Very informative displays, with bilingual descriptions. I was smitten with the culture of Karelia when I arrived in Petrozavodsk, but this museum helped me learn more about the rich and long-standing culture.

It is a great museum where you can find everything related to Karelian culture. We spent around two and a half hours there and learned a lot about Karelian culture, from their lifestyle to traditions. Very informative place. If you visit Petrozavodsk, you should visit there. Highly recommended!

(Translated by Google) An ordinary museum. There are many exhibits and they are interesting, but the presentation of information needs to be worked on! In each room, you have to read the canvases of text written in small print (sometimes the signs with the font are on the wall behind the glass, try to read it). The inscriptions on the glass are half-erased, again - they are difficult to read, especially if the font is black against the background of a black exhibit. (attached a photo) Some exhibits have no numbers at all, figure out what is what as you want 🤷🏻‍♀️There is nothing interactive either.

The costumes and sets are always top notch. The only thing that confuses me is the monophonic, often delayed translation into headphones during performances in Finnish. This is terribly distracting, stressful and does not help at all to plunge into the atmosphere of the action. (Original) Обожаю этот театр! Посетила множество спектаклей, некоторые по 5-6 раз!!! The Marine Historical and Cultural Center 'Polar Odyssey' offers an interesting and educational experience despite some funding challenges. Visitors can expect detailed storytelling with photographs and exhibits, allowing them to touch everything and explore freely. The museum's appearance may leave something to be desired, but the stories of the guides and the impressive ships both inside and outside make a lasting impression. Despite difficulties in finding the center, visitors are welcomed by cheerful staff who share captivating tales of maritime adventures from around the world.
Well! What a strange yet wonderful place. I arrived via the back entrance after following google maps - I wandered through some mariners back yards then found the museum amongst the wooden buildings and boats. There I was greeted by a cheerful man who welcomed me into a group of Russian visitors. Despite my lack of Russian, he asked where I was from and proceeded to tell me of the places he must've sailed to in England, Bristol and Poole among others. I was then taken to a video room where I was met by another joyful character who did his best to translate his speech to English and sometimes used the other guests as assistants if he didn't know the words in English. After a tough year of living and travelling around Russia as I couldn't go home (people thought I was a covid threat) here, however, I was treat as an esteemed guest. I was overjoyed at the effort they all made to include me in the different exhibitions and to impart the knowledge of the sea voyages this group of sailors had experienced. I had a lovely time. I encourage any visitor to Petrazavodsk to go find out about the adventures of this devoted group of people.

Had Birthday party at this restaurant. Called administrators to organize the party several days in a row. Finally, Oksana rejected the idea to have a cooking class or rent the whole room for it. We were told that it was reserved for some wedding. When we came in to the restaurant to dine out with guests, it was no wedding in the room. The server was nice, however, he didn’t suggest anything special, and we had ask him to bring everything. No special vibe at the restaurant, just a great location near the lake. Regarding the food, it was mediocre and served at cold temperature. Mussels were not fresh and platter seemed empty for the price. Very bad service in this restaurant. I spent 30 minutes just waiting for a waiter and food was average. I’m upset with quality in here

As you wrap up your adventures in the enchanting land of a thousand lakes, make sure to indulge in a delightful dinner at The Kukhnya. This charming restaurant stands out with its innovative culinary creations and warm Karelian hospitality. Visitors have praised the inviting atmosphere, where friendly staff serve delicious dishes made from fresh local ingredients, including delectable fish and meat options. The cozy interior is complemented by soothing music, creating an ideal setting for relaxation.
Great cuisine, good coffee. Having in mind that that Petrozavodsk has access to fresh fish, nothing amazing that the the fish we ate was tasty (as well as meat, I have to say). What else? Nice interior. And guys let our Labrador to come with us. I really appreciate the last but it didn't affect my appraisal.

Expecting more, food was kind of disappointing. Anyway atmosphere was good and service was good.

The food was delivered 1 hour later, separately in time frame for 2 people. We were on the second floor. Ignorance of servers amazed us - it took us over an hour to pay the bill with cash. Servers were not motivated and didn’t want to work. Young girls - servers turned around and avoided the contact with any customers purposely. Won’t return to this place anymore.

Cozy place. They have an English menu, which is a very good thing for foreigners.

My family and I visited the Кухня in summer 2019' It was unusual experience in the world of bistros and restaurants. This place is unique. Why? Because the atmosphere is comfortable, waitresses are polite and the food is very tasty. The service 10/10. I am studying in Moscow and sometimes visit St. Petersburg. I can say that during my last 3 years I didn't meet such a perfect place to eat and spend time. I wish the Кухня to open in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

If you're wandering through Petrozavodsk and looking for a budget-friendly dining option, Dezhavyu is definitely worth a visit. This cozy café offers a variety of traditional dishes at prices that won't break the bank, making it an ideal spot for those late-night cravings since it's open until 2 a.m. The menu features delightful options like beef stroganoff and mushroom julienne, all prepared with care.
We tried beef stroganoff, mushroom julienne and a type of fish, all were tasty. staff could not speak English well but did their job well

It's not one of the best places, but it's "good enough". Dezhavyu is where you go to have very cheap meals of decent quality. Especially given the open hours - (by the time this is written) up till 2 a.m. in the night.

The worst service ever. Waited for 20 min for the server to show up. She moved us for the smaller table and waited for 50 min for the other server to show up in the empty restaurant. The cold and burnt meal came in after 30 min after the order. We ordered lots of food. Everything looked and tasted horrible, including wine. We waited for the server to show up with the check but she went home and didn’t tell us. We went to the server to cash out. Would never recommend this location. Worst place ever.
