Nestled in the heart of Grosseto, the Palazzo Aldobrandeschi stands as a stunning testament to the region's rich history and architectural beauty. This neo-Gothic masterpiece, completed in 1903 and designed by renowned Tuscan architect Lorenzo Porciatti, draws inspiration from medieval Sienese styles. Its striking asymmetrical facade showcases a blend of travertine and brick, while Renaissance-style windows adorned with marble consoles add an elegant touch.

The Cattedrale di San Lorenzo, also known as the Grosseto Cathedral, is a 13th-century Catholic place of worship located in Grosseto. The cathedral features a notable facade made of white and black marble layers, with most of it being the result of restorations in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Amazing structure in old city centre in Grosseto.

Piazza Dante in Grosseto is a tranquil, historically rich square that has preserved its authentic atmosphere. It is dominated by the 13th-century Cathedral of Saint Lawrence and the neo-Gothic Palazzo Aldobrandeschi, the seat of the province. At its center stands the statue of Grand Duke Leopold II, known as Canapone, symbolizing the reclamation of the Maremma region. The square is unassuming, lacking bustling cafés or restaurants, which enhances its peaceful character. It is an ideal spot for those seeking a quiet pause and wishing to savor the historical ambiance of the city.

Archaeological museum
The Archaeological Museum and Art of Maremma, located in Grosseto's historic center, is a stately museum showcasing archaeological exhibits from Roselle and a collection of medieval artwork with religious themes. The museum is housed in the Palazzo Corboli, a magnificent 12th-century palace that has been refurbished to accommodate the Museo d'Arte Sacra e Archeologico.
The collection of Etruscan artifacts is amazing and the visit gives a wonderful overall view of the development of Etruscan civilization in the area with many descriptions and historical references. But what is absolutely amazing is the kindness and the knowledge of all the young people in charge of the reception that do not hesitate to leave their site to come next to you and help understanding what is on exhibition. Particularly expert and kind the guy on last floor dedicated to medieval arts…. He came to help us understanding the particular importance of two masterpieces , one of them the Madonna delle ciliegie a sublime painting from Sassetta ! A joy to be welcomed there by the smile and kind attitude of young people passionate of art !
Julia S — Google review
The museum itself is really worth visiting, with fascinating exhibitions and a lot to discover. However, if Italian or English is not your first language, it can sometimes be difficult to fully follow along. Each room has only a general introduction in English, while most of the detailed information is in Italian. Even though I speak both languages fairly well, the specialized archaeological vocabulary is not always easy to understand. The English audioguide could also be improved. It was sometimes hard to stay synchronized with the content, as it often restarted or lost my place, and there was no clear numbering system to match the stories with specific objects. This made it tricky at times to know exactly which exhibit the guide was referring to. Overall, it’s a very good museum with great potential, and with a few improvements to translations and the audioguide system, the visitor experience would be even better.

This museum has a stunning collection of Etruscan artifacts! The beautiful art is perfect for a visit to see 200 year old sculpture, ceramic and bronze Etruscan creations, and gorgeous life-sized Roman marble sculptures! I definitely recommend a visit!

Amazing museum if you are interested in etruschi's it is a must. Big enough to enjoy good 2 hours. At the top floor there is a good representation of sacre art even if I am not particularly in love with that it is nice to spend 30 minutes there. The staff was nice and helpful not particularly busy in a summer morning.

Italian restaurant
The italian restaurant Gli Attortellati is a great place to enjoy some delicious Italian cuisine. The food is reasonably priced and the atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful. The service is friendly and welcoming, making it perfect for a special occasion or just to relax with a good meal.
We had an amazing experience at Gli Attortellati, the food was incredible, we ordered the set menu with one of us being gluten free and it would have to be one of the best gluten free meals ever. My friend didn’t miss out on indulging on all things gluten but whatever they ate, the gluten free equivalent was just as good! The service was quick and very efficient, the staff were also very kind and polite. We sat outside among the trees and it truly was a beautiful night with outstanding food and service. 10/10 recommend going inside and watching the pasta being handmade you’ll also find a small store of all things Gli Attortellati!

An exceptional restaurant, those who gives negative reviews misses the concept of the place which is very well documented in the web and advising apps. They have fixed menus with three choices, which makes it possible to excel in freshness and speed even in high seasons. If you are Muslim or Jews and can’t eat pork or have gluten problems read the homepage and go somewhere else. For those who can read and have no food problems enjoy a real rarity!

👎 Worth experience… We were drawn in by the glowing reviews, but unfortunately, our experience at this trattoria was disappointing. Do not understand the hype around this place. Do not know who from the management came with the idea of the menu (package). This is how they x-sell food, monetizing bad customer experience. The idea of the menu is really bad as the composition is completely different. Would you like to have starter plate with meet&cheese you should go with most expensive. Waiting time is a disaster. Overall we spent here 3 hours. Regrettably, we felt that the prices didn't match the quality of the dishes we had. If you're seeking a dining experience with higher quality, I suggest looking elsewhere. What we like: staff, garten, interior

The restaurant is fantastic. In an incredible location, the outdoor bit is lovely and so so nice to eat in. The food is just sensational and the team is always super careful with intolerances or preferences whether you’re vegetarian or vegan there’s always something for you there. They are all lovely and we love to go there every year if we are around. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the area
Gian R — Google review
Fantastic local restaurant with delicious and plentiful portions of maremma specialties, come hungry and best for a good sized group, family, etc. most patrons are served in the large outdoor garden which is busy and has a fun atmosphere. The servers are kind and efficient even though they are very busy. The house wine was a lovely accompaniment for the dinner. Reservations are mandatory. Beware, the parking situation is a little bit hectic and tight and the parking attendant in back does not seem to be very good at his job, instead of being helpful he made things worse.

