Market
Christmas Market Bressanone, also known as the Bolzano Christmas Market, is a must-visit in December. It offers an array of awesome food and a nice atmosphere with convenient parking. The market is big enough to spend half a day and even visit the charming city of Meran. Visitors can admire children's drawings made for advent and enjoy the beautiful flowers all around.
Beautiful Christmas markets; the German presence gives it unique charm and taste.

This is an amazing place where to spend hours breathing the Xmas atmosphere and shooting the breeze drinking some vin brulee (mulled wine). At 4 o'clock must wait the opening of the Advent Calendar window... Really a worthwhile experience!

The Diocesan Museum, located in the Hofburg to the southwest, offers a monumental experience with its Baroque-style interior. The cathedral's vaulted nave is adorned with marble and stucco, featuring an expressive altar print by Michelangelo Unterberger. This ancient building also houses the bishop's curia and features well-preserved artifacts from various periods. Visitors can explore beautiful collections, including a unique exhibit on nativity scenes, and admire the picturesque internal church with its frescoed vault.
Nice building, some interesting art. Brixen was ruled by a prince-bishop who resided at the Hofburg. The palace was built in the 13th century, with a Baroque renovation in the 18th century.

Free entry with the Brixen Card to see a lot of religious art and a nice palace. Toilet was very clean. The lady from the ticket store was very kind

I went to the cathedral on the 6th in January 2017. L epifania. They were celebrating this feast with a mass concert written by Charles Gounod. It was the best moment of my holiday. Like being being in heaven. What’s more it was free of charge. People are friendly even though the refuse to talk italian. Loved it.

Festival
The Water Light Festival in Bressanone is a captivating event that transforms the city into a dazzling display of lights and water features for its fifth consecutive year. This enchanting festival invites visitors to follow a blue thread that connects various interactive installations, leading them through both well-known and hidden gems of the city. By day, attendees can explore these artistic creations at Novacella Abbey and Fortezza Fort, where they are encouraged to touch and engage with the exhibits.
It's a nice place.

(Translated by Google) A truly special evening, following the blue thread that led us to discover, one after the other, the interactive installations that illuminate the streets of Bressanone for the 5th year. An original way to discover the city. Like a fun but also sustainable treasure hunt: this year the energy consumption to illuminate the festival has been reduced by 50%. By day, the installations can be visited, touched and tested at Novacella Abbey and Fortezza Fort. I'm already curious to see next year's new installations. I won't miss it!

(Translated by Google) My expectations were very high seeing the photos online. I find it somewhat misleading to include photos from the first years in the 2023 event when the event was certainly worth seeing. Except for 3 or 4 projections on buildings and fairly anonymous and questionable installations (a couple even paid for) I found a deserted, dark and sad place in Bressanone on a Saturday evening (perhaps the sad fame had already reached many, who knows). I thought it was a party, with lots of people, some stands, music and a magical atmosphere, but nothing. I traveled 600 km to see them and there was nothing magical here. It goes without saying that it was absolutely not worth it and that this festival as it was organized is just an artistic exhibition like an exhibition but for me the festival is something else. If these are the premises, it is better not to repeat it in the next few years so as not to find yourself disappointed like me when seeing photos of something that no longer exists. (Original) Le mie aspettative erano molto alte vedendo le foto on line.

(Translated by Google) Moving. A magical experience, you remain like children faced with a magic that you don't understand, but which enchants. Splendid installations, all explained in the brochures found in every hotel, information center and even on the street. A clear and well-marked path (just follow the bright thread, like a thumb with crumbs in short, and that's not to say). Lots of people but the festival takes place in the beautiful Bressanone, so there is space for everyone to stop and admire each work. The only flaw is that I would have the show continue until one o'clock, as three hours are barely enough to see all the installations around the town properly. It will be a fixed stop from now on, also because the installations change from year to year. In love. (Original) Commovente. Innamorata.

When it comes to car rentals, Avis stands out as a reliable choice for travelers seeking convenience and quality. With over 60 years of experience in building strong relationships with suppliers, Avis offers unique savings that you won't find elsewhere online. Customers have shared their positive experiences, highlighting the comfort and modernity of the vehicles provided. Many have been pleasantly surprised by receiving cars that exceeded their expectations, such as newer models like the Toyota CH-R hybrid.
Incredible staff saved us by giving us a replacement vehicle when our rental was towed away and Avis never contacted us to supply another. Such an answer to prayer!

