The Norwegian Petroleum Museum, located by the port in a striking building made of various rocks, offers an immersive experience delving into the history of North Sea oil exploration. Despite initial reservations about visiting an 'oil museum,' the facility boasts an impressive array of information and exhibits. Visitors can marvel at the world's largest drill bit, explore simulated rigs, and view a vast collection of oil-platform models.
This museum employed technology to make it more interactive for visitors. The architecture is well done and so are the exhibitions. Although the oil narrative on the wall is comprehensive, it is very dense and it is difficult to follow if there’s a lot of people trying to read it and perhaps the information could be broken up a bit. There’s great activities for children and their version of the story is well illustrated and fun to follow.

Very informative, interesting and interactive. This museum wasn't top of my list when I first came to Stavanger but I really enjoyed it and I'd recommend going. The history was fascinating and there were a lot of interactive elements.

Great museum. It is quite specific museum and if somebody is not really interesting on offshore, oil and gas industry probably will be bored. I am crazy about that and I was so happy to have a chance to visit that place. My close friends and relatives works in Norwegian oil and gas industry and it was so heart touching to see platforms they worked on or built. Very friendly stuff. Very clean and generally modern and new building. Clean toilets. My kid loved visitors game and a prize ❤️. She loves it and for now the prize is her the biggest treasure. Price is quite high. It was something about 250 NOK for 1 adult and a school age kid but still worth. And what I like the most - the museum is open from 10:00 while all the other museums are open from 11:00. From my side - I do recommend to visit that place.

Interesting visit included on our Viking tour. We had to detour here because of bad weather going to the shetlands, so we did a walking tour of the city which was interesting as well as visiting the museum. Be advised, though, there are many hills and slopes, so if you have a problem with walking, you may not want to do the tour.
David L — Google review
Intriguing museum about an important part of Norwegian history. It features interactive exhibits that are in both Norwegian and English. I recommend the vertical movie located at the end of the tour of the model oil platform. Was really interesting to see how the oil and gas were pulled up in a vertical, immersive way.

Must visit when you are in Stavanger. It gives a great insight in the history of Norwegian petrol industry which has made the foundation of a Norwegian welfare state. Also a good historical exposition of Stavanger city and interactive games. Interesting both for the kids and grownups.

Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
Stavanger Cathedral, the oldest in Norway, is an elegant medieval structure with a blend of Gothic and Romanesque features. Completed in 1125, it stands as a testament to the city's rich history. The surrounding area boasts 18th- and 19th-century wooden houses that add to its cultural heritage. The cathedral's architecture reflects its long history, showcasing a mix of Romanesque and Gothic styles.
Stavanger Cathedral, also known as Stavanger domkirke, is a historic and architecturally significant church located in the city of Stavanger, Norway. It is the oldest cathedral in Norway that has been in continuous use since its construction. The cathedral was built between 1100 and 1150, during the reign of King Sigurd Jorsalfarer (Sigurd the Crusader). It is dedicated to Saint Swithun, an Anglo-Saxon bishop of Winchester. The cathedral originally featured a Romanesque style, characterized by thick walls, small windows, and rounded arches. However, after a fire in 1272, it was rebuilt with Gothic elements, including pointed arches and larger windows. Stavanger Cathedral stands as a testament to Norway's rich religious and architectural heritage, offering a glimpse into the country's medieval past.
Aleksandar M — Google review
This beautiful cathedral is 900 years old and is the oldest cathedral in Norway. It is worth the small entry fee of around £5 to see the wonderful interior. The style is Romanesque/gothic. The first organ was installed in 1622, then in 1992 a classical organ by the Reil brothers was installed requiring modifications to the roof structure. I did hear the organ as they were doing some rehearsals and it sounded amazing, hopefully I can go back when they have a service. I would highly recommend a visit.

