Alcudia

Alcúdia is a town in the north of the Spanish island of Mallorca (Majorca). It’s known for its Mediterranean beaches, which include the busy Platja d’Alcúdia and Platja de Muro on the sweeping Alcúdia Bay. The neo-Gothic Sant Jaume church is built into the town’s restored medieval walls. These walls encircle the well-preserved old town, which has narrow streets and centuries-old buildings.

Alcudia Old Town, located on the other side of the island from Palma de Mallorca, is a beautifully preserved medieval town surrounded by stone walls originally built for protection against pirates. This old capital of Majorca offers a strong sense of history with Roman ruins, a Bullring, and charming cobblestone alleys lined with small eateries and boutiques. The 14th-century walls provide stunning views of the town.
We visited Alcudia Old Town on market day and really enjoyed it. There were plenty of stalls spread throughout the charming old streets, offering a wide variety of items – from clothes, bags, and souvenirs to handmade crafts. What stood out this time was the increase in local food options – lots of tasty treats, cheeses, cured meats, and fresh produce to try or take home. It had a great atmosphere without feeling too chaotic, and it’s a nice way to spend a few hours exploring. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!
Paul H — Google review
Beautiful place and easy to get to on public transport. Plenty of places for food, and the quaint little shops are lovely to look around! The walk round the wall was also breath taking, and the view from the top is definitely worth it.
Emily T — Google review
A must visit if you’re in the island of Mallorca, Spain. Walked along the iconic medieval wall for panoramic views, had the most delicious seafood lunch and drove for 10/15 minutes to see the stunning view at la Victoria beach.
Mallika S — Google review
The old town of Alcúdia is absolutely worth a visit! 📸🌴 Narrow streets, historic buildings, and a charming atmosphere make walking around a real highlight. Perfect for strolling, discovering little cafés, and soaking up the Mediterranean vibe 👍
Nick H — Google review
A simply amazing place with lots of culture, great bus access and why not stop off at the port as well. Nice stroll and some cool shops just respect the area and the locals, places like this need protecting!
Reuben L — Google review
Lovely part of town with a gentle stroll through the streets. Good choice of bars, cafes and restaurants and some lovely shops too. Parking can be tricky sometimes but worth a visit.
Stuart H — Google review
Beautiful old town with lots of history. Lots of boutique style shops as well.as the usual tourist shops. Some lovely restaurants too. We also went to.the near by Roman ruins. All.well.worth a day out with something for everyone!
James M — Google review
Stunning little place. Market day is heaving, takes over an hour to get a taxi or on a bus so plan well!! Not much outside of the old town that we found, but hot & had kids with us so didn't venture too far - couple of lovely local clothes shops about 5 mins walk away.

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Hidropark Alcúdia is the only water park in the north of Majorca and a popular attraction for families. Conveniently accessible from Alcudia old town and the city center, as well as from the beach area and Port de Pollenca, it offers over 40,000m2 of water fun with slides, wave pools, spirals, and other exciting attractions suitable for all ages. Visitors can also enjoy a more relaxed experience at Alcanada Golf nearby.
Great park, the family really enjoyed it. Had to pay for your sun loungers but no seats anywhere so had no choice but to pay, was the only negative to the place. Absolutely worth a visit.
John C — Google review
Not bad, some good slides. Kids had done them all in space of 5 minutes which was good not having to queue. However be aware, you have to pay for a sun lounger, they're not included in entry price and you also get hounded by the photographers which really ruin the mood. Worth a visit though.
DEAN B — Google review
Had a great day at the waterpark. Took a 5-year-old and he loved the series of slides for children UNDER 120cm. They go down themselves on rubber rings or mats. We rented 3 sunbeds at additional cost so we had a base / some shade to cool off in. Queues weren't long at all, waited a few minutes tops for slides. Deducted a star as there was a power cut later in the afternoon which meant all the slides stopped, and the card machines weren't working. Would recommend water shoes if you have them, the ground is toasty.
Rowena M — Google review
Situated just next to Club Mac, this water park is super convenient if you're staying nearby. It has plenty of slides and attractions for both kids and adults, so everyone can have fun. We visited in October, and although the water was quite fresh (no heating!), it was still really nice to be able to enjoy the slides and pools at that time of year. The weather was pleasant enough to spend the whole afternoon there. There’s also a restaurant and snack area on site, which makes it easy to grab lunch or a drink between slides. The toilets and general areas were clean and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a great place to spend a relaxing family day, especially if you want to mix some fun water activities with a bit of sunbathing. You can easily walk over from Club Mac, and after a few hours, just head back for dinner, super convenient! Tip: bring your own towels, flip-flops, and maybe a bit of patience if it’s busy, but overall it’s a fun, safe, and family-friendly water park worth visiting.
Desi M — Google review
Very relaxing very good music the slides are unreal and the wave pool is amazing the staff are sooo kind and great for families or thrill people and great for little ones
Charlotte S — Google review
Went with my 13 year old and 4 year old both had plenty for both age groups to keep them entertained. They both thoroughly enjoyed it.
Keighley P — Google review
Good fun. Online tickets are cheaper. Photo service they provide is a rip-off.
R P — Google review
Do not recommend for fall holidays. (October) At a steep price of 84 euros for 1 adult and two children they still charge extra for a chair and even for a locker. It is ridiculously overpriced. You´d expect the water to be heated at this price but no such technology is present. Outside temp 23 degrees C yet the water is freezing cold. Not suitable for small children. Stay away! Spend your cash somewhere else.

