This is my 3rd trip to ski Cervinia. First time I actually stayed 7 days in town. I had a group of 8 people and we all agreed we would definitely go back. The town was easy to get around. Had plenty to do before and after skiing. The people were very friendly. The food was fantastic. The hotel was fantastic! The skiing and weather was second to none. Definitely plan on returning. A+ all the way around...

one of the best ski resorts in Europe. Thanks to the glacier and the high altitude - above 3500m - there will always be snow and skiing conditions. And the incredible beauty of the landscapes.

Perfect ski resort. Very recomemded especialy for beginners. The town itself is small and very nice, but not a real apre ski atmosphere. I advise to find a place to stay close to the Cretaz lift.

The best landscape ever: the Matterhorn is superbe, Les Grand Murailles are impressive, on the Plateau Rosa glacier you feel like touching the sky.

Cervino Ski Paradise is truly one of my favorite ski resorts in the world. The slopes are incredibly well-maintained, the views of the mountains are breathtaking, and there’s a perfect mix of runs for all levels. The lifts are fast and efficient, and the whole area has a wonderful alpine charm that makes every day on the snow a joy. The only thing I wish could be improved is accessibility for younger skiers and snowboarders: it would be amazing if prices were a bit more affordable for those under 30, making it easier for more people to experience this incredible place. Still, despite that, Cervino remains an unforgettable destination for any snow season lover.

Nice ski resort with great views especially the Matterhorn. Was very warm beginning of April so the snow became very wet and heavy early afternoon but this was to be expected for the time of year. Great skiing for beginners and intermediates. Some flat and uphill sections would benefit from a magic carpet or rope pull

Good number of runs across all levels and the ability to ski over at Zermatt as well is definitely a plus. Just be mindful of the time and not miss the last lift up to be back over at the Italian side as it can be a costly affair to miss the last lift back! View at the top is amazing!

Absolutely breathtaking. The top of Europe it prides itself as. 3475M of elevation. A must visit if you're in Grindelwald. You have to change trains twice to get up here but the views are amazing. Theres different stations that you can go to and there's an ice station as well. You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours here.

There’s no denying it: the Jungfraujoch is one of the most spectacular spots in all of Switzerland. The panorama is simply breathtaking — an endless sea of snow and glaciers framed by the iconic peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. It’s the kind of place that makes you whisper “wow” before you even realize you’re doing it. That said, the experience is very tourist-oriented — and I say that with both appreciation and a smile. On the one hand, it’s impressive how accessible everything is: tunnels, elevators, shops, cafés, even an ice palace. The Swiss engineering behind this mountaintop infrastructure deserves applause. On the other hand, the sheer number of visitors can make you feel like you’ve taken a scenic detour through a luxury shopping mall at 3,500 meters. And then there’s the crowd itself — a fascinating, unstoppable wave of excited tourists from all over the world. You haven’t truly experienced the Jungfraujoch until you’ve seen a group of people taking selfies in sneakers at nearly 4,000 meters above sea level. It’s equal parts surreal and entertaining — like a nature documentary directed by Wes Anderson. All in all, the Jungfraujoch remains an unforgettable experience. It’s beautiful, over-the-top, slightly chaotic, and absolutely worth it. Just don’t expect solitude or silence — and maybe bring sunglasses, patience, and a good sense of humor along with your camera.

Absolutely stunning, snow all round the year, less tourist compared to Titlis. A nice tour route set up. You will clearly need 5 hrs and more if you want to enjoy every spot at your pace. The snowtubing and sledging were absolute fun. 20 CHF for Half hour and unlimited rides. Ice palace was beautifully carved. The hot chocolate shop at Aletsch glacier was yummy. Point to note- you have to walk a lot there, but for older people and people who are unable to walk a lot, there are places to sit in the warmth of the tunnel and enjoy the views.

Mürren is a village suspended between earth and sky, a quiet balcony carved into the cliffs of the Swiss Alps. Here, the world seems to breathe more slowly. Wooden chalets cling to the mountainsides like timeless guardians, and the air carries the clean, ringing silence of high places—broken only by the distant echo of waterfalls or the soft bells of grazing cows. From this lofty terrace, the giants of the Bernese Alps—Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau—stand like ancient sentinels, their snowy crowns catching the first blush of dawn and the last gold of evening. The clouds drift low, brushing past rooftops like wandering spirits, and every path leads to vistas that feel almost unreal, as if the mountains had stepped out of a painting and invited you to walk inside. Mürren is not merely a place to visit; it is a place to feel. A place where time loosens its grip, where every breath tastes of pine and glacier, and where the heart instinctively slows to the rhythm of the land. It is Switzerland at its most enchanting—quiet, majestic, and impossibly beautiful.

An absolute must see if you're in the Jungfrau region. The views of the Alps are unreal. The viewing platform at the Sphinx and the area with the flags lower down give the best photo opportunities. The ice sculptures are worth checking out.

The number one attraction as well as the most expensive attention in all of Switzerland. It cost about $500 usd for two people. The gondola ride up is amazing and the best cable car ride in the world. After the cable car you arrive at eigen glacier which is also very beautiful, then you take the train up to jungfraujoch and the train stops in the middle for you to see another glacier. Once you’re at the top there are several stations you can take a look at most of which can be seen in the photos I posted. You’ll also want to check their public webcam to make sure the weather is good on the day you come.

Avoriaz is, without a doubt, the best ski resort we’ve ever been to — and that’s saying a lot after more than 30 years of skiing! Everything is designed for maximum comfort, with ski-in/ski-out access from almost everywhere. The resort is fully pedestrian, which makes getting around incredibly easy and safe. The staff is genuinely kind and helpful, and to our surprise, we haven’t had to queue at all for the chairlifts — even during busy hours. And the snow? Absolutely amazing, even at the very end of the season. We’ll definitely be coming back — and recommending Avoriaz to everyone we know!

This beautiful ski resort is very active in the summer with plenty for the family to stay active. Whether mountain biking, hiking giant games of checkers, chess and tennis plus trampoline. The aquatic center is an excellent family swim . The beautiful French Alps surrounding the town

Great skiing resort. We went over new year so was a bit busy but also great New Years Eve celebrations and midnight fireworks were amazing. All staff we talked to ( in hotel, restaurants, shops etc ) were lovely and friendly. Would recommend for 1st time skiers , families or someone who likes ski fun parks too

Love Avoriaz. It’s like home - a nice friendly place. Resort is great, slopes are fantastic. Its can get overcrowded at vacation time and some places are overpriced but overall its a great place for a skiing holiday. No cars in the resort, only horse-drawn carriages which gives it a special atmosphere, along with the wood-covered buildings which blend into the countryside.

