look confusing at first, but once the guide walks you through how each one works, it becomes absolutely captivating. My guide explained how shadows, angles, and sunlight were used to calculate time and planetary positions — it was like stepping into a live science classroom! The complex is clean, well-maintained, and ideal for photography, especially in the morning when the light hits the instruments beautifully. There are shaded spots to relax, and the atmosphere feels peaceful despite being near the busy City Palace area. Overall, Jantar Mantar is a must-visit in Jaipur — a perfect blend of history, science, and art. It’s one of those places that truly makes you admire India’s ancient brilliance. Highly recommended!

It is one of the most fascinating places in Jaipur. The different devices shows time, the hour of the day, eclipse-on the sun and the moon, the hours left, when will it begin, the end time, the mid time, the duration and everything related to time and above. In those times, people used to see this and know the time of the day and night. There is a wheel that actually tells the time. The spoke on which the sunray is there, its the hour and minutes follow after it. Absolute wonder.

Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, this five-story palace is renowned for its striking facade adorned with numerous small windows known as jharokhas. These intricately designed openings not only enhance the beauty of the structure but also serve a practical purpose by allowing cool breezes to flow through, making it an early form of natural air conditioning.

Hawa Mahal, or the “Palace of Winds,” is truly one of the most iconic and mesmerizing landmarks in Jaipur. The moment you see its magnificent pink sandstone façade, you understand why it’s called the pride of the Pink City. The intricate latticework windows, known as “jharokhas,” were built so royal women could watch street processions without being seen — and that piece of history makes the experience even more special. I visited in the morning, and the sunlight reflecting on the palace made it glow beautifully. The street view from the opposite side gives you the best photo angle — the whole façade looks stunning against the clear blue sky. Inside, the corridors are narrow yet charming, leading up to several levels with amazing viewpoints overlooking the busy Johari Bazaar below. The detailing on the walls and arches is spectacular, and the cool breeze that flows through the hundreds of small windows really lives up to its name — “Palace of Winds.” There’s also a small museum inside showcasing royal artifacts, paintings, and weapons from the Rajput era. I highly recommend visiting with a local guide for historical insights — it made my visit even more meaningful. Outside, there are many shops selling jewelry, handicrafts, and Rajasthani souvenirs, adding to the local vibe. Overall, Hawa Mahal is a masterpiece of architecture, culture, and history — an unmissable stop for anyone visiting Jaipur. Don’t forget to carry your camera; every corner is worth capturing!

A great structure and unique example of Indian architecture. It believes that this building is made without foundation. Lots of windows and beautiful look. Nice place to visit but you will face parking problem. In evening it looks much beautiful. Plan your visit in evening and you will love it.
Rajeev P — Google review
The Hawa Mahal stands as a testament to great architecture, instantly captivating visitors with its distinctive five-story, pyramid-like facade. Built from red and pink sandstone, its genius lies in the 953 delicate jharokhas (latticed windows), which allowed royal ladies to observe street festivals while remaining unseen. This ingenious design also facilitates the 'Palace of Winds' effect, ensuring cool breezes circulate through the structure. A major reality check, though: the area is incredibly crowdy. The surrounding street is a chaotic hub of traffic, making it overwhelming during peak hours. For the best experience, the early morning is the absolute best time to visit, ideally before 10:00 AM. The softer light beautifully illuminates the pink facade, and the crowds are significantly thinner. For the iconic, full-frame photos of the Mahal, avoid the ground level. Instead, head directly across the road and up to one of the rooftop spots, such as the popular Wind View Cafe. This vantage point offers an unobstructed, elevated view that is simply unparalleled for capturing this magnificent structure.

Hawa Mahal was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in the year 1799 under the supervision of architect Lal Chand Ustad. He designed the facade of this palace like a crown. This 87-foot-high-pyramid-shaped, five-storied structure has 953 intricately designed windows. This five-storey building has been built without a foundation It’s known for it’s expectional ventilation, Which is also the reason behind it’s name - Hawa Mahal, which literally translates to “Palace of the Winds”

