A must see when traveling to Switzerland. It is so stunning in the Fall. We had a small cook out to eat lunch, and enjoyed coffee and cake in the little coffee shop. Bring water and munchies and have a picnic....so worth it!

Nice place! There is a restaurant that's more on the pricey side but super unique menu options. There is also a kids menu with nuggets an d pasta. There is also a playground for the kids. There is a nice nature trail hike option as well if you want to walk more. We came here for a quick stop but you have to pay to enter. I have a family of 5 and paid 33 CHF to get in. We'll worth it. The water is crystal clear and you get to see some large trout.

Bodies of Water
Lake Thun is a stunning alpine lake located in the Bernese Oberland of Switzerland. It offers a range of activities such as kayaking, boat rentals, hiking trails, and swimming beaches. The town of Interlaken serves as an excellent base for exploring the region, nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz with easy access to the iconic Jungfrau, Monch, and Eiger mountains.
A gorgeous stretch of blue and teal with trees on either side of the water is nothing short of spectacular. I was completely in awe when we got on the boat. The lake was magnificent and the colours were gorgeous. We saw houses on the edge of the lake and mountains hovering near them. There was also a small waterfall somewhere in the middle. But as the evening progressed, the winds became extremely cold to a point where it became intolerable and we had to step inside. The boat itself was quite old, beautiful, and well-maintained. There is a restaurant and a snack bar but you will need to be seated in the dining area to be served. It can get crowded so you may want bring some snacks and beverages for the long ride. P.S. A Swiss Travel Pass is an ideal option to avoid long queues.

A dreamlike corner of Switzerland: Lake Thun Switzerland is breathtaking in every way, but Lake Thun has a special kind of magic. Surrounded by mountains, charming villages, and historic castles, it’s the perfect place to disconnect, breathe in fresh air, and marvel at nature. The water has a mesmerizing turquoise color, and every spot looks like it belongs on a postcard. Whether you’re sailing, strolling along the shore, or simply sitting down to take in the view, this lake offers peace and beauty in its purest form.

Enjoyed this boat ride especially on a nice weather day. View was gorgeous.

Lake Thun has absolutely amazing scenery. We spent almost an entire day there and still couldn't get enough. Starting in the morning, we enjoyed the view from St. Beatus Cave, getting a panoramic picture of the lake from above. Then we continued our adventure by ship, circling the lake and savoring every corner. The lake has very clear water, with beautiful typical farmhouses and the Swiss Alps in the background, adding to the picturesque setting. Every corner of the lake was stunning, perfect for healing and taking a break from your busy life.

Best place for minerals - no doubt about that! Dear Travelers, Morat (Murten in Swiss German) is a piece of Paradise. In this Swiss made heaven, there is one unmissable place if you like stones, bracelets, neck laces, crystals... Occasionally, they also propose wooden made sculptures of Buddhas, which they are importing in fair-trade. This family business is owned and run by the most likeable people, who are in my eyes the purest expression of the best bread of Swiss mentality, which is fairness, kindness and impeccability, professionalism, and passion. I have never seen such a place in terms of quality, and cherry on the pie, the prices are the lowest I've found in this category. It's located at the beginning of the main street. Go there, have a look, and make your own opinion, you'll agree with me, you can put that in the bank. I do not have any interest in publishing this, except the pleasure to share my own repeatedly pleasant experience and thank them for their kindness. I live in Geneva, which is not particularly close of Murten, but I would go there just for visiting them again. Have fun! François

(Translated by Google) Wow! Stunning! What a beautiful shop! The presentation of the pieces is arranged with a lot of passion. The staff is truly friendly and offers advice without the slightest pressure to buy. They simply opened the display case for me so I could take a closer look at all the opals in peace and quiet. I sincerely hope this trust never backfires! When I finally reached the first basement level, I was simply speechless with amazement. I will remember this visit for a long time. My little purchases have found beautiful places in my apartment. If I return to Murten, another visit to Ambra Minerals is a MUST. (Original) Wow! Umwerfend!

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
This is the perfect place to visit if you want to see the old town of Murten and its red brick roofs from above. And the castle and the churches of course. It runs in the SW to NE direction and looking north you see the old town and glimpses of lake Murten and the vineyards across the lake and looking south what was constructed in more modern times. You can enter the ramparts via steep flights of stairs in the westernmost and easternmost corners as well in the middle of this medieval construction. Watch out for splinters in the wooden handles. There are some private homes and shops integrated into the construction.
Sebastian R — Google review
One of the highlights for my trip is this old wall; remnants of a glorious past where we get to walk the same ramparts where soldiers once defended the city from invaders. There was no entry fees and the view was simply spectacular and breathe taking. A definite MUST visit place when in Murten!
Anthony T — Google review
There are a few informative plaques about the Battle of Morat from 1476, giving some historical context to the area. Walking along the fence and seeing the old-style buildings adds a nice sense of the past. It’s a quiet, interesting spot to reflect on local history.
Elovyn — Google review
Don't miss a walk on these ancient walls, the view on the landscape is fantastic.

(Translated by Google) This place is like Rothenburg in Switzerland. It's exactly like Rothenburg in Germany, haha. Plus, it's not crowded. It's very quiet and comfortable. The food on the old street is delicious, and the service is excellent. It's definitely worth a visit! This is one of the entrances to the city wall. The other entrance is behind the church.

(Translated by Google) A walk atop Murten's old city walls was one of the truly impressive moments of our trip to Murten. With every step, I felt the story these walls told – the guards who once patrolled here, surveyed the city, and protected its inhabitants from intruders. The view is simply breathtaking! The old town stretches out before me with its red-tiled roofs, the majestic castle stands proudly above the alleys, and the churches blend harmoniously into the historic cityscape. To the north stretches Lake Murten, its glittering waters framed by rolling vineyards. I climb the walls via steep stairs at several points – free of charge and entirely at my own pace. Up here, I feel transported back in time. This place is more than just a viewpoint; it's a living piece of history. An absolute highlight for me!

