Nice villa, small park with white entrance way. There is "sound garden" which is just a place bordered with weird stone balls. Villa is not accessible, you can visit just the park for free. They organize a weddings celebration or any events as concerts there. But a lot of mosquitoes are in this area..

It's a Nice historic place with great view and easy to find. Here there are always a lot of food exhibitions and live music performance . Great place to visit only for the great ancient garden in the back of the architectonic complex.

The residence, built in 1822 based on a design by Giuseppe Lazzarini, represents a unique example of an aristocratic villa in the context of Viareggio. Its history, linked to the Bonaparte family and the subsequent ownership of Carolina Murat, gives the villa an extraordinary historical and cultural importance. (Translated by Google) There is a lot to be said about Villa Paolina both about the past and the present. Today we see it between Piazza Shelley and Macchiavelli corner, at the time that Maria Paola di Buonaparte wanted it, known to all as Paolina, Napoleon's sister, it was on the sea... right in the area where the body was found on 8 July 1822, now examine, by the Poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. The Villa was called "Venus' refuge" and was actually a place of retreat for Paolina after the death of her brother Napoleon and who found refuge to live with Giovanni Pacini, the man she loved. Furthermore, the Villa was a place of culture as the Princess loved to be surrounded by artists and musicians. Today, after many vicissitudes, it is the place where the civic museums of Viareggio have found space, starting from the Archaeological Museum (educational) which collects local finds dating back to prehistory; the Museum of Musical Instruments; a part of the art gallery and spaces dedicated to exhibitions, entitled "Approdi", such as the one on Giovanni Lazzarini, an artist from Viareggio known as Menghino, of undoubted interest.

So disappointed. Looks great, taste so under average! The scampi even aren't fresh, like being preserved for many days in refrig then taken out defrozen... The only thing tastes good is pineapple on top! and this costs 35⍷. NOT recommend by me.

Turned us away saying it was closed even though they had just sat down two tables which were still eating the bread with olive oil. We had two young kids in our group. Good thing they had a doner place down the street so that we didn’t starve.

Not worth the absurd high prices. Food and service were somewhat oke. The prices however, were borderline absurd. 30 EUR for a seconding of a few shrimps without any sides. 7 EUR for a simple mixed salad as a side dish. 5 EUR pp copernico for old and dry bread. Not worth it. Go somewhere else.

The (sea)food and fish were excellent. Unfortunately, probably due to the very busy summer period, service was lacking efficiency but nothing to wipe out the positive feeling about the place.

Service terrible. Waited 40 minutes for waiter to come to our table when we first arrived. Food was quite poor and expensive. Felt like waiter was constantly rushing and starters didn't have proper descriptions next to them e.g. one specified warm/cooked fish and contained raw fish.

Dined here last night ( Tuesday June 7th 19:30 reservation). Food was fresh and good. Service , though , was appalling , specifically from one waiter, a slightly older man. He lacked in all areas of hospitality. No welcome, no explanation of the menu or no mentions of specials, no wine menu. Once we ordered our wine he did not pour for a taste , nor did he open it. The main courses were literally thrown on the table. Sadly , It is because of this waiter, I must give this restaurant a single star. Service is a huge part of the dining experience and this experience was beyond disappointing.

Il Porto is an elegant marina restaurant located in a town that was originally a 12th-century fishing village and has now become an important port. The area is renowned for its shipbuilding skills and the building of prestigious superyachts. The restaurant offers a unique view over the harbor with many yachts, providing seafood dishes curated like culinary art. It's known for its sincere and familiar atmosphere, making it suitable for groups and accommodating food sensitivities.

Spacious restaurant on the dock that is appropriate for groups. Hey can easily handle food sensitivities. Good service and food. We ordered the fish of the day for 4 people in our party. The portion sizes were smaller than expected. The gazpacho is memorable. We didn't order dessert but they ended with a nice selection of bite sized sweeets. Personal favorite was the passion fruit macaroons.

It was a lovely restaurant situated just in front of the marina, and definitely nice to have a table upstairs with a view of the water and the yachts. However, they tried to give us a table in their less attractive verandah (with this harsh lighting) which we refused, and were then seated inside the main hall though in a corner a bit far from the nice views - and exposed to second hand smoke because they allowed smokers to smoke in the verandah next to us. I think many of the nice tables were for couples or 3 pax. And we were 4. However, the service was friendly and efficient and the food really very good. We came here for the seafood dishes and every one of them was nicely executed and presented. They also had fresh porcini options (it’s the beginning of the season), which we would have been tempted to try if not for the fact that we really came to have seafood. A good address.