Visiting Hawa Mahal felt like stepping into a fairytale carved out of pink sandstone. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, this iconic "Palace of Winds" is an architectural marvel that left me utterly spellbound. The moment you stand in front of its stunning five-story façade, you’re greeted by 953 intricately latticed windows (jharokhas) that look like a giant honeycomb dripping with Rajput and Mughal artistry. The delicate carvings, domes, and balconies create a mesmerizing pattern against the sky – it’s easily one of the most photogenic landmarks in India! What makes Hawa Mahal truly magical is its brilliant design. Those tiny windows were crafted so cleverly that they allowed royal ladies to observe street festivals and daily life without being seen, while keeping the palace naturally cool even in scorching Rajasthani summers (the "hawa" in its name literally means wind!). Standing inside, you can feel the gentle breeze flowing through like the palace is breathing – it’s an engineering wonder disguised as poetry. The view from the top is pure gold: a panoramic sweep of Jaipur’s bustling bazaars, the majestic City Palace, and distant hills bathed in golden sunlight. Early morning is especially enchanting when the soft light turns the entire structure into a glowing rose-pink dream. Though the interiors are minimal (it was never meant for residence), every ramp and corridor feels like a secret passageway whispering stories of a bygone era. The small museum on the upper floors with its old photographs and artifacts adds a lovely touch of history. Tips from my visit: Go at sunrise for the best light and fewer crowds. Combine it with Jantar Mantar and City Palace – they’re just a short walk away. Wear comfortable shoes; there are plenty of stairs but totally worth the climb! Hawa Mahal isn’t just a monument – it’s a celebration of creativity, femininity, and the genius of Indian architecture. If you’re in Jaipur, this breathtaking beauty is an absolute must-see. I left with hundreds of photos and a heart full of wonder. Highly, highly recommended! 🏰💖

It is built by Maharaj Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. It is five storied structure and one of the tourist places in Jaipur. It is unique in its design. It looks like honeycomb as it has many small windows and balconies. These windows and balconies allowed royal women to observe the street life whereas these women will be remain unseen to outsider on street. These windows and balconies also provides cool breeze. Thats why the name is Hawa Mahal ( Palace of winds). It is open at 9.30 am and closes 7.00 pm. The closing time varies on season basis. Entry fee is 50 rs for Indian citizen.

Jal Mahal, also known as the Water Palace, is a grand red sandstone palace situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur. Built in the 18th century by Sawai Madho Singh, it was originally intended as a summer resort for the royal family and guests. The palace's unique location makes it one of Jaipur's most famous landmarks.
Jal Mahal is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in Jaipur. The view of the palace in the middle of the lake looks absolutely stunning, especially during sunset. The surrounding area is clean and perfect for evening walks or photography. You can enjoy street food nearby while admiring the royal architecture. A must visit place for anyone exploring Jaipur’s beauty and culture.

Really lovely palace which sits right in the middle of the man sagar lake in jaipur. The view of the palace is beautiful with the hills to one side and water all around. Need more maintenance and cleanliness as the water is dirty and needs treatment. Its a pity that common man has no access to the palace. You will be hawked by photographers offering to take snaps in traditional rajasthani dressing. Bargain well if you want to engage their service.

Jal Mahal is one of the most beautiful and iconic spots in Jaipur. The palace looks stunning in the middle of the lake, especially during sunrise and sunset when the golden light reflects on the water. The surrounding area is peaceful, great for photography, and perfect for a relaxed evening walk. There’s no entry inside the palace, but the view from the lakeside is absolutely worth visiting. The place gets a bit crowded on weekends, so visiting during early morning or late evening is ideal. Street food and small shops around the area add to the experience.

