Catholic church
Sights & Landmarks
St Joseph's Church is a striking example of Brutalist architecture, designed by Auguste Perret. The church features an imposing octagonal tower and stunning geometric stained-glass windows. Standing at 107 meters tall, the illuminated spire serves as a beacon visible from the sea. While Perret intended the church to serve as a memorial to those lost in war due to his atheistic beliefs, collaborator Raymond Audigier envisioned it as a symbol of gratitude for peace.
Humbling and impressive church rebuilt to also act as a memorial to the previous church and lives lost to the bombings that leveled a lot of the city in the WWII 1944/1945 timeframe to include the hommage to the priest who lost his life going down with his church. Very modern and sobering structure now. Worth the story and understanding, especially with the carnage photos.

Surprisingly great brutalist church. Imposing architecture and magnificent lights inside thanks to the artistically tinted glasses. Perfect combination with the austere concrete interior decoration. Amazing
Tony B — Google review
Unique angular and modern architecture with a single tall steeple covered in coloured glass. Worth the trip to go inside to admire the colours. Even the seating is non traditional with pews on the sides of the central stage.
Tony K — Google review
A truly unique and beautiful church Can easily spent hour here just by admiring the architecture I had mixed feelings like being on the spaceship 😂
Ana V — Google review
This quite modern church tower can be seen almost anywhere in Le Havre. Quite an imposing structure, modern because Le Havre was flattened in WW2.
Ewan B — Google review
Most extraordinary church, I've ever been to. Great acoustic, and impressive piece of architecture
Piotr M — Google review
What a beautiful church, I lovely walk upto it past some boutique shops, it's cold inside (we visited in February off a cruise) but the stained glass and serenity is wonderful. €2 cash to light a small candle if you are thinking of this, no cards here as far as I can see. Free to enter here too.
Simon D — Google review
Visiting this church was one of the greatest and most meaningful experiences of my life. The building is simply stunning - impossible to adequately capture in words. I lit a candle for my departed daughter. 10 years on but never forgotten.

Art museum
The Museum of Modern Art André Malraux, also known as MuMa, is a striking glass-walled gallery located at the end of Rue de Paris. Inaugurated in 1961, this modernist museum houses an extensive collection spanning five centuries of art, with a particular focus on Impressionist and Fauvist painters. The building's design features a cube of glass that faces the sea, allowing natural light to flood the space.
A lovely art gallery to visit, right on the seafront in Le Havre. Some very attractive impressionist paintings to view, including a couple of Monet, Renoir and Pissarro among others. A friendly welcome, nice little shop and useful free lockers and loos too
Mary G — Google review
Really nice gallery. Not to big you can have a nice walk trough it and enjoy the art
Min T — Google review
It's really good. So many times I visited Le Havre, but it was my first time in MuMA. Exceptional collection of Boudin, some interesting pieces of Matisse, and, of course, Raoul Dufy, my love. Great accueil.
Oksana S — Google review
Art museum was about an hour or so walk through. Most of the writings about the paintings were in French, so used a translator to read the ones I cared about. A lot of the art work had audible recordings if you choose to go that route. First time here and possibly my last, as we’re from the US. So took this opportunity to view some recognized artwork with my own two eyes. Very surreal if you stop and think about the history you’re staring at.
Joseph P — Google review
Small regional museum. The collection is big but only a small number of paintings are displayed in a single large room on the first floor. Also the lights through the large windows are difficult with the sun outside. Only 1hour for the full tour of the permanent collection.
GentilDanseur G — Google review
Small but compact. It is one of the most interesting places I have visited. Photography amazing and matching paintings of scenes with actual photos. The history of photography is so interesting. Must see on your list.
Roger W — Google review
If you like impressionist art, this is a perfect museum. It has some modern art as well. The cafe seems to be a great place for lunch. It was very busy when we were there.
Mary A — Google review
Very interesting museum with friendly staff. Some lesser known impressionist works as well as some well known ones such as Renoir and Pissaro. Also some works that were curiously not at all modern. The restaurant is also very good value for an excellent three course lunch. We went on a Friday which seemed to serve a reduced price menu. Lovely sea views.

Very nice, great visit, plenty to see, watch the hours to make sure they will be open for planning purposes.

One of the must-see spots on the map of Le Havre. Not by my count, but by that of Trip Advisor, a recommendation I won't contest, but only because there isn't that much to choose from to include on the top 10 list. Nice stained glass windows. 👌

The Hanging Gardens in Le Havre, France, are a captivating destination for travelers seeking natural beauty and panoramic views. Situated on the site of a 19th-century Napoleonic fort overlooking the Seine estuary, these gardens offer breathtaking vistas of the sea and port. Visitors can explore four bastions adorned with rare plants collected by botanist explorers and wander through greenhouses filled with fragrant flora from around the world.
We had a lovely walk here . We came when there was a heatwave and in the gardens you could really enjoy the fresh air. You have different types of gardens all very beautiful . There is a cafe and a labyrinth as well . You can really do a gorgeous walk and have some stunning views from Le Havre . There are 2 entries with both having parking which makes it very easy . Parking is free . Definitely worth the visit.