The Stavanger Cathedral church bells were ringing marking time, the surrounding was calm and bright as it gets on a cloudy Stavanger day and the bells melodious ringing for a  duration indicating time of 12.30PM and in my memory prompted a lyric....... "Ring them bells Saint Peter where the four winds blow, Ring them bells with an iron hand, Oh,it's rush hour now... ......................." Bob Dylan It was a unique experience in entering a cathedral  felt that we were ushered into the Cathedral entrance and the Almighty calling us...on the 28th November 2024 and as we entered through the main door we had a magnificent view of the long church and on entering we could see the two long aisles on the side which gave the impression of a very large space and very quiet and peaceful one with the roof four storey high(estimated) building dispelling the lyrics wordings "it is rush hour now" The seating capacity of the church is 800 we learnt and the rows and rows of chairs were looking very orderly and precisely laid out. Stavanger Cathedral is unique in that the original structure was in the Anglo Norman style and as   traditionally historical records handed down was built in 1125 AD after Sigurd Jorasalfarer( Sigurd the Crusader) the King of Norway named Stavanger as a Cathedral city and Bishop Reniald the Bishop of Winchester was responsible for the construction. The unique architectural elements are rounded arches, round-arch blind arcades and have included videos which show these elements and the uniqueness is that these have been retained in the existing structure in spite of remodelling due to fire in 1225 and many attempts at modernisation. This church is under renovation and the renovation of the interior is extensive as it has been so since the last few years as we undestandand is obvious if one were to view pictures from a few years earlier. The Cathedral is open for a few hours a day and work completion would likely take some time into the new year. At the entrance of the cathedral there is an Epitaph which commemorates thek fact that Stavanger has been bestowed with the status of a Cathedral with a Bishop by oSigurd Joraslfarer in the Epitaph. In the Cathedral there are 4 epitaphs at the four corners and they are removed and will be restored as the restoration progresses, recalling the Epitaph dedicated to Humble 1661,Godzten1660-1662 & Fransen 1674. and could not record the last one. The Humble epitaph is a commemorative plaque for Marcus Christensen Humble as archbishop in Stavanger and the family portrait was attributed to Anders Luritsen Smith.  Through recent research, the wood carving work has now  been attributed to sculptor Peiter Negelsen also. Godzten 1660-1662 is a memento of Stefren Pedersen Godtzen, who was mayor of Stavanger, Woodcarver work and family portrait was attributed to Anders Lauritsen Smith. Through recent research, the woodcarver's work has also been attributed to sculptor Peiter Neigesen Fransen Epitaph 1674The Franson epitaph is a commemorative over*North Rogaland woodcarver's work and the portrait painting is, like the other epitaphs, attributed to Anders Lauritsen Smith and also to unknown painter With the visit to long aisles and the dead ends with display the Epitaphs the glass stained pictures captivates us visually and it would be interesting to have the story of each stained glass We have also enclosed a video of the church internally from the nave showing the demarcation of the Anglo Norman style and the later Gothic style and from the nave the wall frame which encompasses the stained glass stories is the demarcation line and further demarcated by the crucifix at the top Stavanger Cathedral which we are told is of the vintage of Notre Dame which had Bishop in 1163 AD and Stavanger Cathedral had a Bishop in 1125 AD. A Cathedral not to be missed on Stavanger Norway visit.

Stavanger Cathedral is a true gem in the heart of Stavanger. With its stunning medieval architecture and beautifully preserved interiors, it offers a unique glimpse into Norway’s rich history. The peaceful atmosphere inside invites quiet reflection, while the detailed stonework and stained glass windows are simply captivating. It’s a must-visit landmark — whether for its historical significance, its serene beauty, or just a moment of calm in the bustling city center. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Stavanger!

Historic city center
Sights & Landmarks
Gamle Stavanger, also known as Old Town, is a historic district in Stavanger featuring well-preserved 18th- and 19th-century white wooden cottages painted in unique pastel hues. Initially slated for demolition after World War II, the area was saved by a forward-thinking city architect who recognized its potential for tourism. Today, it's a trendy residential area and a popular spot for visitors to wander through the narrow cobblestone streets and admire the picturesque houses.
This was our first stop on a Norwegian cruise from the UK and we woke up to this lovely little town. There is everything you could need here. The town is great, but make time.to.visit the old town, see the architecture and enjoy the ambience of the bars and cafes. We will definitely look.to.come here again.

Stopped here on our cruise and walked around the lovely town. Everyone so helpful and friendly too. Take the cruise through the fjords if you can, they are stunning!