Schynige Platte is a must-visit destination in Switzerland, accessible via the historic Wilderswil-Schynige Platte railway. This unique rack and pinion railway, dating back to the 19th century, offers a scenic 50-minute journey with stunning views of the Alps, including iconic peaks like Eiger and Jungfrau. At the summit, visitors can explore Switzerland's only alpine garden boasting over 650 species of alpine plants and flowers.
A beautiful train ride and a gorgeous final destination. We had no trouble spending a whole day hiking, snacking at the restaurant, playing on the kids trail and at the playground!
Kate C — Google review
By far one of the best trails I’ve ever seen! We did a combination of biking (2 hours) and hiking (1 hour), and the views from the top were absolutely stunning — the kind that make you truly appreciate life and nature. I even teared up a bit, just taking in how beautiful the world is and feeling grateful to witness it. We had a picnic at the shed on top, and it was such a wonderful experience. ✨🍃

Great place!!! Amazing views, souvenir shop and free Alpina garten. And it's free if you have a birthday, just show your ID at the ticket office.
Svitlana O — Google review
Schynige Platte in Wilderswil, Switzerland from nearby Interlaken welcomes you with the sound of alphorns as you step off the cogwheel train, setting the mood for a clear alpine day. The air feels crisp, the short hikes are easy, and the views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau are everywhere you look. Wildflowers dot the trails, benches invite quiet breaks, and the crowd is refreshingly thin compared to other spots nearby. Nature feels close here, and it’s an easy escape if you want a classic Swiss alpine experience without heavy climbing. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the region.
Noel M — Google review
Takes around an hour to go up with the vintage train. But it's def worth it. So many options for hiking and you can see both lakes and the Eiger from the top. Don't forget to buy a ice cold Slushy after hiking - so refreshing!
Katrin C — Google review
Schynige Platte is one of the most breathtaking destinations in the Bernese Oberland and an absolute must-visit when in the Interlaken region. The journey up on the historic cogwheel train is a highlight in itself—slow, scenic, and full of charm, offering panoramic views of Lake Thun and the surrounding mountains. Once at the top, you're rewarded with truly stunning views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The landscape feels almost unreal, with alpine meadows, dramatic peaks, and traditional Swiss chalets dotting the area. The Botanical Alpine Garden is a quiet treasure, showcasing hundreds of native plants. It’s perfect for a relaxed stroll or simply enjoying the fresh mountain air. For hikers, there are several beautiful trails, including the Panorama Trail, which lives up to its name. Everything is well-marked and suitable for both casual walkers and more experienced hikers. There’s also a cozy mountain restaurant where you can enjoy local food with incredible views. Schynige Platte combines natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and traditional Swiss charm. Whether you go for hiking, photography, or just to take in the views, it’s a truly unforgettable experience.
Notyouravragedeler — Google review
Absolutely superb. This is a must visit and walk. It's traditional swiss at its best. The train up is delightful and from the station there are numerous walks; we did a 2.5 mile amble, via Daube and Oberberghorn. Word of warning: the viewpoint at Oberberghorn is up a step ladder and you can also get a view from a suspended walkway! The rest of the walk is far less scary! The views of Brienzersee are magnificent. Alongside the swiss meadowland and herd of cows complete with cowbells - absolutely delightful. The restaurant is good - there's a voucher in the Jungfrau Passport which gets you an apple strudel and coffee for a discounted price. The Alpen Garten is good although to be honest the natural wild meadows are far better. We were also fortunate to be there when a trio of swiss played their Alpen Horns, and an individual in the Alpen Garten gave some great solos. Definitely worth a visit.
Philip R — Google review
Schynige Platte offers a scenic train journey from Wilderswil on an old train to the plateau in 52 minutes. The train allows you to open the windows, so you can take pictures of the views along the way. During the train ride, you will be treated to views of Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, and the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau. Do note that the train ride can be uncomfortable for people with back problems due to the lack of support and cushions.

Skydive Interlaken delivered a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience! Yvonne was an absolute gem — friendly, calm, and professional — and went above and beyond to rectify a situation with another company, ensuring everything went smoothly. From start to finish, the team made me feel safe, supported, and at ease, even while my nerves were running high. The views, the adrenaline, and the professionalism of everyone involved made this an unforgettable adventure. I am so grateful for the care and attention that made this jump such a memorable and exhilarating experience. 🪂

Hannah, my instructor, was incredibly confident and reassuring, while Yvonne captured some fantastic shots as I made the jump. The view of Interlaken from above was absolutely breathtaking! A huge thank you to Christian for ensuring everything went smoothly and we had an unforgettable experience!

Had an absolutely amazing experience skydiving with Skydive Interlaken! My instructor Leon was awesome — super calm, friendly, and made the whole jump feel safe and exciting at the same time. Everyone there was super chill and welcoming, which made the whole vibe even better. Got really lucky that a spot opened up on my last day, and I’m so glad it did! Definitely an experience I’ll never forget — highly recommend it to anyone visiting Interlaken! 💯

Me and my wife went skydive with them on 11th October 2025, We booked 9AM Interlaken skydive, but 1 day before, their team contacted us and telling that Interlaken will be cloudy on 9am and offer us an free upgrade to Lauterbrunnen skydive on 12pm which they said the weather will be much better. (And they are 100% correct with the weather forecast 💯💯) So far, this is the best and most exciting activity i did in my life! We also want to thanks Craig & Dante who are very proffesional and those guys are really chill. They make our jump easy and really fun. I recommend them if you want to book a skydive. Thanks again guys, can't wait for the next jump 👍

I went skydiving this past April and it was the greatest experience I have ever had. Everyone at Skydive Interlaken was so welcoming and reassuring. Surprisingly for the situation at hand, I never thought I would feel as safe as I did. Mike was my instructor and I could not be more thankful that he was, I could not have asked for a better person to jump out of a helicopter with. For everyone who is questioning skydiving or facing your fears, do it and do it scared. You will not regret it and you will make the best memories out of it. It is a life changing experience and I’ve never been happier. Live your life!!!
Elizabeth F — Google review
Overall 10/5 experience. Pickup near our Airbnb was very convenient. When we got to the diving area the people there heard we were going to Lauterbrunnen and offered to do our dive there instead! For the dive itself we ended up having a lot of overcast so were delayed. However our instructors Rich and Hannah were amazing at keeping us informed and making good conversation, and eventually we moved to another place because we had told them we’re leaving the next day and couldn’t do another day. Very accommodating! Actual jump was a phenomenal experience. My actual favorite thing I’ve done on a vacation, and Rich made the whole experience amazing and even accommodate some of my jump requests. Great guy! Highly recommended experience, book asap.

Great place to be in Thun. Located in the heart of the city, at the border of the river, with wonderful views in all directions. A lot of various cafe's and restaurants, with hundreds of seats outside. Can be crowdy on sunny days. From there, you can go shopping behind the corner, or walk along the river up to the kindergarten. Wonderful views on the sunny alps. Wholeheartedly recommended!

We were in the area on vacation and decided to take a train down to Thun and look around. The castle is very prominent on the skyline and looks quite interesting. We walked though the building and looked at the various displays which were well done. Centuries of history briefly summarized. The building itself is the main attraction. We went all the way to the top into the corner towers. The roof structure was amazing. Definitely recommend!

