Kutch’s white desert (Rann of Kutch)

Deserts
The White Desert of Kutch is a popular tourist destination in India, known for its vast expanse of white salt desert that becomes visible after monsoon season. The area is particularly popular during sunrise and sunset. Despite its remote location, the desert attracts thousands of domestic tourists every day during peak season. Despite the crowds, the magnanimous size of the desert makes it a soothing and beautiful experience. The cool weather in November only adds to its allure.
A truly mesmerizing and one-of-a-kind experience! The vast expanse of the white salt desert under the open sky is breathtaking, especially during sunset and full moon nights. The Rann Utsav adds vibrant cultural charm with music, food, and crafts. A must-visit for nature lovers and those seeking unique landscapes.
Yogi V — Google review
The Rann of Kutch, located in Gujarat, India, is one of the world’s largest salt deserts. Famous for its breathtaking white landscapes, it transforms into a cultural wonderland during the annual Rann Utsav, showcasing Gujarati art, music, dance, and cuisine. Visitors can enjoy stunning sunsets, moonlit nights over the white sands, and the warm hospitality of local villages. A must-visit destination for nature lovers, photographers, and culture enthusiasts alike.
Ashish D — Google review
A surreal place that hits you the moment you step onto that endless white stretch 🤍✨ The silence, the breeze, and that shimmering glow under the sun make it feel like you’ve landed somewhere completely unreal — one of the rarest landscapes you’ll ever get to experience. The best time to visit is definitely during winters — Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan and early Feb ❄️ That’s when the weather stays pleasant and the salt flats look their absolute best. These months also happen to be the peak season, so expect more crowds, higher demand for stays, and busy evenings, especially during festivals and long weekends. Facilities in and around the area are quite good — clean pathways, viewing points, rest areas, and plenty of options for food, stay, and shopping 🛖🌙 Everything is organised well enough for families, groups, and even solo travellers. Overall, it’s a magical experience — a place that feels peaceful, vast, and unforgettable, and something you should visit at least once in your lifetime ❤️🤍✨
Bhadra M — Google review
The place is beautiful, however due to rains, there is still water and uou can't see the white Rann of salt yet. Nevertheless, beautiful view during full moonlight

We visited on 25th Nov 2025. Full of water.. no white dessert due to late monsoon itseems. Not sure why the govt still charging 140rs for each person. 10rs is also a waste. There is work going on still. Plan your visit accordingly
Sindhuja R — Google review
Way better than jaisalmer, please visit White run. You can enjoy plus knowledge and also remembered till death, mesmerising view and also very knowledgeable for astrologers.
CHIRAG R — Google review
We visit here nov 25 last week. There is no white sand for us due to water. Maybe in Dec it's is good time to visit.
Yogesh P — Google review
The endless stretch of white salt under the open sky is surreal and mesmerizing. Whether you visit during sunrise, sunset, or on a full moon night, the desert glows with a beauty that words can’t fully capture. I visited during the Rann Utsav, and the whole setup was vibrant, cultural programs, handicrafts, local food, camel rides, and traditional Kutchi music made it a complete cultural experience. The tent city is well-organized and gives you a mix of luxury and authenticity. If you're a nature lover, photographer, or just someone seeking a peaceful yet unforgettable trip, this place is a must-visit. The Rann of Kutch stays in your heart long after you’ve left.

Great place to hangout with family. Good atmosphere, nicely developed, however they don't allow to go inside due to Corona and they charge 50 per head if they don't allow they should have admit for free. There’s a cafeteria inside which offers good food. There is clean washroom facility available inside. They organise laser show in the evening which attracts many people.

Very neat & clean place. Visiting vande mataram museum was worth experience. Replica of parliament & red fort are very nice. Seating with Mahatma Gandhi in car & that too at drivers seat was very interesting & novel photo point. Excellent spot to visit.😊

