Been coming here for a few months now and it’s our absolute favourite brunch spot. Food is always excellent and the Turkish eggs are spot on! I’m unsure of their names, but there is a taller male server with glasses who is an asset to your business he is always friendly. A real gem in West Kirby! We loved Aubergine Café so much, we visited twice during our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home as soon as we walked in. The café itself is a beautiful, airy space with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
The coffee was excellent, and the food was just as impressive—everything fresh and full of flavor. But the real standout? The cake! Absolutely delicious, with a great selection that made it hard to choose (so we didn’t—we came back for more!).

This is such a gem! We arrived when it was full and they managed to do something for accommodating us. The place was beautifully decorated for Easter. The menu has a diversity of breakfast and brunch dishes, good offering, plus lots of drinks. The ladies are very nice! Food was good and came in decent portions. A lovely little cafe full of charm and serving the best cooked breakfast me and my girlfriend have had in a long time. The staff are ever so friendly, helpful and attentive. Everything was clean and fresh leaving you feeling comfortable and relaxed. Although it was extremely busy and we had a sort wait for a table once inside and seated there was no feeling of being rushed to make way for the next customers at any point.
All the food is cooked fresh and to perfection with a lovely big pot of tea at the side. We are both made up we found this little gem and look forward to our next visit.

Second visit to this great little café. On both occasions we have sat indoors (2 people and 3 dogs) and had lovely food and drinks and an excellent experience.
Staff are friendly and helpful - bringing our dogs water on a hot day & holding their leads when we needed an extra pair of hands.
Great menu options too - nice to see some varied choices for vegans and vegetarians, not just the boring easy ones.
I had Vegan Florentine which was tasty and filling, and also good value for money.

Quite a lot to recommend, so instead I'd say make sure you get one of the fresh-pressed juices. I had the Fruit Salad one and it was delicious.
Nice to see a Mexican style offering too, and it was delicious although I'd recommend getting more of the delicious sourdough toast to mop it all up.

Updated review - Previously 5 stars now a 2 or 3. Now an okay or average cooked breakfast. For a cafe that sells healthy shots and pressed juices, having a greasy breakfast makes no sense. Fried sausages now look and taste low quality, very oily- if they're greasy from frying then not rocket science - grill or bake.
Expect top quality when charging a higher price, better options in West Kirby and nearby.

But being slightly devil's advocate here, this place is only good because there's no fully veg*n places in West Kirby. Does anyone really enjoy Linda McCartney's cardboard sausages? Hannah went above and beyond on the run up to the wedding meeting numerous times to discuss menus, drinks options and also helped to sort other necessities such as bins and bar hire. The waitress had no idea when it came to simple questions as what syrups are available also with the simple request of cream cheese on the meal. Went this morning for breakfast. Husband had the vegan breakfast wrap, I had the regular breakfast wrap. Both were freshly cooked and good quality.
I had a pot of tea, with extra hot water (which is always a nice touch), hubby had flat white with oat.
All the staff were very attentive and friendly.

Great choice of cakes and treats and a really extensive gluten free menu. The gluten free cheese and ham panini was really delicious. Great chips too. Called in for lunch with friends on a Saturday afternoon in March 2025, as a first time visitor.
The place was clean and nicely laid out, and we were greeted on arrival with a friendly smile from the staff.

The brilliant staff next door recommended we pop here and they would allow the food to be brought into the pub.

Today has been super busy all ready so my mid morning coffee & cake were well deserved, even this early! I was in West Kirby on the Wirral & decided to pop into one of my local cafes - Cibo West Kirby, 90 Bank Street. As usual, the staff didn't disappoint with excellent prompt service and a welcoming smile. Today Amie served me. I had my usual carrot cake which is gluten free & today's choice of coffee was a latte.
The cafe serves a wide variety of items so there is plenty of choice and they're very good with my allergies. (The choice of cake generally is amazing).
The cafe is always clean, fresh & smells nice, oh and the toilet is regularly checked throughout the day to make sure it's spotless!
If you are in West Kirby...try out Cibo! There is parking immediately outside and plenty down the side streets.