The Avis office is a 25 minutes walk from the train station, even though I took a local bus it took me 20 minutes to reach the place. Note: you cannot buy bus tickets directly on the bus! I rented a small-medium car for approximately 6 days. Ok price. Customers service ok as well. Car was clean, but the windscreen wiper water was not working (I refilled, guess some problem with the pump..). You can return the car by leaving the key in a key box.

We got a car that does not match what we have booked online, and we were under time pressure. I wouldn't book from there again.
Walid B — Google review
Probably the cheapest place to rent a car in that area. The car was better than I booked and expected. Super comfortable and modern. Thank you for the car and the uncomplicated service. The only bad thing I can report is some money they charged me many days after I rent the car from my credit card without any information. Sad that they couldn't provide me the reason for that extra fee. So I need to reduce one star for my rating.

This chic restaurant serves hearty classics of the region's cuisine, including bacon dumpling soup, gnocchi with ragout, and Schlutzkrapfen. Located in Bressanone, this family-run establishment also caters to vegetarians by offering a variety of Italian, German, and Austrian dishes.
This is a review about the suites as well as the restaurant. The suites is simply the best accommodation I have ever stayed at. Top rated in all categories! The restaurant was amazing, with great atmosphere and welcoming staff. The food was exquisite! We ate there almost every day and tried several plates, not one to disappoint! A must for your visit in Brixen!

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in (as an experienced traveler)! Where to start: clean, comfortable, nice interior, great hospitality and friendly staff. The breakfast is superb with local specialties and a la carte dishes. The restaurant offers the most refined local cuisine in the neighborhood. The car park is easy to reach and located very close to the hotel so you don’t need to navigate your car into the historic city center. The spa is equipped with a nice sauna, steam bath, roman bath etc and is well maintained. We found it a real treat after a day of hiking in the mountains. Highly recommend and will return.

A true gem in Brixen. Fink offers a refined take on Tyrolean cuisine—original, thoughtful, and beautifully executed. Every dish felt carefully curated, and the freshness of the vegetables and salad was next-level. The wine list is equally well considered, with excellent local selections. Warm, welcoming service with an impressive level of professionalism. A must-visit if you are in Brixen / Bressanone.
Alejandro B — Google review
A truly exceptional dining experience. Creative compositions made from local ingredients, refined with herbs from the surrounding nature. The bread alone is absolutely mind-blowing. Top notch in every way – and the quality fully justifies the price. We loved it and will definitely be back.

You have to go here if you’re in Brixen! It’s an absolutely fabulous restaurant who deserves a thousand stars. The kitchen is excellent, refined to the fingertip, innovative and still so clean and beautiful. The menu has a generous variety for such high quality food, we loved every bite of our four course menu. My husband got great wine by the glass and the service was excellent. We want to move to Brixen so we can eat here frequently. Thank you thank you thank you for this wonderful experience

Brix 0.1 is situated in a picturesque, natural setting near Brixen, offering sweeping views of a lake. With an air of sophistication and local charm, the owners personally prepare meals for guests. The terrace provides a serene ambiance where one can relax and enjoy the company of passing ducks on the river while children freely play in the nearby park.
We simply loved it. We had 900g of T-Bone steak medium rare with two starters and a bottle of wine and a bottle of water. Service very fast, attentive and knowledgeable. The meat well made and the Winde delicious. The location inside and outside was great! We will come back once we are back in Brixen!

