Tagore Hill is a picturesque hilltop in Ranchi, offering serene walks, picnics, and breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Situated at an altitude of 2140 feet above sea level, it's a popular health and holiday retreat with significant cultural and religious importance. The hill is home to the Shiva Temple and is associated with revered pilgrimage during Shravanmas.
I was also under the impression that Tagore hill is named after Ravindranath Tagore but no it’s named after Jyotirindranath Tagore. You can read about the same in one of the images posted. This place is beautiful, you can come here to relax.
Manish S — Google review
A very calming.... Relaxing.... Place.... Going here feel like you are getting freedom from all the anxiety mental tension........ A very comforting vibes of the place....... Specifically for the fitness freak person.... And the some type place where you can do yoga.. Exercise peaceful place
Nazia P — Google review
Beautiful spot with amazing views and a peaceful vibe perfect for morning walks or just relaxing away from the city. The hill offers a refreshing escape and some great photo opportunities. However, the infrastructure could use some improvement, and safety is a concern in certain areas, especially near edges and steep paths. With a little more maintenance and security, this place could easily be a full 5-star experience.
Siddhesh K — Google review
The name Tagore comes from " Tagore Family of Kolkata. From here you will enjoy the view Of Ranchi city. But the place is not clean, you don't need any ticket to visit here. Probably this is one of the best place for spending quality time with your favourite one at the afternoon. The authority should clean this place regularly.

I am glad that I visit such beautiful place but why I give 3 star because of hygiene environment cleaniness if govt person watching the rating I am attaching some photos please make it clean and make ur city beautiful rest of things u can see ur self by visiting

Too dirty fr but scenery is nice, ngl people are doing real bad stuff in the coroners, stay away from it I'd say. (No ticket needed+20rs parking charge)

This is where Jatindranath Tagore (Rabindranath Tagore's elder brother) stayed after his wife expired. Rabindranath Tagore used to come here to stay here as well. There are a lot of stairs you need to climb so its not suitable for elderly person. It gives a panoramic view of the city. It is located in quite an uptown place in Ranchi. Its a must visit place. The stairs to the hill top are not in good condition and needs maintenance.

Ranchi Lake, situated at an elevation of 2140 feet above sea level, is a man-made city lake built in 1842 by Colonel Onsley. It features a towering statue of Swami Vivekananda and is surrounded by lush greenery, making it an ideal spot for a romantic picnic. The picturesque setting at the base of Ranchi hills offers boating facilities and the opportunity to observe various bird species.
Good for walking at morning or evening, nature's aesthetic is unmatched

It is a very good place, it is in the middle of the city. It is in the middle of the city and there is a great place to work around the lake and in the middle of the lake, a statue of AK Swami Vivekananda has been built which is very beautiful to see.
Suraj O — Google review
Lake is filthy as the sewer is draining inside it. In evening time it is spot of chhapris passing their time. Nothing much to see. Only go if you have nowhere else to go.
Kshitij S — Google review
I was there in one evening. The place is good, but can be best. No ticket is required. And open for 24 hrs. I have seen some day pictures before I went there. But I think evening is the better time to go there. If you will go there by car, lots of free parking place beside the lake.
Sayantan S — Google review
Ranchi Lake is a nice, central spot for a relaxed outing, especially in the evening. Located at the base of Ranchi Hill, it's known for its peaceful atmosphere and the large statue of Swami Vivekananda in the middle of the water. You can enjoy a leisurely boat ride or just take a walk along the perimeter. The view of the sunset is particularly beautiful from here, and the lights reflecting on the water at night are a nice sight. It can get a little crowded, and some visitors mention that the cleanliness could be improved. However, it's a popular and easily accessible place for locals and tourists to unwind and escape the city's noise. The area also has food stalls and places to sit, making it a decent spot for a casual visit.
Aryan — Google review
Ranchi Lake is one of the favorite hangout spots for locals. Many people from nearby areas come here in the morning for walks or in the evening to relax by the water. Boating is also available and kids enjoy it a lot. The cool breeze and peaceful view make it a nice place to spend time with family and friends. On weekends it gets a bit crowded, but the atmosphere is still enjoyable. It’s a simple yet special place for people living in Ranchi to refresh their mind.