Had a lovely little brunch here. The staff are friendly, and the food is good. There was a mix up with both of our orders but no big deal as what we got was freshly cooked and tasty.
The breakfast had perfectly crispy bacon, and really tasty spiced potatoes. Out of the three poached eggs we had (two eggs bene and one on the breakfast), two of them were overcooked. The sourdough toast was fantastic.
This is a really nice place and we'll definitely be back. The cakes looked delicious but we were full! Must leave room next time.

It was coffee, hot chocolate and a slice of cheesecake in this cafe opened at 4ish. down Banks Rd. in West Kirby. Most shops we passed through where already closed and just as we were resigned to no hot drinks, we spotted this place. I loved our orders and drinks but especially the charming young servers. We got to chat to the cafe owner and he said he had just opened a few days ago and will open longer hours. I can say I did enjoy the whole experience I’ve had there and hope to drop by again some time.

Had a lovely breakfast here this morning. I have specific dietary requirements and the owner didn't flinch when I asked for something that wasn't on the menu. Very refreshing.
Eggs were delicious. I'd hazard a guess that they are from a local farm. All breakfast items were very tasty - no skimping on quality here.
We're working nearby and visit at different times and we're always accommodated.
I'd recommend booking during peak periods as this cafe is very popular.

At west kirby today for a few hours out called into Toast near the station. Lovely staff and very clean coffee shop., had a latte and apple pie cake absolutely scrumptious. Nice walk down to the beach and marina, a few shops still open, some closed since i was last there over 12mths ago. If you appreciate good coffee...I would recommend here. I love a flat white and I'm disappointed when it's not how a true flat white should be, strong and small. It's absolutely spot on here, they clearly take pride in how they make drinks and the atmosphere is lovely. It gets busy so if you get there early there's seats and there's seats in the courtyard. We usually go there after the Mersey tri club swim at the marine lake on a Saturday and it really makes the weekend great!
Staff are lovely, it's a great coffee shop. I can't say about the food or tea but they have lots of lovely looking cakes!

Popped in for lunch on valentine's day, my wife and I ordered the breakfast pancakes. Service was fine and coffee was lovely.
When food came, my wife noticed her eggs were raw and slimy. She told me not to make a fuss or return it. I hadn't noticed and already cut my food up, ate some and then realized mine was the same.
I asked the lad behind the counter to come and look, he was very apologetic and assured me he would sort it. Next thing, the chef Juan came out and was poking through my plate. He told me that if I wanted my eggs over done then I should have asked. I told him that I'd have been happy if they were just done. Juan wasn't happy with this.
I was accused of taking too long to dispute that my eggs were raw, we'd only had the plate in front of us for a few minutes.

We attended the monthly supper club, for a traditional Chinese taster menu and had a wonderful evening. Booking in advance is a must.
Tables were laid out in two long bench style arrangements and there are 12 people per table. We attended as a group of four and had a group either side of us, who were lovely and we had a great chat with.
The host gave a talk at the start with her visiting chef friend about the dishes we’d be served throughout the night and then periodically we’d be brought out each sharer or main dish.
It’s also bring your own beer for the event, so to have a bottle of wine of your choice is also a bonus.

It supposed to be crispy on the outside and soft moist on the inside, rather i got a very crispy waffle through and through almost like eating a waffle cone. Vanilla ice cream also very small in scoop. Cost additional £3 for an extra waffle! Not worth it! Atmosphere is lovely, food is tasty and good value. I am surprised to see that other customers have described the food as overpriced - I personally find that cafes in West Kirby are expensive, and this is one of the more affordable ones, but that's just my experience! I tend to order a breakfast sandwich, with Halloumi and Mushrooms, which is £6.50 (in other cafes in West Kirby I have paid over £10 for a very similar sandwich!). Best Tapas in Town! We visited on Friday evening, for Tapas, we had a wonderful selection of incredibly delicious dishes. I’m Vegan and my partner is coeliac, the owner was able to ‘veganise’ so many dishes and almost all were gluten free. We struggle to eat out, however, we left with full bellies and very satisfied. We will be spending several months in west Kirby in the winter, so hope to be a regular. Absolutely love the food and hospitality!