Very beautiful place with history of India's freedom. Very neat and Clean place. Memorial visit will take around 1.30 hr. Food court is also available inside. Around memorial pictorial garden with sculptures and ducks. One can easily spend half day here.
Kunal S — Google review
It's a great place to visit and I would you say, you must visit this place if you're traveling in Bhuj. This place shows our historical stories by different different 3D modal, statutes. The sound quality is great, and it gives goosebumps, hearing the historical stories. They have special night light shows. The best things to see is this night light show, which will held around 8:00 PM. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend but one should definitely attend the night light show. The guides and staffs are nice and provides all the knowledge about the place. This place is clean and atmosphere is amazing here. You need to get ticket for entry, they've two different tickets. One for garden and outside view, which includes tents and shops in which you can see and purchase handcrafted items. And another ticket includes entry inside bhavan and you can see shows, and our historical stories and statutes of Bharat Mata holding 4 lions. Mobile Phones, Cameras, water bottles, and other things are not allowed inside. You can only carry Purse with you when visiting Bhavan. They provide free service to carry your valuable items such as cameras and phones. Also you'll be given shoes socks and you've to wear shoe shocks inorder to maintain hygiene and cleanliness, which is great. This is very unique thing I've noticed, I've never seen this before. Also you can find a canteen inside, if you're planning to spend whole day or if you're hungry. Canteen has everything you need such as Gujarati dish, Punjabi Dish, and other things.
HARI K — Google review
Nice place to spend time.. Canteen provides variety pf foods.. Shopping hits.. P.s. make sure to book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment on the days when museum tickets are houseful. Specifically when schools have holidays..

You should not forget to visit Bhujodi Craft Park while you’re in Bhuj. Not too far from the city, the Vande Mataram Craft Park is simply amazing. In my opinion, it’s one of the best tourist places not just in Gujarat but in India. Entry tickets are available near the main gate and the rates per person seem to be reasonable after the visit. There is so much to see and explore once you’re in. The entrance gate is a replica of India Gate and the decorative hut type ticket office itself tells you about the quality and importance of the place you are going to visit. The Radha Krishna temple near the entrance makes your day joyful. There is a round building in the premises which replicates our Parliament House. The Indian map with plants creeping on the walls is another attraction. Statues of Mahatma Gandhi with others going for Dandi March look natural and real. A big statue of Mahatma Gandhi sitting with his favourite Charkha is another noticeable feature. The lookalike Parliament building is in fact a museum. Unfortunately we couldn’t see it from inside as it was closed. There is another replica of Red Fort which has statues of Mahatma Gandhi along with other freedom fighters. Photos can be clicked sitting with these statues. Mahatma Gandhi’s struggle to free India and his work with other leaders are displayed here. Guides are available inside the museum to explain everything. As it was getting dark the lights were on and this made the whole place look like a dream. The fountains were looking great and were tempting tourists to click photos. The restaurant inside the building with yummy items is a great place to enjoy Chinese and Indian cuisine. The Bhungas and the beautiful well maintained garden all around the place are unimaginable. Neat and clean premises with large open area is good for children to enjoy their time. At last it was time for us to witness a more interesting event, the Laser Show. The tourists were requested to sit on the ground to watch the 30 minutes light show. It was all about our freedom fighters and the historical places of India. Great show which must be seen by all tourists. Photography is allowed inside the craft park and minimum time required to be spent is about 2 to 3 hours. Parking is available on one corner of the Bhujodi Craft Park. This place definitely raises our patriotic pride.

Nestled just fifteen kilometers east of Bhuj, the Living and Learning Design Centre (LLDC) is a captivating destination for anyone fascinated by the rich tapestry of Kutch's traditional crafts. This remarkable NGO-run museum serves as both an educational hub and a gallery, showcasing an impressive array of local handicrafts such as textiles, pottery, and woodworking. Visitors can explore well-curated galleries that highlight 42 unique embroidery styles from various communities like the Ahir, Maghwal, and Rabari.
If you want a sneak peak into the world of Kutch art and craft, then you should visit this museum. There are 3 galleries and you need at least an hour n half to see all the galleries. Very well planned museum. And it is completely guided. There is a cafeteria too.
Smita D — Google review
A place made to appreciate and celebrate local embroidery skills. Exhibition is mainly that. Along with pottery and block printings etc. People who don’t have an eye to understand such art may find this walk through a bit boring. They can indulge in Hands on activities like block printing and pottery for fun. The building and the campus is designed beautifully. I found the building architecture more interesting. But tourist should visit once to understand the city and its people.
Krishna S — Google review
With my whole heart, I deeply appreciate the work that the LLDC Museum has put into creating this space. The level of research, documentation, and the intent behind building the museum is truly commendable. It’s clear that this institution is doing meaningful work, both for the city and for the preservation and promotion of the arts. The museum is beautifully maintained, and the exhibits are rich in culture and craftsmanship. Every gallery reflects thoughtfulness and a deep respect for the traditions it represents. The exhibition design is effortless and informative. The staff are also polite, efficient, and contribute to making the overall experience smooth and pleasant. This is a space that deserves recognition and support for the vital role it plays in preserving our artistic heritage. Thank you!

