Sights & Landmarks
Fregatten Jylland is a restored wooden warship from 1860, featuring both sail and steam power. It offers exhibitions and events for kids, making it an ideal family destination. The ship is located along a scenic path leading towards the harbor, with summer being the best time to visit despite the windy weather. Visitors can enjoy a bar set up in the area during this season, providing opportunities for community singing and picnics.
This is truly a hidden gem 🥰. Ebeltoft is probably not on most people's route, but this place is easily a match for other great European museum ships, such as the Wasa in Stockholm or Brunel's SS Great Britain in Bristol. The current exhibition, "Ild", gave one a very strong impression, only compounded by the list of the crewmen on board. Even my 20 year old son enjoyed dressing up in a sailor's uniform. I have his permission to post the photo. Getting there is easy, parking is free - I would recommend planning for a visit when it isn't raining 🤪

Excellent museum! Don’t miss the introduction part with great historical context and information. Very wheelchair accessible
Håvard J — Google review
Great experience! Would be interesting for families with kids, young people and seniors. I was there 3 times 😅 two times with family and kids and one with my mom. I enjoyed all three times in a different way Highly recommended Annual card maybe a great saving option ☺️

Beautiful very nicely restored 19th c. Danish warship with great exhibition. There is small museum with a shop at the entrance. The ship's 4 levels are all accessible and you can freely explore on your own. Audio guide is a must as there are almost no explanatory texts on board. Audio guide is freely accesible via QR code in the museum.

Beautiful old ship. The museum building next to the ship is nice but not that much exciting to see. The ship itself is more exciting - really nice to be able to go around the whole ship and explore. A really good visit for 1-2-3h.
Joakim Ö — Google review
This is a fantastic attraction with a lot of history. For old and young this is a good place to spend some hours if you’re in Ebeltoft. During these times it is also safe to walk on the ship 🚢 as everything is one way streets. There are a lot of good stories from the past to be told here.
Ulrik J — Google review
Well worth admission fee. We only had a few hours to spend here before we had a flight to catch. It’s defiantly a full day visit to see it all.
Drybs84 — Google review
Well worth spending some hours here - the frigate can be explored at all deck levels and from the bottom of the dry dock - and there is an excellent museum that explains the context of the transition from sail to steam in the C19th and the particular part played by 'Jylland' in the Danish/Prussian war.

Museums
Glasmuseet Ebeltoft is a must-visit attraction in Ebeltoft, offering an impressive collection of modern international glass art. With over 1,500 works from artists around the world, the museum showcases various uses, formats, perspectives, and techniques of glass. Visitors can explore multiple exhibitions alongside a remarkable permanent collection. The friendly staff provides insightful explanations and curations to enhance the experience.
Amazing talent is on display. We loved it. Especially enjoyed watching the artist on site create right in front of us. The waterfront is right there and local restaurants are nearby, too.
Lori H — Google review
I think the adults enjoyed it more than the kids, which is to be expected with small kids. The kids found most interesting the blowing of hot glass into a shape which happened outside of the main building. The glass room that gives the illusion that you could fall down was hilarious with my kids. Overall a nice time there.
Deni B — Google review
Really beautiful museum! We would have loved to see more! Also really like the chance to come in for the week after the tickets purchase. The shop was a little bit expensive. But all in all, we want to see more beautiful glass!!!
Julia S — Google review
Very nice museum with a small collection of glass art. The main attraction for families is the workshop where you can watch artists working on various designs. Also, there are daily workproducts that children can produce (with assistance from the artists). Definitely worth a visit.
Morten S — Google review
Definitely worth a visit! :)
Andrea K — Google review
I kept an open mind about art but this was just not a fun exhibit. One of the best exhibits you probably wil not see, only if you have to go to the toilet is the toilet on the first floor. Really it has the coolest art and decorations! For kids its kinda fun you can make mozaik on the first floor and in the loft but thats not worth the entrance money. I gave it two stars and thats because of the two stars (workers) in the glass working shop. They explained and showed us how to make glass into beautifull art works. They were friendly and great at explaining. This is the only reason to get in here. The other best exhibit is the shop, its the glass works they made at the museum its beautifull! Really if the museum would be filled with their art I would come back!
Justin — Google review
Small expert museum worth visiting. Friendly staff and service, central location with free parking. Couple of exhibitions at a time, not forgetting their permanent collection that is amazing. Exhibitions showcase glass in so many different uses, formats, perspectives and techniques- curating and ”explanations” make it easier to digest. Upstairs/attic room video shows the various tehcniques and makes the pieces seen more understandable as well, so, highly recommended!
Sini S — Google review
I very nice experience at this museum even though it looks more like an art gallery. Nice works of glas and a big variety on the glass shop. I had the chance to see the Master of glass work there so it made my journey to Danmark complete. Garden was also a part of the exhibition but it wasn't that "inviting" to sit or enjoy the weathe because of the very well cared grass and the artwork fount in it. Very friendly staff and you noticed that they enjoy what they do. Restaurant didn't have nothing special to stay or sit there even though the service was nice.