What a lovely ski resort in French Alps. Beautiful place with no cars alowed. By winter, there is a taxi from centre, horse pulled sleigh. They give you a blanket to cover legs, so you could not catch a cold 🙃 I will come back in summer, to see again this paradise!

Lovely and wintery with snow all around in this high altitude snow sure resort. Cars aren't allowed in the town so it's safe to walk around too. A bit artificial in feel though compared with nearby more traditional resorts, partly due to its newness, so this may make it feel less homely and welcoming in the summer. Wonderful in the winter though. Great skiing too.

Truly memorable place, great people (one or two not so good!) totally ski in/ ski out place scenery to die for and something for everyone from the beginners to the more experienced skiers. Bars and restaurants great apart from a certain Italian! Booking our return trip!

Visiting Schilthorn Piz Gloria was absolutely one of the highlights of my trip. The cable car ride itself was an incredible experience, smooth, comfortable, and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Swiss Alps. As we ascended, the scenery just kept getting more and more spectacular. At the top, the weather was perfect, which made the whole experience even more magical. The 360° views from Piz Gloria are truly stunning with snow-capped peaks, valleys, and endless mountain ranges that leave you speechless. The Bond-themed touches add a fun and unique twist to the visit, but the natural beauty alone is worth every penny. It’s not just a sightseeing trip, it’s an unforgettable adventure. Between the views, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, I can confidently say this was worth every moment and every cent. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Switzerland!

Somewhat pricey to take the gondola up to the top, but it's well worth it for the views. There is a bunch of James Bond history and plaquards. But the views alone are breathtaking. You should fefinitely wait for a clear day, othe you'll just be looking at the fog.

Break taking views! Certain areas were under construction, but it did not take away from our experience. Be sure to walk out to the point and enjoy time in one of the viewing boxes.

Was the filming location of a 007 movie. Granted it is not as high as Jungrafraujoch, but the views are equally fantastic. Highly recommended to make a trip here. There is a rotating restaurant at the tower area also as well that serves very decent buffet lunch.

Great experience. The cable car on the first stretch is supposedly the steepest in the world. Remembered to include the 9 Euro cheese / cold cut option, which is served at the revolving Piz Gloria restaurant. It comes with a drink and there was plenty of food to fill us up. And it tasted good, too. So pretty much a no-brainer. The view from the top was great. Unfortunately clouds descended while we were there and it even started to hail. Which kind of added to the whole experience. Some cool James Bond stuff - check out the bathroom mirrors! Unfortunately quite a lot of construction going on, which detracted from the whole experience. Will still give it 5 stars, but probably more like 4.5 due to construction, high cost and a very unpleasant guy in the ticket booth. Everything else was perfect and definitely an experience. Now back in the US and planning on watching On Her Majesty’s Secret Service tonight 😊

My less-than-ideal rating was solely due to the unfortunate timing of my visit. Otherwise, I would have missed the opportunity to go altogether. It was a heavily overcast day, because of that, I skipped exploring Birg and went straight up to Schilthorn instead. On top of the poor weather, Schilthorn was still under construction. After a quick browse through the gift shop, a short walk around the outdoor deck, and a light snack at the restaurant, it was already time to head back down. I’d have to return someday to truly experience the full beauty of this attraction. Hopefully on a clear day and once the construction is finally complete.

The views are priceless and it's definitely worth it to go! However, be warned that getting around through the construction is extremely difficult. It look 20 minutes to figure out how to go down to the Walk of Fame and the View Lounges. That, for me, was the best part. It's away from the hordes of people fighting to get the best selfie and closer to nature. You can see forever! The best time to go is usually between 15:00-18:00 in the summer (weather permitting) because the clouds tend to lift around that time.

Well maintained castle, modestly furnished, with a collection of interesting frescoes and murals. Strategically built on a small island, it used both the Lake Geneva and a moat created between the island and the mainland for defense. Our group had arrived in the late afternoon just in time to enjoy free wine tasting of some local wines, then proceeded to explore the medieval halls and underground chambers. The view from some rooms onto the lake and the Alps is stunning. It is the most visited monument in Switzerland.

This lakeside Castle with breathtaking view was stunning, pictures didn't do it justice. Its magical setting made it one of Switzerland’s most enchanting landmarks. I fully enjoyed my visit, highly recommend.

Château de Chillon is actually really big to explore, especially with the guided map they provide you. I was so tired, a lot of exploring new rooms that never seem like it would end. If you didn’t know, this castle inspired Prince Eric’s in The Little Mermaid. You can hear tons of water sounds by the prison area. It was relative peaceful for me as there weren’t much crowds and kids, so sometimes I got to explore rooms alone.

Beautiful castle (Little Mermaid was inspired on it) with lots of history. I really recommend taking the audio guide which is super complete. It lets you wonder alone around the castle which is a magical experience. The castle is in great conservation, and the dungeons are particularly beautiful. Would recommend this visit if you’re around. You can buy tickets directly upon arrival, and the audio guide takes like 2h to complete

The best view I’ve had from any castle I’ve visited so far. The castle is beautifully preserved, with authentic medieval furnishings that clearly took great effort to maintain. It’s generously open to the public, with access to nearly every corner—even up the creaky wooden staircases, which add to the sense of stepping back in time. Free entry for Swiss pass holders. Two hours or longer is needed.

Fascinating experience. We spent several hours wandering through the castle. The careful preservation of this site allows an understanding of history, with excellent access to all areas both indoors and outdoors and detailed information boards throughout. It is also a lovely lakeside walk from Montreux (after ferry from Lausanne) and a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating is opposite. A truly wonderful morning.

Chillon Castle is a medieval island castle located on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, near Montreux. It is the most visited historic monument in Switzerland. Come for their nice history and good lake views, indeed very photo worthy! After all it’s free with SWISS TRAVEL PASS.

Great tour with ear phones you point to displays and learn more. I spoke to a chocolate decorator who has been there 25 yrs and he loves working there. Learn how to evaluate chocolate quality and taste and then get to sample many varieties of their chocolates. Superb place!

Absolutely worth a visit! Maison Cailler is an amazing experience from start to finish. There’s plenty of parking space, which makes visiting super convenient. Inside, you get to enjoy lots of free tastings of their delicious, high-quality chocolates every bite is a treat! My family enjoyed it so much The museum is beautifully done, fun, and educational great for both adults and kids. Outside, there’s a lovely park where children can play and enjoy the fresh air while you take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. A perfect spot for families, chocolate lovers, and anyone visiting Switzerland. Highly recommended!

We went on their tour, and it was an good experience! They had a ton of free samples and some really cool education and history. I wouldn’t drive there for 3 hours, but if you’re in the area, it’s definitely a nice stop.