It is always soothing when you visit this place. The place is so serene, that one can have complete peace of mind and body just by visiting here. The modern infrastructure of this museum is amazing with all earthy colours surrounded by trees and water bodies. The art and handicraft collection they have and the way they preserve it is just incredible. One of the best events of LLDC is the Winter Festival celebration they conduct every year. Each working member of the LLDC team is friendly. They always give a very warm welcome.

By far the most beautiful textile, cultural heritage Museum I have ever been to. This is one of the main reasons to come to Bhuj.

The Living and Learning Design Centre (LLDC) in Bhuj is a wonderful museum dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich handicraft traditions of Kutch. It showcases beautiful textiles, embroidery, and artwork created by local artisans. With interactive exhibits and live demonstrations, it offers a deep insight into Kutch’s cultural heritage. During our visit they were hosting Winter Festival 2025, so they had few local music band performance as well. The entry fee is Rs. 100 and they have decent parking space.

Naam bade Darshan chote is apt for them. I went for learning Lippan art. They charged a huge amount as compared to the rest other artists teaching there in Bhuj. We didn’t mind in paying thinking it’s a great institution. But very bad experience. They just want to fill up their pockets only. I didn’t learn anything that was about the money I paid but even then I didn’t mind. I was supposed to make one frame there completely and one more they told me they will give me a whole kit for that. When I came to hotel later I found mirrors were all small and I will not be able to use it in one frame. Very miser staff n institution I will say. They say the mom goes to the person who teaches but I paid for the institute. The institute when they are running such workshop they should give proper kits with sufficient materials and also the level of training also needs to be professional. It’s a real shame first on Shrujan LLDC and then the staff. They talk too much about their institution but it’s not the same in the experience. They think they will become rich by extortion of money and it will help them then fine good for them. The institution is responsible and it’s shameful

A great place to go and learn about the arts in Kuchh area. The project is documenting various art forms especially related to garments and fabric decoration in a very time consuming and pains taking effort. The exhibits present there are amazing pieces of art. The project also offers a great opportunity for over 3000 artists to earn their livelihood. Overall, a great place to visit.

One of the best place in Morbi to hangout. I would strongly suggest to visit this place when you are in the city. There is a safe and enough place for parking.
Sunny V — Google review
As one enters Morbi swaying pylons of the suspension bridge and the beatific riverfront is a nostalgic reminder of Victorian London. Located 64 km from Rajkot is the town of Morbi with its quaint cobbled alleyways and buildings reminiscent of 19th century Europe. Morbi’s former ruler Sir Waghji inspired by Colonial influences designed a technologically planned and versatile city. The visitor is welcomed into the city through a grand suspension bridge, an artistic and technological marvel of that period. European influence in town planning further contributed to a central square known as the Green Chowk, approachable by three gates each designed in its own inimitable style incorporating both Rajput and Italian elements.

It’s a proud landmark for Rajkot and a must-visit place for every cricket fan. Watching a live match here is always a memorable experience!