Zoo
Ree Park Safari is a captivating family safari park that sprawls across 125 acres of picturesque countryside, offering an incredible opportunity to observe majestic animals like lions, giraffes, cheetahs, and black rhinos in their naturalistic habitats. Beyond the thrilling wildlife encounters, visitors can indulge in a unique dining experience with various options available when hunger strikes during your adventure.
In the sunny day, this is place to see near Aarhus. It is Safari style zoo that, beside few minor incidents, takes care of it’s animals. As far as I conceptualize the situation it seems like good place for students to come and work as rangers in the park.
Deni M — Google review
Really nice zoo, with some animals we didn’t know existed until we saw them like their super adorable Sandcat! 😻 The enclosures are really big and super nice looking, perfect for the animals! Would definitely recommend booking the Land Rover Safari and the American Express to get super close to the animals.
Rikke J — Google review
Came here with the 13-years old handicap son for a good experience but got one of the worst ever. We have been in couple of zoos here in Denmark and everywhere my son, sitting in wheelchair, could see every animal. In the Ree park it was not possible. Cause of the big fence. When you are standing - it’s no problem, but my son can’t stand. Couldn’t they do some special places in that big fence that he could see anything? There was only two areas with such a possibility that we have been - bear’s and wolf’s area. When we talked with their manager Kristian about that he told us “Well, of course we have some limits for handicap people”. But we paid for my son the full price for ticket with no limits. If we paid full price for his ticket why he has limits when others don’t? Ree park is not handicap friendly zoo. 700 krona for tickets - just wasting money.
Дарина Г — Google review
Lots of animals! Also lots of people. The park does a good job of seperating people into different paths so it never felt too crowded. Longest wait we had was getting into the park, but a cute peacock was walkikg around next to us and kept us entertained. I loved the information points, especially the ones with moving parts. We definitely had a fun trip!
Antsu H — Google review
The landscape is really beautiful, hilly and nice, especially the elevated wooden paths. That said, many animals are very difficult to see, I got to see around half of them. The design and the maps are very confusing and getting around is chaotic. Getting a coffee is an impossible mission. And if you get to be lucky and find one, it takes 25 minutes of queue to finally get it in your hands because the coffee machine is of very low quality and very old. Very little offer of food. They should have more play and interactive areas for kids. The only available activities (a train, a land rover trip, etc) are all to be paid in top, and very expensive. Those should either be free, or at a way more reasonable price.
D. — Google review
Amazing park, a lot of space for the animals. Very quiet during our Dutch holidays end of April. Can highly recommend to visit this park when in the neighborhood.

The site also provides engaging activities such as informative films about its history and treasure hunts for kids.
Very beautiful cultural hub, with different performances. Very rich history and is a great place for kids. The kids should definitely try the most exciting book borrowing machine. The view on the roof is great as well.

What an intriguing old industrial building this is. Love the unfinished nature of the restoration and the relaxed atmosphere in this community space. Climb up to the base of the chimney was well worth it and historical film is fascinating.

Restaurant Mellem Jyder is a place in Ebeltoft that offers delicious traditional Danish cuisine. They serve dishes like Wiener schnitzel of veal and young chicken breast with daily potatoes, green salad, and garlic butter. The restaurant is known for its high-quality food and is located at S. A. Jensen Vej 4, 8400 Ebeltoft.
We had a very lovely visit. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was cozy, and the staff was friendly. The restaurant is highly recommended.