The Jal Mahal (meaning "Water Palace") is a stunning architectural marvel situated in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, India. Built primarily in the red sandstone, this five-storey palace appears to be floating serenely on the water, with four of its floors submerged during a full lake, leaving only the top floor visible. Originally constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh for duck hunting, the palace was later extensively renovated and expanded by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber in the 18th century. Its distinctive blend of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles is evident in the symmetrical design, the intricate carvings, and the beautiful terraced garden on its roof, which was once adorned with arcades and semi-octagonal towers. Though currently inaccessible to visitors inside, the palace and its picturesque reflection on the lake's surface offer one of the most tranquil and photographed sights in the "Pink City."
SAIKAT M — Google review
The story behind Jaipur's Jal Mahal ("Water Palace") is one of its creation as a hunting lodge and its later transforma- tion into a symbol of royal pleasure and architectural ingenuity. Originally built in 1699 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, it was a retreat for duck hunting. Later, in the 18th century, Maharaja Jai Singh Il renovated and ex- panded both the palace and the surrounding lake, which was formed by damming the Dravyavati river to address water scarcity.
Ashish G — Google review
The Jal Mahal, or "Water Palace," is an architectural marvel seemingly afloat in the center of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur. This entire setting is man-made; the lake was originally created in 1610 AD by damming the Darbhawati river to alleviate a famine. The palace itself, though started earlier, was largely renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II of Amber. The palace's design is a stunning testament to the Rajput-Mughal architectural blend. It is a five-storeyed structure built from beautiful red sandstone, yet famously, when the lake is full, four of those floors remain submerged underwater, creating the illusion of a single, ethereal floating story. A key detail is that the palace cannot be visited internally by the general public as entry is restricted, partly due to ongoing restoration and legal issues. Tourists must appreciate its grandeur from the Man Sagar Dam and the promenade on the lake's edge. Regarding water activities, boating is currently not allowed for tourists to access the palace itself, though some tour operators offer boat rides on the larger Man Sagar Lake to provide a closer view. The primary activity is walking the promenade and photography, especially during sunrise or sunset. The best time to visit the exterior is during the monsoon, when the lake is at its fullest, enhancing the palace's magical reflection. Flanked by the Nahargarh hills, Jal Mahal remains one of Jaipur's most photographed and historically significant landmarks.

Amber Palace, also known as Amer Fort, is a stunning architectural marvel located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This magnificent fort showcases a blend of Hindu and Muslim design elements, making it a unique cultural landmark. Visitors can enjoy elephant rides that add to the enchanting experience of exploring this historical site. The fort's intricate structures are built from various colored stones—milk white, light yellow, rose red, and pure white—which give it an amber-like appearance from afar.
Amer Fort – A Living Painting on the Hill Amer Fort isn’t just a monument — it’s like walking into a moving painting of Rajasthan’s royal past. Built by Raja Man Singh I in 1592 and later expanded by Mirza Raja Jai Singh I, the fort stands proudly on the Aravalli hills, watching over the calm Maota Lake below. The first sight itself is unforgettable — elephants walking up the cobbled path, the Suraj Pol gate glowing in sunlight, and the reflection of the fort in the lake making it look double beautiful. In the middle of that lake lies Kesar Kyari Bagh, a star-shaped garden built on a small island. Centuries ago, the royals planted saffron here, and the queens admired it from the palace balconies. Even today, it looks like a silent secret floating in time. Inside the fort, the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) steals your heart. One small flame lights up hundreds of tiny mirrors — pure magic without electricity! The planning of water channels, cooling systems, and hidden passages shows how smart ancient engineers were. Amer was once a defence fort but feels more like an art gallery of the Rajput spirit. Managed today by the Government of Rajasthan, it remains beautifully preserved. If you ever visit Jaipur, don’t rush. Sit near Maota Lake at sunset, watch the fort turn golden, and you’ll feel that history here doesn’t sleep — it just shines quietly.

Amer Fort, perched on the rugged Aravalli hills of Jaipur, is one of those places that instantly pulls you back into the grandeur of Rajasthan’s royal era. The moment you enter the main gate, the Sheesh Mahal’s shimmer, the intricate Rajput-Mughal designs, and the vast courtyards begin telling centuries-old stories of valor and elegance. The fort is massive yet beautifully detailed—every arch, jharokha, and pillar feels handcrafted with devotion. The Diwan-e-Aam, Ganesh Pol, and the breathtaking mirror work inside the palace are the true highlights. From the top, you get an incredible panoramic view of Maota Lake and the surrounding hills, making it a perfect spot for photography and peaceful reflection. Even with the crowds, Amer Fort maintains a calm, regal vibe. The light-and-sound show in the evening is also worth experiencing, as it beautifully narrates the fort’s rich history. Whether you're a history lover, architecture enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys exploring majestic places, Amer Fort is a destination you shouldn’t miss. It’s not just a monument—it’s a timeless symbol of Rajput glory and artistic brilliance. A must-visit gem of Jaipur!

