Le Lavandou

Le Lavandou is a seaside resort town and commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. Le Lavandou derives its name either from the flower lavender that is prevalent in the area, or more prosaically from the local form of the Occitan name for lavoir, lavandor. Wikipedia.

Le Sentier Du Littoral is a coastal trail that offers beautiful views and a chance to explore the area's natural beauty. The trail leads along rocky cliffs, providing a relaxing soundtrack of waves crashing against the shore. While it's an easy walk for all ages, it's recommended to wear sensible shoes with firm soles, especially after rain when it can be slippery.
Absolutely nice hiking way through the coast. Relaxing sounds of waves, and of course the view at the see. Can be tricky after rain. I have luck with great weather and sun.

Tricky in parts you need good Balance and good shoes. You get some great coastal views. The two beaches are nice rest stops
Jonathan B — Google review
A beautiful coastal trail, leading along rocky cliffs, not always completely dry-footed. By the way, I highly recommend it as a trail for a short run. It is advisable to have shoes with firm soles, in some places you have to step on sharp rocks.
Ondřej P — Google review
Nice views, kind of wild place, sea, cliffs, and in the end amazing beach.
A Z — Google review
Trail connecting 2 beaches. Sure-footedness required, as this trail is carved out into a stony shore. Gets slippery when it rains.

An absolute must if in Lavendou!!but a word of advice wear sensible shoes, because although the walk is easy for all ages sandels and flip-flops are not great as it can be a little slippery. 😉 but go for it,its worth it ..early morning or evening.

Located in the town, the Eglise St Louis (rue du Port) is a charming church with a Provencal style that was constructed in 1855. This exquisite Catholic place of worship is definitely worth discovering. For those who enjoy taking leisurely strolls, you can retrace the steps of renowned artists who once resided in the St Clair region by exploring the Chemin des Peintres.

Tennis club
Located in Cavaliere, just a 10-minute drive from the center of Lavandou, Smash Club is a restaurant that offers traditional Provencal cuisine with a touch of refinement. The restaurant is situated next to the Lavandou tennis club and features large tents for dining beside a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by palm trees. The gastronomic experience at Smash Club includes a menu priced at 49 euros and promises delicious dishes in an idyllic setting.
We were tried to have a dinner on another place, but it was fully booked and they recommend this one. It was hidden gem in the small town. Magnifique cuisines, very cozy place. Every dish was an endless delight. Highly recommend this place and I would say Michelin star will be well deserved.
Mister L — Google review
We’ve been coming to Smash Club since the very beginning, and it continues to be one of our favorite spots. The atmosphere is truly special — on one hand, it feels like a fairly elegant dining experience, but on the other, you never forget it’s part of a tennis club, so there’s a relaxed and welcoming vibe that makes everyone feel comfortable. The food is fantastic. I love every dish, but especially anything with truffle — the truffle toast is simply divine. The poultry (formerly pigeon) with truffle purée is another highlight — just outstanding. The quality has always been consistently high, and the staff are friendly and make an effort to ensure you have a good time. We had a lovely evening. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to adjust the lighting a bit for a cozier, more atmospheric feel in the evenings. But honestly, this is one of the best restaurants in the area — great food, great service, and very fair prices for the quality. Highly recommended!
KSK L — Google review
Outstanding cuisine and service. Everything was delicious and served really quickly. 6-course meal but it is just the right amount of food. The restaurant is also very cozy and fancy at the same time, especially with the view on the colored pool. Only downside that could be improved would be to change the paper towels and the paper placemats for fabric ones. But then again, congratulations, it was a great moment we spend there.
Jade R — Google review
A few years ago, I had the best meal of my life at this restaurant—and as a foodie, that’s saying something. So when I had the chance to revisit this past August, I was really looking forward to it. I learned there was a new chef, but I still expected a great experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst meals I’ve ever had.
Maria — Google review
Fabulous food with top notch service. Menu changes monthly but our one in September was particularly good. Watermelon soup was unusual and delicious. The host was fantastic and made us feel so welcome and cared for. Highly recommend. Gorgeous surroundings.

Superb food, service and atmosphere Update: Visited again in September 2022 and it’s still amazing! A must visit for the region nom nom. Edit: Visited again 2023 and they still got it!
James Q — Google review
Such a magical experience. Firstly they catered to my allergy of eggs very well! We were served by the manager and he was super attentive, polite and professional. We had a seven course meal which was delicious from start to finish. I especially enjoyed the fish main, the strawberries, sorbet and cider dessert and the mushroom soup in a little cup. At the end of the meal everyone seemed to receive a shot which packed a punch but it was a nice parting gift. The place is tucked away which makes it feels all that more special. I would totally visit again as it was perfect for date night!
Valentina M — Google review
An absolute hidden gem on the "côte d'azur". Don't be fooled by the name or the location. The chef has created an oasis of food and drinks. Perfectly centered around the swimming pool, the food is exquisite, the service perfect and the please intense. From the luxurious olive oil to the last after-dinner drinks, everything is just a delicacy.

