St. Nicholas Cathedral Church, located in Nikolaev, is a revered Orthodox church with a rich history and stunning architecture. Built in the early 19th century, this classicism-style cathedral features seven domes representing the sacraments. Despite challenges during the 20th century, it remained open for divine services and was eventually restored after the creation of the Nikolaev diocese.

(Translated by Google) The stone St. Nicholas Cathedral Church in Nikolaev was built in 1813 in the style of classicism. Ornaments and paintings from the 19th century have been preserved. Since its consecration, the temple has never been closed for long, even in the midst of the fight against religion. After the creation of the Nikolaev and Ascension diocese, when the city of Nikolaev became the diocesan center, St. Nicholas Church was given the status of a cathedral. The temple was restored, bells appeared on the bell tower. In the southern part of the cathedral, a side altar was built in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Near the northern doors on the outside, a place was built for the blessing of water. Николаев стал епархиальным центром, Свято-Никольскому храму был дан статус собора. Храм был отреставрирован, на колокольне появились колокола. The Museum of Shipbuilding and the Fleet is a fascinating attraction located in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. Housed in an 18th-century classical naval headquarters building known as the Admiralty, it offers a comprehensive journey through the history of the Black Sea Fleet. The museum showcases nearly 3,000 artifacts related to shipbuilding and navigation in the Black Sea, Ukraine's rivers, and the Mediterranean.
A museum with the history of Shipbuilding in Nikolaev, the main activity of the city since its was borne. The replicas of all the ships are incredible for the details. It includes paintings, documents and tools. However, what is incredibly is the different amount of different ships build here over the years. If you wonder in which place the old soviet empire built those war ships and submarines, it was here. Even the city, during the soviet times, was close to tourism because the projects developed here. Sadly, now all those industry is almost out of business. The Museum captures with detal a time now gone.

Horrible experience, 10/10 would come back, i had one of my first aircraft carrier ships built in April 1, 1982, took too long to become operational, 1995, literally almost sank cause of that outdated 1982 materials, we named it after Nikolai Gerasimovich Kuznetsov

In the Admiralty, this Russian Classical building was the seat for a long line of Black Sea Fleet commanders from 1794 to 1900. In 12 rooms there are almost 3,000 objects on shipbuilding and navigation on the Black Sea, Ukraine’s rivers and the Mediterranean. This starts in antiquity and also covers the Kievan Rus in medieval times and the Zaporizhian Cossacks in the early modern age. You’ll see Mykolaiv’s military shipyards at their peak in the 19th century in a massive diorama. The city’s extensive civilian shipbuilding activity in the 21st century is also revealed, at companies like “Shipyard named after 61 Communards”, which has been in business since 1788.

A nice museum with many exhibition halls. You can see the models of different ships, "pieces" of history. Amazing dioramas. I enjoyed the dioramas most of all, especially the one about assembling and molding submarine Maliutka. They also allowed us to ring one of the bells, which our son, who's one year and a half, appreciated))

Do not be discouraged by an empty and uninformative entrance. The knowledgeable and friendly staff, along with the varied exhibits, make this museum a unique and historically significant place. The building itself was repurposed and renovated just eight years ago after being vacant for many years. It showcases artifacts from ancient times to the present day, both locally discovered and gifted to the museum over time.
A very interesting museum. Be sure to take a guided tour. The guides love their land very much and tell interesting stories about it. I also advise you to visit the exhibitions in this museum. They are all created by the enthusiasts of this wonderful city.

Don’t let a plain, not informative, empty entry way to spook you away. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the exhibits are rich and diverse. The building itself is unique and a significant historical value. Repurposed and remodeled only 8 years ago after standing empty for many-many years. From ancient to XX artifacts both founds in a local region and gifted to the museum through out the years. Learn about local history starting from the 1st settlement in ancient times. Skiffs. Greek cities. Crimean, 1st and 2nd World Wars. Local nature and habitat. Modern times. Mykolayiv was a closed city during the Russian Empire times as it was building many war ships, so there are a lot of surprises and new facts you can learn about the city. The exhibits have ENG titles too!