It’s a really interesting museum! I love how they present their history in such an interactive way, and the chocolate tasting was a great touch. Truly an experience for both adults and children! 🍫

Cailler museum was a pure delight. There was a separate production line just for samples. Loved every bit of the museum from the history of chocolates to modern day chocolate making in Switzerland. Of course the free samples and the discounted chocolates in the gift store were icing on the top!

The Cailler chocolate factory is a very interesting place to visit, with a well-designed tour that shows the history and production process. The experience is enjoyable and the chocolate tasting is definitely a highlight. It is a bit expensive, but still worth it for the quality of the visit. The shop at the end is excellent, offering a wide selection of high-quality chocolates and gifts

Arriving was a little intimidating. We went at a 4:00 on a Sunday, and the line waiting to enter the tour was already out the door. The way they have their store set up is very aesthetically pleasing. A whole wall full of chocolate bars! The tour its self was very entertaining. You are lead through different rooms where they tell you the story of their factory, with each room heavily decorated to tell you part of the story, going perfectly along with the audio tour. They had a chocolate machine making little chocolates right in front of you, which, after being wrapped, were then placed in a bowl specifically for you to eat! They had multiple testing stations after that, which I loved. It was all around worth every penny.

We were here in early July and it was a nice walk along the lake to this museum perched on a small hill in the middle of a lovely park. Please visit the grounds even if you do not step inside the museum. Nice views over the lake and pleasant outdoor Olympic related art and information sprinkled through the outdoor grounds and all of this is free to access. Inside it is a well curated place with lots of information for an Olympics fan. We did it all in about 2 hours. The gift shop is where you buy the entrance tickets. Pro tip: if you do have a ticket and are there during the daytime, you do NOT need a lunch reservation to simply have a drink on their glorious outdoor terrace at the restaurant on the top floor. We just asked the host if we could sit outside for a drink and he enthusiastically said of course! What views!!! Drinks were not cheap but not more expensive than any other restaurant. So if you are curious and didn’t make a lunch reservation, please do stop by and see if you can snag a seat outside. The staff were kind and helpful.

It is obviously a must visit museum if you are in the Olympic capital Lausanne. Everything is very well presented. I particularly love the video clips introducing every Olympic Games through the years, as every clip begins with important events of that year. I’d very much love to finish them all but my schedule doesn’t allow me to. All the collections are inspiring and hold collective memories of people from all over the world, some of which remind me of the days when I was little and watched on TV the Olympic Games with my father. The -1 floor is fun. View of the lake from the terrace of the restaurant is stunning. Free access for Swiss pass holders.

Very nice. We were desperately looking for a clean bathroom that’s also free lol. It’s nice to see the poster of the Beijing Olympic in 2008. Unfortunately we only found the poster card but not many other souvenirs options such as fridge magnet for the Beijing Olympic.

Free admission with the Lausanne city pass. Cool exhibition showcasing the history of the Olympics from ancient times, all the way through to 2026. Highlights include a section about art and design of the posters and iconography of the Olympics, as well as a well rounded gift shop with good items at all price ranges

Olympics museum is a must visit place for all Olympic fans. The location is stunning on the shores of lake Geneva in Lausanne. Infrastructure of museum is excellent with free locker rooms for storage. You study entire history of Olympics from its origin in Greece to revival of modern Olympics. There are archives of summer and winter Olympic games, mascots and models of all Olympic torches, Olympic uniforms etc. The museum used excellent multimedia to present everything. There are videos on projector screen which display opening ceremonies of all Olympic seasons. However, Olympics museum has lots of scope for expansion considering its huge space. You can have interactive games like FIFA museum in Zurich. A Hall of Fame can also be made featuring most celebrated Olympians of all times like Michael Phelps. A special section for upcoming Olympics can also be done. Hope to see these updates with passing time. Entry to Olympics museum is free with Swiss Travel Pass.

This museum is located facing Lausanne (Geneva)Lake with a nice park in front and is very well connected through road and metro rail network. It is a fantastic audio visual experience indoor as well out door and must see for tourists. Plan to spend at least 2 hours here and you will cherish it.

We spent there more than 2 hours. Interactive, with plenty of interesting information, surrounded by a nice park, with a great view and even access to a beach. If you are in Lausanne, must visit. Tickets are 20 CHF per person, no needed to buy in advance.

If you love historic buildings, Bern’s Old City is a must-see. The medieval architecture is stunning, and the streets are beautifully clean and well-organized. Shops are thoughtfully placed, so you can enjoy the views while exploring. A truly charming and unforgettable experience!

In my opinion, Bern's old town is one of the most beautiful and compact in the world. Its specialty is the arcades formed by the old buildings lining the streets. The arcades are lined with shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, etc. It is worth walking around the old town, also along the banks of the Aare River, and climbing to the Rosengarten to admire the magnificent view of the old town. Every time I visit Bern I feel amazed.

LOVE this pretty place! So historic and colorful, tons of lovely photo spots! Love the iconic fountain and huge clock tower, as well as all the cute trains and buses that came in different shapes and sizes 🚂🚌🇨🇭❤️. Was glad I dropped by Bern - after all it’s the capital of Switzerland, and a must drop by imo, even if it’s for a short day trip! 😆 I was really happy to be here 🥰👍.

A beautiful town, probably the nicest in Switzerland. In the morning it is less crowded and the streets are well conserved. The prices are really high, which makes the costs hardly affordable for foreigners

You are unwinding the clock back 500 years ago to experience the lifestyle in medieval time. The old street (made of sandstones), clock tower, cathedral surrounded by garden and river are breathtaking.

Beautiful and quaint little old town in the capital of Switzerland! I got there early so the streets were rather empty and it was nice taking a slow stroll down this street. The street was lined with familiar brands/shops, the trams ran down both sides and I almost felt like I was transported back to medieval times - except the modern shops bring me back to the present. If you walk further down, you’ll end up at the Bear Pit, another little tourist attraction of Bern.

Definitely worth the visit, the building is beautifully crafted. If you walk behind the building you will have an excellent view overlooking the River. Lots of people were having picnics and relaxing here.

Solo travelers are not allowed to climb the towers, for suicide prevention reasons. You can find another tourist and ask to accompany them, but without the employee seeing this. Don't let them know you are strangers. There's a small fee to climb the towers and it's well worth it. Basel Minster was built between the 11th and 16th centuries in a blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles. After the 1356 earthquake, it was significantly rebuilt incorporating Gothic elements such as pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and large stained-glass windows. The cathedral is made of red sandstone and is notable for its two main towers, St. George’s and St. Martin’s, and its patterned tile roof. The Minster served as the Catholic cathedral until the Reformation in 1529, after which it became a Reformed Protestant church. The Gallus Gate at Basel Minster is the oldest Romanesque figure portal in the German-speaking world, built around 1185. In the tympanum is Christ as Judge of the World, accompanied by Peter and a donor figure, while the lintel below shows the Parable of the Ten Virgins. During the Reformation in Basel (1529), iconoclasm took place at Basel Minster as part of the city’s shift from Catholicism to Protestantism. Religious images, statues, and altars that were seen as idolatrous were removed or destroyed. The interior today remains relatively bare compared to its original medieval design.