The place is super cool. Just to sit on the blue chairs is not at all comfortable. The appetizer what I have had was tasty accept the white foam. My partner had Paella, this was amazing. The creme brulee had clotted cream and it wasn't tasty at all.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. The food was delicious and of very high quality, and the atmosphere was wonderful. It’s one of our favorite restaurants from our Dolomites trip.
Montakarn K — Google review
Nice location, pleasant surroundings, aircon inside. Food soso, I hope chef can try the tuna tartar that watermelon + marinated tuna generates some bitter taste… other food are standard, nothing special. Service standard, nothing to appraise.
Wenjia Z — Google review
Special Tapas Night was very disappointing. The five of us have ordered a variety of Tapas and except one dish , every single serve was over cooked and toooo salty …to the point the deep fried squid and fried zucchini became ‘un-eatable’ !! In addition, my serve of prawns was completely raw, meaning it was supposed to be cooked and was served totally green ! The red wine was also served way too warm and we ended up to throwing several glasses over the fence in protest. The waitress was very cooperative and has tried to save the evening without success. The bill was also way over the top considering that every shot you get at street food anywhere around world is better than this one.
KRB — Google review
We had a sublime summer lunch at this restaurant. The position by the lido in a park is gorgeous - even better if you have children with you who love playing on the playground and with the fountains while you enjoy a more leisurely meal. We celebrated our daughters birthday here. Reserving by email (in English) was a breeze and super responsive. We got exactly what we requested - a table, on the terrace outdoors, with shade, with a view of the playground. The welcome when we arrived was warm and the food was so exceptional. Kids food came quickly, adults food was appropriately paced, no one rushed us, everyone was exceptionally helpful. Gorgeous, fresh, not-fussy-just-fabulous food came out from a team of immaculate chefs in the wonderful open kitchen inside. You could taste the freshness of the vegetables and herbs, the quality of the meat / fish and everything we as prepared in such a way to compliment this. Best of all was the absolute stand out table service from the two waiters who looked after us, plus the sommelier. It was personal, personable, generous and authentic. A fantastic face on a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. 10/10

The food was alright. Typical local food but nothing extraordinary. I think they are more known for their pizza but we were in the mood for pasta and schnitzel. The service was good though and the atmosphere very cute and heartwarming for a rainy day.

We didn't have a reservation but were seated within 10 mins. The service was good and staff was very nice. The diavola pizza is a must try while Jager was also good. Ankther must try is the tagliatelle with beef goulash, it was really delicious. Although the tiramisu was a bit disappointing with almost no flavor of espresso.

We were lucky to have a table outdoors despite being walk-ins on a nice summer evening. Had a tagliatelle with lamb ragout, and the white tiger pizza (pizza with marinated shrimp). The pizza had a balanced combination of shrimp and cherry tomatoes, the tagliatelle was also delicious with the ragout being the star.

My wife got the risotto while I had a pizza. Both were delicious and the staff were very friendly. The outdoor courtyard is beautiful, despite a bit of noise from the street. One thing to note, not sure if it was just a fluke, but after the sun went down a ton of wasps came out and were bothering people…

This was definitely the best dinner we had in a long time. Actually, we went back the day after because we liked the wine, food and service that much. If you like a amazing white wine, go for the Vorberg Weissburgunder, in terms of food all dishes were amazing, but the steak tartar and venison definitely stood out! We are thankful for the recommendations from our very knowledgeable waiter Finn who served us both nights.

This is the 3rd year we came Here. It was such a dissappointment. The service was poor, not friendly at all. We ordered a main course and there was A SNAIL in the salad.( see picture) I told the waitress, she took my plate, 5 min later I got a New plate, but it was my meat of the first plate. We ordered dessert and coffee, the other years we got cookies with the coffee, now nothing. Don’t eat here, a Nice setting, bit poor service and food is bad and expensive for what you get. We had to pay full price for a Meal with a snail in it!!!! Not even a free coffee to compensate.

Restaurant Apostelstube is a culinary gem where the artistry of fine dining meets an exceptional wine experience. Under the guidance of host and sommelier Michael Falk, guests are treated to an extensive wine list that spans 69 pages, showcasing selections from prestigious regions like South Tyrol, Sicily, and Spain's renowned vineyards.
We happened to read that the hotel where we were staying in Bressanone (Brixen) had a Michelin Star restaurant. We tried to get reservations, but they were booked. (They are only open on weekends, and they only have 4 tables!) We were disappointed, but then delighted the next day when we learned that someone had cancelled. We nabbed it, and we were SO glad that we did. There was a menu that perfectly fit the story of the hotel and its name. We began with a tasting of four appetizers while we were told the story of Soliman, the elephant, who came through Bressanone in the 1500s. Everything was SO delicious! Each course was more amazing than the next. The highlight was a small serving of Japanese wagyu beef. I had heard of it, but never tasted it. It was amazing. Everything was plated beautifully, and we were very entertained by the presentations of each course. This was such an enjoyable experience, and it will be a highlight of our entire trip to northern Italy!

(Translated by Google) A sensational evening from start to finish. A very attentive welcome with an aperitif to start and greetings from the kitchen, with a history of the house. Excellent service throughout the evening with a great wine pairing, which was very suitable for me. The menu was very consistent and of a high standard across all courses. The ingredients couldn't be better, with the highlight being the langoustine. We'll definitely be back. Thank you very much! Vielen Dank !
