Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Historical landmark
Lubart's Castle, dating back to the 14th century, is a fortified structure featuring three towers integrated into its walls. While information about the castle may be limited, it remains an intriguing and historic destination. Visitors have the opportunity to engage in archery activities at the castle, which proved to be more challenging than expected.
Wonderful place with medieval spirit. You can walk around for a very symbolic price. For an additional price (which is small too) we were invited to climb the tower and enjoy the view.

Not much to see but still cool. This is the first castle I've ever seen so I'm sure there is better. I went to the very top of the tower. The tour guide did a great job. If you do not speak English, there isn't much help for you just a heads up!

Ancient castle, very old and strong. Although not so much to see in there. If you are really interested in history, want to shot a movie oelr make interesting photo session, then I would recommend it. Also if you are for the first time in the city. One time is enough to see everything in it)

I love the ancient atmosphere of Lubart's castle. observation decks provide great view and transfer you back to ancient 1000 century. The 28 meter-high Entrance Tower of Lutsk Castle was where the idea of a united Europe was voiced for the first time. And it happened in 1429. You need to see it at least once. The story of Danylo Bratkivsky is really moving.

This is a really nice well preserved castle. Small entrance fee. Several additional "for pay" museums once inside.
Rob G — Google review
To date, only ancient chronicles indicate that the stone walls were formerly made of wood, which also successfully deterred the enemy. In 1331, the son of the Lithuanian prince Lubart married Agrippina, the daughter of the ruler of the Galicia-Volyn principality. He accepted the Orthodox faith and in 1340 ascended the throne. It was he who ordered the construction of stone walls instead of wooden ones. 1340 is considered the year of foundation of Lutsk Castle. Its construction was carried out of brick. In addition, a dam was built on the river Styr, which raised the water level around the fortress. In 1366 the city was captured by Polish troops and since then Lutsk has become not only the permanent residence of the prince, but also the capital of the principality. The reliability of the fortress was well known in European countries. Not surprisingly, it was here, in the Upper Castle in Lutsk, that the Congress of Monarchs of 1429 was held. By today's standards, that convention can be equated to a G-8 meeting. 15,000 people came to Luchesk (Lutsk) to discuss the most pressing political and economic problems. Lubart's castle, as its locals called it, will withstand more than one assault and more than one siege. Tatars and Poles tried to capture Lutsk. However, over time, due to the fact that money for the maintenance of fortress buildings was stolen by officials, the castle, as a defensive structure, fell into disrepair. This led to the fact that in 1595 the army of Severin Nalyvayko captured the fortress city, receiving a large contribution from the townspeople. After that, Lutsk Castle finally lost its fortification function. Now it served only to house the administration and the courts, of which there were five: the city, zemstvo, sub-chamber, hood and Lutsk tribunals. This Castle was not conquered by the Golden Horde! But later, he and Ukraine were captured by the Soviet evil empire.

(Translated by Google) The history of the Lutsk Cathedral Church of Saints Peter and Paul dates back to 1616. Previously, the church was part of the Lutsk defense complex and its height reaches 42 meters. The church was built for twenty-three years and over the centuries of its existence it was repeatedly rebuilt due to fires and World War II. Also in 1648, Lutsk was captured by the Cossacks led by B. Khmelnytsky - the churches were robbed, their property was destroyed, so the Jesuits left their shrine and returned here only in 1667. The central sculpture of the facade is the figure of the Virgin Mary, who stands on a globe and fights with an aggressive snake: the right foot of the Blessed Virgin throws the snake aside, and the left presses its head to the ground. There are also sculptures of the apostles Peter and Paul and unknown saints. The church itself has preserved many works of art from different periods, memorial plaques, epitaphs, ancient Italian canvases and wall paintings, six sculptures of the 18th century. After the war, the church was used as an office. In 1980, it became the regional museum of atheism, and in 1982 the High Altar with its marble staircase and gilded sculptures was dismantled. However, in 1990, the first Roman Catholic service was held here, and in the following years the church was restored and services resumed. In 1999, an organ brought from Germany was installed, made by one of the oldest organ companies, which enchants visitors with its music. Now the Jesuit church is the Roman Catholic cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

The Lutheran Church in Lutsk is a captivating piece of history, constructed in the early 20th century and showcasing stunning Neo-Gothic architecture. This church stands on a street that shares its name, making it easy to find for those exploring the city. Originally built as a place of worship for the local Lutheran community, it served German colonists who settled in Volyn during the Russian Empire's expansion.
Marvel to look at from outside. One of those places that defined Luck’s skyline for many years. They also have church services every Sunday. Everyone is welcome.