The best service I had in Denmark despite the waiter being very young. He was so energetic, polite, and quick! Cute little outdoor terrace to enjoy in the sunny weather. Food is fine, nothing special but a little bit expensive.
Alexis — Google review
Great food value for money and lovely atmosphere. The wine may seem a bit pricy compared to the food considering they do not provide a wine card or disclose wine price unless you ask, and their beer selection is unfortunately only Carlsberg, Tuborg classic and an alcohol free Royal.
Morten G — Google review
It’s a good local dining experience. The interior is kept at its unaltered since the 1900s. The food is good too, there was only 1 serving waiter when I was there but they still accept me and my family although we came a little close to closing time. Their scallop is well made on pea purée, their daily fish special is also fresh and delicious, their tenderloin was cooked perfectly with the best fries I have ever tried. Overall a good dining experience 10/10

Nice Danish food. Outside really bad service by a young lady for the tourists. Locals got better service. Waited very long for food and got wrong order for drinks and dessert. She was not friendly, although the male server had good service in the beginning..
Glenn G — Google review
Great atmosphere and very nice outdoor seating area. Great selection of dishes. I didn't try the burger as I wanted to try something local, but I saw the burger from other tables and it also looked quite good. Nice local beers also. The inside of the place is quite interesting also. Will definitely be back! Update Sept-2022: I went back and tried the burger, it was very good! Crispy fried, juicy meat. We sat outside, very cosy and relaxing.

This was a 10/10 in it‘s purest sense of meaning. The restaurant‘s interieur is a nostalgic daydream while the food itself is nothing but to die for. In recent years, the hotel has undergone further renovations and expansion with Molskroen Strandhotel. The restaurant offers complimentary breakfast and features a terrace overlooking a beautiful garden.
Er enjoyed staying here for a weeding. The rooms were large and with a small garden. The was great and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet a lot as well well. There are plenty of green areas and garden games that can be used. Amazing view of the sea

It's a quaint little inn. Very old, it has been well maintained and is clean. We got a junior suite of some sort, however we noted the set up is actually for a family room, and frankly - a little strange. Due to the age of the place, the bathroom was downstairs while the sleeping area was upstairs. Just noting it here so that it will be expected. Bed was very comfy. The restaurant has great quality food. And if you dont stay there, dining at the restaurant is certainly warranted. Breakfast was left to be desired, as although whatever there was good, we did feel there could have been a little more variety. On one day there were no fruits. Cereal is not available, only one type of cheese, the only hot items are eggs and sausages... Basically, a little more would go a long way. On one day, it was also set up late. The afternoon tea was great! Dinner was good. We had 9 courses. The gap between each course was rather long, so we ended up dining for almost 5 hours. Which, to be honest, was a little much, considering the structure of the meal. There were, at times, more than 20mins between courses. Our server, Matthias, was excellent. He was very attuned to the slighted changes in nuances at our table and anticipated needs fabulously. He also noted that I didnt speak Danish, and always ensured he conversed in English, as well as prepared an English menu for me. Perhaps would not be able to say the same for the gentleman in charge of the particular evening who seemed reluctant to approach when my partner motioned to him. However, that certainly didn't dampen the overall experience, as all the other staff in the evening were exceptionally courteous. Overall, it was good, and service was friendly. But the smalls kinks in each area unfortunately doesnt allow for a full 5 stars. Nevertheless, good experience and will return if in the area. Thank you Matthias and happy first year anniversary with the hotel.

Update 2025: we enjoyed the signature dinner menu with pairings and it was delightful. Each course was beautiful and tasted amazing. The portions and timing were also ideal because I left the table feeling satisfied but not over-stuffed. Service was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We sat in the sun room which gave us an opportunity to watch the colors change over the sea and ebeltoft. I can also say it was a very cozy and beautiful room and so it was easy to enjoy my meal and talk at a comfortable level. I recommend it ❤️ We ate at the restaurant for the 3 course with wine pairings this week. The service was friendly, the ambiance perfect, and the food of top quality. I would recommend to eat here without reservation. I have also hosted a large party here with perfect planning, hosting, and dining experience.