Beautiful stadium One of the standout features of the Rajkot Stadium is its expansive seating capacity, which accommodates around 28,000 spectators. The design ensures that fans have a great view of the action from any seat in the house. The ground itself is known for its well-maintained pitch, which has hosted several memorable matches, including both domestic and international fixtures. Accessibility to the stadium is convenient due to its strategic location. It's approximately 15 kilometers from Rajkot city center, making it easily reachable by road. The availability of ample parking space adds to the convenience for spectators arriving by private vehicles. The stadium's facilities are top-notch, with modern amenities including comfortable seating, clean restrooms, and a variety of food and beverage options. Additionally, the venue boasts excellent practice facilities for players, including indoor nets and a well-equipped gymnasium. Its modern infrastructure, combined with a vibrant atmosphere during matches, makes it a favorite among cricket fans and players alike. Whether you're a local or traveling from afar, attending a match here promises an enjoyable and memorable experience. Super cricket ground
Arpan K — Google review
The stadium looks great. But the traffic management is the worst I have seen. The seats are covered with bird poop. They don’t clean. The roads entering to the stadium and parking lots are unpaved. It creates breathing problems and congestion. Entering at the gate created a stampede. They have one of the worst management. After the game the worst traffic nightmare comes. See the photos and videos below. Do not come here if you’re not a local resident.
Jigar S — Google review
Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, a modern, solar-powered venue, offers a vibrant cricket experience with a 28,000-seat capacity. Its batsman-friendly pitch ensures high-scoring games, though chasing can be tough later. The stadium boasts excellent facilities, including a Lord’s-inspired media box, ample parking, and convenient access.A great spot for cricket fans despite minor issues.
Tarang P — Google review
A land of 30 acres was sanctioned in 2004 near the Jamnagar highway to build this state-of-the-art cricket stadium. The construction began in 2006 and almost 75 crores was spent. The media box at the venue resembles the one at Lord's and also for the spectators to move freely, there are several aisles between the seats. It also caters as a sporting complex to various other sports like badminton, volleyball and basketball.
Admission — Google review
This stadium is a must-visit for any cricket fan. The parking area is very poor. The best thing is free jio wifi available with high speed. Seat cleanliness is not good but comfortable for seating.
Harshil P — Google review
The atmosphere during matches is electric, and the comfortable seating allows you to enjoy the match from anywhere. If you're seated near the boundaries, you can see all the cricketers clearly. The venue features two big screens, enhancing the viewing experience. However, there is no water facility available, so you’ll need to go downstairs to purchase it. Food and soft drinks are available from various vendors, but expect to pay a premium price. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy a match with its vibrant atmosphere and comfortable seating.
Riddhi T — Google review
Amazing stadium to enjoy cricket games. It’s not too big or too small so you can blindly take any seat and will still be able to enjoy the game. Cleanliness was below par and has margin for improvement. Food and drinks are available along with vendors selling ice cream and chips inside stadium too. I would recommend this stadium and will definitely come back for future matches.

Shree Ishwariya Mahadev Mandir is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located near Ishwariya Park in Rajkot, Gujarat. This temple stands as a spiritual sanctuary and is known for its serene ambiance and religious significance, attracting devotees throughout the year, especially during important festivals such as Mahashivaratri. The temple is situated approximately 7 kilometers from Rajkot Junction, along the Rajkot-Jamnagar Highway in the village of Madhapar near Rajkot. It is easily accessible by cab, auto-rickshaw, or local transport, making it a favored religious spot for locals and visitors alike. The main deity of the temple is a "Swayambhu" Shiva lingam—meaning a self-manifested lingam believed to have appeared naturally rather than installed by human hands—which adds to the temple’s sanctity. Architecturally, Shree Ishwariya Mahadev Mandir presents a blend of traditional elements and intricate craftsmanship. The temple complex goes beyond its spiritual functions to offer a peaceful and pleasant natural environment. Visitors often speak of the tranquil atmosphere that makes it ideal for meditation, prayer, and spending quiet moments away from the city’s bustle. Adjacent to the temple is Ishwariya Park, developed by the Rajkot Municipal Corporation in 2008. Spanning around 77 acres, the park features lush green lawns, well-laid walking tracks, sculptures of animals such as giraffes, owls, snakes, monkeys, and rabbits, adding a fun and educational dimension for children. The park’s large lake offers boating especially during the winter months when water levels are high, enhancing the visitor experience with natural beauty and recreational opportunities. Ishwariya Park also includes several amenities such as a golf course, children’s play areas, and a musical water fountain that attracts visitors in the evenings. The combination of a spiritual venue like Shree Ishwariya Mahadev Mandir alongside an expansive recreational park makes this area a holistic space for both devotional and leisure activities. The temple and the park together create a perfect outing destination for families and individuals seeking a blend of culture, nature, and spirituality. The presence of food stalls and nearby eateries serving authentic Kathiyawadi cuisine adds to the cultural immersion and convenience for visitors. Visiting the temple during festivals such as Mahashivaratri brings a vibrant atmosphere with special rituals and celebrations where devotees gather in large numbers to offer prayers, attend cultural programs, and participate in communal feasts.

It's the only science centre in the region, located in the lung of the city, supported by an excellent qualified, dedicated and selfless team. Unfortunately it is badly in need of support, and the lack of funds and space is clearly visible. It is the need of the hour that individuals interested in seeing any development in science gather all the support possible, to ensure that the place sustains. The activities of the science center are exemplary, and the team is highly dedicated!

Today my wife and I visited O. V. Sheth Regional Community Science Centre, Aryabhatt Science Museum, and Pramukh Swami Planetarium at racecourse, Rajkot, Gujarat. All three places are in an old, unattractive, poorly maintained building. Although the ticket was only Rs 5.00 for the Science Canter and Museum, there was nothing there to see, know, learn, enjoy, and get excited. All the lengthy information about everything was in regional language, Gujarati. There was nothing worth noticing in the planetarium, either. At 5 p.m., we were the only two visitors! We could not see the show in the planetarium because they wanted minimum five spectators. We both felt that the visit was wastage of time.