(Translated by Google) At this place in 1745 there was a church that burned, after reconstruction it burned again and stood in ruins for a long time. When Volhynia became part of the Russian Empire, the government encouraged the resettlement of Germans here, as it hoped to restore and bring agriculture and industry to a high level with their help. (Nothing new, because before the Germans settled in Russia, there was hopeless ignorance and dusty huts) Religious Protestant communities acted for the spiritual needs of the immigrants. Therefore, the city authorities gave the place with the ruins of the church for the construction of the German Lutheran church, which was built in 1906. After the Second World War, the German colonists of Volhynia were evicted to the territory of Poland, and the village stood empty. As early as 1951, it was transferred to the Volyn regional state archive. But a storm and a fire caused great damage to the church, and in 1990 it looked like ruins. After the restoration in 1994, the House of the Gospel is here.

Nestled in the heart of Lutsk, Felichita is a charming restaurant that exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere. With its light-toned decor, it feels like a home away from home. The menu features an array of beloved European and Italian dishes, including fresh salads, delectable pasta, creamy risotto, and classic desserts such as tiramisu. The service at Felichita is exceptional, provided by a young and enthusiastic team eager to ensure your dining experience is memorable.
The best pizzeria in Lutsk. There are 2 big kids areas, so do not hesitate to take your children with you. Animation is also available for kids. Pizzas are really delicious. But you may wait for your order for about 30 min if there is a full house.

Went here with my girlfriend, amazing pizza, especially the capricciosa. Kind servers and a peaceful atmosphere.

Food Yummy! Have tried 3 different pizzas, the best one, as all my friends have agreed, with porcini and gorgonzola. Baked on wooden logs, balmy, amazing pizza. Fresh and REALLY tasty beer (believe it or not, it's quite rare in Bukovel). Though, there are no small compliments from the restaurant, even light bites to accompany beer. Service Have worked in a fine dining restaurant, I know what is good and not intrusive service. Service there is really decent. Starting from a reservation, when there were no available tables, and I was called back when it has appeared. Don't know about all the waiters, but ours (Stepan) was great. Sequence of service was kept. He followed small requests appropriately, everything was served promptly and courteously. Prices Prices in Bukovel make me a bit crazy - everything is overpriced in this village. It's not the cheapest place, but here you know, what are you paying for. Again, parmesan, porcini and gorgonzola in oven-baked pizza tastes extraordinary, so the prices are fair. Cons If you sit next to the entrance, every time the door is opened, you feel this quite chilly draft (even though there are special curtains). My personal point- I strongly dislike fuzzy kids, and since it's a family restaurant, be prepare to have noisy kids around you. Overall A must-visit place in Bukovel. Book a table in advance, it's usually pretty busy.

Great food, really tasty pizza, fast service and nice staff, cozy atmosphere. What else do you need to make it a great place? I was only disappointed with very high prices and parking availability. Something to work on

Kind and attentive staff, great quality of foods, good prices. Very much recommended, but make sure you reserve a table, because it's not a big restaurant, and it can get busy on weekends.

Warm and cozy place, service is excellent performed by very young personnel. The food is definitely worth coming here over and over again and the price tag is reasonable for Bukovel. The only thing you need to know if you’re visiting it the first time is how to find it. If you’re driving with the car and using Google maps, you won’t find it that easily. You need to turn right past Aparthotel VIP and then look for the parking lot on your left side some 400 meters after the turn. Google will tell you to turn right but there’s no way for cars so you need to park your car on the left in a small lot. Then climb up some 150 meters more right across the lot. You will first see the restaurant “Salo”. Felicita is right after it.

I had an amazing soup with bacon and potatoes, recommended. The place is very clean and quiet. A perfect place for relaxing after an intense sight seeing session.

Perfect service, great setting but you will pay for the privilege. Can't find fault with what is offered only that cheaper can be had nearby. Would be 5 stars but for the pricing. But you have to pay for the location. Great spot to have a rest in the shade /warmth depending on the time of year and to rest the feet. I will be going back on my next visit!

Food is great. But the atmosphere is not relaxed, extreamely loud music plays all the time in the background. When asked to make the music quiet there is no response.