The fort is one of the beautiful forts i have seen but if you are visiting this fort, you must wear sport-shoes as you have to walk around 8-10 km within the fort. Also, as the fort is having history with jodha bai, i recommend to take guide with you(200 rs charges). Also, elephant ride is available at the starting point to reach to the main gate of the mahel i.e chand pole.

went to amber palace, taking a jeep to get to the top of the castle. the visit was truly amazing because i had no expectations. there were lots of couples shooting for their wedding. there are so many hidden photo spots. the garden was beautifully managed and the castles (esp sheesh mahal, the mirror castle) were very intact and fascinating. if i had to choose only two spots to visit in the northern india i would choose taj mahal and amber palace.
Gracy B — Google review
Busy place, but really beautifull. To many people try to sell you stuff, be your guide or want to take pictures for money. Pretty annoying, you could not take one or two steps without being bothered, so -1 for that. The place itself had a lot of information signs, beautifull corners and places to Explorer or take pictures. But it was way to busy. We sometimes had to wait before we could walk up a stairs and taking a picture was not possible in some places. -1 for that. (Probably better if you can avoid the weekends!) The price was kind of alright 500 irp for International tourist. 100 per person for Indian, 20 per person for Indian Students, 150 per person for Foreign Students. In the end a place with great history and beauty.
Marnix M — Google review
Absolutely stunning place to be. It literally gave me goosebumps when i took the first glance at Amer Fort. Parking area is clean, helpful people there. A pro tip, please wear sports shoes as you have to walk a lot. Also, hire a guide if you really wanted to know the history of the Fort and king. Otherwise it's fine to roam around, click photos and adoring the historical architectural beauty. Don't try to go to Jaigarh from secret tunnel. It is 1.5km long and you will feel drained after that. Just go to Amer and then visit Jaigarh and Nahargarh by car. You need whole day for these forts, so plan accordingly.

Amber palace is the best and must to visit place in Jaipur. On weekends there is heavy rush on this fort. It took us almost one hour to reach parking area of fort. The fort ia very nice architectural monument. The Diwan e Khas or Shish mahal is the main attraction of Ambet fort. There are other areas like Diwan e Aam, King's bathroom, various rooms are also nice to see.

The magnificient Amer palace looks majestic on top of a hill. The view from below the hill is mindblowing. The road to the palace is narrow and crowded, but the palace is worth the time spent navigating and reaching the palace. You will get to see the kingly palace, its gardens, fountains, huge halls and hallways, the kings bath etc etc. Be ready to spend good amount of time here. Its the main attraction of jaipur city. There are enough gaurds and security to help us around with directions. Hire a good guide if you wanto explore the history of Amer palace.

Bhangarh Fort

Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Bhangarh Fort is a historic complex with the remains of Hindu temples, royal palaces, and tombs. Located about 90 km from Jaipur, it is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India and the state government. Despite its reputation as one of India's most haunted places, visitors have found it to be a well-constructed and beautifully designed fort. The interior buildings are poorly maintained in some areas, but guides are available to explain the fort's history.
A must visit place while visiting Jaipur. Bhangarh Fort is an absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing place to visit! The fort is surrounded by hills on three sides, offering stunning open views and fresh, clean air all around. The area is very neat and well-maintained. On the way to the fort, there’s an old abandoned market about 300 meters long, the ancient ruins give a glimpse into history. The path is lined with huge old banyan trees whose vines touch the ground and form new roots, which looks magical. Inside and around the fort, there are several ancient temples, monkeys, and even peacocks roaming freely. The views from the fort are breathtaking, especially in the morning or late afternoon. Some inner chambers have a strong smell because of bats hanging from the ceilings, so it’s hard to go inside. Overall, Bhangarh Fort is peaceful, scenic, and full of history. Definitely worth visiting if you love heritage and nature.
GAURAV K — Google review
Bhangarh Fort is a fascinating historical site with incredible architecture and stories that take you back in time. The fort complex is vast, with ample parking available, and local Hindi-speaking guides at the entrance make the visit more engaging with their tales of history and folklore. The entry ticket for Indian guests is very reasonable at just ₹25. While the fort’s upkeep could be better—with limited maintenance, no clean washrooms, and monkeys freely roaming around—the charm of the ruins and the atmosphere more than make up for it. A must-visit for history and heritage lovers.