It was originally built in the 1000’s as a Roman Catholic Cathedral and became a Protestant church. There’s no fee to get in the church but there’s a fee to go up the top. Behind the church is the Rhine River.

Don’t miss the chance to reach the top of the church. While climbing, it might seem like you’ve reached the end, but be sure to check—there’s a good chance there’s a way to go even higher."

Had a free walk around then spotted people paying to go up the towers. We tried this for a small charge and it's well worth the steep steps to go to the 3 levels available. Bit tight at times depending on how many people go up but numbers are controlled.

A very beautiful and nice cathedral! You can have an amazing view over Basel from the top!

Basel Minster is absolutely worth a visit! I’ve climbed several church towers across Switzerland, but this one had the narrowest spire staircase I’ve ever squeezed through! It’s a bit of a tight spiral toward the top, but that only adds to the adventure. Once you reach the viewing platform, you’re rewarded with panoramic views of Basel, the Rhine, and even into France and Germany on a clear day. The cathedral itself is beautifully maintained, with intricate stonework and a peaceful courtyard. It’s a perfect mix of charm, challenge, and postcard-worthy scenery. Don’t miss it!

Outstanding camping ay Bankenhoff. You simply will not find a better campsite in Europe for amenities. 3 washing machines, 3 tumble dryers, Dishwasher and the best w Shower rooms and toilets in have ever come across. This is all topped off with great service from the staff

Wow. The fog over the lake was so majestic, and the town itself was very pretty. Also the ducks were friendly.

The village Titisee in Germany is a very neat nd tiny with hygiene sorrounding. It’s famous for CuCuo clock manafacture nd for sorrounding scenic beauty. It also lies along the Black Forest regions.

We don’t live nearby but we love when we get to come here! Titisee is a beautiful lake and place, perfect to relax, enjoy beautiful nature and appreciate the good things in life. And there are also so many things to do and visit nearby, it’s a wonderful destination. We already stayed at two hotels here and both were top notch, and the lake was as inviting each time. Beautiful!

A fabulous day out while only holiday from France very easy to find great roads if you have Motorcycle. One of the highest lakes in Germany .

It was wonderful great view on the lake from every restaurants hotels the ground and they had great boat service . The kids can also steal the boat with saftey vests on for protection and after a long day u can go to a nice restaurant and eat nicely and after have a ice cream if its warm .And after that u can go on a Ferris wheel with a great view on the lake and mountains ⛰️ u can also if u have furry friends u can take them on the ferris wheel 🎡 and on the boat 🚢 ride have fun on ur visit.

Visited during the winter off-peak season, so most of the stores were closed. But the views were still absolutely stunning! Everything was covered with a layer of snow, adding a touch of magic to the landscape.

A large and very impressive place, with beautiful interior architecture. The main hall is stunning and worth the visit. However, the climb to the top is not particularly special. Once you reach the upper level, you can pay extra to go a bit higher, but it’s unnecessary and not worth the money. The stairs are narrow, making it extremely difficult to pass when people are coming in the opposite direction — the same problem on the way down. You can also see the bell up close, but be aware that the sound is deafening.

Freiburg Cathedral is absolutely beautiful, full of incredible details everywhere you look. The architecture is stunning. Every corner of the cathedral shows amazing craftsmanship. It’s truly a must-see! ✨

It's free to visit no entry fee needed. Loved the tinted glasswork and the atmosphere. Very peaceful as other churches around. What catches the eye is the architecture. Worth a visit.

Cathedral’s history started being Romanesque church around 1200, transitioned to Gothic structure in 1250s (inspired by nearby Strasbourg cathedral) with West Tower being completed in 1330. While the city was heavily bombed in WW2, cathedral survived with minor damage (likely due to being notable landmark for Allied Bombers).

I love visiting Cathedrals! Each city has their own unique church and style and I just love the architectural designs on them! This one was one of my favorites! The interior was just breathtaking and you can tell how much effort went into the design because each statue is so intricate!

I became aware of Freiburger Münster on my first day in Freiburg. It's really hard to miss the sight of it. I visited it on my first night when it was lit up. The enormous size of it and amount of decorative detail left me speechless. One day I noticed that the front entrance was open for visitors, so I took the opportunity. I wasn't prepared for the grandure that awaited me inside. The vast volume of the interior left my mouth hanging open many times as I analyzed the columns and ceilings. I spent alot of time studying the stained glass windows which depict many vivid stories. What's great about the windows is that you absolutely can't experience them the same way from outside. The quality of light inside the cathedral, from the outside light when it hits the windows, is only fit for a structure this caliber. Please, out of respect, obey the signs and dont walk over or through the areas which are clearly marked off. Also, please dont take videos and photo's of the inside, just enjoy the experience of the moment.

An easy nature trail accessible with asphalt, but its elevation is not easy for those who have difficulty walking or strollers. Relatively reasonable entrance prices. Most of it is shaded and pleasant. The entire trail and the beauty you see in the waterfall of the humpbacked trees are very beautiful and a highly recommended place.

The Triberg Waterfalls are really beautiful and worth seeing! The views are amazing, and the walk through the forest feels fresh and peaceful. You can take great photos and enjoy nature all around. However, the entry fee felt a bit high for such a short walk, and the place can get quite crowded, especially on weekends. Parking can also be tricky if you come late. Overall, it’s a lovely place to visit once — great for nature lovers, but be ready for a bit of a crowd and some walking uphill.

The ticket (8€ per adult) also gives you access to a few other museums (so do this one first!). Dog friendly. Pretty waterfall. A bit of a slow and steady hike up to the top. Lots of people with camera tripods capturing the perfect pics.

Visited the waterfalls for free. Get on the path to the Froschbrunnen (Frog Fountain), ignoring all signs saying no path to the waterfalls. Once at the Frog Fountain take the right-most path from it & stay on this as it curves left around the hill & you will eventually see the swarms of tourists down below you on the lower waterfall paths. Take the first available path down to join the path around the waterfalls. You can either exit back the way you came, or go out through the turnstile that the paying tourists come through at the bottom of the waterfalls.

This place is in a great location, but is very dirty and has broken doors, broken lights, a broken shower. It is a beautiful home on the outside, and is in a great location but it has been very poorly managed and neglected and it is obvious when you stay there. Great if all you care about is the location, but avoid it if you want to have a decent place to stay.

