Scenic spot
Pikkerbakken, a stunning viewing platform in Frederikshavn, offers an unparalleled panoramic view of the city, harbor, and Hirsholmene. This 71-meter-high platform is part of a 3-km coastal cliff shaped by the Ice Age and provides clear views of Saeby, Skagen, and even Laeso on a clear day.
Nice viewing platform, nice forest tracks close by. You can go for a nice walk and also tables for picnic. Little rocky road to get there but it was managable. Not many parking spaces, most probably will be crowded in summer season.

Great view point!

A breathtaking view. The road to this view spot Leads through forest and is no asphalt, so not recommended for low cars. I was there with a Passat and it was no problem. Even if you have to stop before and walk the rest, it is definitely worth it. We were there at night (see the picture) and we were the only people there, it was so quite, almost magical. If you are in Frederikshavn, this is a must-visit.
Ole U — Google review
Great view over Frederikshavn, the way to the top was very exhausting by bike, but still worth it.

I love the new addition of the airwalk. I was there 4 y ago and it only had a ledge. Great view.

Bangsbo Fort, situated on a hilltop plateau in Frederikshavn, Denmark, offers a fascinating journey through military history. Originally constructed by the Germans during World War II to safeguard their supply routes to Norway, the fort is now home to canons and rich historical exhibits. Visitors can explore bunkers and learn about the fort's role during different periods, including its use as a control center in the Cold War era.
Very very nice place, Many Bunkers and a cool ship!, Just try not to wander into Military territory, Also the MP May be watching you most of the time (MP Meaning Military Police,) Due to it being right besides a Military base. Suggestion to owners: Would it be possible to start a GoFundMe Page or something for the Lapperdykkeren, I really love her, And its sad to see her in this state, I think Not only me, But many others would be willing to donate so she can be put into a safer condition, Or maybe even restored.
Bastian C — Google review
Bangsbo Fort is located on a hilltop plateau on the southern outskirts of Frederikshavn, and the vantage point 82 metres above sea level provides a remarkable view out over Frederikshavn and the waters of the Kattegat. On clear days, the it is possible to see all the way to both Skagen and Læsø.
Leandro S — Google review
My second visit here and ever bit as cool as my first. I wish I could donate a million $ to help them restore the bunkers .

Very nice former nazi military base in denmark 卐🇩🇰
Abel A — Google review
One of the most coolest places in Denmark I've been watching at bunkers and also in one of the bunkers you get too hear how is was to be questioned by the Danish gestspo during the 2. World War, "that's a very though challenge to get through" so if you are strong mentally you should go for it and it is not for everyvody. My experience was very scary. But you also get a lot of information about how they used the area. So I totally recommend it to anyone is interested in both photography and history.
Benjamin C — Google review
Definitely worth a visit! :)
Andrea K — Google review
Military history at its best! South of Frederikshavn is the 80 meter high hill Pikkerbakken where the German Kriegsmarine had a group of bunkers built during WWII to protect the harbor. In 1944 the bunkers were armed with Krupp cannons from the Danish artillery ship Niels Juel. After the Danish Navy took over the facilities at the end of WWII, Bangsbo Fort became an important control center during the heyday of the Cold War (1952-1962). The Danish navy still controls shipping traffic in the Kattegat and Skagerak from this hill. Since 2005, the part of the hill with the old bunkers has been open to the public, the cannons have been restored and the Kystmuseet opened its doors. And that is only to be welcomed, because the museum and bunkers are absolutely worth a visit!

(Translated by Google) Cool historical place with very nice staff on site. The powder tower is relatively small but offers an exciting history. On the 1st floor there was a little history on posters. On the 2nd floor there were cannons and bullets to see. NOTE! It was a very steep staircase/ladder to get up. Good price, cost 30DKK when we visited and the children went in for free. Time required approx. Tidsåtgång c.a 30-60min

If you travel with kids, this is the perfect place to kill a few hours before the ferry leaves. The only thing missing was food. If they had something more substantial then a snack bar, we would have stayed longer and eaten there as well.