Ancient Ruins
Ruines Romanes de Pollentia is an ancient site dating back to around 100 BCE, featuring the remains of a Roman forum, theater, and residential area. Visitors can immerse themselves in the town's rich history by exploring well-preserved medieval walls and the ruins of Pollentia. The old quarter exudes a timeless charm with its narrow cobblestone streets leading to quaint squares, traditional shops, and cozy restaurants offering local cuisine.
The 4 euro ticket together with a small museum north of the site, is more than worth just for the amphitheatre, but there are also 2 village remainings to check out. There is an audio guide and you get a small leaflet with information. Very friendly service.
Marin K — Google review
Absolute bargain at €4 a ticket. Spent about 2 to 3 hours wandering the site and having a picnic. Fantastic way to spend a morning. Ticket includes museum entry. Its only small in comparison to the ruins but still worth a look. Closed during May Day.
Emma J — Google review
Splendid and affordable! You can take a nice walk from the residential area to the forum and then to the theatre. The ruins look marvelous and are sufficiently described in three languages (Spanish, English and Mallorquin/Catalan?). You can find here many benches to take a break and ponder over the ruins. The place is also quite interesting for observing nature. The museum shop, although small, sells some nice items!
Suzanna O — Google review
This is a very unassuming place. Entry was about Eur2.50/person and you think it’s just the ruins you can see! Well, buckle up as you’re on the start of a long walk! Look at the map in the guide. It takes you on a walk down past the first ruins and on to the Forum and finally you make it to the amphitheater. Now walk all the way back up! Along the way are signs in multiple languages so you can follow the story as you go. Loved it!
Adrian S — Google review
Nice walk around Roman ruins wasn’t expensive and plenty of information well worth a visit spent just over an 1 1/2 hours just having a good look around
Neil F — Google review
Very interesting and low-cost attraction if you're in the area and in the mood for some history. Entrance fee was €5 for 2 people. Lots to read about!
Edie — Google review
The ticket is cheap, so it's worth a visit. Antiquity lovers will love it.
Валентин А — Google review
Token €4 charge to enter to jump back in time. Well laid out and the QR codes work easily to give the information that's on the pedestals (useful on a busy day) as once you've scanned one you get taken to a website where all the info is. There must be soooooo much more history yet to be dug up here. If you're taking kids, keep an eye on them some areas aren't very well roped off (I think there's a lot of freedom to move around), some wells aren't capped/covered and are deep. The necropolis is off the concrete path but you can walk right up to the excavation and around it, a bit of respect is required to not walk all over them. Visited on a Scottish day (cloudy and slightly wet) so didn't need a hat or water but can echo what others have said if it is a hot day as there is minimal shade (small wooded area near to the necropolis.)

