The Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Bosco e San Michele in Cuneo is a stunning example of Baroque architecture at its finest. From the moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by the intricate detailing so typical of the era – lavish stucco work, sweeping arches, ornate columns, and gilded accents that catch the light in the most enchanting way. Every corner feels like a carefully composed work of art, from the elaborate altars to the delicate ceiling frescoes that draw your eyes upward in awe. It’s an absolute delight to wander through, soaking up the craftsmanship and history that radiate from every surface. If you’re in Cuneo, this is without a doubt a must-see – the kind of place that leaves you feeling both inspired and humbled.

A wonderful Cathedral located at the center of Cuneo, worth a visit.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful cathedral. The façade remained closed between new buildings in 1832. The difficulties of connecting it with the nearby buildings and safeguarding the path of the porticoes were overcome in 1863 - 1866 with the project of Antonio Bono, with four large fluted columns supporting the tympanum with the dedication. In the dome Giuseppe Toselli, a painter from Peveragno, in 1834 represented the Assumption of the Virgin and the participation of the patrons of Cuneo: Saint Michael, Saint John the Baptist and the blessed Angelo Carletti. Le difficoltà di raccordarla con i vicini palazzi e di salvaguardare il percorso dei portici vennero superate nel 1863 – 1866 con il progetto di Antonio Bono, con quattro grandi colonne scanalate sorreggenti il timpano con la dedica. The episcopal seat of the Cuneo-Fossano diocese, it has been a national monument since 1940. A beautiful cathedral, it is well worth a visit; the façade was obscured by new buildings in 1832. The Cathedral was a lively parish in the heart of the city, as evidenced by the presence of 14 altars mentioned in the pastoral visit of 1583. On Christmas Eve 1656, the vault of the church collapsed. Reconstruction was carried out according to a design by architect and painter Giovenale Boetto. The last significant project was the creation of the crypt for the burials of the bishops, which took place in 1968. (Translated by Google) The monumental complex of San Francesco is located in Cuneo and includes the former convent with the cloister and the adjoining former church. It has been classified as a national monument and a rare architectural example of the medieval era in the city. The convent of the Franciscan friars with the pictorial cycles preserved inside the church and the decorative fragments present in the cloister and in the former convent space constitute an important testimony to the most ancient history of the entire city. However, the oldest frescoes were located along the perimeter of the fourteenth-century cloister and were discovered in the 1980s, during the first restoration works on the complex. Partially hidden by a wall is a beautiful painting of Saint Christopher, but the best-known image is certainly the Madonna and Child with Saints Francis and Elizabeth and donors, today displayed in the entrance rooms to the collections. The current cloister dates back to the seventeenth century and features frescoed lunettes with the stories of the saint to whom the church is dedicated. If you visit Cuneo the whole complex is worth seeing.

Pasticceria Arione is a beloved cafe that many visitors frequent whenever they return to this area. With its charming old-fashioned atmosphere, it offers a unique setup, featuring a cafe at the back and a pastry and sweets shop at the front. It remains an excellent place to relax and take a break from the day's activities. This is a favourite café we like going to whenever we come back here for a visit. It's an old style café at the back with a pastry and sweets shop at the front. It is still a great place to take a break from your day. Don't be surprised if you see a dog quietly snoozing under the table while his owner enjoys his espresso with friends. Dogs are generally allowed in Cafés in Europe.

good pasta, but the restaurant is on the App "Fork" which the purpose is to have discount, we booked the restaurant with the app to have the 50% discount and at the end they did not gave it. they said it is because they are not obliged to, which looks like a scam because if you put your restaurant in an App for discount then authorised the discount.

I had dinner there last week and first my secondo was delivered and only 10 minutes later my antipasto. Then, half of the table had already fully finished eating, whilst the other half had just received their dinner. The beef fillet I had, had a weird taste and later in the evening and the entire day after I felt sick from it. Please avoid this restaurant.

We waited almost 30 minutes and we asked someone to order for us, the answer was always wait wait wait again. Then it took another half an hour for our spaghetti. Also, they poured half of the glass of wine for us to taste, such unprofessional, there was a moment that I was actually wondering if we are in Italy.