One of the most beautiful old towns I’ve ever visited. The charming white houses perfectly reflect and embody the spirit of Norwegian culture. It’s the best place for a peaceful walk and taking Instagram-worthy photos.
Dawid M — Google review
Stroll down charming lanes, where time seems to stand still. Quaint wooden houses whisper stories of centuries past. Flowers spill from window boxes, adding splashes of color to the scene. A gentle breeze carries the scent of the sea, mixing with the aroma of freshly baked bread. It's easy to lose yourself in the magic of this preserved neighborhood.

The Norwegian Canning Museum is a fascinating attraction housed in a former cannery building that offers exhibits, equipment demonstrations, and films showcasing the regional canning industry. The museum provides insight into Stavanger's history as a hub for canning factories, with displays detailing the 12-stage canning process and the significant role of canneries in the city's economy.
Great fun packing (rubber) sardines into cans. Loved it. Very informative and interactive. A must do if you are in town.
Bruce — Google review
Loved this museum. Your ticket gives you free entry on the same day to about 4 other museums and half price entry the following day. A museum about books and printing which leads nicely in to printing on tinned fish and canning fish. There's also a small dwelling decked out as it would have been decades ago. Toilets and a very popular cafe inside.
Rachel C — Google review
An absolute gem! One of those rare museums that you actually learn something from it since it was so well explained. The only reason why I don't give the 5 * is for the canning part that it was too long. Parts of it felt a bit unnecessary. Anyway, amazing place!
Annie O — Google review
One of the coolest museums. Hands on stuff, tons of information, super interesting. Very glad we went.
Rose M — Google review
Don't be fooled, it's not just about cans! Though I took a lot of pictures of the artwork on cans, this museum is about the community that grew up around canning, how it saved the town's economy, and the artwork and design behind the product. This museum is one of a collection that you can buy a single ticket for and get entry to the others.
Rory L — Google review
This was an excellent museum. Peirs, the guide, was brilliant and very informative. Totally recommend a visit.
Elaine U — Google review
This museum is a surprise! You wouldn't suspect the interesting facts about canning over the years. What is more, there is a second hall dedicated to book printing and publishing history. Do not miss it!
Irena N — Google review
This museum is divided into 2 parts: the first one is related to printing and gives you an overview of the development of different printing techniques and machines. The second one is related to canning, a once flourishing industry in the city of Stavanger that exported goods in 140 countries all over the world. As a bonus, between the 2 museums, there’s also “No 90”, a restored regency style house built in 1836. The ticket costs 140 NOK (about 12€), but you can pay half the price if you already visited the Iron Age Farm and kept the receipt.

Garden
Flor og Fjære is a captivating destination that offers an unforgettable experience in Norway. This enchanting estate features meticulously curated gardens bursting with vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and serene ponds connected by charming pathways. Visitors can embark on guided tours led by engaging guides who share the island's rich history while creating a relaxed atmosphere. The adventure begins with a scenic fjord boat trip, followed by an exploration of the stunning gardens that feel like stepping into a living painting.
This is a must-see in Stavanger! Every part of the garden is beautiful and breathtaking. The tour was interesting and gave background on the area and the different gardens. The food was delicious and portions were generous. It was an overall wonderful experience and great way to spend the day!
Abby K — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking! My mother had been there many years ago, and I visited for the first time, and we were both stunned at how beautiful the gardens were and how put together the whole experience was! When we arrived at the island we were met by very friendly and efficient staff pointing us in the right direction, and our guide Olav was simply amazing! His passion and enthusiasm shone through the entire way, and you can tell he’s built this place with so much love and care! He was super informative and very funny, and I loved following him around and hear the story of how the place came to be. When the tour was over we were led into the “jungle restaurant”, were the staff was nothing short of amazing! The food was excellent and the drinks were great! Also major plus that the bathrooms (as well as the entire rest of the place I believe) were wheelchair accessible with a lowered sink, soap dispenser and mirror. After dinner we had time to walk through the garden at our own pace, buy more drinks from the beach bar and visit the souvenir shop. The entire place was amazing from start to finish, and the staff really made us feel welcome! The owners have done an amazing job at hiring the right people for the place and making it the experience it is! Though the price can seem a bit steep it is 100% worth the money, and you’ll be blowed away by the beauty of this place. We’ll definitely be back in the future. If you’re in Stavanger this is a must!