What an experience! It felt like we were on a wine tasting tour but for ham and cheese! Very high quality products and you should not leave without trying the black labeled Hamon! Definitely coming back again when we’re back in Mallorca!

Majorcan restaurant
Nestled in the historic town of Alcudia, Restaurant Celler Ca'n Costa exudes old-world charm and elegance. Housed in a traditional Mallorcan residence, this family-run establishment has been serving authentic Mallorcan cuisine since 1983. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients to create a menu that showcases the best of the region's flavors.
Thank you to your staff last night for a wonderful meal. This was our first visit to Majorca and we were nervous about bringing our baby out for dinner. You made us all very welcome despite it being a very busy Friday night. The food was all delicious; fresh cod, goats cheese and a gin with lemon and homegrown mint all served by a fantastic and enthusiastic group of staff.
Kristofer S — Google review
Ot the best paella I had. The seafood is definetly frozen and cooked unt super dray so you can’t ge the flesh of the shell anymore. The rice is OK but extremly oily. Our paella has been placed right in front of the toilet, not next the table likr for the other guests. That the paella takes 25 minutes is communicated, fair enough, but to get a second portion of you paella it takes ages as well… Service is very friendly and helpful. I would not visit again for a paella.
Matthias J — Google review
Wow! We visited Alcudia’s oldest restaurant Ca’n Costa on the recommendation from an old school friend of my husband (Nobby). From start to finish the service was fantastic, so friendly & good humoured. We had the shared tapas for 2 people.. every mouthful was a taste sensation. My husband had the filet steak & he’s eaten steak in lots of places! His words.. it was up there with the best he’s had. I had the cod with Mallorca sausage & honey, it was one of the nicest things I’ve ever eaten. Do book to avoid disappointment. Great setting, we sat outside in the beautiful street, perfect for a bit of people watching. Thanks to Juan for making our experience wonderful X
Tracy B — Google review
The staff are what makes this place great. On a busy day, they were able to find me a seat indoors before tapping me on the shoulder to sit me on a street table that was for a no show reservation. Was very well looked after from the staff and the food was excellent. Asked what they recommend and was very pleased with everything. Everyone was smiling and was a very enjoyable experience
Graeme G — Google review
Long time waiting BUT totally worth it!!!!! We have waited 1 hour for table, and then around 45mins for the main dishes, however when you taste it, definitely worth waiting!!!!!! The portion is great and the favor is AMAZING!!!!! 🤩 We ordered the signature lamb shoulder and rabbit, with tomate and prawn salade. You can feel directly it’s slow cooked by house, not touristic pre-cooked food. The house wine is also great choice. The staff is friendly and offered us shots, which is super fresh and amazing also. Everything is just more than satisfaction and out of expectation.
M G — Google review
Had the stuffed calamari and fish of the day. They were super busy and we were lucky to get a table as a walk in. The downside was that in the busyness they forgot to make our order! When it did arrive calamari was great, fish slightly overcooked. None the less, great atmosphere and lovely places.
Luke M — Google review
Absolutely delightful atmosphere, incredible food, very friendly service. Highly recommended. The rabbit with onions and prawns was one of the best meals I've ever had the pleasure of eating.