★★Description★★ Bhangarh Fort, located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, is widely known as the "Most Haunted Place in India". Constructed in the 17th century by Raja Madho Singh, the fort once stood as a thriving town with palaces, temples, and a bustling marketplace, all showcasing a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. However, its prosperity was short-lived, with its ruins now shrouded in chilling local legends, most famously involving a sorcerer's curse on the beautiful Princess Ratnavati and an ascetic, Guru Balu Nath, whose condition about the fort's shadow was violated. The Archaeological Survey of India has legally prohibited entry into the fort premises after sunset and before sunrise due to its infamous reputation. Despite the eerie atmosphere and desolate nature of the ruins, Bhangarh remains a significant historical site and a major attraction for thrill-seekers and paranormal enthusiasts. ★★★ After visit, I think this wonderful place is one of the best forts in Rajasthan in case of ambiance. ★ No haunted activity is there. All forts of Rajasthan are closed at 6:30 PM (Plus minus 30 minutes for sun light). Inside this fort few number of leopards are found after sunset ( Source local people and Shop owner). Entry fees 25 rupees for Indian.(Cash Payment) Online Payment 20 rupees. A must visit palce in Rajasthan.
SAIKAT M — Google review
The place is claimed to be haunted but during the day of course there are no spooky vibes. In fact it's like just another fort. ASI renovation and restoration is going on. The guides tell intresting stories and it is recommended to hire one. Be careful of what you pay them since there in always scope of bargaining. There is nothing which offers anything to eat or drink within the fort and hence carry your own water. There is natural aquifier system with a baori or a stepwell which is intresting. The fort in itself is not very large and can be covered in 1-2 hours. Views after climbing to the top roof are impressive and give you the layout of the market, approach, fort walls and the temples within the fort. Cleanliness is a big issue and within the fort there is too much litter which we the citizenry have created. Approach is ok ok as it's a state highway. Beautiful views of the arravalis

Firstly, visit the place before sunset or reach not later than 4 in the evening because the guard will suggest doing it quickly. By the time I reached there, it was closed (5 o'clock in the evening), so I just conversed with the guards; they were very friendly, and there was a Hanuman temple at the entrance. The whole vibe was different. I was very excited to be there, and my sister was feeling low at the same time.

🏰 Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan – A Perfect Blend of History, Mystery & Natural Beauty 🙇‍♂️✨ I visited Bhangarh Fort on 27th June 2025, and my first reaction was — “Wow!” 🤩 This fascinating place truly feels like stepping into a living legend, where ancient stories whisper through every wall and corridor 📜💫. The fort’s majestic architecture, mysterious aura, and stunning natural surroundings gave me absolute goosebumps 🥶🛕. The path leading to the fort is beautifully lined with old banyan trees 🌳, their hanging vines creating an enchanting, almost magical atmosphere. Inside the fort, you’ll discover centuries-old temples, playful monkeys, and elegant peacocks moving freely 🐒🦚. The view from the top is breathtaking — especially during sunrise or sunset 🌄😍. Some inner chambers have a distinct smell and are home to bats 🦇, adding to the fort’s eerie and mysterious vibe 👻. No wonder it’s often called “the most haunted place in India” — every corner tells a silent tale from the past ⏳💀. Surrounded by the majestic Aravalli Hills ⛰️🌿, Bhangarh Fort offers a perfect mix of peace and thrill — ideal for history lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers 🔮📸✨. ⭐ Overall: A mesmerizing fusion of history, nature, and mystery — truly a must-visit destination for anyone craving an unforgettable experience in Rajasthan 🔥🔥🌟🙌🏻

"I recently visited Bhangarh Fort and was thoroughly impressed by its rich history and stunning architecture. The fort's unique blend of Hindu and Islamic styles is a testament to the region's cultural heritage. The panoramic views of the surrounding landscape from the royal palace are breathtaking. While the fort's haunted reputation adds an element of excitement, I didn't experience anything paranormal during my visit. The guides were knowledgeable and shared interesting stories about the fort's history and legends. The fort is well-maintained, and the temples and palaces are still intact. I recommend visiting during the winter months (November to February) for the best experience. Be prepared for a moderate hike and wear comfortable shoes. Overall, Bhangarh Fort is a must-visit destination for history buffs, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a unique experience. I'm glad I had the opportunity to explore this incredible piece of India's past."

It was good to visit over there and diving into the history of Bhangarh fort. While going to the top there was a small area which was stinging too much due to the presence of bats. Good to go during October - April. Nature beauty is there and pics also come ausmn. If it is raining then do go in rubber slippers because you will confront the water coming from the nearby water falls.