Seafood restaurant
Fisketorget Stavanger is a vibrant spot situated by the water, offering a mix of fish market and restaurant. It's known for serving up local seafood dishes alongside an array of beer and wine options. Visitors can savor Norwegian comfort food like the hearty fiskesuppe while taking in scenic views of the inlet. In winter, guests can expect top-quality fresh seafood whether dining in or selecting their own at the market.
Great range of fresh seafood. I ordered catch of the day and oysters. Unfortunately, there is no options for people who don’t like fish. One of our kid does not like it at all and we asked for pasta with some cheese for him. It wasn’t really tasty. So, the restaurant is a great place to eat for fish lovers only.
Iuliia T — Google review
A very nice restaurant, the service was good. I liked the open kitchen, you can really see the passion on the chef’s face. I have the best fish soup of my life, it was more elevated, with green oil and plenty of textures. It was simply a delight to have lunch in here.
Antonia S — Google review
I chose the 3 best options deal on the menu and I couldn’t have been more satisfied. Fish soup, catch of the day, and plum dessert! The atmosphere was relaxing, the service was amazing, and the food was beyond delicious. All of the flavors complemented each other and this is a key destination when in Stavanger!
Bre R — Google review
Delightful!! Fish soup was extremely flavorful and full of fish, seasonings and crostini ⭐️ Catch of the day was garnished with salmon roe and thoughtful sauce, accompanied by potatoes and veggies. A large variety of fresh seafood to go, as well as packaged delicacies are also available 🙂

Our Experience in Stavanger – Disappointing Seafood Restaurant We were visiting Stavanger and looking for an authentic Norwegian seafood experience. This restaurant showed up in the reviews, so we decided to give it a try. We asked for traditional Norwegian salmon, but surprisingly, they didn’t have it. Instead, we ordered shrimp, lobster, and crab. The lobster was average, nothing special. The shrimp was a disaster — no flavor at all, and it wasn’t properly cleaned. The crab was also disappointing and didn’t taste fresh. We couldn’t finish the food. When it was time to pay, the bill came to 349 euros, which was shockingly high for such a poor experience. Overall, we were very disappointed. We felt misled by the reviews, and unfortunately, this place didn’t live up to our expectations at all.
Fares A — Google review
Very overpriced meals with more sallad filling than actual substance. In short i would describe this place as a typical overpriced tourist trap to avoid. Of our 3 different menu items only 1 was even remotely acceptable. Catch of the day was fine, nice sauce and reaaonable serving size. The "largest shrimp sandwich" as it was called on the menu was a joke. A very small handful tasteless shrimps on a huge bed of raw mixed sallad to give the illusion of size without actually having to serve anything of worth. The bread wasnt bread, it was a thick slice of the same foccacia bread served in the bread basket drenched in a dill mayonnaise. 310nok for 90% sallad, the wrong bread and 4 slices of cucumber and radish with a tiny portion scrimp. No, just no. Blasphemous. The spicy salmon sallad was even worse. Imagine the largest bowl (akin to a family sized ramen bowl) filled with 700grams of the same plane mixed sallad, thick pieces of chopped chilli peppers (not even de-seeded) and 6 tiny pieces of plain raw salmon. Again, amazingly stingy protein portion size. Just a bunch of bland sallad that likely came pre-packaged. I assume this place would be nice on a hot summer day while enjoying a beer and maybe something else on the menu. For lunch however this was the biggest disappointment in a long time.
Julian H — Google review
Must eat-in place in Stavanger. Although the menu is not very extensive, each position is amazing prepared with care and concentration on details. Strongly recommend especially the fish soup and the catch of the day.
Olgierd D — Google review
It’s in a great spot. The view is awesome. The food is decent - the fish soup is really soupy, could use more cream. The mussels are tender and tasty. The service is good, we don’t have to wait too long for the food to come out. It’s a little pricy bs other spots.

