Wonderful castle with rich history and, luckily for us, many fun activities. We visited the Castle at the time of the Art Festival, where art workshops for kids were taking place. It was wonderful! At the castle you can see some interesting musical instruments, traditional masks, weapons and so on. We also enjoyed visiting the musum shop, which featured handmade products from local artists. Very worth the visit!

This is a lovely place to explore and to view the city below; it is also home to the one of the two oldest vine plants in the world and both are in Slovenia, this particular one being in the central court yard of the Castle.

If you are histoty nerd and you didnt visit Ptuj castle, you are missing out. The most beautiful castle in the region with spectacular view and museum.

One of the best towers we've ever visited worldwide. Well renovated for tourists to be able to comfortably climb to the top while reading really interesting information about the history etc. The top offers lovely views all around. On top of this, we really enjoyed talking to the gentleman who sold us the tickets and who shared a lot of interesting information as well. This was a truly pleasant visit!

We had the most fabulous time here learning all about the clock tower and local history. Beautiful surroundings throughout the tower and stunning scenery from the top. Andrej was also very informative and spent 15 minutes answering detailed questions about the clock mechanism. would absolutely recommend!!!

I normally don't find thus type of attraction worth my money. This one WAS! The 7 flights went too hard (the last one is steep). The 10ish min video presentation was very well done! I would highly recommend. Going at noon allows you to see the church bell start before ringing. Really cool!! ❤️

Wonderful river for canoeing. Hardly any people. The river is fast so you do not get bored. Before the dam it slows down.

The river Drava is often called the european Amazon. Many rear animal species are living near the river. The water is cristal clear and the temperature is perfect for a swim. I love to paddle in a kayak or boat. When you get hungry you can make a campfire on the many sand beaches and grill some sousages. This river is perfect for geting away from your daily rutines and enjoy in the nature.

Fishing, kayaking, boating everything what you need for fun. If you feel to hot you can swim and take sunbathing on numerous sand beaches

Nice River for Walk🚶or a trip with Bicycle 🚲 The Drau Cycle Path starts in South Tyrol, Italy and goes through Carinthia 🚲😊 The Austrian Railways ÖBB offer a Special Bike Ticket. You could hop on the train if you get tired 😃 Enjoy the nice Nature on the way. There are some Picnic and Barbecue Spots beside the Cycle Path 👍

It is an amazing river for many things. You can ride a boat on it, you can swimm in it. You just need to be careful as with any river and know it's quirks. It's water rises and falls quite quickly and it can be very deep in some places and very shallow in others. Don't swimm there alone or if you aren't a good swimmer!

Drava is beautiful and near Legrad you may find a trails with the interpretation boards allow exploring this natural gem, and admire the breathtaking landscape. Due to the wild looking nature and rough landscape the river Drava is sometimes referred to as the “Croatian Amazon”. There is indeed an impressive wildlife to discover as well.

A beautiful river. Try and find a wild sand beach and enjoy the summer. The sand is super fine. The water is naturaly murky. There is plenty of shade under the Willow trees. Watch out for mosquitoes and horseflies in the summer. In it's panonian part do not expect clear water.

The lake offers beautiful views, nice walking lanes, there's a bar at the shore and few boats at their fishing port. It's not far from the city at all! The only minus is that the water didn't look very inviting, at least not from our dock.

Even though it's an man made lake, it is a fantastic place for hiking (or running). Tip: in the evening it is an excellent spot to take some great photos.

During a road trip through Slovenia, we stumbled upon Gostilna Ribič by chance, and what a delightful discovery it was! Despite not having a reservation, we were warmly welcomed and seated, setting the tone for a memorable evening. We had the privilege of dining during the "Restaurant Week" special, a culinary experience that far exceeded our expectations. I opted for the reserved Amfora Rdeče wine, a truly unique gem. This wine's distinctiveness lies in its aging process in clay amphoras, which imparts a depth and complexity rarely found elsewhere. Its dark ruby color and notes of ripe red fruits paired perfectly with the meal, and the other wines we sampled were equally impressive. The kitchen began with a surprise starter, a delightful blend of flavors that, unfortunately, we didn’t catch the name of, likely due to the distraction of our excitement. We then indulged in the three-course meal, which was a masterpiece from start to finish. I had the scampi and swordfish ravioli, beautifully paired with smoked ham and black caviar—a divine combination. The following dish, grilled cauliflower with duck soup, was simply exquisite. The highlight of my meal was the Black Angus tenderloins, served with sweet potato, beetroot, and garlic paste—a marriage of flavors that was both bold and harmonious. My partner had the Chabot fillet with sautéed chicory and garlic, which she declared one of the finest fish dishes she had ever tasted. To finish, we enjoyed a marvellous twist on the classic Napoleon dessert, with chestnut filling—an indulgent and satisfying end to the evening. Gostilna Ribič is a hidden treasure in Ptuj, easily worthy of Michelin recognition. Every aspect, from the ambiance to the impeccable service and exquisite food, was outstanding. Highly recommended.

We ended up in this restaurant a bit by accident — mostly to escape the cold, but we were also quite hungry. The incredibly friendly and funny waiter recommended a fish, showed us the fresh catch, and suggested a perfect wine to go with it. It turned out to be the best fish I’ve ever had in my life. What a fantastic place!

Came to this fabulous restaurant for lunch today. Best thing to do is make reservations for lunch, as it gets quite busy even on a weekday. Our server was not that fluent in English but did help us with some Slovenian words from the menu. I had the fries with fried chicken, it was so good! One of the best places in Slovenia to have lunch or just a drink. I know it’s not custom to leave a tip for the waiter, but I did. He deserved it. I highly recommend this place. Free wifi, pet friendly, kid friendly and wheelchair accessible.

Excellent fish and exquisite lava cake

We ordered 3 margarita pizzas, desperate for food on a Sunday evening. This made the pizzas good enough to eat. Generally, the crust was flat with little to no flavour. Way too much cheese! The burgers we saw being served while we waited for our take out looked really good though!

The truffle hamburguer was very good but unfortunately the French fries were not crispy they were a bit saggy.

A very warm and cozy place. Hot cocoa was delicius. They also have some vegan options, I chose rice milk. Cocoa with plant milk is also 10 cents cheaper than cocoa with regular milk 🔝

Good service, food was prepared quite quickly. Plenty of seating spaces indoors, parking is on street and paid. Came with family, they were all happy with what they ordered which was a salad with cottage cheese, grilled trout, and grilled calamari. But the dish I ordered: pork with gnocchi was not good. Highly not recommended. Struggled to finish it while the plate was half full. The taste was all the same, gnocchi was fried, it was just carb overload and taste bud fatigue, coming from someone who generally eats anything and can eat oats everyday for breakfast. Personally I would rate 1 star, but given the dishes they had, I would bump the stars up and attribute my experience as a poor dish selection.