We were very late for our reservation due to an accident on the autostrada. The service was gracious, kind and prompt. I own and am Chef of a fish restaurant on Lake Michigan in Indiana Dunes in the USA 🇺🇸 (Fish Camp) and I can attest that everything was fresh and perfect.

I had dinner at this beautiful restaurant with a group of friends. From the terrace we enjoyed a wonderful view from our table on the Port of Viareggio. The restaurant is very welcoming with large and spacious rooms, the terrace overlooking the port is remarkable, furnished with taste and personality. A menu that offers almost all dishes based on fresh fish of excellent quality. The service is very professional, the wine list is excellent and the owner is fantastic. Everything I tasted was amazing and really well executed. I certainly recommend it.

If you're on the hunt for an exceptional dining experience in Viareggio, look no further than Ristorante da Romano. This esteemed establishment has been delighting patrons since 1966 with its elegant white-tablecloth setting and a menu that showcases the best of traditional Tuscan cuisine infused with innovative flair. The restaurant is renowned for its exquisite seafood offerings, including fresh oysters, delectable seafood pasta, and their signature stuffed squid.
My boyfriend and I had date night here and were absolutely blown away by the classic degustazion menu. Every single dish was beautifully presented and delicious. The food was clearly the freshest it good be. The service was top notch, with all of the waiters paying attention to our every move without making us feel overwhelmed. One of my favorite restaurants ever. Everything is incredibly well done, food, service, location, wine list, everything! Plates are very innovative and creative, new and modern versions of traditional tastes and original recipes. The plating is incredible, super well done. All the staff have a way of taking care of guests that is always attentive but never invasive. The wine list is absolutely stunning. The fact that they have maintained a Michelin star since 1985 is per se a sign of the cure and the professional level that this place offers. One of the best restaurant I visited in a long time

A iconic address in Versiglia. Romano family has been running this place forever. The chef used to be the wife of the owner. Now, they've a young talented chef bringing new ideas and keeping the traditional dishes that made the success of this place. The fish is really very well prepared and the quality is excellent. The personnel is super welcoming.

An old friend we revisited after a 10 year absence. The food remains of a very high Michelin star quality, served in a formal but friendly style. The stuffed baby squid is spectacular! Great flight of wines too.

Amazing Michelin-starred restaurant near Forte Dei Marmi. This is a truly special place that offers a real gourmet experience. Even though it has one Michelin star, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming — no snobbery at all. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The food is not only delicious but also generous in portion size, which is rare for a Michelin spot. The highlight for me was the Panzella salad with mackerel instead of bread crumbs — full of flavor . Beautifully balanced risotto with red prawns and lemon touch ,which was simply unforgettable. Stuffed calamari made my kids thrilled .Tables are spaced out well, so you don’t feel crowded, and street parking nearby is usually possible. Highly recommended for a special occasion or just when you want to treat yourself to something truly exceptional.

Today I finally had the chance to eat at one of the most renown Michelin starred restaurants in Viareggio: Da Romano, and I truly had an outstanding experience. The ambiance was intimate but sophisticated with great attention to details. My lunch started with The sea amberjack escalope that had a such a fresh and cool taste that felt like it had just come out of The Mediterranean Sea. The anchovy stuffed zucchini blossom were quite a pleasant surprise, but my favorite was for sure the small squids stuffed with assorted vegetables and crustaceans. I didn’t even think that such small squids could be stuffed. What a work of art! As I wanted to try both the meat and the sea elements, I had as a main course, the homemade ravioli stuffed with roasted pork that literally melted in my mouth…and then I was in food heaven! I continued with the codfish and puttanesca sauce with capers and anchovies that almost reminded me of Sicily and it’s flavors. My experience ended with some petit fours and the amazing Dessert Viareggio 3.0 which was made up of a wonderful sponge cake cream, vanilla, crunchy chocolate, rum flavored custard, wrapped in an opulent edible gold leaf. I got the honor of meeting the owner Mr Romano Franceschini, and his son Roberto, two of the most exquisite and knowledgeable restauranteurs that I have ever met. What an experience!