Coco Beach - Plage de la Fossette is a picturesque restaurant located in an exceptional setting facing the Levant Islands. With its feet in the water, it offers a taste of Provençal cuisine featuring fresh fish, grilled dishes, seafood platters, lobster pasta, and grilled lobsters. The restaurant's terrace by the sea provides a perfect spot to savor local specialties and bouillabaisse while enjoying stunning views.
Being here on the côte d'Azur for the first time it is a pleasure to discover this place where everyone is kind and helpful 😊 Great coffee and food and a wonderful view!
Raphaëlle B — Google review
Coco beach is a restaurant by the beach. The dinner menu has lots of fish and meat options yet there is no vegan option whatsoever and only one veggie option (a pasta). We shared the lobster and it was fresh and cooked nicely (but pricey). Staff were friendly and polite. Heard they have a different menu for lunch time. Maybe they have more veggie options in that one.
Marilyn — Google review
We love the beach at La Fosette and came to Coco Beach for beach snacks and drinks all the time. This time we came for dinner and the food was absolutely fantastic - especially the Tartare de Dorade as a starter! We will be back for sure!
Anja D — Google review
We were at Coco Beach for dinner, lunch and to use the sun beds for a day. Everything was great. Located on beautiful La Fosette beach. (The sun beds here were a little more expensive than others in the area - but much nicer from the others we saw.)

If you are after a great dining experience right on the beach close to the centre of Le Lavandou, don't look any further....but do make a reservation since this venue is understandable quite popular. Direct views over the Mediterranean sea, alfresco dining & cosy ambience. Friendly and efficient service, interesting varied menu and serving one of the best apple desserts we have experienced during our many restaurant visits Definitely a venue we will return to !
Thomas V — Google review
Coco Beach is unique for many reasons! The location at the beach of La Fossette is one of a kind, the interior design amazing and the food is delicious. Since 3 years we always visit Coco Beach when staying in Le Lavandou. The staff is great, very relax people and the service a 10+. Coco Beach is a must visit, trust me! Ps. Don’t forget to buy the t-shirt :)
Floris Z — Google review
So the beach itself is amazing, especially when you come there in the morning before it gets crowded. There's a parking place within 5 min. walking distance from the beach. The ambience is nice and the service is very good. Now I know the problem is not specifically related to this beach resto-bar, but I'm talking about our personal experience. We find it sad to have to pay money to lay on a soft cushion and not to be able to wash of the salty water and the sand. There were people in the restaurant dripping salty water and sand and just sitting there on the same cushions we could've been seated on. It seemed kind of surreal and contradictory to the rest of the experience. You just sit there being sticky and salty. We of course went home and took a shower before returning for lunch, which was really good. So thumbs up for the location, the food and the service. South of France: Showers please!
Ali Y — Google review
Beautiful setting, the waiter is very friendly, though the owner looks a bit stressfull. We ordered tartarre of dorade which is nice, fresh and tastefull also large portions (deserve 4 stars). Then we get our main, ravioli which is a deception (2 stars) boiled supermarket quality, don’t put this on the menu its a shame!! Vegeterian options are very limited. This location has big potential to become a place to be in La fossette, though not during our visit.

We had a nice and relaxed lunch at Le Tam-Tam in Le Lavandou. We arrived around midday in the low season without reservation and while there initially were tables available, the restaurant filled up quickly. I ordered the Tuna Ceviche Salad, which was nice and refreshing, followed by the Prawn Pad Thai, which didn't taste exactly like the original, but was still tasty. The kids menu offered Gnocchi with Tomato sauce, which were well balanced and seasoned. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Went for dinner. The ambience was nice and positive. Service not too fast but it was busy. Great variety of menu items. Food was delicious, we enjoyed the different flavors in the dishes and the cocktails. Recommended.
IMHO — Google review
This restaurant was recommended by several locals. I found the beef and chicken bland and a bit tough, probably just an off night. Food presentation was amazing. Service, expect to see the waiter once, other staff will bring out food making a struggle to get anything more you need. The atmosphere was ok, I prefer non smoking restaurants, and all sections were smoking.

The restaurant specializes in local cuisine, offering grilled fish and lobster cooked over a wood fire, as well as Bouillabaisse and seafood. The bouillabaisse served here is particularly unique, prepared on a wood fire and the rouille is left to infuse for several days.

If you're in the area and have a craving for authentic French fare, Tamari's chez Raymond is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

This is a top place in the area to have a good bouillabaisse. Cooks pick the fish themselves every morning and the fish soup is cooked on wood fire. Portions are large, bouillabaise for two can easily be shared by 4. Excellent fish!
JC Z — Google review
Best bouillabaisse in Provence without a doubt. The restaurant is by the beach of Saint Clair, managed for several decades by Raymond now aged 83, still commanding the cooking. A great variety of fish carefully selected by the chef himself every morning on fish market, served in a soup simmered on wood fire. Fantastic dining experience!