⭐️⭐️ (2 stars only for the kind staff and good food) I’m giving 2 stars — and that too only because of the extremely generous and polite staff, and the surprisingly good food. Apart from that, the entire stay was a huge disappointment. The rooms were far from clean, full of insects, and felt completely neglected. The bathroom didn’t even have an exhaust fan, and there was no water in the tap — forget about using the shower. It was honestly shocking for a place that claims to be 4 stars property. Cleanliness and basic facilities were completely missing. Definitely not worth the money or the hassle. Wouldn’t recommend unless the management seriously upgrades the property and pays attention to hygiene and guest comfort.

The team was also very accommodating with our requests and made sure everything ran smoothly. Would definitely recommend it for group outings or a weekend getaway!

The reception staff at this hotel are pathetic, and the property manager is just as bad. From the moment I arrived with two friends, we felt judged by the staff before we even said a word. Despite booking through Cleartrip for a better rate, they changed the room from what was initially shown. Not a single order was delivered on time. The hotel’s infrastructure is terrible and completely fails at basic customer satisfaction. To make matters worse, when we returned from dinner, the main door was locked and the staff were asleep, leaving no security at the entrance. Poor management, especially the arrogant receptionist from Kerala and the rude manager, makes this place unfit for the hospitality industry.

We tried the morning slot as it is less crowded and also saved from sun heat. Need to track to reach the starting point so we prepare for this also . The need to reach the location is another challenge as it is away from the highway. Overall nice experience

Hukum and Nischyal made the experience even more memorable. The weather was amazing so it made it whole lot better. But it can get really hot in june july. There are a total of 5 ziplines. Enjoy the spectacular views while ziplining

Flying fox Neemrana was a great experience. Coach/ instructors Mr Deepak and Mr ChandraVeer were most professional , patient , lively and accommodating. These boys deserve special note for their professionalism. Mr ChandraVeer regaled us with local stories of the zip area while Deepak helped less avid trekkers , pulling people stopping short of destination on the lines and laughing along with the group. Flying fox Neemrana deserves five out of five for safety, adventure , procedure , location and paisa wasul😊!!!

Great experience. Brilliant instructors (Madan and Suraj) Note: There's a 15-20min trek to the top. Nothing too intensive, but just to inform.

Little costly but worth it, as it comes in combination with Fort entry... There are total 5 zips, though only 2 are longer but still 5 zips satisfy your gut.... Initially tracking to the mountain top feels like tiring, but it's worth taking ride...

Zip lining at Neemrana is a must do. Flying fox was awesome at it. The training, instructors, facilities (like harness, gloves and even water bottle) were all too good. The hike up till the zip line was a bit tiring, about 750m of climbing, but it was totally worth it. The views from each of the 5 zip lines were amazing. 2 tips: follow the instructions given by your guides regarding posture, or you'll find yourself pulling on the zip.. and, choose to zip when it's not too sunny as it becomes difficult to climb when it's too hot.

Super relaxing activity. The experience is not adrenalinic, but it sure has very nice views. The staff is very kind and helpful. Nish and Hukum (apologies for spelling errors) were with us, making us feel safe, relaxed, and at home. I would do it again.

Heritage Transport Museum

Heritage museum
Museums
Transportation museum with a collection of rare & vintage automobiles, buses, aircraft & trains.
If you're a travel or history enthusiast (or just love cool cars and quirky rides), the Heritage Transport Museum in Haryana is a must-visit! Just a short drive from Delhi, this place completely blew me away. Where else can you see a vintage Rolls Royce parked next to a desi fatfati under the same roof? Spread across four beautifully curated floors and over 100,000 sq ft, this museum is a brilliant deep dive into how India has moved — from wheels and wings to even a spaceship! The collection is stunning — think vintage cars, bikes, trains, buses, Fun, educational, nostalgic, and visually stunning — skip the mall next weekend and take a drive through time instead. Highly recommended!

Nice place for auto enthusiasts, knowledge seekers, and students. Free parking available, food court is also available but is a little costly. There is no need to buy advance tickets. You need at least 2 hours to visit. Space movie show is in english and full of knowledge but may be boring for some. The location is odd, far from the city, but road connectivity is nice. Staff is polite and helpful. Neet and clean environment.

If you are in NCR, you shouldn't miss this. One of the very well curated exhibit. For people over 40-50s, it's gonna take you down the memory lane. Kids super love it to see the grandiour of vintage cars and vehicles.... Especially buggies. Kids love the simulator too and movie shown is also brilliant. They can improve bit on the gift shop but rest is an amazing experience.