Castle Thun is a must-see when visiting the town! The displays and information are well-curated, making it easy to explore everything in just 2–3 hours. There are also interactive sections, like the wooden architecture exhibit in the attic and rooftop area, and the fascinating collection of ancient armors and weapons. The castle is well-maintained, easy to navigate, and offers a great balance of history and experience.
BA — Google review
Worth the trip. The castle is stunning and you can see artefacts of the Old Swiss Confederacy, such as halberds, tapestries and armors. The Knight's room and the room under the roof where particularly stunning. On top of that, 4 towers flanking the roof are accessible and give you wonderful views of the city
Sebastien F — Google review
The basic castle tour was interesting, but I was disappointed to find that there were virtually no period furnishings in any of the rooms. The audio tour aid added tremendously to the understanding of the castle history. Look closely, though, to find the signs which indicate when to use the audio aid. I recommend paying the extra fee to use it. I enjoyed the views from the tower. I paid extra for the special exhibit, which I didn't feel was worth the fee; skip it unless you are interested in forms of medieval punishment.

Definitely do the audio tour if you come here! Beautiful castle with a lot of history and amazing views from the top! No need to book tickets in advance
Lia T — Google review
Thun castle does not match the vibe of other castles of Switzerland like Gruyère castle and Chillion castle. The castle is poor in terms of content and exhibits. Not much to explore inside. The staff is very friendly and there are free locker rooms available to keep your luggage. The best part was the top level of Thun castle from where you get 4 different panoramic views of Thun city and Lake Thun. If you are visiting Thun city then definitely visit this place otherwise skip it. Entry to Thun castle is free with Swiss Travel Pass.

Museums
Laténium Parc et Musée d'Archéologie is an impressive modern museum and archaeological park located in Hauterive, Switzerland. The museum offers a journey through time, showcasing human evolution in Europe from the Neanderthal era to the Renaissance. With eight rooms filled with artifacts, human skeletons, models, and interactive educational stations, visitors can explore over 50,000 years of regional history. The museum also features complementary visiting exhibitions for added insight into the past.
This is an extraordinary archeological museum, by far the most interesting I have visited. It appears to have been designed and built around objects and histories that have been excavated in the Neuchâtel region rather than these having been put into a museum building. We visited the first Friday morning of 2025 and were almost by ourselves with a lot of time to follow the very educational and thrilling layout of our past history. And spend some time also in the gardens like we did this beautiful morning. Just now there is a separate exhibition featuring objects and histories from prison camps in France, Germany, Poland and Switzerland set up during WWII that you should not miss. But hurry up, it closes soon! Overall, a great way to educate yourself!!
Sebastian R — Google review
Very nice museum about the history of people of Neuchatel from the Neolithic era, Bronze age, Celts, Gallo-Roman and then lastly, the Middle Ages. The park outside the museum also contains display about early settlers of the region. The museum is sleek and the display looks modern. Entrance ticket is CHF12. The display has description in French and German. Unfortunately, there is no English language in the description. However, you can get audio guide (in many languages including English) for CHF5. For me, the highlight of the museum is the ancient ship. The museum is also located just opposite the lake and has beautiful scenery Recommended visit.
Eric L — Google review
Interesting museum, with a variery of items, the objects are well described and labelled (we did not take any audioguide) and the different spaces take you through history and are also well designed and even impressive. There is also a section about archeology itself and how the different objects are maintained and protected against decay, especially in water, which is very interesting. The visit takes about 2-2.5 hours. There are also some interesting elements outside; moreover the area around the museum and the lake is worth a stroll for its beautiful landscape! We did not find the staff very helpful, though.

A museum that displays artifacts from the Paleolithic era to the Middle Ages. Very friendly staff. Impressive reconstructions of dwellings in the outdoor park

This was a very strange visit for me. The best dedicated archaeology museum I've ever visited (and I've been to a lot) with the rudest staff I have ever encountered at a museum anywhere in the world. Swiss people are generally pretty nice, but not the rude young docent here (blond woman with a nosering)! Totally unacceptable for a museum staff.
Jason C — Google review
Like most if the museum in Switzerland everything is absolutely perfect clean and well prepared. There is just one thing i miss everywhere, there is just nothing to touch, in a way to help understand how heavy, or soft or well done a piece is. Holding a sword or a coin, even a replica would help understand kids and adults how things were back then.
Gusti G — Google review
Most important archeological museum of Switzerland. For history lovers, this place is a treasure trove. The museum is spacious and offers tranquility. There are creative spaces for children and interactive games available.

Beautiful location and building. Very nice exhibition, not for small children though: there is a lot to read and quite dark. Nicely organised exhibition with lot of information. For archeology fans.

Harder Kulm is a must-visit elevated lookout point in Interlaken, Switzerland, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. It's an ideal destination for families, couples, friends, and solo explorers. The modern building at the top provides seating for 130 people and is perfect for meetings, seminars, and events with its unique view.
In my opinion, this place is a must-visit if you are in Interlaken. A life-changing tip: try to go a bit before sunset, so you can really enjoy the best of the view. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes. I wouldn’t recommend the vegetarian pizza – it wasn’t really worth it, but the view made up for it, haha. There are also some shops where you can buy ice cream and souvenirs.
Khalad J — Google review
We visited on a bit of an overcast day but the skies cleared and offered spectacular views of Interlaken. We purchased the special ticket offering return trip on the Harder Klum Funicular and a set lunch menu at the Panorama restaurant at the top. Great value. The trip is also wheelchair accessible however you need to locate the back entrance which is further up the road from the main boarding area, on the first side entrance on the left. Well worth the visit.
Georgina T — Google review
Absolutely amazing! The funicular is super fun and the views at the top are insane — mountains, lakes, everything. The viewing platform is a must, and the restaurant has great vibes too. Perfect spot for sunset. Don’t miss it if you’re in Interlaken 👍
Magdalena D — Google review
The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking — definitely one of the best panoramas in Switzerland. The ride up was smooth and easy, and once you get there, the viewing platform makes it feel like you’re floating above Interlaken. We loved taking our time at the top just soaking in the mountains, the lakes, and the fresh air. Such a peaceful and memorable place. Totally worth the trip — highly recommended!

We recently visited Harder Kulm, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Located above the beautiful town of Interlaken, this panoramic viewpoint offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, lakes, and the iconic Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks. The journey to the top is an adventure in itself taking a funicular ride from Interlaken up to the summit ( there happens to be a pretty steep hike as well that can take you up there) was smooth, comfortable, and gave us our first taste of the stunning alpine scenery. Once at the top, we were greeted with a 360-degree vista that truly took our breath away. The observation platform is perfect for photos, and we spent quite a while just soaking in the views. We also had a chance to explore the area a little more, with well-maintained paths leading to even more scenic spots around the summit. One of the highlights was the viewing platform's ( also referred to as the two lakes bridge as you get to see the Thun and Brienz lakes) glass floor.Stepping out onto it felt like flying over the town of Interlaken, and it was a thrilling experience. For those who are a bit more adventurous, there also are a couple of hikes around ( one’s simple the other being a challenging strenuous hike) where you can feel completely surrounded by nature and mountains. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the warm atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing day out or an adventure in the mountains, Harder Kulm delivers both in spades. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the area and it's definitely worth the visit!

