Palazzo d'Avalos is a stunning ancient building in Vasto, housing the Musei Civici di Vasto, one of the oldest archaeological museums in Abruzzo. The palace features Neapolitan-style gardens and hosts various museums including an archaeological museum, Pinacoteca, contemporary art gallery, and ancient costume museum. For a small fee, visitors can explore the diverse collections and enjoy the beautifully restored Neapolitan garden with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Marvelous palace in the best of Vasto. Being able to visit it for 3,5 euro would already be a treat. Instead it also houses a magnificent pastiche of many collections: archeology, costumes, modern art, paintings by the brothers Palizzi, and a restored Neapolitan garden. All for 3.5 euro and open until midnight. They deserve every penny.

Beatiful building, still has the old feel about it and gives a very unique look and atmosphere to the town center. Only seen the outside , yet it did gave a magical experience.

Southern Italian restaurant
Ristorante La Transumanza is a delightful culinary gem that beautifully embodies the essence of Italian cuisine. The name itself, derived from the Latin 'transmundus,' signifies a journey across land, which perfectly reflects the restaurant's commitment to offering an authentic dining experience. Guests can indulge in exquisite pasta dishes and delectable desserts that leave a lasting impression. While pizza isn't available during afternoon hours, the seafood risotto paired with their renowned tiramisu more than compensates for it.
I tried the tasting menu and it was excellent, probably the best food in Vasto. The service was also great. Decent prices for the quality/quantity. I would definitely return if I have the chance.

I respect the positive reviews on this place but I have to disagree for the most part. I agree its a nice place with great atmosphere and nice staff - more or less. But like many restaurants with a lot of tourists some of the food was down right bad. Tuna steak was excellent; fried seafood was horrible and grey. Salad was sad, and had the most pale tomatoes I've ever seen; ridiculous in a country that practically swims in delicious red tomatoes. And the tiramisu was barely four spoonfuls. A rip off. Overall the food lacked love and care. I'd rather have had a pizza in the lovely piazza.

Very cool place. They have outstanding pasta and excellent desserts. Unfortunately, you cannot order pizza in the afternoon, which was a major disappointment. Fortunately, the seafood risotto I had instead combined with the excellent tiramisu made up for it. The place looked very nice on the inside, and has very nice decor, featuring a large amount of sheep. The prices are a bit high, but tolerable. I hear the beer was good also.

Trabocco Cungarelle is a historic dining spot located in Vasto, offering a unique seafood dining experience. This open-sided shack on stilts provides stunning views and access via a bridge. The restaurant follows the tradition of not handing out menus; instead, guests are treated to a procession of freshly caught seafood dishes. The food is prepared with high-quality local ingredients from both land and sea, ensuring an exceptional culinary experience.
We had such a fun time dining at this trabocco! The service was kind and attentive, and the seafood was delicious. We enjoyed the wide variety of fish and shellfish served in diverse and inventive preparations which highlighted the delicate flavors of the very fresh 'frutti di mare.' Portions were generous, but not overwhelming. Check out Trabocco Cungarelle if you are visiting Vasto!

We have been here three times now as we travel constantly between the North and Puglia. We have had two good experiences and one bad. The last one, today was very disappointing. We had booked a table on the terrace and the famous Brodetto, which we ate there before. It arrived piping hot and included 2 mussels on top, one of which had not opened. Please chef, if you are only offering two mussels, make sure they have both opened! It took our waiter a long time to ask if we wanted to add pasta. We said yes - the pasta took half an hour to arrive, by which time the Brodetto was stone cold. The service was perfunctory as a large party had arrived. We were ignored, no question of dessert or coffee. We left feeling disatisfied! Normally the food is good. Would we return? Not on a Friday lunchtime!

The restaurant site pictures/views are not accurate. It’s in industrial part of the city with lots of construction materials , cranes in view. Menu was small with not many options to choose. Most dishes were listed for min of 2 people. Reservation was made by our Airbnb host and ordered fish soup that he advised us to try. We were notified by our server that 2 soups were ordered and we will have to pay € 100 even though the menu didn’t show that dish for min 2 person. Then some woman came and said that she could make an exception and make only one for us. Not to mention that it was a huge dish for even 2 people. Nothing special about it. Ended up with one dish only. Didn’t enjoy neither the food nor situation

The food and service was excellent! We had the fish soup which I agree is the best in Vasco. Our waiter spoke perfect English and explained every course in detail, recommend an excellent wine to complement our meal. The views of the harbour are excellent. I recommend you call for reservations we didn't but had to wait for a table they were kind enough to accommodate us!

Lovely place with an astonishing panorama of the sea, that can be admired from the terrace that elevates itself almost above the salted water. Their typical dish "Brodetto alla Vastese" is pure joy for people who appreciate fish based cuisine. The personnel is as lovely, kind, and welcoming as it can be. Do not get fooled by the look of the front of the Restaurant that hosts a bar, it hides a well furnished dining hall on the back, sided by the amazing terrace I mentioned before.

Lovely restaurant! We were seated quickly and served a bowl of fresh bread. We had the special 2 course meal. The starter was a lovely plate of prosciutto and mozzarella. We waited a little while for the main, which was equally as good, a bowl of seafood tagliatelle with shrimp and octopus. The staff were highly accommodating and very efficient. The restraunt had a nice atmosphere, with comfortable seating. Highly recommended experience!