A must visit place in Rajkot. The cultures of different countries are being reflected with the eye catchy doll setups. The place reflects different cultures from around 102+ country with 1600+ Dolls in museum. It's on 2nd and 3rd floor. There is a lift available. Monday is closed. The staff is also very well informed and they narrated us the complete story behind the set up of this museum. The main thing is no doll being purchased, but all dolls are being gifted by all rotary clubs around the world… The entry fee is Rs. 30 per person. There is extra Rs. 30 charge per camera if you want to take photographs. Cool place....

A unique museum!! It's a rare opportunity to see a Dolls museum, here in Rajkot. Good to visit with children. The museum is situated on 2&3 rd floors. The lift was not working when we reached there. We had to climb steps. It was built by an ex Rotary president of Rajkot for his daughter. He wrote mails to Rotary branches of the world and hence many international branches sent dolls representing their country and regions. It takes around 1 hour to see all the exhibits. The rooms are air conditioned. The tickets cost ₹30 per adult and ₹15 per child. It costs another ₹125 if you want to click photos. The dolls represent their country's costume and culture. Children can spend good time there. However make sure they have emptied their bladder before. Because the toilet here is a medieval era one, on the ground floor. I wish the Rotary club would pay attention and renovate the toilet as kids come to this place.

The Rotary International Dolls Museum in Rajkot is a fascinating wonderland for children of all ages: Over 1,600 dolls from 102+ countries, each showcased in traditional attire and set up with miniature scenes that let kids explore global cultures at a glance. Recognized in the Limca Book of Records for its unique and expansive collection. The displays include everything from folk dance dolls (like Bhangra and Dandiya) to Barbie and Einstein figurines, string/glove puppets, and even a rare Rocking Zebra—only one of five in the world! The themed showcases are beautifully lit and educational, with info about the country, culture, music, and costumes for each doll. Friendly and helpful staff guide visitors through the exhibits and share the fascinating stories behind many dolls. Includes interactive spaces like a cinema hall showing documentaries and cultural films, a Foreign Language Learning Centre, and a souvenir shop with stickers, postcards, and miniature flags. The Rotary International Dolls Museum is a safe, clean, and well‑maintained spot with plenty of visual stimulation and educational value. It’s perfect for a fun and cultural outing with kids. Every visit feels like a mini‑world tour where curious children can learn about cultures around the globe through beautiful doll displays. Note: Highly recommended Mainly for Kids.

A total different experience. Must visit, just 30₹ pp entry fees. This museum is surely made due to low and attraction towards dolls by rotary club. Definitely not a commercial thought process. Much appreciate the concept. They have 2 floors of museum, soveniour shop inside and collection of 1800+ different dolls from approx. 108 countries. Totally different and unique experience. Worth visiting. Please note its closed on Monday.

It’s been great to see a father’s commitment to her daughter for building such a dolls museum because he wasn’t able to make her daughter saw museum in Delhi. Many activities are going on here with just deposit and if full attendance then they refund full amount. Really well preserved all dolls in museum and one Zebra ride kind of activity is great for kids.

Amazing, surprising, charming and mesmerizing world of Dolls from every corner of world. This may seem to be a children's attraction...But no..Not all. This is the world of innocence, beauty. The truthfully faces of each doll reminds that this world must be filled with love only. A must visit place if you are in Rajkot.

The Watson Museum in Rajkot is a hidden gem for history enthusiasts and culture lovers. Located in the heart of the city, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's rich heritage. The museum houses a remarkable collection of artifacts, including ancient coins, pottery, sculptures, paintings, and textiles, each telling a unique story of Gujarat's history. The displays are well-organized, and the descriptions are informative, making it easy for visitors to understand the significance of each item. One of the highlights is the collection of artifacts from the Indus Valley Civilization and the tribal art section, showcasing the diversity of Gujarat's culture. The building itself is a colonial-era structure, adding to the charm of the visit. The staff is courteous and helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience. The ticket prices are very affordable, making it accessible to everyone. While the museum is fascinating, it could benefit from better lighting and improved maintenance in some areas. Still, it is an excellent place to spend a couple of hours exploring history.

