Shree Datta Snacks Expressway is an essential pit stop for travelers seeking a taste of authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. Nestled within the Food Mall, this eatery serves up a delightful array of traditional snacks that are sure to satisfy your cravings. From their light and flavorful Poha topped with crunchy farsan to the iconic Vada Pav featuring a crispy vada paired with soft pav and zesty chutney, every bite is a celebration of local flavors.
This place brings back so many memories. Ever since I was a kid, every highway trip meant one stop Shree Datta for their legendary vada paav. It’s just tradition now. The taste hasn’t changed one bit crispy vada, soft pav, that spicy chutney... unbeatable. No matter how many new places pop up, nothing hits like this. It’s not just about the food, it’s the feeling. A must-stop if you’re passing by.

The food is delicious and has quite large collection of dishes. We ordered Masala Dosa, Kothimbir vade, Puri Bhaji, Sabudana Khichdi, and Orange Juice. Everything was yummy, nothing to say. The service is a bit slow. The restaurant is quite a busy place, moreover, it is not very comfortable as it is quite cheap compared to others. Will surely visit still as the cuisine is mouth watering.
Atul S — Google review
Fav place to go for breakfast when going to Mumbai. Tried their combo this time. You get poha, upma, sabudana khichdi, one vada pav, 4 pieces of kothimbir wadi and one tea in 160 rs in a combo order which is enough for a good breakfast for one person. The order should be placed when making payment and there can be a wait of 10-15 minutes until the order is delivered. There is a common seating area.
Gaurav S — Google review
Good fast food option for traditional snacks like Vada pao, Poha, kothimbir vadi, sabudana Vada and khichdi etc followed by masala chai. Sometimes queues are longer and waiting time is there as compared to other stores.
Sudershan G — Google review
Lovely snacks destination on your long journey break. Well maintained hygiene standards. The only drawback is the long queue....obviously because of the scrumptious 😋 food. Even with such high demand the quality is maintained.
Anuradha B — Google review
You should really take a break while travelling to Mumbai from Pune on the food court and have the sabudana vada and vada pav. Try it and thank me later!
Venkatesh B — Google review
Shree Datta Snacks remains one of the more reliable and beloved highway snack joints on the Pune–Mumbai route. Its strength lies in authentic Maharashtrian flavors, good pricing, and convenience for travelers. Recent changes or expansions have brought some trade-offs: while infrastructure (seating, space, washrooms) may have improved, some loyal customers feel the taste or consistency has dropped slightly. If you stop there, avoid peak crowd times if possible, and try the signature items (Vada Pav, Misal) early — they tend to be freshest. And don’t expect gourmet — it’s best enjoyed as a hearty, flavorful road-trip snack.
Sagar S — Google review
Amazing place to take a break and have a bite. I love the taste of their vada pav and kothimbir vada. They also have a very nice combo plate which has a bit of all dishes. Taste and buy more of what you liked. They have multiple outlets on the highways around Mumbai and hence always dependable for their standard taste. Must visit

Nestled in the picturesque Tamhini Ghat, Orchard Cafè is a delightful retreat for weary travelers seeking comfort after an adventurous trek at Sudhagad. This charming resort boasts a fantastic restaurant and clubhouse, making it an ideal stop for hot snacks and meals. The air-conditioned interior provides a cozy escape from the rain, where guests can savor delicious offerings like Veg Manchow Soup and butter chicken paired with assorted breads.
We were looking for some excellent hot snacks and food after the long trek at Sudhagad, among the clouds and rain. This is a resort with a fantastic restaurant, clubhouse, and other facilities. Since it was already raining, we decided to sit inside the air-conditioned area. We started by ordering the Veg. Manchow Soup. Though they did take some time to serve the soup, it was indeed delicious and piping hot. The only part was that they did not have the fried noodles with the soup, which was understood since we reached there at about 4 p.m. The soup had plenty of vegetables and a dash of garlic and was soothing to us after getting wet in the rain. We then thought of ordering some Paneer Pakodas. And we were pleasantly surprised with the quantity. About 12 pakodas, almost finger-length, were served, and the taste was exceptionally delicious. The paneer was soft and fresh, and being served hot, it was a pleasure to bite into it. Also, the mint chutney they were served with was beautifully made. Regarding ambiance, the restaurant has a lawn and a garden outside with statues of deer. There is also a road sign installed that gives the distance and direction of major global cities from that point. Being directly on the main road and on the route to Tamhini Ghat, this restaurant is quickly visible; thus, if you wish to have some snacks or lunch when visiting Tamhini Ghat, this is the best place. Clean surroundings, excellent service, delicious food, and pocket-friendly prices. Truly recommended.