Located at the base of the majestic Ranchi hill, this lake was constructed in the year 1842 by a British National Colonel Onsely. It is centrally located and has boating facilities. Being well-maintained by the authorities, this is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed evening and is ideal for picnics. The Ranchi hill itself is a popular tourist destination, it also has a Shiv Mandir at its top and one can get a panoramic view of the entire city from there.

It is one of my favourite😍 Place in Ranchi. A place which allows you to meet yourself in all alone 😌.Best place for jogging or spending peaceful time. Now it is almost completed .Once it will complete totally , it will be more beautiful and it will attract more visitors. Only thing I don't like about Ranchi Lake that drainage water falls in it which makes the water of Ranchi Lake impure and dirty. So,the water of the lake must be cleaned in regular intervals.

It's a nice place with majestic spiritual essence. Located at a distance of 4.5-5kms from Ranchi Railway Station. A Temple of Lord Shiva at the top of the Hill, also known as Pahari Baba. There are several steps to reach to the top. It's easy for young ones but tough for the elder peoples to go there. You can have a scenic view of the Town Ranchi from the top of the hill. Please do visit.

Pahari Mandir offers a meaningful blend of spiritual reverence, historical importance, and scenic beauty. The ascent might be challenging for some, but the view—and the atmosphere—make it worth the effort. Just be aware of limited amenities at the top and consider visiting off-peak hours for a more relaxed experience.

You will get a very beautiful city view from here. You will get the most beautiful city view of the whole of Ranchi from this temple. If you don't believe it, then you can go here and see it. This is a very beautiful temple. When you climb up it, when you go above the stairs, you will see a very beautiful and very good view.

Nestled in the heart of Ranchi, The Great Kebab Factory is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic kebabs. This culinary gem offers a unique dining experience where traditional tribal cooking methods are employed to create mouthwatering dishes. One standout item is the bhuna Murga, which is slow-cooked under aromatic leaves for hours, infusing it with rich flavors that transport you straight to the roots of Indian cuisine.
If you are a kebab lover and wish to enjoy having fine dining then this is a go to restaurant. Lots of varieties, my favourite has been their Galouti kebab, it's so tender that it feels like it just melted in your mouth without even chewing.

Well! For experience its a nice place to visit but for food you can do a lot better. It's a good place for those who wanna experience lavish hospitality. The ambiance of the restaurant is good, it was a bit too sharp for me but its what you get in living in Ranchi. They will serve you a number of dishes among which only a few will taste good other than that it will either be bland or tasteless. Certainly, people don't actually go to this place to eat but its a restaurant after all. Don't take the paan they offer at the end you will thank me later.