Sabi Omakase in Stavanger, Norway is a Michelin-starred restaurant offering an exclusive sushi omakase experience for only 10 diners per seating. With a Nordic twist on traditional sushi, chef Roger Joya meticulously prepares bite-sized dishes such as tuna nigiri with marinated seaweed, reindeer sashimi, and flat oysters with salmon caviar.
Their sushi was the best I have ever had. The wine pairing was nicely done. It was such a great experience we had there. We will go back again! It's highly recommended for visitors.
Hwelen Y — Google review
The restaurant is undoubtedly a must-visit for sushi lovers seeking a refined dining experience. The meal I enjoyed was absolutely stunning, with 20 pieces of sushi, each more exceptional than the last. Every bite was a journey of flavors, showcasing an undeniable mastery of Japanese culinary art. I especially loved the delicate fish and the precision in assembling each piece. However, despite the remarkable quality of the food, the overall experience left me with mixed feelings. The meal lasted nearly four hours, and the length began to take a toll on my comfort. Sitting on uncomfortable chairs for such a long time made the experience feel drawn out, which slightly dampened the joy of the tasting. I decided not to go for the wine pairing, mainly because the aperitif we were served fell short of the food’s high standard. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the level of the cuisine, which made me hesitant to try the wines. The service was highly professional but perhaps a bit too intricate for my taste. The numerous explanations and anecdotes throughout the meal, while interesting, added to the heaviness of the experience. At some point, I would have preferred to enjoy the meal quietly without so many frequent interruptions. In summary, Sabi Omakase offers an exceptional culinary experience with unforgettable sushi, but the pace and overall comfort could be improved to provide a smoother and more enjoyable dining experience.

Great food and quite a variety. Staff was very friendly, helpful but a tad confused is they had/served alcohol. In the end yes, they found it. Atmosphere lost a star because of the background music - 1980's top ten does not suit the vibe of this place.
Paul B — Google review
Went to Omakase as 3 friends, and had a fantastic evening. The sushis are made right in front of you, by a chef with a great sense of humour, and handed to you for the most fresh experience ever. The ingredients are extremely fine, and we had a feeling our money was not going in the reputation, but completely in the skills and the quality of the food.
Briac L — Google review
This is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is amazing, the service is incredible specially if you combine it with the wine package, which is perfectly matched with the food. The limited amount of people and the entertainment given by the staff makes it a guaranteed experience. I celebrated my 50 birthday here and couldn’t be better. Thanks!!
Diego — Google review
Superb dining experience that was intimate and enlightening. With a limit of only 10 seats right at the chef's table (or in this case, counter), you get up close and personal with the entire meal service - from detailed explanations of ingredients to witnessing how each individual piece is crafted in front of you and then deftly placed on your plate... The seafood that evening was of the best I've had - the flavors of each course melding into the next seamlessly. Drinks pairing was spot on. The entire experience was really surreal as I felt like I was transplanted into Japan yet people around me spoke in Norwegian/English. Definitely a must do in Stavanger.

Fantastic experience! Excellent produce, the atmosphere was intimate but also comfortably and relaxed - Roger (THE Chef!) was in a jolly mood 🤩 I think this is the first time I didn't care about what I was drinking (even if it was sooo good and very well matched) because I was too busy and fascinated by the food, the chef and the tastings 😍❤️
Linda S — Google review
Went to this restaurant for the first time and even though felt a bit uneasy in the beginning, with good introduction and explanation by the sommelier who was serving us was soon feeling very comfortable! There were only 10 of us all sitting along the bar, there was no menu and we were all in the hands of two chefs working and talking to us in front of us. The food was excellent quality as well as wine menu, most of the fish was local, sourced from different locations in Norway, yellowtail from Denmark and wasabi from Iceland! It was such a pleasure to watch chefs prepare the fish, using the torch and awaiting what was coming next in some suspense. But the atmosphere was very relaxing and the music helped! The food was plentiful and you should never disclose how much more is coming not to spoil the surprise! On a more critical note I liked the cocktail a bit less because it was not easy to access the sauce in the glass. But overall what an experience!!!

