I started with the crab bhaji and my husband had the scallops. Both beautifully presented. The scallops were perfect but my bhaji was over cooked so a bit too crispy and no real taste of crab. However the accompaniments were excellent. Then for mains, my husband had the lamp rump which was exceptionally good and I had the aubergine parmigiana. This is one of my favourite dishes and I always have it if I see it on a menu. Unfortunately, it was mainly courgette and the aubergine was a little too al dente for my taste. I prefer when the aubergine is cooked to a buttery softness and melts with the cheese. I had dithered over having the lamb myself and would have chosen something different if we returned. We were planning on doing so tonight but they are closed on Tuesdays. Despite my small complaints about my dishes, it is an excellent restaurant and as a keen cook myself, I know that sometimes dishes just don't turn out perfectly.