Great to place to eat at Thamini Ghat. Very neat restrooms and great good options. Pleamty of parking slots and even kids friendly atmosphere. Strongly recommend this place if you are looking for a goot breakfast spot on your way to Pune or Kokan

Very decent & clean place for family. Good toilets. Good ambiance. Apple parking available.
Umesh — Google review
During our return to Punenal, we stopped to visit during lunchtime, as we were in need of a meal. The buffet offered appears to be quite costly, as it includes only soup, two veg curries, and a single flavor of ice cream for dessert. The price seems to reflect the location rather than the quality or variety of the food. Additionally, they charge full price for children over 10 years old, despite some children not fully eating, which may not be justified. Overall, my experience was average.
Abhijeet D — Google review
Very good place to have breakfast if you are travelling to Konkan from Pune just after descending Tamhini ghat.. Place has good food options. The toilets are very good. Even ladies toilets are well maintained. Overall the place is much superior than otger snack joints around that place that have typical Tapri ambience.
Nitin T — Google review
Nice and polite staff, good food I specially recommend omlette cheese grill sandwich and ambience is also good. They have kids play area, small garden with a pond in the middle having lotus plant in it. Washrooms are clean and tidy.
Shankar D — Google review
We always visit this place when we cross Tamhini ghat and head to Konkan. You find it quiet but it’s a must stop for tea and coffee. Very clean restrooms.
Rajesh S — Google review
This restaurant is located in the serene locality of Tamhini ghat. We ordered a serving of butter chicken, mix vegetable and an assortment of breads to go with it. Sadly I couldn’t click the pictures of the food because it was devoured as soon as it arrived. The menu is limited which is fair, considering the location of this restaurant. The quality is excellent nonetheless.

Nestled along the highway, Hotel Manas Dhaba is a delightful spot for travelers seeking authentic cuisine and warm hospitality. During my recent visit, I was greeted by friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The menu boasts a variety of traditional dishes, including mouthwatering tandoori chicken and flavorful curries that truly hit the spot. I particularly enjoyed the Chicken Ghee Roast paired with Tandoori Roti and rice; each bite was bursting with flavor!
“Hotel Manas Dhaba is one of the finest places to enjoy authentic and tasty food on the highway! The quality of food is excellent – fresh, flavorful, and prepared with proper hygiene. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are delicious, and the portion sizes are generous. The staff is very polite, service is quick, and the prices are reasonable for the quality offered. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The ambiance is simple yet comfortable, with ample seating and parking space, making it a perfect stop for families as well as travelers. If you are passing by and looking for a clean, reliable, and satisfying food experience, Hotel Manas Dhaba is highly recommended!”
SURAJ M — Google review
We visited the restaurant last week and experienced very good hospitality from the staff, which is much appreciated. The food was delicious — we ordered Chicken Ghee Roast, Tandoori Roti, rice, and some North Indian vegetarian dishes, which were also tasty. However, the Chinese food, especially the noodles, needs improvement. Overall, everything else was good, we enjoyed our meals, the ambience was nice, and the restaurant has spacious parking.
Prathmesh — Google review
From the moment I stepped into Manas Hotel, knew I was in for a wonderful experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, blending comfort with a touch of elegance. The staff were exceptionally courteous and attentive - always ready with a smile and quick to help with any request. My room was spotless, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed for maximum comfort.
Manthan J — Google review
Assuming it as a genuine Manas Restaurant, ended up with below things:- 1. Waiters arguing within themselves on who serves which table. 2. Person on counter asking the waiter who actually serves which table creating a confusion whether to stay or leave. 3. Waiters ignorance beacause of above points resulting in decision better to leave. No food suggestions as we couldn't had a chance to taste. Location is fine beside the highway.

Bang on Mumbai-Goa highway. Perfect place to rest for the night and continue journey ahead. Nicely maintained spacious rooms with clean toilets.

Nestled in a convenient location, Hotel Vaibhav Family Restaurant, Bar & Lodging offers a delightful dining experience alongside comfortable lodging options. During my recent visit, I indulged in both a Veg Thali and Surmai fish Thali; the food was fresh and flavorful, making the wait worthwhile. While the ambiance is fairly average and some facilities could use improvement, such as cleanliness in the washrooms, the polite staff more than made up for it with their attentive service.
This is a Very Good Hotel for Lodging. Prices are budget friendly. Food options and other services are near by. Good parking space. Especially, the staff is with prompt service. Very helpful in other aspects as well.