A "Real Eyeopener"! This compact "old town" area of Southeast Colmar is a place "not to be missed" by visitors! It gets its name due to the "historic houses" built on both sides of the small, meandering, Lauch River.... and the "fairy tale vibe". The area is wonderful to walk around-- and has cobbled streets, colourful "half-timbered" houses, and a "covered market". It can also be seen by boat. It has been awarded by TripAdvisor the esteemed "Certificate of Excellence". It is indeed well worth a visit. It is no wonder that it has been rated as one of the "top of places" to visit/things to do, while in Colmar. It will definitely add to one's memories of the visit. Lovely time walking around Home Little Venice there's so much more than the picturesque bridge's to see with a few lovely restaurants along the canal, and little boat trip back and forth . It's only a short walk from here to the indoor market . My recommendations would be early evening when all the lights come on for beautiful pictures .

Yesterday, my family and I visited Europa Park in Rust, Germany, one of the largest and most famous theme parks in Europe. The park is beautifully designed, with different sections representing various European countries, each offering unique rides, attractions, and delicious food options. We were impressed by the variety of cuisines available, allowing us to taste dishes from different cultures all in one place. The park is very well-organized, and the rides were absolutely thrilling well maintained and enjoyable for all ages. However, our experience wasn’t perfect. The biggest issue was the extreme heat and the lack of cooling systems in waiting areas, restaurants, and cafes. Unlike many other major theme parks around the world, Europa Park doesn’t seem to have AC, fans, or shaded cooling spots in queues or dining areas, which made the visit quite uncomfortable, especially under the scorching sun. Another downside was the behavior of some employees. At the Arthur ride, after finishing the attraction, we went to check our ride photos, and the staff member was extremely rude and disrespectful , speaking to us harshly simply because she claimed she couldn’t hear us properly even though we clearly stated our cart number. Later, in the Lindt chocolate shop (Switzerland Section), an employee gave us unwelcoming looks and side-eyes, likely because we wear hijabs. Her attitude made us so uncomfortable that we left without buying anything, despite our initial excitement to get some chocolates. Overall, Europa Park is a fantastic theme park with incredible rides, great food, and a well-structured layout. However, the lack of cooling systems in hot weather and the unprofessional behavior of some staff members really affected our experience. The park should improve guest comfort by adding fans or AC in waiting areas and train employees to be more respectful and inclusive toward visitors from all backgrounds.

First time at Europa Park and it definitely lived up to the hype. The park is huge, super clean and really well organized. My ride ranking: 1. Blue Fire was my absolute favorite. Smooth, fast and so much fun. I rode it twice and would have gone again if I could. 2. Voltron and Silver Star both came in close behind. Voltron’s launch is wild, and Silver Star’s height and airtime make it unforgettable. I also did both of these twice. 3. Wodan looks amazing but is way too loud and rough for my taste. 4. Euro Mir is a cool idea, but it just gives you a headache more than anything. Overall, an awesome park with tons to do and a great atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

This place is amazing. There are so many different roller coasters and so many different stuff to do and the rides are incredible, best in the world. In the perfect condition so all the costers are very smooth which is very important. So you can enjoy entire day without having neck pain. I visited a few disneylands parks and in comparison this one is way nicer.

It’s amazing theme park, I think the best in Europe, the approach to disabled people is amazing and so respectful 🙏🏻 The only thing that really bother me is that people smoking all over the park and it’s so gross, please define some area for smoking and that’s all :) Why small kids need to breathe this poison? Beautiful, with several attractions for kids and adults. We started first attraction before 11:00, allthough official openkng was at 11:00. We also saw the parade of halloween which was nice. Did not have time for the shows as we wanted to do as many attractions as possible. Queue was also not too bad, except for few attractions , all others were below 30 min, some even below 10, we managed to do more then 20! Only Contra the parking places are so small that if you have a big car might be difficult to get out .

It was a very amazing experience in the hallowinter season ! There were many people but it was a public holiday in France so it's normal. The employees are very quick and gentle. You will not regret your experience in this park if you like coasters or not. There is some experiences for all the people.

This place was awesome. The monkeys just walk around unbothered, the staff are super friendly and we caught it at a time when there were so many sweet babies to see. Be respectful and follow the rules... Some don't, which is unfortunate. These are wild animals not pets.

A very unique experience. The monkeys are uncaged in open areas. It is a very safe atmosphere. There are quite a few staff members monitoring and guiding us through our walk in the park. We are also informed on Do's and Dont's before we enter the park. It was really interesting to see the monkeys up close and they are also well behaved, doing their own thing. Free parking available onsite. There is a cafe/restaurant and a gift shop present here too. The staff are really kind and helpful.

It's a nice activity to do with children. From Selestat train station It's a 10 minute drive. If you don't have a acres, there is a bus (500) that will take you there . The monkeys trail took us around 30 minutes maximum, but outside, there is a cafeteria and a nice picnic area, and a great obstacle trail for kids, and a small playground. Overall our visit was around 3 hours. Beautiful forest. Stroller friendly.

Highly recommend! Lots of monkeys to see in a very beautiful and well kept forest. Aside from the animals there is also a really nice playground for older kids and a separate smaller one for younger kids. The whole family enjoyed it!

We visited on August 3rd for the “Breakfast with the Monkeys” experience – simply unforgettable! 🐒💫 You get to feed the free-roaming Barbary macaques and watch them playfully explore the forest up close. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and shares lots of fascinating information – you can tell they truly love their work and care for the animals. At the end, you even receive wonderful photos of your visit as a keepsake. The park is well-maintained, natural, and perfect for animal and nature lovers. Highly recommended!

Lovely chapel at the top of a mountain. The view on sunny days is incredible, you can see as far as Strasbourg. Lots of pretty buildings to visit and learn about, the place oozes history. The café is very good, and for adventurers, take the path down to the natural water source. You can even drink the water, so fill your bottles before going for a walk!

Architectural wonders. I really surprised and wondered on this cathedral architecture. It amazing and look very nice. There is no entrance fee. But there is security and he will check your bags. Inside of the cathedral is also great. You will enjoy it. Everything about this cathedral is displayed on the screen inside the cathedral that really valuable. Not too crowded if you have patience you may get nice photos of the cathedral. In side there is clock and its make bell on specific time.

The overall experience is good but was busy. So many people always in the way. The history of it being built was very interesting. It's amazing that structures can remain in the same location basically untouched for such a long time. The clock in the back is a highlight that you don't see in any other churches.