Fun steep ride up to the view point. Unfortunately the weather fogged up and stares to rain. We took some quick pictures and headed back to beat the crowds on the return trip. This was included in our travel pass so we figured we'd check it out no matter the weather.

Gurten is a mountain in Bern that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding areas. Visitors can reach the top using the red Gurtenbahn funicular or by hiking or biking. At the summit, there's a 23-meter observation tower providing a 360-degree view of Schliern, Koniz, and Bern, as well as the Swiss Mittelland region and the Jura mountains.
It is a very nice place where you can see the whole Bern city and beyond. You can reach the top by funicular or you can walk around 15-20 min. There is a tower from where you can see mountains chains. Just be sure there are no clouds.

Gurten is magical! 🌅 Fresh air, amazing view over Bern and the mountains - feels peaceful and inspiring 🧡✨
Vladyslav H — Google review
Recommend going on a sunny day, and preferably not Sunday. The toboggan ride was closed and views were good but not great (it was raining). If you’re staying at a hotel in Bern, your guest pass will allow you to ride the funicular for free. You could also hike up/down. We walked to Gurtendorf which was a sweet, tiny, village with a dairy farm. It’s definitely chillier and windier due to the elevation gain so pack a light jacket!
Darija M — Google review
It takes only 10 minutes to reach this place from the main station (tram 9). After a five minute ride you will be able to enjoy a fantastic view of Bern and if the day is quite clear you will be able to spot mountains far away in all directions! If you travel with kids there is a playground here and also a restaurant. Perfect place for hiking and you can also bring your bicycle here!

The highest point of Bern. You can get a great view of Bern and on a clear day you get a mesemerizing view of the Alps as well . Nice place for a picnic with friends and family. It's a huge area on top and you can spend a few hours enjoying the view from different sides. Has a play area/ activity area for kids. And also a restaurant. Either take a funicular or climb up the hill. Both experiences are awesome.

Beautiful peak with 360 degrees view of the entire area. To get to the mountain top you can either take the tram (half priced for Swiss pass) or take the walking trail up. Portions of the trail has stairs and paved road making it very easy to climb. On top there are restroom facility, restaurant and amusement park, not to mention a spectacular view.

Zytglogge

Sights & Landmarks
In the heart of Bern's Old Town, the Zytglogge, or Clock Tower, is a historic landmark dating back to 1405. This 12-meter-high tower features mechanical moving figures that come to life on the hour, including a parade of bears, a jester, a golden rooster, and Chronos, the god of time.
Zytglogge in Bern is one of those places that catches your eye even if you’re not looking for it. It’s an old clock tower right in the middle of the old town, and the first time I saw it, I just stood there staring for a bit—it’s that striking. The big astronomical clock face, the golden details, and the little figures that move when the hour strikes—it all has this old-world charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. What I loved most was how it’s just part of the street, not tucked away or behind gates. Locals walk by like it’s nothing, but as a visitor, you really appreciate how much history is packed into that spot. The street around it is full of arcades, little shops, cafés, and those classic Bernese buildings with red roofs and green shutters. I caught the clock show on the hour, and though it’s short and simple, it was fun to see the mechanical figures come to life. If you're wandering through Bern, you’ll probably pass it anyway, but it’s worth pausing for. Zytglogge isn’t just a landmark—it’s a lovely little moment of Bern’s character and history.

Old Town Bern is picturesque both in the day and night. Can take Bus 12 from main square to Bear Park and return. If you stay in hotel, can get activation code for free bus ride in Bernapp. Else, can park at Casino car park but it's expensive.

Visiting the Zytglogge was a highlight of my trip to Bern. This 13th-century clock tower is not just a beautiful landmark, it’s a piece of living history. I arrived a few minutes before the hour and was amazed by the mechanical figures and the precise chime—it feels like stepping back in time. The surrounding Old Town streets are charming, full of cafés and little shops, making it a perfect spot to explore after watching the show. Whether you love history, architecture, or just a great photo opportunity, the Zytglogge is a must-see in Bern.
Bou B — Google review
Walking through Bern’s Old Town, I stumbled upon Bim Zytglogge and was instantly charmed. The area around the clock tower feels like a slice of history—cobblestone streets, medieval buildings, and the hourly show of mechanical figures on the astronomical clock. It’s a lively spot, with locals and tourists mingling, and plenty of cafés and shops nearby.
YippieYaYa — Google review
Such a nice Watch tower. Very interesting and of course, full of historical events to tell from it and its city, Bern. Really a great stop-by spot, a must when you'd like to see the spectacle of the watch with its figures moving at 6pm.

Its a big old clock. There is some entertaining bits on the west side every hour but dont expect anything dramatic like a giant cuckoo clock. Pretty cool though for an 800 year old piece of work.

Zytglogge (Clock Tower) was built in 1220 as part of Bern’s western gate, becoming a civic clock tower after the city expanded. The astronomical clock was added in 1530 with moving figures such as bears, a jester, and Chronos, which perform each hour.

Cathedral of Bern

Sights & Landmarks
The Cathedral of Bern, a stunning example of late Gothic architecture, is an absolute must-see when exploring the Old Town. Standing tall at 100 meters, it proudly holds the title of Switzerland's tallest cathedral. Its impressive bell tower features a massive bell that weighs around 10 tons and has a diameter of about 2.5 meters. While the interior may appear understated, visitors are captivated by its exquisite stained glass windows and antique furnishings that tell stories from centuries past.
Bern Cathedral (Berner Münster) Standing as the tallest cathedral in Switzerland, the Bern Cathedral is also known as the Berner Münster and is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Construction began in 1421 in the Gothic style and continued in stages for several centuries. Its 100-meter (328-foot) spire was only completed in 1893, and today it offers panoramic views over the city of Bern, the Aare River, and even the snow-capped Alps on clear days. Located at the edge of the UNESCO-listed Old Town, the cathedral is both an architectural masterpiece and a spiritual center. The interior is majestic, featuring soaring ribbed vaults, elegant stained-glass windows, and intricate choir stalls carved from oak. One of the most remarkable features is the main portal, adorned with over 200 stone figures depicting the Last Judgment, which is an incredibly detailed and rare example of late Gothic sculpture in Switzerland. The cathedral played a central role during the Reformation and has remained a Protestant church since the 16th century. Despite this, much of its original Catholic iconography and artistry was preserved, making it a fascinating site for both religious and historical exploration. Visitors can climb 344 steps to the top of the tower for a breathtaking 360-degree view of Bern and the surrounding landscape. Inside, occasional concerts are held, utilizing the cathedral’s grand organ, which is among the largest in Switzerland. Whether you're interested in architecture, history, or simply looking to enjoy stunning views, the Bern Cathedral is worth the visit.
Sebastien G — Google review
Marvelous architecture. You can just sit inside for hours. The tower is a bit of hard climb but it is beyond worth it. The view from the top is amazing. You can see the entire city and the river. Really love it, highly recommended.