Nestled in the charming town of Ebeltoft, Denmark, Manzana Tapas Bar invites you to indulge in a delightful culinary experience inspired by Spanish cuisine. This cozy eatery is perfect for those looking to savor a variety of tapas that showcase vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients. The inviting atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for both casual gatherings and special occasions.
We visited this restaurant with 6 adults and 5 children for lunch. The chef prepared the most exquisite food for both children an adults. Every dish was super and the own made bread was adding the extra value. This cuisine would be a big competitor in the best tapas restaurants in Spain. This is a hidden jewel!

This must be the best restaurant in the area! Fun and very friendly owner, rarely had a better service. We came late, they were so friendly to open up the kitchen again. And still, we got the most amazing food, one dish better than the other, beautiful explanations of the food by the owner, perfect wine and sherry matches. A must when eating in Ebeltoft. Nice atmosphere, good vibe. We will come back!

Keep up the down to earth vibe and up in the air, heavenly delicious good food. It's so nice too be able to talk with the owner of the restaurant and feel their passion for people, food and being present. Sometimes good ratings are actually a sign of good work being done, and yes, they do deserve a good rating. Thank you Manzana Tapas Bar for a good evening.

This is an authentic tapas bar that serves delicious food prepared with care using high quality ingredients; you can taste that. I love that they stay true to concept and do not try to fit in the standard Danish restaurant kitchens predictaple dishes; this place is honest to the concept and their own style. The service was great and we were treated with warmth and care. The only place for improvement is the acustics: With a large group of friends dining a few tables away the noice level made it almost impossible to have a conversation. May I suggest some sound dampening deco? Highly recommend this place.

Kjøbstaden, located on Djursland in Jutland, is a popular holiday destination in Denmark. The town is characterized by its charming old half-timbered houses and narrow cobbled streets, reflecting its rich history. In the heart of Kjøbstaden, visitors can explore a variety of cafes, restaurants, shops, and attractions. Visiting Denmark from Malaysia and found this restaurant while exploring around Ebeltoft. We ordered the mussels and it was amazing. Huge serving and simply delicious. The order was served with fries and aioli and it was the best fries I have ever had, aioli tastes homemade which was great. Service was great, friendly and comfortable. Overall a great experience for us. Will definitely return to try more from the menu.

We visited the location with our dog, so we had to sit outside and were the only ones there. So i can not say anything regarding the location on the inside and if the service is better than outside. The food was very good but it took like 20 minutes until we could order our drinks and food. After 1 hour and 15 minutes we got our food and it was very delicious. Maybe the service in denmark is always slow and chill? Maybe someone can answer me this and i can correct the review.

Super helpful staff! We needed to get in with a wheelchair and they went out of their way to help us: so kind. Hats off to them. Also a great and cosy restaurant. The staff were extremely busy but also very effective, friendly and full of patience. Can't fault this place. Food was plenty and nice beer. Creme brullee was excellent. We would certainly come back. The cobbles outside are a bit hard for the wheelchair.

It's not often I say this, but this place deserves a great round of applause! The owner was sweet, funny and "down to earth". Supreme place to eat and hang out!

4 adults and 2 kids came to eat. We ordered two burgers, two steaks and chicken nuggets for the kids. Nuggets: real homemade nuggets. Not this factory produced crap you get elsewhere. The kids loved them. Burgers: home made, and they probably minced the meat themself. Juicy and flavorful. Best burgers we've har 5/5. Garments 5/5. Steaks: I ate it using a butter knife. Bernaise was creamy and fresh. Crispy chips. Garment was also good. 5/5. Would absolutely go back.

I had my birthday there with all of my family and a family friend. We had a really great time. The waiter who is also the owner made sure that we had everything we needed. He took the time for a conversation and making jokes and giving anekdotes. He explaned some things on the menu. The food was very good and you could tell it was prepared with so much love and soul. We stayed there for over 4 hours and nobody was rushing. If you ever visit the great country of Denmark then visit Ebeltoft and make very sure that you visit this great restaurant. I 100% will know that you have the time of your life. Thank you for a great dinner.

The food was delicious. The place was clean , including the toilets. Staff were helpful and attentive. Outside was well set out, and the shade from the trees lended itself to a fresh and dappled light, whilst inside and down stairs with its many old photos , gives vibes of yesteryear.. I will definitely return and would consider holding a party there, if ever an opportunity arises.