Although not a pocket friendly kebab corner but....i can spend all my money if i get the kebabs like here anywhere. Yellow Sapphire is a stylish restaurant located in the heart of Ranchi, offering a welcoming atmosphere and flawless service. The menu features a variety of international cuisines, including North Indian, Continental, and European dishes. The restaurant is known for its exquisite food selection and lunch buffet, which includes specialties like hot cheesy dumplings. With contemporary decor and swift service, Yellow Sapphire has introduced European-styled dishes to the city. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing a great dining experience for visitors.
The Paneer Kadhai was tasty. Manchow soup didn’t quite meet expectations. Service was excellent, and you really feel valued. The ambiance is charming, making it a nice place to dine in Ranchi overall.
Abhijeet S — Google review
The ambience of the restaurant is quite pleasant and the staff service is polite and attentive, which initially created a positive impression. However, the food itself was very disappointing. The flavors lacked depth and overall quality, which overshadowed the otherwise nice setting. In particular, I had ordered a hot chocolate, expecting something rich and comforting. Instead, what I received tasted exactly like a thin Bournvita drink — watery, bland, and far from what a proper hot chocolate should be. When I pointed this out, the staff simply responded by saying, “This is how we serve it here,” which was quite disheartening. It felt dismissive rather than an attempt to understand or improve the customer’s experience. No matter how good the ambience or service is, the heart of any restaurant is its food and drinks. Sadly, this was the weakest part of my visit. Unless the quality and authenticity of the dishes improve, I don’t see myself recommending this place to others.
Shruti R — Google review
I would break down my review in sections: Occasion: Mother's Bday Atmosphere: Since the last visit the atmosphere has changed they have adapted to 'yellow lighting' to my taste it's too much yellow lighting. 3.5/5 Service: the staff, the server is one of the very fine ends, they treat you well and are ready to serve in an instant. 5/5 Food: now coming to the main part, I think when there weren't many fancier places in Ranchi this was one of the spots but I guess they are not keeping up. We started with some Starters: (Very well done) 1. Murg malai chaap: feeling was great it was not dry to taste. 5/5. 2. Jheenga something: Tandoori prawn they were well done with coriander chutney. 5/5. Main Course: (Huge disappointment) We ordered: 1. Mutton Rogan Josh: I believe, the chef either doesn't know the dish or they think customers won't know the difference. Problem : Rohan Josh gravy usually is red in color it comes from the ingredient 'ratant jot' and it's on the little spicy side, it was nothing per my expectation. Taste: The pieces were four and they were soft and good but the gravy is something not something you would crave again. Argument: Onna and moti Mahal and Kareem's original there mutton's dishes I have been ordering and dinning they are something to look forward to, they got that taste and zing. 2. Chicken dum biryani: A Joke at best. Discussion: I asked the server clearly is this hyderbadi style, he mentioned 'not' I was okay but he said it will dum for sure. Portion: too little. Taste: Rice didn't have any aroma or the flavours. The chicken pieces were two, didn't get any taste, more towards simple and blend. Ate with mutton gravy to get some feel. Raita: not of biryani for sure, too thick, biryani raitas are little on thinner texture. Salan: didn't care to even try. Argument: Lived in hyd for 2 years I know what I am asking, even the worst ones there are better than here. Learn from biryani by kilo, taste their biryanis they are from hyd. Outlet now in Ranchi, try to mimic their taste and then innovate on top of it. Drinks: Ballentine 12 years and black dog. Served as per my liking on the rocks and they were good and fine. Point to Note: I don't like when plates and glasses are kept in front of dining tables, it ruins the vibe. That can be improved. As their food are on pricey end they should focus a lot on dishes. Keep it small but excellent or keep everything to the finest. Overall: Will try again this place again but with not enthusiasm.

A nice old restaurant in the heart of Ranchi, staff was polite and very professional. Classy crowd and good location. The salad was good with sweet apples but the chicken even though cooked in a sauce was a bit tough for me. Still it’s a place I’d like to come to again if I’m in Ranchi.

Such a nice restaurant. Yellow Sapphire is basically part of Hotel Capitol Hills. It is on 3rd fllor of thi hotel. There s varieties of Menu in Veg and Non Veg Items. Buffet Lunch also available here with price of 600/- rs per person including taxes. And there is varieties of menu in it. Simple and Silence place. A normal ambience. The tase of food is also very good. I am happy to visit here.

I went to yellow sapphire recently and ordered a simple chicken burger. First they made me wait for 45 minutes and gave me a veg burger then I told them to change it so they got a chicken burger with frozen onion rings and there was no taste of chicken, it felt like i was eating minced paneer. Horrible Experience, I do not suggest eating here.

My overall experience till date is good, I've been here many a times, as it is located at center of ranchi city. Ambience, food, service and all staff are good. It's quite affordable according to its overwhelming taste. If any want to visit this place, for any of your meal, I'll surely recommend. First time im highly disappointed by Angithi’s service. We ordered for Chicken angithi special soup, and look what they packed red colour chicken soup mixed with tomato ketchup with too much of salt. When we called and made a complaint, they gave very lame excuse. This act is very pathetic and horrible. 👎

Visited Angithi today and had a wonderful experience! The coffee was absolutely amazing — rich in flavor and perfectly brewed. The ambiance inside was cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to relax. What added to the charm was the touch of greenery outside the restaurant, creating a refreshing vibe. Also, a big plus — ample parking space available, which made things super convenient. Highly recommend for a quick coffee break or a peaceful hangout! ☕🌿✨

If you love chicken , this is the place to go. It's a hidden gem. Their tandoori items and the assorted breads are amongst the best in the city.