Pizza restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Alcudia's Old Town, Osteria El Patio is a charming Italian eatery that transports you straight to Italy with its delightful offerings. This beloved restaurant features a traditional menu brimming with classic dishes like pasta, pizza, and succulent meats and fish. The highlight? A hidden garden that provides a serene escape during the bustling summer months. With an inviting covered terrace perfect for al fresco dining, guests can savor their meals while soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of this picturesque area.
Good sangria, not to sweet and not to bland. Very nice paella, big portions so it was enough for two and a child. Lovely people and atmosphere. Will definitely come again next time we’ll visit Mallorca!
Ioana V — Google review
Great Italian restaurant. Pizza very good. Not sure why Amstel on draft - which is the worst lager - and not a decent Spanish one. If need be Cruzcampo which is also owned by Heineken (or better Moretti - but Italian although still better than Dutch on a Spanish island) 🍺🍺🍺
Stephan P — Google review
The setting is lovely and the service efficient , the pizza is great bit needs a bit more because it was a nit soggy . The food is above average but the menu could have more protien options . The ambiance is a winning combination especially if you sit outside . The waiters were swamped and it didn’t help when my daughter asked for ketchup 😂.
Just L — Google review
Very friendly staff, fair prices, and authentic Italian cuisine make Osteria El Patio a great choice. The pasta served in a pizza bread bowl was an absolute highlight. The covered terrace in the courtyard provided a wonderfully pleasant atmosphere, even on a rainy day.
Daniel ( — Google review
We ordered the mortadella pizza and linguine vongole and it was amazing. Both dishes was just what we hoped for and better. The service was really good and the location is perfect. Good wine and home made desserts made the experience even better.
Oda S — Google review
This is an authentic Italian restaurant in Alcudia old town. I tried their focaccia and classic pizzas and they were pretty good though there could’ve been a bit more cheese on the margherita. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or a relaxed dinner, this is the place to go in Alcudia for genuine Italian flavor. Prices are fair. One tip: make a reservation. For some reason, they’re often fully booked (even on weekdays, at odd hours, and during the off-season). I still haven’t figured out why, but it tells you something.
Alperen T — Google review
They serve amazing pasta here, and the pizza is just perfect, with the right dough and real Italian toppings. Everything we tried here was incredibly delicious!
Ekaterina M — Google review
I really didn't like the service and atmosphere at this place. The waiters took our order and went off laughing happily among themselves. Twenty minutes passed, and it turned out that they had simply forgotten about it and hadn't passed it on. They brought me tiramisu with a piece of plastic in it, quite sharp, thank God it didn't go to a child. When the people at the next table left, the same two waiters stood there and laughed at them, it was just disgusting!

Tapas restaurant
Located in the old town of Puerto Alcudia, Ca'n Punyetes is a popular restaurant offering a wide variety of high-quality tapas and dishes. The cozy and authentic atmosphere makes it a favorite among both locals and tourists seeking an authentic Mallorcan culinary experience. Specializing in homemade tapas featuring fresh locally sourced seafood and shellfish, this bustling eatery provides a rustic setting with outdoor tables on a pedestrian street.
Our favourite spot in Alcudia. We ate here one night and got hooked! Every tapas dish we tried was delicious.... especially the prawns in garlic sauce. We ended up coming back here on 3 further occasions during our holiday, and the experience was just as lovely every time. Great food & service at a fair price and set in a quiet side street it has a nice vibe. Definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area and are looking for tasty tapas! (We ordered 5 of the 1/2 size dishes for 2 people, and that was plenty).
Stuart B — Google review
This was our favourite meal of the whole trip! The waiter suggested that you only need two full portions and two half portions so we had a full portion of patatas bravas, a full portion of garlic prawns, half a portion of ham coquettes and half a portion of Spanish sausage. It definitely felt enough food for us and it was absolutely delicious. The dessert was really good too. We visited in mid-September and they were quite busy so it would probably be recommended that you reserve a table or wait till later in the evening to eat. We ended up having to wait for a table at 9 pm which wasn't a problem.
Sophie W — Google review
Amazing, authentic Spanish tapas ! One of the best meals I had in Alcudia ⭐️ the food was fresh and local. I had amazing chicken croquettes, super fresh salads/veggies and what cannot be seen on pictures (ate too fast to take a picture) the most delicious octopus ! The service was incredible as well. Would highly recommend white sangria and octopus cooked and seasoned to perfection. 🙌
Martyna N — Google review
If you’re looking for some of the best tapas in Mallorca, this is the place to be! Ca’n Punyetes serves incredibly fresh and flavorful seafood, cooked to perfection. We especially loved the garlic prawns — a must-try dish! They welcome you with complimentary olives that are so tasty you’ll want to ask for more. The staff is friendly and super quick, and the dishes arrive in no time. Everything about this place — from the food to the service — makes it a true tapas gem. Don’t miss it! 🦐🍷✨
Deepak K — Google review
Wonderfully atmospheric take on authentic Spanish tapas. The best choice in Alcudia for such dishes. Local food prepared simply. The service is outstanding and attentive despite how busy the restaurant is. Reservations recommended.
Diarmuid H — Google review
Oily food.. the octopus was very bad, the French fries were very oily. In addition, the full portion of octopus was equal to 1/2 portion. Pork Fillet was ok, but oily. Sangria was good!
Mihai M — Google review
The problem with this part of the island is that there aren't many local restaurants. Usually, the ones serve pizza, pasta, hamburgers, or overprocessed paella. However, this one has proved us wrong and is the only authentic Spanish restaurant around this neighborhood. We had ensalada de casa, salpicon de pulpo y gambas, sepia con miel, navajas a la plancha, habas fritas con jamón, huevas de merzuela y crema catalana. All were amazing and perfect. If we had 10 days on this island, we would definitely come here to have dinner 10 times. Highly recommended.