Watson Museum, Rajkot Visiting the Watson Museum was a delightful experience! It offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich history and culture of Saurashtra and Gujarat. Located in the beautiful Jubilee Garden, the museum is housed in a charming colonial-style building that adds to its heritage feel. What I liked: A great collection of archaeological artifacts, coins, sculptures, traditional textiles, and ancient relics from the Indus Valley Civilization. Informative displays on Rajkot’s royal heritage, art, and craftsmanship. Well-maintained galleries that can be explored comfortably in 1–2 hours. Very affordable entry fee (₹5 for Indians). Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Convenient location — just a few minutes from Rajkot Junction. What could be improved: Some exhibits could use better lighting and clearer descriptions. Certain sections feel slightly outdated and could benefit from modern displays or digital guides. Closed on Wednesdays, 2nd and 4th Saturdays, and public holidays — plan accordingly. Tips for visitors: Visit in the morning for a peaceful experience. Combine your visit with a walk in Jubilee Garden and a quick stop at Kaba Gandhi No Delo nearby. Photography is generally allowed, but confirm before taking pictures. Overall, Watson Museum is a must-visit spot in Rajkot for anyone interested in history, culture, and art. It beautifully preserves the essence of Gujarat’s glorious past. Highly recommended! 👏

Loved this museum! There was tons of historical knowledge and information. Plenty to show for the history of India and the influences of the British empire. The staff were not the most helpful however the exhibits more than make up for that.

It's a collection on documentary prototype of mahatma Gandhi life journeys wh8ch are well explained and described. Museums has 40 camp which one of them having unique information. Each camp having separate guide for giving information and guiding. Entry fees for museum is 25₹. There is also free bag storage counter. Staff is good and they treatment is good. Nearest bus station, Railway station or airport is Rajkot. Local transports are there to achieve your locations. No OLA or Uber is available. Shortly is nice place

The Watson Museum exhibiting collection of items from around Gujarat. The items are good quality, and arranged thematically. The items on display is a very eclectic mix of items that would not be out of place in a major museum, but arranged in a compact package. Sadly, there’s very little information except for the labels. The religious statues, marble statue of Queen Victoria and the Durbar Hall of the princely states of Gujarat are the most interesting items in the museum. The museum is located inside Jubilee Garden and can be done in about 30 minutes. The cost of entry is trivial, but taking photos is twice the cost of entrance for a foreigner.

Mohandas Gandhi High School, formerly known as Alfred High School, holds a significant place in history as the educational institution where Mahatma Gandhi received his primary education. The school's impressive Gothic Norman style architecture and well-maintained premises offer visitors a glimpse into the bygone British colonial era. The library houses an extensive collection of literature related to Gandhi's life, providing insights into his formative years and moral values.
It was amazing experience during my visit. They have maintain this place very nicely. Each and every corner is spotless clean. Also they use technology in very good way. All the stages of Gandhi ji they displayed in digital way also in the evening you can see leser show in same premises. However I was not able to see the show but I visited all rooms and guide was with us and explained everything. It is a really nice place to know about Gandhiji and gandhiji's life. It is very good museum. This is being made by Gujarat government. Every Indian or any citizen of tge world should visit one time or more time to know about the nation father of india and a centuries man.

The Mohandas Gandhi High School is a former school converted museum dedicated to the entire life of Gandhi. The name of the school is Alfred High School, but commonly called by the name of it’s most prestigious graduate. The entrance fee is even more discriminatory than the usual 10x for foreigners and I was conflicted about paying 15x compared to a local. I initially started off visiting a couple of rooms and then an employee began to guide me through the remainder of the museum because it was part of the ticket. There are over forty rooms in total, each depicting the life of Gandhi in chronological order. Each room has a good amount of information and exhibits on display. Here’s the problem with the guide. The guide takes you through each room and talks about each room. Each room has more information than the guide gives and I would often want to spend more time in the room, except for the guide wanting me to move to the next room. Don’t get me wrong, the guide spoke good English and did a good job of explaining the contents and theme of the room. I just wanted to do things at my own pace. Overall, the museum is excellent, but the price for foreigners and the guide rushing me through the museum was too annoying.

A must must visit place in Rajkot. Earlier known as Alfred school, now turned into a museum now known as Mahatma Mohandas Gandhi Museum. Now this place and building wholly dedicated to the life of Mahatma Gandhi and his journey, life, principles, struggle and teachings. Best part is inside the dome they have special screening of learning’s and teachings of Gandhi through really beautiful light show which is a must attend. When we were there sadly not many people were there, probably awareness needs to be created. For a soothing environment and learning of Gandhi you should go to this Museum. #Rajkot #Museum #tourist #spot #historic #building #gujarat

We had a wonderful experience visiting the Mahatma Gandhi Museum in Rajkot. The museum beautifully showcases the inspiring life journey of Mahatma Gandhi — from his school days in Rajkot to his time in Africa, his principles of Satyagraha, and the influence of his guru. The displays, visuals, and storytelling make history come alive. It was both educational and deeply moving to see how Gandhiji’s values shaped his life and the nation. Truly a must-visit place for anyone who wishes to understand the real essence of truth and non-violence.