On a foggy morning in November we o pop aid a visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral in Strasbourg. We missed the morning opening time so we made sure we were standing in line for the afternoon opening hours. The queue, although long, moved quickly, and once inside we could see all of the stained glass windows and the mechanical clock in the far corner. We were there when the clock struck one o’clock - so not much movement on the animated figures at the top of the clock! The cathedral is worth a visit - even in winter!

We came for the Luminous exhibition in the evening. It was very beautiful, colorful and joyful with the show and the music in the background also was so beautiful. If you come for the show better come at least 20 minutes early to pick up the good seat. Totally recommend the show !

Amazing museum to get lost. Plan plenty of time to be there. We stayed the whole days. The museum conditions of w giant halls, planes the roof trops, outdoor exhibition of tanks, planes, playground and amusement parc. We liked best : slide down of one of the planes, Concore& Tupolev, fastest car in the world " Blue Flame" Monstertrack, car of " back from the future".... In hall 1 you can find the IMAX cinema, museum shop, American dream cars, military tanks, planes, helicopters and other vehicles, aircraft hangar, organs and bicycle racing. Hall 2 is allabout motorracing, formula 1, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ralleycars, automobile from the beginning, 20s 40s 50s and modern automobile. On the rooftopyou find the Concord, Tupolev and the submarine.

What an incredible place. It's mind-blowing the exhibits on display. Wild, varied and so many !!! You can view it all in a few hours but for sure take a day out to go to this mind bending place. The Concorde and the Kondcordski Tuplolv tu144 are magnificent. Scary climbing up the stairs and the tilt is a bit steep but well worth going. The cars also , so many cool cars, from supercars, to pre war to hot rods. Exhibits on race cars, a cool display of F1 cars. They also have a Great shop . Deffo pace yourself and take time !! They also have another museum called technik Speyer ... That has the Russian Space shuttle the Buran !!!

One of the most fascinating museums l've ever been to because of its absolute mint condition of trains, planes and automobiles :) Expect to spend a few hours to a whole day to fully enjoy this huge museum! Very special to see in person was the supersonic airplanes …Concorde and Russian tupolev (Tu-144) and a real U-boat !! (Line ups may vary from 10min to 1hour) Great collection of Lambo’s, Ferrari’s and of course every classic German sports cars. Lots of outdoor parking (5.00€ ) Bonus: some of the special collection exhibits are interactive by putting 2€ coin fee which gives you a great real life example of a steam locomotive wheels in action with sounds, very impressive so just do it !

We've been wanting to go here for a few years as we passed it on the way to someplace else. So much to see and really loved walking inside the Concorde jet and the U boat. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy but not too bad. Parking is 5 euros. Lots of cars, tanks, motorcycles and more. Great for a family to spend a half day and the playground was fantastic with rides too.

Great, but it could be so much better. There are some amazing exhibits here, but they're displayed in a ramshackle and random manner. Having the planes at stage angles must have seemed like a good idea (maybe after a beer or two), but I think they'd be better level allowing people to walk through easily and concentrateon looking at the interiors fully.. Information on some of the exhibits is sparse or cut-and-paste from others. It is certainly worth a visit, but it has the potential to be absolutely amazing.

Most fascinating museum I've ever been to. To actually enter a Concorde was a blast. Definitely spending a whole day the next time. Absolutely a family experience. Very nice staff. So much to see and explore.

Incredible experience! It went way beyond my expectations. I didn’t think there would be this much to see. My main reason for going was the Buran and Apollo exhibits, but I ended up really enjoying the other sections too. There are dozens of cars, motorcycles, and airplanes on display. You also get to see flown items from Apollo, Gemini, Shuttle, and ISS missions. Capsule parachutes, Shuttle parts, astronaut gear, and even a Moon rock from Apollo 15… Such an amazing collection. The Lunar Module looks almost exactly like the real thing, and the lunar suits are just as impressive. Absolutely a must-visit!

Amazing display of land, water, air and space vehicles. I did not expect the huge collection of well-displayed artifacts that allowed up cloce inspection. The Lufthansa 747 is mounted high in the air, can be seen from a distance, and still allows interior visits. Worth a special trip.

Walking through the castle and soaking up its centuries-old history was an unforgettable experience.

Very beautiful view over the whole city including the hills, the river, and a breathtaking sunset in the horizon. The garden is sooo big and “instagrammable” with many spots for selfies and photos. The castle is not big but has a beautiful winery, restaurant, small museum, beautiful facade, but most importantly an amazing high terrace overlooking the city. The tickets include a ride on the cable tramway taking you all the way to the tip of the mountain. A beautiful ride and nice view.

Absolutely beautiful place! The views over Heidelberg are stunning, and the castle itself is full of history and charm. Great mix of ruins and restored areas, with lots to explore. A must-see if you’re in the area! The bergbahn is really close by too if you have tickets to go back into altstadt

This castle truly has a mystic vibe to it! The red-brick theme, and the fact that its in ruins but still very well maintained adds to its appeal. Highly recommend visiting in fall/autumn as it looks super aesthetic with the green-yellow-red-brown leaves all around the magnificent castle! We didn't go inside but just taking a stroll around it and outside was super beautiful and makes for a good outing in Heidelberg!

Visiting Heidelberg Castle felt like stepping into a storybook. The walk up is a bit steep, but completely worth it for the stunning views over the city and the Neckar River. The castle itself has a beautiful mix of grandeur and ruin, which gives it so much character and history. I especially enjoyed wandering through the gardens and taking in the scenery. My recommendation is to take your time and just enjoy the atmosphere as well as to go before the sunset. Highly recommended!

Highly Recommend 👌👌👌 Heidelberg Castle is absolutely worth a visit! The views over the city and river are breathtaking, and the mix of old architecture and history makes it special. Don’t miss the giant wine barrel or the Pharmacy Museum. Go at sunset for amazing photos. The only problem is parking especially on the weekends, this place is crowded with visitors.

I didnt go into the palace(entrancee fee was around 20EUR) but it was so beautiful even only outside. I saw the panoramic view to the city. It was perfect.

Beautiful cathedral. Lovely garden area as you come in. I was in a bit of a hurry so I was not able to figure out how to climb the tower but I hope I can come back sometime and try. Crypt was neat to see. Fun murals of gospel scenes above the clerestory level along the nave. Some interesting sid chapels to include one of the more vibrant colored crucifixion paintings I've seen in a cathedral.

I really like the cathedral — it’s even more beautiful than the one in Speyer. I adore the red stones and the many towers. It’s so happily situated within the rest of the city. I felt very happy in these surroundings.