Nestled by the picturesque port of Viareggio, Trattoria Da Cicero is a hidden gem for those who appreciate authentic Italian cuisine. This charming eatery invites diners to indulge in delightful dishes like spaghetti alle vongole and generous seafood platters brimming with freshness.
Highly recommend. We had the house seafood appetizer which was composed of exquisite choices all different from eachother, the octopus in particular was cooked perfectly, not too hard or mushy. As a first dish we had Tagliatelle with lobster, also for two, the sauce was amazing and lobster was fresh and sweet, great quality. Finally, we finished with a frutti di bosco tart and a chocolate soufle with vanilla gelato. The service was outstanding, I literally never had to pour myself wine because the server was always attentive, Lucca helped us pick a wine as we weren't sure of which one would we like best, his care and delivery was outstanding.

My husband and I had very high expectations. Reviews and pictures of the menu were really promising. Also a local friend who lives in Viareggio had recommended it. So despite the fact that the restaurant is quite pricy we decided to have a try. Unfortunately we got a bit disappointed. We started with the antipasti - antipasti misti dello chef e insalata calda di mare, which we enjoyed although the mussels in my plate didn't taste so fresh. The main disappointment derived from the pasta dishes. As first dish I ordered spaghetti alle arselle, since it is one of the most famous dishes of the restaurant) which is made with a sauce of small clams and my husband had "spaghetti frutti di mare e pomodori" sea food and fresh cherry tomatoes. Both sauces were too salty (especially mine with the little clams was terribly salty) and both tasted like some "heavy" fats had been used, some artificial condiment. Italian cuisine usually avoids those artificial "emulsionanti" and privileges the use of Extra vergin olive oil. Olive oil makes food healthier and, to my palate, more satisfying. We did not order a second dish.
Coco Z — Google review
The place was absolutely cosy. If you ever stop by there you will experience the harbour atmosphere, lots of billioneire yachts moored in front of the restaurant. We had an amazing food experience, where I highly recommend the raw fish plate and the the risotto. The antipasto of the chef is worth as well. The missing star is about the super oily first dish, which cover it up the fish taste a little bit. About the price be ready to spend at least half 100 bucks, of course you paid for the quality and the Italian experience service. Thank You the pic: The raw fish, yummy right ?
Pier G — Google review
The food is pretty good (and very fresh), however the service could be a bit better - the waiter (who seemed quite old, and so should be very experienced) didn't bother to explain anything on the menu, gave me a strange look when I asked for a non-alcoh. beer, and never bothered to produce a smile or even try to be friendly. Overall he wasn't too bad, but this still a big contrast with the service you get in some other places (of the same level) in Viareggio we visited..

We ate at this restaurant two nights in a row and it was FANTASTIC! We tried for a third night but they were fully booked out so it pays to make a reservation. Really cosy and inviting restaurant inside. The food quality was of a very high standard. The meatballs were the best we’ve tasted. The flavors in the seafood carbonara and ricotta ravioli were just lovely and the accompanying breads - fabulous. We also loved the little ‘chefs treats’ that came out to the table. The wine pairing suggestions were on point. Really memorable meals and we will be back for sure!

Everything was perfect. We ordered truffle-flavored meat and potatoes, which was a wonderful combination. Every dish was fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend it. We ordered meat, potatoes, mushroom salad, fish, a bottle of wine, dessert, and coffee. The total came to 105 euros. The waiters were also very polite and attentive. The only thing missing was some relaxing classical music to accompany these wonderful meals😊

We had dinner at this restaurant 2 evenings in a row. The service is great. The waitress is attentive and knows the dishes they serve. I could take the rest of the bottle of white wine with me as I couldn’t finish because I had to drive. The food was delicious! I definitely recommend, make a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment because it seems like all tables are booked the two nights I went.

Great place, great food, great service. Not much more to add really. My wife had ravioli with black truffle and says it was amazing. I had Black Angus carpaccio, which was nicely served on spinach if I’m not mistaken, and, obviously, bistecca alla fiorentina. Quite a challenge at one sitting but what a tasty challenge it was. Oh, and the waiting staff were all great, very attentive, spoke good English, were very informative about the food and wine. The house wines were reasonably priced and went nicely with the food. Would definitely go there again.

We were lucky to get a table for dinner on our last night in town. The food was very well cooked, well presented, delicious and with the outstanding service and great atmosphere, we would highly recommend a visit. If steak is your thing, Amaro Braciera is your place.

The most wonderful dining experience. The food, drinks and service were all perfection. So much so we visited two nights in a row, and I've never done that before! A must visit if in Viareggio.

We had a fabulous meal attentively served by Julian, our waiter. We really fancied a steak meal and were not disappointed. The suggested wine choices were a perfect match as well. When we go to Viareggio in future we are sure to return.