The Cathedral of Bern is truly a stunning landmark with impressive architecture and a commanding presence in the city. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the chance to go inside or climb the tower due to the opening hours — we arrived in the evening and left the next morning. It was a bit disappointing and sad, as we would have loved to explore it fully. Even from the outside, the cathedral is beautiful and worth visiting. A must-see for anyone in Bern, and definitely a reason to plan a longer visit next time!
Leonis M — Google review
Visited the Bern Cathedral and the climb to the top is definitely worth it. The view from up there is crazy, you can see the whole city, the river, everything. It’s one of those spots where you just stop and take it all in. At the top, there was this older gentleman working there who was honestly one of the highlights. He was super friendly and took the time to explain what we were looking at, the history, the mountains in the distance, and some really interesting details we wouldn’t have noticed on our own. Just a really good, genuine conversation. Made the experience feel personal. The cathedral itself is beautiful and detailed, but that view and the kindness up top really made it memorable.

**⛪✨ Awe-Inspiring Moments at Bern Cathedral! ✨⛪** Just stepped inside the **Bern Cathedral (Berner Münster)**—Switzerland’s tallest cathedral—and I’m utterly speechless! 😍 Soaring **100 meters high**, this Gothic masterpiece took my breath away with its intricate stone carvings, towering spire, and the **stunning stained glass windows** that bathe the nave in kaleidoscope colors. 🌈 Don’t miss the **Last Judgment sculpture** above the main portal—a jaw-dropping work of medieval art with over 200 figures! And if you’re up for a climb, the **344-step tower ascent** rewards you with sweeping views of Bern’s red rooftops, the Aare River, and the snow-capped Alps in the distance. 🏔️📸 **Pro tip**: Visit early to avoid crowds, and wear comfy shoes for the tower climb (totally worth it!). The cathedral’s peaceful interior is free to enter, but toss a few coins for the tower—it supports preservation! 💙
Nuwan W — Google review
The main portal of Bern Minster is one of the most complete collections of Late Gothic sculpture. The tympanum depicts the Last Judgment, carved entirely by Erhard Küng, which gives the ensemble a remarkable unity of design. The wicked are shown naked on the right and the righteous clothed in white on the left, while in the center Archangel Michael holds a raised sword, overseeing the fate of souls. Flanking the doors, the left side depicts the five Foolish Virgins, the right side the Wise Virgins. The Dance of Death (Danse Macabre) stained glass window in Bern Minster was created in 1519 and depicts skeletons leading people from all walks of life—kings, clergy, peasants, and children—toward death, emphasizing the inevitability and universality of mortality. Bern Minster (Berner Münster), begun in 1421 and completed with its 100-metre tower in 1893, is the tallest church in Switzerland and a landmark of late Gothic architecture. It became Protestant in 1528 during the Reformation. The church has a three-aisled basilica plan with slender columns, high rib-vaulted ceilings, and flying buttresses supporting the nave, exemplifying the vertical emphasis and detailed craftsmanship typical of the late Gothic.
Kent W — Google review
The church provided vital history about city and people. Always fascinating to see evolution of architecture over the centuries. Amazing how items like seating areas have been preserved since the late 1400’s.

Bern Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a charming medieval center with arcaded walkways and cellar shops. The town boasts Switzerland's tallest cathedral and is surrounded by turquoise waters. Visitors can explore the cobbled streets, small wish fountains, and preserved statues while browsing through quaint bookstores and cafes. The town's clock tower, Zytglogge, is a focal point where tourists gather to watch its revolving figures twirl before the chimes begin.
The Bern old town is lovely, colorful and very easy to walk around, even if it’s raining ☔️ there pathways next to the shops covered, as is UNESCO protected the buildings are old but very well maintained, you will be impressed! Many fountains to see and take pics with and of course the famous clock tower! You will need a couple of hours to stroll around the historical center, watch out for the trams and red buses are very frequent! Recommend it and take your time to enjoy it!

In my opinion, Bern's old town is one of the most beautiful and compact in the world. Its specialty is the arcades formed by the old buildings lining the streets. The arcades are lined with shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, etc. It is worth walking around the old town, also along the banks of the Aare River, and climbing to the Rosengarten to admire the magnificent view of the old town. Every time I visit Bern I feel amazed.

Beautiful and quaint little old town in the capital of Switzerland! I got there early so the streets were rather empty and it was nice taking a slow stroll down this street. The street was lined with familiar brands/shops, the trams ran down both sides and I almost felt like I was transported back to medieval times - except the modern shops bring me back to the present. If you walk further down, you’ll end up at the Bear Pit, another little tourist attraction of Bern.

BearPark, located in Bern, is a hilly park that houses several brown bears, which are the city's symbol and have been since the 12th century. The park incorporates a 19th-century bear pit where the bears used to roam before being moved to their own spacious park in 2009. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the old town from the elevated Rose Garden above BearPark and from the platform of the cathedral tower.
I’m usually not a fan of places that keep animals in captivity—but Bear Park in Bern was a real surprise. The setting is absolutely beautiful, nestled beside the river with plenty of space for the bears to roam. They’ve even got access to a natural swimming pool from the river, which was amazing to see. The bears looked healthy, relaxed, and genuinely well cared for—it felt more like a sanctuary than a zoo. Best of all, it wasn’t crowded at all when we visited, and to our surprise, entry is completely free. You can walk right through and observe these magnificent brown bears up close, without any fencing or enclosures getting in the way of the view. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Bern—it was a highlight of our visit.

I recently visited the Bear Park in Bern and it was such a delightful experience! Nestled along the scenic banks of the Aare River, the park offers a peaceful and natural environment where bears roam freely in spacious enclosures that mimic their natural habitat. The bears looked healthy and well cared for, and it was heartwarming to see them play, rest, and interact with their surroundings. The park is free to enter, which makes it a wonderful stop for families, nature lovers, or anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing moment in the city. It’s also just a short walk from the old town, so it’s easy to include in a day of sightseeing. Overall, Bear Park is a beautiful blend of nature, education, and conservation. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bern!
YippieYaYa — Google review
It’s quite astonishing to see a bear park right in the middle of the city — a truly unique setting. The enclosure is spacious, well-designed, and blends beautifully with the natural surroundings along the river. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into making it as comfortable as possible for the bears. Still, it’s a reminder that the animals are in captivity, which can feel a bit bittersweet despite the excellent care they receive.
Akhil M — Google review
The views are quite beautiful, and the bears are adorable, but I feel terrible they don't have more space to roam around in. They did build a little section in the river so when it is hot, the bears can at least cool down and fish :)
Luke L — Google review
Love that they have a bear refuge near the city. They have so much room to roam. I would suggest adding more signs not to feed the bears or be fined. I saw some stupid kid form a different country throw something down in the bear area and the parents didn’t do anything.