We came on a cold but sunny day in January. It was very quiet but peaceful to sit on the chairs and ponder…. The greenhouses were closed, which was a shame, as we were only in Le Havre for the day. The gardens were well kept and could imagine it was be beautiful in the spring/summer!

Gorgeous gardens with lawns, greenhouses, paths, and an incredible view of Le Havre. When I visited there was a wonderful photo show as well. And the cafe is very nice too. I spent more than three hours at the gardens and would gladly have stayed longer.
Pedro A — Google review
Beautiful large gardens with something for everyone. There is a cafe open for visitors, and labyrinth for kids and many places to take photos of ancient structures and flora
Ronnie A — Google review
A heaven of peace and serenity. I love to stroll around here and enjoy this tranquil parc. It’s in a little hollow and this conveniently protected on windy days. It also features a lovely bistro. I did not visit the greenhouses that cost a small fee, yet.

Perfect for a nice evening stroll, the calm and relaxing scenery will ease your soul. This place is especially nice as few people take the time to get there, probably because it's up a hill. Anyway you should definitely try it !

Restaurant Le Pure is ideally located on the quayside, offering a warm and convivial bistro atmosphere. The restaurant prides itself on using high-quality seasonal ingredients from local suppliers to create authentic homemade cuisine. Under the passionate direction of Pauline and Eric, this dining experience promises refined bistro-style dishes that are both delicious and unique.
What can I say. Best choice definitely. We choosed this restaurant after a very long day motorbike ride from the UK, we were tired and just wanted to eat some nice food. We did indeed! We were offered some type of local beer what was a bit sweet but still nice and refreshing. We had burgers what were delicious and different, all with brios bun, loads of sauce,a delicious pollock and my favourite the linguine with the cheese and olives crumble... Something heavenly, I wish I know the recpie of this pasta would eat it every week!! We had no space left for desserts unfortunately and we were super tired, but this place definitely a go for if you are in the area!
Sylvie L — Google review
Food is 3/5, service is 2/5, dessert is 1/5. How is it possible to make pavlova so bad? It didn’t have any connection to original dessert, it was super dry and hard. Waiter didn’t know any word in English and when I asked to change table cover (it was dirty) before dessert he said I will not do it and just took dirty one, didn’t bring fresh. Pork stake was just fat. Not possible to it.

Nestled on a serene street in Le Havre, Le Bouche A Oreille is a charming family-owned restaurant that offers an elegant yet relaxed ambiance, perfect for indulging in traditional French cuisine. The menu features prix-fixe options showcasing delectable dishes like fried prawns with truffle oil risotto, seared tuna steak with sesame seed wasabi and pepper cream, and delightful vanilla creme brulee.
This place is fabulous! The food is soooo good. I had items #2, 3, 5 and 6 from the 32 euro menu with the Quincy wine. Arrived right as it opened for the day on a Saturday. It got busy quickly after. Menu is small but everything is very well prepared and presented. Small and out of the way, it's a true taste of the town.

We really enjoyed everything about our visit to Le Bouche A Oreille. The food was spectacular. DELICIOUS. Portions size were also good. High quality and very affordable. If I ever come back to Le Havre I’ll go again.

Friendly service, reasonable price, very good round bread, delicious dessert. A little bit disappointed in the main course because the fish was not flavored. The sauce became watery due to the red beans and quinoa.

All food was delicious! Outstanding service and attention to detail was evident! It’s evident that they put a lot of heart into their dishes!

What a gastronomic delight! Extremely pleasant experience, with friendly service and outstanding food. This has the feel of a local restaurant with people who are proud of what they do. Everything we had was stellar, with delectable sauces that both enhanced and introduced complementary flavors. This meal was a journey where the sauces led a blended path between courses which told a fantastic story that I hope to experience again some day. I found the Yellow chicken with Parmesan, a mixture of spices, and cream of peppers to be especially delightful and unique both in presentation and flavor.
Dan J — Google review
What a wonderful, delicious experience! The atmosphere was simple but very clean and welcoming the seats were very comfortable and the dining area was spotless. The amuse-bouche was delicious and consisted of a Parmesan infused foie gras mouse that melted in your mouth accompanied by a small spoon sized serving of a wonderful silky cod mix that had a slightly salty but rich flavor. I ordered the carpaccio of fish served with slightly sweet pickled onions and herbs with a serveral dollops of a Dijon mustard sauce. It was fantastic! My wife enjoyed her appetizer of a large portion of fresh foie gras served with an apple chutney and toast points that tasted like sweet corn meal. What a delightful combination. We shared both and we were very happy! I ordered a glass of a 2017 St Emillion bordeaux. The only complaint I have is that the glass it was served in was too small for such a good wine. It took too long to fully open up in such a small glass. That aside our mains were fantastic and I would even say superior! My wife had the Langoustine risotto and it was "to die for" silky and smooth risotto with mouth watering texture accompanied by 7 or a perfectly prepared Langoustine, wonderful! I enjoyed a perfectly cooked (rare is my jam) beef fillet served with delicious asparagus and smooth mashed potatoes surrounded by a generous serving of an exquisitely prepared morel sauce. Paired with my Bordeaux this was the best lunch we have had in a very long time! For desert we shared a wonderful entremet ala orange to send a perfect meal into the stratosphere. Just wonderful!! Our compliments to the very talented chef and very friendly and attentive staff. We cannot praise them enough!!