Everything is nice at Gli Attortellati. The garden, under the trees, the service with only nice staff, even if they are running around in hot air. And the food, so nice so much (we took the 35 euros menu. The house wine is fair for the price. So be ready, portions are generous, taste is great, come here starving to honour the kitchen chef. Reservation advised.

Great place, great food with a very decent price. We can't finished the whole set menu. Absolutely stuffed you well. The main dishes are a bit salty to me (could be my personal view, but I am also not the only one who likes this way.) . Other than that, it is a great experience.

This was my 2nd experience here, and everithing was tastyyyy 🤤! Other things that i ❤️ here : - welcoming atmosphere ; - positive and smiling spirit of the local staff ; - particularity of the trattoria ; - products that are homemade ; - the story of Gli Attortellati ; - really generous dishes ; - the garden (can’t wait the summer time) And the rest, i’ll let you discover by yourself! Fast food restaurant
I had a wonderful time at this establishment, where there is a wide selection of delectable dishes that are expertly prepared and flavorful. Upon arrival, you place your order and choose between indoor or outdoor seating options. When your food is ready, it is announced over a loudspeaker in Italian, so familiarity with the language or having an Italian speaker with you would be beneficial. This venue caters mainly to carnivores, as vegetarians and vegans may find limited options.
I had the best lunch here, everything is fresh and super tasty. The prices are very good also and we've only spent around 30Euros for 4 people and you couldn't eat everything really. The best place to eat so this is definitely a must try.
Ruxandra B — Google review
I usually try to be very fair when evaluating restaurants and food, and I want to share my honest experience here. We ordered a burger with two patties and different cheeses (Il fantastico beef). The cheese combination was a bit heavy, but that was not the main issue. The real problem was the burger PATTIES themselves. They didn’t taste like authentic beef burgers at all. The texture was overly fine, heavily spiced, and came across as artificial. Honestly, it was one of the worst patties I’ve ever had — even a fast-food chain burger would have tasted better. The second dish we ordered was a steak (Gioiosa), requested medium. Unfortunately, it was served very rare — and while we do enjoy rare meat, this one was closer to raw and lacked flavor. We actually had to add salt just to make it more enjoyable. It’s really unfortunate, because the concept of the restaurant is good and the staff were polite and attentive. However, unless the quality of the ingredients improves, I fear many customers will be disappointed and not return.

Biggest burger I've ever had and enjoyed it completely, would gladly come back here again, it says something about a restaurant when two soccer teams and about another forty people walk in behind you to have dinner there. Maybe someday I can back again for another treat of this great place.

Loved this place. Food was good, service interesting, atmosphere impressive.
Rob P — Google review
I really enjoyed my visit to this place, there are plenty of food choices and it was well cooked and tasty. You order food at the entrance and find a seat - indoor and outdoor options are available. When it's ready, they call your order number over a loud speaker and you pick up your food from the grill or sandwich area. Be aware that it's called quickly and in Italian so you either need to know your Italian numbers or have an Italian speaker with you! Great place for meat eaters, unlikely to be appreciated by vegetarians or vegans. Worth a visit if you want reasonably priced, tasty grilled meats or burgers without all the frills.
Stephen E — Google review
For a fast food, this is good quality. People are friendly, despite the fact they must routinely endure rough crowds. Maybe because that day it wasn't that busy? Burgers were delicious and the tagliata excellent. We were pleasantly surprised, indeed.
Walter P — Google review
This is a great joint. Huge menu with lots of great choices. Perfect for people on the road for lunch. The atmosphere is great and the food is really good quality with affordable prices. However they do not offer an english menu and so it's impossible for a tourist to read all the choices so we had to choose only something with an image. I would suggest they have some english menus available for the occasional tourists.

Restaurant
Locanda de' Medici Grosseto is a unique restaurant located in a century-old cellar tavern within the old city walls of Grosseto. The building is contained within the ancient walls that surround the city center, adding to its historical charm. The restaurant offers traditional dishes with a focus on impeccable meat and handmade pasta. Despite being underground, the atmosphere is warm and comfortable, providing a unique dining experience. Visitors praise the generous portions of pasta and the flavorful ragu that accompanies it.