Polite waiters and counter person, prompt service. However the food was very spicy (तिखट). Depends on each person's taste but when you are a family restaurant then the taste has to be balanced. Also it's Veg and NonVeg mix so it might be unacceptable to some.

We were super hungry and glad we decided to have lunch at this place. Ambience is average, the washrooms were not very clean. However ignoring all those, we were served with super delicious food and a smiling staff. Would definitely recommend this place.

The food was ok. The ambience was not so good. Overall crowd was as expected deshi daaru wale. So definitely not family friendly. We were not comfortable there and left as soon as possible. Only plus point you get is parking in the busy streets of Chiplun.

Very rude and arrogant management. We were just enquiring about room and said that there is Smell of newly painted room. They upfrontly said don't book here. Such an arrogant person and staff

The hotel is in worst condition. We just due to some difficulty had to stay there for one night and that's the maximum time anyone can stay there. As there was no running water. Every room of the hotel was leaking. Poor food and overall hotel condition. Rooms were extremely dirty.

Fast food restaurant
Udupi 2 Mumbai on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway is a much-appreciated pit stop for travelers looking for authentic Indian vegetarian cuisine in a clean and organized setting. The restaurant offers a diverse menu of tasty multi-cuisine dishes at reasonable prices, making it a great place to refresh and refuel during long highway journeys. The spacious parking and clean restroom facilities enhance the convenience for drivers and families. Many travelers see it as a reliable and pleasant stopover point on the expressway, especially given its location near tolls and major junctions. While the overall dining experience is good, some visitors have found the prices a bit on the higher side compared to typical highway eateries, but the quality and taste often justify it. It is a popular choice among both locals and long-distance travelers. In brief, Udupi 2 Mumbai provides a comfortable and satisfying dining experience on the busy Mumbai-Pune Expressway, making it a recommended stop for those who enjoy wholesome Indian vegetarian food in a tidy environment.
Yogesh K — Google review
Udupi 2 Mumbai is a Chain of Pure Vegetarian Restaurants with outlets at several places in and around Mumbai that serve all kinds of South Indian Snacks, Maharashtrian Snacks, Pav Bhaji, Sandwiches, Pizzas, Pastas and Chinese Dishes as well. We visited their outlet for Breakfast at the HP Care Center just after the Khalapur Toll Plaza on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Being located within the Large Hindustan Petroleum Company Owned Petrol Pump Premises where many Inter City Buses and Coaches stop to fill Fuel, it is Very Popular and always Crowded too. They have a General Non AC Self-Service Seating Area in the Main Hall and outside in the open as well. In addition, they also have a Small AC Seating Area, where Waiter Service is available. Even though they have a Vast Menu, you need to check with them what is available before ordering, as all items may not always be available. While the Ambience is otherwise ok, the Crowd makes it a bit Uncomfortable, Also, the Seating Area in the Main Hall is Inadequate and the Seating Area Outside is Quite Shabby. The Food Served is of Average Taste, but the Rates are Quite Steep for the Location. Also, the Toilets are outside and are Smelly & Not Clean at all. It is therefore not a place that I would go to again. The New Food Court just behind it is a Much Better Place to go to, where the Ambience is Good, there is a Vast Seating Area, a Wide Variety of Different Food & Beverage Outlets to choose from including McDonalds, Starbucks, Kailash Parbat, Theobroma, etc, including a Hugely Popular Maharashtrian Food Outlet (my Favorite) called Aapla Maharashtra, all of which serve Excellent Food at Reasonable Rates. There is plenty of Parking Space at this Food Court which is very well organized too and Clean Toilets as well. I always stop at this Food Court while driving down on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and will continue to do so in future as well.

Udupi 2 Mumbai is a great stopover for travelers on the highway. The restaurant has a clean and spacious setup with comfortable seating arrangements, making it a good place for families and groups. The food quality is consistently good – they serve authentic South Indian dishes along with a variety of North Indian and Chinese options. The dosas, idlis, and filter coffee are highly recommended if you want the real Udupi taste. Service is quick and polite, and the staff is attentive to customer needs. Prices are reasonable considering the location on the highway. The washrooms are clean and maintained, which is an important factor for travelers. Parking is ample and convenient, so you don’t have to worry even if you are traveling by car or bus. It’s a reliable and hygienic place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner while traveling between Mumbai and Pune. A perfect spot for families, friends, and solo travelers who want a satisfying meal break.