(Translated by Google) While staying in Mykolaiv from October 21 to 24, 2021, they drew attention to the unusual architecture of the cathedral, which stands in the center of the city. As it turned out, this is the Cathedral of the Kashperiv Icon of the Mother of God. It should be noted that this icon was the most revered in Tavria province during the Crimean War. The miraculous Kasperiv icon of the Mother of God was exhibited in Mykolaiv churches every year from 1853 to 1918. The idea to build a cathedral where the icon would be kept forever arose at the beginning of the 20th century. As the minister of the cathedral said, the construction was carried out from 1905 to 1908 according to the project of the architect Fyodor Eppinger under the leadership of the architect Yevgeny Shtukenberg. The temple was opened in 1916. And in the 30s of the last century, the cathedral was turned into a club. But during the war, the service in the cathedral was resumed. From 1949 to 1992, the cathedral was again closed for worship. After it was handed over to the religious community of the city in 1992, the external reconstruction of the cathedral was carried out, which lasted from 1994 to 2004. The only, in my opinion, minus - there are no visual points of perception of the building. No matter how hard he tried, he could not capture the grandeur of the cathedral in the photo. All the time, there were huge trees planted close to the building or other objects built nearby.

(Translated by Google) In 1994 I was inside, at that time in the cultural center, at a cat exhibition. Years later, I witnessed how in the yard they agreed to go to the house to bless the car. I came to the conclusion that faith is salvation for those who sincerely believe. Apparently, the Lord saved the cathedral from shelling, as happened with the hotel and shopping center nearby. One thing is obvious, that the Cathedral of the Kasperovsky Icon of the Mother of God is undoubtedly an architectural decoration of our city (Original) В 1994 г.

(Translated by Google) The cathedral looks very impressive. It is no coincidence that it is one of the most beautiful churches in Nikolaev and is included in the register of architectural monuments of the city. Built from 1904 to 1908. It looks unusual; its walls are decorated with carved details stylized as ancient Russian architecture of the 16th–18th centuries. The main decoration of the temple is its 7 domes. According to Orthodox customs, these domes symbolize the seven sacraments of the church. But, unfortunately, the cathedral belongs to the OCU.

Admiralty Park is a hidden gem that beautifully blends nature with urban life. Once an area plagued by neglect, it has transformed into a well-maintained green space perfect for jogging or leisurely strolls. The park features comfortable benches and a central monument, making it an inviting spot to unwind. While the surroundings are clean and filled with lovely trees, there’s still room for improvement—like adding more amenities such as restrooms and entertainment options for families.

Kaliforniysʹka Respublika Ta Bar Nahori is a vibrant and trendy restaurant and bar that offers an eclectic menu featuring delicious dishes inspired by Asian and Mexican cuisines. The ambiance is a delightful mix, with the downstairs area resembling a laid-back California eatery, while the upstairs transforms into a lively bar complete with upbeat music and a charming terrace.

Nice comfortable restaurant with tasty food. Borsch is delicious. Napoleon cake and honey cake with walnut also very good. Good attentive staff. Will visit again when I'm in Mykolaiv next time.

The atmosphere is quite nice. There is a large space indoors and also outdoors. There are blankets to help you stay warm outside. The pricing seems a little high to me. But it is a nice place to bring company. It seems popular with locals and offers traditional Ukrainian food. Will go again.

1.5 hours of waiting for food is too much.

Where local Ukrainians go, for a authentic taste of Ukrainian food. For tasty, economical, truly Ukrainian cuisine, and also Sushi) - I have always enjoyed this restaurant. Most tourists are not aware of this great place. Large, open street view windows...very congenial staff, and the most tasty Ukrainian food in Nikolaev that you will find - this is where you can enjoy "eating among the locals". One of the local Ukrainians favorite, economical, clean restaurants - a definite place to visit)

Just exellent. You need to eat here. Food is great and prices very affordable. The attention is good and there is a lot of food to choose. The flavors and seasoning is great. the ambientation is beatiful. It has a terrace with a lot of flowers. The only thing that they need to change is: please, use the blender to prepare the "mojitos" in the kitchen, not in the front desk. The noise makes imposible to talk and ruis all the perfection this place has.

Good restaurant. Good food. Service sometimes may be not fast, depending on their workload and a service person. Not cheap as for Mykolaiv, but still reasonable prices. Often visited by foreighners. Some local giests may be misbihaving after drinking too much.