This institution constructed in the Indo Gothic style is spread around 25 acres and is difficult to miss if you are in Dr. Radhakrishnan road in Rajkot. While this institution was only meant for boys (read Princes) in the olden days it is currently a co-educational boarding and day school affiliated to the CBSE. Dear Public, It is with a mix of disappointment and determination that I address you regarding recent events involving Rajkumar College (RKC) in Rajkot, Gujarat, India. As some of you may know, I, H.H. Prince Manvendra, have recently received an invitation to an event at RKC, indicating that I could bring my husband, H.H. Prince deAndre, Duke of Hanumanteshwar, as my plus one. However, despite this indication on the invitation card, I have been informed that my husband would not be allowed to accompany me to the event. As of the writing of this letter, there has been no further information from RKC regarding this matter. Nevertheless, I feel compelled to share my thoughts and intentions regarding the situation. In solidarity with my husband and in defense of the rights of all individuals, particularly those within the LGBTQIA+ community, I have made the decision not to attend the event. While this decision comes with a sense of sadness, it is also fueled by a deep-seated commitment to fighting for equality and inclusivity. As someone who has personally experienced discrimination and bias, I understand the importance of standing up against injustice and advocating for change. My absence from the event is not a sign of defeat but rather a reaffirmation of my dedication to championing the rights of all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. In India, discrimination against LGBTQIA+ individuals is unequivocally prohibited under the Constitution. Article 19 guarantees the right to freely express one's identity, and recent legal milestones have further advanced the rights of queer and transgender individuals. It is disheartening to witness discrimination persist within institutions like RKC, especially when they should serve as bastions of knowledge, respect, and dignity. I urge RKC and all educational institutions to reflect on their policies and practices, ensuring that they align with the principles of equality and respect enshrined in our Constitution. Let us strive together to create a society where every individual is valued, celebrated, and treated with the dignity they deserve. In solidarity and with unwavering resolve, H.R.H. Located just 5 km from Rajkot Junction, Pradhyuman Zoological Park is a sprawling 130-acre zoo on the banks of Lal Pari Lake. It offers modern amenities and a natural habitat for various animals, birds, and over thirty-five thousand trees. The park's main attractions include lions of Gir, white tigers, and leopards. With lush greenery and a map of different enclosures at the entrance, this zoo provides an adventurous journey for visitors.
Pradhyuman Park Zoo in Rajkot is a wonderful place to spend time with family, especially kids. The zoo is spread over a large area with an open-air layout that gives a natural, jungle-like vibe. Walking through the park feels refreshing, as it combines wildlife with a close-to-nature experience. Children will really enjoy the visit here, as they get to see animals in a spacious, natural environment rather than confined spaces. It’s not just about animals—it’s also about enjoying greenery, fresh air, and the beauty of nature. A perfect spot for a family outing, where kids feel happy, parents feel relaxed, and everyone gets a little closer to nature.

The first thing is the minimum ticket price of ₹20. You can also purchase it by paying in cash and there is another option. You have to scan the tax code on their site and pay there. It is a very peaceful place, with a very good environment. There are two canteens inside for eating! All the animals are not there, but whatever is there is okay, it's worth watching. The place is a little small for animals, from what it appears. And what's inside the animal case doesn't have any grass in it at all.

Yesterday we visited Pradhyuman Park Zoo in Rajkot. Overall, it was a refreshing experience to spend some time close to nature and wildlife. The zoo had a fair amount of visitors, but the crowd was manageable and did not feel too overwhelming. The animals were truly fascinating to watch, and most of them looked healthy and active, which made the visit enjoyable. However, there are still a few areas that need improvement. Some parts of the zoo paths were covered with moss (sheval), which can make walking a little slippery and uncomfortable. A little more regular maintenance of these pathways would definitely improve the experience. Also, it seemed that in certain cases, the security staff were not very attentive. Proper monitoring and guidance could make the zoo safer and more visitor-friendly. In short, Pradhyuman Park Zoo is a good place for families, children, and nature lovers. The animals are amazing, and the atmosphere is peaceful, but the management can surely work on small improvements like path maintenance and stricter supervision.