A must-visit and truly amazing place! There’s a cafeteria available as well. It’s a bit far, but definitely worth visiting. I’d recommend going by your own vehicle, as getting a cab might be a little difficult—though when I checked, Ola, Uber, and Rapido were showing available options. I didn’t book any since I went in my own vehicle.

Excellent museum which is very well maintened. Easily among the best I've experienced in India. Takes through the journey of transportation, not just cars or buses. Guided tours, self guided walk arounds, they have it all! The food at the cafeteria is a bit blah, but I think they're solving for affordability. Do go here when you're in Delhi NCR.

This is really good place and every one should watch it with your kids who learn a lot about heritage of museums. Kolkata tram and Maruti 800 design at entrance is my favourite and there is a cafe which is also unique

Nature & Parks
Sultanpur National Park, located near Gurugram, India, is a haven for bird enthusiasts and nature lovers. The park boasts a diverse range of local and migratory bird species, offering visitors the chance to observe them in their natural habitat. With well-maintained paths, watch towers for birdwatching, and an educational center, it provides an immersive experience in the beauty of nature.
Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is a delightful escape into nature, and I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates avian beauty. I was truly impressed by the sheer variety of bird species I encountered during my visit. Arrive early in the morning for the most rewarding experience; the birds are most active during these hours, and you'll witness a spectacular display. Parking is plentiful, which is a huge plus. The entry fee is very reasonable, making it an affordable outing. Be prepared to pay a separate (nominal) fee for bringing your camera. We were also fortunate enough to see deer, adding to the overall experience. The paths are well maintained and easy to walk. To preserve the sanctuary's natural beauty and ensure the well-being of its inhabitants, please adhere to the following guidelines: no littering, do not feed the birds, maintain silence, and respect wildlife. Keep a safe distance from the animals and avoid approaching them too closely. Overall, Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is a wonderful place to connect with nature and observe birds in their natural habitat. It's a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and families alike.

I had a wonderful experience visiting Sultanpur National Park. It’s a serene place, perfect for bird watching and enjoying the outdoors. I spotted several migratory birds, including storks, herons, and egrets. The walking trails are clean and well-maintained, with watchtowers that give a great view of the lake and surroundings. It’s a great spot for photography and a quiet getaway from city life. Best time to visit is early morning, especially in the winter months. Highly recommended for nature lovers and families looking for a relaxing day out!

Sultanpur National Park (Ramsar site ) is located at Sultanpur village on Gurugram-Jhajjar highway, 15 km from Gurugram and 50 km from Delhi. This covers approximately 142.52 hectares. The National Park is named after King Sultansingh Chauhan a descendant of King Prithviraj Chauhan. The approach road is good and National Park has decent parking space. The entrance is charged @Rs 50. Around 250 migratory birds find shelter in winter season. The best times are always mornings and evenings. The walk around the park is around 7500 steps. There are watch towers to facilitate bird watching. You can even buy artefacts at counter while returning. Don't forget to rent up a binoculars. Electric vehicles are available for those who wish for ride around the park.

What i really like about this senctury is located nearer to gurugram. A really good place to visit in winter specially. Parking facility available ticket price is also reasonable. Place like this should be supported i can say. Food option is not available so keep this in mind while visiting.
Shikha I — Google review
This is the best place for nature lovers. The place is so calm, fully natural, and eternally peaceful. It takes around 2-3 hours to take a full circle of the lake. There are 3-4 watchtowers and observation decks that offer picturesque views of the visiting birds. You need to visit with binoculars and high heeled shoes for the best experience. Carry a water bottle on warm days but do not litter anywhere. The entry costs 50rs per person and 30 rs for parking each vehicle. Restrooms are available near the parking lot. The place is frequently visited by migratory birds from Siberia and Central Asia. One can also find local fauna in abundance. The lake is purely rain fed so water levels keep declining during the winter. This place usually remains open from October to March during the winters

Amazing place for birding. Winter months are ideal, the park is closed from may to oct. It is serene and peaceful. Well maintained and clean, golf carts available so people with mobility issues or people looking just to unwind may avail. They have decent binoculars available for rent as well. Saw 100+ species in the 2-3 hours i was there in mid February. Only sad thing was dogs trying to hunt geese and other birds.