South Indian restaurant
Krsna Restaurant & Catering is a well-established vegetarian restaurant in Ranchi, Jharkhand, offering a diverse menu that includes traditional Indian dishes, pizza, and Chinese options. It has earned a reputation for its warm and humble service and is known as one of the oldest restaurants in the area. The restaurant's specialities include South Indian cuisine, with its thali being particularly popular.
The hype is for real. You have to visit it for the experience. In a world of fine dine restaurant, this one stands with the traditional, typical family restaurant with affordable pricing. Being in business for so many years, now they feel old, with the same old design of the place but it serves major nostalgia of many people in the town.

Located on JEL church on main road. A very attractive and well maintained restaurant having a pleasant service. The food taste need a little improvement. Price is very much justified. All type of payment service are available. Inside there are huge space so that one can get seat at busy hours also.

Thank you for your incredible warmth, grace, and impeccable service. You’re not just staff—you are the heart and soul of the restaurant. I don’t usually write reviews, but the outstanding hospitality I experienced made it impossible not to. A special mention to the host who saw us off with such kindness and a genuine smile—it was a small gesture, but it left a lasting impression and perfectly wrapped up an already wonderful visit. Please make sure the entire service team is recognized for their dedication. You all truly went above and beyond.

There isn't much rush in this place, and it's located at a very prime location in the ground floor of Church Complex. The place is very cozy and convenient for dining with family and friends. It is also the best alternative for Kaveri (due to rush) and the taste is very much similar to that of the Kaveri Restraunt. South Indian cuisine is a must try💯

North Indian restaurant
The Kav's Restaurant is a popular dining spot in Ranchi, offering a diverse menu featuring Indian, Chinese, and Continental dishes. The restaurant prides itself on its delicious cuisine and attentive staff. From simple yet flavorful options like Egg Devil Chop to aromatic Paneer Hariyali Tikka, the menu caters to various tastes. With a family-friendly atmosphere and outdoor seating, it provides a pleasant setting for enjoying meals.
The atmosphere is extremely good, the service is also legit and the food was like heaven. I suggest this the best places for big events such as promotion, farewell, birthdays and wedding (anniversaries). This also has their own speaker system so that you don’t need a special person for Musial setup and all. Definitely suggested.

Serves cockroach with food. Ordered American Chopsuey via Swiggy and received stale expired noodles along with cockroach in the gravy. Pathetic experience. Noticed the cockroach after eating half of the dish. Will file a consumer lawsuit soon.

I recently ordered takeaway from The Kav's Restaurant on Harmu Road, Ranchi, and had a great experience. The aloo tikki chaat was a delightful mix of flavors and textures, with the right amount of tanginess and spice. The crispy honey chili potato was deliciously sweet and crunchy, making for a perfect appetizer. The highlight was the butter chicken, which was rich, creamy, and paired beautifully with the soft tandoori roti. I would give it 4 stars for the quality of food and the satisfying experience.

Food quality has deteriorated quite a bit. We have to throw away most of the food. Will never recommend this ever. Peers are far better. Avoid this place. Google rating has. Already deteriorated from 4.4 to 4.0 and is expected to be 3 or 2 in the coming few months.

Ordered Thali three times in May 2024 on various occasions. On all three occasions, the Dahi Vada was stale, stinking, and in very bad condition. This photo is from my third order this month. It cannot just be a coincidence or bad luck that the Dahi Vada was stale all three times. Everything else is great, but please don't fool around with your loyal customers. There are many restaurants in Harmu, but I still prefer yours. Please work on this.

Went here with family and had a good time. Food was tasty and well-prepared, and the service was friendly and quick. Overall, a nice place for a relaxed meal — nothing fancy, but definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.