Jean-Luc Tartarin, located at 73 Avenue Foch, is a renowned restaurant in the Normandy region. With two Michelin stars and thirteen years of culinary excellence, Chef Jean-Luc Tartarin showcases his passion for exquisite ingredients and daring flavor combinations. Dishes like smoked langoustine with squid ink cappuccino and poached turbot with Calabrian olive oil demonstrate the chef's innovative approach to cooking.
Fantastic fine dining experience. The portions, menu and wine were all amazing. The staff makes one feel valued and important. The kitchen works hard to make sure the dishes are well plated, balanced and fine. Appropriate dress is necessary. It’s not stuffy and pretentious. The bread was made in house and amazing. I highly recommend for date night! It isn’t cheap but worth the value. You will not leave feeling hungry or disappointed
Xo Q — Google review
It was nice, but not at the level you might expect. I only had their lunch menu, so probably not what you’d get for the whole tasting menu. I had a salmon with beef soup that was really pretty boring. Then a fish (a bit salty) with celery risotto (pretty good) and to finish the cheese was just average for this type of restaurant. The wine list is good but classic in every way. Very nice Calvados list by the glass.
Cristobal D — Google review
This was a return visit because we loved it so much the first time in December 2023. We had the monthly menu and were not disappointed. The presentation was beautiful, but there was nothing overly fussy. Other menus seemed to have different plates for the same dishes (assuming that was to accommodate a larger serving as it looked to be from the lunch menu), but when you are paying more for the menu it would be nice to have the better presentation. It was for this reason I'm glad we did not do the tasting menu. The food was really beautiful otherwise, so can't take a star off. The service was immaculate. No request was refused. The food came out quickly and there was no problem when we requested a small break between courses. Waiters knew the menu and the sommilier was able to assist in a suitable wine to match the menu. Music was played softly in the background, but because of where we were seated next to the service area, we felt a little exposed at the start. We were the only ones sitting in the restaurant, and while it is great to receive service even before you realise you need it, it was a little awkward having the wait staff standing about 5 metres away watching while we ate. That is the only reason for the removal of a star. Perhaps a way to fix that could be to place the first people to arrive away from the service area. Will definitely be back as we absolutely love this place xx

Every detail with the use of local products was flawlessly imagined, prepared, presented, and served! The creativity in their menu and dishes was truly impressive! 👏
Joana V — Google review
Recently downgraded from 2 star to 1 and I can see why. The dishes seem more concerned wtih being innovative than tasty. We were staying in Honfleur and made a trek out to Le Havre just for this restaurant and didn't feel it was worth it. It's not bad, just not worth a detour.
K C — Google review
Worthy of every accolade. Had the most amazing meal there today. I ordered the full tasting menu. Two and a half hours of gastronomic bliss only made more special by the attentive and flawless staff. My favorite was the sweetbreads, as well as the millefleure dessert. But everything was extraordinary. The dining room is intimate, without having tables on top of each other. The walls a light grey, with wood blinds and tables, giving a neutral palette to let the colorful food stand out. What an extraordinary experience.
Andrew B — Google review
This was one of my last meals during my visit to France, and, fortunately, I saved the best for the last. The service was pitch perfect, which stood out compared to other experiences. It was the right blend of being attentive but also relaxed. The restaurant itself was nice and comfortable, and not pretentious. The lunch I had was amazing -- ever dish from the appetizers to desert was noteworthy. Highly recommended.
Adam S — Google review
This place is a must go to. We came here for my partners birthday and everything was good from start to finish. The ambiance is lovely, the food was delicious. You can tell that the chef goes above and beyond. The flavors in every dish are unique and tasty. Unforgettable experience. However.. ** The one thing I did not appreciate is that the waitress smelled really bad of cigarettes. I don't this is very appropriate for a restaurant like this. However the restaurant itself, considering the food and service, deserves 5 stars. I would recommend for the manager to review some of the expectations with the staff because this could really be tainting to such a great restaurant and that would be an absolute shame. This was our first time here and will definitely try to come back. My partner was happy and so was I.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really tasty homemade food and super friendly service. The Armenian lady who runs it was so kind — felt like eating at someone’s house. We had the fish and duck, both really good, and finished with an Armenian dessert that surprised us (in a good way). Fast service, generous portions, fair price. Would absolutely come back.

Enjoyed lunch here, but was a bit disappointed overall with our lunch menu of 29.50€. Amuse bouches was great. Foie gras was excellent. Entrecote was quite fatty. Cheese plate was similar to one found in every school cantine. Apple pie was enjoyable. Accueil was what separates this restaurant from it's neighbors.
