The Teatro Umberto Giordano is a significant cultural center in the city, having hosted important events such as an orchestra conducted by Riccardo Muti. It is one of the top three theaters in Puglia and was built in 1828 based on the model of Naples' S. Carlo theater. After a lengthy restoration, it reopened to the public in 2014 with 300 seats in the stalls, stage, and gallery.

It is the main theater of the city of Foggia and is named after the Foggia composer Umberto Giordano, the same one who learned the basics of classical music here during his adolescence. From the 1940s until 1950 the theater suffered serious damage due to the bombings of 1943 which hit not only the theater but the entire city. Since 1960, with the great economic recovery after the war, the "Giordano" returns to being operational and will host great leading artists such as Anna Magnani, Nino Taranto, Salvo Randone, Walter Chiari, Paolo Panelli, Gino Bramieri, etc. In 1982 they will come restoration work carried out. In 2006, the theater ceased operations again for structural reasons. After 8 long years, on 10 December 2014 it was reopened with a concert by the Cherubini Youth Orchestra conducted by maestro Riccardo Muti. Today the theater is in full operation, and in its maximum splendor. I was truly fascinated, and this evening I was lucky enough to attend a beautiful performance of "The Irresistible Boys" with Umberto Orsini and Franco Branciaroli. I highly recommend going to see a show. The acoustics are excellent and the atmosphere magical. (Translated by Google) The Umberto Giordano Theater has been reopened after a long renovation. Today you can admire its splendor. He was born in Piazza Cesare Battisti in Foggia near the Dante bookshop. Its name is dedicated to the Foggia composer Umberto Giordano. In 1828 with the inauguration of the theater the viewing of works was dedicated only to the noble and illustrious, at the time it was called the "Real Ferdinando" theater, dedicated in honor of Ferdinand I of Bourbon. Its elegance among the bright and shiny colors reflects its details. Few people know that upstairs in the "Fedora" room, the name of Umberto Giordano's work, used for conferences and symposiums, you can appreciate the composer's original polished grand piano 🎹 and his signature is placed inside , authenticity certificate. The turning point was when, with popular participation, carnival parties and events were dedicated, symbolizing that the theater regained its city status. Many companies and numerous artists in the most varied and important operas and melodramas performed over the times. In 1928 its name was "Teatro Dauno". It was affected by the bombings of the World War, many wanted to erect other monuments and buildings after the demolition, but the strong sense of artistic rebirth raised it from the rubble. Still immobile and far-sighted, it stands tall and dominates the large square. (Original) Il Teatro Umberto Giordano è stato riaperto dopo una lunga ristrutturazione. Ambasciata Orsarese is a popular trattoria that offers a unique dining experience. Instead of choosing from a menu, guests are treated to a 12-course degustation showcasing regional ingredients and dishes. The small, quickly served dishes include delicacies like mussels in white wine sauce, pasta with wild fennel and broad bean puree with chicory leaves. Priced at 40 euros per person, the meal includes water, juice, and alcohol.
I’m impressed with the service and cuisines quality here. I went alone and Signor Alessandro suggested me a table with comfortable zone. Starters and first dishes were delightful. Dolci and drinks are worthy to try.

It is hard to explain how fantastic of an experience this was. Our B&B host described it as 'not a restaurant, but an Apulian wedding' and perhaps that would explain the endless courses of amazing food. We lost track of how many dishes there were - maybe 20 - all top rate and many an excellent reminder of why Italian cuisine is so peerless. The only caution is to pace yourself while eating - if try to eat everything, you won't make it to the last dishes, there's just way too much food! Also, the price was amazing - 40 EUR for the tasting menu. This was easily one of my favourite meals I've had across five trips to Italy.

We will remember this lunch for a very long time, it was a very special experience. They have a tasting menu, all local and seasonal and traditional. The amount of food is crazy, it was 12 courses I think? Everything was delicious, lots of fish and veggies, sweets were also incredible. The staff were very nice and spoke english. Would recommend to come for lunch rather than dinner as it is so much food. Plan at least 3 hours for the meal, we spent just 3 hours there and would have stayed a bit longer but we were traveling. It costs 40 eur per person for the food and 10 eur per person for the wine (3 glasses - bubbly, white and red).

Amazing food made it with love directly from the heart of the chef! Wonderful place and the quality of the ingredients, presentation of dishes and the service are over the best! The “menu fisso” takes you to different levels of imagination because of the flavours. Unique! From the wine, passing through every meal, the bread, and the desserts are incredible!

An amazing meal and experience in a small trattoria, this is not a la carte dining. Rather your meal is a 12 (or so) course degustation, highlighting ingredients and dishes from the region. Some examples: Mussels in a simple white wine sauce Pasta with wild fennel, garlic flowers and zucchini Broad bean puree topped with chicory leaves The dishes are small and arrive quickly without feeling rushed. The hosts are friendly and informative (the owner speaks English too). Finally, the price. €30 per person. It's incredible value.

Nestled conveniently near the Foggia train station, Osteria del Grano Arso is a delightful culinary stop that should not be missed. This charming eatery offers an array of mouthwatering dishes, including their renowned four-cheese pizza that has left many craving for more long after leaving. Diners rave about the fresh ingredients and exceptional flavors found in every bite, from the homemade bread to the exquisite insalata di mare featuring top-quality fish.
I went to the Ostaria del grano arso a month ago and loved it. It has been my regular place every time I am in Foggia. Really nice staff, great "burnt wheat" pizza and cosy atmosphere. I really recommend it.

My friend and I visited this very nice place near the train station for dinner. The service was very good and even though the waiter couldn’t speak a lot of English he managed to make me feel at home. The orecchiette were delicious and there was even enough “sauce” to do the “scarpetta” as they call it. Not so many vegan options but they managed to give me a dessert that was just as delicious as the pasta. I recommend it if you want to try something tasty and don’t want to wander around the city. P.S. The wine there is something I highly recommend ✨

Excelent service! I’d try “insalata di mare” and it was AMAZING! The mixture of flavours and the quality of the fish are Excelent! Then pasta di grano arso and a wine recommended by the waitress. The waiting staff were really friendly, they took time to explain menu items to me, and were lovely throughout, even though I don't speak much Italian! The food was delicious. I highly recommend the Burnt wheat Orecchiette! In between orders, the waiter would also sometimes pick up his guitar and play along (very well) to the music, it made the place feel authentic and very friendly! I can highly recommend it!

A yummy little gem close to the Foggia train station. The bread is made in-house and is delicious! I had the anti-pasta with freshly made Burrata. Also on this occasion, a Sunday, they make pasta al forno which was perfectly done. Topped it off with homemade tiramisu. The staff were kind and helpful in us making our choices.

The Demsi Hotel told us to try this restaurant for lunch. What a gem! The waiter was patient with our English and made recommendations from the menu. The pasta and the roast were magnificent. The service was excellent as well. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Foggia and need a place to eat. We love music, and our waiter was playing guitar while watching a TV show highlighting some of the greatest guitarists in the world. We had a great time eating, drinking, and enjoying the music.

Unpleasant experience: we booked a table at 10 PM and it was clear since we arrived that the owner overbooked the restaurant, as there were at least five or six groups of people "in front of us" also booked at 10 PM. When confronted, the owner just shrugged and went away. I ended up going some other place, no regrets. I don't care how good your pizza is, your business sucks and I don't want to finance it.

We ate here for lunch and ordered the daily menu. Most of the meals of the day contained seafood and there weren't that many vegetarian options.