Be careful if there is a service happening and be respectful of the space if so. There is a museum but I didn't go inside there. The architecture in the cathedral is worth the visit to come see. Be aware that as of may 2025 there is major construction happening on the outside of the cathedral so it is covered in scaffolding. Its free to enter the church but donations are welcome. Be prepared to translate most of the signage if you do not speak German. There is a wheelchair ramp going into the main section of the cathedral and the main cathedral floor is flat but all of the side rooms and passageways have steps and are not handicap accessible.

Wonderful cable car ride from Rudesheim, views of vineyards and surrounding countryside, very peaceful but a bit chilly in the wind. A short walk to the monument, bit of a hill, but worth it. Amazing views of the Rhine and all around, the monument is massive, really impressive and the history (to read on placards) is very interesting. Nice little outdoor takeaway for drinks and snacks, note.. you pay a deposit for proper cups. Restaurant as well but didn't use it. A place well worth seeing!!

We had a good tour up here, we got the ring tickets which included cable car through the vineyard , chairlift and boat back. The view at the monument is beautiful totally worth it and the hike through the forest to the chairlift is good too.

Impressive monument, fun to ride the gondola up there. There is a little restaurant up there. Impressive views! It's worth going up to see. If the weather is good, it is a nice day. We had poor weather so we didn't stay long. You can ride the gondola down (keep your ticket) or walk down through the vineyards.

Lovely views up here, was on a Rhine tour up through here on the way back to Frankfurt. Amazing views on a blue sky day. One of the best views to end a day

Super nice spot to enjoy the sunset and the sweeping views over the Rhine valley. I enjoyed the fact that the French contemplated blowing up the whole thing during their occupation of the area after WW1. Fortunately, they didn't. Hence: Vive la France.

Location is convenient along the river so if one is coming from a river cruise docking, can walk over in minutes. There are a lot of people, so would recommend booking tickets ahead of time. We decided to go late and managed to get 2 of the last 3 tickets within the 2 hrs before closing. Do note that there are discount tickets closer to end of day for a reason. The stations close half an hour before the entire museum close (6pm close then 5:30pm stations are cleared). With the amount of people, it is hard to go through everything before stations stop if it’s close to closing time. We went on a bad day: close to closing time, weekend, and a day where shops in the town are closed for All Saints’ Day, so everyone went to the museum. The layout of the museum does not allow for multiple ways to get to different floors/rooms. There is only 1 elevator for guests to use. So it will be a long wait going between floors and stations to get any free chocolate (we got none… too long of lines and stations were closing). But overall, still a good place to visit. Would just suggest to not go late in the day but more during daytime in a non-weekend, that should make the experience more enjoyable.

I had a wonderful time at the chocolate museum. Plenty of rooms with easy-going info about the origins of chocolate, cocoa, its processing, packaging, transport, and commercialization. You can see in loco a section of a production line and taste a sample of chocolate. Also some interesting historical info on where it all began. It is a great museum for families, kids or only adults. plenty of games and experiments for the young folks. I was so entertained that I almost forgot to take photos. If you are in town don’t miss this museum.

The entrance was guarded by a tall female staff who looked very angry and not at all welcoming. The museum content was very extensive, curated with great detail and academic accuracy, very educational. You also get to try the milk chocolate as it was produced. We only wish there was a water fountain or at least a vending machine that sells water because the chocolates were quite rich and sweet. The cafe staff were very attentive and hospitable, price was reasonable. The entire experience has been most positive but was ruin at the end. I was waiting for my family who went to the washroom by the main door. The museum was closing in a few minutes, I wanted to go to the bench next to the door to put my coat on. The same tall angry female employee from the ticket entrance came to me, wouldn’t allow me a moment for coat and ask me to go out the door because “we are closing in a minute”. There were still people in the gift shop, at the coat check and coming from the bathrooms at the time. Being the only Asian female in the hall I felt unfairly targeted and discriminated.

It was in the year 2025, during Christmas, I was exploring the very famous Christmas markets in Köln. It was extremely cold and I needed some hot chocolate. There was none available in the market. So we decided to step inside the cafe and we were awestruck by their service. Even though itwas heavily crowded, we got two seats quickly and ordered their hot chocolate and banana waffle. The hot chocolate was extremely delicious, particularly with the cream on top. The waffle had one white chocolate ice cream, something that I had never tasted before and it was extremely delicious. Best part is that the prices were extremely reasonable. I would go there again and agan.

We visited the Lindt Chocolate Museum on Sunday the 23rd, and it was very busy. Luckily, Max, one of the friendly floor walkers, helped us book tickets online via QR code. The museum was more about learning the history and process of chocolate than eating it, but there were a few tasty samples. The highlight was the wafer dipped in the chocolate fountain—absolutely delicious. Pro tip: when you reach the machinery section, head to the right side for two sample opportunities, as most people go left. Overall, informative and enjoyable, though not quite what I expected.

For 18 euros it’s not the best value for money. There was a good amount of information to read around the museum and the chocolate making room was incredible. However, it was very busy causing a huge amount of queuing and not much chance to enjoy the experience. The free chocolates were a nice touch but for the price of admission there was very little. Gift shop at the end had lots of choice but definitely pricey.

The museum is very interesting but has however a few points for improvement that would make the experience more pleasant. I visited today (23/11/25) at 12. Firstly, for the entire duration of the tour, we couldn't find a single toilet. Maybe it was not properly signed? At the ticket counter, the the ticket officer was unbelievably rude and rushing to pay, even though there was no queue and I was just ensuring she understood the proper time slot that I wanted. Time slots are also another big problem. Unfortunately, the same time slot is allocated to more people than it should be allowed to. This leads to queues during the tour and you can't actually enjoy the experience at its fullest. Also, the crowd is not properly managed by the personnel (for example, the queues for the entry mixes with the ones for the museum cafè and cloakroom), leading to chaos. Neverthless, it was an enjoyable experience.

Utterly breathtaking and awe inspiring Cathedral. Immensely beautiful, clean and free to enter. Excellent support service in the Information centre. Many lovely older worlde cafes nearby.Toilets outside the Cathedral are clean and well maintained.

The Cologne Cathedral is absolutely amazing and breathtaking! Its enormous size and stunning Gothic architecture make it one of the most impressive landmarks I’ve ever visited. Even though it’s often crowded, everything feels well organized, and the atmosphere remains peaceful and respectful. It’s also right next to the Hauptbahnhof (main train station), so it’s very easy to reach — perfect for a quick stop or a longer visit. The gift shop is lovely, with nice souvenirs and books about the cathedral’s history. I especially recommend visiting on rainy days — the interior feels even more magical and calming, with the sound of rain outside and the light coming through the stained glass windows. Truly a must-see spot in Cologne!