Very nice park at the top of Bern city, offering a place to rest and fantastic view. The restaurant is ideal to take a break from a walking tour, having all the city in "the plate". Very nice place for panoramic photos of the city and the river. A must visit
Stefanos A — Google review
We were not able to have a table by the side, with the amazing view as we had not made a reservation. We came here on a whim. We were given 2 other seating options, 1 which we were warned we would be hit by the sun soon and the other on the other side near the kids playground on the high chair stools and table. The waitress who served us was super busy, there was a large party of 10 or so and lots of other small tables she was serving. She did her best to keep everyone happy. There was a bit of a wait time to order. Once the food came, it tasted good. However due to being summer, wasps started to appear and take over. The toilets are inside, downstairs, they were clean. Upon exiting the building we saw a huge amount of salad plates ready to go just sat on the side. Overall, it was good.

Nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the city. In a hot summer day you will not be able to dine inside because it’s extremely hot and there isn’t AC. We dined at the patio and unfortunately were invaded by dozens of flies as soon as our food was received. We prompted to move everything inside. Service is mediocre.

I loved it. They place is very nice and clean, with outstanding views. Service is great and fast. I took the chicken sandwich for a quick lunch and it was very good.

Great place and truly scenery. Quality service and quality food. Thanks to the Chef and team. I’ll repeat the visit whenever back to Bern. If you choose to come from the down town of Bern; be prepared to pull enough energy to walk up thru the hill, which is a nice little warm up and workout before arriving to the restaurant. Also, it’ll be great to spot coupe or bears from the bridge while heading to the restaurant.

A must stop for a lunch or coffee with view over Bern, amazing. The food was good too, especially the middle eastern mixed platter

Great food, went there for the fondue but turned out fondue only runs trough the winter and spring which we didn’t know. But all was good and amazing view over the city The photo is from winter which we had a coffee and chocolate warm milk, nice

Lake Biel is a sprawling and scenic lake that offers beaches, a small island, and nearby trails. The area around the lake features vineyards with a fine wine-growing tradition, as well as restaurants and lodging options. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as kayaking, biking, and swimming at the lake, which also offers tours by boat. The city of Biel near the lake has plenty of shops and restaurants to explore.
Beautiful lake. Warning that Uber is very unreliable in Biel. There are regular taxi's and trams/busses at the train station. There is a park at the lake and a snack shop and a restaurant. The town of Biel has lots of shops and restaurants. Most things close on Sunday in Switzerland. Walked from train station to lake. (Quite a few shops, grocery store etc in and right near train station.) It was pretty far. Google Maps for walking doesn't work well.

Beautiful lake at the city border of Biel city. From city center you can walk to the lake in 10 mins. Lots of activities at the lake : kayak, bike, swimming, there is even a sand beach. There are also tours of the 3 lakes by boat. Besides the wonderful scenery, there are several bars with friendly personal and reasonable prices. Wholeheartedly recommended!

My visit to the Kambly bakery in Trubschachen was an incredibly delightful experience! This place is a true paradise for cookie lovers. I had the chance to taste a wide range of delicious products, from classic butter cookies to more sophisticated treats. The tasting was very well organized, and the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Additionally, seeing the cookie production process up close and learning about the company’s history added a unique touch to the entire visit. I highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates high quality and exceptional taste!

Very good baking / Easter bunny Programm for family/ couple or friends , need to reserve your place online in advance. Great experience and will come again. The cafe is also great when you would like to grab a drink, the factory store is also amazing with lots of choice plus every product you can try before you decide which one to buy. Great price compare to other selling spots.
Angie T — Google review
There is cafe at Kambly shop. Kambly homemade ice tea was fabulous because it was not so sweet and fruit taste. The mango ice cream wad so fresh.
Bingo C — Google review
It's more like a factory outlet where they sell the products cheaper but not in supermarket packaging (I guess it's good for own/family consumption). Couldn't compare it to lindt/cailler museum, there were only little corner for the historical story telling and some activities for kids to play around. For adults, maybe the most interesting part is the unlimited degustation of all the products😋
Helene L — Google review
Complaint: the cookies are too delicious and we ate too many of them. Well, I am partially joking... and partially telling the truth. But for a full truth, this is an excellent factory with great products. Exceptional Swiss quality. I was cycling through Switzerland with my mother and we stopped by. Really enjoyed the Kambly history presentation, available in four languages. On a side note, I really don't understand how anyone can give less than five stars. I don't know too many places where you can walk in and eat as much of their product as you want. Of course you will probably want to buy some cookies or crackers and take them home with you. But no one pressures you. There is also a nice cafe, free wifi, and clean and comfortable bathrooms. Thank you very much for this experience Kambly and I will certainly be purchasing more of your products in the future.
Andrew J — Google review
My kids took a class here, and even though they don't speak German, the staff were so kind and helpful. While they were taking the class I took 2 hours trying the different desserts, and some of them were SO TASTY! I actually had never heard of Kambly before, but my in laws took me there and I was pleasantly surprised. My favorite dessert by far was the VOGELNESTLI! I am dreaming about eating some more... so delicious!

Etang de la Gruère is a serene lake located in a protected mountain peatbog, offering opportunities for swimming and leisurely nature walks. The area is home to diverse bird and butterfly species, adding to the natural charm of the surroundings. Visitors can enjoy creative and seasonal cuisine at a nearby restaurant with a shaded terrace or in a wooded room. The lake's varied environments include meadows, woods, and moors, providing an engaging experience for all ages.
Very peaceful and beautiful place. If you avoid very busy times, there is easy parking in two locations. What we found special is the variety of environments there. The lake, meadows, woods, and the moors. The walkway around the water is quite well maintained, quite flat and very easy for people of all ages. Take a few minutes on the bridge to look for the large fish in the water. Also read about the work to protect the moor on the east side of the lake. We look forward to visiting in the winter.

Great place to visit for a day out with the family. It only takes one hour to walk around the whole lake. There are two paid parking lots where you can park your car. There are toilets at the parking lots, but there are no toilets when walking around the lake. 5 Minute walk from the parking lot, there are a couple of outdoor fireplaces where you can grill and eat and drink.

It’s always nice come here in any seasons. I came here few times: on summer as well as winter. There are 2 entrances. It’s easy to find parking place. But in high season or nice weather, normally many people come here. These photos are in winter season.
Ronnie M — Google review
This pond is great for a 30-40 minute walk (as it's circumference is not too large) and also provides many spots to sit an enjoy the view. While it can get busy during the day, the evening is an ideal time to visit as most tourists will have already left. The pond's beauty is enhanced by its dark waters, which are enriched by peat. However, the water is often so still that it takes on the sky's color.
Meredith G — Google review
I love this lake. You can also swim here. It has a particular dark color. The surface of the water is warmer than the bottom. When you swim it creates a unique sensation when you lay on the surface in warmth and slowly let your feet sink towards the cool.