Very clean compared to many other places. You can also bring your own food. I know it looks empty, but I took photos as we left because of GDPR. Price was 130kr for kids and 60 for people above 18

Awesome place. Especially if it's handball world championships. Strongly recommend!!!

Well desiged facility for many different in-door activities such as sports tournaments, festivals, and exhibitons. We visited there for a brew festival which was full of many stands and beer lovers. Organization was good enough to enjoy the evening. There were plenty of stores to eat and drink. The wardrobe empleyees should be more careful about the customers when they ask for their coats temporarily just to smoke outside.

Fiskebaren Café og Spisehus is a recently renovated restaurant offering a great selection of fish dishes, from soups to platters. They have a special social dining course for groups, featuring both warm and cold platters with mini falling star and fried fish on the warm side, and fish gratin and salmon mousse on the cold side. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed, with attentive staff making sure the food tastes good.
The food was great, I really loved the stjerneskud! The waitress elevated the visit, it really shows that she cares for this great place. We sat in the new sofa in the back, and were welcomed even though we had tons of luggage. Wonderful atmosphere, we will make it a ritual to come here every time before we go home to Sweden by ferry.

Very nice two course meal. The first course was peeled prawns, a tasty herb sauce, and a house made prawn egg roll with blood orange pearls for a fresh, bright kick. The second course was a classic salmon filet with asparagus, hollandaise, potatoes, and a salad. Each part was perfect. The salmon was incredibly freash and just barely cooked but still with a crispy skin. The hollandaise tasted like it was made in-house and so nicely buttery! The mixed greens salad had a nice dressing and toasted, chopped almonds. The waiter was pleasant and attentive. He suggested a very nice french white wine blend to pair with the dishes. Overall, a very nice experience. I'm sure I will visit again.

A nice restaurant with good food but one thing made our stay less pleasant here. When we informed about our allergy, the treatment from the staff changed, even though it is a common allergy and we did not ask for any major things. After we received our food, no one from the staff spoke to us until we went to pay. Bad and considering that the customer at the table next to us received an extremely high amount of attention, this felt even worse to us. Food allergies are common and can be dangerous and most restaurants appreciate that customers inform about this. Should not be the first time a customer with an allergy visits the restaurant.

(Translated by Google) In a beautifully restored old warehouse, the surroundings are served on a silver platter. I am surprised that it has subsequently been decorated as a 1998 version of Jensen's Bøfhus. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. However, I'm a little unsure whether one didn't understand what I said or just forgot half of it on the way from the table to the kitchen. However, he was very well compensated by his colleagues who were very attentive. The food was nothing to write home about. However, we got a delicious salmon tartar which was unfortunately followed by crunchy gnocci. They were toasted, so you can plead for them to have a little crispiness on the outside. But they also had that inside… It makes sense that there was drawing paper and chalk for the children.

The sun was out and despite many people walking the street, this place is perfectly secluded so you can enjoy your meal in peace. A place I will visit again soon.

This charming eatery focuses on creating exquisite taste experiences using local and seasonal ingredients, ensuring that every meal reflects freshness and quality. As the seasons change, so does their menu, offering everything from individual dishes during their 'Det go mad' evenings to a fully vegetable-based feast on 'Grøn onsdag.'

We were Frederikshavn for the Cup 1 Soccer Tournament and had had a fair number of reasonable meals with familiar food for the kids (chicken, pizza, burgers, etc.). On our second to last night, 3 of us soccer moms found Saeson on google and because of the reviews, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is tucked in on a side street/alley of Dansmarksgade. We didn't have reservations but the staff was very gracious to seat us. Thereafter all I can say is it was one of the most incredible six course tastings and pairings meals we've ever had.and that we will not soon forget. Thank you!!