Restaurant
Re-naa is a renowned restaurant in Stavanger, Norway, and the first outside of Oslo to receive a Michelin star. With an intimate 21-seat dining experience, guests are treated to a chef's tasting menu featuring the best products from the sea, fjords, land, forests, and mountains. The restaurant offers imaginative platings and an impressive wine selection. It stands out for its supreme quality of cooking, service, and presentation without any gimmicks or theatricals.
What an absolutely flawless dining experience. I've made it into quite a serious hobby to travel around the world to visit different restaurants, and Re-Naa is without a doubt one of the best experiences I've ever had. The depth, variation and purity of flavours if each dish is mind blowing. Every dish left a strong impression on the palate and memory. The service is extremely friendly but still perfectly professional. You can tell that every staff member is genuinely passionate about their job. This is no hyperbole, but I will venture to say that this is one of the world's best restaurants.

reNaa is a lovely fine dining experience. From the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave this is truly a world-class experience. The servers, chef in the open kitchen and sommeliers all play their part in your dining experience. There are some amazing courses and the attention to detail is very apparent in everything, from the glassware, plates, and just exquisite techniques of food preparation. It’s new Nordic cuisine I guess. The shellfish and their signature calamri tagliatelle were certainly hits for me. The lamb was also amazing. The starter “taco” was not my favorite but was still tasty. I had a lovely dinner but prowl’s not return. It’s a high price point. With wine pairing (just the honest and something?) came to around $800 pp Totally enjoyed my experience and the staff were great. Just not sure it was worth the $$

We made a reservation early 2024 when Re-naa had 2 stars. Now they received their third before or actual visit. I can not find anything to complain about, everything went smooth like clockwork and the servings, 20 of them were all delicious, majority seafood based. We spent a bit more than 4 hours here and the time flew. Wine pairing was perfect except last dessert whine, a bit too sweet for my taste but otherwise a flawless experience! Head chef welcomed us and made us feel very welcomed.

We scored a table at ReNaa and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Every seafood dish was a masterpiece: creative, flavorful, and flawlessly executed. ❤️❤️❤️ My dinner at Re-Naa was an unforgettable gastronomic experience, showcasing seafood and lamb with impressive mastery. The menu, primarily focused on fish, shellfish, and lamb, captivated me with every dish. Among the highlights, the mackerel with wasabi and kaffir lime was a true explosion of flavors, perfectly balanced between freshness and spice. The lobster with elderflower and sea buckthorn also stood out for its subtlety and originality—an audacious and delicious combination. The grilled lamb served with porcini mushrooms added a comforting earthy note, cooked to perfection. For dessert, the mirabelle plums with fig leaf ice cream were my favorite. It was a refined and surprising dessert that concluded the meal on a light and delightful note. I began the evening with a glass of champagne as an aperitif, which set the stage perfectly for the feast to come. The incredible selection of champagnes, sourced from exclusive small producers, is a significant asset for bubble enthusiasts. Personally, I also opted for the non-alcoholic pairing, which turned out to be an excellent and creative experience. Each drink complemented the dishes beautifully, adding a new dimension to the overall meal. The service was simply perfect: friendly, attentive, and highly professional, making this evening truly memorable. In summary, I absolutely loved my experience at Re-Naa and recommend this restaurant without hesitation to anyone seeking an exceptional culinary adventure.

The food and service was great. The head chef/owner went out to every table and greeted his guest which made me feel like we were at his home. We also had the pleasure of meeting his wife and business partner and she was phenomenal. I highly recommend the wine pairing, it definitely added to the meal. Be prepared to spend at least $400 but its well worth it.

This was an amazing dining experience with locally sourced ingridients used in playful and amazingly well matched combination. The Michelin star is well deserved! The whole crew made their utmost to give us a fantastic evening we will never forget! Thank you to Sven Erik and Torill with crew for an amazing evening! 21 courses served over 4 hours. Some might call it expensive, I call it value for money.

Tango restaurant, although not yet awarded stars, has been recognized in the Michelin guides for its promising potential. The restaurant relocated next to its sister establishment, Fish & Cow, in 2018 but maintains its commitment to using hyper-local and seasonal ingredients. With an intimate 30-seat setting and a diverse wine selection, Tango offers a 7-dish menu that changes with the seasons. The staff ensures a seamless culinary experience for guests.
My best experience of a restaurant in my 7 days of Stavanger Norway! Every item was carefully prepared & presented with the utmost precision & aesthetics! It’s pleasing to the eye first then to your palate! Properly portioned & timed so you were never too full to have another bite. Wine collection is quite unique & appropriate! 1 of 8 Michelin recommended restaurants in Stavanger. Though no star has been awarded, the dinning experience is as great as it can be!! Will come back again!