Super nice place for a walk around the Natural Reserve, less than an hour to go around from the Parking. Totally worthy in a sunny day !

This small lake and the surrounding forest will make you feel like you are in Scandinavia. There is a path around the lake which take about 45 mins to walk. Its a easy walk and has basically no up and downs. As it is a natural preserve area you can not do any fire and you should stay on the paths. In winter the lake can freeze all over which makes a impressive view.

great walk in nature with easy access by car but limited parking space. it's only about 45 minutes walk so having small kids or older folks tagging along is definitely a possibility. the cooling forrest and beautiful stream make it even on very hot days a great option. just about in the middle you will find set up fire places with wood logs to use and big trash bins. all you need to bring along is food and a match to get started. on the north end is even a restaurant for the less prepared walkers. the only facilty missing is the one most needed, but no worries the restaurant lets you use their toilets for a small fee.

Very beautiful valley with a gorgeous river and mysterious atmosphere. There are a lot of caves and the walkway has a very romantic vibe. If you visit the valley during the week you will be probably alone. The valley can easy be accessed by the public transport. Just take the bus from Biel Trainstation to Biel Taubenloch. Then walk the way up to Frinvillier Village from where you can take the Bus 71 wich drives to Orvin and finally back to Biel Trainstation. Just keep an eye on the scedule of the bus 71 for it drives about every hour/half-an-hour.

Cheese shop
The Emmentaler Schaukäserei in Affoltern offers a fascinating experience where visitors can witness the traditional and modern production of Emmental cheese. The dairy features short videos explaining the cheese-making process, including how the famous holes are formed. Traditional cheesemaking takes place once a day over an open fire in an 18th-century herdsmans cottage.
We enjoyed the King's Way tour. We bought our tickets online and were able to do the self guided tour in English. The immersive experience was quite fun. At the end, we enjoyed tasting different aged cheese.
Veihi — Google review
We were staying in the Emmental region for vacation and saw this on the map with good reviews so came here to see cheese. Even though we looked at their website we didn’t know much about their cheese tour- which turned out to be a Disney World like experience where you go from room to room with automated lighting and narration - it was a lot of fun. And at the end you get to see their wheels of cheese and try a few different ages of their signature cheese. We bought more in their store and left for home. There is certainly more to see and do but we came near the end of the day. Certainly recommend!
Karl P — Google review

I went with my family and my friend's family, in total we were 6 adults and 3 kids under 7. And we had the best time. We stayed the whole day. We bought the kombi-ticket of the Koenigs Weg and the Frischkaese Workshop, so we decided to arrive early morning. There was a fair happening with Apple-based all-things being sold and it was just amazing. The kids had a great time in the Spielplatz and also watching the goats and rabbits. Both the workshop and the Koenigs Weg are kid's friendly. The restaurant food was amazing as well. The staff was also very friendly.

Very nice cheese dairy, especially the kings path self guided tour was surprisingly good. It consists of multiple nicely designed installations accompanied by the story of Emmental cheese as an audio book. I expected a self guided tour to be much less interesting so it was a pleasant surprise.

This place is just an amazing hidden gem 💎 in Switzerland. It’s perfect for a walk in summertime, so it’s cool. Very nice with the rocks and the stream and many tiny waterfalls. At the end you will be served with a outstanding panorama of beautiful houses and a monastery. You can’t find pictures in my gallery because it’s not aloud to take pictures and I don’t understand why people don’t respect that.

Beautifully serene hiking path. It's rather chilly in the forest as compared to the ambient temperature outside of it, so bring a jacket. You'll get to see streams, and a lot of Christian memorabilia/Jesus Christ statues around the path the more you walk down. Many carvings in the stones and rocks along the way too. There's a hermitage at the end of the trail, which was accompanied by a shrine and a small chapel. Easy to navigate, you don't need a map and you won't get lost.

St-Jean Bridge

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
The small town of St-Ursanne, which annually welcomes far more tourists than it has inhabitants, can be entered through three town gates. The entrance from the south over the bridge and through the Porte St-Jean is very impressive. A statue of St. John of Nepomuk, patron saint of all bridges, stands on one of the abutments. His many other «commitments» as patron saint of confessors, rafters, millers, priests and mariners may have led to the fact that not all bridges could be saved from destruction. A first bridge must have stood around 1440. It can be assumed that it was also built of wood, as was one known from an earlier 16th century depiction of the town. Chroniclers reported that the winter in 1670 was so cold that even the wine in the cellars froze. At that time the wooden bridge was destroyed by ice flowing down the Doubs. The bridge subsequently built in 1728/29 by master builder Brunet to plans by Advocate Humbert, was adorned by the figure of Nepomuk, who appears to gaze up river to the site of the former bridge. By SwitzerlandMobility
Wilson R — Google review
The view here is fantastic! From the bridge you can follow the signpost and walk along the river for 10 km, or into the mountain for a hike. The river is crystal clear that you can see dozens of trout swimming below you. It's said the trout fished from this river is super delicious. Due to COVID, most of the restaurants are not open now, but when you come to her again later, you must give the trout a try!

Chic, quirky restaurant in a tropical greenhouse, offering varied menus of tropical influenced food.
Wonderful place for plant lovers. I saw 3 big turtles that day while I was wandering. Also, I had dinner there. Every dish is creative and was decorated beautifully. The price is affordable. The ambience and the service is very nice and kind. Will definitely go back there for romantic dinner again

Probably because I come from a tropical place I don't find it exotic. I found the entry price a bit high to be honest. The garden was ok, it would be a good place for families with kids. There is also a shop where you can find products made from exotic ingredients. The staff was friendly. I would recommend tourists (especially those from exotic, warm locations) to visit this place if you happen to be around. It is not that different from home 😁
Alejandro M — Google review
The staff is so friendly and forecoming and the food was so delicious! Atmosphere with all the plants and some animals cruising around, wonderful.
Moritz R — Google review
Delicious food at this popular restaurant. Great service with a smile from attentive staff. It was a shame that the place wasn't open until 16.00 on a Saturday (when I visited). This meant that the place was very dark (in Wintertime), to walk through. So my partner and I couldn't see much. The food itself was wonderful and the portions were just right. One more bugbear was that the nearest parking is about a 15 minute walk away. This was not welcome on a cold Winter evening.
Tom W — Google review
Went there for a concert, the ambience near all the tropical plants was quite good. Didn't taste the food, but the housemade drinks and they were rightfully tropical ones. Inside the area seems very neatly polished and cleaned, with many friendly staff. Noteworthy that the restaurant itself is rated by Michelin and other cuisine guides.
Jaime B — Google review
Wonderful day-trip destination. Especially in the winter to find a little bit of warmth. I was expecting 30 degrees and was at first disappointed to find it was only in the low 20s but was relieved at the end as this temperature was comfortable for the long duration of our stay. Apart from the wonderful range of plants and informative exhibits the Tropenhaus hosts an amazing restaurant that seems to attract a lot of people just by itself. Delicious meals, snacks and even the coffee was extraordinary.