Great Italian experience in the underground tonels of the old city. Perfect choice if you want to try the Italian way with food and wine.
Haralambi K — Google review
I was having a hard time finding this place because I was trying to find a building but couldn't - because it's underground! This restaurant has a very unique feel. Because it's underground so it feels like a bomb shelter or a church hiding from persecution but yet the place is very warm and comfortable. I wasn't very hungry so I only got their pasta - tortellini I think. It was HUGE. The ragu gave the pasta its taste because the pasta itself was really bland. They have a good spread of bread though. I paid €10 for the pasta, €2 for the water & €2 cover charge. I'd say the prices are a bit high because I came from Ravenna & Florence & they served great pasta at only about €6.50 to €8 and they were better O must say. But yes, come here for the interior design! Their underground wine "cellar" is really cool.

Seafood restaurant
Rotonda 1933, a recently discovered establishment in Marina di Grosseto's restaurant scene, is striving to carve out its own niche. Although the prices are steep, they are reflective of the high quality and sophistication offered. The staff members are courteous and well-trained, ensuring minimal waiting times for customers. Notably, Executive Chef Raffaella Cacciapuoti's selection of dishes is commendable.
A good selection of pastries for breakfast and great coffee. I have been a couple of times now & they smile, are friendly and make every effort to speak English. The girl serving is lovely. The decor is smart and the place is a nice one to start your day.

Delicious seafood and excellent service! The seafood was incredibly flavorful - some of the best I've had in a long time. Unfortunately, there were a few grains of sand in one of the dishes, but aside from that, everything was excellent. The service was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Portions were reasonable, and the pricing was fair. Overall, a great dining experience - definitely recommend!

Whether it’s for a relaxed breakfast, a nice dinner, or just drinks with friends, Rotonda 1933 is a solid choice all year round. Just a short walk from the sea, it’s stylish without being over the top. Great food, fresh ingredients (especially the seafood), and friendly service. It’s become a real reference point in Marina di Grosseto — perfect for both summer evenings and cozy winter hangouts.

Nice place if you get a good spot in the rooftop and you can then enjoy the seaview and sunset while having a bite or a drink. In our case as it rained when we went, we were moved downstairs where you loose all that nice atmosphere. Food was okay, nothing special; we had tris di antipasti, frittura and as main tortelli all’orata e calamarata. The personnel was nice, however, I wouldn’t recommend the place, knowing that there are many good restaurants in the Marremma area that offer, in my opinion, better value for money.
Lara F — Google review
We came here on Sunday to eat fish and found one of the nices restaurants in Marina de die Grosetto! The service was friendly, speaks English and is very attentive when taking our order . Tagliere Maremmano as starter, a true hero starter with ham, salami, onionand cheese. Main course was "Ombrina al forno", a big block of soft white fish meat with velvety pumpkin soup and dried tomatoes.. delightful fish meal!! For the cocktails we went with "Mojito Hibiscus" and "Rotonda Fizz" both very fruity and also nicely heavy on the alcohol side of things. One of the best evenings in an restaurant on a filled rooftop terrace at a fair price and high quality food. We will return any time possible to taste the rest of the food!

Il Carrettino 100% senza glutine is a quirky trattoria and patisserie offering Sicilian pasta, pizza, and mains with gluten-free options. Located just minutes from the city center, this entirely gluten-free Sicilian restaurant features a menu clearly indicating vegetarian and vegan dishes.

I ordered a pizza. I can’t believe it’s gluten free! Amazing crust and wood oven flavour! My husband got to try the amaro don corleone at the end of the meal. I only had a sip but it is super good. I wished that I had asked about buying a bottle because we couldn’t find it at the airport.

I am not on a gluten-free diet but my wife is. We saw the reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. Normally I'm not a fan of the taste of gluten free food but this was excellent. We both had pasta dishes and I honestly couldn't tell that it was gluten free. Not only were they beautifully presented but they were delicious - the fish was fresh and beautifully cooked and flavoursome. I'd recommend this place whether you are looking for gluten free or not.

We had a wonderful experience at this stylish Sicilian restaurant in Italy. From the moment we arrived, the staff's kindness and attentiveness stood out and made us feel incredibly welcome. The food was absolutely delicious. What truly surprised us was discovering afterwards that the restaurant is gluten-free. We've tried gluten-free food before and it usually doesn’t compare — but here, everything tasted so good we genuinely wouldn’t have known. A real hidden gem for both gluten-free diners and anyone who just loves great food. Highly recommended!

I visited this place with my friend today. We checked the opinions before and we were very curious and excited cause it was the highest rated restaurant in grosseto. The interior is beautiful, vibe is very cozy and stuff was very polite. We are extremely disappointed with food. We ordered Parmigiana for the start and that was the best thing we ate there. The portion was small and overpriced but it was tasty. For the mains we took gnocchi with zucchini sauce. In the menu it was written 'with red shrimps'. As you can see at the photo we got just one shrimp. Gnocchi was fine, but the sauce didn’t have the flavor and in general the dish was on the low level. The second dish we ordered spaghetti with swordfish, eggplant and capers. Again, spaghetti was fine but the sauce was misunderstanding. We were searching for flavor but didn’t find it. Summing up we appreciate that was gluten free and pasta was really nice but doesn’t make the restaurant worth visiting just because of it, if it doesn’t bring good flavor. p.s. after reading low reviews we are waiting for response from the owner (a little humility) p.s. actually we were in the sicily