Superb experience in the zoo. They have huge collection of animals, birds, reptiles and fishes. They have electric battery operated vehicles to roam around (40₹ for small pickup and drop. Other option is 500₹ complete car for 5 persons for 1.5 hours. I would suggest to book the personal car iso that you dont have to walk the huge zoo, especially if there are kids or senior citizens) . There is waiting for these battery cars so better to book immediately after entering the zoo. Not sure if they have advance booking on phone or so. U can enter and book the car, and if the wait time is too long you can request them that u want to go out and come back later during ur car slot time. U need not buy new tickets to reenter if the security allows. Check with them. The zoo is closed on Monday.

I recently visited Pradhyuman Zoological Park, and overall, it was a great experience. If you want to see the best place near Junagadh, this zoo is definitely worth visiting. I’ve been to Junagadh Zoo too, but this one is much better — it truly gives you a natural jungle-like feel. However, I did face one issue — I had booked my ticket online, but when I arrived, the QR code wasn’t scanning even though it was visible on my phone. It caused quite a bit of inconvenience. I recommend buying the ₹20 ticket offline at the counter to avoid this problem. There are water facilities inside, but the drinking water isn’t clean, and washrooms are not well maintained, which was disappointing Still, the overall experience was good — it’s a nice and peaceful place to visit with family and friends, and you can really enjoy the natural surroundings.

The serene ambiance coupled with the picturesque view of the Aji River sets the perfect backdrop for a peaceful outing. Whether you're looking to relax by the riverside or enjoy a leisurely stroll, this spot offers tranquility and natural beauty. Aji Dem at Aji River is definitely worth a visit for a rejuvenating experience amidst nature's embrace.

One of the best natural places to visit in Rajkot. Visit it in monsoon or after it. It has two see sides. The one from Meldi Ma Temple or Dungreshvar Mahadev side is must visit as it has better view points and its open without any iron grills. It has also natural sitting places and amazing photogenic spots. Huge parking place is also available.

Aji dam is a great place to visit if you want to visit in Rajkot itself. Attraction: A small but open playground, Big dam and a good aquarium is there. Food : No options for good food is available. Pls prepare accordingly. Parking : Big area for parking. It is a famous place and you can easily find the way.

Nestled in a serene landscape, Bhootnath Mahadev is a stunning Shiva temple that offers visitors an enchanting escape from the chaos of city life. Located about 4 kilometers from Halenda, this temple boasts ample parking and is surrounded by lush greenery, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers. Beautiful Shiva temple in best natural surroundings. Usually not so crowded and shivling in open area so anyone can perform Abhishek and Pooja. About 4 kms from Halenda. Enough parking space available for vehicles. Route is also scenic with windmills in hills and green trees in surroundings. Spring (February-March) and Post monsoon (August to December) are the best seasons to visit and enjoy lush green surroundings and filled water body in temple premises.

This temple of lord Shiva located near Halenda. Best time to visit will be Monsoon as you can watch different birds and scenary. It is very peaceful place but I am giving 3 stars as the road to reach temple is very rough other than that it's a must visit and ideal for picnic and religious place

Shree Ghela Somnath Mahadev Mandir

Mentioned on
1 list
Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Shree Ghela Somnath Mahadev Mandir is a less popular but historically significant temple in Gujarat. It holds the Shiva Linga that was brought here from Somnath during an attack by Ghori, with Minaldevi and Ghelo Vanoyo risking their lives to protect it. The temple is about 40 minutes away from Gadhada and offers food, stay facilities, and parking for devotees.
Which we know by the name of Mahadev, that is Bholiyanath, that is Ghela Somnath Mahadev, which is located in Jasdan taluka. This is the Shankar Bhagwan temple, which we know by the name of Ghela Somnath. On the circumambulation path of Ghela Somnath temple, the names of the twelve Jyotirlingas and information about them are given. When you enter the temple, a garden has also been made on its left side in the name of the martyred soldier. What else can I say where there is real Somnath Mahadev and also Ghela Somnath, to whom you can get whatever you wish for.A photo of the history of Ghela Somnath has also been added to the review.

I visited Shree Ghela Somnath Temple early in the morning. The place was very peaceful and calm. The sound of sparrows in the morning made the experience even more beautiful. The temple is clean and surrounded by nature. It feels very spiritual and relaxing. The idol of Lord Shiva is very powerful and gives a feeling of peace and energy