So, me and my wife while we were sightseeing the town of the Cuneo , we chose to go for a dinner at 19:30 pm to this place , the waiter let us in and gave us a table right next to the bar after my wife asking him can we go to another table and he said “NO” (what a rude service ) anyway we were hungry and tired didn’t wanted to keep searching for another restaurant to go eat .. Anyways we set down , my wife ordered a chicken plate with some vegetables and I ordered mix fish plate. Man the chicken was not cooked at all ! The fishes was smelling horrible not fresh at all..! Senza Fretta Osteria con Camere is a charming spot where visitors can savor traditional Piemontese cuisine in a cozy and intimate setting. The dim lighting adds to the ambiance, making it an ideal place for a memorable dining experience. Guests have praised the locally produced wine, homemade bread, and well-curated menu. Additionally, the staff has been commended for their friendliness and accommodating nature towards dietary restrictions.
Me & my husband we enjoyed the food, wine and the beautiful setting #A taste you'll remember😊
ML G — Google review
Another spontaneous finding in Cuneo. We were really nice welcomed by personnel and get a table even without booking. The inner yard is a beautiful place and you can feel yourself 100% in Italy. Sends Fretta is not just a name, looks like it’s a slogan 😅 as we waited really a lot before we get our order, that was actually a minus. Food was well cooked, however in my opinion the portion is less that expected, I’d like to have bigger portion for the price. My fish was delicious, but too much rosemary was used and it drown the other tastes: fish, sauce. Overall, we spend nice time, but personally I will not visit this place for the second time.
Artem T — Google review
The only plus of this place is that it works at a time when normal places with tasty food are closed. In general, it should be said that the staff is not trained to properly treat tourists, none of them speak English, and we are not required to learn Italian in order to dine in this place. I ordered risotto for myself and I must say that it was an oversolted risotto with some strange cheese in the form of melted snot. In my opinion, if you don’t know how to cook - better not to do it. Moreover, they sat us in the backyard, it felt like we were sitting in a basement - it was damp and very cold, despite the fact that there were many free seats in the restaurant. The service of dishes took a long time, the toilet was dirty. I cannot recommend this place. And judging by the rudeness of the manager of this place, dear, do not bother to answer my review. All the best to you.

If I had only one word to say it will be- wow! What a great find in a non impressive area. The friendliest staff (Chiara, Matteo and the rest)., unbelievably tasty food, nice atmosphere (although I prefer Italian music to jazz…). The vegetarian anti-pasta, gnocchi, ravioli, Veggie and dolce della nonna were just perfect. Cannot wait to return tomorrow!!! Wednesday: went again tonight- still perfect: the atmosphere, the food, Matthew and Chiara. In brief- DO NOT MISS THIS RESTAURANT!!!
Eitan K — Google review
I stayed for one night in one of the rooms on the first floor, facing the inner courtyard. The location is good, right in the (not overly exciting) city center. On the upside, the room was clean and the amenities mentioned in the description on booking.com were all available (kettle, tea, coffee, A/C,..). It's not super spacious, however, and what I found somewhat annoying was that the balcony is situated right above the terrace of a neighboring restaurant, so do not expect any calm in the evening. There is no view, it is actually obstructed by the shabby back wall of another building (see picture). Another downside is the check-in procedure and time: check-in is possible only between 6 and 10 pm, which is way too late. I arrived at the site soaking wet from a hike and had to wait for more than two hours before I could get into my room. Luggage can be dropped there before 6 pm but only after a kitchen aid that had to be called by the owner (who was not on site) opened the door. But there is no lobby or anything where you could wait, the luggage is locked in and you have to leave again and return at 6. Booking.com announced the offer "with breakfast", which is in reality a little joke, as there is no breakfast area or anything but you just receive a voucher for one croissant and a coffee in a neighboring café, which is pretty ridiculous, knowing the comparably rich breakfast buffets in similarly priced Italian hotels. All in all a pretty disappointing experience and definitely not worth 100 euros. Would not book it again.

We had a dinner at this place. Nice atmosphere, really quick service, but the food left a mixed feelings. Lasagna requires changing as it’s more pasta than lasagna. A bit dry Tiramisu. The place is just fine, I do not have any serious complaints, but fail to mark anything special.

Great place in Cuneo to have fantastic food like Battuta di Fassone, Vitello Tonnato etc., all Piemonte specialities. Definitely a restaurant to go and cone back. Ah and the prices very good!

Summary: servers had brilliant English, wonderful food, a real community Ferrell and surprisingly good prices. Details: my partner and I drove into Cuneo at 8:30pm needing somewhere to eat so we found this place on Google Maps due to good reviews. Despite not having a reservation, they seated us outside with a little shuffling around. There are breadsticks and small baguettes in the table as an appetiser, along with oil for dipping. This was free. It started to rain, and despite not being covered, all of the workers brought out pop-up gazebos and worked like a well oiled machine to get them up and over the customers that were exposed. We had the selection of starters, and two pasta primi dishes- I recommend the cheese gnocchi and the tomato pasta with courgettes! Just before leaving, we were offered some limoncello for free, then some shots for the road!! There is free street parking, but it’s very full. A wonderful place to eat and relax in Piedmont.