Basico Gastrobar is a top restaurant in the Alcudia old town, offering fresh seafood, meat and vegetable dishes, and tapas made from high-quality local ingredients. Situated in the heart of the historic old town, it provides both indoor and outdoor seating on the main street. It's a popular spot for visitors embarking on the Gourmet Tapas and Wine Tasting Tour in Alcudia.
The tapas were very tasty. The waitress kindly pointed out to us that one of the tapas portions we wanted was slightly larger and recommended that we order one portion less. She also told us which tapas she would leave out, as these are available in comparatively many restaurants. We followed their recommendation and were absolutely satisfied. The tapas are not cheap, but they are high quality and delicious. We preferred this restaurant to others nearby because of the much better Google rating, even though all the tables outside were still empty at the time. The service was also very nice.
Paul A — Google review
A very pleasant place with friendly staff who speak several languages. The menu and wine list were short, which could indicate that the dishes were refined, so not quantity, but quality. And so it was. The dishes were very good.

Perfect 5 stars. Ordered the mushroom tortellini which was absolutely fabulous, better than a lot of pasta I’ve had in Italy, maybe some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. Black rice paella was also great. The garlic prawns starter is a must but i can’t stop talking about how heavenly that tortellini was. Great service too with friendly waitress’s and waiters, food came out quickly and fresh. All local and homemade too.

Had the most delicious black rice paella in all of Spain here. Tuna salad was fresh and tasty as well! Portions were huge and more than enough for an averagely sized Asian couple.

Fantastic lunch at this charming bistro. We chose it because of its good reviews and the lovely courtyard at the back. Service was great and the food was fantastic. A mix of traditional Spanish and European all cooked brilliantly. We had tapas and the kids had pasta and a burger. Everyone delighted with what they had. Would thoroughly recommend 👍🏼

The service was absolutely amazing! The staff were warm, attentive, and made the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish. The paella was outstanding – perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and easily one of the best I’ve had. Everything came together to create a truly memorable meal. Highly recommend!

One of the best restaurants in Mallorca to taste traditional cuisine and great meat. A special mention to the waitress Julia who recommended us amazing dishes to eat like a local. Do not miss the Iberico hamburger and the Frito a la marisco. Extremely high quality for the price (around 30€ per person). Modern restaurant with a super central location.

The restaurant specializes in fresh seafood and offers an impressive selection of fine wines. Originally a tapas bar, it has evolved into a trendy eatery with a weekly menu featuring fish and seafood from the Bay of Alcudia, local happy meat, raw food options, and sushi. Guests rave about the delicious dishes and excellent service provided by the friendly staff.
One of the best dining experiences in Alcúdia! Still thinking about the food days after our meal. We ate in for dinner during our holiday. The food was absolutely delicious. We had tried to walk in on the first night but the restaurant was completely full so we made a reservation and we were all so happy we did. The service was wonderful, the cava was the best I've ever had. Every single dish we had was so tasty. It was a little bit pricey but absolutely worth it. We had a few different tapas, all delicious. The Majorcan sausage hot dog was my favourite. The vegetarian tom ka curry was gorgeous.

Ceviçe, tomato salad, local fish, octopus, chocolate beer cake, crema catalana, wine! Staff super kind, helpfull and looking after all the time! ❤️❤️❤️

One of the more expensive places to eat in Alcudia - but also a higher level cuisine. Great Mallorcan wine - would definitely go there again !