Nice place to visit and look at tropical plants, compact, so you don't get tired and good for children. Restaurant is good, with seating in the jungle. Plants can be purchased in the second building as well as interesting explanation on energy reuse. Walk from parking is noticeable, so be ready and dress accordingly.

Super interesting place, like also how it came into existence (bi-product of some water pipe if I remember correctly). Well kept plants and trees of all sorts, from coffee beans to pineapple, lemon and many more. I found it interesting to see how the exotic plants grow. Learned a lot and had a good time.

The AdventureRooms are really nice for an group event. We all enjoyed the game. The goal of the game is to escape out of a room. For this you must search the room for clues. (Translated by Google) We zapped the room. The room itself didn't convince us. What bothered us the most, however, was the game management. Normally you do an escape room and contact the game management if you want/need tips. However, we received at least 4 tips even though we didn't want them and didn't need them at all. For example, we got a tip after about 2 minutes when we were in the last room, even though we were working on other puzzles at that time. We came out of the room with 17 minutes on the clock. Why do you just give tips even though you have enough time and the tips are not wanted. Once and never again.

(Translated by Google) Mega mega mega funny. We were 3 people and spent a great hour there! Unfortunately, a mechanism got stuck so we lost some time, hence a star deduction (that definitely needs to be repaired) the rest is lovingly designed and rich in detail. The story is also nice and embellishes the whole book. So if you want to use your head and solve tricky tasks, you have to give it a try. I think it's also great for children from around 10 years old. Two thumbs up. One star deducted because the jammed mechanism makes it impossible to progress and we only got further with outside help. (Original) Mega mega mega lustig.

(Translated by Google) Visited both Youcinema 1926 and the newer Zapped. Very entertaining, great puzzles, nice game management :) I found Youcinema 1926 almost a little bit more difficult. Both rooms are absolutely recommended. I would do it again at any time if possible ;) maybe a third room will come soon :) (Original) Sowohl Youcinema 1926, also auch das neuere Zapped besucht.

I visited with my 95 year old grandmother. She doesn't walk well. At the hotel reception I asked how I could get into the lower cave. We were taken there in several elevators with a small walk between. They asked how long it would take to pick it up, and came back to bring back. Thank you very much for the service. A beautiful and holy place with wonderful people.

Beautiful Abbey, store and village. The organist was rehearsing the day we went and was stunning experience to hear it and pray and admire the architecture. Definitely will come back.

Amazing place and worth a visit. The history Sanctuary of Our Lady at Mariastein goes back to the first half of the 14th Century. The story goes that a small boy had fallen from the precipice down into the valley and saved by the virgin. The boy’s mother was tending cattle and sheep. To escape from the heat of the day she and her son took refuge in a cave on the side of the cliff. When she was asleep the boy disappeared. When she awoke she searched around had a premonition that her son had fallen into the valley below. She headed into the valley and there she found him picking flowers for the beautiful woman who had carried him to safety. After falling more than 50m he was unhurt and told his mother that the Lady wished to be venerated in the cave above. According to tradition the cave grotto has been the site of many miraculous events. There are hundreds of placards form the faithful confirming their faith in the Virgin. This is a beautiful peaceful place. Apart from the sacred grotto and its chapels the basilica is absolutely worth a visit it is spectacular. The facade was built between 1830 and 1834 by the Austrian, Jakob Begle. The church itself dates back to 17th Century having been consecrated in 1655. The church was restored between 1930 and 1944 as well as being repainted in the years 1999/2000. Amazing place and worth a visit.

A most beautiful complex of several buildings with a pretty road through an orchard leading towards it. You can go inside and look around or sit. Lots of sculptures and detail.

A truly beautiful church. Felt a lot of sadness when I saw Jesus in the grotto. This church has a healing vibe, you feel so calm and mindful while there.

DON’T LET THE EXTERIOR FOOL YOU. Amazing inside baroque architecture but the main site is the chapel in the grotto. Free big parking a few minutes away.

Finally had a chance to visit the first bridge my 5x great grandfather built in 1803. Incredible that it has withstood 230 years of constant use.
Blaise B — Google review
Located only 5 minutes away from the train station, this bridge was first mentioned around 1295. Even though this is not the original bridge, it is still worth visiting (would top my list). As of October 2018 the bridge is partially closed (don't worry, you can still cross it) awaiting repairs (which haven't really started) after a fire.

Wow! One of the best wellness centers I’ve ever visited! I was truly impressed by how clean everything was. The underground saltwater pool was absolutely fascinating, and the outdoor saunas were stunning. The price is reasonable (around €40 for 3 hours), and towels and sauna leaves are provided free of charge. Next time I’m in Switzerland, I’ll definitely be coming back!

The best thermal in my life. I loved them from the first time and now we go here all the time. I also bring my friends here who come from other countries. 3 hours is enough to see everything: the red room, thermal waters, massage, a large number of saunas, the ritual in the Roman and Moscow saunas Mangusta, hot and cold pools. it is amazing

Busy but well managed and does not feel crowded . My favourite area is the salt flotation pool downstairs , it is really special . Staff very friendly . Had an excellent full body massage that didn't feel like a tourist massage (I wish I could remember her name) tuned in to my issues and worked them ,very hard as requested . Really enjoyed the sauna rooms outside , one of best spas I have been to . Everything very clean and well presented .

Truly wonderful experience. The facilities were clean and there are enough options for it not to feel too crowded, even though we arrived around 7pm and there were definitely already a lot of people also arriving. Highlight was the outdoor Finnish and Russian saunas… with real fire stoves built well and also with tons of character. Certainly appreciated the policy of no phones when entering the bathing areas. Lilliane, the woman working at the reception, was really nice and gave the warmest welcome one could hope for, when visiting this place for the first time. Definitely worth visiting again.

Really interesting sauna experience, Aufguss done with gusto but the pools; Alpine waterfalls and floating salt bath are the real stars of the show. Not the most relaxing experience because the place is quite frenetic but it left me buzzing for the experience. It's a real Therme with mineral water so good for the skin and ailments.

Remarkable old wooden bridge in a very cute old town…. Definitely a beautiful town worth a visit… we walk through the bridge, had ice cream, visited an old church and walk through the city and got to watched a dance performance too…

The wooden covered bridge in Bad Säckingen is truly impressive and full of history. Crossing it feels like walking into another time, with the Rhine flowing below and beautiful views all around. It’s amazing that such a long wooden bridge still connects Germany and Switzerland today. A must-see landmark!

Well maintained bridge from 1888. One of couple Rhein borders between CH and DE. Nice place to chill out - there is a bench to sit and relax.

Favourite crossing into Germany. The other end immediately opens to the city square. There is even a marking of the border midway (white line).