Usually I don't visit West Kirby too often as usually not too much to do during this time of year, I visited a few months ago during late summer and this place appeared to be relatively busy at the time, I brought my friend to West Kirby at his request and he persuaded us to try this place out, we arrived and were greeted by the staff who were friendly, we were able to select a table as the place was a bit quiet at the time of visit during the late afternoon, I believe this was because it was pouring down so the weather was not the best. I believe this visit was during a Monday as well
We both ordered the Haddock & Chips for our food at about £15 each and I have to say it was absolutely delicious, it was fresh, wonderfully prepared and very much Melt In The Mouth, very much enjoyed it and would highly recommend everyone to visit this independent establishment, if the weather picks up and you get a good table you definitely can get a lovely view out towards the Coast, Would I comeback? Absolutely! I would much prefer to support the Local & Independent businesses that need it the most especially during these times.

Having had a hip replacement last year our walks have been confined to up and down the flat of South Parade. Today (Tuesday 8th Feb 2922) for the first time, we did the lake circuit. 👍🤸👫 We usually park, then start and stop at Tanskey's but today we having shopped first in Morrisons, we started at The Yacht Club and we went for a coffee at the Ice Cream shop to walk with. We then saw, for the first time, THE SALE LOFT. We"d spotted the building before but not known it was a restaurant. After our walk we went back and had lunch there.
Very impressed. The food was lovely, the situation with the views across the Dee Estuary onto Hilbre and beyond are superb. The staff were brilliant, even though our friend from Minnesota can't understand Scouse humour. 😅😂 She was still lovely ♥️. My wife said the wine was good, so I can definitely say we will be back.

I bought a mega breakfast with a free child's meal from Morrisons cafe yesterday. My son really enjoyed his chips nuggets and beans, sadly my mega breakfast was missing and egg and two pieces of bacon where pale and hard. (they looked old). Was very disappointed with this place. Staff didn’t seem to pay attention to what I ordered at all. I asked for a iced mocha with skimmed milk and first of all the guy put my drink through as an iced latte and then once he started to make my drink he put in the wrong milk and I had to get him to remake my drink, I then felt very uncomfortable as the other staff member kept asking lots of questions about why I can drink one type of milk but not the other. Carlee’s a great find in West Kirby. A bright airy cafe beautifully decorated in teal and mustard colours.Seating is available outside the front of the cafe. We stopped for lunch and selected the specials. Quiche and a Ploughman’s lunch. Both served on a board with a selection of cheese, pork pies, warm bread, pickles, chutney, crackers, slaw and more……. a feast! There is a large menu offering sandwiches, salads, homemade soup and cakes. Welcoming friendly staff. Carla the owner came to ask us if we were happy with our food, which we assured her we were. Lovely ad hoc stop at Carlees on Tuesday morning with my wife whilst walking the dog round the Marine Lake.
Used to love coming here when it was Cibos and it hasn't changed much in terms of layout and decor which is good.
We both had rhe toasted sandwich offer which was fab (£5.95 for toasted sausage or bacon sandwich and tea or coffee, £1 upgrade to get a Cappuccino). Was great sitting outside and our dog loved the free biscuits.

We were looking for somewhere nice after a walk around the marina and found Love Brownies on Google maps. We were made up to find it! Lovely, perfectly made coffees and happy to make in our own cups plus we had some absolutely divine cakes - they don't just do brownies. My son had a lovely piece of stem ginger cake and we also got an almond pastry type cake which was delicious. The brownies were so cute - individual in their own box and wonderful flavours - we had a wild mint one, a morello cherry one, an espresso one and a salted caramel one (can you tell that we couldn't decide which to choose!) I don't think you could go wrong with any flavour to be honest. Can't wait to go back again. Staff were lovely, place was spotlessly clean and bright. Loved it!