Just a special experience all around.7 course tasting highlights a lot of traditional Norwegian ingredients in a very elevated slightly Asian fusion inspired approach. Attentive and friendly front of house and chef detailed description of every course served. Pricey but the experience was wonderful.

Really unsure how this isn’t a Michelin star. It’s consistently delicious, service is fantastic, and not a single dish or sauce misses. The Saturday lunch is one of the best valued meals for the quality. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner

Amazing food both tasty and beautiful and great service! The wine was also extremely good - go for a wine package it is worth it! My warmest recommendations to the best restaurant I have ever visited in Norway! Big plus for understanding allergies and intolerances. Thank you for making the evening so special!

We had supper at POLKA. It is a new concept, based on "social grilling". So there is an electric grill in the middle of each table, one orders different meats or vegetables and grills by themselves. Looks cool, but there are two major flaws: experience with grilling time (different for different meats) and whatever you order it is raw (no marinate or anything else). But for sure worth to try.

Very nice food as per usual. The 5 (7) course dinner is 1190 + 890 for the standard wine package. We also opted for the 2 extra dishes. The cheese was ~450, the caviar was a surprising 1200, bit steep for crunchy waffles, rømme and kaviar. I do wish the waiter had informed on the extra’s costs, the same way they market the standard vs exclusive wine package, and their relative prices. Probably won’t get the extras next time. Still amazing food and great service. Highly recommend.

Service was friendly and efficient. The servers were very accommodating with our drinks requests and the dishes were presented beautifully and were interesting. A small gripe was that besides the amazing arctic char and deer, the other dishes didn't quite work for me in the combination of flavors. But overall a good evening out.

Bellies is a unique dining concept located in Stavanger, housed in a cozy yellow building that was once an old canning factory. The restaurant offers a completely plant-based tasting menu that changes with the seasons, celebrating and elevating vegetables with ingredients like almond butter and black truffle. Known for its utilization of Asian flavors such as Sichuan pepper and ssamjang, Bellies has earned a Michelin recommendation.
What a delightful, delicious, creative meal. Bellies can only be described as a culinary triumph. I enjoyed every bite and will certainly come back next time I am in Stavanger. Congratulations to the chef!

To say that this place is phenomenal… that is an understatement! They have a fixed menu but welcomed me in. The staff is absolutely wonderful and attentive, the chef is welcoming and creates artistic and exquisite dishes, and the atmosphere is lovely. Perfect place to eat.

From the first to the final dish, we were thoroughly impressed by how well-executed each course was—especially given that the entire menu is plant-based. At no point did it feel like anything was missing; we never once found ourselves wishing for animal protein. The flavours were vibrant, and the creativity behind each dish truly stood out. Having dined at many Michelin-starred and World’s 50 Best restaurants, we can honestly say this is one of the rare places that truly delivers on every level. If you're in Stavanger, this is a spot we would highly recommend.

This a dine-in Vegeterian restaurant. The servers are very nice, and the food comes quickly. They have a fixed menu, you choose the drinks. I had an 8-course meal, and it was absolutely delicious. I do not really have any criticism for them. I enjoyed the dinner service. I recommend going here for anyone that is into Vegeterian food.

Very creative food. Every dish was well thought through and pretty. The only down side was the uncomfortable chairs.

I have been to this restaurant a handful of times now and I have only had the best experiences at Bellies. The exeptional quality and flavours of the food, brilliant service and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended and worth the visit. The best thing about it is that it’s all plant based!

Amazing spot in Stavanger! Had an absolutely incredible time with my family here. The 9 course degustation menu was divine. My grandma is a very picky eater and a heavy meat eater, but this place changed her as she licked off everything off the plates😅 Will 100% come back one day! If you're a meat eater, this place is still for you! After the experience, instead of feeling heavy and bloated, we all felt so fresh and fulfilled. I'd also like to thank Kristoffersen for the wonderful and attentive service!

A hidden secret in Stavanger. 9 course vegetarian dinner. Great flavors and nice atmosphere. Very good service. Be aware that they have wooden chairs which can be tiring for those with a bit of a bad back