During our Rhine River Cruise, we came here to see this great piece of Gothic architecture. We came with our guide. Since they are not allowed inside, we saw it ourselves. It took more than 600 years to complete this magnificent Church. It was declared World Heritage Site in 1996. It is most visited landmark in Germany. More than 6 million tourist visit every year. It is the third tallest Church in the world. This medieval Church is continuously renovated. It is very beautiful from inside. The stained window glasses and other piece of art and paintings are magnificent. It's open from 10 to 5 from Monday to Saturday and 1 to 4 on Sundays. Minimum one hour is required to see it properly. The trolley bags and other big bags are not allowed inside.

We came for the Christmas markets but were wowed by this cathedral. Absolutely stunning. It is free, which is amazing!!! We walked right in. We did pay €20 for the whole family to go up the south tower. We did not buy these ahead. It was a little tight up the stairs. 535 of them. We saw the bells and they rang when we were by them, which was cool.

One of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever seen. Cologne Cathedral isn’t just a building — it dominates the city. The closer you stand, the more unreal it feels: every detail, every shadow, every tower looks carved with impossible precision. Inside, the atmosphere drops into silence instantly. It’s calm, powerful, almost overwhelming in the best way. If you’re in Cologne, this is the one place you absolutely can’t skip. Truly unforgettable.

I love this place. We come from Belgium and we love oldtimer cars. Every time we see all these beautiful car on the road. They always have German license plate and I love seeing them. Today we got a chance to visit it here and I was so so so happy. All these cars are amazing. It's really like a dream for a lot of people to see all these beautiful cars. It's a really nice place to visit and definitely gave me more inspiration to save money to own one of this in the future! 🤣 But really I love this place so much🥺

Absolutely worth a visit. There are classic, rare and modern cars are stored and displayed. You will find everything from vintage icons and historic cars to unique high-end contemporary models. What makes it especially enjoyable is the freedom to walk around and explore up close. However, some of the vehicles are kept in glass storage bays. There are also a few specialty shops selling automotive memorabilia, model cars, accessories and other interesting stuff. Whether you’re deeply passionate about cars or simply appreciate beautiful design, Classic Remise offers something special. It is a relaxed and visually impressive venue that celebrates automotive culture which is definitely worth the visit.

WOW! This place is an absolute must for any car lovers, there is something for everyone here and entry is free, it has a restaurant with great prices too. A beer is only 5 euros, service was brilliant but above all the exhibition itself is truly mind blowing for any car fan. There must be 500 cars here and some you will only ever see at this location such is the rarity of some of them. Bring a battery bank for your phone if you're planning on taking pics as you'll soon exhaust your phone battery in this place. One of the highlights of my Germany trip, absolutely loved being here. I dare say I will be back.

A must stop and see if you like high end cars or classic cars. A wide selection of expensive cars, also speciall cars, from VW betale to Bugatti Veron. Lots of Aston Martin. Cool to see the work shops. Free entry. A little out side of the City center, but bus stop just out side.

Went here to watch Dortmund’s Champions League game against Bilbao and it was such a nice experience. Not a Dortmund fan so I was a neutral coming there to just enjoy the experience. The building was pretty easy to access once you’re in it but it could get confusing when you’re not sure where to enter as there are north and south entrance. Clean toilet, good beer and nice atmosphere.

Great experience from start to finish! We explored the pitch, stands, players’ tunnel and locker rooms — an amazing behind-the-scenes look at one of Europe’s most iconic stadiums. The atmosphere, history and energy of Signal Iduna Park are truly something special. A must-visit for every football fan! 🟡⚫️

Enormous industrial complex that was changed into a free tourist zone. There are some events organized here, they were even getting ready for one, when I was there, so you would assume that's a perfect example of revitalization effort. Unfortunately that's not entirely true. Yes instead of a toxic plant there is a museum and a forest, however that is also all that's here. Some of the equipment was left under the sun on its own, getting rusty and overgrown, making it look quite sad. Most of the buildings are closed down and the guided tour shows just a fraction of them. There is also no possibility to go underground inside the coal mine, to explore its history. Thinking it was the biggest one is quite a shame. Overall even though the complex makes an amazing first expression the longer you walk through it the sadder it gets. Wasted potential...

My visit to the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex was an absolutely magnificent experience. It is truly awe-inspiring to see how this former industrial behemoth has been masterfully repurposed into a vibrant cultural landscape, housing museums, exhibition centers, a university, and more. The vision required to preserve such a monumental piece of history while breathing new life into it is simply remarkable. ​The sprawling 100-hectare site has been ingeniously transformed into a verdant park, with fantastic cycling and walking paths weaving through the imposing structures. This unique blend of industrial heritage and natural beauty means you can have a wonderful visit just enjoying the park, even if history isn't your main interest. ​Zollverein truly offers a full day of exploration and enjoyment for the entire family. With delightful cafes, excellent restaurants, and even a casino on the grounds, it's impossible to feel a moment of boredom. ​I was unfortunately pressed for time and could only spend three hours there, which was barely enough to scratch the surface. I am already planning my next trip to fully immerse myself in everything this incredible place has to offer. ​A Special Tip: To truly grasp the immense scale of the complex, I wholeheartedly recommend exploring it by bike or taking one of the guided cart tours. It's an experience that is absolutely worth it!

So pleasantly surprised by this place, it is insta worth it on its own but don’t miss out on the Ruhr museum, worth getting the full ticket to see the special exhibits. Humongous place to see not only the story is the mines but the area, its people and work. Could easily spend there several hours and still not see everything. Pair with Red Dot design museum in the same complex!

Parking is free, and information offices offer maps of this former industrial area, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The map shows the locations of the various exhibitions and indicates a circular route that takes about an hour and a half to walk at a slow pace. On Sundays when I was there, tourist trains run in the site and there are also guided tours. The ticket offices display the prices of the different tickets. I paid €10 for the Ruhr Museum and the Portal der Industriekultur, which has a panoramic terrace. This coal mine, began operating in 1932. Together with the processing plant, it occupied an area of about 100 hectares. It closed in 1986 and began its transformation into a cultural center in 1990.

A beautiful place. A huge mine listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The area around the mine is vast and green, and there's even a small playground for children. There's ample parking for cars. There's a small café on the grounds where you can enjoy a coffee or snack while waiting to enter the mine. Prices are reasonable. I recommend visiting this architectural wonder.

Surprisingly wonderful repurposing of an industrial site as a cultural centre. The juxtaposition of the buildings and metalwork with reclaiming nature is striking, and we could have easily have spent hours more wandering around than we had the time for during our visit. Easy to dismiss at a glance on the internt but remarkably affecting in person. Very glad we stopped to see it.

This made for a fascinating few hours. It's all quiet now but you can imagine the noise, heat and dust when it was operating. It has been very skilfully transformed into a coal museum and there is a large area to wander around by the coking plant.
